OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles was “nervous” playing his new album for Stevie Nicks.
The former One Direction star – who released his self titled debut solo record in 2017 – has become friends with the Fleetwood Mac icon, and he admitted it can be a scary thing letting people hear his new material for the first time.
Speaking in The Face Volume 4 Issue 001, he said: “It’s a double-edged thing. You’re always nervous when you are playing people music for the first time.
“You’ve heard it so much by this point, you forget that people haven’t heard it before. It’s hard to not feel like you’ve done what you’ve set out to do.
“You are happy with something and then someone who you respect so much and look up to is, like: ​’I really like this.’ ”
Stevie has described the highly anticipated follow up LP as “spectacular”, and she revealed it is a world away from the music he made with 1D – and indeed from the material on his first standalone effort.
She said: “It’s not like his last album. It’s not like anything One Direction ever did. It’s pure Harry, as Harry would say. He’s made a very different record and it’s spectacular.”
For Harry, 25, it means a lot getting such kind words from someone he admires, and the ‘Sign of the Times’ hitmaker admitted he is in a place where he’s more confident about the album being released for the rest of the world to hear.
He added: “It feels like a large stamp [of approval]. It’s a big step towards feeling very comfortable with whatever else happens to it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson’s new single is a “statement of intent”.
The ‘Kill My Mind’ singer dropped the rock track as his new single on Thursday (05.09.19) and he has described the song as a callback to the pop landscape when he was growing up listening to the likes of The Killers and Arctic Monkeys.
He’s quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “When I grew up, pop meant Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, The Killers and Amy Winehouse.
“Times change. Currently pop is very urban and street, which is not what I relate to. ‘Kill My Mind’ feels like a statement of intent. Sonically, it’s new for me and writing it was exciting.”
The former One Direction star explained that the inspiration for the new tune came from being young, “naughty” and “trying different things”.
He added: “It’s a loud, busy, rocky song that’s all about having fun. It’s about that experimental phase of your youth where you’re trying different things, some of which aren’t great for you but are definitely fun. It’s a song about being naughty.”
Louis had previously teased fans that there is “not long now” until he releases new tunes.
Thanking fans for choosing him as the winner of the Choice Single: Male Artist Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards for his emotional single, ‘Two Of Us’ – which helped him with the grief of losing his mother Johannah Deakin, he wrote: “Just another thank you to everyone who voted for the award. You’re all incredible!! Not long now….. (sic)”
And the ‘Just Hold On’ hitmaker was inspired by Liam Gallagher to bare his soul on the single.
He said: “I don’t like being clever for the sake of being clever. Sometimes it’s cool to read between the lines. My lyrical style, naturally, is to just be matter of fact, honest and sometimes blunt. I kind of shied away from writing that song because I didn’t really think I was ready to go through that process yet. I got into a session and we ended up getting into it, and it was going perfectly. I really did want to write this song, I was just intimidated because it had to be perfect.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says some of his younger fans are “f***ing idiots”.
The High Flying Birds rocker has hit out at teenage fans calling for Oasis songs at his shows, and he admitted he’ll keep playing new material to spite them.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “When I play those songs it is an incredible thing since the documentary Supersonic came out. It has reinvigorated a whole new fan base. “Sadly they all do turn up to the gigs dressed as Liam with four pairs of sunglasses on, rolling around going ‘I’m mad for it’.
“The new stuff that I am doing they f****ing hate it. Which makes me want to do it more. You little f***ing idiot, you are only 15. What the f**k! You were only ten when the band broke up. F**k off.”
The 52-year-old star is set to release a new EP ‘This Is The Place’ on September 27, and he admitted at this stage in his career there are no nerves.
He added: “People say ‘Do you never get nervous?’ And I am like, ‘No because all these people have paid to see me and the only person in this f***ing building who’s me is me’.
“And I am the best at being me. So it is like, ‘What am I getting nervous for?’ If they don’t have a good time, what I am going to f***ing do? They came to see me and I showed up.”
Teasing what his new songs are sounding like, Noel previously described them as “70s disco” records.
The ‘Live Forever’ songwriter ditched the usual lyrical references and guitar chords that made him famous in favour of fresh riffs for him.
He said: “Well, 70s disco … like the beginning of the world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Pop turned down a Madison Square Garden “party” to mark The Stooges’ 50th anniversary.
The punk rock pioneers released their debut self titled album – regarded as one of the most influential records of all time – in 1969, but the 72-year-old star snubbed offers to celebrate the milestone with a show because his original bandmates have all passed away.
He told BBC News: “Once you get into showbusiness, you require minions, so they all have their own ideas about what to do to mark this splendid event.
“I had a very talented and powerful minion who wanted to rent Madison Square Garden and get a bunch of bands who’d been influenced by me and hold a big party.
“I didn’t want to do that because I haven’t been at it 50 years alone. It’s a more delicate thing. Other people will mention it, and it’s true, I was the vocalist and lyricist and wrote some of the music on that album.”
The Godfather of Punk started the band with Dave Alexander alongside brothers Scott and Ron Asheton, but by 2014 he was the only surviving founding member.
Instead of putting on a show without his friends, the ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ singer has worked on a new book of lyrics covering his six decades in music.
He added: “There I am looking at pictures of my whole history. They’re asking me to write one set of notes for each decade and suddenly you’re thinking in those terms.
“A lot of your colleagues and contemporaries have passed away. So there’s that. And then there’s constant responsibility to do what I can to resemble oneself as one gets older.”
Iggy released his new album ‘Free’ on Friday (06.09.19), which marked a period of him stepping away from a tough time touring with Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders to support the ‘Post Pop Depression’ LP.
He said: “I felt a little drained. As you mature, physically, when you get past 60 if you’re still active, it’s a good idea to put more of your efforts into mental work and less into physical work.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Pat Sharp will host the We Love The 90’s UK tour.
The former host of ITV’s ‘FunHouse’ will be bringing the nostalgic road trip to the nation as he looks to take people back to a period of time “where people got excited about pop music” with 15 classic acts set for the shows.
He said: “Imagine a time when the Internet didn’t exist. People went out and bought singles and albums on cassette from music shops.
“Everyone listened to the radio and discovered these great pop songs. Sundays were for tuning in to the Chart Show to hear who was in the Top 40 and who made No.1. That was the nineties! “It’ll be nice to be transported back to that time, where people got excited about pop music. Even if it is just for one night.”
Topping the bill are the likes of Vengaboys, Jenny Berggren from Ace of Base and 2 Unlimited, with Snap!, Whigfield, Haddaway and Dr. Alban joining the fun.
Culture Beat, Cappella, Rednex and C+C Music Factor are also set for the tour, with DJ Sash, Robin S, La Bouche and Alice DJ rounding off the line-up, which bosts over 120 million record sales and 60 UK top 10 single between the 15 acts.
The tour will kick off in Leeds at the First Direct Arena on December 13, while the fun rolls into Birmingham’s Genting Arena the follow night.
On December 18, fans will get to enjoy the show at London’s Wembley Arena before a night at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow the next evening.
The tour comes to an end on December 20 with one last show at Mancester Arena.

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin and Shirlie Kemp have announced their first ever collaborative album.
The loved up couple – who enjoyed success in their own rights with Spandau Ballet and Pepsi and Shirlie respectively and have been married since 1988 – will team up for the first time on new album ‘In The Swing Of It’ as they channel their love for music.
Martin said: “It’s brought us even closer. What they did in the 50s with swing was they made love songs that made you happy.
“The words that we are singing, what we have created, it is an open love letter for everyone to read, that we are going to leave behind us when we are long gone.
“When we sing those love songs together there is a truth behind it. For Shirlie and I the words actually mean something so there is a spark there, which is what got everyone excited.”
Tracks include the likes of ‘Nice Work If You Can Get It’ – which references the former ‘EastEnders’ actor’s roles – while the pair also take on classics like ‘Fly Me to the Moon’ and ‘Ain’t That A Kick in the Head’.
There even teamed up with their daughter Harleymoon – a songwriter based in Nashville – as she penned the songs ‘Like We Used To Do’ and ‘When We’re Apart’.
Shirlie added: “I feel happy when I listen to this music, I hope people dance and sing along to the album when they are in their homes doing the cleaning or cooking the Sunday roast. “Singing is a happy drug. If you are singing at home it makes you feel better, it releases endorphins, which is what we both experienced making this record; singing makes you feel good.”
‘In The Swing Of It’ will be released on November 22, and the duo will be performing songs from the collection as part of Big Band Broadway at London’s Royal Festival Hall on January 25.

OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno wants his solo gigs to feel “like a David Lynch film”.
The Kasabian guitarist is planning some shows in support of his upcoming solo album ‘The S.L.P.’ but doesn’t want them to look or feel like a typical concert, though he’s not sure yet how to execute his plans.
He said: “I want people to feel on edge, that at any point I could be stood next to them in the crowd and they won’t realise.
“There’ll be live musicians, but they’ll be dotted around.
“It just won’t look like a gig. I mean, this is all in my head so we’ll see how it all turns out.
“But I want it to feel like Sin City and I want it to feel like a David Lynch film.
“[I’ll have] no guitar. It’s David Byrne, Prince, Bowie … I’m going Mr. Entertainment.”
While Serge is scared of the prospect of playing a gig on his own, he’s also very excited.
He admitted: “Oh I’m s***ting it a bit but in the way in which you do before you go on Nemesis, you know what I mean? I’m in the queue and I can’t wait.
“But there’s part of me going, ‘Mate, just keep the car running just in case.’ ”
And the rocker would rather take a “risk” than do something simple.
He added in an interview with Q magazine: “But that’s the thing; dialling it in, just becoming a rock band bores the s**t out of me. The boredom frightens me more than the risk.
“People who put themselves out there for their art, they’re the people I’m interested in, they’re the people I love.
“Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they don’t. But you’ve got to be in the game.
“I don’t want to be on the sidelines, watching. I want to be in there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles’ solo tour changed him “emotionally”.
The 25-year-old singer admitted he became more accepting of himself after embarking on a tour for his debut solo album ‘Harry Styles’ and he praised his fans for giving him a safe space to “experiment and have fun”.
Rolling Stone magazine writer Rob Sheffield shared a quote from his interview with Harry on Twitter, which read: “The tour, that affected me deeply. It really changed me emotionally. Having people come to sing the songs. For me the tour was the biggest thing in terms of being more accepting of myself, I think. I kept thinking, ‘Oh wow, they really want me to be myself. And be out and do it’.
“That’s the thing I’m most thankful for, of touring. I feel like the fans in the room – it’s this environment where people come to feel like they can be themselves. There’s nothing that makes me feel more myself than to be in this whole room of people. It made me see people want to see me experiment and have fun. Nobody wants to see you fake it.”
Meanwhile, Harry recently revealed he was “nervous” playing his new album for Stevie Nicks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX found making her new album “cathartic”.
The 27-year-old singer admitted her upcoming self-titled third LP is far more specific and “personal” to her own experiences than any of her previous work and getting down her thoughts and feelings made her feel much “better”.
She said: “I know every artists says their album is their most personal, it’s not exactly a groundbreaking piece of information, but for me this album really is that.
“In the past I think I’ve always managed to be just personal enough without giving anything away. My stories have never been totally fabricated but they have been more about general emotions or feelings which many people go through and can relate to.
“This album gets specific, from in depth thoughts on my insecurities and loneliness in songs like ‘Gone’ and ‘Thoughts’ to literal specific dates in February 2017, where I almost ruined one of the most important relationships in my life.
“In particular, I would describe the album as cathartic, it’s almost like therapy in some ways…I confess and I feel better I suppose.”
While the ‘Boom Clap’ hitmaker found it helpful to get her thoughts down on paper, it wasn’t her original intention with the album.
She added in an interview with Gay Times magazine: “The thoughts in my head just finally felt like they needed to come out. It feels good to talk about it on this record, and what’s weird is that I didn’t really plan it that way, it just sort of started happening and I went with it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi doesn’t see his success lasting.
The Scottish chart-topper thinks it’s “bizarre” how he became a huge star thanks to his 2018 breakthrough hit ‘Someone You Loved’ – which spent seven weeks at number one, and remained in the UK top 10 for 14 weeks – and he has “convinced himself” that he won’t be this popular by this time next year.
Speaking on BBC Scotland’s ‘The Edit’, he said: “You can’t accept it as normality at all.
“You have to go, ‘This is very weird and it’s going to be weird for a couple of years.’
“It’s so bizarre and I am so convinced that it’s not going to last for very long.
“It’s at some size now where you think, ‘Surely it can not go on for longer than a year.
“It already shouldn’t have gone on this long, do you know what I mean?
“So we will see how we will get on, but you can’t ask for a better life, I guess, it has just been incredible.”
Meanwhile, Lewis recently admitted he almost ditched ‘Someone You Loved’ because he didn’t think it was strong enough.
The singer admitted he had some serious doubts over the quality of his hit single.
He said: “With ‘Someone You Loved’ I wrote the melodies for it and then I was like, ‘oh f**k, this is not good enough’, and then I completely stopped working on it.
“And I kept revisiting it over the months and still thinking,’this isn’t good enough still’, and I was almost trashing the song every single time.”
The tune was released it in November and was the follow-up to lead single ‘Grace’, which made the top 10, from his debut album ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney has hinted he’s playing Glastonbury next year.
The Beatles legend last played the Pyramid Stage in 2004 and he has now admitted that he thinks the time has come for him to return to Worthy Farm, especially as his daughters Stella, 47, and Mary, 50, are keen for him to play the festival.
Speaking on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2, he said: “People are saying that it will be good if I did it, so I’m starting to think about whether I can or whether it would be a good thing.
“My kids are saying, ‘Dad, we’ve got to talk about Glastonbury’, and I think I know what they mean.”
McCartney, 77, instead that nothing has been set in stone yet, but it’s definitely on the cards.
He added: “We played there quite a long time ago so maybe it is time to go back. I don’t know. I’d have to put a few things in place.
“It’s starting to become some remote kind of possibility. It’s definitely not fixed yet but people are starting to talk about it.”
McCartney’s Glasto hint comes after the festival’s founder Michael Eavis dropped a huge teaser that the ‘Let it Be’ hitmaker will be returning to the music extravaganza for its 50th anniversary.
He said: “Paul’s on good form at the moment.”
When asked if he had “spoken to him” and if he was coming to Worthy Farm, Michael said: “Hopefully for the 50th, yeah.
“Don’t make a big thing of it though will you?”
Last June, the music icon admitted he would “probably” headline Glastonbury if he was asked, but he thought his daughters – who he has with late ex-wife Linda – must have been “drunk” when they announced plans to launch a campaign for their father to top the bill on the iconic Pyramid Stage.
He said: “I think they were drunk weren’t they?
“They have said to me actually, ‘Dad you’ve got to do it, you’ve got to do it.’
“I haven’t really spoken to anyone about it. It’s a little while since we did it. And we did enjoy doing it. The conversation hasn’t gone any further.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Editors’ Tom Smith is “very proud” of the band’s “longevity”.
The ‘Papillon’ hitmakers are set to release their best of album ‘Black Gold’ on October 26, which is comprised of 13 songs taken from their six-album catalogue and three new tracks; ‘Upside Down’, ‘Frankenstein’ and title track ‘Black Gold’.
Frontman Tom says that whilst the band are embarking on the next chapter of their career with newer members Justin Lockey and Elliott Williams, and have “solidified” the “new version of the band”, he hasn’t taken for granted the fact the group is still going after 15 years.
He said: “To still be doing this is something I’m very proud of.
“These days longevity might not be seen as cool, but I think it is.
“We’ve solidified what this new version of the band is, and I think the new songs show that the band are hungry.
“We’ve always felt like outsiders, but wanted to write songs that connect with people emotionally, and resonate in a deeper way.
“That can sound pretentious and contrived, but there are people out there that our band mean a lot to. “That’s what I always wanted.”
As well as the best of album, the band are also set to embark on a mammoth 27-date European and UK ‘Greatest Hits’ tour in early 2020, which sees the indie rockers play arenas including London’s The SSE Arena, Wembley on February 28.
‘Last year, the band returned with ‘Violence’, their first studio effort since 2015’s ‘Dream’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Louise Redknapp has delayed the release of her comeback album until 2020.
The 44-year-old singer has apologised to her fans after making the decision to delay the release of ‘Heavy Love’ until January because her commitments to stage show ‘9-5’ meant she wouldn’t be able to promote the record if it came out as planned next month.
She wrote an open letter on Instagram which read: “To all my incredible fans, old and new, who’ve supported me in pre-ordering my new album ‘Heavy Love’.
“Due to clashes between my ‘9-5’ touring schedule in October, and the fact that it means missing key promotional opportunities around the launch of the album; my record company has asked me to push back the album release date a little.
“This has not been an easy decision and I hate to let anyone down. ‘Heavy Love’ has been two years in the making with blood, sweat and (a lot!) of tears and so I want to fully commit to its release and showing it off to to its fullest potential.
“With this in mind it feels like the right thing to do.”
To thank her fans, the ‘Naked’ hitmaker will make a new song available on Friday (06.09.19).
She continued: “As a small token of my appreciation for your continued support, I have a special song for you available for you to download on Friday. It’s called Breaking Back Together and it’s very dear to my heart. I hope you love it.
“The new release date for the album is the 17th of January 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Nas X didn’t realise he’d sampled Nirvana’s ‘In Bloom’ on ‘Panini’.
The ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker has revealed he had never heard of the grunge legends’ seminal 1991 album and had no idea that his track on his debut EP ‘7’ had a snippet of the song from the famous record.
Luckily, Frances Bean Cobain, the daughter of the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ group’s late frontman Kurt Cobain, heard it and approved the sample for him.
Nas – whose real name is Montero Hill – told SiriusXM: “I put out the snippet [of ‘Panini’] and everyone was like, ‘Wow, he’s sampling Nirvana.’
“I was like, ‘Where? I’m not sampling Nirvana, this beat doesn’t have Nirvana in it.’
“Then, I listened to ‘In Bloom’ in full, and I was like, ‘Oh, okay’,”.
He added: “I actually heard from Kurt’s daughter. “She’s the one who pretty much approved the song and she told me how much she loved the video for ‘Old Town Road’ and stuff … It actually got me into the album for the first time. I had never heard ‘Nevermind’.”
Meanwhile, the country trap rapper recently revealed he plans on making “at least 70 songs” for his debut album.
The 20-year-old star shot to fame after ‘Old Town Road’ went viral on video-sharing platform TikTok earlier this year, and he revealed his first record, which is only “two per cent” complete, will be very “personal” and varied.
He said: “With this [project], I wanna have at least 70 songs to choose from.”
Although he said it will be “more personal”, he also promised it will be “slapping”.
It’s likely he’ll open about about his sexuality on the record, after he came out as gay during Pride Month in June this year.
The ‘Rodeo’ rapper recently admitted he believes the universe was sending him signs to push him toward opening up about his sexuality.
Nas said being thrust into the spotlight made him realise it was time to come out.
He said: “I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe. In June, I’m seeing Pride flags everywhere and seeing couples holding hands – little stuff like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue wants to work with Calvin Harris again.
The Scottish DJ worked on the Australian superstar’s tracks ‘In My Arms’ and ‘Heart Beat Rock’ on her 2007 LP ‘X’, when he was just starting out, and she would love to team up with him now he’s at the top of his game and admitted she is still a huge fan of his breakout tune ‘Acceptable in the 80s’.
Kylie told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I’ve not worked with Calvin since he became Calvin Harris.
“I worked with him when he had to stop and have a drink because he was so nervous coming into the studio.
“He was still making records in his bedroom!
“But I would like to revisit that, his work is amazing.
“I did can then and I still love ‘Acceptable in the 80s’.”
Calvin has since worked with huge names, including Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding and Frank Ocean, but the ‘We Found Love’ hitmaker recalled how he downed a shot of whiskey before getting into the studio with Kylie, and ended up being “just as nervous” because he was a little drunk.
He confessed in 2009: “I needed a shot of Jack Daniel’s to calm my nerves.
“That wasn’t a very good idea.
“It was early in the morning and I ended up a bit drunk, but just as nervous.
“But Kylie was amazing. I didn’t realise just how much she contributed musically.”
Meanwhile, Calvin isn’t the only famous DJ Kylie wants to work with.
The ‘I Should Be So Lucky’ hitmaker is known for her huge dance anthems, such as ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’, ‘Spinning Around’ and ‘Sexercise’, and the 51-year-old singer would love to return to that same sound she’s synonymous for by working with the ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker.
Kylie – who went down the country route on her last LP ‘Golden’ – said: “I feel a bit of disco coming on next.
“There’s actually a big disco section in this show and we all know about it by the end because it nearly takes us all out.
“It’s full-on, full-tilt, so that’s where I would go at this point.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Raye is considering embarking on a career in acting.
The ‘Decline’ hitmaker made friends with Beyonce and Seth Rogen – who voice Nala and Pumbaa respectively in this year’s ‘The Lion King’ remake – after working on the song ‘Bigger’ for the former’s ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ album, and has revealed she has since discussed the possibility of become an actress herself.
On “having a vibe’ with her idol Beyonce and the ‘Superbad’ actor, the 21-year-old star told Britain’s Metro newspaper: “It was incredible.
“Seth Rogen was there.
“I would call them friends to an extent.
“It was really nice to spend time with somebody I have idolised my whole life.
“It was just like friends in a circle having vibe.”
The ‘Cigarette’ hitmaker was also told by her pals that she would make a good actress after her impressive fake-crying in her music video for ‘Love Me Again’ and she is keen to take some acting lessons now.
She added: “I was talking about acting last week.
“In my ‘Love Me Again’ video I am crying my eyes out and people are like, ‘There could be potential for acting’. I’m like, ‘Get me into class!'”
Raye couldn’t contain her excitement when Beyonce told her that ‘Bigger’ was the lead track on the album.
The ‘You Don’t Know Me’ hitmaker tweeted: “Beyonce told me I’ve written Track 1 on the new album called Bigger. I can’t I can’t (sic)”
Meanwhile, the singer’s next gig is working with former Fifth Harmony star Normani on her debut album.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’m flying to Los Angeles to do some work with Normani, which is really exciting.”
Raye recently teased the ‘Dancing with a Stranger’ hitmaker is “about to blow the world away with her music”.
