OHMYGOSSIP — Black Francis can no longer “justify” making solo records away from the Pixies.
The ‘Debaser’ hitmaker went solo when the group disbanded in 1993 and though he initially continued working alone when they reunited in 2004, he insisted he did that to “keep proving” himself as a songwriter but now it wouldn’t make sense to get into the studio without the band.
He told The Sun newspaper: “I feel that albums like ‘Bluefinger’ (2007) and ‘Svn Fngrs’ (2008) could easily have been Pixies records.
“I felt a degree of frustration but they were a creative outlet and I was able to keep proving to the band that I could still write songs.
“Now with Pixies, we earn a pretty good wage, much more than during our first incarnation.
“I have family, I have kids and tours take me away from them. I couldn’t really justify one for some solo record that is probably only going to break even.”
But away from the ‘Monkey Gone to Heaven’ group, Francis has another outlet for his creativity in painting.
He said: “It’s great because there are no other people involved. I even stayed up late last night painting in my room, very abstract stuff.
“I don’t have to answer to anyone. I can do it for hours and hours. I can listen to music or not listen to music. I can be alone and I can do it all day every day.
“If this music thing doesn’t pan out, or if I take a sabbatical, I would totally just do painting.”
Kim Deal only returned briefly to the group, and was replaced by two female bassists, Kim Shattuck and Paz Lenchantin and Francis admitted he and his bandmates, drummer Dave Lovering and guitarist Joey Santiago, prefer the dynamic of having a woman in the band.
He said: “If you’re going to write new material, it requires emotional commitment. Kim (Deal) wasn’t up for that. She was fine playing the old stuff and doing a tour once in a while…
“For about a minute, we considered hiring another male but we’re used to the sexual dynamic of male/female.
“We’re not particularly crass in our maleness but a woman brings politeness to the affair.
“Anyway, the band make-up just feels right. It suits my personality. Even my friends out there in the world don’t tend to be all male. I like hanging out with women!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slash has confirmed Guns N’ Roses are planning to release a full album rather than a spate of standalone singles.
While it is known the ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmakers have been working on new material, the legendary guitarist has admitted the US rockers are aiming to drop a full record of new tunes, but admits there is “no formula” for releasing new music nowadays.
He said: “I think at the end of the day, everybody wants to have a full album released. I don’t think that’s really changed all that much.
“But there’s a different way of putting stuff out initially nowadays more so than … I mean, there’s always been the single, but now you sort of look at that preliminary release a little bit differently now. All things considered, it’s like the Wild West out there; there is no formula for any of it.
“I haven’t seen any routine kind of thing that works. I mean, you can do any one of a million different things to releasing a record. But at the end of the day, I think that we will ultimately release a full album.”
Slash is “really excited” about the new material, and says the songwriting process has involved everyone when they are in town together.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation’, he added: “We’re just doing this one run [of shows] in the States and a couple of dates in Mexico end of this month into November. And so that’s it for GUNS for now. And I think we have something coming up in March as far as touring is concerned. Obviously, everybody knows that we’re working on new material, which is really exciting, and so, that’s really primarily what the focus is.
“Everybody has been sort of, like, when we’re in town, working on it. And then when we’re out of town, obviously not. So it’s been that kind of thing.”
In May, Slash confirmed Guns N’ Roses were yet to enter the studio together, but said they plan to do so “in the fall”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey unveiled her new album ‘Manic’ by painting the artwork for fans.
The ’11 Minutes’ singer has announced she will release her third record – the follow-up to 2017’s ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ – on January 17.
And after sharing a time-lapse on her website of her creating the album cover, a bold colourful self-portrait, featuring rainbow colours in her hair, on a large canvas screen, the 24-year-old star made the new single ‘Graveyard’ available to stream and download.
The new record is also set to feature the single ‘Nightmare’, which she released back in May.
Although Halsey had planned to write more about the world around her on her new album, she recently admitted that it didn’t work and she is more comfortable writing about the world through the lens of her own experiences.
She explained: “I sat down to write this album and I was like, ‘Alright, time to stop talking about yourself and start looking at the world around you!’ And then I got two songs in and I was like, ‘Uh, I only know how to talk about myself.’ Because I don’t know anything as well as I know me, so I can’t write anything as true to f**king Halsey than when I’m writing about myself.”
The star also called new single ‘Nightmare’ an “angry anthem”.
She said: “Female rage is a very tight subject for me right now.”
And she also added that she has finally stopped seeing other women as competition.
She explained: “I spent my whole life being the person who’s like ‘I f**king hate girls, I only want to hang out with boys; girls are so annoying’.
“And now I’m in my 20s and I’m like ‘I love women! They’re awesome!’ Women are so tight, I’m surrounded by amazing women and I love how strong and beautiful and incredible they all are in their own ways. It’s cool to be in my 20s and to have like grown out of that internalised misogyny. I’ve grown comfortable in my own space and in my own skin, so it eliminates that factor of competition for sure.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has labelled his rival brother Liam’s band “the worst live band out there”.
The 52-year-old rocker took a swipe at his former Oasis bandmate’s touring musicians – which include Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell – and seemingly suggested he’s not impressed with the way they perform their former band’s hits.
Noel is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “The worst live band out there? Have you seen my brother’s band? Go see it.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter recently hit out at younger fans of the Britpop group – who split up in August 2009 after a backstage bust-up between the siblings, who have been embroiled in a war of words ever since – who want him to play their songs, and now he’s suggested he may do two separate gigs, one where he plays his High Flying Birds tracks and one entirely of Oasis’ back catalogue.
However, he insisted that ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger, ‘Half The World Away’ and ‘The Masterplan’ will always remain staples of his solo setlist.
He said: “I could see myself doing a gig where I don’t do any Oasis songs, a special thing somewhere.
“At the same time I could see myself doing a gig where I only do Oasis songs but it wouldn’t be a long-term plan or something.
“I’m not sure I’d want to do a gig where I didn’t do Don’t Look Back In Anger and Half The World Away and The Masterplan and all those great songs because they’re part of me and if people are coming to see me for the first time it shows what you can do. As long as I get to play what I want then I’ll play what the crowd want.”
Noel recently admitted he’ll keep playing new material to spite the Parka Monkeys.
He said: “When I play those songs it is an incredible thing since the documentary Supersonic came out. It has reinvigorated a whole new fan base. “Sadly they all do turn up to the gigs dressed as Liam with four pairs of sunglasses on, rolling around going ‘I’m mad for it’.
“The new stuff that I am doing they f****ing hate it. Which makes me want to do it more. You little f***ing idiot, you are only 15. What the f**k! You were only ten when the band broke up. F**k off.”
‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker Liam, 46, warned Noel that he should be careful about mocking their fans all the time because eventually they will turn their backs on him.
Liam – who is about to release his second solo LP ‘Why Me? Why Not.’ – fumed: “Noel is in his f***ing world right now. I don’t know what’s going on with that bastard. He is not happy doing cosmic pop.
“He is not happy being the leader.
“He is not happy having all the money … What the hell makes you happy?
“He will end up playing in pubs because Oasis fans are going to end up getting feed up with him … You know what? Kids go to my concerts.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Westlife have announced their first-ever concert at Wembley Stadium.
The ‘What About Now’ hitmakers – Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan – will play the 90,000-capacity venue on August 22 and have promised it will be ” a once-in-a-lifetime experience” for their fans.
Speaking on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2 on Friday (13.09.19), the band said: “Headlining Wembley Stadium is a dream come true for all of us. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we’re incredibly excited for a show which will be different and more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before.
“This will be our biggest ever concert in the UK.”
The ‘Flying Without Wings’ hitmakers will be joined at the show by special guests James Morrison and 90s girl group All Saints.
The one-off gig follows their triumphant ‘Twenty Tour’ earlier this year, which shifted a record 600,000 tickets across 27 cities and 13 countries.
Westlife are also gearing up for the release of their first album since 2020’s ‘Gravity’ on November 15.
‘Spectrum’ features the singles ‘Hello My Love’, ‘Better Man’ and ‘Dynamite’ and has been largely co-written by Ed Sheeran and produced by Steve Mac.
As well the three singles, the LP features two other tracks penned by the ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker, plus a collaboration with James Bay.
The band recently teased that the record is “the very best version of Westlife possible”.
They said: “We’re all driven by trying to create the best album of our careers. Our fans deserve the very best version of Westlife possible and with this album we feel that we’ve achieved that.
“The album has everything that we love in music, heartfelt emotional songs and also great uptempo’s that are designed for our stadium performances.
“We couldn’t be happier with how the last few months in the studio have gone and we cannot wait for our fans to hear the end results.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who have unveiled their new album ‘Who’ and announced a 2020 UK tour with a live orchestra.
Following on from their stadium show at Wembley in July, which saw them debut brand new tracks ‘Hero Ground Zero’ and ‘Ball and Chain’ from the long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s ‘Endless Wire’, the ‘My Generation’ hitmakers have confirmed the release of their first album in 13 years on November 22.
A per a press release, the subject matter ranges from the “Grenfell Tower fire, musical theft, spirituality, reincarnation, the power of memory and ‘an old rock star that has lost his marbles.”
Frontman Roger Daltrey, 75, feels the LP – which has been co-produced by guitarist Pete Townshend and Oasis producer Dave Sardy – as their “best” since the iconic ‘Quadrophenia’.
He said: “I think we’ve made our best album since ‘Quadrophenia’ in 1973, Pete hasn’t lost it, he’s still a fabulous songwriter, and he’s still got that cutting edge.”
The record features co-writing from Pete’s brother Simon Townshend and the songs were made to compliment Roger’s “revived singing voice”, whilst the main theme is “the explosive state of things today”.
The 74-year-old guitar-slayer added: “This album is almost all new songs written last year, with just two exceptions.
“There is no theme, no concept, no story, just a set of songs that I (and my brother Simon) wrote to give Roger Daltrey some inspiration, challenges and scope for his newly revived singing voice.
“Roger and I are both old men now, by any measure, so I’ve tried to stay away from romance, but also from nostalgia if I can.
“I didn’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable. “Memories are OK, and some of the songs refer to the explosive state of things today.
“I made new home studio demos of all these songs in the summer of 2018 using a wide collection of instruments old and new.
“We started recording as The Who in March 2019, and have finished now in late August just in time to make some vinyl ……… maybe even some cassettes …… ready for release in November.”
‘Ball and Chain’ has been officially released today and fans will be able to catch the ‘Pinball Wizard’ hitmakers at arenas in March 2020.
The tour, which will once again feature an epic orchestra, will kick off on March 16 at Manchester Arena, conclude at The SSE Arena, Wembley on April 8.
‘Who’, which is available as a double vinyl, digitally, and on CD and cassette, can be pre-ordered now.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa’s second album is “just a party”.
The 24-year-old singer is currently working on the follow-up to her self-titled debut record, which was released in 2017, and has said she wants her new material to get people on their feet and have them “dance through the whole record”.
She said: “I feel like you could dance through the whole record. There’s lots of nos­tal­gic ele­ments to it. There’s a sam­ple in there from the 1930s. It’s just a party.”
The ‘New Rules’ hitmaker is moving on from the sound of her first album, and says the new music is a change of musical direction.
She added: “It would prob­a­bly be risky if I wasn’t risky with the next record. I don’t think it would be as fun if I tried to recre­ate the first record. As an artist, you con­stant­ly want to grow and change your per­spec­tive and try some­thing new.”
Dua already knows “exactly” what kind of record she wants to make for her second studio venture, and whilst she won’t spill too many details about the album’s content, she says she’s recorded “50 or 60” songs.
The ‘New Love’ singer said: “Before I start­ed, I knew my album title. I knew exact­ly what I was going to be mak­ing. There are some songs that are hap­py, some about heart­break, some about deal­ing with your life in public.”
And the singer believes her new record will show a more confident side to her songwriting, as she’s no longer nervous about speaking her mind and putting forward her own ideas.
Speaking to The Face magazine, she said: “[For my first album] I was sur­round­ed by peo­ple that had done this longer than me – I always felt like I wasn’t good enough. I’d go into the stu­dio, the pro­duc­er would already have a beat or a track or some­thing we could write to, because I was still in the process of real­ly find­ing my sound. I would say [ideas], and when we didn’t end up using those, I would kind of go back into my shell. It wasn’t until I did ‘Hot­ter than Hell’ and ‘Last Dance’ that I start­ed fig­ur­ing it out, and things start­ed sound­ing a bit more cohe­sive. Now I’m not scared. As a writer, some­times you’ve got to be OK with say­ing some s**t, you know? There’s no wrong answer. Some­thing could be amaz­ing, it could sound ridicu­lous, it could real­ly work.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer’s ‘Hella Mega Tour’ was inspired by the ‘Monsters of Rock Tour’.
The three major rock groups are heading out on a mammoth jaunt in 2020, which includes a stop at the London Stadium on June 26, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has revealed he wanted to pay homage to the annual festival tour, which was an offshoot of the legendary heavy metal extravaganza Monsters of Rock, which took place at Donington Park in the East Midlands in England – now home to Download Festival – in the 80s and 90s.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio, Billie said: “It’s kind of a Green Day idea.
“And we talked about how we weren’t really wanting to do stadiums and do something that was like throwback to ‘Monsters of Rock Tour’.
There was, of course, Fall Out Boy and Weezer and now we’re stoked.”
Fall Out Boy’s bassist, Pete Wentz added: “To me, I remember, in the 90s, there was this one summer, and Guns and Roses, Metallica went on the stadium tour and my parents didn’t let me go to it.
“And I feel trapped in that forever and we wanted to … You know what I mean? But you want to recreate that memory.
“Hopefully if somebody who gets to go to the tour, I think this tour represents counter-programming, I think that the world is moving in one direction in an obvious way, or whatever.
“I think that this tour represents counter programming to that and it’s awesome to take part in that and be a small part of it.”
The tour will follow a new album from Green Day, which they have unveiled as ‘Father Of All…’ , and will likely drop in February.
The record sleeve features a “rainbow, bright” unicorn and is “only 26 minutes long”.
The ‘American Idiot’ hitmaker teased: “Well, we recorded an album and it’s called ‘Father of All …’ its song title is also that.
“It’s got a unicorn on the cover. It’s rainbow, bright. “It’s got a horn and it’s got funny eyes.
“Yeah, we made a new record and we’re really excited, it’s only 26 minutes long, so it’s the shortest record we’ve made, I think since Dookie or Insomniac.”
The LP will document and “reflect” the “crazy times we live in” with Donald Trump in charge of The White House, but Billie says whilst there is “a lot of depression” running through the songs, it’s done with a “sense of humour”.
On what fans can expect from their follow-up to 2016’s ‘Radio Revolution’, he added: “There’s a lot of depression, but with a sense of humour.
“But also just kind of the way the world works right now where everything is, I think it’s just, we live in just the time of complete and total chaos – or else we’ve always been, but now it’s turned up to Trump. “So it’s just trying to reflect what’s going on.
“And it’s not really writing like political songs, but just writing stuff that, just the s*** that you see every day. [‘American Idiot’ was the] good old days.
“Remember when we just had two wars going on? It’s like, ‘Yeah.’ Anyways, yeah, we live definitely in the craziest of times right now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Miles Kane’s new album is a “samba-y Motown thing”.
The Last Shadow Puppets star recently released indie pop single ‘Blame It On The Summertime’ and has now teased that his follow-up to 2018’s ‘Coup de Grace’ LP will continue in the “glam vein” of its predecessor, but the 33-year-old rocker has also been influenced by Brazilian Samba music and Motown’s R&B/soul artists.
Miles told presenter Laura Whitmore on the latest episode of ‘Red Stripe Presents: This Feeling TV’: “It was a perfect transition from the last album to hint at maybe where we’re going, but it probably could have still fitted on that last record.
“It was just a cool tune (‘Can You See Me Now’) and we’ve been writing a lot of tunes that are still in that glam vain and now we’re exploring with a bit more of a – well, lately we’re getting into that samba-y Motown thing. Combined into a new song. [Blame It On The] Summertime isn’t really like that but I guess it’s a bit Motown-y.”
Miles teased that he’s aiming to put out his next record by “early next year”.
He said: “I think [the album will come out] next year. Plan A is early next year – so if we stick to plan A, it’s achievable. That’s what we’re working towards.”
The ‘Cry On my Guitar’ singer also hailed ‘Blame It On The Summertime’ – which was produced by George Ezra’s producer Cam Blackwood – as “one of the best tunes” he’s made.
He said: “It’s been a lot of fun.
“We’ve just been busy, and it’s been creative as well and we’ve put a couple of new songs out this year. “That was called ‘Can You See Me’, and we’ve got another one coming out in September, called ‘Blame It On The Summertime’.
“A great pop-py upbeat song that I’m really excited about … It’s one of the best tunes we’ve done, so I’m excited.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot want to play ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ in full at a special “club” concert.
Corey Taylor and co knocked Ed Sheeran off the number one spot with the record last month so it comes as no surprise that they are keen to perform the follow-up to 2014’s ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ in its entirety for fans.
Guitarist Jim Root told WMMR radio station: “I don’t know, man.
“I don’t know if we’re gonna [play] a [whole] record [live]. We did that with ‘Iowa’ at Knotfest, and it was cool — it was a cool thing.
“But it might be cool to do … We have been talking about maybe trying to find some way to play [the new Slipknot] album [‘We Are Not Your Kind’] in its entirety — from top to bottom.
“I would like to do that.
“I think that would be something really cool.
“And do it in a really toned down, stripped down, not big stage set, club atmosphere type of thing.
“I’d love to do something like that. And then maybe webcast it or something.”
Meanwhile, the band have another treat in store for their loyal following – who are known as Maggots – as they are set to release their unreleased 2008 LP ‘Look Outside Your Window’.
Taylor recently teased it is more of a “Radiohead vibe”.
He said: “We’ve been trying to find a way to release those songs for God knows how long … The stuff from ‘Look Outside Your Window’ is really, really — I mean, there’s no real way to describe it.
“It’s experimental, but it’s super vibey, super melodic. It’s really good. It’s hard to explain.
“There’s something about those songs.
“They’re very solemn, very energetic, very artistic. “For people who are used to a certain way of Slipknot sounding, this doesn’t sound anything like that. It’s much more of a rock vibe.
“Honestly, it’s much more of a Radiohead vibe, to be honest.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi is planning to release “a couple” of new songs before the end of the year.
The Scottish singer/songwriter has admitted he wishes he hadn’t had so much success with his breakthrough hit, ‘Someone You Loved’ – which was the best-selling song of the year and spent seven weeks at number one in the UK – because he has no idea how he’s going to top it.
However, he promised fans that he’s constantly penning new tunes and is hoping to share some of his new material soon.
Asked if he’s thinking about new music or just focusing on his tour, the ‘Grace’ hitmaker told Entertainment Weekly: “I’m thinking about it for sure because I’m like, Oh f*** how am I going to follow that f***ing song. I’m like, for f– sake, I wish it had done a little bit less well. But, yeah, I’m thinking about it.
“We’re hoping to release a little bit of new music at some point this year — not like an album, just, I’m working on a couple of songs that I’d really like to get out there.
“If it happens it happens, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.
“We’ll see what happens.”
The 22-year-old star insisted it’s important for him to keep writing otherwise it can “kind of dry up the muscle” and revealed he’s already coming up with ideas for a second album – the follow-up to ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’ – but he’s not writing songs for commercial gain.
He added: “I think it’s just important to keep writing because if you stop and just do the tour, it can kind of dry up the muscle a bit.
“I’m always writing and I’m definitely thinking about a second album because I’m like, ‘F*** it, here we go, let’s try this again.’
“I think what’s important for me, is just writing tunes that I like.
“Whether or not they f***ing bomb commercially doesn’t matter because I enjoyed writing them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has hit out at Kaiser Chiefs’ Nick ‘Peanut’ Baines after he mocked him for pulling out of Fall In Love Festival in Romania.
The former Oasis frontman was due to perform at the new music event on September 1, but decided against playing his set on the day due to safety concerns regarding the stage.
He tweeted: “Due to safety issues with the stage, we’ve been advised not to perform at the Fall in Love festival tonight. Absolutely gutted that we’ve come all this way and we can’t perform for you but safety comes first as always. Love LGx (sic)”
Kaiser Chiefs performed on the same stage 30 minutes before Liam was due on, and Peanut made a dig at Liam and quipped that they “must’ve broken it” by “putting on a rock n roll show”.
The ‘I Predict A Riot’ rocker tweeted Liam: “If we found out a stage wasn’t safe, we’d tell the other bands on there too, right? ‘Safety comes first as always’ – for everyone. We must’ve broken it by putting on a rock n roll show 30mins before you #fallinlovefest. (sic)”
Now the ‘Once’ singer has logged onto the micro-blogging site to take aim at the keyboardist for his remark and proceeded to tell him his band needs to get a “decent” tour manager who can spot these kinds of things – otherwise they’ll be heading for an “early bath”.
The outspoken rocker also couldn’t resist slagging off Peanut’s “daft looking head”.
In an expletive-laden rant, he said: “This 1s for P***FLAP out of the KAISER CHEIFS all that money you spend on props ie your daft looking head I’d spend on getting yourself a decent tour manager who spots these kind of things otherwise you and your band will be going for a early bath LG x (sic)”
Liam, 46, then followed up his tweet by adding that it’s “naff” people “like you” that give Leeds – where the Kaiser Chiefs are from – “a bad name”.
He wrote: “Ps it’s naff ***** like you that give Leeds a bad name as you were LG x (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has slammed his brother Noel for “sl***ing off” their younger fans.
The 46-year-old rocker has lashed out at the ‘Everybody’s On the Run’ hitmaker – who he’s had a very tumultuous relationship with since 2009 – after he said he hated the younger generation turning up at his gigs and requesting Oasis songs.
Taking to his Twitter account, Liam fumed: “The thing I’ve got a problem with about slagging of the yoot is that some of those kids are the kids of people who made us from day 1 your all welcome at my gigs bring your grandparents your auntys your uncles bring your pets as you were why me why not LG x (sic).”
Fans were quick to side with Liam as one follower said she was “upset” that she’s been called names by Noel simply for supporting his work.
The user – who goes by the handle Oasissongbird – said: “Exactly well said he has no right to be saying that and it’s upset me. I love Noel’s music and I love yours but I don’t know why I should anymore if I get called name for supporting him.”
To which Liam replied: “Im with you he’s ungrateful (sic).”
Another called CHRistinaK77 said: “Agree Liam. My 19 year old son is a fan and he’s been to 8 of your gigs with me. I’m glad you realize you have a whole new generation of fans, kids who are our age when we first fell in love with Oasis. Why would one push a whole new generation away? I don’t get it? (sic)”
Liam replied: “Coz he thinks he’s made for life he wants to be carful now bfore people start that wasn’t a threat it’s just my opinion (sic).”
Noel, 52, said over the weekend that he plays his new songs on purpose because he knows the teenagers – particularly those who come dressed as Liam – “hate it”.
He said: “When I play those songs it is an incredible thing since the documentary ‘Supersonic’ came out. It has reinvigorated a whole new fan base.
“Sadly they all do turn up to the gigs dressed as Liam with four pairs of sunglasses on, rolling around going ‘I’m mad for it’.
“The new stuff that I am doing they f****ing hate it, which makes me want to do it more. You little f***ing idiot, you are only 15. What the f**k! You were only ten when the band broke up. F**k off.”

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA Twigs is set to release her second album on October 25.
The 31-year-old singer will release ‘Magdalene’ – the follow-up to her 2014 debut album ‘LP1’ – next month, and has said the new album will explore the tumultuous five-year period between her two records, which has seen her undergo high-profile heartbreak following her split from Robert Pattinson, as well as the effects of laparoscopic surgery.
In a press release, she said: “I never thought heartbreak could be so all-encompassing. I never thought that my body could stop working to the point that I couldn’t express myself physically in the ways that I have always loved and found so much solace.
“I have always practiced my way into being the best I could be, but I couldn’t do that this time, I was left with no option but to tear every process down.
“But the process of making this album has allowed me for the first time, and in the most real way, to find compassion when I have been at my most ungraceful, confused and fractured. I stopped judging myself and at that moment found hope in ‘Magdalene’. To her I am forever grateful”.
‘Cellophane’, the lead single from the record, was released in April this year, and came as the first solo track she had released since 2016’s stand-alone single ‘Good to Love’.
And in a recent interview, Twigs said the album was inspired by the “sad place” she had found herself in mentally.
She explained: “I was in a sad place, mentally, and I didn’t want to come out of it. I don’t have many friends there, and wasn’t communicating with my friends or family here. I just went and locked myself off.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Barrowman is releasing a festive Christmas album and heading out on tour.
The actor, TV personality and singer will release ‘A Fabulous Christmas’ on December 6 and head out on an eight-date tour of the UK, kicking off at the Bristol Hippodrome on November 30, and concluding at Oxford New Theatre on December 14.
The record will mark the ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ 2018 contestant’s first on the iconic Decca Records.
John said: “It’s been great to get back into the studio recording new Christmas tracks.
“I love this time of the year, but this is the first time I’ve put together a full album of Christmas and festive music for the most FABULOUS time of the year.
“I had so much fun on my summer tour, bringing my husband Scott and my parents along for the ride, while celebrating 30 years on stage and performing some of my favourite songs from that time.
“I can’t wait to be back out there meeting more fans during this festive Christmas tour.”
As per a press release, the LP “breathes new life into festive favourites, with added John Barrowman flair and his trademark sense of humour.”
The album and tour news comes after the former ‘Torchwood’ star confirmed he’s joined the ‘Dancing On Ice’ panel.
The 51-year-old entertainer – who came fourth in the first series of the show in 2006 – has promised to bring a “fresh, fun and fab-u-lous” viewpoint to the skating show after it was revealed he’ll be replacing departing Jason Gardiner on the ice panel.
He said: “I am so excited to be returning to the ‘Dancing On Ice’ family.
“Unlike most I have been through the rigorous task of skating live as a contestant in the first series. This is a thrilling adventure for me and I hope to bring a fresh, fun and fab-u-lous angle to the judging panel.”
ITV bosses are thrilled to have John on board to cast his verdict on the skating celebrities alongside Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe said: “John’s quick wit, inimitable talent and all round fabulous personality make him the perfect addition to ‘Dancing on Ice’s all star panel.
“We’re looking forward to seeing him bring his own brand of sparkle to the show.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi says he and Kanye West are set to hit the studio to work on a follow-up to their joint LP ‘Kids See Ghosts’.
The pair teamed up on the “spiritual” record last year and the ‘Day ‘N’ Nite’ rapper has teased that there is more to come from the project.
Cudi also admitted he finds it “kinda weird” because he didn’t know whether the ‘Flashing Lights’ rapper was “serious” about collaborating at first.
He told Complex magazine: “Kanye already told me he wants to start working on the second one.
“It’s kinda weird, ’cause with the first album, I didn’t know how serious he was about making a collab album with me.”
But he soon realised the outspoken star was very into the project.
Cudi continued: “He had mentioned it, but I thought it was just a good idea he had in the moment.
“But then he kept bringing it up and kept having me come to his house, listen to music, and work on beats, so I was like, ‘Wow, he’s really into this.'”
The record was one of five that came out of the ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker’s ‘Wyoming sessions’, which also saw him produce his LP ‘ye’, Pusha T’s ‘Daytona’, Nas’ ‘Nasir’ and Teyana Taylor’s ‘KTSE’.
Cudi previously revealed that he made a conscious decision to adopt a more upbeat tone on ‘Kids See Ghosts’.
He shared: “I chose to write the light.
“Me and Kanye both agreed that we wanted to create a spiritual album.
“I know kids are used to hearing me talk about darkness, but I’m living in the light now.”
Meanwhile, the pair’s live show in support of the record hit the headlines after Lorde accused Kanye of “stealing” her production ideas.
The ‘Royals’ hitmaker commented on part of the duo’s collaborative show at Camp Flog Gnaw festival, which saw them performing in a suspended perspex box.
Noting she did something very similar for her festival run last year, she wrote on Instagram: “I’m proud of the work I do, and it’s flattering when other artists feel inspired by it, to the extent that they choose to try it on themselves.
“But don’t steal – not from women or anyone else – not in 2018 or ever.”
However, Es Devlin – who designed Lorde’s floating box on her ‘Melodrama World Tour’ – insisted they did not pinch the idea as it’s been around for some time.
She said: “The idea of a floating glass box of course is not in any way new and the geometry precedes all of us.
“The form finds another layer of resonance in each new context.
“I did not design the recent Kids See Ghosts performance: I worked with Lorde on the design for her Coachella performance : I admire both and see no imitation at work here: I think the more interesting point is that both artists, responding to our dis-jointed times, are being drawn to this gesture of the fragile floating room: the world un-moored from gravity : where the rules of civilisation and identity as we have known them may soon no longer apply. (sic)”
