OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra chose his signature baritone to stand out.
The ‘Shotgun’ hitmaker has become known for his unique sound and he admitted it was a very deliberate decision to sing deeper in an effort to give his music a twist compared to other artists in the same genre.
Speaking to GQ Magazine, he said: “There was a blond-haired singer-songwriter on every street corner. I asked myself, ‘What are you doing that is different?’
“So I used to tune my guitar down so it was lower and I’d try to sing with the biggest voice I could…”
And the 26-year-old singer revealed his second studio album ‘Staying at Tamara’s’ – which was released in May last year – was the product of a conscious effort to write the catchiest songs possible.
He explained: “This album was a product of me thinking, ‘What happens if I write the hookiest pop song that I can?’ ”
Earlier this year, George graced the infamous Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival in June, and he previously opened up about his set at the iconic Worthy Farm event – which saw him perform just before headliner Stormzy – and revealed the secret to his success this time round.
He said: “My tactic this year has been to treat it like any other show. In the past, I wouldn’t have had a few drinks the night before a big show.
“But I did and I just thought, ‘Well, actually, I love our set and I love our band and there’s really not much to overthink with an hour-long set.’ It’s really short. We call it the power hour.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney have reunited to cover a John Lennon song.
The Beatles drummer has announced details of his 20th studio album ‘What’s My Name’ which will see him collaborate with the ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker on a Lennon track called ‘Grow Old With Me’, and the inspiration came after a conversation with record producer Jack Douglas.
Ringo revealed: “Jack asked if I ever heard The Bermuda Tapes, John’s demos from that time…And I had never heard all this. The idea that John was talking about me in that time before he died, well, I’m an emotional person. And I just loved this song.
“I sang it the best that I could. I do well up when I think of John this deeply. And I’ve done my best. We’ve done our best.
“The other good thing is that I really wanted Paul to play on it, and he said yes. Paul came over and he played bass and sings a little bit on this with me. So John’s on it in a way. I’m on it and Paul’s on it.
“It’s not a publicity stunt. This is just what I wanted. And the strings that Jack arranged for this track, if you really listen, they do one line from ‘Here Comes The Sun’ [written by George Harrison]. So in a way, it’s the four of us.”
Meanwhile, the 79-year-old music legend admitted he still ind his career “a thrill” because he’s living out his teenage dream.
He added: “When I was a teenager, my mom always said, ‘Son, you’re at your happiest when you’re playing.’ And it’s still true to this day. I’m blessed.
“I had a dream back when I was thirteen, and just last night I played with all my friends at the Greek, and I’ve been putting together All-Starr bands for 30 years. And it’s still a thrill.”
‘What’s My Name’ was recorded at Ringo’s Roccabell West home, and he revealed he is much more comfortable working in a relaxed environment where he can still be close to wife Barbara.
He said: “I don’t want to be in an old-fashioned recording studio anymore, really. I’ve had enough of the big glass wall and the separation.
“We are all together in here, whoever I invite over. This is the smallest club in town. And I love it, being at home, being able to say hi to Barb, it’s just been good for me and the music.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975 will embark on a UK and Ireland arena tour in February 2020 in support of their forthcoming LP, ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’.
Matt Healy and co will release their fourth studio LP, the second in their ‘Music for Cars’ series, following the release of 2018’s ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’, on February 21.
And the ‘Love Me’ hitmakers will kick off their tour on February 15 at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Stadium, before stopping off at The O2 in London on the release date of the record, and finishing up the run at Dublin’s 3Arena on March 3.
The upcoming LP includes the lead single ‘The 1975’, which features spoken word from Greta Thunberg.
The 16-year-old Swedish environmental activist made her musical debut on the opening track on the LP, which sees her reading an essay over a minimal orchestral backing.
In one part, she says: “We have to acknowledge that the older generations have failed. All political movements in their present form have failed. But homo sapiens have not yet failed. Yes, we are failing, but there is still time to turn everything around.
“We are facing a disaster of unspoken sufferings for enormous amounts of people. And now is not the time for speaking politely or focusing on what we can or cannot say. Now is the time to speak clearly.
“So, everyone out there, it is now time for civil disobedience. It is time to rebel.”
The band are always looking at ways to minimise their environmental impact, and their record label Dirty Hit’s CDs and vinyl are now contained in paper packaging and not wrapped in non-degradable shrink wrap and they are planning to integrate a biodegradable shrink wrap in the future.
The 1975’s new merchandise line is also environmentally friendly, and features unsold previous collections repurposed into new pieces of memorabilia.
Meanwhile, the second single taken from ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ is in-your-face punk song ‘People’, which is Matt’s immediate reaction to the controversial Alabama abortion ban which was passed in May.
Matty explained: “I wrote ‘People’ on my tour bus in Texas on the day the abortion bill was circulating in Alabama.
“After playing our show there in Alabama, we were advised to leave quickly due to Alabama being an Open Carry state [ie, one where citizens may carry guns in public].
“So we did, and we soon stopped in a truck stop in Texas.
“I bought some Cheetos that were next to a collection of knives for incels and various bumper stickers encouraging women to give oral sex to truck drivers as some kind of trade for the privilege of being in the truck and in the presence of such a great man.
“I was pretty p****d off. I am pretty p****d off.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ella Henderson is back with her first new music in four years.
The ‘Ghost’ singer has released the soulful title track from her upcoming EP, ‘Glorious’, her first on Rudimental’s Major Toms label, and described the writing process as a “mind-cleansing” experience as she tackles “issues of self-doubt, body image and the fleeting nature of youth”.
Ella said: “Writing ‘Glorious’ was a mind-cleansing moment for me, it represents the first time I truly began to start celebrating everything I used to live in fear of. “Learning to accept and love yourself for who you are can be difficult in this day and age.
“‘Glorious’ stands for everything we should feel about ourselves – empowered and proud.”
The EP will be released on November 8, and follows her recent Jax Jones collaboration, ‘This Is Real,’ which featured on his 2018 ‘Snacks’ EP.
Ella was signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco after finishing sixth on ‘The X Factor’ in 2012, but despite seeing her debut album, ‘Chapter One’, go platinum she was let go from her recording contract in February 2018.
A spokesperson confirmed at the time: “Syco and Ella Henderson are parting company.
“We wish Ella all the best for the future and thank her for her hugely successful contribution over the years.
“Ella has been an incredible talent for Syco.
“But it was felt by everyone it was time for a change of direction.
“It is four years since she released her last album and it has been so stop-start since then.
“A new beginning seemed the best option for everyone.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ new single ‘A Dream Is All You Need To Get By’ is inspired by The Smiths.
The next track taken from the ‘This Is The Place’ EP is intended to sound like one of the many “iconic B-sides” by the legendary Manchester band, but Noel has admitted it would never be “as good” as Morrissey and co.
The former Oasis guitarist said: “To my ears it sounds like one of those iconic B-sides by The Smiths, only obviously not as good.
“A song that was born very quickly which is always a good sign … like it’s always existed … somewhere … Manchester probably.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker previously revealed the track ‘Riverman’ from his second solo LP ‘Chasing Yesterday’ was inspired by Morrissey playing him ‘Pinball’ by Brian Protheroe on a drunken night out with the ‘How Soon Is Now’ hitmaker and comedian Russell Brand in Los Angeles.
The 52-year-old star has recorded three new songs for the five-track mini album, which also includes the title track and ‘Evil Flower’, along with two remixes.
The new songs feature female backing vocalists and continue Noel’s exploration of psychedelic music.
‘This Is The Place’, which is released on September 27, follows May’s ‘Black Star Dancing’ EP.
Meanwhile, in March, Pete Townshend claimed the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker had been working with Oasis producer Dave Sardy again.
The Brooklyn-born studio wizard produced Noel’s former band’s albums ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ in 2005 and ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ in 2008, and the pair last worked together on Noel’s High Flying Birds’ self-titled debut record in 2011.
The Who guitarist revealed that the ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker had been in the studio with Sardy in Los Angeles, where the ‘Pinball Wizard’ rockers recorded some of their new LP ‘Who’.
In a studio blog post on their official website, Pete wrote: “Dave Sardy our producer went back to LA for a while to work with Noel Gallagher, but he’s back on Monday.”
Sardy – who is also an acclaimed film scorer and has worked with the likes of Paolo Nutini, Macy Gray, The Killers and Royal Blood – is known for producing big ballads.

OHMYGOSSIP — R.E.M. are donating all profits made from their previously unreleased track ‘Fascinating’ to the Mercy Corps’ Hurricane Dorian relief fund and recovery efforts in the Bahamas.
The ‘Nightswimming’ hitmakers – comprised of Peter Buck, Mike Mills and Michael Stipe – recorded the track back in 2004 at Nassau’s Compass Point Studio in the Bahamas, where they spent two months making music, and they were left heartbroken by the devastation the category two storm, which left more than 70,000 people homeless, caused this month.
The rock band’s founding member and multi-instrumentalist, Mike, said: “I have been fortunate to spend many weeks working and playing in the Bahamas, making friends and lots of music there.
“It breaks my heart to see the damage wrought by Hurricane Dorian.
“Please help us and Mercy Corps do what we can to alleviate the suffering caused by this catastrophe.”
‘Fascinating’ was originally intended to feature on the original master of 2001’s ‘Reveal’, and frontman Michael had even said it was his “favourite” of the tracks they penned for the LP, but it was just “too long”.
He said: “It’s really beautiful.
“It has a flute, oboe arrangement, but it made the record too long … and something had to go.”
The tune had also been rerecorded and intended for release on 2004’s ‘Around the Sun’, but once again it didn’t make the final cut.
Now it’s available to stream on Bandcamp with a minimum donation of $2 or more.
All the money made from the streams will benefit Mercy Corps, which is committed to reaching 3,000 families with emergency kits including mosquito nets, tarps, jerrycans, water-purifying tablets, rope and solar lanterns with USB chargers to help in dark conditions.
Neal Keny-Guyer, CEO of Mercy Corps, has thanked the ‘Losing My Religion’ hitmakers for their help.
He commented: “The Bahamas faces a long road to recovery after this devastating hurricane.
“We’re grateful to have R.E.M. in our global community of humanitarians, sharing their song with the world to help the people of the Bahamas recover and build back even stronger.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Mason was named Prog God at the 2019 Prog Rock Awards.
The Pink Floyd and Saucerful Of Secrets drummer won the top prize at the annual ceremony celebrating progressive rock music at Underglobe at the famous Globe Theatre in London on Thursday night (12.09.19).
The Al Murray-hosted ceremony also saw Bournemouth outfit Big Big Train take home Album of the Year for their 12th studio effort ”Grand Tour’, and space rock pioneers Hawkwind – whose frontman Dave Brock was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement accolade in 2013 – were handed the Classic Album prize for acclaimed 1975 LP ‘Warrior On The Edge Of Time’, which reached number 13 in the UK.
Meanwhile, Nick’s Saucerful Of Secrets supergroup – which sees him joined by Guy Pratt, Lee Harris, Dom Beken and Spandau Ballet’s Gary Kemp – who have been performing Pink Floyd’s early material, including tracks from early albums ‘A Saucerful of Secrets’ and ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’, around the globe since their first live shows together at London’s intimate Dingwalls venue in Camden last May, will embark on their biggest tour to date across the UK and Ireland next April and May.
The run will kick off on April 29 at the Dublin Convention Centre in Ireland, and includes a stop at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on May 7.
The shows will feature their renditions of songs from the psychedelic rock legends’ early back catalogue up to 1972’s ‘Obscured by Clouds’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna has apologised to her fans and admitted she won’t be releasing a new album any time soon.
The ‘Work’ hitmaker has been keeping her supporters, who are nicknamed the Navy, waiting for her ninth record since the release of ‘Anti’ in 2016 but she’s currently busy with other ventures, including her Savage x Fenty clothing range.
Asked when she will release an album, she said: “Whatever I do is gonna be confident whether it’s the album, perfume, lingerie, make-up, or fashion. Y’all gonna have to wait. Navy, I’m so sorry.”
But it seems the record is on the 31-year-old star’s radar as she dismissed suggestions she could perform at the upcoming Super Bowl Half Time show in February because she needs to work on her album.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I still got an album to finish. You gonna ask me about Super Bowl? My fans about to have my neck.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Diamonds’ singer has admitted she’d love to record something with “badass” Lizzo.
She said: “Gosh I love Lizzo. She’s so badass.
“I would collaborate with her on the lights for this interview right now, like Lizzo is so badass.”
It was claimed a few days ago that Rihanna’s new album will be released in December.
Several French reporters took to Twitter to on Sunday (08.09.19) the reveal the news was shared to them whilst attending Universal Music France’s Open Session event.
One of the tweets by journalist Steven Bellery is translated as: “The new album of @Rihanna will be released in December! #OpenSessionUniversal (sic)”
In June, the ‘Umbrella’ singer confirmed she was still working on recording the new material but didn’t have a release date in mind yet.
When asked how much longer fans would have to wait, she said: “I wish I knew. I have blocked off a solid period of time for the studio next month.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kacey Musgraves says experimenting with psychedelic drugs has “brought” her “closer to our planet”.
The country pop star has been open about her use of hallucinogenics in the past and has admitted her acid trips have helped her develop a greater appreciation for the environment.
She told Marie Claire magazine: “They’ve brought me closer to our planet and to humanity.
“I’ve walked away with a lot of little gifts.”
The 31-year-old Grammy-winner insisted she doesn’t care what other people think about her using the drugs because she is just being herself.
She said: “If I go down in flames for being me, well then, hey, I f***ing tried.
“At least I went down in flames for something that I was.”
The ‘Slow Burn’ singer also admitted she has a “rebellious spirit” and “sarcastic nature” and has always done everything in her career “completely” on her own “terms”.
She added: “From the get-go, I wasn’t going to sign a record deal unless I could completely do it on my terms.
“And yeah, there’ve been moments when I’ve been asked to change lyrics or to do things I wasn’t into. “But I’m not going to bend in hopes that it’s going to reach more people or whatever. It’s just not worth it.”
Kacey previously revealed she penned the track ‘Mother’ from her acclaimed 2018 LP ‘Golden Hour’ on an acid trip and spoke of the “positive effects” of psychedelics such as mushrooms.
She said: “I’m not going to tell anybody to run out and do anything that wouldn’t be suitable for their mind or their lifestyle, but it did have positive effects for me.
“It made me more compassionate as a daughter, as a granddaughter, as a partner.”
Speaking about how her trips give her “perspective” and make her “care for the Earth”, she added: “It put me in my place in the universe, gave me perspective that I think everyone should have.
“Yes, we’re all special, but we’re also nothing, just a fraction of a grain of sand in the book of time, and make what you have counts and make the relationships around you mean something.
“And care for the Earth because we only have one. “Whenever you are affected by hallucinogenics, especially mushrooms, you care for the Earth.
“When you’re, like, tripping, it just floods out.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ronson is set to get his own BBC Two special.
The ‘Late Night Feelings’ hitmaker will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ariana Grande, Harry Styles and Adele, as his glittering career – which has seen him work with pop royalty including the late Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and Miley Cyrus – is to be the subject of a one-off documentary on the channel.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, ‘A Star Is Born’ stars Gaga and Bradley Cooper – who Mark co-write the move’s soundtrack ‘Shallow’ for – Culture Club legend Boy George, legendary producer Quincy Jones and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon are set to talk about Mark’s impact on the music business.
Ariana was the last star to have her own hour-long entertainment programme on the BBC.
The ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ singer joined host Davina McCall to perform songs from her LP ‘Sweetener’ with the accompaniment of a female orchestra on the show which aired in November.
It marked the first time the 26-year-old star had appeared on BBC One since the One Love Manchester benefit gig aired in June 2017.
The concert – which also featured performances from the likes of Justin Bieber, Liam Gallagher and Little Mix – was put on to pay tribute to the 22 people who lost their lives and 116 who were left badly injured during the suicide bombing that occurred outside Manchester Arena after Ariana’s concert in May that year.
Meanwhile, Oscar-winner Mark recently had an unlikely Twitter spat with Lord Alan Sugar.
The ‘Apprentice’ honcho was not impressed with the ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker’s instrument-playing skills on the launch of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at the weekend, which saw him perform ‘Don’t Leave Me Lonely’ with YEBBA.
In a since-deleted tweet, he asked his followers: “Can Mark Ronson play an instrument properly? Or does he just, like, be on stage making a few noises supporting the real talent?”
Mark replied: “Believe it or not, I can both play AND instrument. Me also write good. Let me know if you ever want to come to a show and hear some noise (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith has tipped Sir Elton John or Dua Lipa to write the next Bond theme.
The ‘How Do You Sleep?’ hitmaker performed ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ for 2015’s ‘Spectre’ and he thinks it’s “crazy” that the 72-year-old music legend has never landed the gig and he hopes either the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker ends up soundtracking Daniel Craig’s last outing as 007 in ‘No Time To Die’ next year or the ‘New Rules’ hitmaker.
He told Hits Radio: “Everyone is talking about it now.
“I am excited to see who it is.
“I’d love Dua to do it.
“Remember that Madonna bond song (2002’s ‘Die Another Day’), it’s so could.
“If Dua could do something like that.
“But also, I actually think Elton John should so it, he has never done it which is crazy to me.
“He is still the most incredible singer so one day I think he should do it.”
Several names have been thrown around for the job, including Ed Sheeran, whose manager Stuart Camp recently revealed the ‘Perfect’ hitmaker is still “open” to making the theme song.
However, he claimed Bond producer Barbra Broccoli and her team don’t hold discussions for the gig until much later on.
He said: “We met [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli when we played Dublin [in 2017] and they were interested.
“Danny Boyle was attached to the film after that, who made ‘Yesterday’ [which featured Sheeran], so there was a close connection there.
“Obviously they changed directors but we’re still open to it, but they’re not even having those conversations yet.”
The Grumpy Old Management company owner denied the claims that the 28-year-old pop superstar is Daniel’s “favourite act” and that’s it’s already a done and dusted deal, but said it’s definitely something Ed wants to tick off his bucket list.
He continued: “Ed asks me [about it] every day. “And I say, ‘The thing they do last is the music’.
“Those [stories] that said he’s Daniel Craig’s favourite act and it’s all happening aren’t true.
“It’s certainly something he’d want to do though, it’s a box that’s still to be ticked, for sure.”
Ed previously revealed that he wrote a Bond theme a few years ago “just in case”.
Meanwhile, Dua’s name has also come up before, and although she denied the rumours, she said she would be up for it.
Whilst Sam himself and Adele, who did 2012’s ‘Skyfall’, have also been rumoured to record the 2020 theme.

OHMYGOSSIP — Wiley has reignited his feud with Drake and taken Ed Sheeran down with him.
The 40-year-old MC’s war of words with the Toronto rapper was first sparked back in April, when he labelled Drake a “culture vulture” for bringing out UK rappers J Hus, Krept & Konan, Afro B, Dave and Fredo on his ‘Assassination Vacation Tour’.
And now Wiley has declared the “war is back on” and accused Drake of blocking the release of his track ‘Bad Like We’ with Nicki Minaj and Popcaan whilst also taking aim at his “s***” OVO Sound record label.
In a series of tweets, he ranted: “I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ Is going to star … I was right @Drake Culute Vulture … Don’t ever sign to @OVOSound they give you s*** record deals and your only there to help @Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.Set up for you to fail. (sic)”
Wiley – who is known as The Godfather of Grime – also once again called Ed Sheeran a “culture vulture”.
He tweeted on Wednesday (11.09.19): “@Drake @edsheeran The 2 worse culture vultures on this planet (sic)”
The ‘Heatwave’ hitmaker recently called Ed a clout chaser, saying the chart-topping pop star has befriended certain people within the grime scene in order to gain popularity.
The ‘Boasty’ rapper initially said: “I’m sick of people using grime to look good for two minutes. (sic)”
But, Stormzy – who has teamed up with Ed on the track ‘Take Me Back To London’ – defended his showbiz pal.
He wrote on Twitter: “Wiley you know Ed been doing this from early, been a real one from early, can’t question that, you know I love you and respect you brother but nah don’t do that. (sic)”
However, Wiley refused to back down from his initial comments, posting a laughing emoji and writing: “shall I get my guitar and foot pedal out? (sic)”
The grime star – who previously worked with Ed on the pop star’s ‘No. 5 Collaborations Project’ in 2011 – added: “Anyone who uses us and our sounds are culture vultures… I’m getting my guitar and foot pedal out and I don’t wanna hear nobody moaning about nothing. (sic)”
Wiley previously claimed that grime music has been “watered down” since it first emerged as a credible genre.
Speaking in 2017, he explained: “No-one’s had a grime number one. Any number one that anyone’s had, it’s pop music.
“England is built on pop music, that’s why the show was called ‘Top of the Pops’. It’s a strong pop market.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Foals, Little Simz, NAO, Black Midi and Fontaines D.C. complete the line-up for the 2019 Hyundai Mercury Prize.
The shortlisted acts join previously confirmed performers Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon, Dave, IDLES, Cassie Kinoshi’s SEED Ensemble and slowthai.
The ceremony held at London’s Hammersmith Eventim Apollo will also see BBC Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac as guest presenter, with the job of revealing the overall winner of the prestigious Album of the Year prize on September 19.
BBC’s Lauren Laverne is the main host of the awards show, which will be broadcast on BBC TV and radio.
The BBC Music Hyundai Mercury Prize Podcast presented by Matt Everitt will also available on BBC Sounds from 10am.
Rapper Dave has been nominated for his acclaimed LP ‘Psychodrama’, rockers IDLES got the nod for ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ and slowthai is up for his debut studio album ‘Nothing Great About Britain’.
The list is completed by The 1975 , who have been shortlisted for the prestigious Album of the Year prize for their third studio LP ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’ and Foals, Little Simz, Fontaines D.C., NAO and Black Midi for their respective albums; ‘Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1’, ‘Grey Area’, ‘Dogrel’, ‘Saturn’ and ‘Schlagenheim.
Last year’s winning record came from rock group Wolf Alice who picked up the statuette for their second album ‘Visions of a Life’.
Annie, ‘On My Mind’ hitmaker Jorja Smith, grime superstar Stormzy, Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes and Vice UK editorial director and Guardian contributor Tshepo Mokoena will serve as judges.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue didn’t think her Glastonbury performance was “good enough”.
Despite setting the record for the most-watched festival performance on the BBC and getting rave reviews for her Sunday afternoon’s legends slot in June, the ‘Love At First Sight’ hitmaker has admitted she thinks she could have done a “better” job, though she admitted she can be “so hypercritical” of herself.
Kylie told GQ magazine: “My reaction was so at odds with the response and the reception it got.
“I hadn’t done it as well as I wanted.
“I’ve always been so hypercritical.
“Was this supposed to be the pinnacle of my career? It’s not good enough. I’m better than that.”
An average audience of 3.2 million watched her career-spanning set.
There was a peak of 3.9 million during closing numbers ‘Dancing’ and ‘Spinning Around’.
Ed Sheeran’s 2017 Glastonbury set had previously been the highest-rated, with 3.1 million viewers. The Australian pop superstar’s Glastonbury performance was 14 years after she withdrew from a spot on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm due to her breast cancer diagnosis.
As the crowd cheered her, an emotional Kylie addressed her fans: “I wished things were different – but life is what it is. We’re all here in this moment.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Especially For You’ hitmaker has also opened up about worries about becoming a “tribute act to herself”.
The ‘Golden’ singer admits she always feared how she would approach her career as it went on and she refuses to just keep singing her old hits.
Asked why it took her so long to get the credit she deserved, she said: “Tall Poppy Syndrome. I have copped that always, forever … I had to learn about that really early on. When I look back on some of those moments some of those interviews I had to do, were honestly hell. I am just really glad that I didn’t give in. And I say give in, as opposed to give up because there’s a big difference. Now I’ve reached a point where, I don’t want to become a tribute act to myself. No way. No thank you. And maybe Glastonbury has allowed me to do what I love, which is wipe the slate clean.”
And the 51-year-old singer insists she has no “master strategy” for the next few years and is just seeing how things come in the next five or ten years.
She added:”I never really plan, there’s no five-, ten-year master strategy, but I always think, ‘I wonder what’s round the corner?’ Maybe I’ll just take a peek. And to do that, to be in that position, you have to work. It’s physical, it’s emotional. That’s what I would like people to understand. I don’t want to be labelled a fighter. Maybe that’s the wrong word. I’m just … curious.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish and The 1975 lead the Q Award nominations with four nods each.
The 17-year-old singer and the ‘Love It If We Made It’ hitmakers have both secured a total of four nominations – out of seven categories – for the upcoming annual awards ceremony hosted by Q Magazine in association with Absolute Radio, which will be held at Camden’s Roundhouse in London on October 16.
Billie has bagged nominations for Q Best Track, Q Best Solo Act, Q Best Album, and Q Best Act In The World Today, and she will compete against her nomination rivals The 1975 in the Best Track, Best Album, and Best Act In The World Today categories.
The quartet – comprised of Matty Healy, Adam Hann, Ross MacDonald, and George Daniel – are also nominated for Q Best Live Performance, giving them a total of four nominations too.
Following closely behind with three nominations each are Stormzy – who is up for Best Track, Best Solo Act, and Best Act In The World Today – and Lewis Capaldi, who is in with a chance of winning Q Breakthrough Act, Best Track, and Best Solo Act.
Also securing nominations this year are the likes of Little Simz, slowthai, AJ Tracey, Liam Gallagher, Lana Del Rey and Dave, who all received two nods each.
The awards ceremony will be preceded by an exclusive and already sold-out pre-awards concert at the same venue on October 15, where Biffy Clyro – who are nominated for Best Act In The World Today – are set to headline.
