OHMYGOSSIP — James Arthur refused to write about himself on his latest album.
The ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ hitmaker – who won ‘The X Factor’ in 2012 – released his third record ‘You’ on October 18, and he admitted there was a conscious decision to focus his lyrics on his fans and friends instead.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “The theme of the album is that it is about you, it is for the fans or anyone but me.
“Before with my last album it was very autobiographical and personal. Although there is some personal stuff on ‘You’, I am trying to look at it from your point of view, the view of the listener and not mine.
“I am just sick of talking about myself and my life all the time, so I want the listeners and the fans to feel like they own this, the words.”
The 31-year-old singer – whose new album is the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Back From The Edge’ – also wanted to embrace a diverse range of styles in his music, and he thinks the LP reflects the variety in his own influences.
He said: “I have a lot of different styles of music on this album, we eased our way into it with ‘Falling Like The Stars’ with a classic kind of James Arthur sound.
“If you listen to it then you hear all of my influences, and all of that stuff people enjoyed on ‘The X Factor.’ ”
Meanwhile, James recently admitted that he’ll likely jump careers and move into acting once he’s satisfied his thirst for playing arenas with “a few more” tours.
He explained: “I feel like I have a lot more in me. I’d like this record to be a No.1, sell out a couple more arena tours then maybe call it a day and move into acting.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir James MacMillan, Gary Carpenter and Charlotte Harding have all received a double nomination in the Ivors Composer Awards nominations.
The prestigious awards honour the best new works by UK contemporary composers in classical, jazz and sound art, with 33 individual works nominated across 11 categories, including Orchestra, Solo or Duo, Sound Art, Chamber Ensemble and Amateur or Young Performers.
The Ivors Academy Chair, Crispin Hunt, said: “We’re incredibly excited to honour a wide range of phenomenal talent, all of whom have demonstrated the highest quality of composition craft in their fields, engaging with and challenging the world around them.”
The works reflect on an array of themes and as well as Gary, James and Charlotte’s – who is a first-time nominee – double nomination, Michael J McEvoy’s ‘Mass in Troubled Time’ responds to the #MeToo movement, and Emily Peasgood’s ‘Never Again’ commemorates the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are set to play an exclusive outdoor show in London in June next year.
The 52-year-old rocker and his band have announced they will play an exclusive outdoor show at London’s Kenwood House in Hampstead Heath on Sunday June 21 2020, as part of the Heritage Live concert series.
Noel – who was previously a founding member of rock band Oasis with his brother and bitter rival Liam Gallagher – formed his High Flying Birds band in 2011, two years after the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers split.
Since then the ‘Holy Mountain’ musicians have released three albums, the hits from which fans will be able to hear alongside Oasis classics when the 11-piece band – which currently features former Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Mike Rowe, and Chris Sharrock – takes to the stage at Kenwood House next summer.
The Heritage Live concert series is now in its third year at English Heritage site, and brings the best in live music to the most beautiful of outdoor settings at one of the capital’s most significant historic properties. The series has previously hosted artists such as Kris Kristofferson, Madness, and Hacienda Classical.
Tickets for the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds concert will go on general sale on Friday (01.11.19) at 9am, with a Ticketmaster pre-sale starting from Wednesday (30.10.19) at 9am.
All tickets will be available from ticketmaster.co.uk, where hospitality packages will also be available.
Further dates for Heritage Live at Kenwood House 2020 are still to be announced.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tame Impala’s upcoming album ‘The Slow Rush’ will be released on February 14.
The ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ hitmakers revealed last week that their highly anticipated fourth studio album – which is the follow-up to 2015 record ‘Currents’ – will be called ‘The Slow Rush’, and have now confirmed the record will hit stores on Valentine’s Day (14.02.20) next year.
Alongside the announcement, the band – fronted by Kevin Parker – also released an additional album track, ‘It Might Be Time’, which follows the release of previous track ‘Borderline’, that also appears on the album.
Earlier this year, Kevin also dropped a song titled ‘Patience’, which is not part of ‘The Slow Rush’ track listing.
‘The Slow Rush’ was recorded between Los Angeles and Kevin’s studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Australia, with all 12 tracks being recorded, produced and mixed by Kevin.
Speaking about the album earlier this year, Kevin said: “A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I’m being swept by this notion of time passing. There’s something really intoxicating about it.”
In May, Kevin revealed the five year wait between albums comes as he can’t “hurry” his creative process.
He said: “Part of the thing about me starting an album is that I have to feel kind of worthless again to want to make music.”
Fans can pre-order ‘The Slow Rush’ at tameimpala.com and all major retailers, and digital pre-orders will receive the two album tracks instantly.
The album will also be printed in four heavyweight double disc formats, including standard black, forest green, red and blue, and swirl.
The red and blue format is an indie retail exclusive, whilst the swirl edition is a Tame Impala webstore exclusive.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne is set to release his new album in January after hitting the studio during a difficult year.
The legendary hard rocker – whose most recent solo album was ‘Scream’ in 2010 – was hospitalised with pneumonia at the beginning of this year, and shortly afterwards suffered a fall at his LA home, which dislodged the metal rods in his spine that had been put in after a quad-bike accident in 2003.
Speaking to SiriusXM’s Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham, Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne said: “He had a very, very bad accident this year, but he’s getting there. “He’s just finished an album, and the album is coming out in January.”
Earlier this month, the 70-year-old Black Sabbath star – whose band released their final album ’13’ six years ago – once again was forced to postpone his UK and European tour dates.
The rescheduled concerts were due to take place from January 2020 through to March 2020, but Ozzy announced that he needs more time to recover from the surgery he underwent after his fall.
In a tongue-in-cheek video announcement posted on his social media profiles, in which he insisted he isn’t “dying” or “retiring”, the ‘Paranoid’ singer said: “Hi everyone, it’s me Ozzy, I’m just here to give you an update on my progression with this f***ing neck thing I’ve got.
“They thought I was dead but I’ve come back again … I’m here to give you an update on my condition.
“Well as you probably know or you may not know, at the beginning of this year, I had a bad fall, I just screwed up the vertebrae in my neck and had to have surgery.
“I’ve got more nuts and bolts in my neck now than my car.
“I’m not dying, I am recovering: it’s just taking a little bit longer than everyone thought it would.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Rowland hasn’t ruled out making new music with Destiny’s Child.
The singer insists she has no plans to do a new track with her bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, but has confessed that if they were to do something, she wouldn’t say anyway as she’d want it to be a “surprise”.
She told Entertainment Tonight: “I will say, we have made incredible music in the past, and I don’t know. Can we, like, have surprises in this day and age? I mean, I’m just saying. I just find it so interesting, everybody wants to know in advance. I know every time there is a decision to be made for myself and the ladies to do something, it’s usually a surprise. And our fans have always been so supportive and so awesome, like, I like to give them surprises. I’ve got nothing up my sleeve, I promise you, nothing up my sleeve, but yeah, I wouldn’t say anything.”
Earlier this year, Beyonce’s father Mathew insisted a Destiny’s Child reunion is at least three years away.
He said: “I certainly hope they do. It would be wonderful, wouldn’t it? But you know, things like that require years of preparation and timing. It takes years to put together a tour, get the band together, get the dancers together, then decide which size venues you’re going to have, start rehearsals, and it would probably be a world tour. .. it would two to three years, even if the answer was yes today.
“Age becomes a factor, time becomes a factor, the music environment becomes a factor. There’s a lot of factors that can make it a great idea or a not so great idea. They’re best friends, and that’s what it has always been for the Destiny’s Child members – having fun and sharing their music with their fans, and that’s what makes them so special.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Lightning Seeds are working on their first album in a decade.
The Liverpool group – who are best known for their chart-topping football anthem ‘Three Lions’, which they co-wrote with comedians Dave Baddiel and Frank Skinner in 1996 – have been back in the studio working on their first full-length project since 2009’s ‘Four Winds’.
Frontman Ian Broudie – who is joined by Martyn Campbell, Riley Broudie, Abi Harding and Jim Sharrock in the rock band – told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I’ve got about 12 tunes that are nearly ­finished and I really like them. I’m just trying to get them finished.”
Ian admitted there has been “phases” throughout the band’s career when his “heart hasn’t been in it”, but he’s never felt happier and can’t wait to get the new tunes out.
The producer – who has worked on records for the likes of Echo & the Bunnymen, The Fall, The Coral and The Zutons in the past – added: “I’m playing live as well and it’s lovely at the moment — there’s great people in the band and we sound really good.
“I think sometimes I have been through phases where it hasn’t sounded very good and my heart hasn’t been in it but this feels like a really good moment.
“I think it’s a great moment for me to get this record out in the next couple of months.
“Then I’d like to take everything more seriously again and have a good couple of years playing and doing some new stuff.”
The 61-year-old star also admitted that he suffers from “a little OCD” when he’s writing, which makes it difficult to concentrate on the lyrics he’s penning, as his mind can get “very cluttered”.
He explained: “When I’m writing I tidy up a lot, I’m a little OCD in that way I think.
“I need everything to be in place to concentrate.
“My main problem is that my mind gets very cluttered.
“I haven’t done an album for a long time and at the moment I’m just about to get one done.
“People go, ‘You’ve got writer’s block’. But it’s the opposite,
“I have so many ideas that I can’t quite focus on them and they get in each other’s way and it’s a bit of a gridlock and I want to switch from one to the other.
“People sometimes say to me, ‘How many songs have you got ready?’. And I go, ‘I’ve got nearly 40 but none of them are finished’.”
The ‘You Showed Me’ hitmakers reissued their seminal 1994 album ‘Jollification’ in September to mark its 25th anniversary.
And they will head out on a tour, which will see them perform the record in its entirety, in November.
On November 7, the band will be at the iconic London Palladium, before they play a hometown gig at the Liverpool Philarmonic Hall on November 27.
The run will recommence on March 12, 2020, in Gateshead and wrap in Manchester on March 28.

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson’s upcoming world tour will be one big “chavy” party.
The former One Direction star – who is known for his partying ways – has given his fans an insight into what life will be like for him on his first jaunt around the world next year.
The 27-year-old singer is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “Tour life is not the real world and that’s why I love it.
“I’ll wake up at 2pm, have a little bit of food, get ready for the show, have a decent night out.
“I like a chavy night out and what that means is it’s pretty cheap and cheerful basically, messy rough and ready that kinda do.”
The 43-date run is in support of his hotly-anticipated debut solo album, ‘Walls’, which is released on January 30, 2020.
The tour kicks off on March 9, 2020 in Barcelona, Spain, and will see him head to cities including Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Sydney, Tokyo and Rio De Janeiro, before heading to North America.
The tour currently concludes on July 23 in Vancouver, Canada, but Louis has teased even more shows are going to be added.
He said last week: “Been waiting for this moment since I started my solo career.
“Can’t wait to see you all on tour. There are also a few more dates going up at a later date.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Kill My Mind’ hitmaker recently admitted he thinks boyband stars are victims of “snobbery”.
Louis believes it’s especially tough to make the transition from being a boyband member to a credible rock ‘n’ roll star.
He explained: “I think you’ve just got to kind of earn your stripes as an artist, and be honest and be real – and whoever likes you, great.
“Whoever doesn’t … well, it is what it is, I suppose.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Haim’s upcoming single ‘Now I’m In It’ is about “spiralling” into depression.
The popular trio made up of sisters Danielle, 30, Este, 33, and Alana Haim, 27, will return with the “chaotic” track on Wednesday (30.10.19), and the former sibling has shared in depth how their battle with their mental health and being “stuck in a dark hole” inspired the emotional song.
Alongside screenshots from what appears to be the music video, Danielle wrote on the band’s Instagram page: “now i’m in it is about going through it.
a depression. not leaving the house type of s***. for my sisters and i, there have been times in our lives where we have felt like we are stuck in a dark hole. this track speaks to that emotion.
the track is chaotic- like my mind when i’m spiraling. fast-talking to myself- words jumbled up. heartbeat racing. these times are hard to forget and even harder to work through…. (sic)”
Danielle added how she has had to “deal with some s***” over the past few years and she hopes speaking out about her battle with depression will help any of their fans going through similar struggles.
She continued: “after being constantly on the go the past couple years, i didn’t wanna stop and deal with some s***. also, every day my sisters and i feel so f***ing lucky that we get to do this for a living!!! it seemed like stopping and dealing with these emotions would be letting everyone down. but every time I’ve been depressed- it takes me accepting that I need help, to start to get out of it. it’s gotten a little easier as i have gotten older to recognize the symptoms and remind myself that when this happens, i need to seek help. (shout out to my therapist!!) anyway, we all know it’s important to talk about this stuff. this one poured out of us. take care of yourself. be nice to yourself. and thank the ones around you that help u everyday. hope this helps anyone who is in it right now coming Oct 30 (sic)”
‘Now I’m In It’ is the follow-up to the just as emotional, ‘Summer Girl’, which was released in July.
The single was inspired by Danielle’s producer boyfriend Ariel Rechtshaid’s cancer diagnosis during the making of their second album ‘Something to Tell You’ – though thankfully he was given the all clear.
Meanwhile, the girls have promised that they have “many more jams” coming out this year.
Danielle said in August: “There will definitely be new music this year, we can tell you that.”
And her Alana added: “There will be many more jams coming!”

OHMYGOSSIP — La Roux appears to have shared a teaser for new music.
The ‘Bulletproof’ hitmaker deleted all of her posts on her Instagram and Twitter accounts last month, except for one about how great Tyler, the Creator’s London show was, before suggesting she was working on her first new music in five years.
Alongside a studio snap, the singer – whose real name is Elly Jackson – had simply wrote: “Back at it..”
All of La Roux’s social media pages, including Facebook, also switched to a new green and purple theme, hinting at a new era.
And now she has shared a clip with her name flashing to a static noise, which is captioned, “LOADING..”, suggesting her comeback is imminent.
La Roux formed in 2006 and originally featured producer Ben Langmaid.
The pair released their self-titled debut album in 2009, but Elly and Ben parted aways during early 2012, and she ended up finishing second album ‘Trouble in Paradise’, which was released two years later, by herself.
Elly previously revealed she separated from her bandmate because she had become a ”different person”.
The ‘In For The Kill’ singer claimed problems emerged between the pair because she spent so long touring their self-titled debut album in America and returned with a different set of influences.
She explained: ”It was always going to be difficult because we’d had a long time away from each other when I was on tour.
”We weren’t really that connected and I’d realised what kind of performer I wanted to be onstage, which led to me finding my first record restricting. I came back home and I felt like a different person.”
Although the pair initially returned to the recording studio together, they found themselves clashing regularly over their output.
Elly recalled: ”I came to him with some rare disco references and he made it very clear that he didn’t like them. There wasn’t a great deal of understanding.
”Sometimes I thought we were on the same level, but then from the production that would come to light, I didn’t feel that we were. I wasn’t happy with the way some of the demos were sounding, or how they felt.
”On the album, there are maybe two songs that have similar production styles to the way I started them with Ben, but they were essentially demo tracks and I felt they needed a lot of subsequent work.”
Although La Roux had been somewhat retired, Elly recently provided backing vocals on Tyler, the Creator’s track ‘Thank You’ on his recently released LP ‘Igor’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud says the most important part of his career is the “mutual feeling” he shares with his fans.
The ‘Loner’ hitmaker has admitted that he has never been concerned with writing “smash hits” and winning awards and just wanted to create a space for his fanbase which promotes “unity and positivity”.
Speaking in an interview with FAULT magazine, he said: “I always want to project positivity because that’s what my fanbase does.
“Yungblud is about promoting hope and unity instead of dividing people.
“It’s about bringing people up instead of pushing them down, it’s about battling hate with messages of unity and positivity and beating the hate away with a bouquet of flowers – that’s what Yungblud is all about.”
On his “magical” connection with his fans, he added: “I was never interested in the music industry games, I’m not interested in awards, they are amazing when they come about but I only care about the number of people I walk out to on stage.
“The most magical thing to me isn’t the gold disks or creating a smash hit, it’s about the mutual feeling I have with my fanbase.”
Yungblud – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – recently teamed up with Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds on the track ‘original me’ from his EP ‘The Underrated Youth’, and says he was the perfect person to work with because they both share “very similar messages” about equality, particularly regarding the LGBTQ+ community.
On how the collaboration came about, he recalled: “I was in New Orleans fighting with anxiety at the time and I received an email from Dan Reynolds saying I think we should get on a song together.
“I saw him at Leeds fest like five years ago and thought, ‘I want to be just like him’, because he’s the real deal.
“He’s a man with an incredible family who stands for incredible things and is a massive advocate for equality in terms of the LGBTQ+ community and the world. We have very similar messages.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wilco lead the acts confirmed for Black Deer Festival 2020.
Jeff Tweedy and co – who released their 11th studio album ‘Ode To Joy’ this month – will headline the annual Americana, Folk and Country music extravaganza, which returns to the idyllic Eridge Park in Kent, South East England, between June 19 and June 21.
Jeff said: “Black Deer is the kind of close-knit destination festival where Wilco fits in best. We’re looking forward to it.”
Also topping the bill is British-Irish folk-rock legendsThe Waterboys.
The eclectic line-up also boasts the likes of The Milk Carton Kids, Courtney Marie Andrews, The Felice Brothers, The Secret Sisters, Jack Broadbent, Madison Violet, The East Pointers, Midnight Skyracer, Native Harrow, The Dead Show, Irish Mythen and Amy Montgomery.
Plenty more acts will be announced in the coming months.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi feels like a “wrestler”.
The 23-year-old singer has topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart with his single ‘Someone You Loved’, and Lewis is still struggling to come to terms with his own success in the US.
He explained: “I feel like America’s sweetheart, at least for a moment.
“At least for a fleeting moment, I feel like I’m the sweetest heart in all of the U.S. of A. It feels good. I feel terrific.
“I feel like I’m a wrestler, and I’m just walking out (to the ring) and there’s an American flag, and I’m saying ‘U.S.A.! U.S.A.!’ That’s what I feel like, a wrestler.”
Despite this, Lewis – who was born in Glasgow, Scotland – cannot understand or explain his own popularity in the US.
Speaking to the ‘Billboard Pop Shop Podcast’, Lewis shared: “I have no f***in’ idea. But I’m happy!
“I have no clue why this piano ballad has done what it’s done. I never thought … we were writing a big song here … I just wrote a song and thankfully people seemed to like it and maybe I’ll be able to pay rent for the next few months!”
Lewis plans to toast his recent success by returning to the UK soon and partying.
He quipped: “I’m on tour for the next two and a half, three weeks. So, after that two and a half, three weeks, I’m gonna go home, and I’m gonna get so f***ed up, you have no idea.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs considers himself to be in “semi-retirement”.
The ‘I’ll Be Missing You’ hitmaker has confessed he’s not actively making music at the moment, because if he was, he’d be on all the top ten records.
He said: “To be honest, I’ve been in semi-retirement. If you don’t see my name on all the Top 10 records, that means I’m not making music.”
And the 49-year-old rapper confesses he is “contemplating” if there is a role for him in music anymore.
After revealing he was bringing back his TV talent show search, ‘Making The Band’, back, he added to Rolling Stone magazine: “I’m contemplating, ‘Is there a role for me in music now?’ I just know that for me, I would only be able to sign legends. To be honest, my decisions will be made through God. I’m at another frequency and level of music. It would have to be something that God fully put in my heart, like when I heard Biggie or I heard Mary [J. Blige].”
Meanwhile, Diddy previously confessed he is fed up that black artists are not being “invested” in.
Speaking in 2018, he said: “You have these record companies that are making so much money off our culture, our art form, but they’re not investing or even believing in us. For all the billions of dollars that these black executives have been able to make them, [there’s still hesitation] to put them in the top-level positions. They’ll go and they’ll recruit cats from overseas. It makes sense to give [executives of colour] a chance and embrace the evolution, instead of it being that we can only make it to president, senior VP … There’s no black CEO of a major record company. That’s just as bad as the fact that there are no [black] majority owners in the NFL. That’s what really motivates me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Selena Gomez’s new music is something she’s “passionate about”.
The 27-year-old singer dropped two new songs – ‘Lose You To Love Me’ and ‘Look at Her Now’ – this week, and has said she doesn’t want to shy away from writing songs that are meaningful to her, because she knows there are “million of people” who can relate to the “experiences” she’s had.
She said: “I spent years living in fear of speaking up or saying things and I guess that’s just the people-pleaser in me. And there was a huge moment where I just stopped caring, and I can’t tell you when that moment was, I really can’t.
“But it’s not that I’m trying to make it specifically about just one subject in my life. It’s more just how I embody all of the experiences into one, and I fully believe that this is always just something that I’m going to be passionate about. I don’t want to not express what I feel because I know there’s millions of people who feel the exact same way.”
Selena’s track ‘Lose You To Love Me’ is believed to be about her break-up from Justin Bieber – who is now married to Hailey Bieber – but over the last few years, Selena has also endured heartbreak following her split from The Weeknd, as well as having undergone a kidney transplant amid her battle with Lupus, and having publicly sought help for her mental health.
The star admits her experiences have helped to shape her upcoming album, and although she has been working on the record for years, she says she only recently started writing the songs she wants to include on the tracklist.
Speaking to Zane Lowe for his new Apple Music Beats 1 radio show ‘New Music Daily’, she said: “I learned a lot from the last album and I wanted to take what I’ve learned and turn it into something even better and I’m glad I did because this year, everything kind of just started pouring out of me. I started saying things in a way that I’ve never been able to articulate them before, so it was actually exactly when it needed to happen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mel B admits the Spice Girls’ Las Vegas residency is a “little bit up in the air”.
The 44-year-old singer and her bandmates – Mel C, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner – enjoyed a successful reunion stadium tour across the UK this summer and they have been in talks for a six-week show in Sin City, however, nothing has been finalised yet but Scary Spice is still pushing the group to head to America for the proposed shows.
When asked if the residency will go ahead in an interview with OK! magazine, Mel said: “I can’t do any public announcements about any of that until everything is signed off, so right now it’s just a little bit up in the air. But I’m always the one that’s pushing everything to go back on course, so we’ll see! It took me five years of saying it to get the UK tour happening, so hopefully it will happen again.”
The Spice Girls – minus fifth member Victoria Beckham – intended to “set up camp” in Vegas to allow them to “fly in and out” so they could all spend time with their families in between dates.
Mother-of-two Geri, 46, previously admitted she wasn’t sure if she wanted to take the ‘Spice World – 2019 Tour’ outside of the UK because of her commitments as a mother to her kids, 12-year-old daughter Bluebell, 12, and son Montague, two.
