OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay will play a “couple more shows” in America before they stop touring due to environmental concerns.
The ‘Orphans’ hitmakers recently admitted they won’t be going out on the road to promote their eighth record ‘Everyday Life’ until their live runs are sustainable but frontman Chris Marin admitted the band still have a few gigs in the pipeline.
Speaking to Radio X’s Gordon Smart about their performance at London;s Natural History Museum earlier this week, Chris said: “I mean we’re only doing about three or four gigs so it felt just great and… I don’t know… we just started to feel good and then we’ll stop again.
“We have a very set plan and I think we’ll do maybe a couple of shows in America, in Los Angeles and that’ll be it.”
The London gig marked the ‘Yellow’ group’s first UK show in three years and Chris admitted it felt like a fresh start for them.
He said of the show: “It was lovely, and it felt very much like our first gig here in a way. It felt like ‘OK, we’re starting all over again’, which I like, I like that feeling.”
After being together for over 20 years, the group find it “hard” to choose their setlists from their extensive back catalogue and know they can’t please all of their fans.
Chris said: “It’s hard to know what to play except to go on what feels right and accept that some people will be super-into it, some people won’t ever have heard it before and some people will be really not into it.
“That’s one of the only down sides of having lots of songs, you know, we’re so lucky but we’re never going to please everybody unfortunately. But we try!”
The 42-year-old singer – who is joined in the band by Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion – recently admitted the group want their tours to be “giving” rather than “taking”.
He said: “Our next tour will be the best possible version of a tour like that [last world tour] environmentally. We would be disappointed if it’s not carbon neutral.
“We’ve done a lot of big tours at this point. How do we turn it around so it’s no so much taking as giving?
“We’re taking time to see how our tour can be actively beneficial… All of us have to work out the best way of doing our job.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy turned down a collaboration with Jay-Z.
The 26-year-old rapper has admitted the ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker was lined up to appear on his and Ed Sheeran’s track ‘Take Me Back To London’ after a suggestion from the ‘Shape of You’ star, but Stormzy rejected the opportunity because it was “not the right song” for them to work together on.
He explains: “We were all in the studio. In my Glasto performance, there was a video [of me and Jay-Z].
“We went to the studio, we all went to make a song and the song was ‘Take Me Back to London’. We were all in the studio writing, me, Ed Sheeran and Jay Z.
“Before that I loved ‘Take Me Back To London’ because I thought it was just going to be me and Ed and then Ed was like, ‘Jay is getting on it.’
“It blew my mind. Jay-Z is my number one hero inspiration. We got into the studio and we were writing for this song and then he just stops the music and he said, ‘Tell me about London, I need some inspiration.’
“Me and my manager were telling him about London and we had this powerful, beautiful, greatest conversation of my entire life so that’s where that footage [at Glastonbury] came from.
“We were talking about everything from black culture, community, music, his journey, my journey, it was the greatest conversation of my life.
“At the end he’s smiling, we were probably talking for an hour and he goes, ‘So what do you think of the song?’
“I had verbal diarrhoea. I was like, ‘I love this song but you being on the song changes everything.’
“‘Take Me Back to London’ with me and Ed is one thing, but now that Jay-Z is on it … This is Jay-Z and Stormzy, what he means to culture, what I mean to culture … I said, ‘Is this the song?’
“I didn’t think it was the song … in my heart, in my soul musically, I just had verbal diarrhoea.
“I felt proper bad because I was like, ‘You’re saying no to Jay-Z.’ ”
Stormzy admits Jay was “shocked” to be snubbed from the song, but he “fully understood” the reasoning behind the decision.
Speaking on Saturday night’s (30.11.19) ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’, he adds: “I was like, ‘If you didn’t ask me this, I would have just written my verse and we would have done it and I would have never questioned it but now that you’ve asked me, no.’
“I was like, ‘I know how it goes, Mr Z. You are the most brilliant, busy man and I will probably never get this opportunity ever again but hand on my heart, I don’t think this is the right song for us. I don’t know why I’m saying this to you but this is not the song.’
“It is the greatest story of life. But put it this way, Jay-Z was super proud and super shocked and taken aback by the fact that this kid told him.
“He fully understood. We spoke and he made me feel [proud of what I did.] I left there thinking [I was an idiot] but then I had the honour of seeing him again and having the conversation and he let me know to my face that, what I did [was courageous] he couldn’t believe that I did it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey will release his new album in March 2020.
The 60-year-old musician is set to drop his 13th solo record ‘I Am Not A Dog On A Chain’ – the follow-up to this year’s ‘California Son’ – next spring, and it’s said the LP marks the end of his contract with BMG Records.
According to his website Morrissey Central, he described the album as: “The very best of me… too good to be true… too true to be good.”
The upcoming collection has recorded with producer Joe Chiccarelli in St-remy, France and it’s said the first single will be ‘Bobby, Don’t You Think They Know?’
The new track will feature vocals by Thelma Houston, while the b-side is a cover of The Love Affair’s hit ‘Rainbow Valley’.
The announcement also revealed BMG will be re-issuing remasters of several Morrissey records next year.
The planned re-releases – ‘Southpaw Grammar’, ‘Maladjusted’, ‘You Are The Quarry’, ‘Ringleader of the Tormentors’, ‘Years of Refusal’ and ‘Live at the Hollywood Bowl’ – will all get updated artwork and sleeve notes.
Meanwhile, ex-Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher insisted last month that the former Smiths star’s controversial political opinions wouldn’t stop him collaborating with him if the opportunity arose.
He recently explained: “I’d like to write a song with Morrissey… When I say I want to write a song with Morrissey, I’m talking about the guy who was in The Smiths.
“I’m not talking about whatever he’s up to now with his stance on politics.
“Because his voice is embedded in my youth, in my bedroom. I would love to write a song with [him]. Because he’s got a great voice.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish says her single ‘Everything I Wanted’ is about her relationship with her brother.
The 17-year-old singer – who collaborates on her music with her elder sibling Finneas – has opened up on the process of writing her latest hit, and she explained how one line “paved the way” for the track as a whole.
Appearing in a behind the scenes ‘making of’ video for Beats by Dr. Dre – which marked the launch of Billie’s own Beasts Solo Pro headphones – she said: “Finneas came up with, ‘As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you’.
“We decided to make it about our relationship and how we help each other and like deal with things together.
“It just completely like paved the way for the rest of the song.”
Finneas, 22, admitted the duo make sure both of them can relate to the lyrics they’re working on, because it makes the create process easier.
He explained: “When Billie and I write songs together, we’re having to write lyrics that we both identify with so we can continue the narrative.”
Billie recently revealed she’s so pleased with how the record turned out because the song has “so many meanings”, with every lyric having a “specific instance” that it was written about.
And the ‘Bad Guy’ has plans to write down what every lyric in the new song means to her, although she may not let anyone see it.
She previously said: “It feels very satisfying. Very satisfying. And also the song has so many meanings. Every lyric in that song has a very specific meaning and specific instance that it was written about.
“I just want to just sit down and write what every single line means just for myself, even if it’s never shared with anybody.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May says performing with Adam Lambert is a “privilege”.
The legendary Queen guitarist has heaped praise on the ‘American Idol’ star – who has joined Brian, 71, and drummer Roger Taylor, 69, and fronted the band live since 2011 – as he shared a clip of the 37-year-old singer belting out ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ after stumbling on the video through a fan page.
He wrote on Instagram: “Jeeeeez! Just stumbled upon this stunning fragment on a fan site. Is this guy the nuts or what?!!
“We’ll have the privilege of working with him again son – once we get back in the saddle mid January for an audacious long haul around the world. (sic)”
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmaker also pondered whether anyone else in the world can match Adam’s vocal talents as he shared a stunning live rendition of his song ‘Closer To You’ from an appearance on the ‘Late Late Show’.
Again posting the clip on social media, he added: “You know – I do sincerely wonder if, in the 7.7 Billion people on Planet Earth there is another voice quite like this.

Earlier this year, Brian paid Adam perhaps the biggest compliment possible as he claimed the frontman could “all the stuff” late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury did “and more”.
He said: “Adam can do all the stuff that Freddie did and more. It doesn’t matter what you throw at Adam — he can do it…
“He’s a born exhibitionist. He’s not Freddie, and he’s not pretending to be him, but he has a parallel set of equipment. We treat Adam exactly the same as we treated Freddie in almost every way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paloma Faith wants to release her new album in 2020.
The 38-year-old singer has revealed she has big plans for next year and she’s working hard to finish the follow-up to 2017’s chart topping collection ‘The Architect’.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, Paloma – who performed at Amazon’s Home of Black Friday launch event on Wednesday (27.11.19) – said: “Hopefully, the album’s next year.
“Trying to finish it. I was trying to finish it before starting the filming but it looks unlikely.”
Before the record is complete, the multi-talented star will be busy working on the upcoming second series of ‘Pennyworth’ – in which she appears as villainous sociopath Bet Sykes – as filming gets underway in January.
She added: “It’s going really well. I think people are relatively scared of my character. It’s nice to be somebody else.”
The ‘Crybaby’ hitmaker previously opened up on her role, and how she “learnt to love” her “not so nice” alter ego.
She admitted: “I’m completely immersed in playing another person called Bet Sykes who’s not that nice but I’m kind of in my weird, sadistic way, learning to love her too. I kind of love this horrible person as well, I’m finding new answers in her horrific personality.”
Meanwhile, in the past Paloma has offered advice to budding young artists looking to break into the music business, and she insisted the key to success is “resilience”.
She said: “Resilience is the key to success in this industry. There’s so many knock backs, and if you take them all too literally then you won’t be successful. If you just sort of brush yourself off and carry on [you’ll be okay].”
The Home of Black Friday is open to the public for four days from November 28 to December 1 at 7 Addington St in Waterloo, London.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher will headline Reading and Leeds Festival 2020.
The ‘Shockwave’ hitmaker has become the first name announced for the festival – which takes place in both Reading and Leeds on one weekend – next year, after he teased the news on Twitter.
Liam, 47, posted on his account: “Reading and Leeds c’mon you know LG x (sic)”
And just over an hour later, the Facebook pages for both Reading Festival and its Leeds counterpart confirmed the news, telling fans it was an “early Christmas present”.
Reading Festival’s Facebook page posted: An early Christmas present for you! Your first #RANDL20 HEADLINER has arrived LIAM GALLAGHER Tickets on sale now www.readingfestival.com/tickets (sic)”
Leeds Festival posted an identical update, but changed the link to take fans to the page to buy tickets for the Northern version.
The festival site also posted a picture of Liam’s original tweet, and wrote: “Nice one Liam… kept that quiet (sic)”
The news comes after the former Oasis frontman recently announced he is set to play a huge homecoming show at Manchester’s Heaton Park.
He tweeted: “So if you haven’t heard I’m playing HEATON PARK 12th June 2020 I’ll be playing songs from my 2 no 1 solo albums and yes you guessed it some stone cold OASIS classics c’mon you know LG x (sic)”
The ‘One of Us’ singer also teased the possibility of airing some new material when a fan jokingly suggestion ‘C’mon You Know’ could be the name of his next record.
He replied: “I may treat you to a new song.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney has released brand new tracks ‘Home Tonight’ and ‘In A Hurry’.
The Beatles legend released his 17th solo album ‘Egypt Station’ – his first since 2013’s ‘New’ – in September 2018, and he surprised fans on Friday (22.11.19) by dropping the two tracks recorded during the sessions he had for the record with Adele and Liam Gallagher’s producer Greg Kurstin.
‘Home Tonight’ features bold guitars, brass and even clapping, whilst ‘In A Hurry’ starts off with anthemic piano, before busting out a stunning bluesy guitar solo.
The two songs were released digitally via Capitol Records, and will also be available as a double A-side 7-inch vinyl as part of the Record Store Black Friday event on November 29.
The new songs come after it was confirmed that Macca is set to headline Glastonbury in 2020.
The ‘Hey Judge’ hitmaker will be bringing the Saturday night to a close on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in Somerset, south west England, on June 27 for the event’s 50th anniversary.
Responding to an announcement on the festival’s official Twitter page on Monday (18.11.19), McCartney replied: “Hey Glasto – excited to be part of your anniversary celebrations. See ya next summer!”
Organiser Emily Eavis was thrilled by the news, and insisted booking the ‘Let It Be’ hitmaker was “an absolute dream come true”.
She wrote on Instagram: “IT’S REAL!! So excited.. Having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid next year is an absolute dream come true.
“There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary.”
The 77-year-old musician had hinted at the news earlier in the day, as he shared a cryptic riddle on social media.
He tweeted an image of composer Philip Glass, actress Emma Stone and rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Chuck Berry, with the surnames combining as ‘Glass-Stone-Berry”.
Now, it’s official and the legendary star will be returning to the festival for the first time since 2004, when he topped the bill alongside fellow headliners Muse and Oasis.
Glastonbury will also see Diana Ross play the Sunday afternoon’s Legend’s slot on June 28.

OHMYGOSSIP — MTV Push: Ones To Watch 2020 nominee Celeste has revealed last year’s winner Lewis Capaldi is a fan of her music.
The soul singer – who has supported the likes of Neneh Cherry and Janelle Monae – has been shortlisted for the same rising star accolade that the ‘Grace’ hitmaker won this year, and she has revealed they are both fans of one another’s work.
Speaking to Marco Gandolfi for Music-News.com, Celeste said: “I am a fan of Lewis Capaldi and I think we write with some of the same writers and stuff.”
Asked if they plan to collaborate, Celeste said: “I don’t know. “But I heard that he’s listened to my songs – so that’s cool.”
Celeste is among 10 artists who have been shortlisted for the prize, including ‘Loner’ hitmaker Yungblud, singer/songwriter JC Stewart, rappers Aitch and Deno, and alternative pop band Easy Life.
Plus Joel Corry – whose single ‘Sorry’ featured on ‘Love Island’ this year – singer/songwriter Joy Crookes, Lily Moore, the daughter of late guitar legend Gary Moore, and indie rockers Sea Girls.
The up-and-coming star says it’s a “huge honour” to be recognised by MTV, and revealed how she was inspired by her idols Lauryn Hill and Jay-Z’s MTV Unplugged performances in 2001.
She said: “Unfortunately I was slightly too young to have witnessed Nirvana’s 1994 MTV Unplugged, but luckily I can still remember the first time I heard and saw Lauryn Hill and Jay-Z and how in awe I was of those artists at the time, I remember kneeling at the television, sitting right in front of it so I couldn’t miss a moment, sooner rather than later my mum told me I shouldn’t sit so close to the television otherwise I’d get square eyes, so I had to take a tiny step back but it didn’t stop me from absorbing and listening to the artists I loved whenever I had the chance.
“So to be recognised by a platform that had such a part to play in some of these artists most iconic moments is a huge honour.”
On winning this year, Lewis said: “2019 has been absolutely crazy for me, since being named MTV Push’s One to Watch 2019 – it was an unreal start.
“Thank you so much MTV for the support.
“I’m buzzing to see who is nominated this year – good luck to all involved.”
The likes of Mabel, AJ Tracey, Anne-Marie, Krept & Konan and more have previously been crowned MTV Push’s One to Watch.

OHMYGOSSIP — John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have teamed up on a rendition of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s festive hit ‘Happy Christmas (War Is Over)’.
The ‘All of Me’ hitmaker and his 33-year-old model wife – who have daughter Luna, three, and 18-month-old son Miles together – have recorded their own version of the 70s’ Christmas song, which was originally recorded by John & Yoko/Plastic Ono Band with the Harlem Community Choir as a protest song against the Vietnam War, exclusively for Amazon Music.
The couple’s little girl also makes an appearance on the track, and John says the song’s call for peace is just as important as it was then.
He said: “Recording this song was such an inspiration, and I got to include my wife and my daughter in the process.
“We all came together to sing a beautiful song that needs to be heard, and I’m thrilled for my fans to be able to hear it on Amazon Music.
“In their original version, John Lennon and Yoko Ono were speaking to that desire for peace, and I think it’s a good message for us right now.”
The three family members laid down their vocals at the Blakeslee Studio in North Hollywood, California, and instead of the Harlem Choir, young members of The Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center provided the harmonies.

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix have received an award for performing 12 shows at the O2.
The ‘Woman Like Me’ hitmakers – comprised of Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson – will end their 2019 ‘LM5 Tour’ at The O2 Arena on Friday (22.11.19) night, where they already performed five times this year.
However, before they take to the stage, the girl band were presented with an award to mark their total 12 outstanding performances at the world leading venue.
Vice President of Venue Programming at The O2, Emma Bownes said: “It’s been an honour hosting Little Mix for what has now been 12 incredible shows at The O2. Just as expected the four tours have generated a lot of excitement across the ages selling in excess of 184,000 tickets. We’d like to thank Little Mix and SJM for letting us be part of their journey.”
Little Mix took home the crown when they won ‘The X Factor’ in 2011 and have since sold over 184,000 tickets at the O2 across four world tours.
They went on to sell over 50 million records worldwide, collect over 17 million Spotify listeners, receive over 3 billion Youtube views, and collate 12 billion streams worldwide.
Now, the world’s biggest girl group has released their first-ever Christmas song.
‘One I’ve Been Missing’ was released on Friday and was written by Little Mix’s very own Leigh-Anne with Tre Jean-Marie, Jez Ashurst, Sinead Harnett and Rachel Furner.
The brunette beauty was inspired by 1950’s ballads as a beautiful ode to festive love, steeped in sleigh bells and luscious harmonies.
Leigh-Anne said: “We absolutely love Christmas, it’s our favourite time of the year. We’ve always wanted to write and release a Christmas song, we were just waiting for the right moment! The minute I finished writing ‘One I’ve Been Missing’ I couldn’t wait to play it to the other three girls.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Swizz Beatz believes “music and art are brothers and sisters”.
The 41-year-old hip hop artist – whose real name is Kasseem Dean – loves to paint as well as make music, and has become an avid collector over the years, as well as voicing his support for artists getting paid for their work.
And now, the record producer has said his two passions, music and art, are more closely linked than people might think, as he says they both “speak” to him.
He explained: “Music and art are brothers and sisters since day one. And they always spoke to me and through me and I think they always spoke to and through everyone as well. But the businesses made them feel like a separate thing.
“At the end of the day it’s all art. Name one musical colour that didn’t include art and name one artist today you venture doesn’t listen to music. They always went together. And using both of those brothers and sisters to fuel education, positivity, entry points in the world I think is amazing.”
Swizz – who has Egypt, nine, and Genesis, four, with his wife Alicia Keys, as well as Prince, 19, Kasseem Jr., 12, and Nicole, 11, from previous relationships – says it took him a while to feel as “comfortable” in the art world as he does in the music one, and says his fans are now beginning to appreciate the other side of his life.
He added to Forbes magazine: Well I definitely felt comfortable in the music world. I didn’t feel real comfortable in the art world. I didn’t really know the art world. I just was always a fan of art because I was always around it growing up in the Bronx. But as I grew to learn more about the market, the space and the culture, it became real fascinating to me on how I could participate in both sides and almost have two different lives.
“I definitely have an art crowd and I definitely have a music crowd and they’re just now merging. When I announced that I was doing art over 20 something years ago it wasn’t the cool thing to do and be involved in music, which is the reason I always kept it to myself.
“So as I got older and started collecting more I thought, ‘Wait a minute, I shouldn’t be holding back that I collect art. It’s something amazing and other people should try it as well.’ I was painting at that time also, which was like my therapy. Painting was my therapy. And then it just all kept going from that point on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles’ ex-girlfriend features on ‘Fine Line’.
The 25-year-old singer/songwriter revealed that the track ‘Cherry’ on his upcoming second album was inspired by a particularly devastating break-up and he included a voice message from his ex at the end of the song.
Harry has not named the ex but it is believed to be model Camille Rowe, who he dated between 2017 and 2018.
Speaking to Zane Lowe for ‘New Music Daily’ on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, Harry said: “When we listened back to the album, I asked her to add it in. I think she liked [the song.]
“‘Cherry’ is about… I wanted it to reflect how I felt then. I was feeling not great. It’s all about being not great. Because, you get petty when things don’t go the way you want it. There’s parts that’s so pathetic.”
Cherry isn’t the only track which has been inspired by Camille as ‘Watermelon Sugar’, the second single from the album, also has a link to the stunning model.
Back in 2017, Camille, 33, cited ‘Watermelon Sugar’ by Richard Brautigan as one of her favourite books, in an Elle interview.
And Harry’s close friend Tom Hull – who worked on the new album – previously revealed how Harry’s break-up with Camille affected the singer’s new music.
He said: “He went through this breakup that had a big impact on him,” Hull said. “I turned up on Day One in the studio, and I had these really nice slippers on. His ex-girlfriend that he was really cut up about, she gave them to me as a present – she bought slippers for my whole family. We’re still close friends with her. I thought, ‘I like these slippers. Can I wear them – is that weird?’
“So I turn up at Shangri-La the first day and literally within the first half-hour, he looks at me and says, ‘Where’d you get those slippers? They’re nice’. I had to say, ‘Oh, um, your ex-girlfriend got them for me.’ He said, ‘Whaaaat? How could you wear those?’ He had a whole emotional journey about her, this whole relationship. But I kept saying, ‘The best way of dealing with it is to put it in these songs you’re writing.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Van Morrison feels that he is in the most prolific songwriting period of his career.
The ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ singer has released six albums in the past three years and admits that he has “momentum” at the moment.
When asked if he feels like he’s on a roll, Morrison told Uncut magazine: “I do, definitely. I mean, it’s difficult to answer these kinds of questions, because one doesn’t really know. It just is what it is, and it feels like there is momentum at this time.
“I don’t really like to question what I do … I don’t have to, you know. It’s not necessary for me to question it. It’s probably just momentum.”
The 74-year-old musician also admitted that he has especially enjoyed making his last two LPs, ‘The Prophet Speaks’ and ‘Three Chords & The Truth’ with organist Joey DeFrancesco, as it helped him fall back in love with the recording process.
Morrison said: “I think I started to enjoy it again. I did two albums with Joey, working really fast, like the way we used to work in the old days. I haven’t been used to working that way since the 60s and early 70s but getting back to working that way, I got on a roll and I’m enjoying it more now.”
The Northern Irish singer also admits that not working under pressure makes the creative process more enjoyable.
He explained: “There is a difference when you are doing it under duress. In the old days I was doing it under duress. The way things were worked out, I was doing it in between gigs, and it was very pressurised.
“Now it’s not, because I manage it and produce it myself. I’m not going through a record company. I deliver the product to the record company. In the old days it was a very different thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Guy Chambers and Robbie Williams wore Christmas hats in May to get into the festive spirit when they were recording the ‘Angels’ hitmaker’s new album.
The 56-year-old songwriter – who collaborated with Robbie on several of his hit LPs, including last studio release ‘The Heavy Entertainment Show’ – has revealed the pair decked out the recording studio and wore the paper hats to help them get in the right mood as they wrote songs for Robbie’s ‘The Christmas Present’.
In an interview on BBC Radio 2, Guy quipped: “We had Christmas hats in May but no mince pies.”
The duo created the double album – which was released on Friday (22.11.19) – with the focus on trying to create new Yule Tide standards, even though one half of the LP is made up of covers.
Guy said: “I’ve been working on that all year. It’s a double album, one’s called ‘Christmas Present’ and one’s called ‘Christmas Past’. ‘Christmas Past’ is old covers, songs you’d know like ‘Let It Snow,’ ‘Winter Wonderland.’ We’ve done a tremendous version of ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ the Slade song, but it’s a swing song with Jamie Cullen, that’s a stand out track. ‘Christmas Present’ is new songs.”
Guy and Robbie reunited for the first time since Robbie’s ‘Let Me Entertain You Tour’ in 2015.
The pair are on a creative roll once again as they have penned the songs for upcoming stage musical ‘The Boy in the Dress’, which is based on the book of the same name written by David Walliams.
Guy has spilled that the tracks have an “early Britpop” sound.
He said: “This is big, and it’s on up at Stratford-Upon-Avon for three months until I think the end of February. Rob and I have written all the songs, so it’s very much got an early Britpop feel to it like the first album. It’s that sort of style of Robbie, feel good. Hopefully it’ll move to the West End this time next year, they’re looking for a theatre for it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Not in This Lifetime’ tour has grossed $584.2 million.
The three-year world tour – which kicked off in 2016 – has come to an end and with 5,371,891 tickets sold, it is the third highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore.
The tour began at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, California on April 1, 2016 and ended at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas earlier this month and reunited Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, who hadn’t played a show together since 1993.
Meanwhile, Slash recently confirmed Guns N’ Roses are planning to release a full album rather than a spate of standalone singles.
While it is known the ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmakers have been working on new material, the legendary guitarist admitted the US rockers are aiming to drop a full record of new tunes.
He said: “I think at the end of the day, everybody wants to have a full album released. I don’t think that’s really changed all that much.
“But there’s a different way of putting stuff out initially nowadays more so than … I mean, there’s always been the single, but now you sort of look at that preliminary release a little bit differently now. All things considered, it’s like the Wild West out there; there is no formula for any of it.
“I haven’t seen any routine kind of thing that works. I mean, you can do any one of a million different things to releasing a record. But at the end of the day, I think that we will ultimately release a full album.”
Slash is “really excited” about the new material, and says the songwriting process has involved everyone when they are in town together.
He added: “Obviously, everybody knows that we’re working on new material, which is really exciting, and so, that’s really primarily what the focus is.
“Everybody has been sort of, like, when we’re in town, working on it. And then when we’re out of town, obviously not. So it’s been that kind of thing.”
