OHMYGOSSIP — Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol, The Chemical Brothers and Duran Duran are set to headline The Isle of Wight Festival in 2020.
The ‘All Night Long’ hitmaker and Scottish superstar will top the bill at the annual music extravaganza held at Seaclose Park in Newport, Isle of Wight, on Friday, June 12.
Lionel, who has never played the legendary festival before, said: “I’m excited to be playing at The Isle of Wight Festival next summer. “It’s the first time I’ve performed at the festival and I can’t think of a better way to start the summer!
“It’s a festival steeped in music history – Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones have all headlined and I’m honoured to be joining the esteemed list! See you all there.”
Whilst ‘Grace’ hitmaker Lewis, who is planning to party hard after his set, said: “Buzzing to be playing The Isle of Wight Festival next year!! Going to try and keep the other day clear so I can get a few scoops in after I play! See ya next year yaaaaaaas (sic)”
Also playing on the Friday is Pete Tong, who will put on his ‘Pete Tong Presents Ibiza Classic’ dance show, and singer/songwriter Becky Hill.
Saturday, June 13, will see Irish chart-toppers Snow Patrol close the main stage, along with The Chemical Brothers, who will also make their debut at the IOW Festival.
‘Play God’ hitmaker Sam Fender and James Arthur are also performing on the main stage.
Duran Duran will play their only UK festival date, closing the festival on Sunday, June 14.
They are joined by Dido and the recently reunited Supergrass.
Also playing across the festival are Example, Happy Mondays, JC Stewart, Kaiser Chiefs, Maisie Peters, Primal Scream, Shed Seven, Sigma (DJ set) and The Manor.
Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder said: “The Isle of Wight is such a great festival – we’re really looking forward to being back there again in 2020!!”
More acts will be confirmed in due course.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kraftwerk have been confirmed as headliners for All Points East 2020.
The electronic pioneers – who developed a unique style of “robot pop”, which combines dance music with pop melodies and repetitive rhythms – have a special treat in store for fans, as they will be marking their 50th anniversary with a special 3D spectacular at the festival at London’s Victoria Park on May 29.
As per a press release, Ralf Hutter and co will be “combining digital surround sound with breathtaking 3D animations and robotics”.
The All Points East show will be Kraftwerk’s only concert in the UK next year.
Also performing on May 29 are Stooges legend Iggy Pop, former Smiths star Johnny Marr, Kraftwerk-inspired duo The Orb, Portland four-piece Chromatics, Mercury-prize nominated singer/songwriter Anna Calvi, Sonic Youth legend Kim Gordon, hip-hop stars Grandmaster Flash, French singer Jehnny Beth and goth-pop star John Maus.
It was recently announced that Tame Impala will headline the festival on May 23, for what will be their only UK date next year.
Kevin Parker and co will be joined by the likes of Caribou, Glass Animals, Whitney and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever.
Fans will no doubt get to hear tracks from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album, ‘The Slow Rush’, which is released on February 14.
Alongside the album announcement, the Australian group also released an additional album track, ‘It Might Be Time’, which follows the release of previous track ‘Borderline’.
Last year, All Points East saw the likes of LCD Soundsystem, The xx, Björk, Catfish & The Bottlemen, The National and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds entertain the masses.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Buble is set to perform at castles, stately homes and cricket grounds in the UK next year.
The ‘Home’ hitmaker – who released his eighth studio album, ‘Love’, last November – will perform several major open-air concerts as part of his ‘An Evening with Michael Buble’ set in summer 2020.
The run will kick of on July 24 at Bath Royal Crescent in Somerset, south west England, and also see the Canadian star perform at the likes of Warwick Castle, Harewood House in Leeds, Yorkshire, and Exeter’s Powderham Castle in Devon, before wrapping at The 1st Central County Cricket Ground in Hove, East Sussex, on August 7.
It will be the first time Michael, 44, has played the historic venues.
The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ hitmaker kicks of the UK leg of his winter run of the tour in Liverpool tonight (03.12.19) at the northern city’s M&S Bank Arena.
The UK shows this side of 2020 wrap with two nights at London’s The O2 in London on December 9 and December 10.

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake and Ed Sheeran have been named Spotify’s Most Streamed Artists of The Decade.
The ‘God’s Plan’ rapper has earned himself a staggering 28 billion streams on the global streaming service, whilst Ed has notched up 2.3 billion streams alone for his hit single ‘Shape of You’.
In third place on the Most Streamed Artists of The Decade list is rapper Post Malone, followed by Ariana Grande and Eminem.
Whilst on the Most Streamed Tracks of The Decade, second place is taken up by Drake’s ‘One Dance’, followed by Malone’s ‘rockstar’ featuring 21 Savage, ‘Closer’ by Halsey and The Chainsmokers and Ed’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ earned him a second place in the top 5.
Meanwhile, the Most Streamed Song of 2019 was ‘Señorita’ by Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes, which scored more than a billion streams.
Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’ followed closely behind with 990 million.
The 17-year-old pop phenomenon’s debut album, ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ was also named Most Streamed Album of the Year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bolton is returning to the UK next year for the ‘Love Songs Greatest Hits Tour’.
The 66-year-old music legend has announced 13 dates across the country next autumn, which kick off on September 24 at the Bournemouth International Centre, and includes a stop at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on October 9, before wrapping at Blackpool Opera House on October 22.
The tour announcement follows Michael’s ‘A Symphony of Hits’ LP, which was released earlier this year to mark his 50th anniversary in the music business, and featured his best known recordings re-arranged and recorded with the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Speaking about the collection of classic hits, which included ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ and ‘The Prayer’, Bolton said: “Over the years I have had the honour to collaborate with so many of my musical heroes and I’ve had the pleasure of delving into diverse musical genres.
“To celebrate my 50th year in entertainment, I’ve selected a collection of songs that really marked the chapters in my career and it has been my dream to bring them to life with a symphony orchestra.
“As a little blue collar boy from Connecticut, I can honestly say, that if you put your gift to work and commit fully, that’s when dreams come true!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May has undergone an operation to his leg.
The 72-year-old guitarist had surgery, which he has described as a “snip”, to his calf muscle on Monday (02.12.19) in a bid to help ease a “painful heel situation” he has been suffering with when on tour.
Brian hopes to be back to full fitness ahead of Queen + Adam Lambert’s ‘Rhapsody Tour’ which is scheduled for 2020.
Sharing a snap of himself giving the thumbs up from his hospital bed on his Instagram account, he wrote: “I’m done ! After a snip to my calf muscle, I’m feeling good ! The theory is that it will release the excess tension in my Achilles’ tendon and get me out of a painful heel situation I’ve been in for many months. I had the problem all through our last tour of the USA – and although adrenaline got me through, my running around was severely curtailed, and there were a couple of nights when I really couldn’t move at all around the stage (nobody noticed, it seems !). So now I’ll be taking it easy just a bit for a while, but full recovery should be just in time for getting back out on tour in January – hopefully with a good pair of heels ! THANKS for your good wishes, folks. No cause for alarm. Bri (sic)”
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmaker made a second post thanking all of his fans for their get well soon messages.
He said: “Thanks for your kind messages folks. I’m doing fine this morning – a little sore but home and ready for a relatively relaxing day. As you can see, everything still works ! Still got my Sympathy Bandage and my anti-clot sock on – but they come off tonight. There’s a small band-aid underneath covering a very small incision. I actually CAN walk, but stairs are a bit of a challenge !! Onwards ! Have a good day folks ! Bri (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ is Apple Music’s most streamed song worldwide for 2019.
The 20-year-old singer and rapper made history when his hit single – which features country star Billy Ray Cyrus – spent 19 consecutive weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100, and it has now been confirmed that so many people listened to the track, that it has topped the list of Apple Music’s most streamed songs globally for 2019.
The list also features Post Malone and Swae Lee’s track ‘Sunflower’ in second place, whilst Ariana Grande holds the third and fourth positions with ‘Thank U, Next’ and ‘7 Rings’ respectively.
Billie Eilish rounds out the top five with ‘bad guy’, and the 17-year-old singer’s album, ‘When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’, was named the most streamed album on the platform globally.
On the Apple Music UK streaming chart, Lil Nas X finished in second place, as he was beaten by ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker Lewis Capaldi.
In the list of the most streamed artists by genre on the Apple Music platform, Billie Eilish bagged the title in the alternative category, Ariana Grande won for pop, Drake won for hip-hop, Queen for rock, and BTS for K-Pop.
Meanwhile on Shazam – which is an app that can identify music, movies, and TV shows based on audio – Billie Eilish’s ‘bad guy’ was the most-Shazamed song of the year globally, closely followed by Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Someone You Loved’, and ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones and I.
‘Dance Monkey’ was also the most-Shazamed song in a day, both for 2019 and of all time.
In the UK, the most-Shazamed song in a day was ‘Sorry’ by Joel Corry, which broke the record in July after it was used on reality show ‘Love Island’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Mortimer would be up for an East 17 reunion, but has joked he would have to lose weight first.
The 49-year-old singer/songwriter has not performed with his bandmates – Brian Harvey, John Hendy and Terry Coldwell – since 2013 and although there are no plans to get back together with the guys anytime soon he won’t rule it out in the future.
But Tony admits he’s not in the same shape as he was in the group’s 90s heyday and would have to go on a diet to shift a few pounds.
When asked about the possibility of a reunion on ‘This Morning’, he said: “You can never say never but I’ve got to lose about eight stone, I can’t do those moves anymore.”
This year marks 25 years since East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ was the UK Christmas number one and Tony admits he feels “blessed” that his song has become part of the nation’s festive playlist.
He said: “It doesn’t feel like 25 years, I haven’t changed.”
The musician also spilled that ‘Stay Another Day’ was meant to be just an album track on the group’s second studio LP ‘Steam’, as the ballad – which was a departure from East 17’s trademark sound – was a deeply person song that Tony penned about the death of his brother.
Speaking to hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, he said: “It was a very delicate album track that was never going to be released but people liked it. It got released and became the biggest hit we ever had.
“My brother committed suicide a couple of years before, so I used that to turn a song about loss into a love song. It was a really personal song.”
Tony has contributed to a new version of the song which is being released to raise money for Calm, a charity that aims to prevent male suicide. He plays piano on the track, which is sung by a choir of 100 school children from Waltham Forest.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has been forced to cancel a string of UK shows to prevent damage to his vocal cords.
The 23-year-old Scottish singer lost his voice during a performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in London last week and after scrapping gigs at the UEA in Norwich on Saturday evening (30.12.19) and Nottingham’s Rock City on Monday night (02.12.19) he has now, on doctors’ advice, had to pull out of his scheduled concert at the O2 Academy Sheffield on Tuesday evening (03.12.19).
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker has been told to cancel the gigs to prevent “long-term damage” to his voice.
Following his gig in Brixton, Lewis wrote to thank his fans on Instagram after they helped him get through the performance with his sore throat.
He wrote: “Last night in Brixton was one of the hardest performances I’ve had to do and thank you so, so much to everyone that came down and helped out with the tougher parts of some of those tunes.
“I’m so sorry that my voice wasn’t as up to it as I had hoped it would be. As you know, I have been struggling with my voice since touring in America and the European leg and much of this UK stretch of this tour has been difficult. I’ve had many URGENT check ups with various doctors and under each of their professional advisories I need to take it very easy and unfortunately have to cancel the next three shows. I desperately want to be able to perform every show I advertise and put on for you all. And I’m so sorry to everyone that bought tickets to the cancelled shows. Genuinely hate letting ANYONE down.”
Lewis also has dates scheduled for Edinburgh and his hometown of Glasgow at the end of this week but it is not yet known if he will be able to take to the stage.

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce’s father has released an album of previously-unheard Destiny’s Child material.
Mathew Knowles – who used to manage the group – released the 15-track ‘Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story Presents Girls Tyme’ onto various streaming services earlier this week.
The album features recordings from an early version of the band, who were previously called Girls Tyme and featured Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Robertson
Tracks on the record include ‘Sunshine’, ‘Say It Ain’t So’, ‘Girl Tyme Fun’ and ‘Teacher Fried My Brain’.
Mathew – who has also released a book called ‘Destiny’s Child: The Untold Story’ and is working on a musical – recently insisted he still has a “lot of responsibilities” relating to the group, despite them having split in 2006.
He said: “I still officially manage [Destiny’s Child]. Every day I have the responsibility of licensing. I have a lot of responsibilities that folks don’t know.”
Meanwhile, Kelly – who was joined by Beyonce and Michelle Williams in the classic final line-up of the group – recently admitted she is still in regular contact with her former bandmates but they never discuss the possibility of getting back together.
Asked about reuniting the ‘Survivor’ group, she said: “No, we haven’t talked about it. We talk about everything else but that.”
Kelly did however divulge which song from their back catalogue she dislikes the most.
She spilled: “My least favourite would have to be ‘Bug A Boo.’ “There’s like this one part on the bridge where I’m like, ‘Ugh!'”
The R&B pop trio reunited for a medley performance at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013, and Kelly admitted that she couldn’t take it all in because she was so nervous.
She said: “I don’t remember what happened.
“I just remember looking at my feet and I don’t remember.”

Ariana, 26, agreed to collaborate on Idina’s feminist Christmas song ‘How About a Hand for Mrs. Claus’ and Idina, 48, says the whole experience was incredible.
She told Billboard: “Ariana was so generous in her crazy touring schedule to find time to record this song with me, and I’m indebted to her.
“She would send me like every two lines that she recorded, and she would send like a little voice memo and go, ‘How’s this? Do you want me to do a riff here?’ And I’d say, ‘Just be you! I don’t care, you’re Ariana Grande!’ And she’d say, ‘No, I want you to be happy.’ And then she’d say, ‘What if on this lyric…’ And I’d say, ‘Yes! That’s great.’ And then I said, ‘Wait, we’re going to put in eight extra bars of a drum fill just so there’s room for you to do a crazy Ariana riff.’ It was just so funny, and she’d keep sending me little MP3s of what she was doing and making sure that I was happy. Every time, I was like, ‘I’m happy!'”
Idina also revealed she turned to her ‘Frozen’ songwriters to pen the track for her.
She explained: “That was written by Bobby and Kristen Lopez, who are the composers of all the ‘Frozen’ music. … So I called them and I was like, ‘Would you guys write me an original song for a holiday album?’ And they were like, ‘Sure!’ And Kristen came back and she was like, ‘OK, I wrote you a feminist song, a feminist Christmas song that’s called “How About a Hand for Mrs. Claus,” because she never gets any respect.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jay-Z’s entire discography has returned to Spotify on his 50th birthday (04.12.19).
The streaming service took to social media to wish the ’99 Problems’ rapper, who owns rival streaming app Tidal, a happy birthday and to announce that all of his music is now available to stream again.
They tweeted: “Happy birthday, Hov
Welcome back to Spotify.http://spoti.fi/JAYZ (sic)”
The majority of the hip-hop superstar’s music vanished from Spotify and Apple in April 2017, but was only restored on Apple Music.
Spotify said at the time that this was done “at the request of the artist”.
He did however leave behind his joint Linkin Park LP, ‘Collision Course’, plus ‘Reasonable Doubt’, ‘In My Lifetime, Vol. 1’, and ‘Vol. 2…Hard Knock Life’.
Fans can now stream records such as 2007’s ‘American Gangster’, 2003’s ‘The Black Album’, and 2011’s ‘Watch The Throne’.
The ‘Holy Grail’ rapper’s wife Beyonce made a similar move in April, when her album ‘Lemonade’ was made available on Spotify and Apple Music after being a Tidal-only release.
It’s not been stated whether Jay’s music will remain on Spotify or whether it’s just for his birthday.
Meanwhile, UK rapper Stormzy recently revealed he turned down the chance to collaborate with the ‘Empire State of Mind’ hitmaker.
Jay was lined up to appear on his and Ed Sheeran’s track ‘Take Me Back To London’ after a suggestion from the ‘Shape of You’ star, but Stormzy rejected the opportunity because it was “not the right song” for them to work on together.
He explained: “We were all in the studio.
“In my Glasto performance, there was a video [of me and Jay-Z].
“We went to the studio, we all went to make a song and the song was ‘Take Me Back to London’.
“We were all in the studio writing, me, Ed Sheeran and Jay-Z.
“Before that I loved ‘Take Me Back To London’ because I thought it was just going to be me and Ed and then Ed was like, ‘Jay is getting on it.’
“It blew my mind. Jay-Z is my number one hero inspiration. We got into the studio and we were writing for this song and then he just stops the music and he said, ‘Tell me about London, I need some inspiration.’
“Me and my manager were telling him about London and we had this powerful, beautiful, greatest conversation of my entire life so that’s where that footage [at Glastonbury] came from.
“We were talking about everything from black culture, community, music, his journey, my journey, it was the greatest conversation of my life.
“At the end he’s smiling, we were probably talking for an hour and he goes, ‘So what do you think of the song?’
“I had verbal diarrhoea. I was like, ‘I love this song but you being on the song changes everything.’
“‘Take Me Back to London’ with me and Ed is one thing, but now that Jay-Z is on it … This is Jay-Z and Stormzy, what he means to culture, what I mean to culture … I said, ‘Is this the song?’
“I didn’t think it was the song … in my heart, in my soul musically, I just had verbal diarrhoea.
“I felt proper bad because I was like, ‘You’re saying no to Jay-Z.'”
Stormzy admitted Jay was “shocked” to be snubbed from the song, but he “fully understood” the reasoning behind the decision.

OHMYGOSSIP — Massive Attack have announced a “super-low carbon” show in Liverpool.
The ‘Unfinished Symphony’ group – made up of Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall – have been working with The Tyndall Centre For Climate Change Research organisation by handing over data to show how their gigs are impacting the environment.
And they’ve now announced a show at an as-yet-undisclosed location in the northern city, where they aim to have a “dramatic reduction” in the carbon footprint left behind from their crew, transport, production, and the way in which their fans travel to and from the venue.
Robert said: “We’re looking forward to exploring the social and scientific solutions to the challenges we face in transitioning to a low-carbon society.
“This project offers an opportunity to work with new and progressive identities in the planning, energy, technology and transport sectors.”
He added: “This comes after years of participation in large scale music events that have had questionable sponsors on the ticket and, too often, very little enthusiasm for meaningful change.”
The band are hoping to become as carbon neutral as possible, and they’ve been praised for providing the opportunity to “really reshape the impact of live music events” with the Liverpool show.
Professor Carly McLachlan, the director of The Tyndall Centre, said: “Climate Emergency requires rapid shift from theory to practice.
“The Liverpool event offers a great opportunity to bring together the different organisations needed to really reshape the impact of live music events.
“This collaborative and learning-by-doing approach will allow a real-world exploration of where the quick and easy wins are, and where we need to work together to tackle the more stubborn challenges.”
Massive Attack’s “super-low carbon” gig announcement comes after Coldplay announced they won’t be going out on the road to promote their eighth record ‘Everyday Life’ until their live runs are sustainable.
Frontman Chris Martin said: “Our next tour will be the best possible version of a tour like that [last world tour] environmentally. We would be disappointed if it’s not carbon neutral.
“We’ve done a lot of big tours at this point. How do we turn it around so it’s no so much taking as giving?”
While the 42-year-old musician wants all of the group’s future tours to “have a positive impact”, he explained how everyone involved needs to help them get to that point.
He added: “We’re taking time to see how our tour can be actively beneficial … All of us have to work out the best way of doing our job.”

OHMYGOSSIP — HAIM, Liam Gallagher and The Chemical Brothers are set to headline Latitude Festival 2020.
The ‘Want You Back’ hitmakers – comprised of sisters Alana, Este, and Danielle Haim – will top the bill at the Suffolk music extravaganza for the first time on July 17, six years after making their debut at the festival.
HAIM said: “Latitude has always been one of our favourite festivals to play, now we are so excited to come back and headline.”
Former Oasis star Liam – who performed a surprise set at last year’s festival – is set to headline on the Saturday night, June 18.
The ‘Shockwave’ hitmaker said: “Yes brothers and sisters, I’m glad to announce I’ll be headlining Latitude Festival next Summer. LG.”
And the festival will wrap in style with a performance from party-starters The Chemical Brothers on July 19.
The likes of The Lumineers, Michael Kiwanuka, Keane and Charli XCX are also among the first wave of performers confirmed for the event, which opens its gates on July 16 at Henham Park in Suffolk.
Plus, Phoebe Bridgers, The Futureheads, Girl Ray, Marika Hackman, Pat Thomas & Kwashibu Area Band, Joy Crookes, Velvet Negroni, and Inhaler.
‘Gone’ hitmaker Charli, who is set to perform on the BBC Sounds stage, said: “I can’t wait to headline the BBC Sounds stage at Latitude next year, my show is gonna be the most iconic party you’ve ever been to – swear on my life.”
‘Bedshaped’ hitmakers Keane added: “Latitude is one of our favourite festivals to attend.
“We’ve seen some brilliant gigs there, from Portishead to Kraftwerk – just to name a couple. We can’t wait to be on the bill next summer.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey’s upcoming LP ‘Manic’ features interludes from Alanis Morissette, BTS’ Suga and rapper Dominic Fike.
The ‘Nightmare’ hitmaker took to social media on Tuesday (03.12.19) to share a video of herself writing out the song titles for her hotly-anticiapted follow-up to 2017’s ‘Hopeless Fountain Kingdom’ in a notebook with a black marker pen.
She simply captioned the post: “January 17, 2020.”
Halsey previously collaborated with K-pop superstars BTS on ‘Boy With Luv’.
Whilst many fans speculated that the track entitled ‘Dominic’s Interlude’ might be about her ex-boyfriend Yungblud – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – she tagged rapper Dominic Fike, whose music video for ‘Phone Numbers’ she featured in.
The 25-year-old pop star – who is dating actor Evan Peters – previously confessed ‘Manic’ is her “angry album”, and insisted that whilst she didn’t go into the process feeling “mad”, she ended up recording some pretty angsty lyrics.
She said of the single ‘Graveyard’: “Yeah, it’s very human. A lot of those sounds are super organic. It’s a lot of people sounds … it’s skin, you hear skin, you can tell people are making it.”
And on how ‘Without Me’ differs from the new material, Halsey added: “I sat there to make this album and I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m going to make an angry album.’ And I wasn’t mad. It’s exciting … I’m closing a chapter in this record that I feel very much like I needed to put the final word on, put the nail in the coffin, if you will. ‘Graveyard’, marry it.
“‘Without Me’ is this like blind declaration of love. In some ways it’s a metaphor. It’s about like loving someone to death, kind of. And then in other ways it’s actually pretty literal. There’s a lot of moments in the song that are pretty literal, which was kind of scary to write about. But you know me, I find the scary thing and I do it.”
‘Manic’ is released on January 17.
