Celeste wins BRIT Awards Rising Star Award

OHMYGOSSIP — Celeste has won the BRITs Rising Star Award 2020 prize.
The 25-year-old soul singer beat off competition from Joy Crookes and Beabadoobee to land the accolade – which was previously known as the BRITs Critics’ Choice – and admitted she feels “honoured” to have scooped the gong.
She said: “It’s a huge honour to be the recipient of the BRITs Rising Star Award 2020.
“Like many others, I grew up watching The BRITs and have been continually inspired by its nominees, winners and the performances.”
As a result of her triumph, the self-taught star is the first performer confirmed for what will be the 40th BRITs on February 18th 2020 – and she cannot wait to take to the stage.
She added: “I hope to make the most of this incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to perform on The BRITs next year.”
Following the nominations announcement, which resulted in an all-female shortlist, Celeste admitted she could remember watching the BRITs 17 years ago.
She said: “My earliest memory of the BRITs was 2002, I was around eight years old.
“MC Romeo had me at ‘turn up the bass line’ and MisTeeq were the women I wanted to be when I grew up.
“It was a cold winter evening and I was glued to my television, I remember being in a frenzy with every word they sang. It was in that exact moment that I thought I would like to be a part of that one day.
“To be nominated for the Rising Star award is a huge honour, especially to recognised this early on in my career.”
Reflecting on her recognition, soulful singer Joy – who performed at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury over the summer – said: “I remember watching the BRITs as a child – especially seeing my favourites like Lily Allen, Corinne Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse up on the screen.
“I’ve always looked up to these inspiring and strong women so to be able to be recognised in the same way they were is insane – thank you so much to anyone who has supported me to get here!”
Beabadoobee – whose real name is Bea Kristi – added: “It’s super cool to be nominated for the BRITs Rising Star award and I’m so grateful. It’s so weird to think that writing music in my bedroom could appeal to so many people. Thank you so much to anyone who has voted for me!”
The award has previously been won by the likes of Adele (2008), Jessie J (2011), Sam Smith (2014) and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man (2017), while Sam Fender took home this year’s prize.

Niall Horan says he and 1D bandmates need to stop releasing on same day

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan says he and his former One Direction bandmates should “probably” try not to release music at the same time.
The Irish hunk has dropped new single ‘Put A Little Love On Me’ today (06.12.19) – the second single taken from his upcoming second solo record, which follows hit single ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ – whilst Louis Tomlinson has put out his new heartfelt track ‘Adore You’ and Liam Payne has finally released his much-delayed debut solo record, ‘LP1’.
Niall has insisted that it’s simply coincidence that they are dropping new music at the same time, as it’s not something they discuss with one another.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s something we don’t talk about, the fact we keep releasing music at the same time.
“We should probably start staying away from each other in terms of that but we will get it one day. But thank God there’s enough room for us all.”
Harry is the only member of the chart-topping group – which went on hiatus in 2015 – who has narrowly missed releasing on the same day, as his second album ‘Fine Line’ is released next Friday (13.12.19).
Meanwhile, ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker recently joked about a possible One Direction reunion on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
The 25-year-old singer made numerous tongue-in-cheek references to the ‘History’ group as he hosted the hit US comedy show.
He quipped: “I’m not in a boy band anymore. I’m in a man band.
“How crazy would it be if they were here tonight? They’re not though.
“But wouldn’t it be crazy if they were? But they’re not.”
Harry still considers his bandmates to be “family” – although his did joke about Zayn Malik, who left the group in abrupt fashion in 2015.
The ‘Sign of the Times’ hitmaker said: “I love those guys. Niall [Horan], Liam [Payne], Louis [Tomlinson] … Uh.. Ringo! Yeah, that’s it.”
One a more serious note, Liam recently admitted he doesn’t see the band reuniting for “at least two years”.
He said: “All I can say is, through album cycles and single cycles, I see everybody putting songs out at the moment , I don’t think for at least the next two years it’s going to happen.”
The ‘Stack It Up’ singer also admitted he doubts Zayn will ever return to the band because he didn’t leave on “great terms”.

Tyler, The Creator to headline Lovebox and Parklife 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyler, The Creator is set to headline Lovebox and Parklife in 2020.
The US rap superstar will close the main stage at the London festival – which has extended to three days – at Gunnersbury Park on June 14, and the night before he will play the Manchester music extravaganza.
The shows will mark the ‘Yonkers’ hitmaker’s first UK festival performances since he was banned from the country in 2015.
Tyler – whose real name is Tyler Gregory Okonma – was denied the right to enter the country by the then-Home Secretary after he was accused of encouraging violence and homophobia through his lyrics.
As a result he was unable to headline Reading and Leeds in the August.
In May this year, the ‘IGOR’s THEME’ star returned to the country to the Queen’s residence, Buckingham Palace, to announce a surprise performance of his Grammy-nominated LP, ‘IGOR’.
However, the show planned to take place at the Bussey Building in Peckham, South London, was cancelled by police after “rowdy” fans tried to climb the gates of the venue.
Finally, four months later, Tyler performed two acclaimed sold-out concerts at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
Tyler recently admitted he thinks he was treated like a “terrorist” by former UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
Reflecting on the incident, Tyler joked: “She’s gone, so I’m back.”
According to Tyler, it took many lawyers and letters, as well as time and money, before he was allowed to return to the UK.
And the chart-topping star remains angry about the way he was treated.
He said: “Then you get the official thumbs up. It was like: damn, finally, but it was so stupid to have to endure that. I got treated like a terrorist.
“Yeah. I got treated like I was a murderer.”
In fact, at one stage, Tyler decided he simply didn’t have the desire to return to the UK.
He shared: “It was kind of stupid, and after a while I was like: I don’t even want to come back. But it was more the principle of: ‘Y’all really did this, over this? In comparison to other s**t people do, that y’all let in?’ So I’m happy that I got back. I feel like I won some invisible fight.”

La Roux drops new single Gullible Fool

OHMYGOSSIP — La Roux has released new single ‘Gullible Fool’.
The 31-year-old singer – whose real name is Elly Jackson – has dropped the second single from her long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s ‘Trouble In Paradise’, which follows the recently released ‘International Women of Leisure’.
La Roux says the new track taken off her upcoming third LP ‘Supervision’ is “the most meaningful” song on the whole album.
On what inspired the lyrics, she explained: “‘Gullible Fool’ is the most special and meaningful song on the record for me, because I feel like it encapsulates a cycle of a life, and that couldn’t have happened if I wasn’t in the process of writing something else.
“It describes the feeling of being overly trusting, and living under the assumption that you shouldn’t need to protect yourself if you are nice to people.”
The ‘Bulletproof’ hitmaker has written and produced the entirety of ‘Supervision’ from her kitchen in Brixton, while she took the songs to Dan Carey to finish the album.
The collection will drop on February 7, 2020, through the star’s own Supercolour Records, and fans can already pre-order the LP.
La Roux formed in 2006 and originally featured producer Ben Langmaid.
The pair released their self-titled debut album in 2009, but Elly and Ben parted ways during early 2012, and she ended up finishing ‘Trouble in Paradise’ by herself.
Elly previously revealed she separated from her bandmate because she had become a ”different person”.
The ‘In for the Kill’ singer claimed problems emerged between the pair because she spent so long touring their self-titled debut album in America and returned with a different set of influences.
She explained: ”It was always going to be difficult because we’d had a long time away from each other when I was on tour.
”We weren’t really that connected and I’d realised what kind of performer I wanted to be onstage, which led to me finding my first record restricting. I came back home and I felt like a different person.”

Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Poison to tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Motley Crue, Def Leppard and Poison are to go on tour together in summer 2020.
The trio got together to confirm they are heading on the road next year for a 22-date ‘The Stadium Tour’, just days after Crue confirmed plans to reunite following their ‘The Final Tour’ in 2015.
And the band’s bassist Nikki Sixx admitted the ‘Home Sweet Home’ hitmakers got back together because they “missed each other”.
Speaking at SiriusXM’s Los Angeles HQ, he said: “Honestly, I don’t think any of us thought, when we were on ‘The Final Tour’, we would ever get back together.
“We weren’t really getting along at that point. We had been together 35 years, and it had been a lot of years on the road. I don’t think we took a lot of time for ourselves off; we were just constantly touring for all that time. And when it came to the end, we broke the band up and everybody went their own ways.
“I think we really needed that break, and it was during the making of ‘The Dirt’ movie, we started working on the script, started being on the set, we started hanging out again together.
“And I think we really started to realise – without even talking about the music – how much we missed each other. And then that got us to go in the recording studio, which is where the whole thing always starts for all of us.
“And we wrote a bunch of new music, and had a blast in the studio. And then the movie took off. And our fans were super stoked, but we also got a new generation of people. And that kind of started the conversation.
“But it really was from the heart. We missed each other, to be honest with you, and we missed being in a band together.”
Nikki is excited about the group’s tour with Def Leppard and Poison, and admitted he would be going to the shows as a fan if he wasn’t part of them.
He explained: “Bret [Michaels, Poison frontman] was saying to me a while ago if he wasn’t on the bill, he’d be going to the show. And I’m with you on that.”
The tour begins on July 7th at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium, and comes to a close on September 5th 2020 at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
Last month, Motley Crüe confirmed plans for a reunion by blowing up a cessation of touring agreement, which prohibits any member performing under the Motley Crüe name, which they signed after their farewell tour.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s new duet

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have recorded a new song together.
The couple – who have been together for four years – previously released ‘Go Ahead and Break My Heart’ in 2016 and now they have collaborated again on ‘Nobody But You’, which will appear on the country crooner’s upcoming new album, ‘Fully Loaded: God’s Country’.
Blake admitted the track was originally written just for him but he made a last-minute decision to ask his girlfriend to join him in the recording studio.
He said in a statement: “This was one of those songs where the more I heard it, the more I fell in love with it.
“I also realised how important it is for me and where I am in my life, and I think that’s why [writer] Shane [McAnally] was trying to get it to me
“It fits my story. I was about to go in and record when I decided that it needed Gwen on it — because it is our song. I think it’s magic.”
And the ‘Hell Right’ singer believes the song – which was written by Shane McAnally, Ross Copperman, Josh Osborne and Tommy Lee James – is one of the most “honest” tracks about life being made better by a loving relationship he’s ever heard.
He told Nashville Lifestyles magazine: “The lyrics of that song are so on point, not just for me and Gwen, but I think for a lot of people.
“The song is not a fairytale, but at the same time it’s the most epic, earth-rattling love song I’ve heard in a long time, because the lyrics are so honest and just say it how it is.
“This song really cuts to the honesty of how these two feel about each other, and in a real-life situation. It’s as honest as you can be in a country song, and something that will make you stop your car.”

Demi Lovato appears to cryptically tease new music

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato has hinted new music is on the way.
The 27-year-old singer is known to be working on her first album since 2017’s ‘Tell Me You Love Me’, and on Wednesday (04.12.19) she teased fans that she will be singing the next time “they hear” from her.
Demi simply posted a black screen on her Instagram profile, with the caption: “The next time you hear from me, I’ll be singing…. (sic)”
The likes of Ashley Graham, Millie Bobby Brown and Demi’s boyfriend Austin Wilson have all commented on the post sharing their excitement at the prospect of new music.
Model Ashley commented with the hands in the air emoji, a love heart and clapping hands.
‘Stranger Things’ star Millie simply wrote: “YES.”
And her tattooed model beau added three hearts.
In June, Demi said she will share her “side of the story” on her upcoming seventh record.
The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer said it will give her the opportunity to “be as open and honest as possible” without worrying about what other people will think.
She shared a shrugging emoji on her Instagram Story and wrote: “You know what’s great about making an album?
“You get to say anything you want, be as open and honest as possible and finally tell your side of the story regardless of who might not like it.”
The pop star – who suffered a drug overdose in July last year – announced a month earlier that she had joined forces with manager Scooter Braun – who is well-known for having represented the likes of Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
She said at the time: “GUYS!!!!!!! Dreams came true today for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER!!! And not just any new manager but the one and only @scooterbraun!!!!
“Couldn’t be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter with you Scooter!!! Thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this new journey. Let’s DO THIS!!!!!! (sic)”
Although Demi is yet to reveal any firm details about the album, she previously teased her fans with a photo of herself in front of a microphone in the studio.
She captioned the selfie: “Making magic.”

Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi to tone down party antics on US tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan says he and Lewis Capaldi will have to tone down their partying on their US tour.
The latter was forced to cancel a string of UK shows to prevent damage to his vocal cords last week, and the former One Direction star has said they will be trying their best not to hit the booze too hard after their gigs across the pond next spring, which Niall admitted will be “hard” for the pair.
Niall is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “So the idea of us wrecking the place and then trying to perform for two hours every night probably isn’t as feasible as it sounds.
“It’s going to be hard not to do what we want to do but we will pick our days, go for a few beers and have a laugh. We always have a laugh, anyway.
“He is a very funny man. What you see is what you get.”
The 23-year-old Scottish singer lost his voice during a performance at the O2 Academy Brixton in London last week and after scrapping gigs at the UEA in Norwich on Saturday evening (30.12.19) and Nottingham’s Rock City on Monday night (02.12.19) he then pulled out of his scheduled concert at the O2 Academy Sheffield on Tuesday evening (03.12.19).
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker was ordered by doctors to axe the gigs to prevent “long-term damage” to his voice.
Following his gig in Brixton, Lewis wrote to thank his fans on Instagram after they helped him get through the performance with his sore throat.
He wrote: “Last night in Brixton was one of the hardest performances I’ve had to do and thank you so, so much to everyone that came down and helped out with the tougher parts of some of those tunes.
“I’m so sorry that my voice wasn’t as up to it as I had hoped it would be. As you know, I have been struggling with my voice since touring in America and the European leg and much of this UK stretch of this tour has been difficult. I’ve had many URGENT check ups with various doctors and under each of their professional advisories I need to take it very easy and unfortunately have to cancel the next three shows. I desperately want to be able to perform every show I advertise and put on for you all. And I’m so sorry to everyone that bought tickets to the cancelled shows. Genuinely hate letting ANYONE down. Jeff Lynne has thousands of unheard ELO songs on tape

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeff Lynne has revealed he’s sitting on thousands of unheard ELO tracks.
The 71-year-old rocker believes he has around 2,000 cassette tapes with recordings from his legendary band, which he’d love to listen to again, but he doesn’t have a tape player to play them on.
Jeff is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “I must have about 2,000 cassettes that I still haven’t listened to for about 20 years.
“I haven’t got a cassette player for a start!
“I would love to check some of those really old ones out because there might be something I really love there now.”
Last month, the ‘Every Little Thing’ singer released his 14th studio album with ELO, ‘From Out of Nowhere’.
The record is about holding onto “hope” in dark times.
He said: “‘From Out of Nowhere'” – that’s exactly where it came from.
“That’s the first one I wrote for this album and it’s kind of like that.”
In 2014, Jeff took up some production duties on Take That’s seventh studio album ‘III’, but he ruled out a collaboration on ‘From Out of Nowhere’.
When asked about the possibility, he said: “No it’s just been me doing it. I haven’t really got any plans to work with anybody really – just by myself, doing it, making the album.”
Considering his previous production services there was speculation of a partnership with Gary Barlow, but Jeff was adamant about flying solo.
He said: “I like Gary very much – although I haven’t seen him for a while.”
Jeff has seen a renaissance in recent years with a new generation embracing the legendary rockers off the back of a successful tour and record.
ELO played a triumphant set at Glastonbury Festival in 2016.
He said of the performance: “It was just a great end to an amazing tour. We did 19 shows and sold them all out in big arenas, so I can’t complain about anything right now.”

Billie Eilish announces exclusive live album for Third Man Records

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish is releasing an acoustic live album recorded at Jack White’s Third Man Records studio in Nashville.
The ‘ocean eyes’ hitmaker and her collaborator and sibling FINNEAS performed at the former White Stripes star’s recording space last month, and now they are set to release the LP ‘Live At Third Man’ on Friday (06.12.19) on two exclusive vinyls only available at TMR stores.
Fans can get their hands on a green vinyl edition available in Nashville and Detroit, and a handful of black and blue split-colour copies, which feature artwork designed by Billie herself, only in Nashville.
The record features their intimate performance of ‘bad guy’ from Billie’s debut album ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’.
Meanwhile, FINNEAS has teased that Billie’s second record is like the next chapter in a book series.
In a joint interview with Variety, both the 17-year-old pop superstar and her 22-year-old sibling stumbled when they tried to describe the follow-up to ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’.
Billie said: “The music we’re making right now, like … It might be a little bit more … It’s not even, it’s … I can’t even describe it, because it’s …”
Trying to explain their process, her brother continued: “The way that we tried to approach every piece of music is, if the song had a brain, it would be aware of its catalogue.
“Like, the [‘When We All Fall Asleep’] album knew that the [‘Don’t Smile at Me’] EP and those other songs exist.
“They’re referential in certain ways: There are lines in ‘Crown’ about ‘Ocean Eyes’; ‘Ilomilo’ references ‘Bury a Friend,’ which references ‘Xanny.’
“It’s a little bit like a book series.
“Like, for ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,’ J.K. Rowling had to figure out what happened after ‘Sorcerer’s Stone,’ and for us, album two will be like what happens next to the person who went through the first record.”

Prince introduced Nicole Scherzinger to Jessie Ware’s music

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Scherzinger has revealed Prince introduced her to Jessie Ware’s music.
The Pussycat Dolls star – who recently reunited with her bandmates for their first performance since their hiatus in 2010 – told Jessie that the late ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker, who was “selective” about the artists he listened to, was a huge fan of her work and played her 2014’s ‘Say You Love Me’, which was co-written with Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco and Ben Ash.
Appearing on Jessie’s ‘Table Manners’ podcast, the ‘Don’t Cha’ hitmaker told the British singer/songwriter: “I mean, I look at you and I low-key freak out.
“I have played ‘Say You Love Me’ so many times, it is one of the most brilliantly written songs and if I must tell you, the person that introduced me to your music was Prince.
“I didn’t know about you until he showed me your music.
“He loved your music and he used to be very selective over the music he’d listen too.
“I remember I’d say to him, ‘how did you find this music?’, and he’d say, ‘it found me.'”
Nicole was close friends with the music legend – who tragically passed away in April 2016 at the age of 57 – and days after his death she posted a touching tribute, in which she hailed him the “most phenomenal human” she’s “ever been blessed to know”.
She wrote: “Its been a few days since our Prince has passed, but I needed some time to finally collect my broken heart and gather my thoughts…
“I’ve been fortunate enough to cross paths with some pretty special people throughout my life, but Prince, hands down, is the most phenomenal [or as we would’ve spelled it, fun-awe-man-all] human I’ve ever been blessed to know.
“One cannot put into words the godly talent, power and magic he possessed- both on and off the stage. (sic)”
The ‘Raspberry Beret’ hitmaker was a “mentor” and like a “brother” to Nicole.
She continued: “The world will remember him as the legendary musician, humanitarian and activist who united people through the universal language of music.
“But I will remember him as my dear friend, a brother, mentor and my inspiration.
“Through his integrity, Prince taught me the importance of being true to myself in this industry and through his wisdom and love, he has fueled my purpose and vision. (sic)”
On the one piece of advice he gave her that has stuck with her, the 41-year-old singer added: “Prince once told me, “Anything we can think up, it can actually happen.”
“These words awaken and ignite the truth now more than ever. To quote from one of my favorite songs of his, ” sometimes it snows in April, sometimes I feel so bad, sometimes I wish life was never-ending, and all good things, they say, never last”…though you are no longer with us, your Legacy remains forever. Rest in the Heavenly Kingdom, Prince. (sic)”

Sam Fender axes two shows due to illness

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender has been forced to cancel a two shows due to illness.
The ‘Play God’ hitmaker is having to push back his O2 Academy Bristol and O2 Academy Birmingham gigs on December 5 and December 6 respectively, as he has been struck down with a “respiratory track infection”.
Sam has vowed to “make it up” to his fans and is rescheduling the two shows to January 31 in Bristol and January 30 in Birmingham.
In a statement posted on his Instagram Story on Wednesday (04.12.19), he wrote: “Been having the tour of our lives and caught a bug […] totally gutted. docs have said we have to postpone Bristol and Birmingham until the ‘respiratory track infection’ heals.
“We’ve managed to reschedule the shows to the end of January though and hope to make it up to you then.
“The shows will now take place on Jan 30th in Birmingham and Jan 31st in Bristol. Our first shows of the year.
“Your tickets remain valid or refunds available from point of purchase x (sic)”
The cancellations come just months after the ‘Poundshop Kardashians’ musician had to pull out of Glastonbury and a number of other festival dates.
He wrote at the time: “Absolutely gutted to share that I’ll not be able to perform at Glastonbury this weekend. It’s always been a dream to play at Worthy Farm and I wouldn’t miss it for the world but the docs have told me I need longer to recover from illness. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to return next year.”
Sam also cancelled appearances at Les Eurockeenes, Down The Rabbit Hole, and Barn on the Farm festivals, as well as a show in Bristol.
The North Shields star subsequently had to be silent for two weeks to recover from vocal problems.
The ‘White Privilege’ rocker, who has suffered issues with his vocals cords, warmed up his voice by playing the “most annoying instrument”, the kazoo, a mouth organ which adds a buzzing tone to vocals, after his spell of silence.
Speaking about his recovery, he said: “Before I could sing again I had to do two weeks of silence and then build my voice back up with the kazoo.
“I’ve had to start with a kazoo, then I’ve upgraded to a straw – but I take the kazoo wherever I go.
“It’s the most annoying instrument – this and ukuleles are the most annoying instruments!”

Aerosmith to tour Las Vegas show in the UK in 2020

OHMYGOSSIP — Aerosmith are reportedly set to bring their Las Vegas show across the Atlantic for a tour in 2020.
Steven Tyler and co kick-started their ‘Deuces Are Wild’ residency earlier this year, and are set to continue their run at Sin City’s Park Theatre until June 2020.
And after they recently hinted at something special with an exciting announcement coming in early next year for Vegas, it has been reported that they are also planning to bring the production to arenas in the UK.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Aerosmith are on flying form and have perfected their show in Vegas.
“It’s a real spectacle and they are bringing the production here after months of negotiations. It’s going to be massive.”
The ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ rockers last played this side of the pond in 2017, when they headlined Download festival, in what was then-assumed to be their last-ever UK show.
In a cryptic Twitter post last month, the legendary band – completed by Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford – coyly wrote: “You know we only do ‘Amazing’ things.
“Which is why we’ve teamed up with #Vegas to create the next big thing for the city… Find out more January 26th 2020! #LasVegas @vegas #Aerosmith #DuecesAreWild (sic)”
Meanwhile, the ‘Crazy’ hitmakers saw their careers revived when they teamed up with hip-hop icons Run-DMC in 1986 on a new version of ‘Walk this Way’, and guitarist Joe previously admitted he had no idea how big an impact the track would make.
He said: “We really didn’t realise the impact that song and that video made on people until we were touring in Europe and there were people who thought we were a new band.
“They didn’t know anything about the earlier days. We were fascinated by that.
“When Rick Rubin sent us a couple of plane tickets to go to New York to record the song and then make the video a couple of months later, for us it was business as usual.
“Obviously the song was a big hit, but we really didn’t realise what the impact was.
“Without it, we would have kept playing and going on, and it would have been us doing what we’ve always done. Who knows what we would have written later down the road, but there was some divine intervention there that put us in touch with Run-DMC. I’m really pleased that it happened.”

Jennifer Lopez been too busy for Super Bowl preparation

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Lopez hasn’t had “much time” to prepare for the Super Bowl half-time show.
The 50-year-old singer-and-actress will join Shakira in the prestigious shot at the NFL showpiece game in February, and though she can’t wait for the performance, the ‘Hustlers’ star admitted her busy schedule has stopped her from puling everything together yet.
Asked about her preparations, she laughed and told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t have that much time. We’re starting.
“We still have to develop it a little bit more.”
But the most important aspect of the show for the ‘On the Floor’ hitmaker is to make it “fun” for both herself and the audience.
She added: “For me, I’m obviously going to try to put together the best show that I can, but it’s also about having fun.
“Just being up there, staying present in the moment and enjoying all of the wonderful things that are happening.”
While Jennifer insisted she hasn’t had much time to prepare, she recently admitted she’d been putting a lot of work into the early stages of planning the show.
She explained: “I have been doing a lot of meetings about the Super Bowl, been prepping and hiring the people and putting concepts and ideas for the show together. Shakira and I have spoken a few times already. She’s putting her thing together, I’m putting my thing together, thinking about who we want to join us on stage, if we want that …
“We are super excited. We want to make a beautiful, impactful, enjoyable, fun show for everybody. We want to bring everybody together. That’s the point. We as artists have that rare gift to be able to do that, and that’s what I think our main goal is.”
And the actress is excited about sharing the stage with 42-year-old Shakira.
She explained: “There’s nobody like her so I know that the two of us together are going to bring that special brand of what we do and there will be people who haven’t even seen us perform who get to see something special that night.”
