Olivia Rodrigo lands Songwriter of the Year honour

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo and her longtime collaborator Dan Nigro have been named the ASCAP Songwriters of the Year for 2024.
The pair – who worked together on Olivia’s 2023 album ‘Guts’ as well as her 2021 debut ‘Sour’ – were recognised for their songwriting talents at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ annual awards ceremony on Wednesday (08.05.24) at the Houdini Estate in Los Angeles.
They landed the Songwriters of the Year prize for their tracks ‘Vampire’ and ‘Bad Idea, Right?’. ASCAP said in a statement: “Olivia Rodrigo [and] Daniel Nigro are a true pop dream team.
“After taking the world by storm with ‘Sour’, the two followed up with a bona fide modern masterpiece in 2023: ‘Guts’. Their bold, grunge inspired sophomore record brought critical acclaim, mainstream obsession, a sold out world tour and hits topping the charts.”
Nigro addressed the honour in a post on Instagram, writing: “Thank you so much to ASCAP for naming Olivia and I as Songwriters of the year!!!
“Feeling very grateful today.”
Olivia previously won the Songwriter of the Year award back in 2022.
She previously opened up about her love of songwriting in an interview with Time magazine, saying: “Young women are constantly compared to each other,” she said. “I’m the ‘new this’ or ‘this woman meets that woman,’ and that can be reductive. I’m just Olivia. I’m doing my own thing. It’s meaningful when people recognise that.
“Songwriting is the thing I take most seriously in my life. It’s the most personally gratifying, too. At the core of it, all my songs are about me and my experiences and my feelings. It’s an important lesson in controlling your own narrative, too.”

Caleb Followill praises inspirational Taylor Swift

OHMYGOSSIP — Caleb Followill has praised Taylor Swift for inspiring a new generation of musicians.
The Kings of Leon frontman has Dixie, 11, and Winston, five, with wife Lily Aldridge and though his children have always been aware of his own group’s work, it is the ‘Karma’ hitmaker that has made his daughter “see music differently”.
He told The Sun newspaper: “Dixie started wearing Kings Of Leon shirts around the house, but Taylor has made her see music differently.
“She’s impressed how she can walk in with a guitar and write a song. A new generation are discovering what it’s like to organically make music because of Taylor Swift.”
Caleb’s children inspired the group’s latest single ‘Mustang’.
He explained: “My son was wearing a shirt that said Mustang, while my daughter was watching YouTube videos of cats — that’s where the line ‘Are you a Mustang or a kitty’ comes from.
“My son hadn’t really reacted to our music before, so I put Mustang in the song to make him flip his s***. Now friends’ kids always say, ‘Play the Mustang song’, so if nothing else, kids love it.”
The band – comprising Caleb, his brothers Nathan, and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew Followill – will tour the UK in June and are excited to get their families together.
Jared, whose wife Martha gave birth to their second daughter Charlotte just a few days ago, said: “I’m bringing my family over. We are all renting houses.
“I’m excited that the kids are all meeting up and the cousins can all go to the pub and get drunk for the first time as they don’t check IDs in the UK.”
The ‘Sex on Fire’ hitmakers admitted their tours these days are much calmer than in their early days, where their drunken fights were notorious.
Caleb said: “We try to avoid being on the road for three months at a time.
“When we were starting, we were like zombies and living on buses and in each other’s hair.”
Jared added: “It was crazy. How did we survive that?
“But we’re healthy adults and in a good place. It’s boring, and people want us to still be fighting and drunk.”

Travis recruit Chris Martin and Brandon Flowers

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis recruited Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and The Killers’ Brandon Flowers for their new single ‘Raze The Bar’.
The Scottish rockers are returning with their 10th studio album ‘L.A. Times’ which will be released in July and they have now debuted their second track from the record which laments the closure of the Black and White Bar – a much-loved drinking establishment in New York City – and it features the two special guests.
Frontman Fran Healy revealed the collaboration came about after he played the new album to Chris. Fran told NME: “I called up Chris, I was having a moment of ‘I … don’t know how to order the record’. I’d listened to it too much. I had a running order but I needed some fresh ears so I called Chris and we drove up the Pacific Coast highway and listened to it.
“He had lots and lots of comments to make and he picked out that particular song ‘Raze The Bar’. He was like ‘Oh My God it’s … amazing’.
“So we go back to the house and he goes to the piano and he starts playing it. I was like: ‘You should sing on it’. He was like: ‘Yeah I’ll sing but you should get more people to sing on it as well’.
“So I called up Brandon and he was like ‘sure’. So the both of them came in and sung on it.”
Fran went on to reveal the song was inspired by the closure of the New York bar which was loved by indie rockers. He added: “Everyone went there, because it was near Irving Plaza and all the bands would always go there.
“This bar was a hub for poetry, it was all so positive for artists. Then they had to shut it and the landlord went in one night and ripped every single bit of the bar out and whitewashed it so that nobody could ever have the bar again. So the song is like an imaginary last night in the bar.”

Kings of Leon ignored algorithms and just tried to make a ‘great’ album

OHMYGOSSIP — Kings of Leon ignored social media algorithms and just tried to create a “great” album when making ‘Can We Please Have Fun’.
The rockers released their ninth studio record on Friday (10.05.24) and bassist Jared Followill has admitted the musicians didn’t try to craft hits that would go viral on TikTok and instead focused on making music they could be proud of.
He told Billboard: “Our only rule is to not have any songs on the album that we would be embarrassed if they were a single – so we try to make the album great, because we don’t know anything about the business side of things or algorithms or which song will do well.
“Now it seems like you just need a great 15-second piece of a song to make it big on TikTok – slow it down, reverb it, make it huge. But we don’t know what works anymore, and I don’t think anybody knows …
“You just have to play ball a little bit, and hope that you’re with the right people who know what they’re doing.”
It comes after frontman Caleb Followill admitted he felt like “the most inspired man in the world” when making the new album because the band were between record contracts at the time.
He told NME: “The fact that we didn’t have that [a recording contract] in the beginning [of making the album] was such a … man, it was a weight lifted …
“I saw things in colours and shapes and sounds. It was just like I was on a huge acid trip. For months!
“I’d see something on TV and go: ‘Ooh – I can apply that.’ And while it was happening, I was thinking: ‘Man, I wish other people could feel what I’m feeling right now’.”
Kings of Leon signed to RCA Records back in 2002 but the band parted ways with the label following the release of their 2021 album ‘When You See Yourself’.
They signed a new deal with Capitol Records after completing work on ‘Can We Please Have Fun’.

The tour features songs from all of Taylor’s album “eras” and is now up-to-date with the inclusion of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
To make way for the new segment, the singer had to restructure the show and cut songs from other areas. Tracks which have been chopped include ‘The Archer’, ‘Long Live’ and ‘The 1 ‘ as well as ‘Tis The Damn Season’, ‘Tolerate It’ and ‘The Last Great American Dynasty’.
‘The Eras’ tour kicked off in March, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona and Taylor will perform 152 stadium dates across the globe before wrapping the shows in Vancouver, Canada in December.

Eurovision finalists revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — The finalists for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest have been confirmed.
Israel, Georgia and Switzerland are among those joining the list of nations competing at the grand final in Malmo, Sweden on May 11 following the conclusion of the second semi-final on Thursday (09.05.24).
Israel’s entry ‘Hurricane’ by Eden Golan was previously titled ‘October Rain’ but it was re-written in order to gain qualification after being accused of promoting a political message on the Israel–Hamas war.
Georgia is competing with former American Idol singer Nutsa Buzaladze singing ‘Firefighter’ while Switzerland’s entry Nero’s is hotly tipped for success with ‘The Code’.
The trio were added to the list along with Armenia, Austria, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Netherlands and Norway. They join 10 previous entries qualifying from the first semi-final – Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine – as well as six pre-qualified entries from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom and host country Sweden.
It brings the total finalists to 26 who will all compete in Malmo on Saturday night.
Ahead of the glitzy event, bookmakers have predicted success for Croatia with ‘Rim Tim Tagi Dim’ which is being performed by Baby Lasagna along with the Swiss entry and Ukraine’s Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil who are in the mix with their track ‘Teresa and Maria’.
The 2024 competition has already been marred by controversy over the inclusion of Israel amid the ongoing bombardment of Gaza with protests being staged across the city of Malmo and Eden Golan reportedly being booed during rehearsals.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) – the body behind Eurovision – previously dismissed calls for a boycott over Israel’s entry, saying in a statement: “The Eurovision Song Contest is a competition for public service broadcasters from across Europe and the Middle East.
“It is a competition for broadcasters – not governments – and the Israeli public broadcaster has participated in the contest for 50 years.
“The Eurovision Song Contest remains a non-political event that unites audiences worldwide through music.”

Pet Shop Boys eye Cardi B collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — Pet Shop Boys want to work with Cardi B.
The ‘West End Girls’ hitmakers – comprising Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – were thrilled to learn the ‘WAP’ singer is a fan of their music and would love to get into the studio with her, but insisted she needs to make a move for it to happen.
Discussing how she’s a fan of theirs, Neil told Rolling Stone: ” Oh, we like Cardi B. It’s because of her mother, isn’t it?
“There was a great moment—she turned around to some guy, an American comedian, on one of those chat shows. [John Mulaney on ‘The Tonight Show’, in 2018] She said, ‘You look like the Pet Shop Boys.’ And he did look a bit like me on the cover of ‘Discography’. He had a shirt and tie on, and her mother probably had ‘Discography’. It was a great moment, but we still haven’t done the collaboration with him.”
Told the “world is waiting” for a collaboration with Cardi, Neil added: “I think it is. But I think the ball’s in her court.”
Last year, Neil called out Drake for sampling ‘West End Girls’ without permission on his latest album ‘For All the Dogs’, but he revealed the situation was resolved swiftly afterwards.
He said: “I was driving in my car back from the supermarket, and my brother phoned me to say his son, my nephew who’s a Drake fan, said, ‘Oh, does Neil know ‘West End Girls’ is on Drake’s new album?” So I stopped the car and played it on Spotify.
“We get a lot of requests, so I thought, maybe we agreed to this? But this, I thought we’d remember it.
“I emailed our manager and she said, no, we haven’t agreed to this. So we put up a social media post, because we thought it was the best way to bring it to everyone’s attention.
“Within 15 minutes, our representatives got a call from Drake’s people, and they were very apologetic—in fact, they said Drake wants to speak to them. In the end, we didn’t speak to him, but the whole publishing thing was sorted out.”
And the pair are actually fans of Drake’s version, which features in a song called ‘All the Parties’.
Neil added: “But I like the way he sings it, though! I really like the track.”
Chris said: “I would like to know how Drake gets that vocal sound, because I would quite like to hear you singing like that.”
His bandmate agreed: “Yeah, we can never seem to get it. We need to know his trick. What is it—how does he do it? It’s a bit AutoTune, isn’t it?”

Black Keys gave Noel Gallagher a new nickname

OHMYGOSSIP — The Black Keys nicknamed Noel Gallagher “The Chord Lord”.
The former Oasis rocker features on the duo’s new LP ‘Ohio Players’ and while the pair were ready to “embarrass” themselves in front of the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker, they worked well together thanks to the British star’s drive and determination.
Dan Auerbach told Classic Rock magazine: “We ended up calling Noel the Chord Lord because he just would not stop until he was satisfied.
“We wrote ‘On the Game’ together and basically, the CliffsNotes on that song would be that everyone’s a whore for something. Pat and I were like, ‘On the game’? What does that mean?’ We didn’t know that phrase. And Noel was like ‘It’s a prostitute man.’ “
The pair had previously been “pretty insular” in their work but got excited about the prospect of having a “bunch of fun” making their latest album.
Patrick Carney said: “I think we kept The Black Keys pretty insular. But with ‘Dropout Boogie’, we were like, ‘We have so many friends that we can make music with.’
“That changed the whole feeling on this record too, rather than just us in the studio grinding away.
“So we set our sights on Noel Gallagher and we flew to London – even though Dan hates to fly – and our whole MO was we’re gonna stay in the nicest hotel, have a bunch of fun together, then go into the studio with a rock legend, with zero material, and risk completely embarrassing ourselves…
“It was stressful afterwards, thinking about what could have happened and how we could have just fell on our faces.
“But that’s the whole thing with ‘Ohio Players’ – it’s like, we were taking creative risks with this record.”

Kylie Minogue eyeing return to Voltaire after wrapping first Las Vegas residency

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue is reportedly planning to continue her Las Vegas residency at the Voltaire.
The ‘Padam Padam’ hitmaker completed her first-ever Sin City series, ‘More Than Just a Residency’, at the new venue on Saturday (04.05.24), and now it has been claimed the 55-year-old pop idol is to return for another stint with a new album.
Speaking to the audience at the final show, she said: “I am excited to be here. We were reminiscing that this is our last show, so we have all been a little emotional today. Let me just say it has exceeded all my expectations.
“This is the end . . . for this moment. I love you so much – I cannot wait to see you again.”
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Kylie has become a must-see act in Vegas.
“With a new album on its way, she will be in so much more demand. But Voltaire and the committed audiences have won her heart over, and she will be a mainstay there.”
The publication claims her return is likely to be in 18 months’ time, which is November 2025, the same month she started the residency.
The Sun previously reported that the ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker had been offered a “residency for life” in Las Vegas, after she impressed the boss of the nightclub, Michael Gruber.
A source said: “Michael absolutely loves Kylie and doesn’t want to lose her.
“It is the first ‘residency for life’ where you come and go based on your schedule that has been put on the table in Vegas.
“Usually venues want to lock someone in for a fixed period or have exclusivity when it comes to live shows.
“But when it comes to Kylie, Michael knows he is on to something Golden and he’s put the offer on the table for Kylie to consider.”
Kylie began the stint in November 2023, in support of her 16th studio album ‘Tension’.

Slash: Calling guest singers was hard

OHMYGOSSIP — Slash found it “hard” to call other musicians and ask them to play on his new album.
The Guns ‘N Roses’ guitarist has enlisted a range of artists, including Chris Stapleton, Iggy Pop, Steven Tyler, Chris Robinson and Gary Clark Jr., to perform on ‘Orgy Of The Damned’, a record of mostly blues tracks, but despite his own global fame, he insisted it wasn’t easy to get people to feature on the record.
He told Classic Rock magazine: “Listen, when you’re cold-calling musicians, some of whom you don’t even know, it doesn’t matter who you are. It’s a hard gig.
“You’re trying to sell an idea.
“The two hardest ones to nail down were Chris Stapleton and Billy Gibbons. Billy’s all over the place. He’s always working and he’s always doing something. I told him I was doing a version of ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ and I knew from his tone of voice that he was sceptical.
“I mean, he knows me, but… Anyway, I had to coax him into it…
“I feel really honoured that he’s on the record.”
One singer who didn’t return Slash’s calls was Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, but he was still able to get involved with the record.
Slash said: “He was incommunicado for a month. And then, when the record was done, I finally heard from him; ‘Oh man, I’ve been here and there. What’s happening?’
“And that’s why he came down to put the harmonica on ‘Killing Floor’.”
The record has been in the pipeline since 1996, when Slash had left Guns N’Roses and was working on a side project, Slash’s Blues Ball.
He said: “There was a lot of drinking going on, but we were having a real good time playing all these covers and jamming around.
“And we actually took it to the point of touring round the US and we even did some touring in Europe.
“Anyway, I always wanted to make a record of that. But the there was Snakepit, then I was in hospital, then Velvet Revolver, then the Conspirators, then back to Guns N’ Roses. It’s just been very busy.
“Anyway, 30 years later I finally had two weeks off and I thought, ‘I’m going to do this record now.’ ”

Jess Glynne claims that Promise Me saved her music career

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Glynne has claimed that her music career was saved by her song ‘Promise Me’.
The 34-year-old ‘Rather Be’ chart-topper revealed she considered quitting the music industry due to the online criticism she was facing, though found the strength to carry on after writing the track – which features on her newly-released record ‘JESS’.
According to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: “One of my favourite memories is probably when I was in LA having like a really hard time and really struggling and feeling very vulnerable.
“I was in my hotel room, going into the studio with [producer] Greg Kurstin and this song just kind of fell out.
“It’s just one of my favourite memories of walking out that day with a song that I couldn’t have been prouder of.
“It’s a message to myself, essentially, to remind myself that I am enough.”
Jess had previously opened up about her struggles in dealing with trolls online, and admitted she nearly threw in the towel because of the “scrutiny” placed on her as somebody in the public eye.
Speaking to The Independent, she said: “The amount that I’ve put in and the self-belief and the fight and the battles [I’ve gone through with] myself and with people around me to get to where I am, I was like, ‘Nah man, you can’t throw it all away.’”
‘JESS’ marks the ‘Hold My Hand’ singer’s first album in six years, and the artist said she hoped her work would allow the world to “understand the person” she is after feeling that she has been “misunderstood”.
She explained: “I feel like I have been misunderstood and I think that’s something that I don’t want to continue in my career.
“I want people to listen to my records and understand where they’ve come from, and understand the person that I am.”

Talking Heads drummer Chris Frantz teases band’s return

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Frantz has teased Talking Heads’ return.
The 72-year-old drummer, who played in the iconic band alongside Tina Weymouth, Jerry Harrison and David Byrne, saw the group break up in December 1991 after frontman Byrne left the band but has now offered a hint on social media that the ‘Once in a Lifetime’ artists could be set for a comeback.
Taking to Instagram, Chris posted a photo of a theatre with the band headlining it, and captioned the picture: “We shall return.”
Reflecting on the end of Talking Heads, Chris explained he only found out that Byrne was leaving the band after reading the story in a newspaper.
He told the Los Angeles Times: “As far as we’re concerned, the band never really broke up. David just decided to leave.”
Byrne admits that he regretted the way he left the group even though it was “inevitable” that it was going to happen.
During an interview with People, he said: “I think [the end] wasn’t handled well. It was kind of ugly. I have regrets on how that was handled.
“I don’t think I did it in the best way, but I think it was kind of inevitable that would happen anyway.”
David conceded he acted like a “little tyrant” during his time in the group.
The 71-year-old star explained: “As a younger person, I was not as pleasant to be around. When I was working on some Talking Heads shows, I was more of a little tyrant.
“And then I learned to relax, and I also learned that collaborating with people, both sides get more if there’s a good relationship instead of me telling everybody what to do.”

Frank Turner ‘extremely proud’ after breaking concert world record

OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Turner is “extremely proud – and yet more exhausted” after breaking the world record for the most amount of shows played across multiple cities within 24 hours.
The ‘Recovery’ singer beat previous record-holder Hunter Hayes by playing 15 20-minute sets between Saturday and Sunday (04.05.24 and 05.05.24) across the UK as part of a campaign for the Music Venue Trust and has admitted the effort has left him worn out.
In a statement, he said: “I’m extremely proud — and yet more exhausted — after completing the challenge to get the world record.
“The main drive for me was to highlight the work of independent venues and record shops and the Music Venue Trust, as well as bringing over 3000 people together in 24 hours for a good time.
“I did 24 shows in 24 hours in London in 2009, but this was arguably a bigger challenge, and a more official one. Time for some sleep!”
‘The Way I Tend To Be’ hitmaker took to Instagram on Saturday (04.05.24) to share a “before” photo moments before he embarked on his record-breaking show tour.
The 42-year-old musician wrote: “Here we go friends. 15 shows, 15 towns, 24 hours. This is a terrible idea.
“Thanks to the venues, my crew, the record shops and @musicvenuetrust – let’s do this.”
Frank then uploaded an “after” picture from the stage at his last concert in Southampton.
He captioned the post: “In 2009, for the music video for ‘The Road’, I played 24 shows in 24 hours – all in Greater London. House parties, venues, record shops and more. It was fun but kind of unofficial, and hard work. I didn’t think I wanted to do it again.
“In the last 24 hours, accompanied by my crew (Doug and Tre and Mark), we played 15 shows in 15 different towns around the UK.
“According to the @musicvenuetrust rules, that’s the world record by 5 shows. Every show was at an independent venue, ticketed by an independent record shop. We did it.
“Proud. Tired. Grateful. Long live independent music.”

Camilia Cabello is dropping her new album next month

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello will release her new album ‘C, XOXO’ next month.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker has unveiled the release date and covert art for her upcoming fourth solo album – her first since 2022’s ‘Familia’ – which featured a close up photo of her face as she licks a blue lollipop.
Announcing the news on Instagram, she simply wrote: “THE NEW ALBUM C, XOXO IS OUT JUNE 28TH (sic)”
The LP will include her recent single ‘I Luv It’, which features Playboi Carti.
Although fans are still waiting for a tracklist and firm details about the record, Camila did recently open up about her approach for making a collection of songs.
She told the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast: “It’s really sitting in the discomfort of things and realising there’s not gonna be a neat, in-a-box answer.
“I feel strong in these ways, weak in these ways, and there’s no real clear answer here.”
However, she has embraced the process as a “journey”, and for the upcoming album that meant rediscovering what first sparked her love for songwriting.
She added: “But the album process has been such a journey.
“It started out with me having that intention of going back to how it started for me, which was just sitting with myself and really getting back to that first passion of songwriting.
“Nerding out over references and artists and poetry — whatever — and really tapping into that.”
Camila has also teased the “hyper-femme” persona she tapped into for the album.
Speaking to PAPER magazine, she said: “Six months [into recording], we had a couple songs and [I realised], ‘Oh, this is a character.’
“It became a persona that I was tapping into, which was me, but definitely a hyper-femme version of me.
“[I started to ask:] What are the colour palettes of the world this character inhabits? What’s her hair? What’s photography like there?”

JLS eye up dream Las Vegas residency

OHMYGOSSIP — JLS are eyeing up a dream Las Vegas residency.
The ‘Take a Chance on Me’ hitmakers would love to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Boyz II Men by setting up camp for a run of shows in Sin City.
Singer Oritse Williams told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “It would be a dream come true.
“Boyz II Men and Usher did a big residency, Jodeci and New Edition too, so if JLS do it that would be pretty much the pinnacle of our group.”
While Vegas isn’t on the cards just yet, the quartet are heading back out on the road this summer for a run of outdoor shows.
Marvin Humes said: “We are so excited, it’s the first time we’ve done summer shows since 2012. [Kew Gardens] is almost a homecoming gig as well.
“There might be surprises with it being London. One big party.”
The tour will include a mix of castles and seaside towns, and the group – which also features Aston Merrygold and J.B. Gill – are looking forward to having fans of all ages coming out to the shows.
He added: “It’s the summer holidays so no doubt the families will be coming along too.”
Meanwhile, JLS hit the road for an arena tour last year and admitted they were loving travelling the country playing their songs.
Oritse told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “This arena tour has been incredible. We didn’t know what to expect having done a comeback tour only two years ago, but the reception from the fans has been amazing.
“We don’t want it to end, to be honest, but we’re glad we’ve got the opportunity to do it all over again next summer at a run of outdoor shows.”

Dua Lipa’s brother Gjin finds AJ Tracey ‘really inspiring’ as he forges out music production career

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa’s younger brother, Gjin, has found AJ Tracey “really inspiring” as he forges out a career in music production.
The ‘Illusion’ hitmaker’s 18-year-old sibling followed his 28-year-old pop superstar sister into music after hitting it off with ‘Ladbroke Grove’ rapper star AJ, 30, when they filmed Dua’s ‘Studio 2054’ livestream concert, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Gjin really knows his stuff when it comes to hip-hop and grime.
“During lockdown he got really into music production and now he is making tentative steps to work in that field.
“Being mates with AJ has been really inspiring for him too.
“His music is totally different from what his big sister does and will be more behind the scenes as a producer.”
Last year, Gjin revealed he had co-produced British hip-hop act A1 x J1’s track ‘Scary’ alongside J Moon.
Meanwhile, Dua recently teased she is hoping Cyndi Lauper will join her at Glastonbury.
The ‘Levitating’ hitmaker is preparing to headline the Pyramid Stage at the world-famous festival next month, and not only is she excited to treat fans to some songs from her new album ‘Radical Optimism’, as well as her classic singles, she’s keen to take a nod to the past by inviting the ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ singer out on stage at Worthy Farm.
A source told Bizarre: “Dua is raring to go for Glastonbury and she can’t wait for people to hear her new music.
“She knows the record will strike a chord with her fans but for the old school musos at the Farm, she wants a touch of nostalgia.
“Kevin Parker from Tame Impala, who worked on Radical Optimism with Dua is another.
“She wants this set to go down in history.”
Dua herself has admitted she has spent a lot of time thinking about her performance.
Speaking to the BBC, she shared: “I think about it all the time.
“50 per cent of my thoughts go to Glastonbury, then the rest are for everyday tasks.”
