OHMYGOSSIP — Tears For Fears had “stopped communicating”.
The ‘The Hurting’ hitmakers – Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith – will return with their first album in 17 years, ‘The Tipping Point’, next month.
But the follow-up to 2004’s ‘Everybody Loves A Happy Ending’ comes after much turmoil within the group and a “dark period” in Roland’s life, following the death of his late wife, Caroline Orzabal, who battled alcoholism and mental illness, which led to him seeking grief counselling, and his own stints in rehab.
In an interview with Music Week, Roland said when asked if there was ever any doubt there would be another LP: “It was always in the balance.
“We’d forged an album, back in 2016, and Universal – who had our catalogue – said, ‘We love this, we’d like to take two tracks and put out a greatest hits album’.
“The Greatest Hits came out, ‘Rule The World’, and it did very well.
“But we were left with a depleted album – once we’d taken those tracks off, we realised it wasn’t good enough.
“This coincided with a dark period of my life. I was having a lot of personal problems with my late wife who was becoming more and more ill with mental illness and alcoholism [Caroline Orzabal passed away in 2017]. So we dropped the ball for a little while.
“We went back to touring, and Curt [Smith, Tears For Fears co-founder] and my relationship got stressed beyond anything natural. We stopped communicating.”
The 60-year-old musician also credits meeting a new partner with bringing him out of the doldrums and recalled how he and bandmate Curt, also 60, reconnected doing the thing they do best: songwriting.
Roland added: “Things started to look up. I did therapy, grief counselling and a couple of rehabs, met a new woman, and my general demeanour and approach to life started to brighten up.
“I sat down with Curt at the beginning of 2020 when he had one foot in the door and one foot out the door.
“We sat in his house and, for the first time in decades, wrote a song together and, by the end of 2020, we listened to the whole thing and went, ‘Wow’.
“Thank God we didn’t release anything in 2016 because this is the best of the two albums merged together.
“What’s most important is the narrative of going through dark times and coming out of dark times, as opposed to the narrative of just going through dark times.”
Tears For Fears had an acrimonious split in 1991, before reuniting in 2000.

OHMYGOSSIP — Iron Maiden are planning to perform ‘Senjutsu’ in full for the “diehard fans”.
Frontman Bruce Dickinson has confirmed talks of the 2021 LP being played in its entirety live are true, and they will plot an intimate tour doing just that at a later date.
Speaking to Fozzy’s Chris Jericho on his ‘Talk Is Jericho’ podcast, he said: “The plan we’ve got — it’s not really a secret; I think everybody else has chatted about it — we will, I hope, we’ve talked about doing the entire album start to finish, but not this time around.
“And we all appreciate that that is something that really diehard fans will probably love and other people will go, ‘Hmmm, I’m not gonna go see that.’
“So the answer is you play smaller venues so that they sell out with just your diehard fans. ‘Cause it’s a musical thing to do — it’s a musical thing.”
The ‘Run to the Hills’ star had recently hinted at the idea.
He said in November: “Every song is Maiden at the top of our game. Every song could be a live favourite. We haven’t played a Maiden album from start to finish since [2006’s] ‘A Matter Of Life And Death’, but this album is so good that it could warrant being played in its entirety. Obviously, we haven’t finished the ‘Legacy [Of The Beast]’ tour yet, but the thought of taking this album on the road is exciting to all of us.”
Meanwhile, the 63-year-old rocker is also planning to finish work on his new solo album after his North American spoken-word tour wraps.
The heavy metal legend explained how he already has several demos to tinker with for his follow-up to 2006’s ‘Tyranny Of Souls’, but he might need to “write a few more tunes” for his seventh studio effort once he’s done with his ‘An Evening With Bruce Dickinson’ shows in March.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mandy Moore has revealed she’s got new music “coming very soon”.
The 37-year-old star released her sixth album ‘Silver Landings’ – her first in 11 years – in 2020, and she is now working on new material.
In a lengthy Instagram post, she wrote: “Nearly 2 years ago, my first record in 11 years came into the world.
“We were 4 days away from leaving for my first tour since 2007 when the pandemic shut the world down.
“It was hard to sort through the myriad of emotions of what it took to make that music: the disappointment and sorrow of unfulfilled dreams…. all while we were collectively grappling with and grieving the tragedy unfolding around the globe.
“So I turned back to music because that was the only catharsis I could find while stuck at home.”
She described the record as “the mark of the ultimate chapter surrounding impending parenthood”, and confirmed her future plans.
She continued: “Anyway…. all of this to tell you that there is new music coming very soon… and a tour!
“And I’m staying present and open to this experience revealing itself exactly how it’s supposed to.
“**** PS: your comments, love and encouragement are so appreciated. Year already made. Thanks, friends!! Hope to see you on the road soon!! Xoxoxo. (sic)”
The ‘This Is Us’ actress previously admitted while she loves acting, music lets her be her true self.
She explained: “You know what? I feel so lucky. I have this other side of my job that literally is the best job I’ve ever had. I’m so creatively fulfilled. I love the people I work with. I love the material I get to work with.
“It’s like I’m able to really pour so much of myself into that, but music is a whole other being. It is truly me. I’m not hiding behind a character or someone else’s words.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams is hoping to go on tour at the end of the year.
The 47-year-old singer – who had to cut his Las Vegas residency at Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theatre short in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic – is keen to get back on the road, but admits he wouldn’t be surprised if COVID hit hard again later this winter.
He said: “Hopefully I’m going to go on tour at the end of this year.
“But you see how this year has gone.
“I think every summer we’re going to think it’s over and then every winter it’s going to come back.
“Every time I’ve had a guess that this is going to be over I’ve been completely wrong.”
Robbie admitted the pandemic has been “terrifying”, and he longs to get back on stage.
In a new interview in the US, he added: “It’s terrifying for many, many reasons but personally and selfishly I haven’t been able to gig, I haven’t been able to do a tour.”
A source added to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Robbie’s dream of getting back out on the road is something he wants to make a reality.
“This year could be tough, but knowing Robbie, anything is possible.”
Robbie performed 16 dates at the Wynn Las Vegas’ Encore Theatre in 2019 and was due to return for more in 2020 until COVID struck.
The pop star was planning to take on board some of the feedback he had received from fans following his initial shows.
Speaking in March 2020, he said: “People have come to the show and said, ‘There’s not enough Robbie Williams songs!’ So it’s a dilemma. And I hear them and I get it. So I’m adding a few more Robbie Williams songs this time around, because I am Robbie Williams.
“We shall see how it goes. But for those people leaving comments … I’m really sorry. I’ll try my best next time to please absolutely everybody, because that’s what this job is at the end of the day: it’s pleasing everybody.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards appears to have started working on solo music.
The Little Mix star has shared a viral TikTok video of her in the recording studio with songwriter Kamille and record producer Fred Again.
The clip, which Perrie posted on her Instagram Stories, was captioned: “Studio wit my boo @perrieedwards.”
And when Kamille – who worked on Little Mix’s 2020 hit ‘Break Up Song’ – was quizzed on whether she was recording on her own, she simply replied: “Solo.”
Now fans are speculating what direction Perrie will head in with her solo tunes.
The 28-year-old pop star – who welcomed her and boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s son Axel into the world in August – previously revealed she’s a huge fan of Olivia Rodrigo.
Speaking of the ‘Good 4 U’ hitmaker – who is the poster girl for the mainstream pop-punk resurgence – she said: “Olivia Rodrigo and the whole comeback of that sound – that’s right up my street.”
Perrie hitting the recording studio comes after Little Mix announced they are “taking a break” after 10 years together.
The ‘Sweet Melody’ hitmakers – also made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 30, and Jade Thirlwall, 29 – revealed last month that they will be heading on a hiatus after their ‘Confetti’ tour in spring, but have insisted their break will not mark a permanent end for the group.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the band said: “We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.
“We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.
“We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.
“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x (sic)”
The group’s decision to take a break came as fourth member Jesy Nelson, 30, chose to leave the ‘Black Magic’ singers – who were formed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2011, which they went on to win – last year after citing a decline in her mental health.
As well as Perrie becoming a monther, Leigh-Anne welcomed twins with her footballer fiance, Andre Gray.

OHMYGOSSIP — Eddie Vedder’s new solo album features Sir Ringo Starr, Sir Elton John and Stevie Wonder.
The Pearl Jam frontman has unveiled the star-studded tracklisting for his upcoming LP, ‘Earthling’, which also boasts contributions from Irish songwriter Glen Hansard, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and their former guitarist Josh Klinghoffer.
The Grunge veteran has also released the moving new single, ‘Brother the Cloud’, and shared the heartwarming story of how the vocals of his late father, who died when he was 13, made the record.
In an interview with MOJO magazine, Eddie shared: “I didn’t really get to know my real father.
“I met him maybe three or four times as a kid, but he was, you know, a friend of the family. It would have been nice to have been in a room with him at some point before he died when I was 13. It would have been nice to share that I knew that he was my pop, but it didn’t happen.
“But the crazy thing that did happen was that about 10 years ago, the Chicago Cubs, some of their old timers get together and play baseball for about a week, and I would go down there every other year and hang with these guys, learn about the game more so I can teach my kids more, you know, I coach baseball.
“One of the ex-players, this erudite badass trumpeter, who used to play third base, his name is Carmen Fanzone.
“He also became head of the Musicians Union in Los Angeles – an incredibly cool individual. I saw Carmen playing the horn in a little club in Arizona, and this guy playing keyboards with him had been best friends with my dad.
“Two years later, he brought me some photos of them in little basement studios.
“Then a couple years after that, he brought me five songs of my dad singing, on a disc. I carried that disc around for two, three months in my suitcase, not ready to hear it.
“Finally, I got the guts, and after a couple bottles of wine played it one night in Argentina. And he was good. It was incredible – like he left a message for me.”
The ‘Alive’ rocker concluded: “I thought of the record like a setlist – by the end, that’s when you start bringing out special guests.
“We had Stevie and Elton, Ringo was an incredible addition … and then my pop gets to be on a record with those guys, which is not too shabby.”
‘Earthling’ is released on February 11.

The 37-year-old pop megastar has just returned with her new dance single with Alesso, ‘When I’m Gone’, and Katy made the quip about the ‘Easy On Me’ hitmaker and the ‘Bad Habits’ star’s transformations when asked to “trash talk” her competitors.
Adopting a British accent, the ‘Roar’ hitmaker – who welcomed her first child, daughter Daisy Dove, with fiance Orlando Bloom into the world in August 2020 – told ‘Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp’: “Ed got real fit, Adele got real fit, I’m gonna get real fit, we are all going to be so fit.”
Before she added: “I love them. There’s room for us all.”
Adele, 33, wowed fans with her impressive weight loss, while the 30-year-old flame-haired singer has also slimmed down and had laser eye surgery.
Meanwhile, the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker has just begun her Las Vegas residency.
‘Katy Perry:PLAY’ kicked off at the Resorts World Theatre in Sin City at the end of December, and runs through until March 19, 2022.
The ‘Wide Awake’ singer recently admitted she loves how her new show allows her to be “artistic” and also get to be there for her 16-month-old daughter.
She said: “I really wanted to be able to strike more of a balance – to have a child and take her to preschool – but also be artistic and play with that energy.”
The ‘Smile’ singer shared how having sweet “moments” as a family are “so important” to her.
Katy – who is performing all of her hits, including ‘I Kissed A Girl’, ‘Dark Horse’, ‘California Gurls’ and ‘Firework’ – added: “Orlando and I just did a hike with our daughter. We went to look at some ducks and turtles because it’s so important for me to have those moments every single day, especially when I’m working from 2pm to 9pm.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse have made a comeback with their new single, ‘Won’t Stand Down’.
Matt Bellamy and co have dropped the industrial-heavy anti-bullying anthem, their first new music since 2018’s ‘Simulation Theory’ LP.
Speaking of the track, the frontman said: “’Won’t Stand Down’ is a song about standing your ground against bullies, whether that be on the playground, at work or anywhere. Protecting yourself from coercion and sociopathic manipulation and to face adversity with strength, confidence and aggression.”
The track is accompanied by an epic music video shot in Ukraine with Jared Hogan at the helm.
Matt had previously claimed the trio – completed by Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard – were considering moving back to their hometown of Teignmouth in Devon, South West England, to record the tracks for their upcoming ninth studio album.
Speaking last year, he said: “I like the idea of totally resetting and going back to where we come from.
“As in, physically moving back to our hometown and getting back to how we used to be at square one. We’re likely to get in the studio next year to make a new album of some kind and then tour after that, depending on the travel restrictions.”
A title and release date for their new collection are yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, the ‘Plug In Baby’ rockers were just announced as headliners for the ​Isle Of Wight festival on June 19.
Lewis Capaldi and Kasabian are also set to top the bill at the music extravaganza held in Newport, Isle of Wight, between June 16

OHMYGOSSIP — The Wombats insist there is “no chance” of the indie band ever being “overtly positive”.
The rock group are back with their first studio album since 2018’s ‘Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life’, ‘Fix Yourself, Not the World’, and frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy has admitted that while fatherhood has made him less “cynical and pessimistic” in his lyrics, he’ll never be an optimistic person.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, Murph – who has Dylan, four, and 12-month-old Kai with wife Akemi – said: “I can’t be as cyn­ical and pess­im­istic as the first three Wombats albums are.
“I’ve dis­covered pos­it­iv­ity, spurred by hav­ing kids, and want­ing long-term pleas­ure rather than short-term thrills.
“But there’s no chance of the band ever being overtly pos­it­ive.
“I still see the world the way I always did, I’m just bet­ter at ana­lys­ing it. I’m def­in­itely not wor­ried about los­ing my cyn­icism.”
One of the tracks on the new record is ‘Everything I Love Is Going To Die’, but the song itself is groove-laden and upbeat.
Murph said: “The titles can be mor­bid but when you listen to them that’s not the case.”
The 37-year-old musician’s favourite track on the new LP is ‘This Car Drives All By Itself’, and he explained how each of their records have “one truly special song”.
He added: “I love ‘This Car Drives’, Jack­nife Lee pro­duced it.
“It seems we have one truly spe­cial song on each album.
“’Greek Tragedy’ on the third, ‘Turn’ on the fourth and for me ‘This Car Drives’ is that spe­cial moment again, that doesn’t come around too often.”
The 12-track album was recorded remotely, with Murph in Los Angeles, bassist Tord Overland Knudsen in Oslo and drummer Dan Haggis in London, while they worked with top producers including Jacknife (U2, The Killers), Gabe Simon (Dua Lipa, Lana Del Rey), Paul Meaney (Twenty One Pilots, Nothing But Thieves), Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Mike Crossey (The 1975, The War on Drugs, Yungblud).
It’s the first time the trio have created an album without being in the same room, which resulted in them experimenting even more with their sound.
Dan said in a statement: “We’re so excited for people to hear this new album! We’ve explored new genres and pushed ourselves further than ever musically. It will always stand out for us in our memories from our other albums as we recorded it across three cities during lockdown, and we weren’t all in the same room at the same time!”
The band will be promoting the record with a full UK arena tour, including a huge headline show at The O2 in London on April 15.

OHMYGOSSIP — FKA twigs says she needs to give Dua Lipa a call to organise finishing off their duet.
The ‘Tears In The Club’ star – who has just dropped her collaborative mixtape,’ CAPRISONGS’ – and the ‘Levitating’ hitmaker teased fans by performing a tiny snippet of the track during the latter’s ‘Studio 2054’ live-streamed concert in 2020.
And the 33-year-old star says there is “no explanation” as to why they’ve not got around to completing it and putting it out in the world.
On how the collaboration came about, twigs – whose real name is Tahliah Barnett – told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “A friend of a friend sent me a voice note of somebody that I’ve never even met, like basically hassling me for that Dua Lipa bump.
“I was like, that’s just like the cherry on top. I’ll just put that on. Why isn’t it on the internet? Honestly, there’s literally no reason. I think there’s actually no reason why we haven’t finished it.
“I don’t even have a reason.
“I’ve been busy doing the mixtape, but maybe I’ll give Dua a little call. Maybe it’s something that we need to – Yeah, we’ll do it.
Yeah, we will. We will do it. We’ll do it. We’ll do it. We’ll do it. Yeah. There’s no reason. I have no explanation.
“I feel like I’m in school, you know when your teacher tells you off and you just have no reason for why you didn’t do your homework?”
Before the show-stopping performance – which saw twigs pole dance – Dua, 26, teased: “[Twigs is] working on some new stuff and she hit me up and was like, ’Do you wanna get in the studio? Should we do something together?’.
“We made a song that we both really love. Then I asked her whether she wanted to be in the live-stream, and maybe we could tease a little bit of the song. So that’s what we’re gonna do, which I’m really, really, really excited about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Richard Ashcroft has shared a new remix of ‘C’mon People (We’re Making It Now)’ with Liam Gallagher.
The track previously featured on Ashcroft’s 2021 album ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1’ and the musician has now shared a new mix of the song, titled the ‘Don’t Stop Now’ mix.
Speaking previously about the collaboration, Richard said: “People need to appreciate the soul in Liam’s voice. For me, I could appreciate my song again, like any creative person, we are always on to the next thing and we all have insecurities but that was so fantastic to hear. It’s this brilliant, natural thing and he knows that. There are special reasons and musical reasons that it sounds the way it does, he brought his musicality and added something so it works on multiple levels.”
Liam added “I first heard ‘C’mon People’ when I kidnapped Richard and Kate for the weekend in Formentera, 20 odd years ago, I don’t think he’d even finished writing it. I’ve loved it ever since and play it round the house on many a drunk occasion. It’s a privilege to sing it.”
‘C’mon People (We’re Making It Now)’ originally featured on Richard’s debut solo album ‘Alone With Everybody’ in 2000.
Richard previously revealed he would love to get in the studio with Liam to record new material, but admitted it’s difficult to get their schedules to align.
Richard said: “I’d love to write a song with Liam.
“If he’s up for it, I’m up for it.
“I’ve got loads of ideas for what me and Liam could do and I’d love it if we had a bit more time to make it happen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie Spector was a hero to Amy Winehouse.
The Ronettes singer died earlier this week at the age of 78 “after a brief battle with cancer” and Amy’s collaborator Mark Ronson revealed Ronnie was an inspiration to the late star.
He tweeted: “This might be not be a huge surprise to anyone but Ronnie Spector was a hero to Amy Winehouse. It’s one of the first things Amy made me listen to before we started working. She was incredible. Thank you Ronnie for the inspiration.”
Following Amy’s death in 2011 at the age of 27, Spector paid tribute to her with a cover of Amy’s ‘Back To Black’ with all proceeds going to the Daytop Village treatment facility for drug addiction.
She said at the time: “When I saw her two weeks ago on TV and she was all drugged out, drinking and stuff, I said, ‘Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it! Don’t become like I was 20 years ago! I cleaned up. You gotta clean up!’ And two weeks later, she’s dead. I’m devastated.”
Ronnie passed away “in the arms” of her husband and manager Jonathan Greenfield, a family statement confirmed during the week.
The statement posted to RonnieSpector.com read: “Our beloved earth angel, Ronnie, peacefully left this world today after a brief battle with cancer. She was with family and in the arms of her husband, Jonathan.
“Ronnie lived her life with a twinkle in her eye, a spunky attitude, a wicked sense of humor and a smile on her face. She was filled with love and gratitude.
“Her joyful sound, playful nature and magical presence will live on in all who knew, heard or saw her.
“In lieu of flowers, Ronnie requested that donations be made to your local women’s shelter or to the American Indian College Fund.
“A celebration of Ronnie’s life and music will be announced in the future.
“The family respectfully asks for privacy at this time.”
Ronnie’s passing came almost a year to the day that her ex-husband, infamous music producer Phil Spector, passed away aged 81.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was married to Phil – who was serving a 19-year sentence in prison for the murder of Lana Clarkson at the time of his death – between 1968 until 1974.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie took a break to “experience some a*******” and inspire her songwriting.
The ‘Ciao Adios’ hitmaker is known for pouring her heart into her lyrics and doesn’t hold back, but she needed some fresh inspiration for her new material.
She told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I’ve been back in the studio, which has been fun.
“I actually took a break for the first time ever. I basically just realised that I hadn’t stopped writing since maybe seven years ago.
“But after the second album came out I needed to figure out what the next idea is, to live and experience some a*******.”
The 30-year-old star admitted she feels empowered after focusing on her newfound freedom as she made sure to do things “on [her] own”.
She explained: “I set a task to do something on my own, because I’ve never done anything on my own – travel, I haven’t been to the shops on my own, I haven’t done anything because I’m so scared!
“It was the fear of getting things wrong, so I decided to go to the theatre on my own and watch a show in the West End.
“I went online and booked the tickets by myself, which seems so stupid but I’d never done this.”
Last year, Anne-Marie opened up on her decision to keep writing songs about past relationships.
Discussing her second album ‘Therapy, she explained: “Talking about past relationships brings up the emotion again.
“It’s about what I felt in the past and what I am starting to feel now about past relationships.
“It can be the same situation as on my first album [‘Speak Your Mind’], but because of where I am at now, it’s a completely different point of view.”
Thankfully for Anne-Marie, none of her former flames have got in touch over her tunes.
She added: “I haven’t had to deal with exes, which is great. It is quite nice being able to sing about it. Before I had a therapist, my therapy was telling everyone about what I’ve been through.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin wanted to start a band because of ‘Back To The Future’.
The Coldplay frontman has opened up on how he was inspired by the 1985 time travel classic, and seeing Michael J. Fox’s performance of ‘Johnny B. Goode’ in the movie was the spark he needed.
Appearing on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’, he said: “That’s what made me want to be in a band, you know? That scene, yeah.
“I grew up in real farmland of England, before the internet. So any music on TV … The first thing I ever recorded was, there was a show called ‘The A-Team’.
“And I had a cassette recorder and held it against the TV to record the theme tune.”
Chris also opened up on his favourite cover versions the band have played live over the years, and admitted he was delighted to have Fox – who played Marty McFly in the iconic triloy – join him on stage.
During a 2016 show at New Year’s MetLife Stadium, Fox and Coldplay played ‘Johnny B. Goode’ and ‘Earth Angel’ from the movie, which was a “wonderful” moment for the 44-year-old musician.
He said: “My number one, probably, is Michael J. Fox came and played two of the songs from Back to the Future with us.. That was really wonderful.
“Him coming to play ‘Johnny B. Goode’ and stuff, that was wonderful.”
Meanwhile, Chris recently revealed Coldplay will stop making music in 2025 as they look to focus on touring rather than releasing new material.
He explained: “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour.
“Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue as it were finishes then.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tina Barrett says there can’t be an S Club 7 reunion without all seven members agreeing to it.
The late 90s pop group got back together in 2015 for a UK arena tour, and although Tina, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh and Rachel Stevens – who will appear on our screens as a contestant on ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ – are all “up for it” they won’t do it without the other three.
Speaking on ‘The Hundamental Guide to Life’ podcast, she told host Gareth Howells: “I have to say, some of the members are up for it. I can actually say who.
“I know Rachel wants to do it, Hannah wants to do it. I would definitely love to do it, and Brad. But obviously we need all seven so we are going to see what happens really. More than half are up for it so you never know.”
Tina – who has five-year-old son Roman – did not name check her other bandmates, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee and Paul Cattermole, implying that they were less than willing to have an ‘S Club Party’.
On the podcast, Tina also spoke about the famous skimpy red dress she wore to the S Club 7 film premiere in 2003 while her bandmates opted to go a bit more subdued and covered up.
Tina – who was 26 at the time – said: “To be honest, I thought the others were going to go dressy but they weren’t at all! They were literally covered from head to toe so it looked even more crazy.”
She also highlighted a gap music nowadays to be more “uplifting and positive”, like the records S Club did.
Tina explained: “’That period of time, the music was so uplifting and so positive – I think people are missing that because you don’t have those fun bands where the music is a little bit tongue in cheek and lots of fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blossoms have delayed their European tour due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns.
The ‘For Evelyn’ hitmakers – which consists of lead vocalist Tom Ogden, bassist Charlie Salt, guitarist Josh Dewhurst, drummer Joe Donovan and keyboardist Myles Kellock – have opted to hold off on playing on the continent due to the spread of the Omicron variant.
In a collective statement, the group said: “We’re really gutted to have to that, due to the current situation with COVID, our forthcoming dates in Germany, France, Belgium and Netherlands have been postponed and will no longer be happening in January and February.”
Blossoms are “looking to reschedule the dates and will announce as soon as possible as we have the news”.
The statement concluded: “Really sorry to have to do this. Blossoms X.”
The band are still planning to go-ahead with their UK tour, with shows set to happen in Southampton, Doncaster, Warrington in May.
In autumn 2021, the band collaborated with 1980s pop star Rick Astley to perform concerts in which they covered songs by iconic indie band The Smiths.
Former Smiths singer Morrissey offered his “sincere thanks” to the band and the ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ hitmaker for their interpretation of his songs; ‘Panic’ and ‘This Charming Man’.
He added that “anything that generates interest in the tired old Smiths warhorse is testimony to the wallop it pack”.
However, despite his support, the band’s guitarist and joint founding member Johnny Marr was less enthusiastic about it, labelling it “funny and horrible at the same time”.
At the time, he tweeted: “Well, I met The Blossoms a few weeks ago and they elected to not mention it. Nice.”
Later, Johnny elaborated: “I didn’t ask for that, but sometimes stuff like that happens when you’re in the public eye.
“There was an M.O. there that just wasn’t very cool – but I’ve dealt with it. I think I’m a pretty reasonable person, and I’ve dealt with it.”
