OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Cairney thinks the music industry has become a “fairer place”.
The 36-year-old DJ has praised the way in which artists’ welfare has become increasingly more important and musicians have gained more control of their careers.
She said: “I think that perhaps that the music industry has become hopefully a fairer place. I think a lot of questions have been raised as to the industry side of it. How hard are a pop star’s team working? And how much do they want to do? And how much days they have in their careers?
“I think that a lot has been exposed and sort of been flipped over upon in terms of a conversation about streaming, or image.
“I think that there’s discussions being had that have never been had before, which are a much more kind of caring and respectful of the artists themselves.”
Gemma praised the BRIT Awards with Mastercard for making a shift to gender neutral categories.
She said: “I think gender neutrality is a good thing. I think we should be accepting people as individuals. And the less we focus on the specifics and expectancies of gender, the better because often what you find statistically, and the research will tell us that actually, the more we divide, the harder it is, for those that choose to identify as women.
“If we smash some of the boxes in the category, then that’s a step forward.”
Gemma’s latest project with Mastercard sees her mentoring The BRIT School students on their creative work through #ShoutOut in partnership with The BRIT Awards and, as a former student there herself, she admitted she was “proud” to get involved because the establishment will always hold a “special place” in her heart.
She said: “I have a special place in my heart for those years at the BRIT School. I think the world is very different now.
“But at the same time, I had my own kind of personal liberation by attending a free performing arts school and, seeking I guess there’s a difference as to what was available to me with regard to mainstream education. And it really was a defining institute for me in most formative years.
“So it was a pleasure to and I felt quite proud to be asked to be a mentor. I think if you told me little that I would be given that opportunity. And I would have a career that was deemed successful enough to be seen as somebody that, that the younger versions of me could learn from.”

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra is set to release his new album on June 10.
The 28-year-old star has announced that ‘Gold Rush Kid’ will released later this year, while the first single – ‘Anyone For You’ – is already available to stream and download.
George – whose last album, ‘Staying at Tamara’s’, was released in 2018 – said of his new single: “‘Anyone For You’ is a patchwork of lyric ideas found in old notebooks and chance moments shared between musicians in the studio.
“It’s joyous and infectious, and I can’t help but smile every time I sing it.”
George plans to debut some of the album’s songs for the first time at a series of intimate shows in February and March.
The singer will perform at Manchester Opera House on February 27, at Edinburgh Kings Theatre on February 28, and at the London Palladium on March 2.
Tickets for the upcoming gigs will go on sale on February 4 at 10am.
Meanwhile, George previously admitted that lockdown has given him a new perspective on his music career.
The ‘Budapest’ hitmaker explained: “I’ve only ever known this thing as being full-on, all-consuming madness. At this point though – I don’t want my manager to hear this – I’m up for it.
“I feel so fortunate with the conversations going on. We’re talking about future shows and different artworks and what a show might look like.
“I don’t know what it is that’s changed in me, but something has. I go, ‘This is real life, this is what you get to talk about’. It’s a really beautiful thing to wake up and be involved in something creative.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat has branded the perception that she is a “viper rapper girl with boobs and a**” as “shallow”.
The ‘Woman’ rapper has hit out at those who see her as a sexual object with “no opinions” from her appearances on television.
Speaking to Rolling Stone UK, the 26-year-old superstar explained how she is often seen as: “A vapid rapper girl with boobs a**, and I have no opinions.
“You see someone on a screen, and they’re putting on an act and doing a thing for the camera, and you’re like, ‘Oh, that’s how they are all the time.’
“It’s a shallow way to think, that the person on the TV is nothing but a glob of pixels doing clown s***.”
The ‘Say So’ hitmaker went on to admit she doesn’t like to “parade personal experiences” in her lyrics because then people assume they know her.
She said: “I don’t like to parade personal experiences through my music because everybody has something to say about me and they think they f***ing know me.
“That kind of turns your life into this big, big Broadway show.”
Meanwhile, Doja recently admitted she has become more restrained on social media since finding fame.
The music star – whose real name is Amala Dlamini – was hugely enthusiastic about social media before she released her debut album ‘Amala’ in 2018, but Doja admits she’s become more cautious with her posts over recent years.
She explained: “I used to be on Periscope a lot. I’d be live for 10 or 12 hours at a time. I’d be making beats, and they weren’t any good, but it was fun.
I would just be yelling at and roasting people, and they would be like, ‘Damn, why are you so mad?’ But then some people would think it was funny and go along with it. That was me back then, and I love going in on people, but I stopped because with a big platform, you don’t want to hurt anybody.
“You have power and you’re looked at a certain way, and if you go in on people and s***, it doesn’t help you or them, and they can tear you down more than you can tear them down.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Rock says he will not perform at venues with COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates on his upcoming tour.
The ‘All Summer Long’ hitmaker is set to embark on his ‘Bad Reputation’ tour of North America from April and says he will not be doing gigs at venues with mandates in place against the virus.
Speaking to fans in a Facebook video, Rock said: “If there are any of these venues – I’m not aware of any – they’re gonna be gone by the time we get to your city.
“If they’re not, trust me, you don’t have to worry, you’ll be getting your money back because I won’t be showing up either.”
The music star – whose real name is Robert Richie – confirmed that he did not book shows in New York and Toronto because of vaccine mandates.
Rock added: “If you think I’m going to sit out there and sing, ‘Don’t Tell Me How to Live’ and ‘We the People’, while people are holding up their f***ing vaccine cards and wearing masks – that s*** ain’t happening.”
Rock’s new track ‘We the People’ takes a swipe at US President Joe Biden and infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci and he claimed that former Commander-in-chief Donald Trump sent him a message of congratulations about the song.
The 51-year-old star posted on Instagram: “I just got off the phone with our 45th President (hopefully 47th) and he expressed how proud of me he was over ‘We The People’ being the No1 song on iTunes! Suck on that you trolls, critics and haters!
“Thank you to all the fans, I can’t wait to see you on tour! Pedal to the f***in’ metal, LET’S GO!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Marr couldn’t wait to tell his mum he’d recorded the guitar riff to a Bond theme.
The former Smiths rocker provided the guitars on ‘No Time To Do’ with Billie Eilish on lead vocals and an orchestral arrangement by iconic composer Hans Zimmer, and he was so proud to be involved, he immediately jumped on the phone to tell his mother.
Speaking to friend Jon Savage in the new issue of Rolling Stone UK, he said: “That really was a highlight [laughs].
“When I did it, I went and phoned my mum, ‘Guess what I’ve just done, mum!'”
The ‘Changing Man’ rocker – who this week locked horns with his former bandmate Morrissey over the latter’s claims Marr was using his name as “click-bait” – added how ‘No Time To Die’ and working on the soundtrack for Christopher Nolan’s 2020 flick ‘Inception’ with Hans inspired his own solo music and got him playing the 12-string guitar again.
The 58-year-old star – who releases his new solo album, ‘Fever Dreams Pts 1-4’, on February 25 – said: “Yeah, I’d say that working with Hans brought that in.
“It’s made me double down on some things because I didn’t realise until I was told that guitars in films were a no-no for a few decades because of some atrocities that were committed in the 80s.
“‘Inception’ changed that.
“It was such a big movie – after that, in so many television adverts you would hear riff and Hans’ horns.
“Also, because I used a 12-string guitar on all the [scores], it’s got me back to playing a 12-string.”
Marr previously admitted he felt it was important to have guitar on ‘No Time To Die’ to honour the late James Bond composer John Barry’s legacy.
He said: “Growing up as a British boy in the late 60s, 70s, 80s, to me, the Bond theme should have guitar in it – especially the John Barry stuff.
“The sound of it to me, the guitar riff. It’s a super thrill to do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra became “overwhelmed” by the idea of touring during lockdown.
The 28-year-old singer has announced that his third album ‘Gold Rush Kid’ will be released in June and says that the record is inspired by the positives of his life as a pop star as the pandemic has changed his perspective on stardom.
George told Hits Radio: “In the last two years I’ve allowed myself to be overwhelmed by the idea of touring and doing stuff publicly.
“It’s not going to last forever, so I just need to enjoy it while it’s here. I’ve met people, seen things and been to places that I never should have, and I’ve loved that.”
Ezra – who recently released his new single ‘Anyone For You’ – joked that there has been a silver lining during lockdown as he has been able to change his hairstyle.
The ‘Budapest’ hitmaker said: “Lockdown sorted the hair out because I had no choice but to grow it. I was like, ‘Dude, you should have been doing this ages ago.'”
George previously suggested that the pandemic has enabled him to cut loose as his mindset has changed.
The star – who has been open about his struggles with anxiety and OCD in the past – said: “I’m having a lot of fun at the moment and I feel like, let’s turn it up a gear.
“Having missed out – all of us having missed people, experiences – it’s just, lean into them, now knowing what it feels like without them. When opportunities arrive, grab them.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles is reportedly set to perform at Glastonbury this year.
The former One Direction singer is said to be at the top of various festival wish-lists this year, with bosses from the world-famous Somerset event said to feel the time is right to welcome the ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker to their iconic Pyramid Stage for the first time.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper’s Wired column: “Harry’s name was mentioned a few times as a possible performer at Glasto 2020 but they felt it was still too early.
“However, his music has connected with so many more people since then and his live performances are even better, which has all the festivals after his signature.”
The 27-year-old singer has already booked a high-profile slot at California’s Coachella festival and is in high demand around the world.
The insider added: “Harry headlines Coachella in the US this year, which is just as big a show.
“That tells you everything you need to know about his status and pulling power this year.”
The ‘Adore You’ hitmaker has a gap in his schedule between a Dublin concert and another show in Germany that would allow him to take to the stage at Worthy Farm.
So far, organisers have confirmed Billie Eilish as one of this year’s headliners, while Diana Ross will take the Legends slot.
Glastonbury runs from 22 to 26 June.
Earlier this month, Harry announced a string of rescheduled dates for his ‘Love On Tour’ concert series across the UK, Europe and South America this year, including his first-ever solo stadium gigs.
He wrote on Instagram: “I’m so happy to announce that ‘Love On Tour 2022’ is finally coming to the UK, Europe and South America. “I’m so excited to see you. Thank you, I love you. H.”
The run kicks off on June 11 in Glasgow, before heading to Manchester, London and Dublin, and going across the Channel to Europe and then on to Latin America.
However, the ‘Sign of the Times’ singer has been forced to abandon the Australian and New Zealand leg of the tour, which had originally been planned for November 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit.
He said: “To everyone in Australia and New Zealand, I can’t believe it’s been four years. I can’t wait to see you again, but unfortunately it is just not possible at this time. I will be sharing news soon about new shows. I love you all so much. I miss you, and I can’t wait to see you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kiefer Sutherland loves touring.
The 55-year-old actor-turned-singer – who released his third studio album ‘Bloor Street’ earlier this month – has revealed that the idea of performing live is the main motivation behind his music career.
He said: “I make albums so that I can tour. It’s the thing that I’ve really, really enjoyed the most. And the thing I was probably the least prepared for the first record came out almost eight years ago.”
The Emmy Award-winning star – who played the role of Jack Bauer on long-running drama series ’24’ – went on to explain that when released first album, he mistakenly thought that having worked on TV and movie sets for decades would help him when it came to performing on tour.
Speaking on CBC’s ‘The Q Interview’, he added: “We toured that record and I had this kind of odd idea that somehow 35 years of working as an actor on stage and in front of a camera could help me in performing the music live. And I was so wrong.
It was staggering because I left out one major component. There’s no character to hide behind. I am by no stretch of the imagination Jack Bauer and I found myself in front of 400 people telling stories about where this song came from, and very personal stories.
“You can feel someone [in the audience] going ‘That’s happened to me too!’ And we have that in common and so by the end of the evening, there’s this sense that we understand and know each other better than we did at the beginning of the evening. And man, anytime that happens, I’ve always known that to be an amazing night.
“It is a bit odd to release a record knowing that you’re not going to be able to tour it right away [due to COVID]. But I am very proud of the album and times are what times are and this is what it is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shawn Mendes has postponed the UK and European leg of his ‘Wonder’ world tour by more than a year.
The ‘Stitches’ hitmaker was supposed to hit the road in March this year for a series of concerts but due to uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic, he and his team have made the “really difficult decision” to delay the start of the tour until May 2023.
He said in a statement: “This was a really difficult decision to make, but unfortunately we have to reschedule the UK & EU tour from 2022 to 2023.
“With all of the logistical, travel and venue restrictions still uncertain in Europe due to the pandemic, we were forced to make the tough decision of moving the tour leg to the end of the tour when we are confident we are able to travel and can put on the best possible show we want to, safely and at full capacity.”
While he won’t be performing the shows this year, Shawn is still keeping busy.
He added: “I’m so sorry I won’t be able to see you guys sooner. But I am working on a ton of new music for you all ! I’m excited for you to hear.”
The 23-year-old star will now kick off his world tour in June with the first of two North American stints.
The European leg of the tour has been rearranged to begin in Bologna, Italy, on 31 May 2023 and runs until 1 August, when Shawn will close out the run of shows in Dublin.
Meanwhile, Shawn previously opened up about therapy after releasing the track ‘In My Blood’ in 2018, which deals with his anxiety.
He said: “Therapy is listening to music and running on the treadmill, therapy is going to dinner with your friends – it’s something that distracts you, that helps you heal and so it just depends on what you think therapy is. I made a conscious effort to be more connected to the people in my life.
“I found I was closing myself off from everybody, thinking that would help me battle it then seeing the only way I was going to battle it was completely opening up and letting people in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ty Brasel’s new album is inspired by overcoming “adversities”.
The Christian rapper – who has been compared to Post Malone – has opened up about how ‘Destiny: Vol. 1.’ contains his most personal lyrics about “dealing with my issues”.
He explained to Wonderland magazine: “As I become more aware of my own heart and mind, dealing with my issues, I turn that into lyrics. So many of the songs on this new project have come out of me facing my problems head-on and reaching out when everything in me wants to turn away. We can overcome even the worst of adversities.”
Ty previously shared how prayer is involved in his songwriting process.
He said in a 2015 interview: “I find myself walking in circles most of the time when I write.
“I really take my time and don’t rush the process.
“It takes lot of prayer and reading God’s word constantly. I try to be culturally relevant and biblically sound.”
The hip-hop star previously shared how he “gave my life to Christ” when he was eight, but due to his partying ways and drug use during his younger years, he didn’t consider the relationship he has with God to be “serious” until around 2013.
He shared: “I gave my life to Christ when I was eight years old. However, I fell off many times throughout middle school, high school and even college due to a lifestyle of drugs and partying. I didn’t have a strong and serious relationship with God until about two years ago.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper is working on two new “pure rock and roll” albums.
The ‘School’s Out’ hitmaker is back in the studio creating more music and explained how far along he was with the new material on SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation’.
The 73-year-old shock rocker told host Eddie Trunk: “I’m working on two albums right now.
“One is … totally written, and we’ll be doing bed tracks for that one pretty soon. The other one is just a touch in the future, but that’s being written right now too.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer noted that he’s working with long-time producer Bob Ezrin on both LPs and that they are “entirely different”.
Alice – whose real name is Vincent Damien Furnier – said: “They’re two entirely different kinds of albums, but they’re Alice Cooper, pure rock’n’roll albums.”
“The two albums will really be hard rock albums.”
The first of the two records will be released later this year.
The ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ rocker’s last studio album was 2021’s ‘Detroit Stories’.
Meanwhile, Alice is due to embark on a joint arena tour with The Cult in the UK this year.
The ‘Poison’ hitmaker and the British post-punk legends will hit the road on a co-headline run, kicking off on May 23 in Swansea, Wales, and wrapping at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, Yorkshire on June 1.
The concerts will mark the rock music legend’s first shows on British soil since the COVID-19 pandemic, following his 2019 run and his 2020 LP reaching number four in the Official UK Chart, his highest chart position in two decades.

OHMYGOSSIP — Union J are reuniting for a one-off show and documentary.
The boy band – comprising George Shelley, Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley – will be reunited on stage at the London Palladium on May 28.
The ‘Carry You’ hitmakers have also revealed they were dropped by Epic Records following the release of their 2014 LP ‘You Got It All’.
Jaymi, 31, told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “All offers were off the table for two years, so the relationships started ­blossoming again between all of us as a four.
“I went to George first, then I went to Josh and then I rang JJ and said, ‘Well you haven’t got any choice, you’re still in the contract’.”
JJ added: “We’re like four brothers. We’ve spent the last few days together and it’s so natural.”
The band were originally known as Triple J when they auditioned for ‘The X Factor’ in 2011, but changed their name when they were grouped with George, 28, on the show.
They signed to RCA Records after finishing fourth in the competition and released their debut single in June 2013.
George competed on ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ and quit the group in March 2016.
He was replaced by another former ‘X Factor’ star, Stereo Kicks singer Casey Johnson, but his tenure with the group didn’t last long.
In 2018, Josh, 29, announced his departure, citing his desire to pursue “individual opportunities across entertainment and music”.
Jaymi has admitted they had convinced themselves that they were going to release a third album, despite being ditched by their label.
Speaking about parting ways with Epic for the first time, he said: “There was a real shift.
“We never told anyone we were dropped by our label and we didn’t get an explanation. We didn’t speak about it, we didn’t go out to new labels to try to get a new deal, so we just pretended we were still doing album No3. We were lying to ourselves.”
George battled with depression after his younger sibling Harriet passed away from a “severe traumatic brain injury” at the age of 21 after being hit by a car in April 2017, and later spoke about his grief in the BBC Three documentary ‘George Shelley: Learning to Grieve’ .
He said: “Our dreams were crushed. I was suffering a lot with my mental health at the time and it didn’t feel like there was much going on.
“I still wanted to remain friends with everyone and Jaymi and I stayed really close, I’ve seen JJ a tiny bit, and Josh and I haven’t seen each other in six years.
“It’s beautiful to be back. But that label news was the crushing moment. It felt like the end of the road for us.”
It turns out, each band member “suffered from clinical depression” after being thrust into the limelight.
Josh said: “There were so many occasions when we were doing Union J that I should have loved and I didn’t, because my mental health was suffering. I was unhappy all the time.”
Jaymi added: “I know things are huge at the moment about men’s mental health but eight years ago it wasn’t. We all suffered from clinical depression at one point and I didn’t have a clue what it was.”
Further details regarding the documentary are yet to be revealed.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney chokes up listening to the song he penned about his and John Lennon’s “disputes about The Beatles break up”.
The 79-year-old music legend has revealed he struggles to listen to ‘Dear Friend’, which was released on the debut album by his band Wings, ‘Wild Life’, which he formed with his then-wife Linda following the demise of the ‘Let it Be’ group in 1971.
In a new Q&A on PaulMcCartney.com, he said: “And then with ‘Dear Friend’, that’s sort of me talking to John after we’d had all the sort of disputes about The Beatles break up. I find it very emotional when I listen to it now. I have to sort of choke it back.
“I remember when I heard the song recently, listening to the roughs (remastering works-in-progress) in the car. And I thought, ‘Oh God’. That lyric: ‘Really truly, young and newly wed’.”
Lennon was fatally shot, aged 40, outside his New York City apartment in the famous Dakota building by Mark David Chapman in December 1980.
And McCartney, who had to listen back to ‘Wild Life’ for the remastered 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Vinyl version of the LP, which is available from February 4, is grateful that he was able to reconcile with Lennon before his death.
He continued: “Listening to that was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s true!’ I’m trying to say to John, ‘Look, you know, it’s all cool. Have a glass of wine. Let’s be cool.’
“And luckily we did get it back together, which was like a great source of joy because it would have been terrible if he’d been killed as things were at that point and I’d never got to straighten it out with him.
“This was me reaching out. So, I think it’s very powerful in some very simple way. But it was certainly heartfelt.”
The Beatles were recently the subject of Peter Jackson’s Disney+ docu-series, ‘The Beatles: Get Back’, which shows the Fab Four – which also included Sir Ringo Starr, 81, and the late George Harrison – working on, rehearsing, and performing the album that would become their last, 1970’s ‘Let it Be’.
McCartney has maintained that he was not the reason behind the legendary Liverpool group’s split and that it was actually initiated by Lennon.
The ‘Penny Lane’ hitmaker suggested the other members had all reached the same point in their lives when it was time to move on, even if they didn’t realise it at the time.
He said: “There was a meeting where John came in and said, ‘I’m leaving the group.’ And looking back on it, he’d reached that stage in his life. We all had.”

The 27-year-old indie star, who scooped the Rising Star award in 2019, is among the performers set to take to the stage at the ceremony at The O2 arena in London on February 8.
The musician said in a statement: “It’s beyond a dream to be performing at the BRIT Awards this year. Me and the band are so excited to get up on that stage, it’s going to be mega!!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has announced an open-air concert at Cardiff Bay’s Alexandra Head.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer decided to have a year off touring due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to spend 2021 finishing his new LP – the follow-up to his record-breaking 2019 debut studio album, ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’.
However, he did perform a one-off gig at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last month.
On July 20, the 25-year-old BRIT Award-winner will take to the stage for a headline slot as part of the venue’s The Bay series in the Welsh city.
Lewis has a number of shows planned in 2022, including Manchester’s Parklife and the Isle of Wight Festival in June.
In a lengthy Instagram post to his millions of followers last March, Lewis admitted he was pulling out of his live shows with a “heavy heart”, but promised his fans he would be back with a new album and new songs to play for them in 2022.
His social media post read: “Hello everyone, it’s Lewis Capaldi here. It’s been a while, hope you’re all staying safe!
“Just want to start off this wee note by saying how class it is to see things looking more hopeful for the world after an absolutely horrible year. I’ve been looking back at the madness of my life for the last little while and feeling really grateful to be able to call this music carry on a job for the past few years.
“I’d be lying if I said I haven’t been terrified about making my next album since the moment I finished ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’.
“I’ve been writing loads of tunes I’m really excited about and I can’t wait for you to hear them. I really want to make sure whatever I put out next is the absolute best it can be, partly for my own sanity, cause I’m going to have to sing these songs every night for the next few years on tour, but ultimately for all of you who made the first album everything it was.
“Despite having all this extra time to write, all the COVID restrictions have made it harder to go and record stuff I’ve been working on or even be around all the people I loved working with on the first album.
“For that reason, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I’ve made the difficult decision to reschedule this year’s shows and put all my effort into making the best album I can for you.
“I hate the thought of letting anyone down, especially after the year we’ve just had but I know that, more than anything, getting the album right has to be my number one priority at the moment. I hope you understand.
“I’m really sorry I won’t be out there with you this year, but I’ll be back in 2022 with new music and a shit load of shows in as many places as I can possibly get to across the world.”
The singer-songwriter had been due to perform at a number of festivals, including the Isle of Wight Festival and TRNSMT – which takes place in his hometown of Glasgow.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says Ed Sheeran is a “good lad” – despite disliking his music.
The former Oasis guitarist previously included the flame-haired pop star in his list of “s*** best-selling stars”, and while he still isn’t a fan of the ‘Shivers’ hitmaker’s hits, the 54-year-old rocker says Ed is a true gentleman.
Speaking about his phone call with the ‘Perfect’ hitmaker on his pal Matt Morgan’s podcast, he recalled: “I work for The Teenage Cancer Trust and I get to call up the bands and say, ‘Do you want to do it this year?’
“To cut a long story short, I spoke to Ed Sheeran and he said, ‘I can’t do it because I’m going to Australia … but I’ll do it next year.’
“I was like, ‘Whatever.’
“Anyway, he actually called me back a year later and said, ‘Right, this gig, let’s do it.’
“He’s a good lad, but his music … nah.”
Ed ended up making his debut at the TCT show in 2014, and the ‘Wonderwall’ rocker admitted he was shocked how the ‘Shape of You’ star can create a full band sound from his single guitar and loop pedal.
He said: “He came on stage on his own with that pedal, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I was like, ‘What the f***?!’
“A full tune was coming out of this little fella with his guitar, it was like f***ing hell.”
Noel tips his hat off to Ed, 30, for making millions with minimal overhead costs for his tours.
He added: “His overheads are nothing, he’s got an acoustic guitar and a microphone stand, a few checked shirts and a f***ing bracelet.
“I was talking to his tour manager, this was when he was just about to become the biggest star in ginger-dom, and he was like, ‘It’s a bit boring on tour, it’s just me and him.
“It’s just little Ed Sheeran on a tour bus, ‘All right mate, might get an early night tonight, bye.'”
