OHMYGOSSIP — Frank Turner admits it would be “pretty funny and pretty cool” if he lands his first UK Number One.
The ‘Recovery’ singer is currently in a “good position” to top the album charts with his latest record ‘FTHC’ – which stands for Frank Turner Hardcore – with Ed Sheeran’s LP ‘=’ also in the running.
In a video on social media, Frank said: “The midweeks for the charts just came out and it looks like we are in good position but with a challenger.
“It’s important to say when I was a kid I didn’t really care about the charts, and part of me still doesn’t.
“At the same time, like so many things in my career, it feels like the kind of thing I’m not really supposed to get, and therefore it’d be pretty funny and pretty cool if I did get that top spot.”
In the past, Frank’s albums – including YEAR’s ‘Tape Deck Hart’ and 2018’s ‘Positive Songs For Negative People’ – fell short in the number two spot, and he’s also facing competition from other new entries this week like ALT-J’s ‘The Dream’ and Slash and Myles Kennedy’s new record ‘4’.
He added: “My previous records have missed the top slot for various different reasons, including Dr. Dre and ‘The Greatest Showman’ and stuff like that. This week, it’s Ed Sheeran!
“Now, I have nothing but respect for Mr. Sheeran, he seems like a very nice guy from what I can tell, he’s a great songwriter.
“At the same time, he’s had quite a lot of number ones already, and it’d be nice if we got one.”
To celebrate the album release and make one last push for the top of the charts, the 40-year-old musician has announced a last minute launch party at London’s Clapham Grand with Pet Needs in support, which is taking place on Wednesday (16.02.22).

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr Dre has let slip that he’s discussed working with Mary J. Blige on her next album.
The music mogul – who produced Mary’s 2001 hit ‘Family Affair’ – spilled hat the pair spoke about teaming up on her follow-up to ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’, which was released last week, after they shared the stage during the Super Bowl LVI Halftime show on Sunday (13.02.22).
Dre told TMZ: “We’re talking about working together on her next project.
“I’m not even sure I’m supposed to be saying this or not, so I’m sorry Mary.”
On how they celebrated after the performance at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, he added: “We were downstairs having a ton of fun, just listening to samples and music.”
The 56-year-old record producer and 51-year-old Mary J. made history along with Eminem, 49, Snoop Dogg, 50, and Kendrick Lamar, 34, as it was the first time five music stars have performed during the legendary halftime slot.
Dre said: “Everybody came in, we were professional, everybody was on time.
“Everybody really felt the magnitude of what this thing was and what were were going to be able to accomplish, and it was a fantastic experience.”
Dre and Snoop opened the show with ‘The Next Episode’ and ‘California Love’ before 50 Cent came out as a surprise guest to perform his 2003 mega-hit ‘In Da Club’.
The ‘Candy Shop’ hitmaker was suspended by his feet from the ceiling of a trailer in homage to the music video for ‘In Da Club’ and was flanked by a group of backing dancers for the bonus performance.
Mary J. then performed ‘Family Affair’ into ‘No More Drama’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Madonna has reportedly recruited pal Katy Perry for a remix project.
The Queen of Pop previously had the ‘I Kissed A Girl’ hitmaker appear in her star-studded ‘B**** I’m Madonna’ music video in 2015, and now it’s been claimed Katy is to feature on a new remix of one of the ‘Like a Virgin’ hitmaker’s biggest hits for an upcoming album.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Madonna has been going flat out over the past few weeks.
“Not only is she working on her biopic but she’s also been in the studio at all hours.
“She’s been a massive fan of Katy for years and always talked about doing a song with her.
“With the remix project things have fallen into place. As plans are still being sorted out, no release date is set yet. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait too long.”
Madonna is celebrating four decades since the release of her 1982 debut single, ‘Everybody’, in October.
The ‘Beautiful Stranger’ singer has also been hard at work re-writing her biopic and confirmed she’s taken inspiration from one of her 2000 songs for the title.
She said: “I was thinking ‘What It Feels Like For A Girl’, that’s kind of cool, right?”
Madonna is finding it “really weird” delving back into her own history for the project.
She added: “It’s also really weird to be writing about my life and my past and not living my life. I feel like I’m living in the past a lot and it’s a bit of a mind f***.”
The ‘League of their Own’ actress recently revealed she’d been talking to Julia Fox about a role in the movie.
Sharing photos of a night out with the ‘Uncut Gems’ star, her then-boyfriend Kanye West, Antonio Brown, and Floyd Mayweather, she wrote on Instagram: “Went to dinner with Julia to talk about my movie and some other folks showed up………………(sic)”
It was later reported Julia is being considered to play Madonna’s friend Debi Mazar.

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975 will make their live comeback at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival in August.
Matt Healy and co – who are currently in England “writing, recording and mixing” their follow-up to 2020’s ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’ – will headline the festival in Tokyo and Osaka on August 20 and 21, following a two-year break from the road.
Summer Sonic – which takes place at Tokyo’s Zozomarine Stadium and Osaka’s Maishima Sonic Park – will also see performances from the likes of Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Yungblud and Maneskin.
The announcement regarding their live return comes after the ‘Chocolate’ group deleted their social media profiles and website, seemingly in preparation for their new era.
Matt, 32, previously revealed that being forced to take a break from touring amid the Covid-19 pandemic had been good for the band.
He wrote in a letter to fans: “Hello to all my darling The 1975 fans!! I do hope you are all well, considering how difficult things have been this year. It’s Matty here. I’ve been daydreaming about playing shows today – and although we definitely needed a break, I can’t tell you how much we miss spending those evenings with you guys.
“I think it’s fair to say that we maybe bit off slightly more than we could chew when it came to doing two full albums back to back. I don’t think the records suffered – if anything I think it gave them a strange energy and the last two records happen to be my favourites – but it definitely took its toll on us as individuals. It was wicked tho, beautiful! Like being beaten up by a magical unicorn!
“We had been either on tour or in the studio for nearly 8 years straight or some s*** – and I think that jolt that we ALL felt (globally) back in March as COVID-19 impacted all our lives provided us with a moment to reflect on stuff. (sic).

OHMYGOSSIP — Craig David has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Garage legend has been forced to reschedule his BRITs War Child charity gig at London’s Under The Bridge on Thursday (17.02.22) after waking up feeling “a touch funky” and subsequently finding out he has coronavirus.
The ‘7 Days’ hitmaker, who is in isolation, will now play the concert on March 10.
In a statement issued on his social media pages, the 40-year-old singer said: “I’m so sorry, but I woke up feeling a touch funky this morning so I did some tests and unfortunately tested positive for Covid. I’m feeling ok and just taking it easy in isolation. Apologies to anyone coming to my BRITs War Child show this coming Thursday, it has been rescheduled and will now happen on Thursday 10th March… I hope you can all still make it!”
Still set to perform as part of BRITs Week Presented by Mastercard for War Child is Damon Albarn, who plays a solo gig at London’s Troxy on Sunday (20.02.22).
Anne-Marie, Joy Crookes, Bastille, Becky Hill, Maisie Peters, Fontaines D.C. and Mimi Webb have all played intimate gigs to raise funds for the non-profit, which supports children in some of the world’s worst conflict areas.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sande has announced her new album, ‘Let’s Say For Instance’.
The 34-year-old singer left major label EMI records after a decade last year, and the Scottish star is set to release her follow-up to 2019’s ‘Real Life’ on the independent label Chrysalis Records on May 6.
She said in a statement issued to Variety: “I’m so proud of this album and can’t wait to release it. I’ve felt free to express myself more naturally both lyrically and musically in this album and my wish is that it will be an uplifting experience for each listener and that they will get to know me on a much deeper level.”
Tim Parry of Big Life Management commented: “Emeli is a wonderful artist and has made a brilliant record that all of us at Big Life are extremely proud to be involved with. Emeli previously admitted she “doubted” whether she should continue as a musician while battling anxiety and depression after she split from Adam Gouraguine in 2013, less than a year after they tied the knot.
She said: “I doubted whether I wanted to continue being a musician. I questioned whether people wanted to hear me, because people were saying I was on TV too much. People said I was overexposed, and then I thought, ‘Maybe I don’t have a place in this music industry, and if people don’t want to hear it, what shall I do?’
“I was going through my separation, and really trying to get my head around the industry and where I sat in it.
“It was everything all at once, and I lost my confidence. Even though I was shy as a kid, I was very confident about what I wanted to do, and I worked to try to make it happen.
“The saddest part, when someone’s suffering like that, is you lose your natural personality and the confidence goes.”
Emeli will embark on a tour of the UK and Europe in May and June 2022 in support of the new LP.
The ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’ hitmaker will be performing both with her full band, as well as select solo piano show dates, kicking off on May 16 in Glasgow, before heading to Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, London and Europe.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Morrison admits he struggled to write music during difficult periods of his life.
The ‘You Give Me Something’ hitmaker admitted his daughter Ada-Rose being born prematurely in 2018 – which came after his father’s death a few years earlier – had an impact on his songwriting.
He told the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column: “If I’ve got really stuff going on, it’s not like I can write a song that day and it’s going to help me.
“The love of music has always been there and, as soon as I stay away from my guitar or the singing for too long, it claws me back.
“It’s never gone but sometimes it’s turned down. Going through a lot of s*** with my youngest girl, and having to put my career on the back burner for a little bit, just allowed me to have perspective.”
The 37-year-old singer lost his dad a decade ago, and he admitted it might him reassess his priorities.
He said: “I was only on my second or third album at that point, and so all my career recognition that I thought was super-important to me, it turned out it wasn’t as important as my family.”
Now, James – who also has 13-year-old daughter Elsie with his wife Gill – is “in a good place” as he tries to strike a “balance”.
He added: “I’m still trying to get the balance right.
“The last few years, I’ve gone through some soul-searching and I’ve come out the other side feeling quite solid and grounded as an artist.”
Meanwhile, James – who has so far released five studio albums and has released a Greatest Hits compilation – recently admitted he had no idea how to look after his vocal health in the early days of his career, and revealed he “didn’t even drink water.”
He said: “I never used to do anything that was good for my voice at all. I didn’t even drink water! I was so naïve and learned how to sing in pubs, so smoking, drinking, loud talking and all that stuff was natural to me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Coachella and Stagecoach attendees will no longer have to follow COVID-19 safety measures.
Organisers of the world-famous festivals, which take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California between April 15 to 17 and 22 to 24, and April 29 to May 1, respectively, have confirmed festival-goers will not have to be vaccinated against coronavirus, test negative or wear face coverings.
A tweet on the official Stagecoach account read: “Festival Admission Update: As we prepare to spend an incredible weekend in the desert together we are announcing that there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Stagecoach 2022, in accordance with local guidelines. Visit http://stagecoachfestival.com for more info.”
Both the Coachella and Stagecoach websites state that: “There is an inherent and elevated risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place or place where people are present and there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.”
The rules for entry are subject to change, depending on the COVID-19 situation in the US.
Harry Styles, Billie Eilish and Kanye West will headline this year’s Coachella festival.
The extravaganza, fully titled the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, is set to return for the first time in two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
One Direction star Harry will headline both Fridays, on April 15 and 22, and Billie will be the main act on the Saturdays (April 16 and 23).
Kanye – who is officially on the bill as Ye, his legal name – will close both weekends on Sunday 17 and 24.
Other artists who will perform at the festival include Lil Baby, Big Sean, and Black Coffee, who will play on the two Fridays.
Before Billie takes to the stage for her shows, Flume, Megan Thee Stallion, Disclosure, 21 Savage, and Koffee will perform.
Acts on the Sundays include Doja Cat, Joji, Jamie xx, Karol G, Fatboy Slim, Maneskin, and Duke Dumont.
Swedish House Mafia will also return to the festival.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS have announced three gigs at Seoul Olympic Stadium.
The K-Pop septet are giving fans the chance to catch the ‘BTS Permission to Dance On Stage – Seoul’ performances in person or from the comfort of their home via a global livestream.
The homecoming shows in South Korea will mark the ‘Butter’ hitmakers’ first since 2019.
The stream will be available from March 10 and 13, and the March 12 gig will be broadcast live in theatres worldwide.
The news was announced by the band’s record label, Big Hit, on the Weverse platform.
In December, the boy band took an “extended period of rest” to “recharge” after completing their ‘Permission To Dance On Stage’ and ‘Jingle Bell Tour’ commitments.
And it was also teased that the ‘My Universe’ hitmakers are preparing their next album.
A statement said: “BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter.’ They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul.
“We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the fans who continue to cheer for BTS and they will return as their best, healthiest selves after recharging so they can return all the love from the fans. Thank you.”
The group has been hit with cases of COVID-19 over the past few months.
V was the latest member to test positive for the virus this week.
The 26-year-old star – whose real name is Kim Yae-hyung – made a trip to hospital on Tuesday (15.02.22) afternoon after experiencing a sore throat and a PCR test revealed he had contracted coronavirus, making him the fifth member of the band to test positive in the last three months.
Big Hit confirmed: “V completed two rounds of COVID-19 vaccinations and is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat.
“He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities.
“The company places the artists’ health as our top priority and we will do everything we can to aid V in his speedy recovery.
“We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the healthcare authorities.”
The company noted V had been in contact with other members of BTS on Saturday (12.02.22) but it was not close contact and everyone was wearing a mask.
No other members of the group are showing any symptoms, and everyone has tested negative for the virus.
Last month, Jimin tested positive for the virus while in hospital to undergo emergency surgery after falling ill with appendicitis.
In December, RM, Jin, and Suga all tested positive for COVID-19, but they had mild symptoms.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Townshend admits he “doesn’t deserve to be alive”.
The Who guitar legend – who has battled alcohol and substance abuse in the past – has admitted he’s “not been a perfect man”, especially in his youth, and he says it will be a miracle if he reaches 80.
The 76-year-old rocker told Rolling Stone: “Eighty is a strange number. I didn’t expect … To be absolutely brutal, I don’t deserve to be alive today. I have not been a perfect man. I think what I have done in the past 20 or 30 years has probably much more useful to society than anything I did as a young musician. I know I can continue to do good work in society as someone involved in public service and education and all those things. If that sounds pompous, then f*** you. It’s the truth. It’s a “f*** you” truth that I have to accept about myself.”
He continued: “When I sit in the bathroom and I’m thinking, ‘Yeah, yeah Townshend, you’re going to become a doctor, are you? You’re going to become a professor? What the f***?’
But I have to say, ‘Listen, if I live to be 80, that’ll be one of the only useful things I’ll be able to do.’ [Laughs] I certainly won’t be able to jump seven feet in the air without wires.”
Despite approaching their 80s, the ‘My Generation’ hitmaker insisted The Who have no plans to quit touring in the near future.
Pete confessed he doesn’t want to “die on the road” but frontman Roger Daltrey, 77, would gladly “sing until he drops”.
He insisted: “We’re not saying that, but what’s interesting is … I had a conversation with Roger. I said to him, ‘I don’t want to be like one of these guys that dies on tour.’ I do want to retire. And by “retire” I don’t mean retire from being a musician or artist or creator, but retire from the idea that it requires me to say yes to touring for a load of people to get a smile on their face and go home to their wife and go, ‘Hey, honey! Everything is fine! The Who are going back on tour!’
To be relieved of that responsibility, in a sense … because Roger is of the opinion that he wants to sing until he drops. That’s not my philosophy of life. There are other things that I want to do, still want to do, and will do, I hope. I hope I’ll live long enough to do them.”
The ‘Baba O’Reily’ group’s UK shows were hit by several delays owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and they plan to complete the run in 2023.
Pete added: “No. It’s not a farewell tour. Apart from anything else, we still have people who have tickets for the U.K. 2019 tour. We’re very, very keen to do that tour and we’ll be doing that tour in 2023.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Biffy Clyro have teamed up with Amazon Music on the upcoming documentary, ‘Biffy Clyro: Cultural Sons of Scotland’.
Fans can expect “unprecedented access to the band” – who formed in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, Scotland – in the fly-on-the-wall feature film documenting the recording process of the rock band’s ninth studio album, ‘The Myth of the Happily Ever After’.
Simon Neil and co returned to Ayrshire to create the follow-up to 2020’s ‘A Celebration of Endings’ in the intimate setting of a farm amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
A press release states that the documentary follows “the band’s ups and downs and their newfound approach to their creativity.”
The journey concludes with the ‘Many of Horror’ group returning to the stage with a sold-out outdoor show at Glasgow Green, for what marked their first show in their homeland in almost two years.
Speaking of the film, frontman Simon said: “In the same part of the world as I wrote my very first song is where we’re making this record, and there’s something really pure about that.”
Drummer Ben Johnston commented: “We don’t need all the bells and whistles for us to be fulfilled and happy, we just need the three of us to be making music together and have that vibe in a room – and that’s what keeps our hearts beating.”
Bassist James Johnston added: “Everyone should join a band… if you get a chance to go join a band with your brothers or your sisters, or people you consider to be a brother or a sister, that’s probably the best years you’ll ever have in your life.”
The film will premiere on Amazon Music and Prime Video on February 25, with select showings at four cinemas: Dalston’s Rio Cinema, Cameo in Edinburgh, DCA in Dundee and Everyman in Glasgow.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam’s Stone Gossard has revealed he’s a fan of Motley Crue amid Eddie Vedder’s feud with Nikki Sixx.
The glam-metal group’s bassist recently branded the Grunge rockers “one of the most boring bands in history”.
The ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ rocker was unimpressed when frontman Eddie slammed the 1980s hair metal scene, calling the movement “vacuous” and singling out Motley in particular, but insisted he was going to take the ‘Jeremy’ singer’s words as “kind of a compliment”.
And now, the ‘Alive’ group’s guitarist has insisted he has a differing opinion of Motley to Eddie and insisted he and his bandmates Mike McCready and Jeff Ament both love “hard rock”.
Stone, 55, said: “Jeff [Ament, Pearl Jam bassist] and Mike [McCready, guitarist] and I loved hard rock, like, went through it all. I bought the first Mötley Crüe on Leathür Records.
“I thought it was, at the time, it was punk-like. It had that same [energy]. It’s like Motörhead.”
He added to the ‘Fan First’ podcast: “There was things about it that I was discovering about British hard rock at that time that felt also rebellious or against the norm or something that made me interested in it. And I always liked heavy.”
In an interview with the New York Times, Eddie recalled his old job at a club in San Diego, where he helped to load bands’ gear and said: “I’d end up being at shows that I wouldn’t have chosen to go to – bands that monopolised late-‘80s MTV.
“The metal bands that – I’m trying to be nice – I despised. ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ and Mötley Crüe: [expletive] you. I hated it. I hated how it made the fellas look. I hated how it made the women look. It felt so vacuous.”
Nikki hit back on Twitter on Saturday (05.02.22).
He wrote: “Made me laugh today reading how much the singer in Pearl Jam hated @MotleyCrue. Now considering that they’re one of the most boring bands in history it’s kind of a compliment isn’t it? (sic)”
And in response to a fan who wrote that they “can’t stand” Pearl Jam, Nikki replied: “They can’t stand Pearl Jam. Little inside scoop?”
The 63-year-old musician insisted he wouldn’t let anyone get away with “dissing” his band.
He tweeted: “Your not allowed to diss my band and our 40 year history and not get a little smack back. All good. More focused on us playing stadiums right now. Moving on.”
And he slammed a commenter who branded him a “loser” for his response to Eddie, 57.
He wrote: “You’ll be fine. Remember there were zillions of brown haired bands for brown haired fans…..Go find them. You will know them by the bored look on their face.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson could release his second solo album before the end of 2022.
The 30-year-old singer – who shot to fame in One Direction – is currently touring in North America on his world tour but has also been hard at work on his follow-up to his acclaimed debut solo album, ‘Walls’, which was released in 2020.
It’s reported that Louis is hoping to release new music for fans in the coming months, but he doesn’t want to “rush things”.
A music insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Louis has been working really hard and the music sounds great. So far, about half to three-quarters of the album is done. Hopefully it will be out by the end of the year, but Louis is keen not to rush things for the sake of it.
“Fans will genuinely love what he’s come up with. It’s his best work yet.”
Louis previously admitted that some songs on his first album were “truer to [him] than others” and with album two he wants to ensure he’s “owned” everything he’s trying to say.
He explained: “I’m very, very excited. I had basically penciled down a plan before corona took over our lives. And now it’s kind of given me a little bit of time to really get into what I want to say and what I want things to sound like. Because, you know, I was really proud of my first record, but there were moments that I felt were truer to me than others. I think that there were some songs where I took slightly more risk and owned what I love, saying, ‘This is who I want to be’. So I want to take a leaf out of their book.”
The music star also previously revealed he’s been inspired by Red Hot Chili Peppers’ guitarist John Frusciante, but admitted he didn’t have the nerve to get in touch with him as he thinks he’s “too cool” to speak to him.
He said: “I grew up on their album ‘By the Way’. And during lockdown I’ve been knee deep in their stuff. I’ve watched every documentary, every video. And I find their lead guitarist John Frusciante just fascinating.”
Asked if he has spoke to the musician, he said: “I f****** wish.
“No, honestly, I think he’s too cool for that. He’s not into that kind of thing.”
Louis’ mammoth global jaunt is due to wrap in his hometown of Doncaster on April 23.
He’s set to play his first arena show as a solo artist at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on April 22.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton plans to make a rock album if she’s inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The 76-year-old country music legend is nominated for the first time alongside the likes of Eminem, Lionel Richie and Duran Duran.
Although Dolly has covered rock classics by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Bon Jovi, the ‘Jolene’ hitmaker never expected to receive the nod, but she revealed she has wanted to make a rock album for years and will do just if she earns her place at the prestigious Ohio museum.
Reacting to the nomination, she said: “I was absolutely floored when I heard that.
“I’ve never thought of myself as being rock and roll in any sense of the word, but I guess they judge it on the music and the influence certain songs have had … I guess I’ve had songs with other people in that realm, but I don’t know how they judge that.”
Dolly added to Billboard: “I’m not expecting that I’ll get in. But if I do, I’ll immediately, next year, have to put out a great rock and roll album, which I’ve wanted to do for years, like a Linda Ronstadt or Heart kind of thing. So this may have been just a God-wink for me to go ahead and do that. It’s just nice to be nominated.”
Beck, Carly Simon and A Tribe Called Quest are also nominated for entry this year.
Other nominees – who have been considered for induction before – include Kate Bush, Dionne Warwick, synth-pop pioneers Eurythmics, heavy metal band Judas Priest, late instrumentalist Fela Kuti, and ‘Killing in the Name’ rockers Rage Against the Machine.
The chosen inductees will be announced in May and honoured at a ceremony set to take place later in the year.

Since its inception in 1986, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has chosen a total of 351 music legends to be inducted, including Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, ABBA and The Beatles.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo’s new song, ‘If You Love Me’, was featured in a Google Pixel 6 Super Bowl commercial.
The ‘Truth Hurts’ hitmaker’s track was used in the promo aired during Sunday’s (13.02.22) Super Bowl LVI – which saw the Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 – and highlighted how camera technology has failed to represent darker skin tones.
The tech giant introduced its new “inclusive” Real Tone camera in the clip, which is soundtracked by the new Lizzo song.
Google said: “Historically, camera technology hasn’t accurately represented darker skin tones. As part of Google’s commitment to making images more equitable for all, we worked directly with a range of image experts celebrated for their beautiful and accurate imagery of people of colour to build our Google Pixel 6 with Real Tone, an inclusive camera that sees and highlights all people and the nuances of skin tones beautifully and authentically. Naturally, we then partnered with Lizzo, one of the realest and most talented artists, to empower the world to be truly seen.”
Sharing the ad on Instagram, Lizzo wrote: “Black is beautiful. And now thanks to my partners at @googlepixel, camera technology can celebrate and show all of the skin tones that make every single one of us beautiful. If you love me, you love all of me. My body. My skin. My story. #seenonpixel
“Honored to have an #ad during the Big Game today. (sic)”
Lizzo – whose last studio album was 2019’s ‘Cuz I Love You’ – previously hit back at trolls who sent her “fat-phobic and racist” abuse on social media in a heart-breaking video.
The ‘Juice’ singer called out the “marginalisation” of black women in the music industry.
She said in August 2021: “Black women have been in this industry and innovating it forever.
“It is unfortunate that we are the ones who do suffer from the marginalisation the most and the erasure the most.
“And I feel like if it weren’t for the internet, if it weren’t for social media, I could have been erased, you know what I mean?
“But I chose to be undeniable and I chose to be loud and I chose to be great, and I’m still here. It’s difficult.”
Lizzo again addressed the vile comments made by people online following the release of her and Cardi B’s new music video ‘Rumors’, and insisted “this s*** should not fly”.
She added: “I don’t mind critique about me, my music – I don’t even mind the fat comments.
“I just feel like it’s unfair, sometimes, the treatment that people like me receive…
“People are like, ‘Don’t let them see you with your head down, sis!’ My head is always up! Even when I’m upset and even when I’m crying, my head is up!
“But I know it’s my job as an artist to reflect at times, and this s*** should not fly. This shouldn’t be OK!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Ball and Alfie Boe have been announced for Hampton Court Palace Festival 2022.
The popular musical duo – also known as Ball and Boe – are set to perform at the historical landmark on June 24, as part of a series of major outdoor shows.
The pair will also be performing at Longleat in Wiltshire on June 28, before heading to Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire on July 4, and Chewton Glen in New Milton, Hampshire, on July 12.
Together, the 59-year-old theatre star and the 48-year-old tenor have sold more than 1.3 million albums in the UK, won two Classic BRIT Awards, and sold out two headline arena tours.
Kacey Musgraves, McFly and The Human League were recently confirmed for the Hampton Court Palace Festival.
The country-pop star, ‘Obviously’ hitmakers and synth-pop legends will take to the stage as part of a star-studded line-up at the summer concert series in Surrey this June, joining George Benson, Crowded House, Elbow and Jack Savoretti.
McFly will take to the historical landmark’s intimate auditorium at the Base Court, set against the background of Henry VIII’s magnificent Tudor Palace, on June 15.
Grammy-winner Kacey is confirmed for June 22, with the ‘Don’t You Want Me’ hitmakers performing the following day.
Elbow will play the open-air extravaganza on June 11, soul and jazz legend George plays June 16, Jack on June 17, and Crowded House on June 25.
