OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has dedicated his NME Music Moment of the Year Award to NHS staff and care workers.
The former Oasis frontman will be recognised with the prize at this year’s BandLab NME Awards in honour of the free gig he played for healthcare workers at London’s O2 Arena last summer.
He said: “I’d like to thank NME for the Music Moment Of The Year award and would like to dedicate it to all the NHS and care workers and all the people that give a s*** in general. LG x”
Liam will collect the prize at the NME Awards 2022 ceremony at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on March 2.
The ‘Everything’s Electric’ star was joined by Primal Scream for the show in August 2021 as they welcomed the return of live music while thanking NHS staff for everything they’ve done during the pandemic.
When the ‘Shockwave’ hitmaker originally announced the show – which was delayed several times due to health crisis – he wrote on social media: “It’s an honour to announce that I will be doing a gig for the NHS and careworkers at London’s TheO2 on October 29th. They do an incredible job, we are very lucky to have them. LG x (sic)”
NHS staff were able to pick up a maximum of two tickets – one for themselves, and one for a guest – on April 15, 2020, and tickets were only available to “NHS staff and NHS contract staff who work in NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom”.
The free show came after Liam previously claimed he wanted to reform Oasis alongside his brother Noel Gallagher for a charity concert to benefit the NHS once the pandemic is over.
Back in March 2020, he tweeted: “Listen seriously a lot of people think I’m a **** and I am a good looking **** but once this is put to bed we need to get oasis back for a 1 of gig rite for charity c’mon Noel we can then go back to our amazing solo careers c’mon you know LG x (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bastille frontman Dan Smith has been writing with Yungblud and Lewis Capaldi.
The ‘Pompeii’ hitmaker has been working with the two stars – and a host of new artists – on new material, including tracks for the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer’s highly anticipated second album.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I did a bunch of writing with Yungblud recently, we met for the first time at the Olympics and got on really well. I’ve also done stuff for a bunch of new artists which was fun.”
The writing with Lewis – which Dan has opened up about before – has been the highlight, and he loves getting to “hang out” with his pal.
He added: “I spent a few days doing some writing with Lewis. I know that he’s taking his time and wants to get it right.
“It was lovely to see him and he’s as f****** hilarious as ever – never turn down the chance to hang out with Lewis.”
Bastille – who worked with Riz Ahmed on spoken word track ‘Promises’, which features on their recent chart topping album ‘Give Me The Future’ – have made more of an effort to collaborate with other artists and give themselves other experiences and influences.
Dan said: “It was all about letting more people into our world. So I’ve met a lot of artists as a songwriter, which I really love because it’s such a different hat to wear.
“It’s so nice to go in a room with some interesting people, chat for a while and leave at the end of the day and that’s it.”
Meanwhile, Dan previously revealed he had been writing a track with Rihanna in mind, but he doesn’t think the ‘Diamond’ star will end up using it.
He said: “I imagine with that project, they heard and work on so much music and will just know when it’s right.
“There was a minute last year where I thought I’d done it. But I don’t think it’s happened.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lil Wayne will play his first UK show in 14 years at Strawberries Creem Festival.
The ‘Lollipop’ hitmaker is set for an exclusive performance at the summer festival – which takes place at Childerley Orchard in Cambridge between June 17 and 19 – alongside headliners Ella Mai, Mabel and Tems.
In a statement, co-founder Preye Crooks said: “This year, as we scale up to a full three days, we wanted to ensure our musical offering matched that level of ambition – as well as reflecting our incredibly diverse crowd.
“We have gone further than ever before to bring exceptional artists together, showing Strawberries Creem to be a major player on the weekend festival scene.
“As a team, we also wanted to shine a light on some amazing genres and artists that aren’t always celebrated in full at other festivals.
“We hope we have curated a truly representative and exciting line-up, one that offers an unrivalled experience to our festival goers – covering everything from D B and dance music, to reggae and R B.”
Lil Wayne will perform on the main stage, with the likes of Rema, Ghetts, Tion Wayne, Ms Banks, Enny, Sub Focus, Katy B, David Rodigan and more on the bill.
In December 2020, Wayne pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm – a .45 calibre gun and six rounds of ammunition – after authorities searched his private plane in December 2019.
However, former US President Donald Trump pardoned the ‘Lonely’ rapper on his last full day in office before he could be sentenced.
Despite this, as a convicted felon on a separate weapons charge, the rapper is banned from owning a firearm.
In 2011, Wayne’s UK tour had to be cancelled after his visa was cancelled over his convictions.
He later returned, and is now set for his first gig in the UK 14 years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Foxes has turned to boxing to get her “back into life” after lockdown.
The ‘Glorious’ hitmaker – whose real name is Louisa Allen – revealed she is happier than ever after leaving her record label to become an independent artist and enjoying life as a single woman.
She told the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column: “Since we got out of lockdown I’ve been getting back into life through boxing.
“It’s so great. It’s not a fancy gym, either, there’s real actual boxers there – they’ve been through stuff. That’s my new obsession.”
The 32-year-old star admitted she’s glad to be focused on herself rather than “relying on a guy”.
She explained: “I’m enjoying being on my own, and not relying on a guy, for the first time. I’ve realised what I need and what I don’t need.
“And I definitely need myself, so I have to look after that and be my own best friend – everything else can some second.”
Foxes admitted leaving her label was also a major positive for her, as she prioritises the music she wants to make rather than record sales.
She added: “I left my major label because I was unhappy. I was like, ‘This doesn’t feel quite right anymore’ and I packed up my things and left – one of the best things I did.
“It’s not about how many records you sell, it’s about the music you’re making.”
The singer recently claimed the modern music industry is a “huge social media game”, which she tends to stay away from as she “misses the mystery” that used to surround pop stars before the rise of the Internet.
She said: “I guess, like the artists that I love are kind of from a different era where there was so much mystery and you could make up your own mind about who they were or what they were doing.
“Nowadays, it is very much a huge social media game but I don’t tend to play with it, which might go to my advantage or disadvantage. I’m not sure, but I definitely miss the mystery.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna is expected to release a new album this year.
The 33-year-old star recently revealed she and A$AP Rocky are expecting their first child together, and she looks set to drop a surprise record dedicated to her fans in the coming months.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s happening. Rihanna will drop an album this year. She is getting ready to release this year.
“It is always something she had planned to do for her fans. She has heard their calls for her new tunes, and knows they have been waiting so patiently.
“She’s excited to bring them something new.”
Earlier this month, Rihanna reassured fans new music is coming, insisting becoming a parent won’t stop her from releasing her long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s ‘Anti’.
She said at the time: “Well, yes … You’re still going to get music from me.”
When jokingly asked if she will drop some lullabies, she quipped: “Oh my goodness, not a lullaby. My fans would kill me that they waited this long for a lullaby!”
In December, the ‘Talk That Talk’ singer promised new music is coming “soon, soon, soon”.
In an exchange with a paparazzi, who asked: “Any new music? Anything?”, she replied: “Soon, soon, soon.”
Rihanna previously promised her new album will be “worth the wait”, while she has teased that fans can expect a “completely different sound”.
The ‘Rude Boy’ hitmaker insisted she is “always” working on her music and despite fans’ pleas for her to share her latest material, she wants to wait until she’s completely satisfied.
She said: “I’m always working on new music. Just because I haven’t released an album in a few years doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on it.
“I’m not just going to put music out because people are craving it. I’m going to make it worth the wait – and it will be worth the wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West has said his upcoming album ‘Donda 2’will not be available to stream.
The 44-year-old rap star is set to release the follow up to his 2020 chart topper on Tuesday (22.02.2022) but it will not appear on the likes of Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, or YouTube and will instead only be featured on his own the Stem music device, which retails for $200.
Writing on Instagram, he said: “Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes.”
The ‘Stronger’ hitmaker went on to assert that it it is time to “free music” from an “oppressive system” as he urged fans to order the music device allows users to customise songs by splitting them into ‘stems.’
He added: “It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”
It comes as Kanye – who legally changed his name to Ye in 2021 – has been having a public spat with estranged wife Kim Kardashian, the latest of which saw him taking a swipe at Kim’s current boyfriend Pete Davidson.
Kanye – who has North, eight, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, two, with Kim – called ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Pete, 28, after he had performed a satirical sketch which took aim at the rapper.
He wrote: “HI SKETE YOU GOT ANYMORE MENTAL HEALTH JOKES FOR ME? (sic)”
In a follow-up post, Kanye also insisted his comments didn’t amount to
harassment.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sabrina Carpenter didn’t take the writing of hew new single “too seriously.”
The 22-year-old pop star released her new single ‘Fast Times’ on Friday (18.02.2022) – which she co-wrote with Julia Michaels, J.P. Saxe and John Ryan- and spoke of how it is about “letting life steer the wheel.”
She said: “We weren’t taking ourselves too seriously making it, which really reflects the energy of the song. [It’s] really about the feeling when you’re letting life steer the wheel and you think ‘Let me enjoy this now and I’ll process the emotional repercussions of this later.”
The ‘Why’ hitmaker – who entered the music industry as a teenager and is gearing up to release her fifth studio album – explained that maturing into her early 20s has made the record “a lot more personal” than her previous releases.
She told Rolling Stone: “[The song is] very indicative of my 20s thus far I think you’re a very different person at 18 than you are at 22, so I’d say expect it to feel a lot more personal. And a lot more storytelling.”
When it comes to the music video for her new single, Sabrina – who takes on the role of a villain-fighting runaway who is followed through the city in a helicopter -explained that she has taken inspiration from cult hit movies in order to reflect the song on screen.

OHMYGOSSIP — Josef Salvat started his music career after a health scare.
The 33-year-old singer had been studying to become a lawyer when he was diagnosed with cytomegalovirus – a condition which can lead to severe respiratory problems if untreated – and ended up in a coma as a result.
He said: “It was like glandular fever on steroids. I ended up in a coma because the viral load was big and I was really sick,’ he explained. I got to the hospital in the nick of time, and they pumped me full of stuff and I recovered – but they were like, “It’s touch-and-go.”
Josef – who made his debut with a cover of the Rihanna hit ‘Diamonds’ in 2015 and has gone on to release a string of studio albums – then revealed how he spent his time recuperating as an opportunity to build a career in music.
Speaking to The Metro’s Guilty Pleasures column, he added: “It was like this massive bell in my head: just go do music, use this time as a nursery for becoming a better songwriter.”
The ‘Modern Anxiety’ hitmaker released his third studio album ‘Islands’ on Friday (18.02.2022) and claimed that he has “taken risks” with the album in a way he hasn’t felt able to before.
He said: “‘It takes risks I haven’t had the confidence to take before”
Since launching his music career, Josef has enjoyed moderate success and gushed about his chat with Hollywood star Kate Winslet,46, who requested to meet him backstage after seeing him perform at a Lancôme event in 2017.

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit are going back to their classical roots.
The electronic music trio – which comprises Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson who started out in music with dance track ‘A+E’ back in 2012 – admitted that they “lost a bit” of their roots when they shifted away from classical music but are returning with an EP more true to their original style.
Cellist Grace said: “We like to make uplifting music and tender to gravitate towards dancier stuff but we are actually working on an EP of songs that aren’t dance music. When we got into pop we lost a bit of the classical side so it’s an eclectic mix of styles.
The 36-year-old musician – who is a founding member of the group and met the other members whilst a student at Cambridge University – explained that she and her bandmates felt a lot “freer” with the EP, which is due for release this year alongside their upcoming album.
Speaking to The Daily Star’s Wired column, she said: “It features other artists, a couple of American artists and then a couple of UK artists, we are really excited for it because it felt a lot freer than what we are working on for our next album, which also arrives later this year, if we can get our act together!”
The band are celebrating their 10th years since their debut in 2022 and Grace but quick to point out that the retreating to their original classical style was not part of any anniversary plans, insisting that it was more “natural” than that.
She said: “We didn’t deliberately do it for any anniversary, it naturally happened. Towards the end of last year, we made a remix of our last song ‘Drive’ , with some of our favourite UK rappers and that felt special because it was like going back to how we started which was to try to mix classical with house beats.”
The ‘Rockabye’ hitmakers released their latest single ‘Everything But You’ on Friday (18.02.2022) with AS7, which Grace described as “uplifting” but “sad.”
She said: “It’s uplifting but it kind of starts opposite, sad and about wanting to give up.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mimi Webb has teamed up with Lewis Capaldi’s team for her debut album.
The 21-year-old singer – who shot to fame when her debut single ‘Before I Go’ went viral on TikTok – is collaborating with the ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker’s team TMS to create her first studio album.
She said: “We’re starting to release singles slowly to grow a nice album. I’ve got crew in the UK and I’m building one out in LA. It’s good to gather my people. I’m working with Lewis Capaldi’s team, TMS.”
The ‘Good Without’ singer – who released her debut EP ‘Seven Shades of Heartbreak’ towards the end of 2021 – went on to reveal that she had attended the BRIT Awards after-party and is now eyeing up her own award after releasing her latest single ‘House on Fire.’
Speaking to the Daily Star, she added: “[‘House on Fire’] is super out there and a bit sassy. I waited for the right time until I got my EP out there and the other ballads. It’s nice to get a fun pop song out there.
I did the BRITs after party and had so much fun, I saw Tom Grennan and he’s a god friend of mine. I’m so driven and ready for my own BRIT, just to get a nomination would be incredible and fingers crossed for this year.”
In the meantime, Mimi will be taking to the stage for various festivals across the country, at one point teaming up with fellow pop star and ‘2002’ hitmaker Anne-Marie.
She said: “I’m doing lots [of festivals], including one with Anne-Marie which will be fun. I’ve done Reading and Leeds but not performed at many before. But we will be on the tour bus or hotel rather than camping. I’m not the best camper, I’m not gonna lie!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney is set to tour North America this year.
The former Beatle has announced the 13-date ‘Got Back’ arena run, which marks his first tour since his 2019 ‘FRESHEN UP’ jaunt.
McCartney will play Washington’s Spokane Arena on April 28, with his final stop scheduled for June 16 at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
In a statement, the ‘Let it Be’ hitmaker said: “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back.”
Meanwhile, there’s no chance of the 79-year-old music legend getting lonely on the road – as he talks to his guitars.
Macca loves to spend time with his instruments and he even worries that some of them might feel “lonely”.
Talking about one of his guitars, he shared: “I felt quite guilty in a minor way, so I went over and started playing – and then the song that came out was me talking directly to the guitar and talking about all the times it had helped me.”
McCartney also likened writing a song to sharing a secret with his guitar.
The Beatles star explains in the book ‘The Lyrics by Paul McCartney’: “There’s lots of stuff going on there.
“We always used to say that when you sit down with your guitar to write a song, you’re telling it your secrets, which then become a song for the world.
“But at that moment, when you’re alone, the guitar is your confidante. You cradle it.
“When you go up to a piano, though, it’s almost as if you’re pushing the piano away; they’re different actions completely.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tori Amos wrote her first song when she was just three years old.
The ‘Cornflake Girl’ hitmaker began playing the piano when she was a toddler and insisted her musical abilities have always been as natural to her as breathing.
She said: “No one taught me how to play the piano. It’s just something I was able to do from a young age.
“Somehow I sat at the keyboard and I was playing it, without knowing why or how.
“People would act surprised, like, ‘What’s happening?’ but when you’re a child and you can do something, you don’t think, ‘How did that happen?’
“I must have been two-and-a-half when I started and I never questioned it.
“I wrote my first song when I was three. I can’t recall what it was called or what it was about but writing and playing were like breathing to me.”
The 58-year-old singer – whose real name is Myra Ellen Amos – had planned change her name to Sammy J in honour of Heather Locklear’s ‘Dynasty’ character when she first started looking for a record deal, but is glad she listened to different advice.
She told Reader’s Digest magazine: “I was around 17 and it was just before I began sending demos out to record companies.
“Then a friend of mine brought along some guy she was dating to see me perform and he said, ‘You’re a Tori’. I was like, ‘Yeah, you’re right.’
“Then someone in the bar said that it was either a pine tree or a political party in England and I went, ‘I’m going with the pine tree.’
“So I was no longer Myra Amos, I was Tori Amos.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has insisted collaborating with Aitch “ain’t f****** happening”.
The ‘Rain’ rapper previously offered fellow Mancunian Liam £7 million to record a spoken-word piece for him but the ‘Everything’s Electric’ hitmaker isn’t interested in teaming up with any other musicians.
Asked about the offer, Liam told NME magazine: “Is that all? He ain’t got seven million f****** quid – he ain’t got f****** seven f****** quid, never mind f****** seven million. And it quickly went down to his watch and his trainers the other day. Listen, I don’t do that – that’s not for me, man. He seems like a nice lad, but I don’t wanna be on anyone’s album.”
And Liam – who is an avid Manchester City fan – admitted Aitch’s favourite football team was also a factor in him dismissing the idea.
He added: “He’s a United fan, so it ain’t f****** happening.
“When I read that, I was like, ‘No mate’. He don’t need me on his album anyway, but I do appreciate the fact that he thinks I’m cool, I guess. Even if he did have seven million pounds, I wouldn’t do it because I can’t be f****** bought.”
Aitch has made no secret of his dream to collaborate with the 49-year-old former Oasis singer.
He said previously: “I wanna do a song with Liam, man.”
And Liam doesn’t even have to record a full song with the rapper because he’d settle for just a clip of the ‘Wall of Glass’ singer delivering a quick one-liner.
When asked if his team has approached Liam, he said in a 2020 interview: “I don’t think so. We will have to do something. Even if it’s just a skit for my album, just him saying something, I just need something.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs has split from his record label.
The 37-year-old singer and RCA Records have parted ways after 12 years, just as Olly is working on his seventh album, his first since 2018’s ‘You Know I Know’.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Olly was with RCA for 12 years which is a really long time.
“It felt like it was time to move on and try something new.
“He had a discussion with them and ultimately decided he wanted to shake things up a bit.
“He has been in the studio working on music for months now and wants to get it out soon.”
And Olly has reportedly already been in contact with a number of other labels, who are keen to sign him up.
The insider added: “As things stand, loads of labels have expressed their interest and now it’s just a case of finding the best deal which will work for him.
“Olly is really excited about the next chapter.
“He has had some time out and is raring to get going again now with a new team behind him.”
Olly finished second on the ‘The X Factor’ in 2009 and has gone on to have a successful career in music and TV.
He is currently hosting ITV’s new show ‘Starstruck’, which features Sheridan Smith, Jason Manford, Beverly Knight and Adam Lambert.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa has parted ways with her management.
The 26-year-old star and her longtime management firm, Ben Mawson and Ed Millet’s TaP Management, have ended their partnership, according to Hits Daily Double.
The timing is surprising as Dua is only nine days into her ‘Future Nostalgia’ arena tour.
A source told Variety that Dua is not currently taking meetings with other management companies.
Meanwhile, Dua recently revealed that she has been working on her new album and already has a “vision” and a name for the record.
She said: “I’ve done a big chunk of writing: It’s starting to take shape; I’ve got a lot of it recorded.
“It has a vision. It has a name, I think – for now. It’s just been fun experimenting. I’m always going to make pop music, but it has its own unique sound, which is exciting and something that feels like a movement from ‘Future Nostalgia’.
“It’s still in baby form, so we’ll see as it progresses. In all honesty, it’s probably not what my fans want to hear, but I’m in no rush.”
Dua released her last album, ‘Future Nostalgia’, in 2020 but the award-winning star never knew that her song ‘Levitating’ would become such a big hit.
She confessed: “I can never preempt what song people are going to react to the best but ‘Levitating’ was the first song that helped dictate the rest of the album.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran and Bring Me The Horizon will release their heavy rock version of ‘Bad Habits’ on Friday (18.02.22).
The 30-year-old Grammy-winner and the ‘Teardrops’ rockers left the crowd gobsmacked when they took to the stage at the BRIT Awards last week to perform a raucous rendition of the pop song with added screamo vocals from frontman Oli Sykes.
And now, they’ve confirmed they’ve recorded the collaboration for fans.
Sharing their FaceTime call on social media, Ed told Oli: “That show was nuts,”, to which he replied: “I’ve never had so much adrenaline pumping through me.”
Oli, 35, continued: “There are so many people asking for like a studio version.”
Ed insisted: “We have to get one out.
He added: “We’ll get Jordan [Fish] and the lads on it and I’ll get the vocals in. Make sure it goes proper death growl at the end!”
The song is now available to pre-save on all major streaming platforms.
The ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker had already revealed he planned to record a heavy metal collaboration with BMTH.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We’re going to write a song together… Playing with Bring Me The Horizon was a dream.
“I got in touch with [singer Oli Sykes] and we were going to write together but then the pandemic happened, so we were in touch – I’ve been a fan for a long time.
“Oddly enough that’s the kind of music I grew up listening to and had a Kerrang subscription and I listened to it constantly.”
Ed joked his song would sound like a “wet fart” if he played it live as a solo track, and Bring Me The Horizon convinced him that their version would work well.
He quipped: “I actually said ‘Bad Habits’ would be a bit of a wet fart if I was just going up there and playing it normally.
“The song is EDM and they’ve taken it and make it a whole new thing. I was just like, you know what, these guitars are going to be great.
“It was a week’s turnaround – we emailed each other two weeks ago, recorded it a week ago and rehearsed it three days ago.”
Ed has been open to the idea of taking on a heavier style one day, after growing up listening to the likes of Cradle of Filth and Slipknot.
Last year, Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth fame revealed he had been in touch with Ed after a social media exchange, and would love for them to record a song together for charity.
He said: “I’ve actually been emailing with him. He actually touched base with me. I’ve been invited up to his place.
“Well, he said he could come down to mine, but I pointed out to him that I don’t own my own bar or village, and it’d be better if I went there.
“He said he’d do anything. Quite literally. He said he’s a massive fan. He seems like a genuinely very nice guy actually.”
