OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Grohl wanted Foo Fighters to stage a bitter breakup before announcing a ‘Reunion Tour’ two weeks later.
The ‘Best of You’ rocker admitted he had a “funny plan” to promote one of their future albums which would have seen all the band members – including Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee – each write a book insulting the other musicians.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Dave said: “I had a ridiculous idea a few years ago that before the release of one of our records we would write a biography in which we would each talk s*** about the other members.
“They’d all come out the same day and then we’d have a press conference saying that after reading each other’s books we’d decided we all hated each other and were breaking up.
“And then the idea was a couple of weeks later we’d announce ‘The Reunion Tour’ just for a joke. We didn’t do it, but I thought it was a funny plan.”
Meanwhile, frontman Dave has weighed in on Coldplay’s plans to only make two more albums, but suggested no band should ever announce plans to stop.
He explained: “I love it as much now after 26 years as I always have done.
“It’s amazing that we’ve never come close to quitting – but I’ve got one piece of advice, a lesson for every band in the world: Don’t say you’re going to break up.
“If you’re going to break up, just break up. And if you break up – stay broken up.”
Thankfully for fans of the band – who are releasing a horror movie ‘Studio 666’ this month – there are still plans for more albums and tours.
Dave added: “It’s back to music for us next, albums and touring. This was a great project and we loved it, but records and shows are what we’re all about.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A notebook containing Sir Paul McCartney’s handwritten lyrics for ‘Hey Jude’ has been donated to a museum by Davinia Taylor.
The former ‘Hollyoaks’ star was given the special pad – which belonged to The Beatles’ former bodyguard Mal Evans – for her 21st birthday by her dad Alan Murphy.
She explained: “Sotheby’s had an auction, dad was at home, a few bottles of wine in and started bidding against an American.
“He won. He said, ‘It’s not going to America, it’s staying in Liverpool.”
She revealed her millionaire father paid “something crazy like £100,000” for the notebook, which also contains doodles and poetry by all four band memebrs, including John Lennon, George Harrison and Sir Ringo Starr.
It also contains snippets of lyrics from ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ and other tracks.
Now, the pad – which was compiled from 1967 to 1968 – is on display at The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool.
Actress Davinia admitted she was “over the moon” to have donated the item, and the museum has insured it for £1 million.
Meanwhile, 79-year-old legend Paul has compared writing a song to sharing a secret with his guitar.
In the book ‘The Lyrics by Paul McCartney’, he explained: “There’s lots of stuff going on there.
“We always used to say that when you sit down with your guitar to write a song, you’re telling it your secrets, which then become a song for the world.
“But at that moment, when you’re alone, the guitar is your confidante. You cradle it.
“When you go up to a piano, though, it’s almost as if you’re pushing the piano away; they’re different actions completely.”
And the ‘Let It Be’ hitmaker recently announced plans to tour North America as he revealed the 13-date ‘Got Back’ arena tour from April 28 to June 16.
He said in a statement: “I said at the end of the last tour that I’d see you next time. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Who, Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and more are set to play Teenage Cancer Trust shows.
The ‘My Generation’ group’s annual fundraising concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall are returning in 2022, following a two-year hiatus owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Frontman Roger Daltrey, 77, said: “Live music has been hit hard by the pandemic and it has been particularly frustrating for me that we haven’t been able to get artists on stage to raise money for this vitally important cause.
“But we haven’t given up. The Who will be back on stage this year at the hall alongside some wonderful talent. After the last two unbelievably difficult years, young people with cancer deserve everything we can do for them.”
The legendary rock band will play an acoustic set at the historical venue on March 25.
Don Broco – who recently claimed their first number one album in the UK with ‘Amazing Things’ – will play on March 21.
‘Fleabag’ rocker Yungblud has been confirmed for March 23.
Madness plays March 24, former Oasis frontman Liam on March 26, and Ed will close the series on March 27.
The 2020 event would have marked the 20th anniversary of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall.
However, a national lockdown prevented the concerts from going ahead, while the 2021 series was also postponed amid the global health crisis.
Over the years, the likes of Oasis, Sir Paul McCartney, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Muse have played the charity gig.
Tickets go on sale Friday (25.02.22) at 9am.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue is hesitant to tour amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 53-year-old pop icon admitted that while the pandemic had presented performers with new opportunities, the live sector has been “hit hard” by the health crisis.
She said: “On one hand, the pandemic has opened up new worlds of possibility wherein we can create almost anywhere and deliver music to the world. But on the other hand, the live sector has been hit hard and this is just so challenging and difficult for venues, touring crew and everyone associated.”
The legendary songstress – who promoted her chart-topping album ‘DISCO’ in 2020 with a livestream concert and also appeared in a virtual show with Dua Lipa – went on to explain that there is a “degree of hesitancy” when it comes to staging an in-person concert tour but vowed to “stay patient.”
Speaking to The Hindustan Times, she explained: “There is a degree of hesitancy for sure. We all want it to work, so the only option right now is to navigate this new world as best as we can. Who knows how this will pan out in the future. I have really missed being able to tour my last album [DISCO: Guest List Edition], but for now I’ll have to stay patient.”
The ‘Real Groove’ hitmaker – who made history in 2020 as she became the first woman to release a chart-topping album in five different decades – then explained that while she has always been “appreciative” of the connection she shares with her audiences, the pandemic has brought a “new dimension” to it.
She added: “I’ve always been appreciative of being able to create and connect with people and audiences, but this [pandemic scenario] brought a new dimension to it. I know my collaborators felt the same. Yes, we were doing remote sessions from our homes, but we would talk about how lucky we felt to be able to work.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Carrie Hope Fletcher is to embark on her first concert tour.
The 29-year-old singer and actress – who is known for appearing in West End shows such as ‘Heathers’ and ‘Les Misérables’ and is currently starring in the title role of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s ‘Cinderella’ – will travel across the country later this year with ‘An Open Book’, performing numbers from musicals and discussing career so far.
She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on my first ever UK tour. This is something I have wanted to do for some time and next year presents the perfect opportunity.”
The YouTube star – who is the younger sister of McFly singer Tom Fletcher, 36, – added that while she is “fortunate enough” to have performed in London, she feels there is something “very special” about theatres around the country.
She told WhatsOnStage: “”I absolutely adore being on stage and am fortunate to have performed across the West End and overseas, but there’s something very special about theatres around the UK so I can’t wait to get out on the road and visit these absolutely fantastic and beautiful venues.”
The tour is set to open on 18th May at Bradford’s St George’s Hall, before going on to Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre (21st May), Norwich Theatre Royal (22nd May), the London Palladium (25 May), Llandudno’s Venue Cymru (27th May), The Lowry in Salford (28th May), Birmingham Symphony Hall (29th May), Sheffield City Hall (31st May), Nottingham Royal Concert Hall (2nd June), Newcastle O2 City Hall (3rd June) and Edinburgh Festival Theatre (4th June).
Producer Jamie Lambert, of Lambert Jackson, said: “‘Carrie Hope Fletcher – An Open Book’ presents an opportunity to take one of the West End’s most celebrated and successful leading stars to theatres across the UK.
“Not only will audiences be wowed by the stunning voice of Carrie, they will also get an insight into her incredible career and that is not to be missed.”

The 21-year-old popstar posted a cover of Sam’s song ‘I’m Not the Only One’ online and was amazed that the award-winning star sent her a message in response.
She said: “Sam messaged me. They were really excited, and so sweet. It was incredible. I was freaking out because couldn’t believe they took the time to write to me. I’d love to collaborate with them.”
The ‘House on Fire singer – who shot to fame when her debut single ‘Before I Go’ went viral on TikTok – also explained that she felt “a sort of objection” from those in the industry over becoming an artist through social media.
She told The Metro’s Guilty Pleasures column: “There was definitely some sort of- a bit of – objection from some people. I think it was a worry, this “scary thing”… everyone freaked and was figuring out how best to adjust to this new way of becoming an artist.
It was very untraditional but me and my team took it by the horns and just went for it.It’s quite interesting now when I speak to people because they’re buzzing about TikTok, whereas before they were all nervous.”
Mimi will be taking to the stage for various festivals across the country throughout 2022, and at one point will team up with fellow pop star and ‘2002’ hitmaker Anne-Marie.

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C has told fans to “ask Geri” about a Spice Girls reunion.
The 48-year-old popstar – who shot to fame in the iconic 1990s pop band alongside Geri Horner, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham – was playing a solo concert in London when a fan asked about the rumours that the girls will reunite for the Queen’s Jubilee later this year.
She said: “You’re going to need to ask Geri about that one. We have not ­discussed it yet.”
It comes just days after it was reported that the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers had been asked to perform at an upcoming gig later this year to mark the monarch’s 70 years on the throne.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “BBC bosses are determined to put on a show to remember and what band is more iconic than the Spice Girls?
“The invitation has been made and it’s now in the hands of the girls. It’s no secret they regret turning down a similar opportunity for the Diamond Jubilee and they all have a deep respect for the Royal Family
and the Queen.”
The ‘Say You’ll Be There’ singers formed in 1994 and went on to become the best-selling girl group of all time, but Geri suddenly left the band in 1998 and the remaining members split up in 2000.
All five members reunited for a string of arena shows in 2007 and played 13 stadiums across the UK in 2019, with the exception of Victoria Beckham, who declined to take part in a second reunion.
The last time all five members of the Spice Girls performed together was
at the London Olympics in 2012.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay has announced his first UK tour in three years.
The 31-year-old guitarist last ventured around the country back in 2019 and took to Instagram to announce his ‘Give Me the Reason’ tour to support his upcoming third album.
He wrote: “Hello to all my UK folks. Very excited to tell you I’m going to be going out on tour with my band again, for the first time in almost THREE years!
There’s going to be lots of new songs and for a VERY limited time you will be able to get early access to tickets if you pre-order my new album (new album!) The date and title of it are going to be announced very soon.”
The ‘Hold Back the River’ singer – who has previously served as an opening act for the likes of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift – added that he “cannot wait” to be back on stage performing for his fans agian.
He wrote: “But, you only have until 4pm Tuesday 22nd Feb to pre-order so go check out link in bio more information.
I can’t wait to see you all on tour again soon.”
The tour will take place across April and May 2022, starting in Oxford before wrapping up a few weeks later in Sheffield, with an extra one-off date as a Live After Racing show at Worcester Racecourse.

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlotte Church wants to make a new album.
The 35-year-old soprano shot to fame as a child with a string of multi-million selling records and now wants to make an album that incorporates “many different styles”, but admitted that it would be quite expensive.
She said: ” I would definitely love somebody to give me money to make an amazing album. That would be great because the album I want to make is going to be traversing many different styles and I need an orchestra, which is expensive.”
However, the ‘Voice of an Angel’ songstress – who was the runner up on the 2022 series of ‘The Masked Singer’ – went on to explain that she has “mellowed” in terms of her music career and doesn’t feel like she has “anything to prove.”
She said: ” But, to be honest, I’m mellow now. I’ve been doing this since I was 12 so I don’t feel like I’ve got anything to prove. I’m not super hungry or ambitious. I just muddle along like the little Pisces fish I am and see where the river takes me really.
Charlotte – who was was previously engaged to rugby star Gavin Henson and has children Ruby, 14, and Dexter, 13, with him – also claimed that despite her wishes for a career comeback her “main job” in life will always be as a mother.
She told OK! Magazine: “My main job in life is as a mother, as long as [work] doesn’t take me away from my beautiful babies too much.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West has said that songwriters have been “hurt” by streaming services.
The 44-year-old rap star – who decided to release his new album ‘Donda 2’ exclusively on the Stem player device – claimed he is now the “leading innovator” in music after walking away from services such as Apple Music and Spotify.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, he wrote: “I walked away from Apple right after having the most number 1’s in Apple history. Song Writers have been really hurt by streaming platforms. Some say I’m the only one who can make this change. So as the leading innovator in music of the past 20 years. I’m putting my own work on the line to change it. I’ve already won by not being afraid to move!
Now we’re winning because there are true supporters that have invested their hard earned money in my vision of freedom!”
The ‘Stronger’ rapper – who has four children with ex Kim Kardashian and legally changed his name to Ye in 2021 – announced his decision to release ‘Donda 2’ only on the £150 device because of how little artists earn in royalties from streaming platforms.
He said: “Donda 2 will only be available on my own platform, the Stem Player. Not on Apple Amazon Spotify or YouTube. Today artists get just 12% of the money the industry makes.”
The ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ hitmaker went on to assert that it is time to “free music” from an “oppressive system” as he urged fans to order the music device allows users to customise songs by splitting them into ‘stems.’
He added: “It’s time to free music from this oppressive system. It’s time to take control and build our own.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran will release their new duet, ‘Bam Bam’, next month.
The ‘Don’t Go Yet’ hitmaker and the ‘Castle on the Hill’ hitmaker – who previously teamed up on ‘South of the Border’ from Ed’s 2019 record ‘No.6 Collaborations Project’ – have joined forces once again.
Camila shared the artwork for ‘Bam Bam’, which is released on March 4, on Instagram and announced: “Bam Bam. March 4th with @teddysphotos, one of my favorite people and artists ever. Also my bday is the day before so triple win. (sic)”
The 31-year-old pop megastar had already revealed he and Camila had a new collaboration on the way.
In December, Ed was asked if the 24-year-old star features on his single ‘The Joker and the Queen’, to which he replied: “No, but actually we have done a song together that is going to come out next year.”
It was actually Taylor Swift who featured on the remix of the song from his LP ‘=’.
Camila previously revealed Ed and Taylor are her songwriting “heroes”.
She said: “I’ve been lucky to have people at different times show me kindness. When I was like 16, 17, and I was still in Fifth Harmony, I fell in love with songwriting.
“I remember approaching Taylor Swift and being like, ‘Hey, what do you do when you’re in a writing slump?’ or whatever, asking her for advice, and she showed me a lot of kindness. Ed Sheeran too.
“These were my songwriting heroes, so I was stoked that they were even talking to me.”
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker is preparing for the release of her third studio, ‘Familia’, which is due out this year.
Camila said of the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Romance’: “I want it to be that kind of family affair selfishly, because it would make me happy.
It would make my life better and that’s what I want, so that’s really what I was trying to manifest with this whole album.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slash has revealed Guns N’ Roses are aiming to release new songs this summer.
The ‘Patience’ rockers released two tracks, ‘Absurd’ and ‘Hard Skool’, both reworked outtakes from 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’ in 2021.
The notorious record was delayed for years and held up by legal hassles, while Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum quit the group, and only frontman Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed remained.
Speaking to Consequence of Sound about when fans can expect new music, Slash teased: “There is new material coming — everybody’s always asking.
“I would imagine that there will be one or two songs that come out around the time that we hit the road in June.”
The heavy rock band reunited with original members Slash and Duff for the 2016 ‘Not in This Lifetime… Tour’.
The ‘Paradise City’ hitmakers will be heading to Europe in June, before heading to Australia and New Zealand.
Guns put all the “years of negativity” behind them and are having fun touring again.
Slash added: “It’s been great. We got back together and it was really sort of like one of those huge question marks, and it was only to do the Coachella festivals, really. And it just snowballed into this tour that’s really been sort of going ever since then.
“But we’ve had a blast doing it, and I’m really happy that finally after all those years of negativity and whatnot, that we got past all that, and managed to get together and go out and play.”
In October, Slash admitted he and his bandmates hadn’t penned any new material since reuniting.
The axe-slayer said: “As far as new Guns is concerned, we haven’t even gotten to that point of really in earnest sitting down and writing.
“We’ve been doing a lot of material that’s been sort of sitting around for a while. So that will be a whole focused endeavour unto itself.”
Axl, Slash and Duff’s last studio album as Guns was 1993’s ‘The Spaghetti Incident?’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher says his estranged brother Noel is “welcome” to attend his Knebworth gigs.
The former Oasis frontman is set to mark 25 years since the Britpop legends’ record-breaking gigs at the Hertfordshire venue with two sold-out solo gigs there on June 3 and June 4.
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers played to a record 250,000 fans at Knebworth across two days in August 1996.
And while it’s unlikely that his rival sibling and the group’s ex-guitarist will be in attendance, since the pair have been at loggerheads ever since Oasis split following a backstage brawl between the pair at their final gig in Paris in 2009, the 49-year-old rocker has invited him.
According to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, Liam said: “He can come if he wants, but I think he’s doing his own big shows around the same time.
“They’re not as big as mine! He’ll be somewhere. He’s welcome if he wants.”
The ‘Paper Crown’ singer – who releases his third solo album ‘C’mon You Know’ on May 27 – added: “These gigs will be special because when you get to play Knebworth, they are special moments because the people bring it.”
Noel’s High Flying Birds are playing In It Together Festival in Wales on Liam’s second night at Knebworth on June 4.
Fans had speculated that Oasis could reunite at Knebworth, and the director of the ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996’ documentary believes the band will get back together eventually.
Jake Scott – who worked with the band on the 2021 anniversary film – believes Noel, 54, and Liam will reunite the ‘Some Might Say’ band the future.
He said recently: “Yeah. I’d love to think so. It’d be lovely. Oh God it’d be great wouldn’t it? There’s so much studio manipulation in music now. Just a solid rock n roll band would be an amazing thing to see again.”
Speaking about the band’s iconic Knebworth gigs, the filmmaker added: “My sense of Knebworth was to be there was very special. It wasn’t just one of those gigs, it was one of those special moments.
“You’ve been to gigs but there are only a couple of gigs in one’s life you’ve really had that moment where you’ve gone, ‘Oh wow, I’m seeing something important here’. I get a very strong sense that Knebworth did that for a lot of people. There’s a sense of unity and dare I say it, love.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Martin Kemp couldn’t buy records after Spandau Ballet’s split – because it “made him feel physically sick”.
The ‘Gold’ group – which was originally comprised of Tony Hadley, Steve Norman, John Keeble and brothers Martin and Gary Kemp – acrimoniously went their separate ways in 1990.
The new wave legends – who formed in 1979 – made a comeback in 2009 with a world tour, before parting ways again in 2019.
Martin told Radio Times magazine: “When Spandau Ballet split up in 1990, I had about eight years when I wouldn’t even buy a record because it made me feel physically sick.
“Being in Spandau was just one argument after the other. We’d go from arguing to being best friends to arguing. It’s been a trial the past few years.”
Martin has previously insisted he has “no beef” with his Spandau Ballet bandmates – but doesn’t see them reuniting again.
The former ‘EastEnders’ star admitted that while it wouldn’t take anything for him to get in a room with his ex-bandmates – who have fallen out countless times over the years – he’s not keen on the idea of touring the world again.
He said in 2020: “We are a family that goes through stuff. We have our arguments and re-formed and then had more arguments.
Will we get back together? It’s a tough one because we’re at an age when I’d question if I’d enjoy a world tour again.
“I’m not sure I would want that back in my life. So looking back on the band with this album has been lovely.”
Ex-frontman Tony’s relationship with his bandmates hasn’t been plain sailing.
In 1999, Tony, drummer John and sax player Steve were embroiled in a lawsuit over royalties with chief songwriter Gary, but they failed in their efforts.
Despite the lawsuit and arguments, Martin has insisted he personally doesn’t have a bad word to say about any member of the ‘True’ band.
Asked if a reunion is possible, he added: “I have no beef with anyone in the band. I never had. I understand people want to see us together and I have a real guilt with that.
If it’s to be, it will be. There are five people who have to say ‘yes’ at the same time, not just me.”
Tony quit in 2017, and despite calls from Gary to rejoin the band, he has vowed never to return.
In 2018, West End star Ross William Wild replaced Tony, before deciding to quit 11 months later.
However, Martin admitted it didn’t feel like Spandau Ballet.
He said: “It was an experiment that we all had a lot of fun doing but, for me personally, it wasn’t Spandau. But we tried it.
“It didn’t work and we had to move on. And I don’t feel guilty about Ross as he had a great time doing it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert believes Adele made the right decision to postpone her Las Vegas residency.
The ‘I Drink Wine’ singer faced a backlash when she announced last month she was pulling her US shows because of production issues, just days before the first concert was due to take place, but the 40-year-old star insisted Adele made the right move because fans “deserve better” than an unfinished show.
Describing Adele’s tearful Instagram video announcement “heart-wrenching”, he told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Adele is so honest and vulnerable, so the video was hard to watch.
“Any artist who has toured understands that sometimes certain things are out of your control.
“She accidentally got into a situation where the show just wasn’t ready.”
Adam added: “I feel, as I’m sure Adele does, that the fans and their experience is what the show is for.
“If the artist is not comfortable with what they are putting out on stage then that affects what the audience gets as well.
“Especially as a solo artist, because it’s all about that person.
“It has to be right, or else it is not going to be what the audience deserves. I’m sure she is doing her best to get it back on track, and everyone will see a great show.”
While Caesar’s Palace’s Colosseum venue is now booked out for the immediate future with concerts from Keith Urban, Sir Rod Stewart and Sting, they are hoping to bring Adele’s residency to the stage this summer, where there is a gap.
Sting plays his last show on 18 June and Rod returns for a second block on 23 September, with Adele’s only current commitment being two British Summer Time gigs at London’s Hyde Park on 1 and 2 July, so it is viewed as the most likely time for her rearranged shows to take place.
A source said: “That is the scheduling that would make the most sense.
“Talks are ongoing at the moment, and the hope is that Adele’s rearranged dates will be agreed very soon.
“She has made it clear that next year is not an option, and everyone is keen to lock the dates in.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave had only been learning how to play guitar “four months” before his epic solo with a flamethrowing guitar at the BRITs.
The guitar tech behind the pyro instrument, Richard ‘Churd’ Prat, has revealed the Grime star’s team insisted on the star being able to play the instrument and not mime the performance, which the pyro company had said was impossible.
However, they managed to work around the “challenge” and make it playable.
Speaking to Guitar.com, Richard – who is a guitar tech for Biffy Clyro – said: “We’ve had lot’s of pyro at lots of shows, but I’d never done flaming guitars before now. I was booked to do the BRITs with Dave anyway, just looking after the band. And then down the grapevine it transpired that Dave had been learning the guitar – he’d only been playing for four months, but he’d been with his guitar teacher every single day, just learning that solo, basically, along with all the tricks of the trade.
“So the show designer, his name is Bronski [from the production duo Tawbox], who came up with the idea of the flamethrower guitars, it was all his concept.
“But the pyro company I was working with told us you can either have the pyro or you can have the solo. They basically told us we’d have to mime it, they said: ‘there’s no way this will be playable.’ But then the people from Dave’s side were saying: ‘it absolutely has to be playable.’ So that was the challenge.”
The 23-year-old rapper closed out the BRIT Awards with the spectacular rendition of ‘In the Fire’ and stunned the crowd and viewers at home with his face-melting solo.
