OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton thinks talent is only one-third of what it takes to become a successful musician.
The 76-year-old icon was asked on the ‘Headliners’ podcast to divide “talent, fearlessness, and shamelessness” into percentages of how much a performer needs to achieve success.
Dolly explained: “I’m going to have to say a third, a third, a third … You gotta have a backbone. You gotta keep your heart, you gotta keep your soul.
“I’ve often said I’ve never hardened my heart – I just try to toughen the muscles around it. You have to learn to be strong without becoming harsh or hard. I try to never let anybody or anything get to my true heart or get to my true soul.”
The ‘Jolene’ singer has made many sacrifices in order to achieve fame and success. But Dolly has always refused to compromise her morals and values.
The chart-topping star said: “I’ve sacrificed a great deal, and I was always willing to do that, but I only sacrificed to a point. I would never – I have never compromised to the degree that I lost my integrity, my beliefs, my faith, any of that … I would walk away, I’d never go past that point.”
Dolly also thinks it’s important to never fear failure.
She confessed: “There’s always a certain amount of doubt, a certain amount of fear, but you have to just go ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’ You’re just gonna fail, you’re not gonna die.
“I always think, ‘What if I don’t make it? What if I didn’t make it?’ Well, I’d just do something else that I love. I’d be a beautician or I’d be a missionary or I’d do something else.”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Byrne thinks Spotify is making artists “uncomfortable .”
The 69-year-old singer – who removed most of his back catalogue from the streaming giant back in 2013 – claimed that the platform publishing “questionable or controversial content” and “misinformation” has left stars feeling “uncomfortable” but noted that only names as big as Taylor Swift or Drake are powerful enough to take action.
He said: “There’s been all these things about platforms having … let’s say questionable or controversial content [and] putting out misinformation or outright lies or … not exactly hate speech, but things that are making a lot of artists uncomfortable. And it’s pretty tough to do anything to help ameliorate that unless you’re a Drake or Taylor Swift, or those kinds of artists. It’s pretty hard for the rest of us to have influence.”
The former Talking Heads star then mentioned the time’ Love Story’ hitmaker Taylor, 32, withheld her album from Apple Music over their decision to not pay artists for the three month and convinced the streaming platform to reverse their policy but noted that only a “handful” of stars are “doing really well” out of putting the music on Spotify, which is thought to pay artists an average of $0.004 per stream.
He told The Guardian newspaper: “A handful of mega, mega artists are doing really well, and many of the others – especially emerging artists – are having a tough time with it. There was definitely a period where I thought, “Oh, this is going to be tough for a lot of artists”, especially with Spotify’s “freemium” layer.
I watched as Taylor Swift went to Apple and said, “You can’t do this; you can’t have a freemium layer that will last forever.” And she – I mean, bless her heart – she managed to get them to [change their policy]. Which I think was brave for her and good for a lot of the rest of us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — KT Tunstall says seeing her dead father in the funeral home was like waking up from The Matrix.
The ‘Suddenly I See’ hitmaker’s adoptive father David died in August 2012, and she admitted the tragic news also motivated her to regain control of her life, as she compared it to characters in the sci-fi classic waking up from the simulated world they lived in.
Speaking on her ‘Wake Up Break Up’ episode of the ‘Hear Her Voice’ podcast, she said: “It was somewhat of a gift for me because I just felt like I woke up. Honestly, it was like The Matrix. It was like I just woke up in the slime and unplugged the tube and just went, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got this all wrong.’
“I think losing my dad…you’re just like, right, you’ve got one go at this and it’s going to end. I’ve got to get this right.
“Literally 48 hours after my dad’s funeral. I was like, ‘I’m in the wrong relationship, this is not where I’m spending my life’. I split up with my ex. I went through a pretty horrible divorce and sold everything I owned and moved continents.”
KT felt like she had “followed the wrong path”, and losing her father was a huge part of her growth.
She explained: “At the end of the day I married the wrong person and I had followed the wrong path. My wish to be a musician and have that life was one of real unconventionality. I wanted a bohemian life. I wanted a creative, unexpected life, and somehow I managed to end up in what felt like a nine to five where I was just doing the same thing all the time.
“I was just on tour and it was really repetitive and my dad passed away. He had Parkinson’s, but he ended up passing away a bit unexpectedly. It was just a total epiphany.
“I just had never seen a dead body. I went to visit him in the funeral home. It was the most positive experience I can imagine of losing a parent because we’d said all we need to [say]. There was a lot of love. He was sick and it was his time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — 5 Seconds of Summer have recorded their “most personal album” to date.
The ‘Complete Mess’ rockers – who first rose to fame after supporting One Direction on tour in 2013 – have returned with their new single and while there is more material set to drop, they aren’t sure when it will be released.
Michael Clifford told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “We have a really, really, really long album that we haven’t finalised, that we haven’t named, that we haven’t set a date.
“It’s definitely there, it’s in a dropbox and if someone finds the link we’re totally f***** but it definitely exists in the universe.
“It’s the most personal album we have ever made.”
Guitarist Michael – who completed the band with frontman Luke Hemmings, bassist Calum Hood and drummer Ashton Irwin – insisted they have been revitalised and feel like they were back at the start of their career a decade ago.
He said: “This could be our first album again, that’s how special this process has been.
“We have pushed forward with this incredible music and taken risks and releasing ‘Complete Mess’ first is scary because it’s not a traditional pop song.
“We believe in each other and our songwriting abilities and [now we] are ready to take on the world again.”
The group feel like they have been helped by the pandemic as it gave them for “self-reflection” after a hectic decade.
Luke explained: “This is a very different experience for us, the last eight years prior was very… in a new city each day, very on the go.
“To completely juxtapose that with being able to stay in the same place and stay at home and be comfortable, we had a lot of fun and it really comes across in the music.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher thinks rock music is too middle class to find another Oasis.
The ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmaker and his brother Liam grew up in Burnage, Manchester and he has insisted “working class kids” would struggle to get into music nowadays because of the costs involved in starting a band.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Where are the 14 year olds in bands now?
“Working class kids can’t afford to do it now, because guitars are expensive, there’s no rehearsal rooms. They’ve all been turned into wine bars and flats.
“There’s lots of singer songwriters, loads of middle class bands… wearing guitars as oppose to playing them. But four or five guys from a council estate can’t afford guitars.”
Meanwhile, Noel previously revealed his pride that his boy Sonny, 11, is following in his musical footsteps.
Last summer, he was overjoyed when his son got up on stage and played T.Rex’s classic track ’20th Century Boy’ for a school concert.
He said at the time: “I got a little knot in my stomach because I was like, ‘He’s only 10’, you know what I mean? He’s not been playing that long, he’s not even been interested in it that long.
“And there was a little thing, like a projector thing of who it was and what they were going to play, and it came up ’20th Century Boy’ by T.Rex, and I was like, ‘Get in there son!’ and he had it.
“He had it down. He had the riff. He played a blinder and even did a little [motions] at the end. And I’ve never been so proud of anything or anyone in my life. It was great, it was amazing.”
And Noel revealed his son is “doing good on the guitar”, and can be heard playing it at home “every night”.
He added: “When I go up there to say goodnight to him I say, ‘What you playing, mate?’
“He showed me, and I genuinely did not know how to play this riff, Back In Black, which is a famous riff.
“He’s a rocker, he likes AC/DC and Queen, it’s f-ing great. I hope he hasn’t started too early so that when he gets to 18 he’s bored of it. He’s my little protégé.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has unveiled the track-listing for her upcoming album ‘CRASH’.
The 29-year-old pop star’s follow-up to 2020’s ‘How I’m Feeling Now’, which is released next week, will feature her Rina Sawayama collaboration ‘Beg For You’ and ‘New Shapes’ with Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek.
Charli recently described her upcoming record as “hyper-sexualised” and explained how she wanted to “challenge” herself with the choreography in the promo for the track ‘Baby’.
She said: “It’s probably the most sexy song I’ve ever made. It’s about sex and sexuality and having good sex and just feeling yourself essentially. I know that that’s the tone. I knew that that was the tone I wanted to carry across for the entire record. This kind of hyper-sexualised, feminine power zone was where I was feeling myself going, and ‘Baby’ was the genesis of this.
“Also I think that’s probably why I wanted to challenge myself on the choreo for this song, which was really, really tough and I have so much respect for dancers, professional dancers, anyone who communicates emotion through dance. It is so hard and challenging, but so rewarding.”
Charli also recently addressed critics of her latest singles and admitted she considered quitting music as her mental health has declined in recent months, prompting her to take a step back from social media because she was struggling to handle criticism of her new music.
She said: “I’ve been feeling quite low throughout 2022 to be honest. I feel like my mental health has really taken a toll, and for some reason I just couldn’t really handle the negative comments that I was reading, particularly about music and my latest song ‘Beg For You’, which was actually beginning to do quite well commercially.
“I suppose I felt a little bit hurt when I heard that people didn’t really like the song. I think at a time when I was already feeling quite low, that kind of rhetoric honestly just really hurt my feelings.”
The ‘Baby’ singer knows she needs to handle “negativity and criticism” because she’s in the public eye but insisted that doesn’t mean she can cope with people constantly barraging her with unkind comments.
She added: “There is this misconception that people in the public eye are able to take any shit that you throw at them. Yes, we do have to learn how to handle negativity and criticism because it comes with the territory but at the same time, everyone’s a fucking human being. I guess on that day that I messaged that [tweet about feeling low last month] I felt more human than ever.”
‘CRASH’ is released on March 18.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry has won her ‘Dark Horse’ plagiarism case.
The ‘Roar’ hitmaker and several others were ordered to pay $2.78 million in damages after a jury ruled the 2013 hit copied a Christian rap song.
The 37-year-old singer was told she would have to fork out $550,000 and that her label Capital Records owed nearly $1.3 million after a federal jury in Los Angeles found parts of Katy’s tune – which was number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks in 2014 – resembled Flame’s 2008 song ‘Joyful Noise’.
Katy’s five collaborators, including producers Max Martin, who were also told to stump up $253,000, and Dr Luke’s company Kasz Money Inc owed $189,000, while he was ordered to pay $61,000 personally.
However, on Thursday (10.03.22), a federal court judge ruled that the pop megastar did not plagiarise Flume’s song, marking the end of years of litigation.
As reported by Billboard, the jury favoured Katy with a 3-0 vote.
A statement from the court of appeal read: “The portion of the ‘Joyful Noise’ ostinato that overlaps with the ‘Dark Horse’ ostinato consists of a manifestly conventional arrangement of musical building blocks.
“Allowing a copyright over this material would essentially amount to allowing an improper monopoly over two-note pitch sequences or even the minor scale itself.”
Judge Christina A. Snyder previously issued a ruling to reverse the jury’s verdict, stating that the part of the song used as evidence was not “rare” enough to warrant copyright protection.
Synder wrote: “It is undisputed in this case, that the signature elements of the 8-note ostinato in ‘Joyful Noise’ … is not a particularly unique or rare combination.
“A relatively common 8-note combination of unprotected elements that happens to be played in a timbre common to a particular genre of music cannot be so original as to warrant copyright protection.”
Lawyers for Flame – whose real name is Marcus Gray – had sought nearly $20 million for him and his two co-writers.
After the jury made its verdict, defence lawyers argued for an award of $360,000.
Following the $2.78 million decision, Katy’s lawyer Christine Lepera said: “The writers of ‘Dark Horse’ consider this a travesty of justice.”
She argued Flame and his collaborators were trying to claim copyright for basic elements of music.
Christine told the courtroom: “They’re trying to own basic building blocks of music, the alphabet of music that should be available to everyone.”
The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer and the team behind the song – which had six co-writers in total – testified that they had never heard of ‘Joyful Noise’ before.
It was also noted that Katy started her career in church and playing gospel music.
During the trial, the song was meant to be played to the court but the speakers failed, and Katy lightened the tone when she offered to perform the song.
‘Dark Horse’ was released on Katy’s album ‘Prism’.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS’ Jungkook has admitted singing without fans chanting and singing made it “difficult to perform”.
The K-Pop septet returned to the stage in their home city of Seoul, South Korea on Thursday (10.03.22), for the first of a series of ‘BTS Permission To Dance On Stage – Seoul’ performances, but the 24-year-old singer says the chanting and yelling ban imposed because of COVID-19 made it hard to watch.
In a translated Instagram video, he said: “Finally, after two years, although it felt like 23 years, I got to perform in Korea. Like, wow, finally.
“Overall, I felt extremely happy today. Just extremely happy. And, to be honest, I felt at home.”
He added: “The thing is, especially in Korea, I usually get to hear the fans chant and sing with me.
“I didn’t get to hear that today though. And that made it really difficult for me today, to perform.”
He continued: “I mean, it was still incredible. But I found it difficult. [it was] just kind of hard on me.
“It was like, I’m looking at ARMYs right in front of my eyes but I wasn’t hearing anything [from the audience] and they can’t get up and dance or anything. They had to stay seated. Yeah, it was just difficult to watch.”
Jungkook – who is joined by V, J-Hope, Jimin, Jin, RM and Suga in the boy band – admitted he was “concerned” about whether their ARMY – the name of their fanbase – were enjoying the show throughout the set.
He concluded: “I kept worrying, like, ‘Are they having fun? Are they enjoying the show?’ All throughout the show and even after, I was pretty concerned.
‘What we dealt with today? That entire situation was new for us too.
“I miss you all already. I miss the moments on stage. I miss your voices that I would hear from the audience in the past.”
The group returned to the Olympic Stadium for their first performance in their homeland since 2019.
BTS perform again on March 12 and 13, with the first show to be shown in cinemas across the globe.

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa have served up their new single, ‘Sweetest Pie’.
The ‘WAP’ rapper and the ‘Don’t Start Now’ hitmaker have dropped their hotly-awaited collaboration, along with an eye-popping music video, which sees the pair star in their own fantasy helmed by David Meyers – who is beyond promos for the likes of Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande – with the concept by Megan.
Set in a forest, the pair slay an army of men after being tied to a tree, while there is plenty of twerking action from Megan in the racy visual.
Megan spits: “Me and Dua Lipa finna get the party lit.”
The collaboration comes ahead of Megan opening for Dua on her ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour dates in Denver, Tulsa and Phoenix next week, where they will no doubt give the live debut of the tune.
The track is the first taste of Megan’s forthcoming album, the follow-up to her acclaimed 2020 debut LP ‘Good News’.
The collaboration with Dua, 26, comes after the Houston rapper, 27, released the freestyle compilation ‘Something for Thee Hotties’ in October.
Megan has collaborated with the biggest stars in music, including Beyonce, Cardi B and BTS.
Meanwhile, the ‘Savage’ hitmaker has just announced a first-of-its-kind VR concert tour.
The ‘Butter’ rapper – who calls her fans Hotties – unveiled details of the ‘Enter Thee Hottieverse’ run, which will be heading to 10 US cities.
Showing at theatres, audience members will be handed a pair of Hottie Mounted Displays (VR headsets) before watching the rapper perform “a multi-song set that moves through a series of environments as well as hot custom wardrobes designed just for the show.”
Megan told Billboard: “Virtual reality has always been an interest of mine, and I’m glad that we’ll be able to make history with this experience.
“My hotties will get to watch me perform in a completely different and unique way, and I appreciate the AmazeVR team for helping me to bring this VR vision to life. I can’t wait to see the Hotties show up to the tour.”
The tour kicks off in Los Angeles in April and runs through to July.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bobbie Nelson, the sister and bandmate of Willie Nelson, has died aged 91.
The pianist, singer and member of the Nelson Family band, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday morning (11.03.22).
A statement on Willie’s Instagram page read: “Bobbie Nelson passed away this morning, peacefully and surrounded by family. Bobbie was 91.
“Her elegance, grace, beauty and talent made this world a better place. She was the first member of Willie’s band, as his pianist and singer. Our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed.
“But we are so lucky to have had her in our lives. Please keep her family in your thoughts and give them the privacy they need at this time.”
The musician was featured on a number of her younger sibling’s albums, including ‘Red Headed Stranger’ and ‘Shotgun Willie’.
The pair had also collaborated on two tomes; ‘Me and My Sister Bobbie: True Tales of the Family Band’ and the picturebook ‘Sister, Brother, Family: An American Childhood in Music’.
Bobbie was also a singer in her own right but only released her debut album, ‘Audiobiography’, in her 70s in 2008.
Willie, 88, has suffered from breathing issues in later life and announced he’d quit smoking in 2019 after it almost killed him.
He said: “I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful.
“I started smoking cedar bark, went from that to cigarettes to whatever. And that almost killed me. I don’t smoke anymore – take better care of myself. I’m here, I’m glad to be here. I’m lucky to be here.”
However, Willie loves being able to perform for his fans and doesn’t have any intention of quitting touring any time soon.
He explained: “I love the bus. This is my home. [Performing] is an energy exchange. They give me a lot of positive energy and I hope to give them a lot of positive energy.
“For an hour they get away from everything they don’t like.”

OHMYGOSSIP — YUNGBLUD has released his new single, ‘Funeral’, about “owning” his “insecurities” and being “f****** fearless”.
The ‘Fleabag’ rocker is back with his first new track of 2022, which saw him recruit the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne, and his wife Sharon for the music video.
The 24-year-old star – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – has opened up about “grappling” with who he wants to be over the past 18 months and feeling like a “hypocrite”, as he often preaches to his fans about being “unapologetically themselves”.
He said: “I’d spent a lot of time in the last 18 months grappling with who I really want to be. I’ve honestly just felt like a bit of a hypocrite lately. I’d spent the past 4 years telling people to be unapologetically themselves and to not care about what others think and realized that was something I needed to tell myself. I felt a lot of pressure, a lot of insecurity, a lot of questioning myself. But then I wrote this song and it distilled for me what this next phase in my life, not just my career, was gonna be about.”
YUNGBLUD says ‘Funeral’ is a song he would “take to his grave” and was his chance to make all of his insecurities public.
And after getting them off his chest, he now feels “bulletproof”.
He continued: “The lyrics are literally me listing off everything I’m insecure about because if you identify with what you don’t like about yourself and own it, no one can say anything that you haven’t already said to yourself. You become bulletproof. This song’s about owning those insecurities and just being f****** fearless. It’s about ego, death, rebirth and f****** dancing on your grave. Inviting everyone to join you, but if you’re on your own and you’re the only one dancing – that’s fine too. For this new music, I looked at myself in the mirror and said ‘you ain’t gonna be around forever, how do you want to be remembered? and if you were hit by a car tomorrow and you could sing one more thing before you become worm food, would this song be it?’ Truly, the answer is yes. I would take this to my grave.”
In the promo, in which he hosts his own funeral, Ozzy is driving with Sharon when he runs YUNGBLUD over.
The Black Sabbath legend asks his wife: “What the f*** was that?”
Sharon replies: “Just some f****** poser.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has announced her “The Chromatica Ball” Tour for summer 2022.
The announcement comes after several shows announced before the pandemic had to be rescheduled.
In addition to the rescheduled shows, new locations have been added, giving the tour 15 stops in 14 different cities. There are two performances scheduled to take place in London.
The show is set to feature both fan-favourite hits along with brand new performances of songs from Lady Gaga’s 2020 album ‘Chromatica.’
Lady Gaga won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’ in 2021 for ‘Chromatica.’
Tickets for the London and Arnhem shows go on sale Friday, March 11th, with the rest of the shows going on sale on Monday, March 14th. Previously purchased tickets for all rescheduled shows remain valid, and tickets for those locations (Paris, London, Toronto, East Rutherford, Chicago, and Boston) are on sale now.
$1 from each ticket sold to a US show will be donated to Lady Gaga’s Born This WayFoundation. The foundation supports “young people” to “build communities that provide approachable resources, foster genuine connections and drive action.”

OHMYGOSSIP — My Chemical Romance have cancel their upcoming shows in Russia and Ukraine.
The ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ rockers – made up of Frank Iero, Ray Toro and brothers Gerard and Mikey Way – were set to perform in both countries this summer, but they confirmed the gigs have been axed in a brief statement on Monday (07.03.22) amid Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
They said: “With deep regret, My Chemical Romance is cancelling our Ukraine and Russia shows in June, 2022.
“We hope to be able to play for the fans there soon.”
MCR are the latest band to cancel shows in the region, as Green Day recently announced they were scrapping plans for a Moscow show during the conflict.
In a statement, Billie Joe Armstrong and co said: “With heavy hearts, in light of current events we feel it is necessary to cancel our upcoming show in Moscow at Spartak Stadium.
“We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it’s much bigger than that. But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future. Stay safe.”
The likes of Yungblud and Louis Tomlinson also pulled shows, with the former One Direction star having to pull the plug on gigs in both capital cities.
He wrote on social media: “Due to the recent events in Ukraine, I have to sadly announce that my tour shows in Moscow and Kyiv are cancelled until further notice.
“The safety of my fans is my priority and my thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine and all those suffering from this needless war.”
Meanwhile, Russia has also been banned from this year’s ‘Eurovision Song Contest’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to Dolly Parton at this year’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, with a performance of ‘I Will Always Love You’.
The 39-year-old singer belted out the late, great Whitney Houston’s classic hit in honour of the 76-year-old country music legend, who hosted the ceremony at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Monday night (07.03.22).
Afterwards, Dolly – who received a standing ovation from the packed crowd – said: “I know that Whitney is smiling down on us tonight, so thank you very much – she would be proud of that.
“I was backstage trying not to cry my false eyelashes off – slinging snot in every direction and tears. But anyway, that was an amazing job!”
Kelly revealed on her show last month that she was planning to pay tribute to Dolly at the event.
She said at the time: “I love her so much.”
‘Jolene’ hitmaker Dolly dedicated the spectacle to the people of Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion of the country.
As she opened the ceremony, she said: “I love to laugh, I love to joke, and we’re going to have a good time tonight, but I do want us before we get started with all our fun to take a serious moment.
“Now I don’t want to be political and this is not. I’d rather pass a kidney stone than do that, but I want us to send our love and hope to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
“So why don’t we just dedicate this entire show to them and pray for peace around this crazy old world?”
During the event, Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce and Lainey Wilson were the big winners on the night, each scooping two prizes.
Miranda won the coveted Entertainer of the Year prize and she also scooped the Video of the Year accolade for her and Elle King’s accompaniment to song ‘Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home)’.
She told the crowd: “Oh my gosh, I cannot believe I’m not there to celebrate.
“This is my first time missing the ACMs in 17 years.
“My heart is a little broken, but I’m happy to be where I am. I’ve been waiting for this for a really, really long time.”
Carly Pearce won the Female Artist of the Year, and she also picked up the Music Event of the Year prize for ‘Never Wanted to Be That Girl’ alongside Ashley McBryde.
Lainey Wilson took home both Song of the Year for ‘Things a Man Oughta Know’, and New Female Artist of the Year.
What’s more, Chris Stapleton won the Male Artist of the Year accolade, Brothers Osborne scooped Duo of the Year, and Old Dominion took home Group of the Year.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prodigy have announced their first live tour since Keith Flint’s death.
The ‘Firestarter’ band – made up of Liam Howlett and Maxim – are dedicating the upcoming summer shows to their late frontman, who tragically took his own life aged 49 in 2019.
Revealing their plans for a UK run celebrating the 25th anniversary of ‘The Fat of the Land’, they said: “We can’t wait to get back on stage and play our tunes for the people again.
“The 25th anniversary of ‘Fat of the Land’ felt like the right time for us to step up.”
They added: “This one’s for Flinty. Now let’s f*****’ go!”
They also teased the possibility of some new material on the way as they suggested the setlists could feature some unheard tracks.
They said: “We’ll be droppin tunes from all our albums and maybe some s*** u haven’t heard before. (sic)”
The tour will kick off with two nights at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on July 8 and 9, followed by dates in Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester.
The run comes to an end with three shows at the O2 Academy, Brixton.
Meanwhile, the band’s announcement comes days after the duo paid tribute to Flint on the third anniversary of his death.
They wrote: “Its been three years … We miss u every single day brother, but we feel u always with and around us.
“Your Fire will never go out. Stay Punk brother. We live forever! (sic)”
Liam and Maxim are currently working on an album in the late star’s honour after giving fans a teaser in May 2021.
Alongside a 15-second clip of a Nu metal-style beat, they tweeted: “New Prodigy studio session beats are rollin #theprodigy #keepitraw #weliveforthebeats.”
Following the tragic death of Keith, songwriter-and-producer Liam confirmed that The Prodigy had gone back into the studio for the first time since his passing.
Their upcoming eighth record will be the follow-up to 2018’s ‘No Tourists’, which was the fourth and final LP to feature Keith’s vocals and co-writing before his death.
It’s not known if Liam will posthumously feature on any of the new material.

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo will debut a new song in her upcoming Disney+ film.
The 19-year-old star’s movie ‘Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film)’ – which drops on the streaming platform on March 25 – is set to feature live performances of tunes from her debut album, interviews about the tracks and behind the scenes footage from the studio, as well as an unnamed work-in-progress piece currently sat as a demo on her iPhone.
She told Rolling Stone: “I was listening to some of them and heard it and thought, ‘Oh, it’s kind of good!’
“With the film, I wanted people to have a new bit of ‘Sour’ content with it.”
The track was scrapped from her first LP, but Olivia is exciting to give the unreleased song an airing in the end credits of her film.
Now, her attention is turning to her follow-up record as she puts this chapter behind her.
She added: “It felt like a closing chapter for me. I’m so, so excited to put out new music and to create the next set of worlds.”
Olivia – who will hit the road for her first ever tour next month – admitted her songs took on “an entirely different meaning” after her debut album was released in May 2021, and she enjoyed the opportunity to look back on them for the Disney+ project.
She said: “When you put out an album or put out singles, they take on an entirely different meaning. I think that’s the beautiful part about music.
“It was really interesting to go back and watch footage of when the songs are kind of beginning to form.
“I think there’s magic to that creative process, and they’re really fond memories in my life.”
