OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora “can’t wait” to go on tour again.
The 31-year-old singer is working on a new album and is looking forward to going out on the road and performing once more.
Speaking on ‘Smallzy’s Celebrity Small Talk’, Rita said: “I can’t wait for that to happen again, which is definitely going to happen once this third album comes out for sure.”
The ‘Anywhere’ singer revealed that she has been working on her upcoming record in Los Angeles and says it will “pleasantly surprise” her fans.
Rita said: “I’ve been recording in LA this whole time. It’s really nearly done and I think you guys are going to be very, very pleasantly surprised.”
The new album is an important one for Rita as it is the first under a new record deal where she owns all of her own masters and she thinks it has given her more creative freedom.
She said: “First of all, I’m very proud of this new deal because I own all of my own masters, which is a huge thing. If anyone listening doesn’t really know what that means, it basically means when you know, you write your own music and you publish it … usually publishers get percentages … when you’re on your own masters, it gives you a lot more freedom.”
Rita believes that this will be the way forward for other artists in the music industry.
She added: “I think it’s a new way of … thinking and for up and coming artists, it’s nice to see that you’re not as dependent as you would use to be, say, before streaming happened.”
The ‘Hot Right Now’ hitmaker also suggested that she hopes younger artists can follow in her footsteps.
Rita said: “I’m doing this also for all the young artists to see that ‘Wow I can do this too’ … there are so many different lanes you can take nowadays and that’s what’s great about making music … there’s a lot more ways of getting out there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Fender felt “less afraid” to sing in his Geordie accent on ‘Seventeen Going Under’
The ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ rocker – who is from North Shields, North East England – has suggested he’s not always felt confident about singing in his thick northern accent, but because the track is so “autobiographical”, it felt “natural” to let his Geordie accent come out.
Speaking to Dazed, he said: “I don’t always sing with a very strong accent, but with ‘Seventeen Going Under’, I was less afraid to let my Geordie come out. It’s an autobiographical song, so it made sense. There’s also little moments of that song where it’s almost like spoken-word – it’s still singing but it’s very conversational, so it felt natural to use my own accent.”
Meanwhile, the BRIT Award winner recently confessed he relishes telling his former classmates to “f*** off” when they ask him to play at their weddings.
The ‘Spit Of You’ singer felt out of place at a sixth form college in a wealthy part of Whitley Bay, North East England, and while his fellow students used to make fun of him then, but they are keen to ask him for favours now he’s a star, and he has no problem with turning them down.
He said: “There was a corner of the common room that they used to call peasants’ corner, and that’s where I used to sit.
“But they’re all asking us to play their weddings now. And I subsequently tell them all to f*** off. It’s wonderful.”
The 27-year-old musician is already planning his next album following the success of chart-topping ‘Seventeen Going Under’ and is set on cracking America.
Asked what his goals for 2022 are, he said: “Write and record another record, tour that record. Go out to America, start doing stuff out there because we’ve not really scratched the surface of the States.
“It’s flying over here and it’s starting to fly in Europe.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wet Leg were terrified they’d lose their record deal when their label finally saw them in action.
The ‘Chaise Longue’ hitmakers – comprising Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers – were signed to Domino in November 2020, a time when gigs were not taking place because of the coronavirus pandemic so it was a very strange time for them.
Hester told Rolling Stone magazine: “Because there were no gigs, we couldn’t showcase ourselves, which is very strange.
“I was always worried — like, oh my god, when they see that I can’t actually play guitar, they’re going to be like, ‘Excuse me. We need to …’”
Rhian added: “…’Take back the contracts.’ ”
The pair have never set out to be part of a “serious band” and they don’t care what people think of them or their musical ability.
Noting she couldn’t play guitar when the band started out, Rhian said: “When we started Wet Leg, there was a definite, solid decision that it wasn’t going to be a serious band.
“The aim of the game was just to have fun. It doesn’t matter if people are judging us. We’re just going to do it, because why the hell not? It took us so long to get to that point.”
Hester added: “It was scary for sure. Being in [our] mid-twenties and getting older, you’re like, ‘Will people laugh at me? Is this allowed?’ But actually, it is, and you just have to do it.”
The duo have had to upgrade the venues for their North American tour because of a demand for tickets and joked they don’t feel totally at ease in the bigger venues.
Rhian said: “The upgrades have been like putting on shoes that are too big for you and learning how to hobble about in them, and hope that no one notices you’re walking funny.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith is set to return with a “dancey” track.
The 29-year-old singer is preparing to return with an upbeat new single called ‘Love Me More’, and Sam can’t wait for fans to hear the new material.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Sam is super excited to be making a long-awaited comeback and feels the time is ripe.
“They’re all about love, laughter and being able to go out and dance again and want that to reflect in their music after a heavy few years. Of course, Sam will be maintaining their classic sound too, but expect ‘Love Me More’ to have an anthemic, dancey feel.
“The video is filming later this month, with the single expected to drop not long after.”
Despite their success, Sam previously admitted to being a “vulnerable, sensitive person”.
The chart-topping star released their debut album, ‘In the Lonely Hour’, in 2014 and has subsequently enjoyed impressive success, winning numerous Grammys and even an Academy Award.
The singer reflected: “I’ve had an amazing life, but I think I was born with a little bit of sadness in me.
“I’ve always been attracted to those things, whether it’s sad movies, sad music … when you’re sad, you feel everything in a greater way than you do when you’re happy.
“I’m a vulnerable, sensitive person. I overthink everything.”
However, Sam also confessed to being “thankful for [their] sadness”.
The pop star explained: “I’m insanely self-conscious about my body, about my music, about everything in my life, and that self-consciousness is what’s keeping my feet on the ground at the moment. If I didn’t have it, I’d become a bit of a p****. I’m thankful for my sadness.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has thanked his fans after his 10th song on Spotify reached a billion streams.
‘Bad Habits’ by the pop megastar, 31, has passed the milestone and the ‘Perfect’ hitmaker has shared a message with his supporters thanking them for the plays.
Speaking in a video shared to his Facebook page, Ed – who released a heavy metal remix of the track featuring Bring Me The Horizon – said: “Hey guys, ‘Bad Habits’ has just hit a billion streams on Spotify, which is my 10th song on Spotify to hit a billion streams.
“Thanks so much for streaming all of my songs and liking my songs, it means so much that ‘Bad Habits’ is this… It’s not even been a year yet and I am really proud of that song and really happy that you guys like it. Thank you for all the plays. Lots of love.”
Last year, Ed’s mega-hit ‘Shape of You’ became the first song on Spotify to reach three billion streams.
The Grammy winner has been in court facing a copyright trial for ‘Shape of You’ and admitted he has found the legal hassle “deeply traumatising”.
Ed was taken to court by grime artist Sami Chokri, who claimed the melody of the smash hit is “strikingly similar” to that of his 2015 song ‘Oh Why’.
And the musician and his team have been badly affected by the accusation and case, according to his lawyer.
Ian Mill QC told the High Court last month: “[The case] has been deeply traumatising [for Ed and his co-writers.] It is terribly, terribly unfortunate. This case should never have got to trial. My clients are entitled to be vindicated.”
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker – along with his co-writers producer Steven McCutcheon and Snow Patrol musician John McDaid – have all denied the claims and assert that they do not remember hearing the track ‘Oh Why’ before penning the multi-million selling single.
Forensic musicologist Anthony Ricigliano completed an analysis of the two songs and disputed the claims in High Court.
He said: “Such similarities as there are, when placed in context, in my view lack significance in relation to the allegation of copying from ‘Oh Why’. They are commonplace forms of expression, both in terms of use by other writers and by Mr. Sheeran himself. I would disagree with the characterisation. The two are coincidentally similar but there are distinctive differences.”
Ed had royalties from ‘Shape Of You’ blocked back in August 2019 due to the case.
After the 11-day trial concluded on March 22, Ed is awaiting the verdict.

OHMYGOSSIP — Phil Collins has performed his final show with Genesis.
The ‘Invisible Touch’ hitmakers – also comprising Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks – played the last night of ‘The Last Domino?’ farewell run at London’s The O2 on Saturday night (26.03.22).
According to reports, the 71-year-old musician, who has been unable to play drums and has been forced to sing the majority of their set from a chair, due to ongoing health issues, quipped about needing to “get a real job now”.
Phil’s son Nic Collins, 20, replaced his father on the drums for the jaunt.
And the music legend’s actress daughter Lily Collins, 33, has paid tribute to Genesis and thanked her father and his bandmates for a “lifetime of memories”, while she gushed about being “the proudest sister” to Nic.
Alongside a series of backstage snaps from the concert, the ‘Emily in Paris’ star wrote on Instagram: “Tonite marks the end of an era. To have witnessed this last show was truly the memory of a lifetime and an event I shall hold in my heart forever. Endlessly grateful doesn’t begin to do it justice. So much love was left on that O2 stage and an even bigger amount shared between an audience who didn’t want it to end. Thank you @genesis_band for the memories, thank you dad for being such an inspiration and thank you @nic_collins for making me the proudest sister there is. 50 years of songs later and still generations more to celebrate you long after this tour has finished… (sic)”
The ‘In The Air Tonight’ hitmaker previously admitted he can “barely” hold a drum stick in his hand in a devastating health update.
Phil has suffered for a long time with poor health since he injured a vertebrae in his upper neck while performing in 2009.
Two years later, he stepped back from performing due to crippling nerve damage, which rendered him unable to play the drums, before returning in 2015.
Promoting the reunion shows, he said: “I’m kind of physically challenged a bit which is very frustrating because I’d love to be playing up there with my son.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Molko thinks that David Bowie is still with them as a “lucky star.”
The 49-year-old rocker – who is known for being the frontman of rock band Placebo – had worked with David over the years and admitted that he still sees the legendary glam rock icon as a “mentor” who is still with him following his death from liver cancer at the age of 69 back in 2016.
He said: “I feel like I still carry a piece of him with me, as a mentor, godfather or lucky star. I still feel it’s hard for me to talk about David. I have absolute gratitude for him, unequivocally. There are certain days, like his birthday, when he would have been 75-, I’m nearly 50 now, I’m getting old so I often think about him. When he was my age he threw a huge party at Madison Square Garden,which we had the honour of playing. When I was in his orbit I was young and arrogant.”
The ‘Pure Morning’ hitmaker – who collaborated with the late star on Placebo hit’Without You I’m Nothing’ – went on to explain that he didn’t “fully understand’ the impact that ‘Ziggy Stardust’ icon had had on him until after his death and admitted that sometimes the grief “hits him hard.”
He told The Daily Star’s Wired column: “I was convinced I deserved to be there by his side. He had to leave us before I fully understood the influence he had on me as an artist and a human being. At the time, I didn’t realise anything. Today all of that apprenticeship makes sense. Sometimes emotions hit me hard and talking about David often does that to me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie and Paloma Faith have been confirmed to perform at ITV’s ‘Concert for Ukraine.’
The ‘2002’ hitmaker, 30, and fellow pop star Paloma,40, have joined a lineup that already includes the likes of Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and Becky Hill at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham on Tuesday (29.03.22) as the stars pull together to raise funds for Ukraine amid Russian president Vladimir Putin’s ongoing invasion of the country.
The live show will broadcast across ITV, STV, ITV Hub and STV Player from 8pm and is produced by Livewire Pictures. Global while the Media Entertainment Group, is joining as media partner as the broadcaster teams up with the Disasters Emergency Committee to raise an expected £3 million for the war torn country.
The three-hour telethon is set to be hosted by hosted by Capital Breakfast’s Sian Welby as well as Heart’s Dev Griffin and ex-Spice Girl Emma Bunton.
Other famous faces confirmed to be taking part include Nile Rodgers Chic, ‘Next to Me’ singer, Emeli Sandé, Gregory Porter, The Kingdom Choir,rock band Manic Street Preachers, ‘Chasing Cars’ hitmakers Snow Patrol and BRIT Award winner Tom Odell.
In a statement, Nile Rodgers said: “In times of trouble you can always count on great musical artists to come together to help bring focus on what really matters. At this moment in time nothing is more important than showing the people affected by conflict in Ukraine that we stand with them, that we are family. I’m therefore delighted to be joining Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello and all the wonderful artists coming together to make this a success. OHMYGOSSIP — Caroline Polachek has quit the Dua Lipa tour.
The 36-year-old singer was supporting superstar Dua, 26, on her ‘Future Nostalgia’ tour but has been forced to pull out after sustaining an ankle injury by falling on the tour bus.
She said: “Life comes at you fast..i had a bad fall today down the stairs of our tour bus and tore my ankle, now back from the hospital but can’t walk on it for ten days. So heartbroken to now not be able to perform with @dualipa at the last couple shows of this absolute dream tour.”(sic)
The ‘Bunny is a Rider’ singer had been supporting Dua on the stateside leg of her tour since early February and has also been forced to miss an upcoming headline show due to the injury, apologising to her 278k followers on Instagram.
Alongside a slideshow showcasing images of her injury, she wrote: “Deepest apologies to you guys coming to my show in Tacoma on Wednesday, stand by for refund info. Much much love!”
Caroline will reportedly not perform at tomorrow’s (29.03.22) show at Portland’s Moda Center, Thursday’s (31.03.22) gig at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle and will even miss the American leg finale on Friday (01.04.222) at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.
The ‘Levitating’ singer and BRIT Award winner was quick to send her well-wishes to Caroline in the comments as she continues the tour before preparing to head out on the road in her native Britain.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicola Roberts wrote a letter to Geri Halliwell asking for help to make it in the music industry.
The 36-year-old pop star revealed that when she was a child she tried to get in touch with Geri – who at that time was at the height of her fame as Ginger Spice in the Spice Girls – and begged her to listen to her tape and “pass it on” to industry execs.
She said: “I wrote a letter to Geri when I was 11. I put the blonde bits in the front of my head and I wrote a letter because I used to sing, Say You’ll Be There, all the time in competitions. I wrote a letter to say, ‘Hi Geri, I’m such a big fan, I really would love to be in the music industry. I’m a really good singer. I sing, ‘Say You’ll Be There’ all the time and I win all the competitions. Please, if you could listen to my tape and pass it on to somebody, that could help me.’ I don’t know where we sent the letter off, maybe my parents didn’t even send it, I don’t know, but I wrote the letter!”
Nicola later found fame as a teenager when she was selected alongside Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and the late Sarah Harding to be in Girls Aloud via the ITV talent show ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ and spoke of how surreal it was to end up being mentored by the ‘Mi Chico Latino’ singer on the programme after being a fan for so many years.
Speaking on the ‘Hear Her Voice’ podcast, she told host Laura Whitmore: “Then for Geri to be so supportive of me and so encouraging and really championing me throughout ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ was just one of those moments where you’re just like, the universe…what is this? OHMYGOSSIP — Muse have announced two fundraising gigs.
The ‘Uprising’ rockers will take to the stage at the intimate Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on May 9th and 10th to raise funds for a number of charities including War Child and Médecins Sans Frontières’ relief efforts in Ukraine, as well as The Big Issue.
In a statement, the band said: “We’re honoured to be able to play these shows over two nights for three outstanding organisations. They’re out there delivering vital services time after time for the most vulnerable people in society, both in the UK and abroad.”
The band – which consists of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard – will be supported by fellow rock band Razorlight for the shows and Médecins Sans Frontières boss James Kliffen said that by supporting the band with the show, fans would also be supporting some of the most pressing emergencies” today.
He said: “In half a century of providing emergency aid, the last two years have been by far the most challenging. We’re responding to conflict and emergencies in countries like Ukraine, Afghanistan and Yemen, getting supplies and medics to where they’re needed most, whilst treating the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing climate change crises around the world.
“In choosing to support us, Muse and their fans are helping support some of the most pressing emergencies of our time, whether those are headline news or the world’s forgotten crises. On behalf of our patients and everyone at MSF, thank you for your support.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran dedicated a song to late Jamal Edwards at his latest concert.
The 31-year old pop star was performing at Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust on Sunday (28.03.22) and introduced early hit ‘You Need Me, I Don’t Need You’ in memory of Jamal, who helped launched his career with online music platform SB.TV back in 2011 and reportedly died from a suspected heart attack aged 31 at the end of last month.
He is quoted by The Metro as saying: “We lost a really, really amazing soul just over a month ago, Jamal Edwards.He was my best friend, he was my brother. He changed my life. The song that I’m going to play is a song that he put onto his channel and this song opened up every single door for me, and I just want to say that this one’s for him. My brother.”
Jamal launched the urban music platform back in 2006 and in doing so helped launch the careers of other stars such as Jessie J, Rita Ora and Stormzy and when he passed away, the ‘Shivers’ hitmaker eventually posted a tribute to his Instagram where he claimed he would not be where he is today without the tragic entrepreneur.
At the time, he said: “I haven’t posted anything coz I can’t find the words, I can’t reply coz I don’t know what to say. Jamal is my brother. His light shone so bright. He only used it to illuminate others and never asked for anything in return. A stars light shines for millions of years after they go, and his will continue to light up every dark moment, we are all witnessing his power. I would not be here without him, professionally and personally. There will never be anything close to what he is, but I’m so grateful to have existed within his orbit. My brother, come on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roxy Music have announced their first tour for 11 years.
The rock band are set to begin their 50th-anniversary arena tour in September 2022 in Canada and the United States before continuing with three dates in the UK in October.
The tour will mark the first time that band members Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson have performed together on stage since 2011’s ‘For Your Pleasure’ tour.
The majority of the tour dates will feature the 39-year-old American musician St. Vincent, whose real name is Annie Clark. Supporting artists for the Boston show as well as the UK shows have yet to be announced.
Tickets for the UK dates in Glasgow, Manchester and London will go on sale this Thursday (31.03.22), and pre-sale tickets start on Tuesday (29.03.22).
Special anniversary editions of all eight of Roxy Music’s past studio albums will be reissued throughout the year in celebration of the milestone anniversary.
Their self-titled debut album, ‘Roxy Music,’ was released in 1972, and the tour will celebrate everything the band has achieved since.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Gaslight Anthem have confirmed a world tour days after announcing their return as a “full time” band.
The group – made up of Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine and Benny Horowitz – have been on hiatus since 2015, besides reuniting to celebrate their 2008 breakthrough album ‘The ’59 Sound’, and now they’re ready to hit the road again.
Sharing tour dates with their fans, the band said on Instagram: “We’re excited to finally hit the road this summer with dates across North America, the UK and Europe.
“Presales for all dates kick off tomorrow at 10am local time with password “tga2022”.
“Public on-sale for all UK and European dates begins Thursday at 10am local and all North American dates go on-sale Friday at 10am local.

News of the tour comes after the band revealed on Friday (25.03.22) they were coming back in a big way with a new album in the pipeline.

“However, I am very pleased to announce to you all that The Gaslight Anthem is returning to full time status as a band.
“We’ll be announcing a lot of tour dates in the next couple of days. We’re also beginning to write new songs for what will be our sixth LP.

The European leg kicks off on August 9 in Berlin with a run of German shows, while the band set for their biggest UK headline gig to date at London’s Wembley Arena on August 18, followed by nights in Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Dubin and Belfast.
From September 13 until October 5, The Gaslight Anthem will then head across North America.

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles will release new single ‘As It Was’ on Friday (01.04.22).
The 28-year-old singer announced earlier this month he is to drop a brand-new album, ‘Harry’s House’, on May 20th 2022, and ‘As It Was’ looks set to be the first release from the record.
Harry posted several pictures on Instagram of himself dressed in a sleeveless, sequined red outfit, and he wrote in the caption: “As It Was. April 1.”
The new tune will mark his first new solo music since his 2019 LP ‘Fine Line’.
Harry – who also released a self-titled album in 2017 – took to social media to announce ‘Harry’s House’.
Alongside a photo of the album cover, Harry wrote on Twitter: “Harry’s House. May 20th.”
The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ hitmaker also released a trailer for the album intercut with shots of screaming fans from his mammoth live shows, and he was seen standing on a bare stage in a theatre while a scenery cut out of a bright yellow house is erected around him.
It came just days after Harry teased fans that something new was on the way with a new Instagram account which featured only pictures of arched doors, and he launched a mysterious website at YouAreHome.co, that would open to a different image when a computer mouse was rolled over it.
A Twitter account called @youarehome – which has so far garnered 510,000 followers – was also launched around the same time and featured cryptic tweets such as “find a moment of calm, colour it in”, “in this world, it’s just us, you know it’s not the same as it was” (sic), “what happens in between colours?” and “what are you doing here?”
The release of the 13-track album will also come just one month before the ‘Adore You’ singer resumes his ‘Love On’ Tour, which is set to open in Glasgow in June before going on to Wembley Stadium, following a number of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Mick Jagger wrote his first-ever TV theme “very, very quickly”.
The 78-year-old icon has revealed he wrote the theme for the Apple TV+ series ‘Slow Horses’ after reading the Mick Herron book on which it’s based.
The Rolling Stones star told Variety: “It’s a quite popular series of books, so I knew what it was about.
“I knew the vibe really well, so as soon as [composer Daniel Pemberton] sent the track to me, I just dashed off a few pages of notes of what I thought it was about. It came very, very quickly, which is always a good sign.”
Daniel has been working for months on the new series, which is set to premiere in April.
The composer also revealed that he and Jagger collaborated on the project over Zoom calls, emails and text messages.
Daniel said: “I played him the track on guitar. I’m not even a good guitarist. That was very weird, playing guitar for Mick Jagger on the Zoom line.”
Speaking about their collaboration, Jagger added: “I just recorded it on my iPhone and sent it to him, and he loved it. And then we had to do a bit of crafting, trying to get a chorus, calling it ‘Strange Game’ and trying to get the verses from the point of view of the main character.”
Meanwhile, director James Hawes explained why he wanted to get the music icon involved with the project.
