OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Hayward-Young thinks life on other planets is “inevitable.”
The 34-year-old musician – who is currently lead singer and guitarist of Indie rock band The Vaccines – thinks that “other life forms” are pretty likely but is unsure whether they resemble “humans or snails.”
He said: “I guess it’s an inevitability, isn’t it? That in some faraway galaxy there are other life forms out there, whether or not they resemble humans or are more like snails, I’m not sure. But yeah, I do feel like it’s pretty likely. We’ll always want to know, I think, because it’s just part of the evolutionary process.”
It comes as the rock star and his bandmates Pete Robertson, Arni Arnason and Yoann Intonti release their other-worldly EP ‘Planet of the Youth’, which Justin says is all about “feeling like an alien.”
He told The Daily Star newspaper: “The whole tagline of the EP is about feeling like an alien on The Planet of the Youth as I get slightly older. But when I think back to being 16 or 17 I felt as much of an alien on this planet as I do now.”
The ‘Teenage Icon’ hitmakers are also set to hit the road once more for a UK tour, which Justin promises will “lean” on their first two records given that it is their 10th anniversary.
He said: “I want [the fans] to go wild as I know I will be! We played a couple of shows last summer and they were certainly crazy, so I really hope these are. I haven;t gone this long in my adult life without doing a gig! We lean quite heavily on the first two records given that it was our 10 year anniversary of the first one recently, so we do a lot of that on set.”
The tour will kick off on April 14 in Manchester and run until mid-June, when it closes in Leeds.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Fletcher was once insulted about his voice by Rod Stewart .
The 36-year-old pop star – who shot to fame as lead singer of boy band McFly alongside Dougie Poynter, Harry Judd and Danny Jones in the early 2000s – revealed that rock legend Rod had been on the phone to Danny suggesting that he should take over as frontman without realising he was on loudspeaker.
Tom said: “He was on loud speaker and didn’t know. He was telling Danny he should have sung all the songs because his voice is way better than mine, and I was like, ‘Hi Rod, I’m here.’ It was an awful moment!”
The ‘All About You’ hitmaker – who is married to ‘I’m a Celebrity’ winner Giovanna Fletcher, 37, and has sons Buzz, eight, Buddy, six, and three-year-old Max with her – has reunited with his band for a comeback album and while he remained tight lipped about much of the project, revealed that it should be released by the end of 2023.
Speaking to the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, he added: “We started it last summer and hope to get it released by the end of the year. I don’t want to give too much away but it’s very band-y again, which is nice. I feel like we’ve remembered who McFly is. It’s been good fun.”
However, Tom admitted that it was “tricky” to have to put the band on hold whilst he took time out to take part in the 2021 series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, in which he eventually placed seventh with professional partner Amy Dowden.
He said: “Being on those shows… it’s really intense, especially when you’ve got other things going on in your life. I’ve got the band and books to write. Having to put them on hold was tricky.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Country singer C.W. McCall has died at the age of 93.
The music star – who was best known for his 1975 hit ‘Convoy’ – passed away on Friday (01.04.22) in Ouray, Colorado, from cancer.
McCall’s son, Bill Fries III, confirmed the news to the Washington Post newspaper, after announcing in February that he was in hospice care for cancer.
McCall – whose real name was Bill Fries – actually worked in advertising before he found fame and success in the music industry.
The country singer eventually created the character of C.W. McCall in the early 1970s, when he appeared in a commercial for Old Home Bread.
The advert won an award and that success set him on the road to music stardom.
McCall assumed the persona of an outlaw trucker and he enjoyed a great run of success between 1974 and 1978.
He topped the charts with his most-famous hit ‘Convoy’, which inspired a film that featured the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Ali McGraw, and Ernest Borgnine.
The track also recently witnessed a revival as it became part of the Freedom Convoy movement in Canada, where protests and blockades were organised against COVID-19 vaccine mandates and restrictions.
Besides’Convoy’, McCall also achieved chart success with tracks such as ‘Wolf Creek Pass’, ‘Roses for Mama’ and ‘Classified’.
Meanwhile, between 1986 and 1992, McCall served as the mayor of his hometown of Ouray.
The country music star is survived by his wife Rena Fries and their three children, Bill, Mark and Nancy Fries.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jon Batiste took home five awards at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
The 35-year-old musician was the big winner at theceremony held on Sunday (03.04.22) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas – which was hosted by comedian Trevor Noah – including Album of the Year for his 2021 smash ‘We Are’ as he claimed that music is a “spiritual experience” for him.
He said: “I love music, I’ve been playing since I was a little boy. It’s more than entertainment for me, it’s a spiritual practice.”
The ‘I Need You’ singer – who fought off stiff competition from the likes of Doja Cat, Lady Gaga and Olivia Rodrigo for the prestigious award – also won for his song ‘Cry’, the video for ‘Freedom’ and for his work composing with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on the soundtrack for ‘Soul.’
Hot on his heels were R B supergroup Silk Sonic which comprises ‘Marry You’ hitmaker Bruno Mars and rapper Anderson .Paak who took home four Grammys for their efforts over the last year in music.
The duo received Record of the Year for their 2021 debut ‘Leave the Door Open’, just hours after scooping up the gong for Song of the Year at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards and by the end joked that they were “trying hard” to be humble.
Things took a sombre turn when Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an appearance via a pre-recorded video message and told viewers that music should be the “opposite of war” as he longed for his country to be free of the conflict brought on by the Russian invasion.
He said: “The war doesn’t let us choose who survives and who stays in eternal silence. Our musicians wear body armour instead of tuxedos. They sing to the wounded in hospitals, even to those who can’t hear them. But the music will break through anyway.”
Rock band the Foo Fighters won three awards but were not in attendance to collect the trophies following the death of Taylor Hawkins but the show’s In Memorium segment opened with an extended tribute to the drummer – who was found dead aged 50 at the end of last month after reportedly suffering cardiovascular collapse and pop star Billie Eilish wore a t-shirt with his face on it in tribute as she performed ‘Happier Than Ever’.
The section also honoured other late stars such as Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, Meat Loaf and his collaborator Jim Steinman and paid tribute to musical theatre legend Stephen Sondheim with a performance of some of his iconic showtunes.
Pop star Olivia Rodrigo led the performances of the night, opening the show with an elaborately staged version of her viral hit ‘drivers license’ and when she was named Best New Artist claimed that her “biggest dream” had come true.
Other performance highlights included Silk Sonic’s performance of ‘777’ just before their first big win, ‘American Idol’ winner Carrie Underwood’s debut of new song ‘Ghost Story’ and Lady Gaga, who took to the stage to perform jazz number ‘Love For Sale’ without co-star Tony Bennett, who was not able to attend due to ill health.

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo wants to sing with Brandi Carlile.
The 19-year-old singer walked the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (03.04.22) and admitted there were “so many people” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas that she’d like to collaborate with in future but the ‘Right on Time’ hitmaker is at the top of her list.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “Brandi Carlile is performing tonight and she is a big inspiration.”
Olivia took home Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal album for ‘Sour’ and also performed her smash hit ‘Drivers License’ and although she “couldn’t fathom” actually winning any of the accolades she was nominated for ahead of the ceremony, she was delighted to be there.
She said: “I feel very lucky that I get to do this…
“It’s crazy, I have just watched the GRAMMYs religiously since I was so young and just to be here and perform up on that stage is such an honour.”
The ‘Good 4 U’ singer is preparing to go on her first-ever tour “literally” after the Grammys but explained one of the reasons why she made her documentary film ‘Driving Home 2 U (A Sour Film)’ was for fans who are unable to make her concerts so they can experience her in action without leaving their homes.
She said: “We worked really hard on the film and I am going on tour literally the second we finish the GRAMMYs, so I wanted to give my fans who would not be able to make it to a concert something they can watch.
“You know, [give them] a little bit of new content. So, I am happy that we did that.”
Olivia broke down in tears when she collected her Grammy for Best New Artist.
She said in her acceptance speech: “God, thank you so much to the Recording Academy. This is my biggest dream come true. Thank you so much. Thank you to everyone at Interscope Records, especially [CEO] John Janick for believing in me and my song-writing before everyone else.”
The singer went on to credit “everything” to her collaborator and fellow songwriter Dan Nigro, who “discovered” the starlet on Instagram back in March 2020.
She added: “Thank you to my amazing parents and my best friends Iris, Maddie and Conan and a huge thanks to Dan who made all of my music wit me. Dan, you are the best friend and collaborator I could ever ask for you and this is all because of you. Thank you.”

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA has finished her long-awaited second studio album.
The Grammy winner – who had to use a wheelchair and crutches to get around Las Vegas’ Grand Garden Arena for the ceremony on Sunday night (03.04.22), after falling out of bed – has revealed her follow-up to her 2017 debut studio album ‘Ctrl’ is finally complete, and she teased it’s her “most unisex” LP to date.
Speaking to Variety, she said: “I just finished it up in Hawaii.
“And it’s coming soon!”
She teased: “I think it’s my most unisex album. I think it’s for everyone.”
The 31-year-old star – who was helped by Lady Gaga, who lifted the train of her gown when she collected the award for Best Pop Duo/Performance for ‘Kiss Me More’ with Doja Cat – also explained why she required a wheelchair and crutches.
She said: “I fell out of bed before I came here.
“Whenever something big happens to me, something crazy happens too.”
Not only did SZA struggle to collect the award, but Doja nearly didn’t make it out as she was in the bathroom when they were announced as winners.
However, the ‘Say So’ hitmaker paid a touching tribute to her collaborator.
She said: “SZA, you are everything to me. You are the epitome of talent. You’re a lyricist. You’re everything.”

OHMYGOSSIP — H.E.R. found it surreal performing with Lenny Kravitz at the Grammys.
The 24-year-old singer was “at a loss for words” getting to share a stage with her idol at the ceremony at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday night (03.04.22).
The pair were joined by Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker for a rendition of Lenny’s 1993 mega-hit ‘Are You Gonna Go My Way’, and it was a “full-circle moment” for H.E.R., who grew up idolising Lenny and late music icon Prince, who performed together.
According to Billboard, she said: “I was having so much fun. I watched Lenny growing up, playing with Prince. I’d study literally all his videos of his performances, and he’s one of the reasons why he wanted to play guitar to have this full-circle moment and perform with him. I was at a loss for words.”
H.E.R. also performed her Grammy-nominated single ‘Damage’ – which was shortlisted for Best R B Song and Best R B Performance but lost to Silk Sonic’s ‘Leave The Door Open’ – with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.
Jazmine Sullivan also tied with duo Silk Sonic – comprising Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak – for the latter accolade with her song ‘Pick Up Your Feelings’.
Travis – whose fiance Kourtney Kardashian was seen beaming in the crowd – joined the songstress again for a performance of ‘We Made It’ from H.E.R.’s Grammy-nominated 2021 album ‘Back of My Mind’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry and Dua Lipa are waiting for their schedules to align to record a duet.
The pop megastars have had two failed attempts to release a hit together after Dua decided not to feature on Katy’s track ‘Teary Eyes’ on her 2020 LP ‘Smile’, while the ‘Don’t Start Now’ hitmaker wanted to get the American superstar on her song ‘Ball Chain’, but she was too busy at the time.
Now, an insider has claimed the duo are still hoping to get in the studio together.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Dua and Katy are both fans of each other.
“So far it’s been an issue of schedules and that Dua was determined to keep (her 2020 album) ‘Future Nostalgia’ collab-free. But now she’s looking to the future and has loads of people she wants to work with.”
The pair will soon have a collaborator in common, as it was recently reported that Katy has recorded a new remix of one of Madonna’s biggest hits for an upcoming remix album to mark The Queen of Pop’s 40th anniversary.
A source said: “Madonna has been going flat out over the past few weeks.
“Not only is she working on her biopic but she’s also been in the studio at all hours.
“She’s been a massive fan of Katy for years and always talked about doing a song with her.
“With the remix project things have fallen into place. As plans are still being sorted out, no release date is set yet. Hopefully fans won’t have to wait too long.”
The ‘Like a Virgin’ hitmaker is celebrating four decades since the release of her 1982 debut single, ‘Everybody’, in October.
Dua, meanwhile, got Madonna and Missy Elliott to feature on a remix of ‘Levitating’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolfgang Van Halen is feeling “pretty damn grateful” for his first-ever Grammy nomination.
The son of late Van Halen axe-slayer Eddie Van Halen was shortlisted for Best Rock Song for his track ‘Distance’ about his late pop – which he released as Mammoth WVH – at the ceremony in Las Vegas on Sunday night (03.04.22).
The prize ended up going to Foo Fighters and their song ‘Waiting on a War’, but Wolfgang is happy to have even received the nod alongside some of his favourite artists.
In a typed-out message on Twitter, the 31-year-old rocker – who was joined by his mom Valerie Bertinelli and girlfriend Andraia Allsop on the red carpet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena – began: “We came, we saw, but we did NOT conquer and that’s ok!
I got to have a wonderful night with the two most important women in my world.
“Such an honor to be nominated for the first song I ever released on my own, in a category with artists I’ve looked up to my entire life. I don’t know if that’ll ever set in fully. (sic)”
Wolfgang noted that his father – who passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer in October 2020 – also didn’t win the first time he was nominated in 1985.
He continued: “Pop didn’t win the first time he was nominated too, so it looks like I’m following in his footsteps quite nicely.”
Wolfgang concluded: “Who knows what the future holds. All I know is I’m feeling pretty damn grateful. What a wild experience this was.
“Thank you to the @recordingacademy for the recognition, and thank YOU for the support. Y’all mean the world to me.”
Earlier on the red carpet, Wolfgang’s actress mother said she could feel the ‘Jump’ hitmaker’s presence at the Grammys and said he would have been so proud of his son.
Valerie told People: “There’s only one other person that would be prouder than me. And that’s pretty impossible, but it would be Ed.”
“I feel him so strongly right now. He’s here with us. He is.
“I’m not gonna make you cry too, baby. But yeah. He’s here. Thanks, Ed. It’s fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Finneas doesn’t want to see any “trash talking” after he and Billie Eilish failed to earn any Grammys for ‘Happier Than Ever’.
The pop superstar’s acclaimed album and the title track scored the duo seven prizes at Sunday night’s (03.04.22) ceremony at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
However, after Billie and her brother and collaborator came home empty-handed, Finneas had nothing but “love” for the winners, including Jon Batiste and Silk Sonic, and asked his followers not to bad-mouth them.
He tweeted: “We love silk sonic!! We love Jon batiste!!! We love everyone who won tonight!! I don’t wanna see anyone talking any trash at ALL!! Nothing but love!! Talented musicians won tonight!! We were lucky to be nominated!! And lucky to perform!! (sic)”
Jon was the big winner of the night, taking home five golden gramophones in total, including the prestigious Album of the Year trophy for ‘We Are’.
Silk Sonic – Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak – went away with an equally as impressive haul, after they scooped Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R B Performance and Best R B Song for ‘Leave The Door Open’.
Finneas was also nominated for Producer of the Year (Non-Classical), which went to Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey collaborator Jack Antonoff.
Meanwhile, Billie wowed with her performance of ‘Happier Than Ever’ at the star-studded bash.
The 20-year-old singer paid tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins by donning a t-shirt with his face on during her set.
As she belted out the ballad, rain came falling down and she proudly held up her shirt to show she was honouring Taylor, who died aged 50 on March 25.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has once again taken aim at Harry Styles and his “worthless” music.
The former Oasis guitarist is of the opinion that any artists who found fame on the TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ – on which Harry’s band One Direction formed in 2010 – “have nothing to do with music whatsoever”.
According to the Daily Star newspaper’s WIRED column, Noel said: “‘The X Factor’ is a TV show, it’s got nothing to do with music, it’s got nothing to do with music whatsoever, and anything that has come from that, that’s got nothing to do with music.”
Speaking as Harry returned with his new solo single, ‘As It Was’, the 54-year-old rocker suggested ‘X Factor’ stars don’t work as hard as “real” musicians.
He added: “You’re not telling me Harry Styles is currently in a room somewhere writing a song.
“With any joy, he’ll be surrounded by a lot of girls.
“I can assure you he’s not got an acoustic guitar out trying to write a middle eight for something.”
In 2017, the ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter mocked the 28-year-old pop star’s single ‘Sign Of The Times’ and said a “cat could write that in 10 minutes”.
He moaned: “People of my age have let themselves go, they’re fat, balding idiots with fading tattoos.
“They sit in their garage and write s**** like ‘Sign Of The Times’ for Harry Styles. Which, quite frankly, my cat could have written in about 10 minutes!”
However, Noel’s wife Sara MacDonald, and his rival brother Liam Gallagher, 49, liked Harry’s hit.
The Britpop legend added: “My wife was falling over herself, ‘Have you heard Harry Styles’ new song? It’s like Prince’, I was like, ‘Without even hearing it, I can assure you it’s not like Prince.”
While his estranged sibling and former bandmate said in an interview when asked about ‘Sign Of The Times’: I don’t mind it, man. There’s some interesting bits in it. I mean, I don’t know how it f****** goes, but fair play to him.
“I’ve got the weight of Oasis still hanging over me and I’m sure I’ll always be that guy from Oasis, so I’m sure he’s carrying an equal weight.
“If he wants to get out of that pop world and into something with a bit more substance I think that’s a good thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jade Thirlwall admits it will be “very emotional” wrapping Little Mix’s last tour before their hiatus.
The 29-year-old pop star is feeling “nervous” about returning to the stage for ‘The Confetti Tour’ alongside bandmates Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock this weekend, for what marks the trio’s first run since 2019’s ‘LM5: The Tour’.
Speaking on Charli XCX’s Best Song Ever podcast on BBC Sounds, she confessed: “I am a bit nervous. It has been so long since I have been on a stage.
“I feel I am a bit . . . not out of shape, but we love to throw the kitchen sink in. We love a dance routine.”
The ‘Heartbreak Anthem’ hitmaker went on to admit that while emotions will be high when the girls play the last date at London’s The O2 arena on May 14, she accepts that “change has to happen in life”.
She added: “It is a weird phase of such a huge phase of my life. I’m sure the last night of the tour will be very emotional.
“Change has to happen in life, you have to embrace it and make those moves.”
Little Mix have insisted their break will not mark a permanent end for the group.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the band said: “We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix.
“It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects.
“We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much.
“We are not splitting up – Little Mix are here to stay. We have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future. We’ve made so many incredible memories with you all, and we can’t wait to make so many more.
“We’re sisters and we’ll always have each other and you, the fans, in our lives. Little Mix is forever. See you on tour! Jade, Leigh-Anne and Perrie x (sic)”
The group’s decision to take a break came after fourth member Jesy Nelson chose to leave the ‘Black Magic’ hitmakers – who were formed on ‘The X Factor’ in 2011, which they went on to win – in 2020 after citing a decline in her mental health.

OHMYGOSSIP — Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has revealed his daughter used his Grammy as a shovel in the garden.
The 59-year-old musician has shared the funny tale of his eldest offspring, Clara Balzary, now 33, sneaking the golden gramophone out of the house into the garden and using the horn as a tool when she was five.
Speaking on LA radio station KROQ, he said: “Grammys are awesome, but after we won our first Grammy, like three years later, my mom said, ‘Michael, where’s your Grammy?’, and I was like, ‘I don’t know, mom, I put it somewhere.’
“Months after that, my gardener came out of the backyard, in the garden, and you know how the Grammy looks like an old record player with the horn on it? My daughter had unscrewed it and was using it as a shovel for the garden. It had been out there in the dirt for the whole winter. It had been out in the dirt for the whole winter and stuff.”
The ‘By The Way’ hitmaker – who also has Sunny, 16, with ex Frankie Rayder – has won six Grammys with his bandmates, but admitted awards aren’t why he’s in music.
Asked how he celebrates career wins, he quipped: “I usually drop about six or seven hits of acid, get naked, paint my whole body in lipstick, and run down the street screaming like mad … It’s not really a celebration, I actually do that every day.”
RHCP recently returned with their new album, ‘Unlimited Love’, which looks set to top the charts in the UK this week, while they were recently honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The ‘Under the Bridge’ rockers – completed by frontman Anthony Kiedis, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante – were all present to accept the honour, and Flea said he was “grateful” to have received the star on the iconic tourist spot because the street has “always been a part of him.”
He said: “When I was in high school, I marched on this street playing trumpet in the Hollywood High marching band. … I know this street inside out, and this street knows me. And whenever we’ve travelled around the world, this street has always been a part of me. And I’m really grateful that now we can be a part of it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele, Ed Sheeran and Sam Fender are among the acts nominated at the Global Awards 2022.
The annual ceremony is returning on April 14 and will see the biggest names in music go head-to-head.
‘Easy On Me’ hitmaker Adele is set to contest Anne-Marie, Becky Hill, Doja Cat, Mimi Webb, Olivia Rodrigo, and Raye for Best Female, while the pop superstar is also up for Best British Act and Best Mass Appeal Artist.
Anne-Marie and Becky Hill have earned the most nominations, with four nods apiece.
As well as both being shortlisted for Best Female, Best Pop and Best British Act, Anne-Marie is up for Best Mass Appeal Artist and Becky is nominated for the Rising Star prize.
The ‘My Heart Goes’ hitmaker is up against Mimi Webb, Olivia Rodrigo, Tate Mcrae, Tom Grennan, A1 X J1, and Arrdee for the latter prize.
As for Ed, the chart-topper will contest Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, The Weeknd, Years Years, Joel Corry, Dave, Aitch and Arrdee for Best Male.
The ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker could also be crowned Best British Act and Best Mass Appeal Artist.
Sam Fender is up for Best British Act and Best Indie Act.
Coldplay, Dave, KSI, and Years Years are also among the contenders for Best British Act.
Little Mix are among the nominees for Best Group alongside Biffy Clyro, BTS, Coldplay, D-block Europe and Jonas Brothers.
Sir Elton John received a nod for Best Mass Appeal Artist, which will see the music legend go head-to-head with Adele, Coldplay
Ed and Anne-Marie.
The awards will also see the recipient of the Most Played Song on Global’s radio stations in 2022 announced.

OHMYGOSSIP — Radio 2 Live is moving from London’s Hyde Park to Leeds’ Temple Newsam Park this year.
The BBC radio station’s annual music festival is moving up north and doubling in size.
More than 20 artists – who will be unveiled in June – will descend on the sprawling park in West Yorkshire over two days; Saturday, September 17 and 18.
This year sees the introduction of the Radio 2 DJ Tent, where the presenters will be “playing classic tracks from Motown in the 60s to the present day.”
DJ Zoe Ball said: “It’s official! The news is OUT and I can tell you the whole Radio 2 family can’t wait to be in LEEDS this year for R2 Live. We are ready for two days of dancing and singing along with our fabulous listeners and some brilliant live acts. Personally, I’m giddy to get my groove on in the Radio 2 DJ Tent!”
Jeff Smith, Head of Music for Radio 2, said: “Following our month of brilliant Piano Room performances in February, we’re thrilled that Radio 2 Live will be held in Leeds, one of the great cities of the North. Live music is at the heart of the station so we can’t wait for us all to gather at Temple Newsam for two days of brilliant music, bringing everyone together to feel great!”
Councillor James Lewis, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “We’re incredibly excited to welcome Radio 2 Live to Temple Newsam and for people in Leeds to be able to look forward to performances from world class artists on their doorstep. Leeds has hosted some of the biggest names in music over the years, so it’s great to see the city carrying on that proud tradition and to be working with the organisers to bring another major and unique event to Leeds.”
Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park has hosted the biggest names in music over the years, including Sir Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Shania Twain, Take That and Blondie.
Radio 2 Live will be broadcast on the network and be available live and on demand on BBC Sounds and BBC iPlayer.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vamps are planning to re-record their hits.
The pop rock band – comprising Connor Ball, Brad Simpson, Tristan Evans and James Brittain-McVey – are set to revisit their old songs, including fan-favourites ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘Wild Heart’, for a new project to celebrate a decade together.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Brad said: “That time around the first album was special for us, so we want to celebrate that music and breathe new life into it. We’ve got some fun ideas about reinterpreting old songs.”
Meanwhile, the group are also putting on a special festival experience for fans in Barcelona, Spain, between May 6 and May 9.
The Pollen Weekender is giving fans the chance to “Mix cocktails with Brad at his masterclass, get on the water for Connor’s boat party, meet up with Tris for your Saturday brunch, and then get together with the whole band for a soundcheck party with a Q A session.”
Brad said: “The first day we are doing an acoustic show by the pool, the second is a DJ show and the third a full show.”
The 26-year-old star admitted his cocktail-making skills are limited, though.
He quipped: “I only know how to make about three or four cocktails so I hope I don’t get any rogue requests.”
The festival would no doubt appeal to The Vamps’ famous fan, Lewis Capaldi, who loves their music and enjoys a tipple.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker is believed to be an avid listener of the band.
Bassist Connor recently revealed the Scottish chart-topper once came up to the group at an afterparty and began singing the lyrics to one of their lesser-known album tracks.
He said: “We were at this afterparty with Lewis Capaldi and we were just chatting with him. We were just having a normal conversation and then, out of nowhere, he started screaming in mine and Brad’s ears this album track, off our first album. So like, not even a single, he just loves the song!”
