OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles is to headline BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2022 in Coventry on Sunday, May 29.
Radio 1’s flagship live music event will welcome an audience of 80,000 BBC Radio 1 fans to War Memorial Park from 27-29 May 2022 to watch some of the biggest acts on the planet take to the stage including Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, KSI, Calvin Harris, and Anne-Marie.
A small number of tickets have been held back for fans of Harry, 28, which will go on sale at 5pm on Monday (25.04.22) with Pa Salieu and Rina Sawayama also joining the star-studded line-up.
Speaking about playing the festival, Salieu said: “Excited to be finally performing in my home town Coventry as part of Radio 1’s Big Weekend. I know the Coventry crowd will do our city proud and show all the other artists the energy of the Midlands.”
Rina added: “I cannot wait to come and play at Radio 1’s Big Weekend for the first time!! It’s going to be such a moment.”
Performances from Radio 1’s Big Weekend will air on BBC Radio 1 across Friday (27.05.22), Saturday (28.04.22) and Sunday and will be available to watch live and on demand on Radio 1’s BBC iPlayer channel and on BBC Sounds.
BBC One will also broadcast a highlights show as well as a special Harry Styles show – full details will be announced soon.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has reportedly recorded a song for the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ soundtrack.
The 36-year-old pop superstar has written ‘Hold My Hand’ for the eagerly anticipated fighter plane action sequel, which sees Tom Cruise reprise his role as Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from the original 1986 blockbuster.
Gaga is set to release the “epic” anthem as a single in May and it is already being tipped for a possible Best Original Song Oscar at the 2023 Academy Awards.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “‘Hold My Hand’ is Gaga at her best. It was due out at the end of this month but bosses pushed the release back slightly. The video was finished a while ago.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if, come next year, Gaga has got herself another Best Original Song nod from the Academy.”
Gaga previously took home the Best Original Song prize at the 2019 Oscars for ‘Shallow’, which she recorded with Bradley Cooper for their acclaimed romantic drama ‘A Star Is Born’.
The ‘Just Dance’ singer is currently preparing for her ‘Chromatica Ball’ world tour which kicks off at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany, on July 17.
The show is set to feature both fan-favourite hits along with brand new performances of songs from Gaga’s 2020 album ‘Chromatica’, for which she won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2021.
Also, $1 from each ticket sold to a US show will be donated to her Born This Way Foundation. The foundation supports “young people” to “build communities that provide approachable resources, foster genuine connections and drive action”.

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra, Harry Styles and KSI have all been announced as performers for Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard.
The trio of pop superstars plus Becky Hill, Anne-Marie, Sigala, GAYLE, ArrDee and Eddie Benjamin were revealed as the first names to be playing the music extravaganza by the ‘Capital Breakfast’ team Roman Kemp, Sonny Jay and Sian Welby this morning.
The event takes place at London’s Wembley Stadium on Sunday, June 12, following a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The launch of ‘Capital’s Summertime Ball with Barclaycard 2022’ continues on Tuesday (26.04.22) on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp from 7am, when Roman, Sonny and Sian will reveal the second set of artists joining the star-studded line-up.

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish will remember her Damon Albarn collaboration “for the rest of her life”.
The ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker was joined by the Blur legend at Coachella on Saturday night (23.04.22) for a performance of ‘Getting Older’ before they treated fans to a rendition of his Gorillaz hit ‘Feel Good Inc’, and she has reflected on the magical moment on social media.
Sharing snaps of the show on Instagram, she wrote: “i will be thinking about these moments for the rest of my life. no one will ever know the lengths of the love i have for damon and everything that he is and has done for music and art.
“very few things have ever impacted me the way that HE HAS. oHHHHHHHH JEEEEEEEEEESSSS was this soooo insane for me… (sic)”
The 20-year-old singer also teamed up with Paramore star Hayley Williams on Sunday (24.04.22), first playing an acoustic version of ‘Misery Business’ before pairing up again for show-closing track ‘Happier Than Ever’.
Billie described Hayley as her “favorite girl” on Instagram, and summed up her Coachella experience as a whole as she wrote: “my heart is fullllll (sic)”
The performance marked Hayley’s first appearance at the music festival and she shared her delight with the crowd saying: “This is my first Coachella, whoa.”
The pair finished the performance with a hug, with Hayley telling the star: ”Thanks for sharing this with me. This is sick!”
Billie then added: “Absolutely what on Earth could be cooler than that? I’m dead serious.”
The choice of song may have come as a surprise to fans as Hayley had previously announced her band would no longer be performing the track.
She suggested some of the lyrics no longer felt appropriate and vowed to “move away” from the tune.
Speaking at a Paramore show back in 2018, Hayley explained: “This is a choice we made because we feel like we should.
“We feel like it’s time to move away from it for a little while.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Psy is to release a new single.
The ‘Gangnam Style’ hitmaker is to drop new tune ‘Take That’, which will feature on his forthcoming album ‘Psy 9th’.
Psy’s new song will be released on Friday (29.04.22), and it is produced by BTS’ Suga.
The 44-year-old singer admitted 29-year-old Suga “truly feels like a friend” after the pair worked well together.
In a teaser ahead of the new single, he said: “When meeting younger artists, I don’t want to be someone who’s hard to approach.
“[Suga] wasn’t just my junior in the business, but also he truly feels like a friend. It was hard to feel any age gap.”
Suga admitted he had felt “nervous” about teaming up with Psy because he is “so well-respected in the business”, but they have developed a close friendship.
Suga added: “[It] felt like working with a childhood friend, so it made the songwriting process that much more fun. We became besties in a way.”
Psy is best known for his 2012 international hit single ‘Gangnam Style’, which took the world by storm due to its catchy beat and attracted plenty of attention for the star’s energetic dancing in the song’s music video.
He won several awards for the track and the subsequent video, including Best Video at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Musician of the Year at the Korean Music Awards, and the New Media Award at the American Music Awards.
The tune appeared on Psy’s ‘Psy 6 (Six Rules), Part 1’ record.
The star’s new record will be his eighth studio album, following the likes of ‘4X2=8’, ‘Chiljip Psy-da’, and ‘PsyFive’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Heather Small has announced her first album in 16 years, ‘Colour My Life’.
The Voice of M People is back with the new single, ‘Love Me or Not’, taken from her first studio effort in more than a decade, named after the 90s dance band’s second single from their 1991 debut LP ‘Northern Soul’.
For the upcoming collection, released on July 29, the 57-year-old singer-songwriter teamed up with studio wizard Rupert Christie and the London Metropolitan Orchestra to reimagine all of her Top 10 hits from her tenure with M People and Heather’s successful solo career.
Fans can expect orchestral versions of the hits; ‘Moving on Up’, ‘How Can I Love You More’, ‘Search For The Hero’, ‘One Night in Heaven’, ‘Don’t Look Any Further’, and the title track.
The collection will also include a brand new cover of Paul Weller’s ‘You Do Something To Me’, ‘Love Me or Not’, and ‘Don’t Look Any Further’, a duet with tenor Alfie Boe.
With M People, Heather sold 11 million records worldwide, won two BRIT Awards and the Mercury Prize for 1994’s ‘Elegant Slumming’.
News of the new solo album – a follow-up to 2006’s ‘Close to a Miracle’ and 2000’s ‘Proud’ – comes after Heather embarked on a sold-out tour of the UK.
And the ‘Holding On’ hitmaker has a packed summer ahead, with festival appearances including Camp Bestival, Splendour and The Isle of Wight Festival.

OHMYGOSSIP — Hard-Fi have announced their first live show in eight years.
The ‘Hard to Beat’ hitmakers’ original line-up – comprising Richard Archer, Steve Kemp, Kai Stephens and Ross Phillips – will reunite to play the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London on October 1.
The indie rockers last performed together in 2014, when they released the ‘Hard-Fi: Best Of 2004-2014’ greatest hits LP.
What’s more, the band hinted new music is on the way.
Frontman Richard, 45, said: “It’s fair to say it’s been a while since we’ve all played together so we’re all really excited to be getting on stage again and seeing some of our incredible fans.
“It’s a Saturday night so hopefully we can recapture the spirit of those gigs back in the day. We may even throw out one or two new numbers into the mix. The Forum is one the classic venues to play, so it’s going to be a special night for everyone.”
Support will come from Roots Manuva and Deemas i collaborator, Wrong Tom, set to hit the decks.
Hard-Fi will also put on a livestream concert on Facebook on Thursday evening (28.04.22).
The lead singer told fans on Facebook Live: “Any of you who have tuned in to any of our previous livestream attempts will know they’ve always been a slight, complete balls-up, but generally fairly entertaining hopefully.
“So next Thursday we’re gonna do a full band from our Cherry Lips studio, livestream it, 9pm.
“We’re gonna play three or four numbers, maybe. Hopefully we can remember all the chords, hopefully I can remember all the words.”
Richard performed a solo livestream charity gig in lockdown and sparked speculation the group could get back together when he performed their acclaimed LP ‘Stars Of CCTV’ in full.
Hard-Fi formed in 2003 and had hits with ‘Hard to Beat’, ‘Living for the Weekend’ and ‘Cash Machine’.
Their 2005 debut album, ‘Stars Of CCTV’, was nominated for the Mercury Prize.
The record did not reach No1 on the UK Albums Chart until six months later, in January 2006.
The band’s second album, ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’, shot straight to No1 in the first week of its release.

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat’s song ‘Vegas’ from the upcoming ‘ELVIS’ biopic is set to be released on May 6.
The ‘Say So’ hitmaker has incorporated the late King of Rock and Roll’s mega-hit ‘Hound Dog’ into the new track from the upcoming ‘ELVIS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack’; the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann’s forthcoming film, which hits cinemas on June 24.
Doja gave the song its live debut at Coachella recently and brought out Nashville musician Yola, who portrays Sister Rosetta Tharpe in ‘ELVIS’.
Austin Butler plays the ‘Jailhouse Rock’ hitmaker, while Tom Hanks stars as his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
A press release states: “The soundtrack features Elvis’s extraordinary body of work spanning the 1950s, 60s and 70s, while also celebrating his diverse musical influences and enduring impact on popular artists today.”
It added: “‘ELVIS’ is an epic, big-screen spectacle from visionary filmmaker Luhrmann that explores the life and music of Elvis Presley through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker.”
It’s hoped the soundtrack will boost streaming figures for Elvis’ back catalogue, just like the 2018 Queen biopic ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ did for the ‘We Are The Champions’ hitmakers.
Meanwhile, Universal Music Publishing Group just acquired the rights to the icon’s discography.
The music publishing giant teamed up with Authentic Brands Group in a deal to represent Elvis’ catalogue.
Marc Cimino, Chief Operating Officer at UMPG, said in a statement: “Elvis Presley has had an unprecedented and lasting global impact on music and pop culture. Jody Gerson and I, along with UMPG’s teams around the world, couldn’t be more excited and honored to work with ABG in making sure that Elvis’ iconic legacy endures for generations to come.”
The pop culture icon – who died of a heart attack, aged 42, in 1977, after struggling with addiction – sold more than 500 million records during his career.

OHMYGOSSIP — Abbey Road Studios is set to honour photographer Eric Johnson at the first-ever Abbey Road Studios Music Photography Awards 2022, in association with Hennessy.
The New York-based photographer is best known for his photographs of Biggie Smalls, Nas, Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill and the late Aaliyah in the late ’90s and early 2000s.
In recent times, Eric has snapped rap stars of the moment, including Doja Cat and Shygirl.
The inaugural Music Photography Awards will take place on May 14 at Abbey Road.
Eric said of the accolade: “It’s super surreal being the first recipient of the Abbey Road Studios Music Photography ICON Award. I’m super low-key by nature and through all of these years it never dawned on me that after taking all of these pics that ultimately it would all come back to me. That people would be curious about me. I kinda knew that my photos would stand the test of time but being considered an ICON wasn’t anything I really thought about. Wow!!! I’m into it.
“Having such a diverse group of talented artists recognise my work is really what it’s all about. This is a curious industry we’re in. It’s been like a rollercoaster ride and this acknowledgement is such a high. It makes me feel like ‘Wow, I’ve really been right and onto something from the beginning and people are really recognising this. It’s AWESOME and inspires me to keep pushing even more. I wanna keep creating imagery that the culture really feels.

Abbey Road’s Managing Director Isabel Garvey commented: “The judging panel wanted the recipient of our first MPAs ‘Icon Award’ to be a photographer whose impact and contribution to the art of music photography has been pronounced and unparalleled and we have no doubt that Eric meets these criteria.
“We’re delighted that Eric has accepted the award as his work throughout his career to date has been some of the most vital and memorable in music photography.”
The new awards are part of Abbey Road’s 90th anniversary, and will “honour the images that capture the magic of live music, the creative process, and the exciting music scenes and movements taking place across the world. The awards will recognise photographers at all levels – whether established, emerging or undiscovered – via open-entry categories, as well as categories chosen by an esteemed judging panel made up of artists, photographers and influential names across the global music and photography industries.”
Alongside the open categories (Studio, Live, Championing Scenes, and Undiscovered Photographer of the Year) for which entries are now closed, there are four invited category awards, with the nominees and winners chosen by the official judging panel. The invited categories are titled Icon, Portrait, Editorial, and Artist at Work.
The judging panel is chaired by photographer, publisher and director Rankin (John Rankin Waddell). It also includes Rockarchive founder Jill Furmanovsky, artist Moses Sumney, photographer Dana Scruggs, Rolling Stone’s deputy photo director Sacha Lecca, and Abbey Road’s Isabel Garvey.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has a new collaboration with US TikTok star Russ coming out this summer.
The 29-year-old American rapper has let slip that the pair have a new song on the way produced by BRIT Award-winner Fred Again.
Speaking to BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Reece Parkinson today (26.04.22), Russ teased: “The Ed Sheeran thing is crazy so … Ed Sheeran is just the greatest guy ever. If anyone ever has the pleasure to meet Ed Sheeran, he’s just the most genuine guy ever … We have a song and it’s insane. That’s what I’mma say…we have a song and it’s INSANE!”
Asked if it will be a summer song, he replied: “Yeah that’s the plan.”
Russ added: “His guy, Fred Again, produced it.”
Russ was recently spotted hanging out with the ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker at the pub with pals Big Narstie and Chunkz.
The label owner – who went viral on TikTok after releasing a remix of his song ‘Handsomer’ featuring Ktlyn Raps – has already worked with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ty Dolla $ign, Rick Ross, and Mahalia.
Ed recently explained that he has planned lots of collaborations for this year because being a solo artist can be a “lonely” experience.
He explained: “This year is actually going to end up being busier than last year, which I’m really excited about. There’s a lot coming out.
“I’ve wanted to span genres. I had a load of people hit me up in different genres, ranging from metal to drill music, and I just said yes to everything. It’s been a really interesting collaborative process.”
The ‘Perfect’ hitmaker has plans to work with a number of big-name artists, as he continues to push his own boundaries.
And the ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker – who has previously collaborated with the likes of Stormzy, Taylor Swift, Bring Me The Horizon and Camila Cabello – gets a real buzz from joining forces with other musicians.
He added: “It’s quite lonely being a solo artist sometimes and it’s quite exciting, like I did a session this morning at 7am with a guy called Kodak Black who’s from America and after that I did a session with a guy called Kwengface who’s from Peckham.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs has been diagnosed with tonsil cancer.
The 56-year-old guitarist – who was a founding member of Oasis – has confirmed the news via Twitter, explaining that he’ll take a break from his music career while he undergoes “a course of treatment”.
He wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “Just to let you all know I’m going to be taking a break from playing for a while.
“I’ve been diagnosed with tonsil cancer, but the good news is it’s treatable and I’ll be starting a course of treatment soon.”
Bonehead is now set to miss all of his scheduled gigs this summer, including Liam Gallagher’s much-anticipated return to Knebworth in June.
He added on Twitter: “I’ll keep you posted how it’s going, I’m gutted I’m missing the gigs with Liam and the band. Have the best summer and enjoy the gigs if you’re going, I’ll see you soon xxx (sic)”
Liam, 49, has already taken to Twitter to show his support for Bonehead.
The former Oasis frontman wrote: “Sending BIG love to the 1 n only Bonehead and his family wishing you a speedy recovery we’re all thinking of you rasta you’ll be back on stage bfore you can say r we doing Colombia LG x (sic)”
Andy Bell, another former Oasis star, has also sent his best wishes to Bonehead.
He wrote: “Get well soon Bone. (sic)”
Bonehead quit Oasis in 1999, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family.
However, he’s kept working with Liam over the years, including in his band Beady Eye and on other solo projects.
The former Oasis duo performed together at Liam’s sets at Reading and Leeds festivals in 2021.

OHMYGOSSIP — Earth, Wind and Fire saxophonist Andrew Woolfolk has died at the age of 71.
The musician has spent the last six years battling an illness and Woolfolk passed away on Sunday (24.04.22).
Philip Bailey, his former bandmate, wrote on Instagram: “I met him in High School, and we quickly became friends and band mates. Andrew Paul Woolfolk was his name. We lost him today, after being ill of over 6 years. He has Transitioned on to the forever, from this Land of the dying to the Land of the Living.
“Great memories. Great Talent. Funny. Competitive. Quick witted. And always styling.
“Booski… I’ll see you on the other side, my friend. (sic)”
Drummer John Paris – who has performed with the band since 2001 – has also taken to the photo-sharing platform to pay tribute to the saxophonist.
Alongside a throwback photo of Woolfolk, he wrote on Instagram: “Rest well brother Andrew [prayer and heart emojis] (sic)”
Woolfolk joined the iconic group in the early 1970s and although the line-up changed numerous times over the years, he officially remained part of the band until 1993.
He also worked with the likes of Deniece Williams, Phil Collins and Stanley Turrentine during his career.
Earth, Wind and Fire were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, and during the ceremony, Woolfolk performed a memorable solo on ‘Shining Star’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sandé has opened up about her new girlfriend on her upcoming album.
The 35-year-old singer – who recently came out and revealed she is dating female classical pianist Yoana Karemova – has written about her romance on the track ‘My Pleasure’, which features on her soon-to-be-released record ‘Let’s Say For Instance’.
As reported by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, she sings: “You’re the only one my heart beats for, never been in love like this before.
“You know you’re the one that I adore.”
The track also sees Emeli described Yoana as her “greatest treasure”.
Reflecting on their relationship, she sings: “Where to start? Hand on heart, everything about you is a work of art.
“Angel eyes, butterflies, every time I’m around you I’m in paradise.
“See you came into my life and turned my sky blue. If there’s any way at all that I could thank you, it would be my pleasure.”
The couple have also teamed up on an instrumental track called ‘July 25’.
During a playback, Emeli explained: “The interlude you heard is actually the first piece Yoana and I have written together.
“It’s just nice to have that mark on there on the music.
“I love that it takes me to another world when I hear it. It was a pleasure to work with her.”
The ‘Read All About It’ hitmaker – who was previously married to marine biologist Adam Gouraguine between 2012 and 2014 and had a brief romance with rapper Jonathan Kabamba, which ended in 2020 – revealed her relationship with Loana last month.
She said: “We met through music. And I definitely feel happier than ever. It feels great.
“For me, true love and having love in your life makes everything fit into place.”
Asked if their romance means she is bisexual, she replied: “I’m not sure what I identify as but I guess so. I just feel like I should fall in love with whoever I fall in love with.”

OHMYGOSSIP — YUNGBLUD and Willow have teased an upcoming collaboration.
The ‘Funeral’ rocker and the ‘Lipstick’ singer have revealed they have something on the way for fans on May 6.
Sharing a clip of Willow lighting YUNGBLUD’s cigarette, the latter captioned the Instagram video: “somethins comin may 6th … u ready? (sic)”
Willow also shared the same clip on her own page and shared two promo snaps of the pair.
The musicians previously teased fans by sharing a picture of them in the studio together back in December.
What’s more, YUNGBLUD recently admitted he would love to collaborate with Willow, as he teased some “cool” features on his next album.
He said: “There’s a lot of cool artists I’m working with on this next record. I’ve made a lot of friends. I made a lot of mates on this journey.
“I love what Willow Smith’s doing right now. I’m obsessed with Girl in Red.
“There’s a new wave of artists who are talking from their soul and their reality.
“You know what I’m saying? I ain’t confirming anything but I would certainly love to work with them.”
The ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ rocker – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – also teased that his follow-up to 2020’s ‘weird!’ is “completely uncensored, completely outrageously”.
The ‘Fleabag’ hitmaker is known for his honest and vulnerable lyrics and admitted his fans will be “shocked” by his third studio effort, because it’s “the most personal music” he’s ever made.
He said in January: “I’ve been in London. I’ve been making kind of the third record and I’m just so excited about it. This is, for me, the most personal music I’ve ever written.
“And I think people are going to be a bit shocked about that because all my other music is pretty personal.
“I think I just need to say it as it is completely uncensored, completely outrageously. And I think this is what this album’s doing. You know what I mean? That’s what I do.
“And my favourite songs I’ve ever released are the songs that do that. So, you know what I mean? Get ready.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Machine Gun Kelly is returning to rap on his next album.
After scoring No.1s with pop-punk records ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ and ‘Mainstream Sellout’, the 32-year-old star is returning to his roots.
The ‘Bloody Valentine’ hitmaker insisted he wants people to “miss” his pop-punk sound, while he hopes to “expand” his “storytelling as a rapper” and pick up where he left off with his 2019 LP ‘Hotel Diablo’.
During an Audacy Music interview, MGK – whose real name is Colson Baker – spilled: “I’m going to make a rap album for myself, for no other reason, no point to prove, no chip on my shoulder. If I keep doing things to prove things to people, I’m going to one: drive myself crazy, and two: not make a good product. I made ‘Tickets’ and ‘Mainstream Sellout’ because I wanted to make them. I need to now also make people miss that sound. […] I’m going to do this tour and I’m gonna step into where I left ‘Hotel Diablo’ and expand on my storytelling as a rapper and find a new innovative sound for the hip-hop Machine Gun Kelly. That’s where my excitement is and where me as a music archaeologist wants to explore.”
Meanwhile, MGK previously said he hopes the pop punk revival will encourage others to follow their dreams.
He said: “Don’t let people douse your dreams with their fears, because your fire should run free. There’s someone right now who has the potential to be the greatest ever, who is being told it’s the dumbest idea to pursue a dream because the person looking at them was too scared to pursue theirs. It’s the same thing with people in the rock genre who don’t want to embrace me, or act like I don’t belong. … I’m not letting that narrative stick. I’m not letting people continue to f****** bully me out of doing something that has been true to me forever.”
