OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott has been added to the lineup for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards.
The hip-hop star just performed his first public gig since 10 people were killed at his Astroworld music festival in Texas last November.
The rapper – who is dating beauty mogul Kylie Jenner – took to the stage at the E11EVEN nightclub in Miami, Florida to deliver a 45-minute set in the early hours of Sunday morning (08.05.22).
And this Sunday (15.05.22), the controversial star is set to take to the stage at the ceremony at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, in what marks his first high-profile appearance since the tragedy.
The 31-year-old music star is also nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Song for the remix of ‘Goosebumps’ by HVME.
The latest additions to the bill also include Ed Sheeran and Becky G, while Elle King and Miranda Lambert will perform a duet.
The likes of Mary J. Blige, Megan Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, Silk Sonic and Red Hot Chili Peppers were previously confirmed.
At the weekend, Travis started the night in the DJ booth before grabbing the mic and performing hits including ‘Sicko Mode’, ‘Goosebumps’ and ‘Antidote’.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six column, Travis threw money into the audience and said: “Everybody owes me a shot … we need every stripper to report to the f****** stage right now. We need every bottle reported to this motherf****** floor.”
During the set, Travis also performed the track ‘Dubai S***’ with rapper/singer Quavo.
TMZ reported that he played to a star-studded crowd that included will.i.am, Logan Paul, Busta Rhymes, Future, and Kylie’s ex-boyfriend Tyga.
Travis was thrust into the spotlight last year after eight crowd members died in a terrifying crush during the first night of his event at the NRG Park in Houston in November 2021.
Two more revellers died from their injuries in hospital in the days after the event, while 300 gig-goers were left injured.
Travis has done a number of low-key performances over the last few months – he previously performed a short guest appearance at a Coachella afterparty on April 17. He also played at a private pre-Oscars party in Bel-Air on March 26.
He’s also set to head the Primavera Festival in South America, which visits countries including Brazil, Chile and Argentina. Travis will play three shows in November alongside singer Lorde. Other acts on the bill for the festival include Arctic Monkeys and Bjork. According to TMZ, Travis plans to book more shows over the summer.

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has broken his tie with Ariana Grande and BTS to be crowned the artist with the most No.1 debuts on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Until his latest hit with Future, ‘Wait for U’, stormed to the top of the US chart, the rapper was in joint place with the pop megastar and K-Pop boy band.
However, he now has six No.1 debuts to his name, with ‘Wait for U’ joining ‘God’s Plan’, ‘Nice for What’, ‘Toosie Slide’, ‘What’s Next’ and ‘Way 2 Sexy’.
The hip-hop star has a total of 10 No.1 hits on the chart.
Ariana made Billboard chart history with five No. 1 debuts towards the end of 2020, including ‘7 Rings’, ‘Thank U, Next’, ‘Stuck With U’ with Justin Bieber, ‘Rain On Me’ with Lady Gaga, and ‘Positions’.
As for BTS, they shot straight to the top of the Hot 100 with ‘Dynamite’, ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Butter’, ‘Permission to Dance’, and most recently, ‘My Universe’ with Coldplay.
Drake smashing yet another chart record comes after it was revealed that the ‘Nonstop’ rapper re-signed with Universal Music Group in a deal said to be worth a whopping $400 million.
UMG’s chairman Sir Lucian Grainge confirmed the Grammy winner inked an “expansive, multi-faceted deal” covering “recordings, publishing, merchandise and visual media projects” during the firm’s latest earnings call.
Variety reported that the deal was signed off in 2021, and a source told the publication it’s “Lebron-sized”.
The 35-year-old superstar – who has sold more than 37 million albums worldwide – had previously hinted at his riches from his deal in his lyrics.
On ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle’ from 2021’s ‘Scary Hours 2’ EP, he raps: “Three-sixty upfront, it all comes full circle,” suggesting he landed a $360 million paycheque.
And on Migos’ ‘Having Our Way’, he spits: “Billionaires talk to me different when they see my pay stub from Lucian Grainge.”
Drake’s mega-money deal came after The Weeknd – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – agreed a similar deal.

OHMYGOSSIP — Biffy Clyro were forced to cancel the last date of their North American tour “due to an illness within the band”.
The Scottish rock outfit – comprising Simon Neil and brothers James and Ben Johnston – were “devastated” to have to pull out of their planned performance at The Belasco Theatre in downtown Los Angeles on Monday night (09.05.22), but have promised to make it up to their LA fans.
A social media statement read: “We are devastated to announce that we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel tonight’s show in Los Angeles due to an illness within the band.
“We were really looking forward to playing in Los Angeles at the end of a great USA tour and promise we will make it up to you. Love, Simon, James and Ben x.”
The ‘Bubbles’ rockers – who released their ninth studio album, ‘The Myth Of The Happily Ever After’, in October – did not disclose which member of the band is poorly.
Support band Dead Poet Society sent their well-wishes to them.
Re-sharing the statement to their social media pages, the Boston rockers added: “We hope everyone in Biffy’s camp is safe and resting up.
“It was an honor to tour with such an insanely talented band.
“They are great guys and we had an amazing time.
“Thank you for the opportunity! Rest up guys! (sic)”
The 15-city tour kicked off on April 17 in Chicago.

OHMYGOSSIP — Duran Duran will reunite with former guitarist Andy Taylor at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
The ‘Wild Boys’ hitmakers are set to be honoured alongside the likes of Dolly Parton, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Judas Priest and Carly Simon at the induction ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 5.
And frontman Simon Le Bon – who is joined by Roger Taylor, Nick Rhodes and John Taylor in the current lineup of the new wave band – has revealed Andy and former guitarist and bassist Warren Cuccurullo have been asked to reunite with them for their performance at the induction.
Simon said: “I’ve already had a definite yes from Andy.
“He’s definitely up for it. I’m pretty sure Warren [Cuccurullo, former guitarist/bassist] will want to do it … We’ve always maintained a decent relationship with these guys. We didn’t have so-called ‘acrimonious splits.’ It was gentlemanly and it was understood. And pretty much mutual.”
Andy first quit the group in 1986, before he returned in 2000 and left for good six years later.
Warren had a stint as guitarist and backing vocalist between 1989 and 2001, and was a touring guitarist between 1986 and 1989. He later had a stint as the group’s bassist from 1997 until 2001.
Simon added to Rolling Stone: “We’ve got Andy on the first three albums, so you have songs like ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ and ‘Rio’ and ‘Planet Earth.’
“[Cuccurullo] was a very important part of ‘The Wedding Album’, which had ‘Ordinary World’ and ‘Come Undone’ on it. We’re not struggling for good songs, that’s for sure.”
Andy has been performing with Reef recently and has his own solo projects, while he has previously co-produced for Sir Rod Stewart and written for Belinda Carlisle.
And Simon recently admitted it was bizarre seeing his ex-bandmate perform Duran Duran’s hit ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ with a different singer, but he’s glad to see his pal working.
He said: “I send him texts.
“I watched him play some Duran Duran tracks on Chris Evans’s show and even though it was weird watching him play ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ with another singer, I was so happy to see him working and involved in music because he’s such a great musician.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones’ session musicians were so high on drugs they couldn’t remember playing on the band’s classic ‘Exile On Main St.’ album, it has been claimed.
Martin Fry, 64, from pop band ‘ABC’ said the landmark double album – released 50 years ago this week – was “obviously” produced by people who took a lot of illegal substances.
He said: “It’s my favourite Stones album, such a bizarre and funky record with so much diversity, from ‘Tumbling Dice’ to the almost gospel of ‘I Just Want to See His Face’.
“There’s a carefree magic unburdened by their status as world’s biggest rock band.
“It’s not particularly commercial, but it’s elegant and beautiful. Mick Jagger’s lyrics are fantastic.
“It’s not a good times record. It’s questioning and paranoid. It sounds like they’ve been through a kaleidoscope.
“In that period people obviously took a lot of drugs, and some would just show up and forget they played on it. I’m still trying to unravel it.”
Martin spoke to The Guardian newspaper along with other musicians who paid tribute to the drug-fuelled album, released 12 May, 1972.
Grammy-nominated singer Valerie June, 40, added in the piece she feels ‘Exile’ is still relevant in the context of today’s drug abuse in America.
She said: “As someone raised in the African American south, the gospel and blues influences are so rich for me. I love the slow build of ‘Shine a Light’ and the bass.
“The song’s about Brian Jones but also about drug addiction. To me, 50 years later, it speaks to today’s opioid crisis in America and shines a light for them.”
The Rolling Stones guitarist Brian died aged 27 in 1969 when he drowned in a swimming pool after years of drug abuse.
Recorded during a string of hedonistic months in a cavernous villa on the Cðte d’Azur in France, ‘Exile on Main St.’ has been hailed ‘The Rolling Stones’’ sprawling masterpiece.
The 2010 documentary ‘Stones in Exile’ about the making of the double record highlighted how drug use was rife during its making.
Saxophonist Bobby Keys, who died aged 70 in 2014 and played on ‘Exile’ declared in the film: “Hell, yeah, there was some pot around, there was some whiskey bottles around, there was scantily clad women. Hell, it was rock ‘n’ roll.”
The film also referenced guitarist Keith Richards’ rampant drug use during the making of the album, when he was deep in a heroin addiction.
Singer Jennifer Herrema, 55, told The Guardian about one of the album’s standout tracks: “‘Torn and Frayed’ is such a beautiful song, seemingly about Keith Richards. ‘Doctor prescribes drug store supplies / Who’s gonna help him to kick it?’
“He is a torn and frayed dude.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A fan gave birth at Metallica’s concert in Brazil at the weekend.
Heavily pregnant tattooist Joice M. Figueiró was attending the heavy metallers’ concert at the Estádio Couto Pereira Stadium in Curitiba on Saturday (07.05.22) when she started having contractions amid their set.
The gig-goer, who was 39 weeks pregnant, didn’t make it to the hospital and her son, who she named Luan Figueiró, arrived into the world at 11.15pm to the thunderous sounds of ‘Enter Sandman’.
Sharing a picture of the newborn on Instagram, the new mom wrote in a translated caption: “When would I imagine that I would be at the Metallica show at 39 weeks pregnant and this boy decides to be born right there, three songs before the show ends, at Couto Pereira to the sound of ‘Enter Sandman’?”
Joice is not the only one who will never forget a Metallica show, as the band’s own drummer Lars Ulrich recently admitted he still gets chills over their first concert.
The 58-year-old sticksman – who made his debut on stage as a founding member of the ‘Nothing Else Matters’ group in 1982 – reflected on the buzz he felt getting behind his kit that night.
He recalled: “Well, the interesting thing about that first gig was it was just Metallica, on a Sunday night at Radio City in Anaheim, California.
“And on the very first song, ‘Hit The Lights’, Dave Mustaine broke a guitar string, and so the space between the first song and the second song seemed like a never-ending eternity. It felt like my whole life!
“I was just sitting up there trying to hide behind these drums. It was the strangest thing.
“But Dave got the guitar back together and we ended up playing the rest of the set. But there was a significant lull there. Trust me, I start shivering just talking about it now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Luno presents All Points East Festival has teamed up with Ray-Ban to host a trio of intimate gigs in London.
The ‘Ray-Ban X APE present The Summer Sessions’ will kick off on May 26, with Sherelle headlining Colour Factory in Hackney Wick, London.
The DJ-and-producer will be joined by Nia Archives – who was crowned Best Producer at the BandLab NME Awards earlier this year – musician and visual/audio artist LCY and Foundation FM.
KOKO in Camden will play host to Kenny Beats and more on June 8, and Self Esteem is playing Earth at Dalston on July 14.
AEG Presents commented: “Ray-Ban has been a partner of Luno presents All Points East since its launch in 2018 and we’re really pleased to develop our relationship further with these intimate shows this summer. The festival is going to be a huge celebration of music and we’re delighted to have Ray-Ban partner with us again on the West Stage across both weekends.”
The concerts are also making an effort to be as environmentally-friendly as possible.
A press release notes: “Each night, BMW will be plugging into All Points East’s sustainability policies, with a fleet of all-electric BMW iX providing artist transportation, actively reducing each event’s carbon footprint.”
Nia and Self Esteem are already supporting Gorillaz when they play APE at London’s Victoria Park on August 19.
APE Presents: Field Day is back on August 20, with The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk co-headlining.
Tame Impala headline on August 25, The National on August 26, dance duo Disclosure on August 27, followed by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds on August 28.

The ice cream company have announced the return of their beloved summer music event, which has been renamed from Sundaes On The Common in honour of its new home at Hastings Pier, and will the gig will take place on 6 August.
Joining the ‘Back to Life’ hitmakers on the bill are the likes of Maribou State, Poppy Ajudha, Jyoty, Frankie Stew Harvey Gunn, and Porij, while more artists will be announced in due course.
There’ll be plenty of free ice cream for revellers to tuck into thanks to Ben Jerry’s new Sundaes range – which includes Cookie Vermont-ster, Hazel-nuttin’ but Chocolate, Oh My! Banoffee Pie! and Non-Dairy Berry Revolutionary – and there’ll also be themed attractions including a Banoffee Pie ball pit and a huge Cookie Dough climbing wall.
Tickets will cost just £5, with all proceeds being donated to local charity The Refugee Buddy Project.

OHMYGOSSIP — Emeli Sandé wants to “heal people through music” after the pandemic.
The 35-year-old singer – whose latest record ‘Let’s Say For Instance’ was released on May 6 – admitted she’d been thinking about her friends working as doctors during the global health crisis, and wanted to do what she could to help.
Appearing on ‘The Rebecca Judd Show’ on Apple Music 1, she said: “I really want to give people release with the music and definitely during lockdown, because I used to study medicine.
“I have a lot of friends who are now doctors and obviously we’re talking about the NHS so much, the frontline workers.
“I was like, ‘Whoa, what is my use? Music is a wonderful thing for entertaining and it’s… I’m privileged and I love to make music. It’s great for me, but what am I actually giving to people, and how can I heal through the music?’
“So, that was something that was always on my mind. Through the music, how can I connect and heal and give something beyond entertainment?”
Emeli revealed her goal was give people “a bit of freedom” through listening to the record, and take them on a journey.
She added: “I just want to give people a headspace from the beginning of the album to the end, just a bit of freedom and a place where they can feel encouraged, inspired, and also just have a bit of fun.”
Meanwhile, the title of the album came from a desire to “inspire thought and being in control of your destiny”.
She explained: “I think a lot of people get stuck in depression or low vibrations because they just don’t think a better or brighter future is possible.
“So, I was like, ‘Okay, let’s say for instance it is.’ Forget all the things that will… logically it’s not going to happen, it’s… Let’s say for instance, you do deserve a great life. Let’s say for instance, you do deserve love in your life.
“The future is going to be amazing. Let’s just say for instance, so it can just place that little bit of that spec of hope in someone’s head and then we move forward.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kalush Orchestra thinks that representing Ukraine at Eurovision is “the highest responsibility possible.”
The rap group replaced Ukraine’s original entrant Alina Pash – who withdrew from the competition just months ago – and are reportedly current favourites to win the annual contest after Russian president Vladimir Putin launched an ongoing military invasion back in February.
Frontman Oleh Psiuk said: “To represent Ukraine in the international arena is always a responsibility, but to represent it during the war is just the highest responsibility possible,”
The rap group – which formed in 2019 and also consists of instrumentalists Tymofii Muzychuk Vitalii Duzhyk, Ihor Didenchuk and dancer MC Kilimmen
– will take to the stage in Turin, Italy on Saturday (14.05.22) to perform ‘Stefania’, a number that was originally inspired by and dedicated to Psiuk’s mother , but the singer claimed that the people of Ukraine have taken it “into their hearts” as they continue to deal with the war.
He told NME: “The song was composed and dedicated to my mother, but after the war the song has acquired lots of nuances because a lot of people are perceiving it as if Ukraine is my mother. That’s why the song has become so close to the Ukrainian people, and it is in the Ukrainian hearts.”
“The band combines old forgotten folklore, which could have been forgotten through many generations, and new, modern contemporary hip-hop and rap – all mixed into one cocktail. That’s why it has an interesting sound, but I don’t know anything similar to that.”
However, the rap star went on to explain that however they fare in the competition, they will have to return home “instantly” to continue fighting in the war.
He added: “We will be returning instantly so we can deal with [our] own affairs as volunteers and doing everything possible to help the country. One of our band members stayed in the war and is now defending Kyiv in the capital. I created my volunteer organisation helping people with accommodation, travel, transport and medicine all across the Ukraine, We also have a special telegram channel that you can join, write where you’re from and what help you need.”

The pop princess has teamed up with South Korean producer and world-famous DJ Peggy Gou on a new cut of the iconic pop song. The megastars have joined forces on the remix for ice cream giants Magnum’s #ClassicsRemixed campaign.
Kylie, 53, said: “I can’t quite believe it’s been twenty years since I released this song! I’m a big fan of Peggy and I’m so excited for everyone to hear this remix!”
Peggy, 30, added: “Partnering with one of my musical icons to remix what is an undisputed club classic is a dream come true. From personal experience, ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ is one of those songs that transports, moves and uplifts people all over the world. Classics like this never go out of style but I’ve loved being able to put my own personal stamp on such a legendary track. The full remix is released on May 19, however, a 30-second teaser has been shared by both stars on their Instagram pages, as well as the Magnum TikTok.
The eye-popping music video for the pop classic has also been refreshed by Seoul-based illustrator, Seo Inji.
On May 19, Kylie and Peggy will debut the new track at Magnum’s iconic beach in Cannes with Pleasure Seekers able to stream the track via Spotify and watch the remixed music video in full via Kylie’s and Magnum’s YouTube channels.
Peggy will also headline the event with an exclusive 90-minute set, with fans able to watch virtually on socials.

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles spent a month at circus school to prepare him for the epic stunts in his upcoming music video.
The ‘As It Was’ hitmaker’s new promo will see him fly high in the air and perform tightrope and trapeze stunts, and the former One Direction star needed to get some expert training to pull them off effortlessly, so he spent weeks at a circus school in Gravesend, Kent, England.
The video will see the 28-year-old pop star don some “really extravagant costumes”, including a striking yellow jumpsuit complete with a set of matching feathered wings.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Harry has spent weeks being taught circus skills for this video — he wanted it to be a real spectacle.
“It is probably his most expensive video yet because as well as all the rehearsals, it was a huge set with loads of extras and really extravagant costumes. He had to really make sure he was strong enough to do the stunts like the tightrope and trapeze, because it requires incredible upper- body and core strength.”
The ‘Kiwi’ singer – who releases his third solo album, ‘Harry’s House’, on May 20 – is already fit but but the acrobatic stunts “really pushed him to his limits”.
The source added: “Harry is in good shape as it is, because he needs to be fighting fit for his energetic performances.
“He goes to the gym all the time and goes swimming practically every day. But this video really pushed him to his limits.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono is set to release the memoir ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story’.
The U2 frontman’s upcoming tome sees the rock legend chronicle his life and career through 40 songs from the band’s four-decade history.
Fans will get a candid and in-depth insight into the musings of the iconic Irish musician, with 576 pages and 40 chapters named after the songs.
According to a press release, the deeply personal book will recall key moments “from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was 14, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his 20 years of activism dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty.”
In a statement regarding the memoir, Bono said: “When I started to write this book, I was hoping to draw in detail what I’d previously only sketched in songs.
“The people, places, and possibilities in my life. ‘Surrender’ is a word freighted with meaning for me. Growing up in Ireland in the seventies with my fists up (musically speaking), it was not a natural concept.
“A word I only circled until I gathered my thoughts for the book. I am still grappling with this most humbling of commands. In the band, in my marriage, in my faith, in my life as an activist. Surrender is the story of one pilgrim’s lack of progress… with a fair amount of fun along the way.”
Editor and publisher Reagan Arthur added: “All of the passion that Bono brings to his music and his life he also brings to the page. Seven years ago another legend, the late Knopf editor Sonny Mehta, acquired the book, because he knew Bono fits into the tradition of literary Irish storytellers, and we were lucky to have Sonny’s notes on an early draft of the manuscript.

The 62-year-old singer said previously of the 1979 track: “‘Out Of Control’ is about waking up on your 18th birthday and realising that you’re 18 years old and that the two most important decisions in your life have nothing to do with you – being born and dying.”
The print edition and audiobook version of ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story’ will be released on November 1, via Alfred A. Knopf and Penguin Random House, respectively.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa was “not afraid to talk about things” on her “grown-up” third album.
The ‘Levitating’ hitmaker, 26, says her upcoming follow-up to 2020’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ is her most mature record to date, and she doesn’t hold back when speaking up on what matters to her.
Speaking to Vogue, she spilled: “I’ve definitely grown up. Overall, whether it’s sonically or in terms of the themes, I’ve matured.
“It’s like I’m coming into my power and not afraid to talk about things.
“It’s about understanding what I want.”
In March, the pop star revealed the record was “50 per cent done”.
The Grammy winner said she was happy with the progress she’s made and feels “very excited” about some of the songs she’s already recorded for the LP.
Speaking to Sir Elton John on her ‘Service 95’ podcast, she said: “It’s starting to feel good.
“It’s starting to take shape. I’m very excited about some of the new songs so it’s always exciting to look forward towards something.”
Dua’s update came just two months after she said her third album was “still in baby form” and she was “in no rush” to debut new material.
However, she admitted had a firm “vision” for the record and had already chosen a title.
She said: “It has a vision. It has a name, I think—for now. It’s just been fun experimenting. I’m always going to make pop music, but it has its own unique sound, which is exciting and something that feels like a movement from ‘Future Nostalgia’.
“In all honesty, it’s probably not what my fans want to hear – but I’m in no rush to release a new album.”
Meanwhile, FKA twigs recently admitted she needs to get in touch with Dua to finish their duet, which was previously teased during a live stream back in 2020.
She said: “A friend of a friend sent me a voice note of somebody that I’ve never even met, like basically hassling me for that Dua Lipa bump.
“I was like, that’s just like the cherry on top. I’ll just put that on. Why isn’t it on the internet? Honestly, there’s literally no reason. I think there’s actually no reason why we haven’t finished it.
“I don’t even have a reason.
“I’ve been busy doing the mixtape, but maybe I’ll give Dua a little call. Maybe it’s something that we need to – Yeah, we’ll do it.
Yeah, we will. We will do it. We’ll do it. We’ll do it. We’ll do it. Yeah. There’s no reason. I have no explanation.
“I feel like I’m in school, you know when your teacher tells you off and you just have no reason for why you didn’t do your homework?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May was left traumatised hearing the late Freddie Mercury’s vocals after the Queen frontman’s death.
The iconic rock group’s guitarist has recalled how painful it was listening to Freddie – who died from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS in November 1991 aged 45 – singing on the recordings he worked on for the ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmakers’ first and only LP released following the music icon’s passing, 1995’s ‘Made In Heaven’.
Speaking to Elis James and John Robins on BBC Radio 5 Live’s ‘How Do You Cope’ podcast, he shared:
“It was very weird. It was traumatising in itself.
“I spent hours and days and weeks working on little bits of Freddie’s vocals. Listening to Freddie the whole day and the whole night. I’d have moments thinking, ‘This is great … this sounds great Fre … Oh, you’re not here.'”
The 74-year-old musician had to step away from the project every so often to “recover” from the grief he was hit with.
He continued: “It was quite difficult. You’d have to go away from it sometimes and recover and come back. But I felt this immense pride and joy in squeezing the last drops out of what Freddie left us.”
Despite the emotional ordeal of finishing the record, Brian says it’s actually his favourite of their 15 studio albums.
He said: “I still love that album. I think it’s my favourite Queen album.
“There are things in there that are so deep. There’s pure gold in there.”
Brian also opened up about the grieving process and admitted he and drummer Roger Taylor, 72, were in “denial” about the loss of their beloved bandmate, and distracted themselves with solo projects and even tried to erase Queen from their memories as a coping mechanism.
He recalled: “I think Roger and I both went through a kind of normal grieving process, but accentuated by the fact it has to be public. We sort of went into denial. Like, ‘Yeah well, we did Queen, but we do something else now’.
“Roger and I plunged into our solo work and didn’t want to talk about Queen. That seems almost nonsensical because we spent half of our lives constructing Queen. But we didn’t want to know at that time. It was a grieving thing. We just overcompensated. It went on for a long time.
“I went so far as to adapt John Lennon’s ‘God’ song in my solo stage act to say, ‘I don’t believe in Queen anymore’. That was a vast overreaction. I didn’t need to do that, why would I do that? Because I couldn’t cope with looking at it.”
Each year, Brian – who lost his father the same year as Freddie – has to hide away on the anniversary of the ‘We Are The Champions’ singer’s death because the loss is still too heartbreaking to comprehend.
He said: “Losing Freddie was like losing a brother, but yes it had the glare of public knowledge to go along with it.
“We were kind of dragged into a perpetual wheel of having to look at the loss of Freddie in a public way. That’s why I tend to hide away on the anniversary of his death.
“People do a lot of, sort of celebrating on the day of Freddie’s death, but I don’t want to and I don’t feel I can. I’ll celebrate his birthday, or the day we first got together, but the day of losing him will never be something I can put straight in my head. There was just nothing good about it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Eurovision Song Contest star Sam Ryder has announced his European rescheduled tour dates.
The UK Eurovision 2022 entry will be performing across the continent again between October and November with tickets going on sale on Friday (13.05.22) at 9am and tickets already purchased will be honoured for the new date.
The rearranged dates being made public come after the ‘Space Man’ crooner was named as one of the favourites to snag the top spot at Eurovision 2022 in Turin, where the 32-year-old TikTok star is “so honoured” to be involved in.
Sam said: “Having been a fan of Eurovision since I was a kid l I am so honoured to have been presented with the opportunity to sing at an event alongside some of Europe’s most talented creatives, performers and songwriters. I hope to sing my head off in a way the UK can be proud of, and to showcase a song I wrote with my friends last summer makes the whole experience even more special. See you in Turin legends!”
The song – which was written by Sam, Amy Wadge and Max Wolfgang – has gone on to enter the top 10 Airplays and Global streams have risen by 20 per cent this week. In addition, he has impressed fans with his behind-the-scenes and interviews, including former winners of the competition Måneskin and Conchita Wurst.
Sam has even had backing from Mr Eurovision himself, Graham Norton, who labelled him a “star” and “our best hope for years” at breaking Blighty’s bad luck at the competition.
The 59-year-old funny man said: “Sam Ryder is a star! I honestly think he is our best hope for years. “He has been getting a great response around Europe as he promotes Spaceman, so fingers crossed for some points this year!”
