OHMYGOSSIP — Westlife’s sold-out Wembley Stadium concert is set to be broadcast via satellite in cinemas across the UK.
The Irish boy band – comprising Shane Filan, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Nicky Byrne – will play their first-ever headline concert at the London venue on August 6, and those who were unable to get a ticket will be able to watch from the comfort of one of the 500 cinemas across the nation showing the performance.
Fans can expect a greatest hits set, including ‘Uptown Girl’, ‘Flying Without Wings’, ‘You Raise Me Up’, and ‘If I Let You Go’.
The band said: “Without a doubt, Wembley stadium will be a career-high and a real ‘pinch yourself’ moment in our lives.
After a two-year wait, August 6th will be the biggest show we have ever undertaken in the UK and all under the arch of one of the world’s most iconic venues.
To now announce that the show will be screened live in cinemas right across the UK, Ireland and Europe, allowing our fans who won’t be there on the night to enjoy it in real time too is something really special for us.
We will be giving Wembley everything we’ve got on the night with all of our Greatest Hits included!

OHMYGOSSIP — The Rolling Stones have cancelled another date on their ‘SIXTY Tour’ after Sir Mick Jagger tested positive for COVID-19.
The ‘Sympathy For The Devil’ rockers were forced to postpone their Amsterdam concert at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Monday (13.06.22), hours before it was set to start after the legendary frontman came down with coronavirus.
And now the band have announced they will no longer play Wankdorf Stadium in Switzerland on Friday (17.06.22) as planned.
In a fresh update on social media, they said: “The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for this postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority.”
The ‘Start Me Up’ rockers are expecting to resume the run on June 21 at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy.
The Stones are also due to play the first of two nights at American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Saturday, June 25, with another date on July 3.
Announcing the cancellation of the Amsterdam show, Mick and co said: “The Rolling Stones have been forced to call off tonight’s concert in Amsterdam at the Johan Cruijff Arena, following Mick Jagger testing positive after experiencing symptoms of Covid upon arrival at the stadium.
“The Rolling Stones are deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority.
“The show will be rescheduled for a later date. Tickets for tonight’s show will be honoured for the rescheduled date. Standby for details.”
Sir Mick apologised to the band’s Dutch fans, saying on Twitter: “I’m so sorry that we’ve had to postpone the Amsterdam show with such short notice tonight.
“I have unfortunately just tested positive for Covid. We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Mick.”
Steve Jordan is touring with the band following the death of long-standing drummer Charlie Watts, who died aged 80 on 24 August 2021.
The band made their return to the UK stage at Anfield football stadium in Liverpool last week.
Mick was previously forced to postpone Stones gigs in 2019 after he was told he needed surgery and three months off to have a heart valve replacement.

OHMYGOSSIP — Simple Minds have announced their new album ‘Direction Of The Heart’.
The Scottish rock band are set to release the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Walk Between Worlds’ on October 21.
Jim Kerr and co have also shared the lead single, ‘Vision Thing’, which is a tribute to the vocalist’s late father, who passed away in 2019.
The LP also includes a duet with Sparks singer Russell Mael on the track ‘Human Traffic’.
The collection was recorded in the “worst of times”, but ended up being a lot of “fun” for the Glaswegians.
Frontman Jim, 62, said: “How to make a feel-good ‘electro-rock’ record, during the very worst of times?
“‘Direction Of The Heart’ is the result of that challenge. Who would have thought we’d have so much fun creating it?”
The ‘Belfast Child’ hitmakers have also just been confirmed to play Radio 2 Live in Leeds at Temple Newsam Park on September 17.
They join Tears for Fears, Craig David, Bananarama, Ella Henderson, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Kaiser Chiefs.
Meanwhile, on September 18, Nile Rodgers and Chic, Melanie C, Mark Owen, George Ezra, Emeli Sandé, Heather Small and Olly Murs will perform.

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Summer Breeze’ hitmaker Jim Seals has died aged 80.
The musician, who was one half of the soft rock duo Seals and Crofts with Darrell ‘Dash’ Crofts, passed away on Monday (06.06.22) after battling “chronic ongoing illness”, his wife Ruby Jean Seals announced.
Seals’ death was confirmed by his cousin Brady Seals, who tweeted: “I just learned that James “Jimmy” Seals has passed.
“My heart just breaks for his wife Ruby and their children. Please keep them in your prayers.
“What an incredible legacy he leaves behind.”
Tributes have poured in for the star – whose hits also include ‘Get Closer’ and ‘Diamond Girl’.
John Ford Coley, of rival 70s soft rock duo England Dan and John Ford Coley, has hailed Seals a “dyed-in-the-wool musical genius”.
He wrote: “Wow. Don’t even know where to begin… I spent a large portion of my musical life with this man.
“We didn’t always see eye-to-eye, especially as musicians, but we always got along and I thought he was a bona fide, dyed-in-the-wool musical genius and a very deep and contemplative man.
“He belonged to a group that was one of a kind.”
Seals and Crofts formed in 1969, with the former on guitar, saxophone and violin and Crofts on guitar and mandolin.
Regarded as their biggest hit, ‘Summer Breeze’ reached number 6 in the Billboard Hot 100 Chart upon its release in 1972.
The harmonious anthem later became a hit for The Isley Brothers in 1974.
The pair disbanded in 1980 after releasing their final album, ‘The Longest Road’, before being dropped by their record label.
They reunited in 1991 and again in 2004 for what would mark their last LP, ‘Traces’.
Seals is survived by his wife Ruby and children Joshua, Juliette and Sutherland.

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish performed a brand new track at her Manchester concert on Tuesday night (07.06.22).
The Oscar winner kicked off the first night of the UK leg of her ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour at the city’s AO Arena.
And she surprised fans by debuting the track ‘TV’, which appears to reference Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial and the Roe v. Wade legal case in the US.
The ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker – who was joined on stage by her brother and collaborator Finneas – told the crowd: “We haven’t played a new song live before it’s out since 2017 or 2018.
“This is one we just wrote, and we just wanted to play for you.”
Billie sings: “The internet’s gone wild watching movie stars on trial /While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade.”
The landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade case that legalised abortion across America faces being overturned.
Billie has voiced her concerns over abortion rights in the past and last year considered cancelling her Texas concert over the US state’s controversial law.
As of September 2021, abortion is prohibited in Texas once a fetal heartbeat can be detected, and during her performance at Austin City Limits, the Grammy winner admitted she contemplated calling off her performance there, but ultimately decided it was unfair on her fans because they are the “victims”.
Billie fumed: “I’m sick and tired of old men. Shut the f*** up about our bodies.”
She continued: “When they made that s*** a law, I almost didn’t want to do the show, because I wanted to punish this f****** place for allowing that to happen here. But then, I remembered that it’s you guys that are the f****** victims, and you deserve everything in the world.”
The ‘No Time To Die’ singer implored: “We need to tell them to shut the f*** up.”
Billie then put her middle finger in the air and added: “My body, my f****** choice!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorillaz are set to release live favourite ‘Cracker Island’.
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s animated band have been performing the track with added vocals from Thundercat on their world tour.
And now it’s available to pre-save after the band posted a teaser clip featuring the cartoon band members 2D, Murdoc Niccals, Noodle and Russel on their socials.
The caption read: “Cracker Island is coming… Pre-save now. #thelastcult.”
There’s no release date at the time of writing.
Last year, the ‘Feel Good Inc’ hitmakers released the three-track EP ‘Meanwhile’, featuring AJ Tracey, Jelani Blackman and Alicai Harley.
Meanwhile, Damon previously teased a collaboration of sorts with Sir Paul McCartney.
The 54-year-old musician revealed last year that he recorded music with the legendary Beatles star and he hopes to use it on a future Gorillaz LP.
He said: “I have a recording of Paul and myself that I could use for a Gorillaz track. It could easily fit on a Gorillaz album. It’s a very simple, basic recording but I would never release it without talking to him first.”
Damon went on to insist that the recording is not a full track but praised Paul, 79, as “one of the most special pop musicians”.
He said: “[I don’t want to say I have] a track with Paul, because I don’t, but I could definitely work with him. He is one of the most special pop musicians ever.”
Gorillaz’s last studio album was 2020’s ‘Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez’, which featured the likes of Sir Elton John, St. Vincent and Beck.

OHMYGOSSIP — Zara Larsson has acquired the rights to her entire recording catalogue and announced her own record label, Sommer House.
The Swedish pop star – whose songs have been streamed over 9 billion times – has agreed a unique deal with independent label TEN Music Group CEO Ola Håkansson – who originally signed the ‘Ain’t My Fault’ hitmaker in 2011.
Zara, 24, said in a statement: “I really want to say thank you to Ola and everyone at TEN for giving me the opportunity to break out as an artist and helping me start my career. You are now also making something happen that is so, so rare for a woman in the music industry – the capability to own my own catalogue. With that it makes perfect sense that I would start my own record company. I very much look forward to my future and to a continued collaboration with Sony as well.’
Ola commented: “This is a natural and exciting development in Zara’s continuing music career.
“We have worked together for more than 10 fantastic, eventful years and Zara is, despite her young age, an established and respected international artist with extensive experience of the international music scene today. It is going to be really exciting to follow Zara’s ongoing music career. OHMYGOSSIP — BTS star J-Hope is set to make history as the first South Korean artist to headline a major festival in the US at Lollapalooza.
The 28-year-old singer has been confirmed as a headliner of the Chicago event on July 31.
The latest lineup announcement also revealed South Korean boy band TOMORROW X TOGETHER will make their US festival debut at Lollapalooza on July 30.
The festival’s founder, Perry Farrell, said in a statement: “I’m happy to welcome J-Hope and Tomorrow x Together into the Lollapalooza family.
“These artists have been given great gifts in communication. Their global audience speak different languages but possess an intense passion for their music. Lolla is the place where all music genres live in harmony. These are the superstars of the global phenomenon of K-Pop, and we are so excited to have them at this year’s festival.”
The addition of J-Hope and TXT comes after Doja Cat cancelled her performance at the festival due to her recovery from tonsil surgery.
The 26-year-old pop star ended up in hospital last month to have an abscess removed from her left tonsil.
The ‘Kiss Me More’ singer has also cancelled her support slot on The Weeknd’s tour.
The likes of Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole and Green Day will also co-headline across the four days.
Lollapalooza takes place at Grant Park between July 28 and July 31.

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters have announced two tribute concerts for their late drummer Taylor Hawkins.
The rock band will play at London’s Wembley Stadium on 3 September and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on September 27 to honour their “beloved bandmate”, who tragically passed away at the age of 50 in March.
The tribute concerts have been organised by Taylor’s family together with his bandmates Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee.
The ‘Best of You’ band said they would be teaming up with artists who inspired and were inspired by the late musician, “playing the songs that he fell in love with, and the ones he brought to life”.
Full details of the line-up will be announced.
Taylor was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia this March. No cause of death was announced but a toxicology report showed traces of 10 different substances in his body – including opioids, marijuana and anti-depressants.
Hawkins’ wife Alison also released a statement thanking fans for their support following her husband’s passing.
She wrote on social media: “Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.
“As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to share how much you meant to him and how dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance.
“Taylor was honoured to be a part of the Foo Fighters and valued his dream role in the band every minute of his 25 years with them. We consider every band member and the extended Foo Fighters team our family.
“Taylor’s endearing spirit and deep love of music will live on forever through the collaborations he so enjoyed having with other musicians and the catalogue of songs he contributed to and created.
“In celebration of his life, it is now up to all of us who loved him most to honour Taylor’s legacy and the music he gave us.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lighthouse Family have split after almost 30 years together.
The musical duo consisted of singer Tunde Baiyewu and keyboardist Paul Tucker, both 53, first forming back in 1993 in Newcastle upon Tyne going on to have hits such as ‘Lifted’, ‘High’ and ‘Ocean Drive’.
But their musical journey is now over after Paul took to the band’s official Instagram page to tell fans that Tunde is stepping away from the group to focus on his solo projects.
Paul – who was set to appear in the Mouth of Tyne Festival in Tynemouth in July alongside Tunde – wrote: “I’m so sad to let you know that after almost thirty years we have reached the end of our Lighthouse Family journey. Having set off from our little basement studio in Newcastle in 1993 it’s been an incredible adventure beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you all for all your love and support through the years, we could not have done it without you.
“I’m so sorry that this means that our headline show at Mouth Of The Tyne Festival on 9th July is now cancelled. I have tried everything with our agents and promoters over the last few weeks to make this work but we just couldn’t get it over the line. “Tunde now wants to focus on his solo career and I wish him all the best. I would like to say sorry to the promoters and to all of you who have tickets for this show and have waited through the last two years. I was really looking forward to this hometown show and playing our songs in this amazing place close to the lighthouses that gave us our name. I am as disappointed as you are. It breaks my heart to let you down.
“Paul.”
The Mouth of the Tyne Festival – which runs from July 8 to 10 this year – is organised by North Tyneside Council, with support from EQUANS, BBC Radio Newcastle and Port of Tyne.
Festival organisers have told fans via social media attending that a new headline artist for the Saturday night slot is being booked and that refunds are available on request.

OHMYGOSSIP — Blondie are releasing their first-ever archival box set.
‘Blondie: Against The Odds 1974- 1982’ will contain 36 previously unissued tracks and will be released on August 26.
Remastered from the original analogue tapes and cut at Abbey Road Studios, the box set sees the band’s first six studio albums – ‘Blondie’, ‘Plastic Letters’, ‘Parallel Lines’. ‘Eat To The Beat’, ‘Autoamerican’ and ‘The Hunter’ – expanded to include more than four demos (including the group’s first-ever recording session), alternate versions and studio outtakes.
The box set creates a near-complete document of Blondie’s studio session before their 1982 hiatus.
Frontwoman Debbie Harry said: “It really is a treat to see how far we have come when I listen to these early attempts to capture our ideas on relatively primitive equipment.
“Fortunately the essence of being in a band in the early 70s held some of the anti-social, counter culture energies of the groups that were the influencers of the 60s.
“I am excited about this special collection. When I listen to these old tracks, it puts me there like I am a time traveller. As bad as it was sometimes, it was also equally as good. No regrets. More music.”
Guitarist Chris Stein added: “I am hopeful that this project will provide a glimpse into the ‘process’ and some of the journey that the song took from idea to final form.
“Some of this stuff is like early sketches; the old tape machines are like primitive notebooks. The trickiest thing for me was always about getting the melodies out of my head into reality and the changes that would happen along the way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera and Mya are reportedly planning a mini ‘Lady Marmalade’ reunion when the former headlines LA Pride.
The 41-year-old pop megastar is set to put on a spectacular performance for her LGBTQ+ fans on June 11 at State Historic Park, with Variety reporting that she’s set to perform their 2001 hit ‘Lady Marmalade’ with Mya, and members of the touring stage musical of ‘Moulin Rouge!’ are also set to join them.
The pair famously covered the disco classic – which was first made famous by the all-female singing group Labelle in 1974 – with Pink, Lil’ Kim and Missy Elliott for the soundtrack to the Baz Luhrmann ‘Moulin Rouge!’ movie.
Mya previously said she would love to see a drag queen rendition of ‘Lady Marmalade’.
The 42-year-old singer was hoping for the group to reunite to mark the 20th anniversary of their cover last year.
She said in 2020: “Lots of fans are coming to all the ladies and saying, ‘Is there going to be a reunion?’ Of course, we have to listen to the fans. But we haven’t had a full group conversation. We are constantly asked about it but I think it’s time . . . It’s as easy as a group chat.”
She added: “I’d like to celebrate the LGBTQ community with drag queens.
“You could have RuPaul, Amanda Lepore, Ultra Nate, Bianca Del Rio and the King of Vogue Dashaun Wesley could do Missy Elliott’s role. That would be amazing for me.”
Mya had said at the time: “Next year’s the 20th anniversary so I hope we have a reunion together.
“I’m sure we’ll get together and do something and I’m hoping it’ll be on stage or television, that’d be amazing.”
However, she dashed hopes of herself and the gang re-releasing it with a modern twist because they would need a major budget.
She explained: “I’m not sure how that would work to get four, well five because Missy Elliott was involved as well, that’s a lot of budget and we’re in different times and so are the labels.”
The popular track featured the famously suggestive French chorus of “Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?”, which translates to: “Do you want to sleep with me?”
It spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US, and was also a number one in the UK.

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Styles has announced a special one-off performance for ‘The First Take’.
The ‘As It Was’ hitmaker is set to celebrate the release of new album ‘Harry’s House’ on June 13 with a unique session.
The Japanese YouTube channel – which boasts over six million subscribers – tasks performers with palying a track “in a pure white space with the artist in front of a single mic”.
The session is filmed in a single take, with production kept “simple and stripped down”.
As revealed in a press release, Harry will sing “a fan favourite from his brand new album” for the show, and more details are set to be announced before the performance is unveiled on June 13.
Meanwhile, Harry recently announced he would make a contribution of the proceeds from the US leg of his ‘Love On Tour’ to anti-gun violence group the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund after being left “devastated” by the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas which killed 19 kids and two teachers on May 24.
In a post on Instagram, Harry wrote: “Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at Robb Elementary School in Texas.
“On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items.”
Harry has sold out 42 dates on his North American tour which includes a residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden and another at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
Rolling Stone.com reports Harry and tour company LiveNation will be able to hand over than $1 million to support the gun safety campaign.
The tour will head to Canada before taking in US cities including Austin, Texas, for five nights, and then Chicago’s United Center for the same number of shows.
Harry will wrap up the tour with 10 nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum with the final date set for November 15.

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey was forced to cancel her Maryland show after the venue was heavily flooded.
The ‘Without Me’ hitmaker had to axe their gig at the Merriweather Post Pavilion when fans were already in the 19,000-capacity venue due to storms in the area, but they have blasted the venue after organisers claimed hours earlier that “the show is still happening rain or shine”.
It was later announced that Wednesday night’s (08.06.22) show had been delayed, while punters were told to re-enter the venue at 9pm with plans to get underway 30 minutes later.
By 10pm, the show – which is part of Halsey’s ongoing ‘Love And Power’ tour – was totally cancelled as the venue cited “weather-related technical difficulties”.
Videos on Twitter show water surging through the crowd, with the venue coming under heavy rain.
Halsey later tweeted: “Maryland I don’t even know what to say. If you missed my live, I’ll post something soon explaining what happened.
“But right now I’m heartbroken and panicked and I just want to know when/that you all get home safely.
“I love you guys more than anything.”
In a since-deleted tweet, a fan urged Halsey to push on with the gig regardless of the weather conditions.
The 27-year-old singer replied: “I promise I wanted to more than anything. But I couldn’t because it would have been SO unsafe if I went out there and people rushed the stage during or after the storm.
“A lot of things were out of my control tonight but I promise everything I COULD choose, I chose your safety.”
And they also criticised the venue’s handling of the incident and insisted while the Maryland date with be rescheduling, they won’t be returning to the Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Halsey tweeted: “I really want to add that I am beyond disappointed with the way the venue handled everything tonight and my rescheduled date will be happening somewhere else.
“I hear you guys loud and clear I promise.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Hawkins’ family have promised to honour his legacy and music at Foo Fighters’ upcoming tribute shows.
The late ‘My Hero’ drummer tragically died aged 50 in March and his bandmates – Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee – will play two shows in his memory in September when they take over London’s Wembley Stadum and the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
In a statement, his widow Alison said: “My deepest thanks and admiration go out to the global Foo Fighters community and Taylor’s fans far and wide for the outpouring of love each and every one of you have shown our beloved Taylor.
“Your kindness has been an invaluable comfort for my family and me during this time of unimaginable grief.
“As Taylor’s wife, and on behalf of our children, I want to share how much you meant to him and how dedicated he was to ‘knocking your socks off’ during every performance.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Cure drummer Jason Cooper is doing a charity bike ride in honour of late crew member Paul ‘Ricky’ Welton.
The ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ musician wants to pay tribute the long-serving member of the band’s team, who tragically suffered a heart attack during their 2019 tour and died a few days later.
Jason will be taking part in the British Heart Foundation’s London To Brighton Bike Ride on June 19, which starts at London’s Clapham Common and ends 54 miles away on Brighton seafront.
Appearing on ‘BBC Radio 5 Live’, he said: “I’m riding the London To Brighton Bike Ride for the British Heart Foundation in memory of my dear departed drum technician [Ricky] who died of a heart attack.
“We shared lots of moments, he was just wonderful to have on stage and I could always depend on him. Ricky is dearly missed.
“The BHF hope to raise £2.8 million from the event, which will see 14,000 riders taking part. They spend millions of pounds to fund lifesaving research and it is such a worthy cause.”
Meanwhile, London to Brighton Event Manager Lee Sumner praised Jason’s passion in taking on the challenge and helping raise awareness and funds.
He added: “Jason and The Cure have experienced first-hand the devastating consequences of heart and circulatory diseases with the death of their beloved member Ricky.
“It’s so inspiring to hear how passionate Jason is about making a difference by taking on the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
“I wish Jason the very best of luck on event day, along with the other 14,000 riders taking part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride.
“It’s thanks to people like him that the British Heart Foundation can continue to fund science projects that will help to save and improve lives of people with heart and circulatory conditions.”
Last month, Jason helped raise money for a number of charities as part of DrumathonLIVE2022 alongside Coldplay’s Will Champion and ex-Elbow star Richard Jupp.
