Def Leppard to bring The Stadium Tour to Europe

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Elliott has revealed Def Leppard’s stadium tour will travel across the pond to Europe next year.
The ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ rockers are currently on a jaunt across North America, but the 62-year-old frontman has promised fans there will be “loads” more dates in Ireland and beyond.
Speaking to Classic Rock, he said: “I can’t reveal when or where it will happen because I haven’t been told that it’s okay to say anything yet.
“But the second that information is cleared, Classic Rock will know about it.
“One gig is absolutely confirmed so far, and we’re looking at a second one in a different city. There will be another in Dublin, and loads around Europe. Some of them will just be festivals [with different bands], but others will be what we’re currently doing here in North America.”
‘The Stadium Tour’ sees Def Leppard joined by Motley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett.
The US leg is currently due to conclude on September 9 at the Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.
Meanwhile, when the tour came to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. last week, Motley drummer Tommy Lee threw a full tray of ribs into the crowd to make light of breaking his actual ribs.
The 59-year-old sticksman hasn’t been unable to play full sets after breaking four ribs, and he made light of his injuries by dropping some meaty ribs into the audience.
Tommy joked with the crowd: “For the people that know, here’s a little f****** joke on the whole situation.
“For those of you that don’t know, I brought a couple of unbroken ribs for y’all to throw down on.”
He said: “Let’s f****** party, goddammit. Ribs? How about some f****** ribs?”

Tommy Lee broke four ribs carrying luggage down uneven stairs

OHMYGOSSIP — Tommy Lee broke four ribs carrying luggage down uneven stairs at a rental house in Nashville.
The Motley Crüe drummer has been unable to play full sets on the band’s stadium tour after suffering the nasty fall, and his wife Brittany Furlan has now revealed how her rocker spouse injured himself.
The 35-year-old influencer told fans on Snapchat: “We were staying at an old rental house in Nashville. It was a cool, old quirky house.
“But the stairs outside were made out of stones, and they were really uneven, and the roots were pushing them up from the tree. And everything was fine. I actually fell up the stairs a few times getting groceries, but whatever. So, the day that we were leaving Nashville, our driver came and we had all this luggage and he wasn’t helping us; he just stayed in the car. And so Tommy was trying to carry all of our luggage for us. And he fell down these crazy stairs and broke — broke — four ribs. Not fractured, not bruised — broke.”
The comedian said at one point the 59-year-old sticksman was struggling to breathe because he was in so much pain.
She continued: “And it was crazy, ’cause I came out and he couldn’t breathe.
“It was really scary. He was on the ground [and] he was gasping for air. And he got on a plane that day still and went and did the rest of rehearsals [for the tour] in Pennsylvania. He went to the hospital in Pennsylvania when we landed and they were, like, ‘You have four broken ribs.’ And they wanted to keep him there, but he did not wanna stay.”
When ‘The Stadium Tour’ – boasting a line-up of Def Leppard, Motley, Poison and Joan Jett – came to Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. last week, Tommy threw a full tray of ribs into the crowd to make light of breaking his actual ribs.
The ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ hitmaker joked with the crowd: “For the people that know, here’s a little f****** joke on the whole situation.
“For those of you that don’t know, I brought a couple of unbroken ribs for y’all to throw down on.”
He said: “Let’s f****** party, goddammit. Ribs? How about some f****** ribs?”

Depeche Mode co-founder Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher died of natural causes

OHMYGOSSIP — Depeche Mode co-founder Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher died of natural causes.
The keyboardist passed away last month aged 60, and the surviving members of the ‘Enjoy the Silence’ group, Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, have thanked fans for the “outpouring of love” for the musician amid a “strange, sad, disorienting few weeks”.
They said in an Instagram post: “We wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the outpouring of love for Andy that we’ve seen from all of you over the last few weeks.
“It’s incredible to see all of your photos, to read your words, and to see how much Andy meant to all of you.
“As you can imagine, it’s been a strange, sad, disorienting few weeks for us here, to say the least.
“But we’ve seen and felt all of your love and support, and we know that Andy’s family has too.”
Confirming his cause of death, the pair revealed Andy suffered an aortic dissection, a tear in the large blood vessel of the heart, and “passed naturally” and peacefully.
They added: “A couple weeks ago we received the result from the medical examiners, which Andy’s family asked us to share with you now. Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26. So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.”
Martin and Dave, both 60, also revealed they joined Andy’s close family and friends at a “beautiful” celebration of life in London last week.
They added: “We had a celebration of Andy’s life in London last week, which was a beautiful ceremony and gathering with a few tears, but filled with the great memories of who Andy was, stories of all of our times together, and some good laughs,” they wrote. “Andy was celebrated in a room full of many of his friends and family, our immediate DM family, and so many people who have touched Andy’s and our lives throughout the years. All being together was a very special way to remember Andy and see him off.”
The duo signed off the post: “So thank you for all of the love you’ve shown Andy and his family and friends over the last few weeks. It honestly means the world to all of us. Andy, you’ll be missed, but certainly not forgotten.”
In a joint statement announcing the shock news of Andy’s death, they wrote: “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.
“Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint.”
The synth-pop legends offered their “hearts” to the touring DJ’s family – including his widow Grainne Mullan and their two children, Meghan and Joe – and asked fans to “keep them in their thoughts” while giving them space to grieve.
They added: “Our hearts are with his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy in this difficult time.”
In a 2017 interview with The Skinny, Fletch mused it was the “electricity” between him and his bandmates that made their music so great.
He said: “Martin and Dave live in the US and I live here, but it doesn’t really affect our relationships. Me and Martin are very close. Dave is more like a brother to me – if that makes sense. But what makes bands better than solo artists is the electricity that’s generated. Sometimes a band can’t stand each other but that electricity makes for great music. It’s the same with Depeche Mode; we have moments where we don’t like each other, and moments when we love each other. It’s the electricity that’s generated between us all that produces the good music.”

Travis Scott announces first UK gig since Astroworld tragedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Scott’s first concert in the UK since the Astroworld tragedy will take place in August.
The 31-year-old rapper is set to headline London’s The O2 arena on August 6.
Travis has performed a handful of gigs since 10 people were killed at his music festival in Houston, Texas last year.
Eight crowd members died in a terrifying crush during the first night of his event at the NRG Park in Houston in November 2021. Two more revellers died from their injuries in hospital in the days after the event, while 300 gig-goers were left injured.
Last month, the ‘Antidote’ star played the Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where her performed ‘Mafia’ and ‘Lost Forever’.
Travis performed his first public gig since the disaster at a club in Miami, Florida in early May.
He previously performed a short guest appearance at a Coachella afterparty on April 17. He also played at a private pre-Oscars party in Bel-Air on March 26.
Later this year, Travis will headline the Primavera Festival in South America, which visits countries including Brazil, Chile and Argentina. He is set to play three shows in November alongside singer Lorde. Other acts on the bill for the festival include Arctic Monkeys and Bjork. According to TMZ, Travis wanted to book more shows over the summer.
Travis was recently sued by a woman who claimed she suffered a miscarriage after being crushed at Astroworld.
Organisers of the event were hit by a wrongful death lawsuit from Shanazia Williamson, who accused them of a “failure to plan, design, manage, operate, staff and supervise” the concert.
Shanazia – who also sued Live Nation, Scoremore Holdings, ASM Global, Harris Co. Sports Convention, and other companies who put on the festival – claimed in documents obtained by Rolling Stone magazine that she was trampled and crushed during the crowd surge and was left with “trouble breathing, chest pain and left leg pain”.
The woman originally filed a lawsuit just for her injuries, but submitted an amended complaint over a month later, citing wrongful death and mentioning injuries to her stomach.
In Texas, the law states that a foetus “that dies as a result of negligence can be the basis of a wrongful death lawsuit.”
Almost 5,000 attendees have claimed they were injured at the festival and hundreds have filed lawsuits over the tragedy, but they have been consolidated and are being handled by one judge.
In March, the ‘Goosebumps’ hitmaker announced Project HEAL, a long-term series of philanthropy and investment efforts to “honour” the victims of the tragedy.

Lewis Capaldi served ‘Mega Pint’ of Guinness at Belfast boozer

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi was challenged to down a ‘Mega Pint’ of Guinness at a pub in Belfast.
The Scottish superstar paid a visit to Town Square, a 300-seater bar on Botanic Avenue in the Capital of Northern Ireland, on Sunday (26.06.22) after performing at Ormeau Park for Belsonic 2022.
And he got a shock when he ordered a standard pint of the Irish tipple, only to be served the ‘Mega Pint’, the name coined by a lawyer in Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial while commenting on the former’s large glass of wine.
The boozer captioned a clip of Lewis receiving the drink on their Facebook page: “When Lewis Capaldi orders a regular but gets a Mega Pint instead.”
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker, 25, looked gobsmacked as it was placed on the table in front of him, before taking a massive swig of the dry stout.
He said: “Wow, thanks.”
The ‘Mega Pint’ is 3.5 pints and costs just under £20.
A spokesperson for the Town Square told The Sun: “Yes, the Mega Pint is on the secret menu (you have to know what to ask for).
“It’s exactly 3.5 pints and it costs £19.95.
“Lewis gave it a good go but some of the lads from the band had to give him a hand to finish it.”
Meanwhile, the BRIT Award winner’s close pal, pop star Calum Scott, has revealed Lewis struggled with his second album after the record-breaking success of his debut studio album, ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I know that Lewis has been working really hard, bless him.
“To accelerate to the height he did in a short amount of time, especially with ‘Someone You Loved’, I do feel for him as I know first-hand what overnight success feels like and it is daunting.
“He has struggled with stage anxiety and I know that on this album he has just been trying to search for the music that resonates with him.
“As an artist that has a big song, you do worry about living in its shadow quite a bit.
“So he is on this journey and he’s taking his time, really enjoying beavering away at the songs.”
However, Lewis recently told the crowd at the Isle of Wight Festival that the follow-up is now done and dusted.

Bebe Rexha shares snippet of Breaky My Heart Myself remix with ITZY

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha is set to drop a remix of ‘Break My Heart Myself’ featuring K-Pop girl group ITZY.
The ‘I Got You’ hitmaker originally dropped the song with Travis Barker last year, but after teasing fans on social media about getting ITZY to add their vocals to the remix, Bebe has shared a preview of just that.
Dropping an eight-second clip featuring the vocals of band members Yeji and Ryujin, the pop star wrote in the caption: “Coming soon. #ItzyXBebe #BreakMyHeartMyself.”
She then teased: “You made it happen. thank you #StayTuned (sic)”
Yeji and Ryujin had performed a duet of the song as part of Studio Choom’s MIX and MAX series on YouTube.
Bebe then tweeted: “Let’s get @ITZYofficial on the remix of break my heart myself!!!! (sic)”
‘Break My Heart Myself’ is from Bebe’s second album, ‘Better Mistakes’, released last May.
The 32-year-old singer previously revealed she changed the album after her parents caught COVID-19.
She said: “Sitting on it for a year and a half, it was very painful and very frustrating. It all had a similar sound and then while I was holding on to it during coronavirus, it was like, ‘This needs a dance song, I’m going to lose my mind. I can’t listen to these sad songs anymore, because the world is in such a different place.’ Then I was like, ‘I have to stop or the album is going to be completely different to the original.'”
Bebe admitted their diagnosis made her “more grateful and compassionate”.
She added: “In the very beginning of lockdown my parents got very sick and that was scary to me. My mum, even still, has heart issues and lung issues from COVID, because she was really sick. But I learned to be more grateful and compassionate with the people around me and really not take life for granted.”

Chris Martin serenades couple at Bath pub

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin serenaded a couple at a pub in Bath, Somerset on Sunday (26.06.22) after attending Glastonbury.
The Coldplay frontman walked into The Stag at Hinton Charterhouse after going to the music festival in nearby Pilton with his actress girlfriend Dakota Johnson.
And the pub’s landlord Chris Parkin admitted he was surprised to see the superstar sauntering into his boozer.
He told Somerset Live: “We had just finished lunch service and I was at the bar when this man walked in and I said to the lad sat next to me, ‘Crikey that fella looks like Chris Martin.’
“The lady, who was his PA [personal assistant] who was with him, turned and said, ‘It is.’”
The ‘Yellow’ hitmaker ended up performing after punters Hannah Organ and Jeremy Larkham told the 45-year-old musician Coldplay’s 2014 hit ‘A Sky Full of Stars’ is going to be played at their wedding.
Chris said: “To our surprise, [Martin] turned around and asked us if we wanted him to play it on the pub’s piano, to which we said yes.”
However, the ‘My Universe’ singer allegedly stopped short of doing the high notes, because his voice was a “little hoarse” from partying hard at Glastonbury.
The landlord added: “It was a bit surreal to have such a huge star like Chris Martin in the pub.
“But he was a really pleasant chap, really nice.”
Meanwhile, Chris recently revealed he wants to become a Broadway star.
The ‘Paradise’ hitmaker has previously claimed Coldplay will stop making records in 2025 and he has his eye on his next career move as he dreams of starring in a stage version of Disney’s ‘Mary Poppins’.
He said: “I have this distant dream of being in ‘Mary Poppins’ on Broadway or something, but that’s a long way off.”
The Grammy winner – who has Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow – has previously had cameo roles in ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’, but he admits he’s not much of an actor at present so some lessons are required.
He said: “‘Modern Family’ was my daughter’s favourite show at the time and we bonded over that show. And ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm is Curb Your Enthusiasm’ so how could you ever say no to that. I’m not an actor clearly I’m good for a cameo or two here and there.”

On the song, Beyonce sings: “Now, I just fell in love, and I just quit my job / I’m gonna find new drive, damn, they work me so damn hard / Work by nine, then off past five / And they work my nerves, that’s why I cannot sleep at night.”

“I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible…
“I have paid my dues and followed every rule for decades, so now I can break the rules that need to be broken. My wish for the future is to continue to do everything everyone thinks I can’t do.”

The 24-year-old singer/songwriter will perform at the world-famous music festival alongside his sister Billie Eilish on the iconic Pyramid Stage on Friday night (24.06.22), and he believes there is “nothing like Glastonbury”.
He said: “To headline Glastonbury, it’s unbelievable.
“I feel like Glastonbury is everyone who has been lucky enough to go to music festivals, the world over, everyone says the same thing, which is there’s nothing like Glastonbury.
“Everything wishes it was Glastonbury. So yeah, just a tremendous honour.
“Again, it’s the company that you’re in too. The fact that we’re there with McCartney and Kendrick and everybody down the lineup too, I’m a huge fan of so many artists playing each day. It’s so exciting.”
The ‘Nobody Like U’ hitmaker – whose full name is Finneas O’Connell – is no stranger to the spectacle, which takes place at Worthy Farm, Somerset, south west England, having played Glastonbury alongside Billie in 2019 – and Finneas recalls it was a “really exciting” experience.
He said: “We played something like 4pm or something, and I remember the flags and the heat. It was really exciting. We climbed up the tor beforehand.”

“But I think there’s also this reverence for English music and English bands, English artists.
“The two things that are very English that were great honours for us are this in the Bond song where we feel very honoured that they’re allowing us to be part of this super English thing.”

H.E.R. sues record label to be freed from recording contract

OHMYGOSSIP — H.E.R. is suing her record label to be freed from her “overrun” recording contract.
The 24-year-old singer – whose real name is Gabriella Wilson – has filed a lawsuit against MBK Entertainment, accusing the label of violating California Labor Code section 2855, Rolling Stone reports.
Also known as the Seven-Year Rule, the code “prohibits the enforcement beyond seven years of a contract (such as the Agreement) to render services of a special, unique, extraordinary or intellectual character.”
Wilson has been signed to MBK since 2011, and says her contract should have ended in 2019.
The lawsuit, filed last Thursday (16.06.22), reads: “Since May 19, 2011, MBK has exclusively owned her services as a recording artist and has exclusively owned the right to exploit her name and likeness for her recordings under the Agreement.
“Wilson has not been free to provide her recording services except as permitted or dictated by MBK.”
The Oscar winner alleges that her manager, label owner Jeff Robinson, sacked the attorney representing her and employed a new lawyer to work for his client.
However, there is no fee agreement or a conflict waiver in writing for H.E.R. and the lawyer’s work was allegedly a “favour” for Robinson.
Wilson was just 14 when she signed the deal and wants the contract to be made “unenforceable”.
She is also seeking restitution and reimbursement for court fees from MBK.
The ‘Damage’ singer was still at school when she got signed and didn’t think about being a successful singer at the time.
Speaking about her first few years in the industry, she said previously: “I didn’t think about any of that stuff. I was a kid. You know, I would play on the playground and go to class like everybody else; I just performed sometimes. Of course I know people expected me to do great things and that really played a huge role in who I am.”
And the singer admits the pressure “absolutely” hindered her as she was growing up.
Opening up about the pressures she experienced, she added: “Everybody has people who doubt them, or try to take away from who they are, but at the end of the day, those things don’t matter. On my first tour, certain people were like, ‘don’t bring your guitar out [because] kids aren’t going to get it.’ What if I had compromised myself? I might not be where I am right now. So you can’t pay attention to people. I’m always gonna focus on myself.”

A person at the show told the New York Post’s Page Six column: “He just said today is day one for his next thing.”
The 35-year-old musician has also been posting brief clips of himself in the studio, including one in the vocal booth, on social media over the past couple of weeks.
Marcus embarking on a solo career comes after the dramatic exit of Mumford’s banjo player Winston Marshall.
The 34-year-old musician quit the folk rock band last summer after 14 years, following the controversy he courted for praising a book by right-wing journalist Andy Ngo.
Although Winston stands by his tweet, he admitted he was sorry that his bandmates were held to account for his beliefs.
He wrote: “To call me ‘fascist’ was ludicrous beyond belief. I’ve had plenty of abuse over the years. I’m a banjo player after all. But this was another level.
“And, owing to our association, my friends, my bandmates, were getting it, too. It took me more than a moment to understand how distressing this was for them.
“Despite being four individuals we were, in the eyes of the public, a unit. Furthermore it’s our singer’s [Marcus Mumford] name on the tin.
“That name was being dragged through some pretty ugly accusations, as a result of my tweet.
“The distress brought to them and their families that weekend I regret very much. I remain sorry for that. Unintentionally, I had pulled them into a divisive and totemic issue.”
However, Winston revealed his bandmates stood by him and encouraged him to remain in the band.
He said: “Emotions were high. Despite pressure to nix me they invited me to stay with the band.
“That took courage, particularly in the age of so-called ‘cancel culture’. I made an apology and agreed to take a temporary step back.”
But Winston says he ultimately decided to leave the band in order to avoid having to “self-censor” and so that he could protect his bandmates.
He said: “For me to speak about what I’ve learnt to be such a controversial issue will inevitably bring my bandmates more trouble.
“My love, loyalty and accountability to them cannot permit that.
“I could stay and continue to self-censor but it will erode my sense of integrity. Gnaw my conscience. I’ve already felt that beginning.
“The only way forward is to leave the band. I hope in distancing myself from them I am able to speak my mind without them suffering the consequences.
“I leave with love in my heart and I wish those three boys nothing but the best. I have no doubt their stars will shine long into the future.”
