OHMYGOSSIP — The Chemical Brothers cancelled their Cork concert due to COVID-19 cases within the band and crew, two days before their Glastonbury set.
The iconic electronic duo – comprising Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons – have postponed their show at Musgrave Park in Cork, Ireland on Thursday night (23.06.22) until 2023 as a precaution after positive tests for the virus within their camp.
A social media statement read: “The Chemical Brothers are sorry to announce they have had to reschedule their show at Musgrave Park, Cork, Ireland on Thursday June 23rd, 2022, due to Covid in band and crew. The show will be rescheduled to 2023. A further announcement on rescheduled date will be made in due course.”
The ‘Galvanize’ hitmakers haven’t said if they will still be playing Glastonbury on Friday (24.06.22).
The pair are due to play underneath the Arcadia spider at the Worthy Farm extravaganza in Somerset, England from 11pm.
The Chemical Brothers previously insisted there’s nowhere more “exciting” to play than Glastonbury.
The ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’ hitmakers had a “religious experience” when they saw Orbital perform at the festival in 1994, and after being booked for their 12th appearance in 2019, they insisted they enjoy the gig just as much as they did the first time round.
Ed said: “We both had a religious experience [seeing Orbital]. I still get tingly when I think about it. We wanted to do that.
“It’s still to be the most exciting concert you can play.”
The pair broke records in 2000 by performing in front of what was believed to be the largest crowd in the festival’s history but can barely remember the show, so try now to take in the moments much more.
Tom said: “Early on you think everything’s going to last forever, whereas now you think, realistically, how many more times are we going to get to do this amazing thing? You become more aware of it.”
The pair have a busy summer ahead and will headline London’s All Points East in August.
In 2019, the duo released their ninth studio album, ‘No Geography’, their first since 2015’s ‘Born In The Echoes’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran admits he finds it “knackering” gassing to everyone in his dressing room before going on stage.
The ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker, 31, says he prefers to have some alone time before his shows these days.
The father-of-two – who is currently on his ‘Mathematics Tour’ – is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “I really wanted to build a dressing room under the stage because I used to really buzz off 50 people in my dressing room before a show.
“But the older I get, it is just knackering when you are catching up with someone you haven’t seen for, like, three years.
“Then you have to catch up with someone else and then someone else and then go and do the show.
“So I was just going to say to people my dressing room is under the stage, so I’m going to roll with that.”
The flame-haired pop star recently became a father for the second time.
Ed and his wife Cherry Seaborn have Lyra Antarctica, who was born in August 2020, and a second daughter who arrived in May.
And the ‘2Step’ singer previously admitted his idea of a “perfect evening” is being in bed by 8.30pm.
Ed has ditched his rock-and-roll lifestyle since becoming a dad, and when he’s not on tour, he likes to stick to a strict 9-5 workday, so he and his other half can be tucked up in bed nice and early.
Speaking last year, he said: “The other night my wife was in LA and we had a Mexican takeaway and were in bed at 8.30pm. It was like the perfect evening.
“My work now is very structured. I work 9 to 5. I go into work at 9am and finish at 5pm, no matter what.
“Some producers work mad hours and I say to them, ‘If you don’t show up at 9am or between 9am and 10am, I am off’. We are either working or not working.
“I wanted to be present then after six months, I wanted to get structure in. It was really wholesome.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson has registered four new songs for his second solo album.
The 30-year-old singer – who shot to fame in One Direction – has been hard at work on his follow-up to 2020’s ‘Walls’, and has co-written a bunch of tracks with former ‘Fame Academy’ winner David Sneddon and Hurts’ Theo David Hutchcraft.
According to listings on PRS and ASCAP, the songs are: ‘Silver Tongues’, ‘Pre-tender’, ‘Saturdays’ and ‘She Is Beauty, We Are World Class’.
David went on to co-write hits for huge stars, including Lana Del Rey, Lewis Capaldi and Hurts, after winning the first series of BBC One music competition ‘Fame Academy’ back in 2002.
There is still no official release date or title for the LP, though it has been claimed it could arrive before the end of the year.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column in February: “Louis has been working really hard and the music sounds great. So far, about half to three-quarters of the album is done. Hopefully it will be out by the end of the year, but Louis is keen not to rush things for the sake of it.
“Fans will genuinely love what he’s come up with. It’s his best work yet.”
Louis previously admitted that some songs on his first album were “truer to [him] than others” and with album two he wants to ensure he’s “owned” everything he’s trying to say.
He explained: “I’m very, very excited. I had basically pencilled down a plan before corona took over our lives. And now it’s kind of given me a little bit of time to really get into what I want to say and what I want things to sound like. Because, you know, I was really proud of my first record, but there were moments that I felt were truer to me than others. I think that there were some songs where I took slightly more risk and owned what I love, saying, ‘This is who I want to be’. So I want to take a leaf out of their book.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky was so late to his support gig that headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers had to perform first.
The 33-year-old rapper was due to follow opening act Thundercat at the ‘By The Way’ rockers’ concert at Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford on Wednesday evening (22.06.22).
But as he was running so behind schedule, Anthony Kiedis and co were forced to play his slot, meaning the ‘Praise The Lord’ hitmaker ended up becoming the headliner, much to the dismay of RHCP fans.
One gig-goer tweeted: “A$AP Rocky has somehow just ruined a Red Hot Chili Peppers gig.”
Another wrote: “Been going to gigs for 30 odd years and never seen anything like it. Many disappointed fans. Bizarre end to the night.”
The 50,000 crowd members were given notice of the swap on signs in the venue, which read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, A$AP Rocky will now play immediately after the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
The late show comes after the hip-hop star – who recently welcomed his first child with long-time partner Rihanna – was granted bail for $550,000 after he was arrested in connection with a shooting.
Rocky – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – was detained by police when his private plane flew into Los Angeles International Airport on April 20 in relation to an alleged incident that took place around 10.20pm on November 6, 2021.
His attorney, Alan Jackson, confirmed his client had been arrested by Los Angeles police.
The victim reportedly told cops the ‘Everyday’ rapper was walking with two others in the street when he approached him with a handgun. The unnamed victim alleged the rapper shot at him three or four times, and believed one of the bullets had grazed his left hand.
According to ET Canada, Rocky was released at 3.27pm PT after posting bail.
LAPD Public Information Officer Lee told the outlet: “Yes, he was released.”
Rocky had been in Barbados with his then-pregnant girlfriend Rihanna but it was unclear if the ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker was with him when he returned to the US from his vacation before he was arrested.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink Floyd have announced a physical release of ‘Hey Hey Rise Up’.
The ‘Comfortably Numb’ hitmakers brought out the Ukraine benefit single – their first new song in 25 years – digitally in April but they have now announced it will be available on both a seven-inch vinyl and on CD on 15 July in the UK, Europe and other markets, followed by 3 August in Japan.
However, fans in North America, Canada, Australia and Mexico won’t be able to get their hands on a copy until 21 October.
The B-Side to the track will be a reworked version of ‘A Great Day For Freedom’, which first appeared on the group’s 1994 album ‘The Division Bell’ but has been reimagined by David Gilmour based on the original tapes for the song.
David – who has Ukrainian family – explained the band wanted to draw attention to Russia’s invasion with the song and raise money, with all proceeds going to Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief.
He said in a statement: “We want to express our support for Ukraine and in that way, show that most of the world thinks that it is totally wrong for a superpower to invade the independent democratic country that Ukraine has become.
“We, like so many, have been feeling the fury and the frustration of this vile act of an independent, peaceful democratic country being invaded and having its people murdered by one of the world’s major powers.”
The song also features drummer Nick Mason, bassist Guy Pratt and keyboardist Nitin Sawhney, as well as a recording of Andriy Khlyvnyuk – the singer of Ukrainian band Boombox – who can be heard singing ‘The Red Virburnum’ in Kyiv.
In March, Pink Floyd and David removed their music from streaming services in Russia and Belarus in a show of support for Ukraine.
David said at the time: “Russian soldiers, stop killing your brothers. There will be no winners in this war.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Adele will be supported by an-female line-up at her two BST Hyde Park shows, including Kacey Musgraves and Gabrielle.
The 34-year-old singer took to Twitter to unveil the support acts for her forthcoming gigs at the iconic London venue on July 1st and July 2nd, with Mahalia and Self Esteem also set to play on the main stage.
She wrote on Twitter: “The line up for my Hyde Park shows next week is going to blow your socks off!! An all female bill, from new artists that I’m obsessed with to the heavenly @KaceyMusgraves to one of my favorite artists of all time @GabrielleUk who I’ve loved since I was 4!! (sic)”
Nilufer Yanya, Tiana Major9, Chrissi, Bonnie Kemplay, Ruti and Tamzene complete the supporting acts, and Adele “can’t wait” to share the main stage with all of her special guests.
She tweeted: “It’s going to be incredible, there’s a whole host of us performing all day, I can’t wait to share the main stage with you ladies”
Country singer Kacey seemed particularly excited about supporting the ‘Easy on Me’ hitmaker.
She wrote on Instagram: “HYDE F****** PARK with @adele and a bunch of other talented queens. July 1st + 2nd (sic)”
Gabrielle is also “excited” to be part of the all-female line-up.
She wrote: “I love and adore @adele. I am so incredibly honoured and excited to be part of this amazing line up. Hyde Park I will see you soon (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney is set to play an 800-capacity Glastonbury warm-up show in Frome, Somerset this evening (24.06.22).
The Beatles legend had tickets for the once-in-a-lifetime gig made available on a first-come, first-served basis, with fans invited to queue up at the Cheese and Grain venue to purchase a ticket for just £25.
Within an hour of throwing open the doors at 5pm on Thursday (24.06.22), they’d sold out.
The set promises to be “an afternoon full of wonderful surprises”.
On the venue’s website, it was announced: “In 24 hours time from now Paul McCartney will be performing live, here in Frome, at the Cheese and Grain.
“What an incredible opportunity to watch Paul warm up for his Glastonbury headlining performance this weekend.
“What an amazing treat … we are told this won’t be his normal set either so should be an afternoon full of wonderful surprises.”
Over the years, the tiny venue has paid host to huge acts, including Foo Fighters, Fatboy Slim and Robert Plant.
McCartney, 80, is set to make history as the oldest solo headliner of Glastonbury when he closes the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday night (25.06.22).
The ‘Let it Be’ hitmaker last played the world-famous music festival in 2004.
McCartney was due to perform in 2020 for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary, before the event was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s been reported that the ‘Eleanor Rigby’ hitmaker is planning a virtual duet with late bandmate John Lennon.
On his recent ‘Got Back’ tour of the US, McCartney performed a rendition of the Beatles classic ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’ from 1970’s ‘Let it Be’ and was able to sing with his late friend – who was assassinated, aged 40, in December 1980 – when footage from Peter Jackson’s ‘Get Back’ docu-series beamed on a big screen behind him.
He told the crowd: “Peter Jackson said: ‘I can pull John’s voice out if you’d like me to.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has released her new song ‘Carolina’.
The song is featured in the upcoming movie version of ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ – the 2018 murder mystery novel by American author Delia Owens.
The flick stars 24-year-old ‘Normal People’ actress Daisy Edgar-Jones, and is produced by 46-year-old actress Reese Witherspoon.
The ‘You Belong With Me’ singer wrote the track “alone” in a bid to authentically channel the “loneliness and independence” of the female lead.
Taylor tweeted: “About a year and a half ago I wrote a song about the story of a girl who always lived on the outside, looking in. Figuratively and literally. The juxtaposition of her loneliness and independence. Her curiosity and fear all tangled up. Her persisting gentleness and the world’s betrayal of it.”
The lyrics include, “You didn’t see me here” and “There are places I will never go to / Things that only Carolina will ever know.”
She then produced it alongside long-time friend and music collaborator Aaron Dessner.
The pair co-produced the Grammy winner’s critically-acclaimed eighth and ninth studio albums, ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’.
The ‘cardigan’ singer previously teased alongside a clip of the song: “I wrote the song ‘Carolina’ alone and asked my friend @aarondessner to produce it. I wanted to create something haunting and ethereal to match this mesmerizing story.”
Pointing fans to the trailer, she wrote: “You’ll hear it fully soon, but for now check out the @crawdadsmovie trailer for a clip!”
The ‘Blank Space’ singer also discussed her love for the novel the film is based on, in addition to praising both Daisy and Reese.
Taylor added: “Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago. As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Bring Me The Horizon landed Kerrang! Awards on Thursday night (23.06.22).
The alternative music magazine’s annual prize-giving took place at London’s Shoreditch Town Hall, with the likes of Green Day, Fall Out Boy, Weezer, twenty one pilots and Biffy Clyro among those in attendance at the first ceremony since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
American pop punk veterans Green Day were honoured with the Icon Award presented by Marshall, while ‘Sugar, We’re Going Down’ rockers Fall Out Boy landed their sixth Kerrang! trophy, the Inspiration Award.
Weezer were inducted into the Kerrang! Hall Of Fame in honour of their 30-year career, having sold 35 million records sold worldwide.
Bring Me The Horizon’s ‘DiE4u’ was named Best Song and Bob Vylan scooped Best Album for ‘Bob Vylan Presents The Price Of Life’.
Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro beat Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, Loathe, Venom Prison and Neck Deep to be crowned Best British Act presented by Dead Man’s Fingers Rum.
Elsewhere, twenty one pilots nabbed Best Live Act presented by Music Venue Trust and Poppy was crowned Best International Act.
Nova Twins landed Best British Breakthrough, while Wargasm landed the New Noise Award.
Amyl and the Sniffers were named Best International Breakthrough.
The 2022 edition saw the introduction of two new accolades, The Disruptor Award and The Grassroots Award.
The former went to doom-trap star Mimi Barks and was presented by ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ icon Bimini Bon Boulash.
The Grassroots prize was awarded to activist Janey Starling, the co-director of feminist campaign group Level-Up.
Kerrang! Editor Luke Morton said: “The alternative music scene is more exciting than ever in 2022, and this year’s Kerrang! Awards underlines our commitment to supporting new music and championing the underdogs. OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish says she owes “95 per cent” of her music career to fellow Glastonbury headliner Sir Paul McCartney and The Beatles.
The ‘Lost Cause’ hitmaker will become the youngest artist to headline the legendary music festival’s Pyramid Stage tonight (24.06.22), while the ‘Yesterday’ hitmaker, who plays Saturday night (25.06.22), is the oldest solo headliner at the age of 80.
Billie admits it’s “bonkers” that she is headlining the same festival as her idol.
In a one-off print edition of NME magazine to celebrate her history-making set, she said: “It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you’re from, what you look like or who you are: you can do this s***.
“My name next to theirs and being on the same level as them … it’s bonkers. I remember Kendrick headlined a festival I went to when I was 14, and I couldn’t believe he was headlining this small festival because he was so huge. And now I’m headlining the same festival as him and Paul McCartney … are you kidding me? The Beatles were what raised me. My love for music I feel 95 per cent owes to the Beatles and Paul. It’s insane to think about.”
The ‘bad guy’ hitmaker was booked to play the John Peel Stage in 2019, but she ended up playing The Other Stage, the second biggest stage, following her meteoric rise to global superstardom.
And while her set went down a storm with festival-goers, the ‘Happier Than Ever’ singer was actually contending with a number of technical glitches.
Billie recalled: “It was a quite busy time in my life, but after the fact I realised how big a deal it was and was like, ‘Oh, s***!’”
She continued: “It was a real mixed show – so many things weren’t working, so many technical issues that were just driving me mad.
“It’s really hard. You’ll be on stage during a show and think, ‘This is the worst show I’ve ever done’, but the crowd could care less; they’re just happy to be there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne has unveiled his new solo LP ‘Patient Number 9’, and released the title track featuring guitar legend Jeff Beck.
The Prince of Darkness has made his music comeback with his first new music since his 2020 LP ‘Ordinary Man’.
The seven-minute epic features Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith on drums, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo on bass, Zakk Wylde on guitars and keyboards, and producer Andrew Watt on backing vocals, guitars, and keyboards.
Black Sabbath fans will be pleased to hear Ozzy’s bandmate Tony Iommi is featured on two tracks, ‘No Escape’ and ‘Degradation Rules’.
The star-studded collection features a posthumous recording of the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Eric Clapton, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan and Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney also contributed to the 12-track LP.
‘Patient Number 9’ will be released on September 9.
Ozzy’s music comeback comes as he recovers from life-changing surgery.
The ‘Dreamer’ singer has been “recuperating” at home after undergoing the major operation last week.
Ozzy thanked fans for their well-wishes and confirmed he was back home recovering.
In an update shared on social media, he said: “I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably.
“I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers, and well wishes during my recovery.”
The legendary singer’s wife Sharon, 69, had shared that her spouse was heading in for “a very major operation”.
Without specifying the procedure or the nature of it, Sharon had said on ‘The Talk’: “[Ozzy] has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there.
“It’s really going to determine the rest of his life.”
Ozzy has Parkinson’s disease and previously suffered a nasty fall and dislodged metal rods placed in his spine following a quad-bike accident in 2003.
He previously opened up about his Parkinson’s diagnosis in a candid interview on US TV, in which he admitted the condition is “just another thing on my plate”.
He said: “Well the one question from me was, ‘Is it a terminal illness?’, and the guy says, ‘No, but life is’.
“It’s just another thing on my plate I have got to deal with. I’m not in the slightest worried about it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gabrielle has announced the ’30 Years of Dreaming Tour’.
The ‘Sunshine’ hitmaker will embark on a UK tour next autumn to celebrate three decades since the release of her 1993 classic ‘Dreams’.
Gabrielle, 52, said: “Going on tour to celebrate 30 years of ‘Dreams’ is just amazing. I can’t wait to party with everyone and celebrate the record that launched my career three decades ago! Time sure does fly when you are having fun.”
The run kicks off on October 6 in Guildford, and includes a stop at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall on October 31, before wrapping in Southend on November 1.
The tour announcement comes as it was announced that the ‘Out of Reach’ hitmaker will be among the support acts for Adele at American Express presents BST Hyde Park on July 1 and 2.
She said: “I’m so thrilled and proud to be part of what will be an incredible day, headlined by an artist I love and adore. Adele is a phenomenal singer songwriter and it is an honour to be asked to join her at British Summer Time.”
The ‘Hello’ hitmaker personally chose Gabrielle as she has been a huge fan from a young age.

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C has hinted the Spice Girls could play Glastonbury in the future, and is hopeful Victoria Beckham will agree to the “dream” gig.
The iconic 90s girl group – also comprising Mel B (Scary), Geri Horner (Ginger) and Emma Bunton (Baby) – reunited for a tour in 2019, without Victoria, but Sporty Spice has a “good feeling” that Posh Spice would say yes to playing the legendary music festival.
Speaking to BBC Entertainment Correspondent Colin Paterson live from the festival in Somerset, England, where Melanie played a DJ set on Thursday (23.06.22), she said: “It’s the dream, the absolute dream, yeah, we would love to do it … You know what, the girls and I, we have chatted about it. You know, it’s the biggest stage in the world, we have the best festival in the world right here.”
Quizzed on whether they could persuade the fashion designer to do Glasto with them, she replied: “Hmm, I have a good feeling.”
The 48-year-old star has made no secret of the fact she would love the ‘Say You’ll Be There’ hitmakers to play Glastonbury, they just need a call from organisers Emily and Michael Eavis.
The ‘Who I Am’ singer previously urged fans to start a petition to campaign for them to be booked for the festival.
Speaking on the ‘Reign with Josh Smith’ podcast last year, she said: “I don’t think we’ve been asked in all honesty, we haven’t been asked to do it, but I do believe it could be the thing that would see all five girls on stage. So should we start a petition?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolf Alice have landed back on British soil in time for their Glastonbury set after their flight was cancelled.
The ‘Moaning Lisa Smile’ group feared not being able to make it back in time for their performance at Worthy Farm on Friday (24.06.22) after their flight from Los Angeles to Heathrow Airport was cancelled and they were left stranded.
They tweeted on Thursday (23.06.22): “Our flights been cancelled and we need to get to glastonbury not joking (sic)”
The ‘Delicious Things’ group had even asked if anyone had a private jet to save the day.
They asked their followers: “Has anyone got a private jet in La? (sic)”
The Mercury Prize winners ended up having to fly from Los Angeles to Seattle to get a direct flight to London Heathrow.
After a gruelling travel experience, Ellie Rowsell and co confirmed they had arrived back in London on their Instagram Story, just hours ahead of their performance on the Pyramid Stage.
They will now make the 139-mile journey from London to Glastonbury in Somerset, South West England.
Wolf Alice are due on stage at 4.45pm.
Billie Eilish is the headliner tonight.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Chemical Brothers have pulled out of Glastonbury as Tom Rowlands recovers from COVID-19.
The electronic music duo – completed by Ed Simons – were due to play under the Arcadia spider at Worthy Farm this evening (24.06.22), however, after Tom and members of their crew tested positive for the virus this week, it was anticipated that they may have to miss their set.
Now, the ‘Galvanize’ hitmakers have confirmed they have been forced to axe the performance much to their “frustration”.
In a social media statement, they said: “We are very sorry to announce that we won’t be DJing at Arcadia this evening at Glastonbury.
“We were so excited to be back in the fields and to celebrate the return of the festival, as we were to be playing in Cork on Thursday night. We were hoping that more days of rest would allow Tom to recover from Covid, this hasn’t so far been the case.”
They promised to update fans about their York concert on Sunday (26.06.22).
“We are hoping that Tom will recover in time to play the scheduled Castle Howard show in York on Sunday and will update with progress as soon as possible via our social channels.
“We share the disappointment and frustration at not being able to do what we do with all of you.’
“Love is all, Tom and Ed.”
They had already cancelled their Cork concert due to the COVID-19 cases, two days before their Glastonbury set.
They announced: “The Chemical Brothers are sorry to announce they have had to reschedule their show at Musgrave Park, Cork, Ireland on Thursday June 23rd, 2022, due to Covid in band and crew. The show will be rescheduled to 2023. A further announcement on rescheduled date will be made in due course.”
The Chemical Brothers previously insisted there’s nowhere more “exciting” to play than Glastonbury.
The ‘Hey Boy Hey Girl’ hitmakers had a “religious experience” when they saw Orbital perform at the festival in 1994, and after being booked for their 12th appearance in 2019, they insisted they enjoy the gig just as much as they did the first time around.
Ed said: “We both had a religious experience [seeing Orbital]. I still get tingly when I think about it. We wanted to do that.
“It’s still to be the most exciting concert you can play.”
The pair broke records in 2000 by performing in front of what was believed to be the largest crowd in the festival’s history but can barely remember the show, so try now to take in the moments much more.
Tom said: “Early on you think everything’s going to last forever, whereas now you think, realistically, how many more times are we going to get to do this amazing thing? You become more aware of it.”
The pair have a busy summer ahead and will headline London’s All Points East in August.
