OHMYGOSSIP — A-ha are back with their first new music in seven years.
The Norwegian synth-pop legends – comprising Magne Furuholmen, Morten Harket and Paul Waaktaar-Savoy – have released the new single ‘I’m In’ taken from their upcoming album, ‘True North’, the long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s ‘Cast in Steel’.
The ‘Take On Me’ hitmakers have gone in a fresh direction, and to accompany the new record they made a film of the band recording the songs last year in Bodø, the Norwegian city located 90km above the Arctic Circle.
Paul said: “With every album we tweak it, to see if there’s a different way to go about it.”
The lead single has a poignant message behind it.
Magne explains it’s “a song about total commitment and a show of support for someone who is troubled. Real commitment is a leap of faith. Everyone knows how difficult it can be to offer commitment and support unconditionally, but this is what it takes to make anything worthwhile happen – love, friendship, change, self-improvement, careers, a better world. Easier said than done of course but it begins with an attitude, then uttering the words. After this it is all hard work to realise whatever potential your commitment has in the world. Without this attitude everything just gets bogged down with conflicting thoughts, doubts and fear. Just say it: ‘I’m in’.”
The trio ended up working with the Arctic Philharmonic on the tracks, and the orchestra appear in the film.
Paul shared: “First, we had the idea to record a studio session live.
“Then, to film a studio session. That grew into more of a production with the Norwegian orchestra, the Arctic Philharmonic, who we have collaborated with.”
Magne added: “‘True North’ is a letter from a-ha, from the Arctic Circle, a poem from the far north of Norway with new music.”
The film will be released in select cinemas in late summer.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay wants to keep performing and making music for “50 years”.
The ‘Hold Back The River’ hitmaker has just released his third studio album, ‘Leap’, featuring his most vulnerable lyrics to date, and he has admitted it takes a lot of “courage” for him to perform for his fans and he’s vowed to continue facing his fears to play for years to come.
In an honest interview with Atwood magazine, James confessed: “10 years into doing this professionally, that hunger hasn’t changed, and it hasn’t got any easier, either: It takes the exact same courage to do this today as it did on my first open mic night.
“So if I want to do this for the next 50 years – and I absolutely do, with all my heart – I’m going to have to hold on to that courage, and continue to take risks. Really, I have no choice but to leap.”
The 31-year-old star – who became a father for the first time to daughter Ada Violet, whom he has with childhood sweetheart Lucy Smith, in October – has been open about his struggles with anxiety and impostor syndrome and has felt like wanting to abandon music in the past.
He told the publication: “My relationship with the experience of just playing with the guitar and my voice, it’s been a unique relationship. I’ve always known it it’ll sort of be there for me. I don’t wanna say I ever like fully abandoned it, but I think like a sort of moody teenager, there were times when I wanted to sort of step further away from it. And I wonder if I’ll have those times again. I don’t know. And I know and I’ve known in the past how much I sort of love and cherish my sort of ability, I suppose, to be able to do that.”
However, his new album – the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Electric Light’ – comes from a place of optimism and hope.
He said: “There’s a shift on this album towards optimism and hope.
“Albeit a pretty realistic, bull****-free take on hope. But that’s the point: you can’t achieve anything without taking a gamble: you’ve got to leap.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin’s partner Dakota Johnson inspired him to make Coldplay’s concerts more inclusive.
The ‘Yellow’ hitmaker has revealed the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star introduced him to Subpacs, which enable deaf and hard-of-hearing fans to hear the music through vibrations.
Speaking on ‘CBS Mornings’, Chris revealed Finneas – brother and collaborator of Billie Eilish – uses a Subpac on stage and the ‘High Note’ star got the 45-year-old musician one for Christmas to use on his band’s ‘The Music of the Spheres World Tour’.
He said: “My partner, she said, ‘I got you a Christmas present, a Subpac.
“She said, ‘It’s like what Finneas wears on stage when he’s with Billie [Eilish].’ And it vibrates, so it’s useful for someone like Finneas to hear where the one is on the bass drum.”
The ‘Paradise’ hitmakers also have interpreters on stage.
The 32-year-old actress and the ‘My Universe’ singer have been together since 2017.
And although there is a 12-year age-gap between them, Dakota recently insisted that she feels older than she actually is.
She explained: “‘I feel both 48 and 26. I’ve had a lot of life in my life. I had a lot of life really young, so I think I feel older.”
Spilling details of their relationship, the ‘Lost Daughter’ star also revealed that they prefer to spend their down-time together at home in Point Dume, Malibu.
She said: “We’ve been together for quite a while and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it’s nice to be at home and be cosy and private. Most of the partying takes place inside of my house.”
Chris has daughter Apple, 18, and son Moses, 16, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo performed ‘Torn’ with Natalie Imbruglia at a show in London on Thursday night (06.07.22).
The pop star kicked off the first of two London shows at the Eventim Apollo venue in Hammersmith and she thrilled the crowd when she introduced former ‘Neighbours’ star Natalie to the stage for a performance of her huge 1997 hit track.
Olivia previously showed off her love of the song by performing it at a show in Manchester, England on July 3 – but this time she was able to sing it with Natalie herself.
It’s the latest in a line line of celebrity collaborations for Olivia during her ‘SOUR’ tour. Olivia performed with pop star Lily Allen at Glastonbury Festival in June with the pair singing the track ‘F*** You’ and dedicating it to America’s Supreme Court following the controversial ruling on abortion.
Olivia also performed with Alanis Morissette in Los Angeles with the pair belting out ‘You Oughta Know’ while she also teamed up with Avril Lavigne to sing ‘Complicated’ in Toronto, Canada.
Olivia recently celebrated the first anniversary of the release of her record-breaking debut album, ‘SOUR’ which dropped on May 21, 2021. The ‘Good 4 U’ hitmaker’s LP broke a world record for the biggest opening week for an album by a female artist in Spotify history and the 19-year-old pop star admitted she is eternally “grateful” to those who made it possible.

OHMYGOSSIP — Paolo Nutini was too shy to ask Danielle Haim to feature on his new song ‘Acid Eyes’.
The ‘New Shoes’ hitmaker has revealed the track on his comeback album, ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’, was penned with the Haim star in mind, but his nerves got the better of him when it came to asking her to duet with him.
In a rare interview with The Sun newspaper, Paolo said: “I wrote that in my living room. I wanted to try and write a song that maybe Danielle from the Haim girls would sing with me. There’s the two vocals, the high and the low, which I figured was a duet. Everybody said why don’t I ask them to do it but I thought, ‘What if they say no?’. So I didn’t.”
The 35-year-old Scot had previously met Danielle – who is joined by sisters Alana and Este in the pop trio – when her guitarist then-boyfriend Blake Mills was invited to work on Paolo’s last album, 2014’s ‘Caustic Love’.
He recalled: “I met them for the first time when we were making the ‘Caustic Love’ album. We worked with producer Dave Sardy, who brought in Blake Mills to play guitar. At the time his girlfriend was Danielle Haim and she swung by.”
They also partied at Glastonbury in 2014.
Paolo said: “Then last time we played Glastonbury, Haim were backstage when we played The Other Stage and we ended up having a few drinks with them. They were really nice to me and my friends and they are great. And maybe if they hear of this . . . ”
On his fear of rejection, he added: “Honestly, it’s a very human thing to feel anxious. I envy people who think they’ve got it all sussed and under control.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West is being sued over an unauthorised sample used on the ‘Donda 2’ track ‘Flowers’.
The hip-hop legend – who legally changed his name to Ye – has been hit by the lawsuit by Chicago house legend Marshall Jefferson‘s publisher, Ultra International Music Publishing (UIMP).
Filed in a New York federal court earlier this week, Ye has been accused on using Jefferson’s 1986 track ‘Move Your Body’ without being granted permission or providing royalties.
According to the lawsuit, the sample is allegedly “repeated 22 times” on ‘Flowers’.
The ‘Jesus Walks’ rapper is said to have told both Jefferson and UIMP that he is aware he’s used the track.
However, the lawsuit adds: “Despite this acknowledgement, West has not ceased distribution of ‘Flowers.’ Defendants’ conduct is wilful and deliberate.”
It goes on: “Defendants know and have been informed that they do not possess a license to utilise the Composition in the Unauthorized Work, and yet continue to wilfully infringe in blatant disregard of UIMP’s rights of ownership.”
The publisher wants Ye to remove the song from streaming services and is seeking a minimum of $150,000 in statutory damages per infringement, plus legal feels to compensate the loss of earnings from the usage.
Jefferson told Billboard his music has “been sampled thousands of times”.
The 62-year-old musician expressed that he is miffed that “a Black artist” and “a fellow Chicagoan” would take the liberty to use his work without paying him.
The ‘Good Morning’ rapper was also previously sued by Texas Bishop David Paul Moten for sampling his sermons on the track ‘Come To Life’ from his 2021 LP ‘Donda’.
Ye has a history of upsetting fellow artists with his sample use.
In 2019, Chaka Khan confessed she felt “insulted” when he sampled her 1985 track ‘Through the Fire’ on his 2005 breakthrough song of the same name.
Ye recorded the track with his jaw wired shut following a car accident – and although his story “got [her] heart” she was less than impressed when she heard the finished single.
Chaka – who had given him permission to sample the tune – recalled in 2019: “He called me when he got out of the hospital. He said, ‘You were so instrumental in my healing process. I had to change the words a little bit to the song, but I had to eat through a wire, you know, and I was wired shut, through a straw.’
“It meant that much to me, and it really got my heart.”
When she heard the song for the first time, the ‘Ain’t Nobody’ hitmaker was furious when she heard the hook had been extremely sped up.
She said: “I was p****. I was a little insulted – not insulted, I thought it was stupid.”
The ‘I Feel For You’ singer went on to admit that if she’d known he’d planned to change her vocals, she would have said “hell no” to him sampling her original song.
However, Chaka – who admitted she’s made money from ‘Through the Wire’ – has never told the 45-year-old star how she felt.
She explained: “I mean, what can I say?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B has released her Kanye West and Lil Durk collaboration ‘Hot S***’.
The ‘Hustlers’ actress had been sitting on the track for “almost three years”.
She said recently: “I think this record is actually older than ‘WAP.’ It is everyone’s favourite.”
Kanye’s verse includes a nod to the late fashion icon Virgil Abloh, who was artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton.
He raps: “When we lost Virg’, I was on the verge, mm-mm.
“I just hit the Louis store, I had to splurge, mm-mm.”
The song’s release comes after the rapper admitted she was “upset” over the execution of the song and very nearly didn’t release it.
Although she agreed to drop the track in the end, the 29-year-old star refuses to make a music video to accompany the song.
During a teary Instagram Live with fans, she said: “I’m just so overwhelmed and so upset. A lot of people have been dropping the ball for the last two months, there has been a lot of miscommunication.
“So I wanted to cancel my release for this week because s*** is not being executed how it’s supposed to. But then I’m like, it’s too drastic. So I will be dropping the song but I will not be releasing a music video with this song.
“I’m just exhausted with everybody. I’m so tired of people not doing their f****** job correctly.”
How the collaboration with the two rappers came about remains unknown, however, Cardi previously admitted she is “too shy” to ask male artists to work with her.
The ‘Up’ hitmaker – who has appeared on songs with the likes of Bruno Mars and Maroon 5 – admitted she doesn’t have the nerve to ask some of her favourite male counterparts to jump on a track with her because she get’s “star-struck” easily and fears she will sound “corny”.
She said: “When female artists are rising, you don’t have to put one down because the others are rising. Every single time a female rapper comes out, people wanna start fake beef. Maybe because they don’t see me [with other women] as often as people want to. The thing is, I’m shy — and really shy to reach out to male artists, to be honest with you. That’s why a lot of collabs that I want, I haven’t gotten yet because I’m scared to reach out. I always get a little star-struck. I be thinking I’m corny, even though I’m funny.”
‘Hot S***’ is Cardi’s first track as the lead artist since November’s ‘Bet It’.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the hip-hop star’s follow-up to her 2018 debut studio album ‘Invasion of Privacy’.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS star j-hope has released his debut solo single, ‘MORE’.
The 28-year-old K-Pop star has served up the first taste of his upcoming album ‘Jack In The Box’, with the rapper heading in a rock direction for his first track since the boy band announced they were venturing into solo projects.
A music video for the song was also released and aims to represent the different sides of j-hope as the star moves through various rooms inside a box.
The full album will arrive on July 15 on streaming services and via Weverse Albums on July 29. The app allows users to download the album, photos and more via QR code.
Record label HYBE said the LP will allow j-hope to “break the mould and grow further”.
BTS’ management team recently clarified the group are not going on hiatus.
It was reported earlier this month that they were going their separate ways and would reunite “someday” but their representatives have insisted their remarks were mistranslated.
A release from their agency HYBE said: “The group will remain active as a team while taking individual journey to further achieve personal growth. [They] will allow themselves to express their individuality through the release of solo albums and collaborations with other artists.”
HYBE’s parent company BIGHIT MUSIC added: “BTS now starts a new chapter with new solo projects as well as group projects. Members will take this time to achieve personal growth through various new activities, and we expect it to further strengthen the foundation for the group’s long-run as a team. BIGHIT MUSIC will actively support the artists.”
Jungkook, 24, released a solo single on June 12 called ‘My You’.
BTS is also comprised of Jin, 29, Suga, 29, RM, 27, V, 26, and Jimin, also 26.

OHMYGOSSIP — Red Hot Chili Peppers have cancelled their Glasgow gig on Friday night (01.07.22) due to “illness”.
The ‘Californication’ rockers will no longer be playing Bellahouston Park in the Scottish city as planned and are working to reschedule the show.
A social media statement read: “Due to illness RHCP will not be able to perform in Glasgow tonight July 1. We are working on ways to reschedule. Pls hold onto your tickets and wait for an update soon. RHCP love Scotland and are deeply disappointed not to be able to perform the show. Thank you for your understanding. (sic)”
The gig cancellation comes after A$AP Rocky was so late to his support gig on the tour that headliners RHCP had to perform first.
The 33-year-old rapper was due to follow opening act Thundercat at the ‘By The Way’ rockers’ concert at Manchester’s Emirates Old Trafford last week.
But as he was running so behind schedule, Anthony Kiedis and co were forced to play his slot, meaning the ‘Praise The Lord’ hitmaker ended up becoming the headliner, much to the dismay of RHCP fans.
One gig-goer tweeted: “A$AP Rocky has somehow just ruined a Red Hot Chili Peppers gig.”
Another wrote: “Been going to gigs for 30 odd years and never seen anything like it. Many disappointed fans. Bizarre end to the night.”
The 50,000 crowd members were given notice of the swap on signs in the venue, which read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, A$AP Rocky will now play immediately after the Red Hot Chili Peppers.”
His lateness came after the hip-hop star – who recently welcomed his first child with long-time partner Rihanna – was granted bail for $550,000 after he was arrested in connection with a shooting.
Rocky – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – was detained by police when his private plane flew into Los Angeles International Airport on April 20 in relation to an alleged incident that took place around 10.20pm on November 6, 2021.
The victim reportedly told cops the ‘Everyday’ rapper was walking with two others in the street when he approached him with a handgun. The unnamed victim alleged the rapper shot at him three or four times, and believed one of the bullets had grazed his left hand.
Rocky was released after posting bail.
He had been in Barbados with his then-pregnant girlfriend Rihanna but it was unclear if the ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker was with him when he returned to the US from his vacation before he was arrested.

OHMYGOSSIP — Goo Goo Dolls will release their 13th studio album ‘Chaos in Bloom’ on August 12.
The ‘Iris’ hitmakers – comprising John Rzeznik and Robby Takac – recorded the 10-track LP amid the global pandemic at Dreamland Studios just outside Woodstock, New York.
Frontman John – who produced the album himself for the first time – said: “’Chaos in Bloom’ reminded us how special this whole thing is and to cherish the relationships that we have together.
“Where we’ve been, and where we’re going.”
Bassist and songwriter Robby added: “I’ve been trying to have a relationship with the bigger picture and refining happiness and what it means from that perspective.”
The lead single, ‘Yeah, I Like You’, is out now and is about the rise of internet celebrities who are “famous for doing nothing”.
John, 56, said: “In a world that is just drowning in social media and internet stars, many of whom are certainly talented, but many confirm that in 2022 you can be famous for doing nothing.
“Celebrity in this age has a very quick burn. It was hard not to be consumed by it during the pandemic.”
The frontman previously opened up about how the global pandemic has made him even more thankful he’s been able to make a living and support his family as a rock star.
He said: “I feel this real sense of gratitude that I’ve actually been able to have a career and have more than one song that people know. I’m really proud of that.
“You know, those songs gave me a life and a way to take care of my family … and it’s fun. I never thought in a million years that I would ever get to play music for a living. That’s something that never fades from me.”
Last year, the alternative rockers released the career-spanning collection ‘Rarities’.
In 2020, Goo Goo Dolls dropped the festive LP ‘It’s Christmas All Over’.
Their 12th studio album, ‘Miracle Pill’, was released the year before.
The band will hit the road for their first US tour since 2019 this summer, kicking off on July 15, 2022 in Nampa, Idaho.

OHMYGOSSIP — Scott Mills is stepping down from his BBC Radio 1 weekday show to replace Steve Wright in his afternoon slot.
Wright, 67, announced he was leaving his long-running afternoon programme after 24 years, and a total of 40 years with the BBC.
Mills’ co-host Chris Stark, 35, will also be stepping down from their popular Radio 1 show, which airs from 1.30pm until 3pm.
It is the latest reshuffle at the corporation, after Radio 1 breakfast DJ Nick Grimshaw, 37, and ‘Future Sounds’ presenter Annie Mac, 43, left in 2021.
Wright made the announcement during his show on Friday afternoon (01.07.22), saying his boss had told him she wanted to do “something different” with his mid-afternoon slot.
The broadcasting veteran added: “At the beginning of this year, my friend and boss Helen Thomas, head of Radio 2, said she wanted to do something different in the afternoons.
“Now, I’ve been doing this programme for 24 years at Radio 2, and so how can I possibly complain? The support and creative freedom that I’m given is fantastic at Radio 2 and really I can’t hog the slot forever, so let’s give somebody else a go.
“Later this year, fans of the afternoon show can go to BBC Sounds to hear a ‘Serious Jockin’’ series and I’m also looking forward to developing and creating some exciting new digital programmes and podcasts, which will feature elements of the afternoon show. I get so much creative freedom at the BBC, I have no complaints.
“They’ve always been fair and kind to me. We’re not done yet. Afternoons will finish in September, we’ll move onto new programmes and projects in October, and ‘Love Songs’ will continue every Sunday morning.”
There seemed to be no ill feeling towards Mills, as Wright hailed him as a “brilliant and versatile” host.
Head of Radio 2 Ms Thomas said: “Steve’s a legendary radio broadcaster and producer, known for his passion and commitment in keeping millions of listeners entertained each weekday afternoon.”
Mills’ new show be an hour shorter than Wright’s and will air from 2pm until 4pm.
He said about the change: “Time actually does fly when you’re having fun, and that’s certainly been the case over the past 24 years at my beloved Radio 1.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has predicted real-life events in his songwriting.
The band is back with a new album called ‘The Sick, the Dying … and the Dead!’, and Dave explained that the title track was written before the COVID-19 outbreak and is actually about the bubonic plague, which blighted Europe during the Middle Ages.
He told Metal Hammer magazine: “Yeah it was written before (COVID-19) … But I think if anyone wants to take the p*** about me being Nostradamus, there are plenty of other songs … But this one was inspired by another virus, the plague … After the song was written, I knew people would think it was about COVID.”
Another song on the album also seemingly foretold events before they happened, as he wrote ‘Dogs of Chernobyl’ about Ukraine prior to the Russian invasion of the country.
Dave was asked whether he “saw the war in Ukraine coming” and he insisted the track has nothing to do with what has happened in recent months.
Speaking about the track, he explained: “Believe it or not, it’s a love song.”
The music star added that the record was inspired by a movie he watched about the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine in 1986.
The rocker also revealed he used several passages in the song which were written by the radiologist who treated him for throat cancer.
He shared: “I said to him that I needed a couple of phrases and some information about the radiation poisoning when everyone got sick at Chernobyl, so he wrote this masterful piece for me and I used it in full.”

The festival – which would have been Travis Scott’s first headline performance since the Astroworld tragedy – was due to take place in Las Vegas from 2nd to 4th September but has now been axed due to a “combination of logistics, timing and production issues”.
An announcement on the festival’s Instagram page stated: “We’re sorry to announce that a combination of logistics, timing and production issues have forced us to cancel Day N Vegas for 2022. The refund process will begin immediately, and funds will appear back to your account within the next 2-4 weeks. All orders will be refunded to the credit card used to complete purchase. Travis was due to perform at Day N Vegas 2021 but pulled out following the Astroworld tragedy, in which 10 people died and hundreds more were injured in a crowd surge that occurred during his headline set.

OHMYGOSSIP — Debbie Sledge wants to play the Glastonbury Legends Slot with her new version of Sister Sledge.
The 67-year-old singer now tours her group’s greatest hits as Sister Sledge ft. Sledgendary, with a line-up that is now comprised of herself, her daughter Camille Sledge, son David Sledge and her nephew Thaddeus, the son of original Sledge member Joni Sledge, who died aged 60 in 2017. Singer Tanya Ti-et completes the group.
Sister Sledge performed at the world famous musical festival – which takes place at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, South West England – back in 2004, being the second act of the day to step foot on the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday, which was headlined by Sir Paul McCartney.
After witnessing the incredible Sunday afternoon sets of the likes of Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie and Nile Rodgers – who collaborated with Sister Sledge during the disco era – Debbie is desperate to return to Glastonbury in the Legends Slot.
When asked if she would love to return to Glastonbury in the coveted place on the bill, Debbie answered: “I would love that.”
She added: “We had a chance to appear at Glastonbury back in the day with Joni – who I just miss a lot – it was wonderful.”
And her daughter Camille echoed her mother’s sentiments, by saying: “I would love it. The fans at Glastonbury are crazy and wild. I love it.”
Sister Sledge ft. Sledgendary are performing in the UK at the ‘Love Supreme Jazz Festival 2022’ this weekend.
Camille believes the new line-up of Sister Sledge has worked so well live is because the next generation have embraced the touring life, both the good and bad parts, just like original member Debbie.
She said: “I love the tour life. We all do! There’s a lot of us Sledges out here!

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna made a surprise appearance at Wireless Festival on Friday (01.07.22) to support ASAP Rocky.
The 34-year-old singer thrilled fans when she was spotted in the crowd at the music festival at Crystal Palace Park in London, where her partner Rocky, 33 – who she recently welcomed her first child with – performed.
Rihanna was dressed in an oversized black Prada jacket as she walked around the festival site with a number of bodyguards.
Rihanna’s former boyfriend Chris Brown – who was found guilty of assaulting her in 2009 – also performed at the event, his first UK festival in 12 years.
J Cole, Playboi Carti, Tyler, The Creator, Little Simz and Ari Lennox are all set to take to the stage over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Rihanna and Rocky were also spotted at a barber shop in London during their visit to the UK.
Before her appearance at Wireless, Rihanna had been keeping a low-profile at her Los Angeles home since giving birth to her first child.
A source previously told PEOPLE: “Rihanna is doing well. They are very excited to be parents. Rihanna is already a wonderful mom.
“Everything Rihanna does, she does it her own way on her own time table, and having a baby is no different. They were just like any other pair of parents-to-be. Yes, they happen to be famous but they’re just the cutest, giddiest young couple that’s expecting kids.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher claims he regularly gets offered “a couple of hundred million dollars” to reform Oasis.
The ‘Holy Mountain’ hitmaker’s former band split up in 2009 following tensions between him and his brother and bandmate Liam Gallagher and he believes record label bosses would agree to anything if the pair agreed to work together again.
He said: “There’s not six months passes where I don’t get someone from Live Nation going, ‘You know there’s a couple of hundred million dollars in it for you’.
“Sony Music (Oasis’s record label) would love it.
“If I picked up the phone today and said I need to make a new Oasis record, you could make the most outlandish demands, you would be on the private jet in half an hour going to do the deal.“ Because they’re like, ‘Right, this is a licence to print money’.”
But Noel is unimpressed by the attitude, insisting executives should be out looking for exciting new talent instead.
He added in a podcast interview: “Whereas really they should be looking for the next Oasis and taking the time to make it great.”
The 55-year-old rocker previously quit drinking during lockdown, but he admitted he was back on the booze following his appearance at Glastonbury last Saturday (25.06.22).
He said: “I was f***ed. I certainly wouldn’t have been able to sing on Sunday night.”
Liam has previously appealed to his estranged brother to get the band back together but he recently admitted he has accepted that his sibling “doesn’t want to”.
Speaking ahead of his Knebworth concerts last month, he said: “[Noel] had his f****** chance to get the band back together and he doesn’t want to. So, I thought, if he doesn’t want to do it, then I’m gonna have to do it and bring it to the people. And that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
