OHMYGOSSIP — Marcus Mumford “faced his demons” on his upcoming debut solo album.
The Mumford and Sons frontman has announced he’s set to release his self-titled LP on September 16.
And as well as revealing his all-star list of featured artists, including Phoebe Bridgers, Brandi Carlile and Clairo, the 35-year-old musician has admitted he went through a challenging time, which inspired the track ‘Cannibal’.
In a handwritten note posted to social media, he penned: “In January 2021, facing demons I danced with for a long time in isolation, I wrote a song called ‘Cannibal’.
“I took it to my friend Blake Mills, and we began the process of making this album, dear to my heart, called (self-titled).
“It comes out September 16th 2022, produced by Blake Mills, and featuring Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo and Monica Martin.”
Last month, Marcus hinted at launching his solo career.
He was reported to have performed some new solo tunes for a handful of attendees at a Spotify event for the Cannes Lions International Festival Of Creativity 2022 in the French Riviera.
A person at the show told the New York Post’s Page Six column: “He just said today is day one for his next thing.”
The star also posted brief clips of himself in the studio, including one in the vocal booth, on social media.
Marcus embarking on a solo career comes after the dramatic exit of Mumford’s banjo player Winston Marshall.
The 34-year-old musician quit the folk band last summer after 14 years, following the controversy he courted for praising a book by right-wing journalist Andy Ngo.
Although Winston stands by his tweet, he admitted he was sorry that his bandmates were held to account for his beliefs.
He wrote: “To call me ‘fascist’ was ludicrous beyond belief. I’ve had plenty of abuse over the years. I’m a banjo player after all. But this was another level.
“And, owing to our association, my friends, my bandmates, were getting it, too. It took me more than a moment to understand how distressing this was for them.
“Despite being four individuals we were, in the eyes of the public, a unit. Furthermore it’s our singer’s [Marcus Mumford] name on the tin.
“That name was being dragged through some pretty ugly accusations, as a result of my tweet.
“The distress brought to them and their families that weekend I regret very much. I remain sorry for that. Unintentionally, I had pulled them into a divisive and totemic issue.”
However, Winston revealed his bandmates stood by him and encouraged him to remain in the band.
He said: “Emotions were high. Despite pressure to nix me they invited me to stay with the band.
“That took courage, particularly in the age of so-called ‘cancel culture’. I made an apology and agreed to take a temporary step back.”
Winston ultimately decided to leave the band in order to avoid having to “self-censor” and so that he could protect his bandmates.
He said: “For me to speak about what I’ve learnt to be such a controversial issue will inevitably bring my bandmates more trouble.
“My love, loyalty and accountability to them cannot permit that.
“I could stay and continue to self-censor but it will erode my sense of integrity. Gnaw my conscience. I’ve already felt that beginning.
“The only way forward is to leave the band. I hope in distancing myself from them I am able to speak my mind without them suffering the consequences.
“I leave with love in my heart and I wish those three boys nothing but the best. I have no doubt their stars will shine long into the future.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Dylan has announced his first UK tour since 2017.
The 81-year-old music icon is set to bring his ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ world tour across the pond in October this year.
Dylan will play four nights at the legendary London Palladium between October 19 and October 24.
The ‘Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door’ hitmaker will then head to the arenas, kicking off at Motorpoint Arena Cardiff in South Wales on October 26, and wrapping with two consecutive nights at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow, Scotland on October 30 and 31.
Dylan has prohibited gig-goers from using their smartphones during his performances and they will be required to place their devices in a locked Yondr bag.

The last time Dylan played on British soil was when he co-headlined London’s BST Hyde Park in 2019 with Neil Young.
His last tour was the ‘Never Ending Tour’ more than five years ago.
Dylan resumed his current global jaunt in the US in March, after being forced to postpone the concerts amid a rise in cases of COVID-19 in 2020.
A statement read at the time: “To all our fans: In the interest of public health and safety and after many attempts to try and reschedule these shows for a workable timeframe this year, it is with deep regret that we announce the US Bob Dylan shows originally scheduled for June/July are cancelled.
“We hope to be back out on the road at the earliest possible time once we are confident that it is safe for both fans and concert staff.
“Please contact your point of purchase for all information on refunds.”
The run is in support of the ‘Lay Lady Lay’ singer’s acclaimed 2020 record ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’, his first studio album of original music since 2012’s ‘Tempest’.
Meanwhile, this month saw a re-recording of Dylan’s 1963 mega-hit ‘Blowin’ In The Wind’ sell for a whopping £1.48million ($1.78million) at auction.

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth has announced his third, self-titled studio album.
The ‘How Long’ hitmaker – who recently professed that the internet “saved my life” after reaching a wider fan base on TikTok – has unveiled the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Voicenotes’, ‘Charlie’, and has thanked fans for helping him make it online.
Alongside the cover art of him leaning on a giant white box with the song titles around him, he wrote on Instagram: “This is the official artwork for my album ‘CHARLIE’. This album was born on the internet, and I’ve had so much fun making it in front of all of you this past year. 2019 me used to think that in order to be an artist, you had to hide away and talk to nobody to make your art. Turns out you make MUCH better art when you involve millions of people in the process. (For me at least.)
“I hope you scream cry every word when I sing these songs on tour because they wouldn’t be here without you. Thank you.”
According to a press release, it’s Charlie’s “most personal record to date, with every song authentically representing a piece of himself.”
It features his track with BTS’ Jungkook, ‘Left and Right’, and previously released singles ‘Light Switch’ and ‘That’s Hilarious’.
The ‘See You Again’ singer also shared a clip of fans’ pleas for him to release the record and thanked them for their “patience”.
He said: “My third album Charlie will be coming out everywhere Oct. 7, 2022.
“Thank you so much for your patience.”
The 30-year-old singer has breathed new life into his career through TikTok, and Charlie admits that the internet has always played a huge role in his success.
The pop star declared: “The internet saved my life in 2003, and it saved my life in 2020.”
The ‘Marvin Gaye’ hitmaker loves using the video-sharing platform because it’s allowed him to connect with his fans.
He said: “What works really well for The Weeknd, only works for him and like two other artists. Me, I need to really show my personality off.
“I wasn’t doing that because I was surrounding myself with producers and record label heads who were like, ‘You are a massive act. You need to go away and work on your art for a while.’ The pandemic made me realise that I have to not only not do that, but the opposite of that. I need to show every step of the process.”
‘Charlie’ is released on October 7 and is available to pre-order now.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam paid tribute to the late Taylor Hawkins on their second night headlining American Express Presents BST Hyde Park.
The US rockers took to the stage in London on Saturday (09.07.22) and during their set, frontman Eddie Vedder took the time to remember the Foo Fighters drummer, who passed away in March.
He said: “There’s another guy who really loved London… we all knew him and loved and respected, and we were enlightened by him. It was one of the brutal losses we’ve had recently. I’m talking about Mr Taylor Hawkins.”
Later in the set, the 57-year-old singer took a moment to acknowledge those fighting against Russia in Ukraine.
He said: “I just want to send one out to the good folks fighting for their homeland back in Ukraine.”
The group had also performed in the park on Friday (08.07.22) and when they came out on stage, Eddie promised to sing “all the songs we didn’t play last night”.
He added: “We are very, very grateful to you – you great bunch of humans. With two years of no shows we’re out of practice, but you’re already better than ever.”
Sure enough, fans assembled at the Great Oak Stage were treated to an overhauled 22-song set, with ‘Animal’, ‘Black’, ‘Rats’ and ‘Yellow Ledbetter’ among the tracks given an airing.
During the show, Johnny Marr – who had been one of the support acts earlier in the day – came out to perform a cover of ‘Throw Your Hatred Down’ before returning for the evening’s final song, a cover of The Who’s ‘Baba O’Reilly’.
As they left the stage, Eddie said: “Thank you for the last two days. Take care of yourselves, take care of our planet. We love you.”
Ahead of their performance, the crowd basking in the late afternoon sun enjoyed a greatest hits from Stereophonics, who were performing the only London show of their 2022 European tour, with ‘Dakota’, ‘Just Looking’,and ‘The Bartender and the Thief’ among the highlights.

OHMYGOSSIP — Steve Jones was too busy getting high on heroin to enjoy the band he started after the Sex Pistols split.
The punk rock guitarist formed The Professionals with former bandmate Paul Cook in 1979.
Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten had quit the ‘Anarchy in the UK’ group the year before, and so the pair shared lead vocals on their later recordings ‘Silly Thing’ and ‘Lonely Boy’.
They recruited Lightning Raiders bassist Andy Allan as a session musician.
But Steve quit in 1982 and he has admitted he still feels bad for Paul.
Speaking to Goldmine magazine, he said: “Well, you know the Pistols broke up, and I unfortunately went down the road of doing heroin.
“Me and Cookie (Paul) started the band because we didn’t know what else to do.
‘Silly Thing’ and ‘Lonely Boy’ were written after we broke up
“Even though it comes under the Sex Pistols umbrella, it wast just me and Cookie that did ‘Silly Thing’.
“This was around the time we were doing the band The Professionals.
“And then ‘Lonely Boy,’ I just wrote that for the movie, ‘The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle’.”
Steve, 66, admits he associates his stint in the group with bad times and feels guilty that he “tortured” Paul, 65.
He added: “It wasn’t a good time for me.
“I feel bad for Cookie, that I tortured him in that period.
“There were some decent songs, but I don’t have good memories when I listen to that stuff.”
However, Paul started the band again in 2015 and continues to tour with a new also comprising Tom Spencer, Chris McCormack and Toshi JC Ogawa.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dee Snider has retired from music to focus on launching a new career in Hollywood.
The ‘Twisted Sister’ star opened up about his future plans in a question and answer session with fans on Twitter – insisting he’ll never tour again because he wants to focus on writing and directing movies as well as working on his first novel.
One fan wrote to the star: “Dee I don’t blame you for not doing stadium tours anymore. Most people don’t know how tough it is to do. I am simply amazed when I see Paul McCarthy or Buddy Guy over 80 up on stage playing. How do they do it??”
Dee then responded by explaining his next movie, writing: “God bless them all! I can only do what’s right for me. And for my retirement I’m writing screenplays, directing a movie, releasing my first fiction novel, producing two animated series, etc. etc. etc. My wife laughs when I tell her I’m retiring!”
When asked if he will record any more new music, he explained: “Never say never, but I don’t see me recording anymore” before adding: “Movies, books, tv, radio, etc.”
Another follower wrote: “Imagine expecting people to remember word for word a song they wrote 35 years ago lmfao,” and the rocked replied: “So I don’t need to remember all my words? (I do.)”
‘Twisted Sister’ disbanded in 2016 following the conclusion of their 40th anniversary tour which came in the aftermath of drummer A. J. Pero’s death the previous year.
Dee has released five solo albums over the last 12 years with the last record, ‘Leave a Scar’ dropping in 2021.

OHMYGOSSIP — Thom Yorke has teased The Smile have new music in the works, including the recently teased single ‘Colours Fly’.
The band – also comprising Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner – previewed the track during their Primavera Sound set in Barcelona last month.
However, the Radiohead frontman has revealed it’s still a “work in progress” along with several other tracks.
He tweeted alongside a clip of the performance: “New one … work in progress … there are a few …”
The Smile released their debut studio album, ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’, in May.
Before its release, Thom, 53, admitted he relished the challenge of making the collection.
He said: “I like trying to find different ways to write lyrics. I like to find different ways to assemble music. I like to learn new instruments, like Jonny.
“It wakes me up in the morning and probably always will, unless I lose my ability to think straight. There isn’t anything else. There’s not like, ‘Now we must move into this area,’ there’s not any sort of aesthetic agenda. You’re influenced by what you listen to. I’m always sort of buying new music.”
The veteran star also revealed that he has two distinctly different ways of making music.
He explained: “With lyrics, it’s something completely different where it’ll either be very quick, very easy, or months and months of chipping away, literally line by line, in the most painstakingly weird anal kind of: trying things, throwing them out, trying things, throwing them out, trying things, throwing them out.
“It gets to the point sometimes where it’s like, ‘well I’ve got this syllable, and I’ve got this consonant, and I’ve got this syllable, and now I’m just going to wait for the rest to turn up.'”

The 34-year-old singer had a surprise in store for fans on his Apple Music 1 show ‘blonded Radio’ at the weekend.
The first episode on Sunday (10.07.22), ‘blonded LSD’, sees the star interview psychologist and writer Dr. James Fadiman about psychedelics, as a 35-minute original score produced by Frank played in the background.
Continuing a series about ‘how to change your mind’, for another new episode, ‘blonded ENERGY!’, the ‘Chanel’ hitmaker discusses self-realisation and the ancient practice of Qi Gong with healing Master Mingtong Gu.

In December, Frank shared a nine-minute track inspired by a conversation he had with the Dutch motivational speaker Wim Hof.
The untitled song was recorded in 2020 and Frank raps to a lengthy piano piece.
The radio show also contained excerpts of a conversation with the artist’s brother, Ryan Breaux, who died in a car crash that year.
Frank wrote on Instagram at the time: “Me and @iceman_hof had a conversation some time ago when I was in the earlier stages of grief and I remember marbling afterwards at how his energy blasted through the phone.
“So much vim in this Wim. We spoke for a while about his work, the purpose of grief and how going into the cold water changed his life.”
He added: “It reminded me of conversations in the studio with players I know. Freewheeling, psychedelic, emotionally charged, intelligent and generous.
“I enjoyed listening to him, so in this edit I just let him speak uninterrupted. Me, (Cory Henry), and (Dylan Patrice) played some sounds underneath to heighten the feeling. I added some writing at the end that I did a single take of w Cory in the summer of 2020.
“I came back and added a few words and parts over the top of that take more recently. Felt like it fit the wabi sabi of Wim’s words. Merry Xmas everyone (sic)”
Frank has not released an album since 2016’s ‘Blonde’, which he was grateful to self-release following a split from record label Def Jam Recordings as he didn’t have to worry about how it performed in the charts.
He said: “With this record [‘Blonde’] in particular, I wanted to feel like I won before the record came out, and I did, and so it took a lot pressure off of me about how the record even would perform after the fact. Once the goal is met, everything else is lagniappe. It’s not essential for me to have a big debut week, it’s not essential for me to have big radio records.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prodigy have played their first concert since the passing of Keith Flint.
The founding member of the group tragically took his own life on March 4, 2019, aged 49, and his bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim returned to the stage at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on Friday (08.07.22) and Saturday (08.07.22) night.
Liam told the crowd before performing ‘Breathe’: “It’s been a long time f****** coming.”
During ‘Firestarter’ a hologram of Keith was used to pay homage to the late star, who performed frontman duties on the 1996 techno-punk classic.
The setlist also included fan-favourites such as ‘Omen’, Voodoo People’ and ‘Smack My B**** Up’.
The 25th-anniversary tour of ‘The Fat of the Land’ heads to Liverpool next on July 14, and concludes with three consecutive nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton kicking off on July 21.
Meanwhile, Liam and Maxim are working on an album in Keith’s honour.
In May 2021, they gave fans a teaser of what’s to come.
Alongside a 15-second clip of a Nu metal-style beat, they tweeted: “New Prodigy studio session beats are rollin #theprodigy #keepitraw #weliveforthebeats.”
Following the tragic death of Keith, songwriter-and-producer Liam confirmed that The Prodigy had gone back into the studio for the first time since his passing.
The upcoming eighth record will be the follow-up to 2018’s ‘No Tourists’, which was the fourth and final LP to feature Keith’s vocals and co-writing before his death.
In a statement at the time of his passing, the band said: “It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint. A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd was left “crushed and heartbroken” after his Toronto show was cancelled due to a major “outage”.
The ‘Take My Breath’ hitmaker was due to play the Rogers Stadium in his home city in Canada on Friday (08.07.22), but an issue with Canada’s main telecommunications company meant it was impossible to put on the concert.
In a social media statement, the 32-year-old singer – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – wrote: “This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight.
“I’m crushed and heartbroken. Been at the venue all day but it’s out of my hands because of the Rogers outage. Operations and safety are compromised and I tried my absolute best.
He added: “This one hurts the most, and we will make this show happen, but unfortunately not tonight. I know how long you’ve been waiting and how hard a lot of you worked to make it to the show and experience this special moment with me. I can’t wait to see you all.”
A new date is yet to be announced.
The ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ continues in Lincoln, Philadelphia on July 14.
The ‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker could be heading back to Toronto soon as he’s been nominated for the 2022 Polaris Music Prize.
The Canadian version of the UK’s Mercury Prize “honours and rewards artists who produce Canadian music albums of distinction”.
And The Weeknd is nominated for his fifth studio album, ‘Dawn FM’, which reached number one in more than 10 countries.
Arcade Fire (‘WE’)’, Orville Peck (‘Bronco’), punk rockers PUP (‘THE UNRAVELING OF PUPTHEBAND’) and rock band Destroyer (‘Labyrinthitis’) are also in contention.
The shortlist for the Polaris Music Prize will be announced on July 14, with the overall winner announced at a ceremony in Toronto on September 19.
Earlier this year, The Weeknd became the most listened-to artist on Spotify.
The ‘Gasoline’ singer broke the record previously set by Justin Bieber after amassing 85.66 million monthly listeners on the streaming service, just weeks after releasing ‘Dawn FM’.
Justin’s previous record was set with just under 84 million monthly listeners.
Meanwhile, The Weeknd recently teased ‘Dawn FM’ is part of a trilogy and a third instalment will follow.
He tweeted: “I wonder… did you know you’re experiencing a new trilogy?”

OHMYGOSSIP — SZA has spilled that she’s teaming up with Doja Cat again on her new track ‘Shirt’.
The pair had a huge hit with ‘Kiss Me More’ from the latter’s third studio album ‘Planet Her’ last year, and now SZA has let slip that she recruited the ‘Get Into It (Yuh)’ rapper for another collaboration.
Giving a big teaser, the ‘Good Days’ singer told the crowd at gopuff Delivers Wireless Festival at London’s Finsbury Park on Saturday evening (09.07.22): “The hint is that we already have a song together. Her name starts with a ‘D’.”
The star had already performed a version of ‘Shirt’ during a live-streamed gig in July 2021.
Last month, SZA released seven previously unheard songs on the deluxe edition of ‘Ctrl’.
To mark the fifth anniversary of the singer’s acclaimed 2017 debut studio album, the star dropped the tracks ‘2AM,’ ‘Miles,’ ‘Percolator,’ ‘Tread Carefully,’ ‘Awkward,’ and ‘Jodie’, plus an alternative version of hit ‘Love Galore’.
Marking the release, SZA – whose real name is Solana Imani Rowe – wrote: “This is JUST a gift for camp ctrl . Nothing more nothing less.”
The 32-year-old singer also thanked her loyal fanbase for changing her life.
She later added: “if u family you get it . 5 yrs is a long time . Thank you for changing my life I love you . Happy anniversary #HAPPYCTRLANNIVERSARY (sic)”
At the start of this month, she teased there’s even more to come to mark the anniversary of ‘Ctrl’.
Alongside a promo shot on Twitter, a text box read: “CTRL 5. More to come. Stay tuned.”
In August last year, SZA surprised her fans by sharing three new tracks on SoundCloud.
The singer discretely dropped ‘Nightbird’, ‘I Hate You’ and ‘Joni’ on an unnamed page on the music-sharing platform.
SZA confirmed on Twitter that they are her songs by linking the account.
She wrote: “dumping random thoughts. (sic)”
Meanwhile, SZA previously admitted she hopes her fans will be “pleasantly surprised” by her long-awaited follow-up to ‘Ctrl’.
She said: “I think they’ll be surprised to know that it’s not what they thought, and it’s not coming when they thought.
“I hope that they’ll be pleasantly surprised.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Vamps star Brad Simpson was left startled when a fan asked for a toilet selfie mid-pee.
The boy band member was minding his own business when a fan appeared next to him at the urinal and asked for a picture with him, and he feared he could get a snap of his manhood.
Drummer Tristan Evans told the Daily Star: “It happened to him [Brad]!”
Frontman Brad recalled: “It was a kid, he asked if he could have a photo and I was like ‘You can if you let me finish doing my business!’
“Your guard is down, luckily the kid didn’t have his phone in his hand but all it takes is ‘oh the camera has flipped the wrong way’.”
The ‘All Night’ hitmakers are preparing to mark their 10th anniversary, and they have a few surprises up their sleeves for fans.
Guitarist James Brittain-McVey said: “We’re planning loads of things around the ten years, we’re coming up to ten years since quite a few things.
“Whether it’s the first album, the first song, first tour, all that stuff, over the coming few years there might be a few things happening to commemorate certain moments.
“We’re definitely strategising things at the moment.”
Already confirmed, the group – completed by bassist Connor Ball – are re-imagining their hits for a special celebratory project.
Brad added: “We’re so proud of all the things we’ve done, it’s not one of those where we’re trying to be dismissive of anything.
“We genuinely go back and breathe new life back into new songs.”
It will include fan-favourites such as ‘Can We Dance’ and ‘Wild Heart’.
The Vamps formed back in 2012.
As well as topping the charts, the lads’ achievements include being the first band to headline London’s The O2 arena five years in a row.

OHMYGOSSIP — Duran Duran quipped that their former band members better “behave” themselves at their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
The ‘Wild Boys’ hitmakers – who formed in 1978 – are set to be honoured alongside the likes of Dolly Parton, Eminem, Lionel Richie, Judas Priest and Carly Simon at the induction ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 5.
And Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor are set to reunite to perform with former guitarists Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo, which they confess will be a “challenge”.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, bassist John said: “It’s going to be fun to put a showcase together with Andy and Warren – that will be challenge!”
Nick said: “It will be, given we will all be in the same small dressing room.”
However, the band agreed it was best to invite their old bandmates back as they were a key part of their history.
The synth and keyboard player continued: “I think that’s the right thing to do because they were a very important part of the band throughout our history.
“Warren for 15 years and Andy the first five and then he did another five during our reunion.
“They should have the opportunity to be there, as long as it all works out.”
John joked: “That’s code for they better behave themselves.”
Andy first quit the group in 1986, before he returned in 2001 and left for good in 2006.
There’s been turbulent times in their history, as the band admitted there was an “unworkable gulf between us” upon the departure of Andy for the second time.
They said in a statement at the time that they would “be continuing as Duran Duran without Andy, as we have reached a point in our relationship with him where there is an unworkable gulf between us and we can no longer effectively function together”.
Warren had a stint as guitarist and backing vocalist between 1989 and 2001, and was a touring guitarist between 1986 and 1989. He later had a stint as the group’s bassist from 1997 until 2001.
Meanwhile, the new wave legends just headlined American Express Presents BST Hyde Park.
The ‘Girls On Film’ hitmakers stormed through a 20-song setlist at the London landmark on Sunday (10.07.22).
They brought out Nile Rodgers to perform ‘Notorious’ and ‘Pressure Off’, while they dedicated ‘Ordinary World’ to the people of Ukraine amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of the European country.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has joked his second album has been delayed because he couldn’t “take his hand off his d***” during lockdown.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker – who has been working on new material – headlined TRSMT Festival over the weekend and used the gig as a chance to give a tongue in cheek update on the highly anticipated follow up to his 2019 debut LP ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.
As reported by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, he quipped: “It never occurred to me during lockdown to take my hand off my d*** and put it on my guitar.
“I’m glad we’ve all enjoyed a w*** every now and then.”
He also encouraged concert goers to make the most of being outdoors and around other people again.
He joked: “two years ago we were sitting in our houses, couldn’t touch each other, couldn’t go outside, and nowe we’re chucking p*** on each other’s head.
“If you see somebody you haven’t seen in a while, p*** on them!”
Meanwhile, the AGE-year-old singer did offer a more serious assessment of the evening, and how much it meant to him after he lost his confidence following his last arena tour.
He said: “I’ve been s******* myself about this for ages. We played some arena shows before everything kicked off and I found it very hard to perform them,
“It was the worst time of my life and I was having panic attacks on stage and stuff.”
However, the response to the first few songs of the night was enough to aleviate his anxieties as he soaked up the atmosphere after a tough time.
He added: “To be able to come out and enjoy doing this genuinely means the world. It’s been a wild few years.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Killers will release a new album next year.
The band have been working on a follow up to 2021’s ‘Pressure Machine’ and they are planning to drop it in 2023, with some singles set for release later this year.
Frontman Brandon Flowers told NME: “We just had a few days off and Stuart [Price, producer] came and visited us on the road. We’re sending things back and forth, and ideas. I’m talking with Shawn Everett [producer] too, and it’s nice to have that combo.
“A full record will probably be early next year but there will definitely be some singles this year.”
Flowers also spoke about the song ‘Boy’, which the band recently debuted on tour even though the track did not make it on to the ‘Pressure Machine’ album.
He said: “It was the song that took me back home and was sort of the impetus for writing ‘Pressure Machine’. What’s interesting is that it just didn’t make it onto the record – but its absence is not a reflection of the quality of the song. It was an aesthetic decision to keep it off the record.
“There’s an optimism to it. It’s in the dust, it’s in the gutter, and it’s looking at the stars. It’s writing in more of a new wave vehicle.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Wilde is ready to embrace “loud and bright” costumes on her upcoming tour.
The 61-year-old singer has never been interested in dressing up on stage but she is planning a major change of image when she embarks on her ‘Greatest Hits’ concert series.
She told HELLO! magazine: “I’ve never been a costumes girl. But this year, my look will be big and bold, with capes and hats.
“Post-pandemic, everything needs to be loud and bright, we all need to shake our tail feathers.
“I’ve turned into the live performer I’ve always wanted to be.”
The ‘Kids in America’ hitmaker always feels like a “rock chick”, even when she’s just carrying out every day chores at home.
She said: “That rock chick in me never went away, she’s still there every single day.
“Even when I’m out walking the dogs or changing sheers, she lives within me all the time.
“It doesn’t take much to bring her out.
“Once I put on some red lipstick, the jackets and the jeans, I’m off and raring to go.”
Kim is delighted to be back on stage following the COVID-19 pandemic and she thinks gigs are good for everyone.
She said: “After we’ve been isolated form each other for so long because of COVID, it’s great to be in front of an audience.
“The power of live music and bringing people together again is overwhelming.”
Although Kim loved her pop hey day, she now wishes she’d done some things differently.
She said: “If I could go back and give the young me a piece of advice, I’d tell her not to drink alcohol.
“It got me into all kinds of scrapes. I gave up alcohol five years ago and feel fantastic for it.”
