OHMYGOSSIP — Marcus Mumford has announced his debut solo album.
The 35-year-old singer – who is best known as the frontman of folk rock band Mumford and Sons – will release the LP, named ‘(Self-Titled)’, in September 2022 and he unveiled lead single ‘Cannibal’, which was inspired by “facing demons” in lockdown, on Thursday (14.07.22).
In a handwritten statement provided by Island Records, he said: “In January 2021, facing demons I danced with for a long time in isolation, I wrote a song called ‘Cannibal’.
“I took it to my friend Blake Mills, and we began the process of making this album, dear to my heart, called ‘(Self-Titled)’.
“It comes out September 16th 2022, produced by Blake Mills, and featuring Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo and Monica Martin.”
The ‘I Will Wait’ hitmaker – who has won numerous awards, including two BRITs, an Ivor Novello, and two Grammys, including Album of the Year as part of Mumford and Sons – is also set to embark on a UK tour in November 2021, which will begin at The Leadmill in Sheffield and finishes up at the Olympia in Dublin, with further details to be announced.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan are re-releasing ‘Especially for You’.
The duo are putting out their hit single again to mark the finale of ‘Neighbours’ after they reprised the roles on the soap that made their names, Ramsay Street residents Scott and Charlene.
Their comeback will be seen when Neighbours airs its final episode on July 29.
A limited number of copies of the 1988 single will be released on vinyl and cassette from August 5, with the single already available to pre-order.
Kylie, 54, said on Twitter: “Now we ARE back together on ‘Neighbours’, a limited run of ‘Especially for You’ with @JDonOfficial will be available on vinyl and cassette on 5th August to bring back more 80s memories!!”
When ‘Especially for You’ was first released in November 1988, it arrived in stores within weeks of the ’Neighbours’ episode in which Kylie and Jason’s characters got married.
The track debuted at number two on the UK Singles Chart and after rocketing to number one spent three weeks at the summit.
Jason, 54, recently said fans can expect a poignant farewell to Scott and Charlene in the upcoming ‘Neighbours’ farewell.
He added: “You never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory, and there’s so much when you come down that street. It was emotional, but it’s filming and it moves on. You’ll have to wait and see.”
‘Neighbours’ was axed earlier this year when Channel 5 pulled the plug on its deal to air the show in Britain.
Kylie was among a flood of fans to pay tribute to the soap impact when the cancellation was announced, saying: “I’ll be forever grateful for the experience and the friends I made on ‘Neighbours’.
“We had no idea how big the show would become and how passionately viewers would take it to heart. Pure love.”

OHMYGOSSIP — J-Hope feels “pressure” and a “sense of responsibility” after becoming the first BTS star to go solo.
The 28-year-old K-pop star is looking forward to the release of his new album ‘Jack in the Box’ but admitted he’s also a little bit nervous about the reaction to the record because he made it to please himself and it is the first time any members of the group have released a full LP.
He said: “It’s half nervousness, half excitement. Since I’m the first one to go solo, I feel a sense of responsibility and there’s definitely some pressure as well.
“‘Jack in the Box’ is filled only with things I personally wanted to do, almost to the point where I worry to myself, ‘Did I focus too much on solely what I wanted to do?’
“I think that’s where the half nervousness comes from. This album is really meaningful to me, and mostly, I feel proud and excited it’s coming out.”
J-Hope took the record to bandmate RM before the rest of the band but Jung Kook is the only other member to have heard the songs so far.
Asked if the ‘Butter’ hitmakers have all had a preview of the album, he told Rolling Stone magazine: “The first person I shared the album with … it’s always the same for me. I always share with RM first.
“I could have also shared it with Suga, but he likes to be very respectful of the process. He told me, ‘I’ll listen to it when it comes out.’ He always says that to me. There’s a bit of shock and motivation that comes after hearing that. ‘When it gets released, I’ll look it up and listen to it then.’
“So I let RM hear it first … and after that was Jung Kook. For the other members, I showed them the title songs, but not the full album.
“When RM heard the album, he said, ‘Wow, I didn’t think you’d do music like this. I have a bit of a brain freeze. And it’s so you. The fact that you brought this music at this time.… I really respect it, and I love that it’s so you.’ He gave me that feedback.”
And hearing the ‘More’ singer’s record has inspired Jung Kook to get started on his own album.
J-Hope said: “For Jung Kook, it was really funny. After hearing the album, he suddenly went to his studio.
“I think he felt the motivation to start. I love that one of our greatest motivators is one another. I’m like that myself. When one of my members is doing a certain type of music or working on an album, I see their individuality and colour, and think to myself, ‘I have my own colour, too. I want to reveal mine, too.’
“We influence each other positively and are good motivators to one another.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Yeah Yeah Yeahs have axed three shows due to “health issues”.
The indie rockers called off gigs in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as their set at New South Wales festival Splendour in the Grass, and the ‘Spitting Off the Edge of the World’ group admitted the cancellations “weigh heavily on us”.
They said in a statement on social media: “We are so sorry to announce that due to health issues we will be cancelling our upcoming shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Splendour in the Grass.
“We apologize for such disappointing news, it weighs heavily on us. We’ve been waiting a long time to see you again and we hope to return soon to fulfill our commitments in good health and spirits.
“Wet Leg, we were so excited to play with you and hope we can do shows together in the future. All purchased tickets for the Sydney and Melbourne headlines shows will received a full refund (sic)”
The Avalanches will now replace Yeah Yeah Yeahs at Splendour in the Grass.
A message on the festival’s Facebook page read: “Splendour In The Grass has received news that Yeah Yeah Yeahs are no longer able to make it to Australia for Splendour In The Grass 2022. The band has sent us this message to share with Splendour ticket holders…
“We are so sorry to announce that due to health issues we will be cancelling our upcoming shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Splendour in the Grass. The disappointment weighs heavily on us, we apologize for such disappointing news. We’ve been waiting a long time to see you again and we hope to return soon to fulfill our commitments in good health and spirits for you. Much love, YYYs”

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit are “working with a lot of UK artists” on their new album.
The chart-topping group – which includes Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson – are currently working on their third album, and Grace has given fans an insight into what they can expect from the record.
The 36-year-old singer told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We’re writing so many songs at the moment and working with a lot of UK artists.
“With our last album, ‘What Is Love’, we really tried to make a homogenous sound, but with our first album it was all over the place – dancehall, house, classical.
“So with the third album we will probably go more that way because there are so many styles of sounds.”
The ‘Symphony’ hitmakers have already collaborated with the likes of Demi Lovato, Anne-Marie, Zara Larsson and Sean Paul.
Grace previously revealed that she’d been busily trying to arrange a collaboration with Lewis Capaldi.
She explained: “We would love to collaborate with him. We have DMed him a few times but no success, as of yet.
“But he’s incredible.”
Grace described Lewis as a “nice guy” – but she also acknowledged that he probably receives lots of requests from other artists.
The singer said: “He’s definitely a nice guy but poor thing, he must get so many DMs.”
Clean Bandit have also been keen to have Rita Ora on their third album.
The group previously worked with Rita on the 2018 track ‘Nowhere’ – which featured on their ‘What Is Love?’ album – and they’re said to be keen to reunite with the pop star.
A source previously said: “Rita’s schedule is one of the busiest in music but Clean Bandit are keen to lock her down.
“They are working on their third album and hope to work with her again in the near future.”

OHMYGOSSIP — BLACKPINK are set to debut a new track and music video during the in-game concert ‘The Virtual’ on ‘PUG MOBILE’.
The K-Pop girl group – comprising Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose – are set to perform their hits and have a special treat in store for fans as part of their second collaboration with the popular battle royale game.
Their label, YG Entertainment announced in a press release: “It is pleased to hold an In-Game Concert as the second collaboration between the world’s best group BLACKPINK and PUBG MOBILE, the best mobile game in the battle royale genre. We also hope to increase the opportunity for artists and fans to interact closely beyond the borders and language barriers.”
‘The Virtual’ takes place July 22 to 23 and July 29 to 30.
What’s more, their fans – who are nicknamed Blinks – will be able to grab the custom suits made for the ‘Sour Candy’ quartet for the performance between July 23 and August 31.
Last week, it was revealed that BLACKPINK are gearing up to drop new music and planning a world tour.
The foursome will release fresh tracks in August as they are in the “final stages of recording a new album” and intend to go on the “largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group.”
YG said: “A lot of BLACKPINK-esque music has been prepared over a long period of time. On top of new music and large-scale projects, BLACKPINK will also go on the largest world tour in the history of a K-pop girl group by the end of the year to expand their rapport with fans worldwide.”
The label went on to add their sophomore album will begin a “a continuous large-scale project which will extend through the second half of the year,” suggesting that it won’t be the only thing they have up their sleeve for the rest of the year.
This comes after rumours circulated that their comeback could be “as early as June,” which was met with confirmation they were coming back soon.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tyler, The Creator’s old collaborator has denied stealing his unreleased music.
The 31-year-old rapper-and-producer took to Twitter to claim that two former colleagues, Brandun Deshay and Tyler Major, had stolen his music and were selling it on Discord without his permission.
He alleged: “b deshay and tyler major selling old songs of mine is wild ha, all them discordd kids are sus especially 3D glass pacifist whatever the hell he called, copping stolen s*** is like damnnnn u thirsty as hell ok
“like bruh that s*** is true personal stolen stuff and n***** is like gb gb like damn bro you that thirsty for 2 minute drafts / few hundred bucks get it together fellas. subliminal tried to get on a call like no bro, just stop, its not cool dawggy (sic).”
And now, Brandun has insisted Tyler’s claims don’t “make sense”.
He told Variety: “I’ve produced for and worked with Mac Miller (RIP), SZA, Thundercat, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, Post Malone, Chance The Rapper and many other talented artists.
“I’ve done everything I wanted to in music and at this point, I just create because it’s fun. I don’t even make music for money at this point in my life, so does his claim even make sense? LOL, get real.”
The pair have previously come to loggerheads.
Tyler and Brandun worked on his 2009 mixtape ‘Bast***’ and the latter’s verse was removed from one song.
A year later, the producer quit Odd Future – the hip-hop outfit also comprising both Tylers – and Tyler threatened to “kill” him.
In a November 2010 tweet, he fumed: “I Swear, When I See Brandun Deshay, IM GOING TO KILL HIM. Show This To The Police For Proof Too.”
The ‘Tamale’ rapper hasn’t disclosed whether he plans to sue the pair.
Tyler Major is yet to publicly respond to the claims.

OHMYGOSSIP — Eminem has announced the new greatest hits collection, ‘Curtain Call 2’, featuring a brand new track.
The 49-year-old rap legend is following up 2005’s ‘Curtain Call: The Hits’ with a new retrospective of his works from 2009’s ‘Relapse’ onwards.
Details of the previously unreleased track will be “revealed in the coming weeks” and the full album will drop on August 5.
The ‘Lose Yourself’ hitmaker’s contribution to Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ biopic, ‘The King and I’ with CeeLo Green – which was produced by his long-time collaborator Dr. Dre – is included in the compilation.
The hip-hop icon recently admitted he has found it therapeutic to rap about his mental health and addiction battles.
When it was mentioned he uses music to explore his “luggage”, Eminem replied: “Well, I think that’s one of the great things about rap music is that, you know, you could put so much of your life in it.
“I was just trying to figure out how to expand on that and I kinda got lost.”
Dad-of-three Eminem has battled addictions to prescription drugs and was hours from dying when he was hospitalised in 2007 after a methadone overdose that doctors told him was the equivalent of ingesting four bags of heroin.
He has drawn parallels between himself and troubled Elvis on ‘The King and I’.
It sees Eminem rap: “I’m about to explain to you all the parallels between Elvis and me / It seems obvious: one, he’s pale as me/ Second, we both been hailed as kings/ He used to rock the Jailhouse, and I used to rock The Shelter.”
He adds: “I stole black music, yeah, true, perhaps used it / As a tool to combat school kids / Kids came back on some bathroom shit / Now I call a hater a bidet / ’Cause they mad that they can’t do s***.”
Meanwhile, the multi-Grammy Award winner – whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III – is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside the likes of Dolly Parton, Eurythmics and Duran Duran later this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronnie James Dio’s widow has claimed the late metal legend penned his 1983 hit ‘Holy Diver’ for Black Sabbath originally.
The seminal musician – who died from stomach cancer aged 67 in 2010 – replaced Ozzy Osbourne as frontman of the ‘Paranoid’ group after he was fired by his bandmates in 1979.
Former Rainbow bandleader Dio appeared on three Sabbath studio albums, 1980’s ‘Heaven and Hell’, 1981’s ‘Mob Rules’ and 1992’s ‘Dehumanizer (1992).
He quit in 1982 to form Dio and took their drummer Vinny Appice with him. He later formed Heaven and Hell with Sabbath’s axe-slayer Tony Iommi.
And during an interview on ‘Full Metal Jackie’ to mark what would have been Dio’s 80th birthday, his wife Wendy revealed ‘Holy Diver’ and ‘Don’t Talk to Strangers’ were both written by Dio when he was still in Sabbath.
Both tracks appeared on Dio’s debut studio album ‘Holy Diver’.
She spilled: “Ronnie always did what he wanted to do. He never listened to what the record label wanted or anyone else. He always stuck to his guns in making the album. He hoped it would be successful. None of us realised how successful it was going to be. We really had been toying around with things and he had written Holy Diver and Don’t Talk to Strangers during the time he was in Black Sabbath, so they were supposed to be Sabbath songs.
“When he left Sabbath, we had a solo deal for him and he just put those songs [on the album] and got the band together, wrote more songs and it came out. Everyone was blown away about the reception that we got and how great the album was and how it’s stood [the test] of time. It’ll be 40 years next year.”
Elsewhere, Wendy spoke about giving ‘Stranger Things’ a vintage Dio jacket for Joe Quinn’s Eddie Munson to wear in the hit Netflix sc-fi series.
She said: “It’s amazing. I think Ronnie would be so happy and so proud that all this time later there’s new generations listening to and wearing his stuff. Before the pandemic, they asked me if they have permission to license the logo and they were going to buy some Dio stuff for the series.
“I said, ‘I have vintage stuff, why don’t I send you some?’ They were very appreciative, but then I didn’t hear anything for [a while] and I thought it must have been forgotten or not used. All of a sudden, the series is on and Eddie [Munson, one of the main characters] is wearing Ronnie’s The Last In Line T-shirt on his denim jacket and I thought it was so amazing. I was so happy and I just wish Ronnie could have been here to know that. I’m sure there’s a big smile on his face up in the sky.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has reportedly hired security guards for her wardrobe on her upcoming world tour.
The 36-year-old singer had the help of Donatella Versace when it came to designing some of the costumes for her global ‘Chromatic Ball’ shows, and they have been 24-hour protection.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The designer clothes, including designs by Versace that Lady Gaga will be wearing, are priceless because they have been made especially for her.
“There are lots of outfits which are being guarded 24/7 because they are so precious and her team doesn’t want them being damaged or seen by anyone. She loves a costume change so there’s a lot of clothes to guard.
“Rehearsals have been intense for weeks and obviously everyone has been forbidden from filming or taking photos to ensure everything is a surprise on opening night. It will be an absolute spectacle.”
Gaga has reportedly been wearing the garments during rehearsals for the tour, which starts on Sunday (17.07.22) in Düsseldorf, Germany, and they have been followed by guards when being transported.
The ’Paparazzi’ singer’s 20-date tour will see her perform tracks from her 2020 No1 album ‘Chromatica’ for the first time and will this month include two shows in London.
Gaga has reportedly been working on what is going to be her “most complex” tour yet.
A source recently said: “Gaga knows how long fans have been waiting for these shows and is putting everything into making them spectacular.
“She has splashed out on a warehouse in London for her team to secretly rehearse the show over and over until everything is exactly how she wants it.
“In terms of staging it’s probably the most complex she’s ever done – and that really is saying something as her tours are always impressive. The stage is huge – money clearly is no object.
“Visuals have been shot and right now it’s about tweaking things so everything goes smoothly and without a hitch.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Placebo have cancelled shows due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the band and crew.
The ‘Teenage Angst’ rockers – made up of Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, with current touring members Bill Lloyd, Nick Gavrilovic, Matt Lunn and Angela Chan – have revealed they won’t be able to perform planned live dates in Bucharest, Romexpo in Romania tonight (13.07.22) or at ‘Skopje Calling’ in Macedonia on July 16.
In a statement, the group said: “Due to an outbreak of COVID within the Placebo band and crew we regretfully announce that Placebo will be unable to perform at Bucharest, Romexpo in Romania on Wednesday July 13 and at Skopje Calling in Macedonia on Saturday 16th July.
“We are frustrated and disappointed not to be able to perform these shows which are important to us – as we know they are to you.
“We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience and disappointment. We are doing all we can to reschedule and please check locally for further announcements.
“Please stay safe out there. Peace and love, Brian and Stefan.”
Meanwhile, frontman Brian recently opened up on the band’s conenction to Kate Bush – and their 2003 cover of ‘Running Up That Hill’ – after the song’s recent resurgance after being featured in ‘Stranger Things’.
He said: “We were already in the habit of covering our favourite songs from the 80s, so I suggested that we do ‘Running Up That Hill’ but that we slow the tempo down as much as we could without it becoming a dirge, and obviously we wanted to keep it electronic with sounds from the early 2000s.
“I met Kate once at a party: it was a record company do and there was an orderly queue to speak to her.
“When I got to the front the first thing she said to me was: ‘I like your cover of my song.’ That was enough. I’m very, very pleased that it got Kate’s endorsement.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Yungblud has cancelled a trio of shows in North America.
The ‘Funeral’ rocker has been forced to postpone dates in Toronto, Montreal and Salt Lake City this autumn, “due to unforeseen circumstances” beyond his control.
In a social media statement, he said: “My family in Toronto, Montreal and Salt Lake City. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my shows this fall are going to be cancelled.
“You know how much I hate cancelling shows, it breaks my fucking hearts but this [is] way behind my control. (sic)”
He added: “I promise I will be back soon and have massive plans. All will be made clear soon, it’s gonna be f***in mental.”
The ‘Fleabag’ hitmaker is set to play a series of intimate shows across the UK and Europe as part of the ‘International As F*** Tour’ later this year.
He’ll visit Dublin, Dundee, Newcastle, Leeds, Liverpool, Coventry, Bournemouth, Southampton, Kingston upon Thames, Brighton, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Wien, Berlin, Milano and Madrid between October 18 and November 15.
Last month, Yungblud – whose real name is Dom Harrison – released his latest single ‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’.
After the filming of the fan-featuring music video for the track was shut down by police in London’s Southbank, the ‘Cotton Candy’ star dropped the track and promo for the latest song from his upcoming self-titled LP.
In a press release, Yungblud said of the song about not letting haters ruin happiness: “To me, this song is what happiness feels like. A defiant sort of happiness. Looking at yourself in the mirror and telling the sadness to f*** off and come back another day.
“I wanted this song to be a little part of someone’s day. No matter what they’re going through, they can put this on and feel a bit stronger today. That’s the vision; that’s the dream.”
Previous singles from the album are ‘The Funeral’ featuring Ozzy Osbourne and ‘Memories’ with WILLOW.

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy loves the “drama” of the gossip that surrounds The 1975.
The ‘Somebody Else’ band’s frontman is adamant they will never split up, but he loves the “will they, won’t they” talk.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone UK, he said: “There’s always been a lot of ‘will they, won’t they’ with my band. Will they split up? Will they not? Will I get over drugs in order…? And I’ve always leant into that because I like that. I love the drama of it.
“And I think that now I’ve realised, not in a non-sexy way, but The 1975 aren’t going to split up. What happens with The 1975 could be a myriad of things, but splitting up is not really going to happen.”
Matty and co recently returned with their new single, ‘Part Of The Band’, the first taste of their upcoming fifth studio album, ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’.
He said of the LP: “I’ve always wanted to make something very, very intimate and something that allows you to be witness to a moment.”
And The 1975 are planning to take the album out on an intimate tour for fans, though they are keeping schtum on when that might be.
He said: “I want people to feel like they’re in a little theatre as opposed to an IMAX because, you know, in an IMAX you can just go to the toilet.”
The follow-up to 2020’s ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ is released on October 12.
Meanwhile, the band are set to make their live comeback at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival in August.
The ‘Chocolate’ group will headline the festival in Tokyo and Osaka on August 20 and 21, following a two-year break from the road.

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are releasing 25th-anniversary limited edition collectors’ editions of their seminal 1997 LP ‘Be Here Now’.
The Britpop legends released their third studio album – the follow-up to worldwide hit LP (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ – on August 21, 1997 and to mark the milestone, fans can get their hands on various special formats of the record, including a silver-coloured double heavyweight LP, a double picture disc and cassette, on August 19.
What’s more, a brand new lyric video for ‘D’You Know What I Mean? (NG’s 2016 Rethink)’ has dropped online.
The lead single from ‘Be Here Now’ shot straight to No1 on the Official UK Singles Chart 25 years ago today (13.07.22).
As well as ‘D’You Know What I Mean?’, ‘Be Here Now’ also boasts fan-favourites ‘Stand By Me’, ‘All Around The World’, ‘Don’t Go Away’ and ‘Magic Pie’.
A press release regarding the anniversary celebrations also promises: “Additional lyric videos and original Oasis content from the era will be made available throughout the campaign with special activity to celebrate the album – visit www.oasisinet.com for details and follow #BeHereNow25.”
Noel Gallagher previously confessed Oasis were “taking all the cocaine they could find” when they recorded ‘Be Here Now’.
And while it was a huge commercial success, selling more than eight million copies worldwide, Noel believes it wasn’t their best work because the band were taking so many drugs.
He said: “We were taking all the cocaine we could possibly find. When you’re on cocaine, you think everything you do is incredible. The album is one of my least favourites, but wrapped up in that are some seriously amazing times. We were the biggest band in the world. We brought two DJs on the road. Who even brings one?”
The 55-year-old rocker – who quit the band in 2009 following a massive bust-up with estranged brother and ex-frontman Liam – doesn’t look back with nostalgia on the group’s 15-year career but he is very proud of everything they achieved.
The singer/songwriter – who has released three solo albums with his High Flying Birds – said: “I don’t look back at old photographs or listen to my old records. I don’t get it? Who the f*** cares? But those seminal records like Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ and, dare I say, ‘Definitely Maybe’, young people should be tapped on the shoulder and shown what they missed. I’m glad we made one of those albums, maybe even two, and I’m glad I wrote all the songs on them. I feel very proud that people still give a s**t.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Three men have been charged with conspiracy to sell Don Henley’s stolen lyric sheets for the Eagles’ ‘Hotel California’ LP.
The manuscripts were lost in the 70s and came to be in the possession of three males, who were indicted on Tuesday (12.07.22) by a Manhattan district court attorney, in the 2000s.
They had tried to sell the sought-after manuscripts at auction and even to Henley himself, who pleaded for their return.
The individuals are named as Glenn Horowitz, Craig Inciardi and Edward Kosinski.
District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. said in a statement: “These defendants attempted to keep and sell these unique and valuable manuscripts, despite knowing they had no right to do so. They made up stories about the origin of the documents and their right to possess them so they could turn a profit.”
The manuscripts were valued at $1 million and include the lyrics to the iconic 1976 title track, plus ‘Life in the Fast Lane’ and ‘New Kid In Town’.
The trio’s attorneys responded: “The DA’s office alleges criminality where none exists and unfairly tarnishes the reputations of well-respected professionals. We will fight these unjustified charges vigorously. These men are innocent.”
Inciardi is curator and director of acquisitions at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Henley’s manager Irving Azoff commented in a statement, “We are thankful to New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg and his staff for pursuing this case and have faith that justice will be served. This action exposes the truth about music memorabilia sales of highly personal, stolen items hidden behind a façade of legitimacy. No one has the right to sell illegally obtained property or profit from the outright theft of irreplaceable pieces of musical history. These handwritten lyrics are an integral part of the legacy Don Henley has created over the course of his 50-plus-year career. We look forward to the return of Don’s property, for him and his family to enjoy and preserve for posterity.”
The case has been bubbling away for a number of years, with search warrants granted back in December 2016 to retrieve the manuscripts from Sotheby’s and Kosinski’s New Jersey residence.
The defendants even tried to claim that the band’s late founding member Glenn Frey, who died in January 2016, had given them the lyrics.
The trio have been charged with one count of Conspiracy in the Fourth Degree.
Inciardi and Kosinski have been booked for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the First Degree, while Horowitz faces three further charges for Attempted Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the First Degree and two counts of Hindering Prosecution in the Second Degree.
