OHMYGOSSIP — Steven Spielberg has directed Marcus Mumford’s first solo music video.
The iconic filmmaker – known for his legendary big screen career working on the likes of ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ and ‘Schindler’s List’ as well as the ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Indiana Jones’ franchises – has now moved into the world of music.
The 75-year-old director was at the helm of the video for the Mumford and Sons frontman’s new single ‘Cannibal’.
Taking to Twitter, Marcus revealed Spielberg created the piece ‘in one shot’ using his phone, while the filmmaker’s wife Kate Capshaw was also on set.
He wrote: “On Sunday 3rd July in a high school gym in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in one shot, on his phone. Kate Capshaw was the almighty dolly grip.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the people around me to bring this music to you, and I cannot hope to express all of my gratitude.
“When people get it, it blows my mind. Kate and Steven just got it, and I cannot thank them enough.”
Marcus also thanked producer and behind the scenes videographer Kristie Macosko Krieger for her help on the project.
‘Cannibal’ will appear on the ‘Little Lion Man’ hitmaker’s self-titled debut solo album, which is set to be released on September 16.
In a handwritten statement provided by Island Records announcing the single and LP last week, the singer said: “In January 2021, facing demons I danced with for a long time in isolation, I wrote a song called ‘Cannibal’.
“I took it to my friend Blake Mills, and we began the process of making this album, dear to my heart, called ‘(Self-Titled)’.
“It comes out September 16th 2022, produced by Blake Mills, and featuring Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, Clairo and Monica Martin.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kasabian have pushed back their album release due to “production issues”.
The ‘Club Foot’ hitmakers were due to drop their new record, ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’, on August 5th, but they will now release their seventh studio album on August 12th after some issues at their vinyl plant.
Kasabian wrote on Twitter: “Due to production issues at our vinyl plant, we’ve had to push the release date of ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ back by a week. We can’t wait for you to hear it on 12th August.”
The album will be the band’s first full-length release since singer Tom Meighan’s departure.
The former frontman was let go from the group and sentenced to 200 hours of unpaid work in July 2020, after pleading guilty to assaulting his now-spouse, Vikki Ager, during an incident in April that year.
Serge Pizzorno is now performing frontman duties for the ‘Fire’ hitmakers, who are also made up of Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter.
And Serge admitted in May that becoming the lead singer has been “more fun” in terms of being able to visualise the live show.
He said: “I’ve always done it my way. If anything, it’s more fun in terms of being able to visualise the live show.
“When you see someone sing words that have come from them, there’s something magical about that.
“You can really feel the sentiment in what someone is trying to say through a charged performance. That’s when sparks fly.
“This album was just us saying, ‘Let’s see what we can do, let’s see where we can take this’.
“Every album we’ve made has been way different to the one previously and you’ve never really known where we’re going to go next.”
Kasabian have already released singles ‘ALYGATOR’, ‘SCRIPTVRE’ and ‘Chemicals’ from their upcoming album.

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish is back in the studio with her brother Finneas.
The Grammy winner is currently back in the US after wrapping the European leg of her ‘Happier Than Ever World Tour’, and she has shared a studio snap with her sibling – who produces and co-writes his sister’s hits – on Instagram.
The 20-year-old pop megastar – who dropped her second LP ‘Happier Than Ever’ in July 2021 – recently admitted she’d love to put out a new album next year.
She said: “I just want to keep enjoying the music that we make. And so that’s why I think I’m a little bit of a procrastinator when it comes to working, especially when we’re busy. In theory, I want to make a song and put out an album next year.”
However, Billie finds it “really hard” making music.
She added: “…but that means we have to make it, and it’s really hard to make music, for me. I don’t want to make something I don’t like, so I get freaked out, but I never want to stop creating the way that we create and making music that touches people. That’s it, you know? That’s the only longevity I give a s*** about.”
The ‘Bad Guy’ hitmaker recently made history as the youngest-ever headliner of Glastonbury festival in the UK, and she is said to be working on a new documentary about just that and her headlining set at Coachella in America.
The ‘Your Power’ singer recently revealed she used a “body double” so she could explore Coachella undetected.
Billie headlined the music extravaganza in California in April and in order to be able to go and explore the rest of what the festival had to offer, she persuaded one of her backing dancers to dress up as her, while she opted for a low-key black outfit and was able to successfully mingle with the crowd.
She said: “I had a body double, one of my dancers.
“We got a black wig and we put buns in it and we gave her a mask and sunglasses.
“Everybody thought it was me. I put on a big black coat and a traffic vest, hood, and glasses.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen have become the first act in the UK to sell seven million copies of an album.
The rock legends’ 1981 ‘Greatest Hits’ collection is owned by 1 in 4 households in the UK, the Official Charts Company announced.
Guitarist Brian May said: “No album has done this before in history.
“Thank you, we appreciate it.”
Drummer Roger Taylor said: “The British public and their infinitely-great taste have made this the biggest-selling album in history.
“Thank you very much; we’re humbled and honoured. We salute you!”
The LP beat ABBA’s 1992 compilation ‘Gold’ by a million copies.
Martin Talbot, chief executive of the Official Charts, commented: “When it was released for the first time in 1981, career-spanning packages such as Greatest Hits were relatively rare, the preserve of only the very biggest acts.
“There is no doubt that its massive success has done as much as any other release to turn hits packages into the omnipresent album concept that they are today.”
In 2014, Queen’s collection reached six million copies, but now audio streams are included, with 1,000 streams amounting to a single sale.
The ‘We Will Rock You’ hitmakers have amassed 1.26 billion total UK streams, while ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has been streamed 240 million times.
The iconic band – which was fronted by the late Freddie Mercury, until his death in 1991, and now performs with Adam Lambert on lead vocals – join the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, as the only acts to make the top 10 sales list twice.
Queen’s 1991 ‘Greatest Hits II’ sold four million copies, placing 10th, while Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and ‘Bad’ albums placed sixth and ninth, respectively.
The Beatles’ ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’, Adele’s ’21’, Oasis’ ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’, Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ and Dire Straits’ ‘Brother In Arms’ also made the list of the UK’s best-selling albums of all time.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katherine Jenkins has announced a new festive show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Amid a heatwave in the UK, the Welsh opera star has confirmed she will return for another Yuletide spectacular at the iconic venue for ‘Christmas with Katherine Jenkins and Friends’ on December 8.
She said: “The Royal Albert Hall is my favourite venue in the world which is why I’m delighted to be returning there for a festive concert with friends on December 8th. For me, it doesn’t feel like Christmas until we do the Royal Albert Hall Christmas so I hope you can join me to get in the spirit!”
The last time the 42-year-old mezzo-soprano singer performed at the hall was in May 2020 to an empty room amid the COVID-19 pandemic for a live-streamed show for the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
The special performance featured a virtual duet with the late Forces’ Sweetheart Dame Vera Lynn, who entertained troops during the Second World War.
Last month, Katherine – who was awarded an OBE at the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for her services to music and charity – performed at Sandringham for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Meanwhile, she recently made her movie debut as Millie in the acclaimed flick ‘Minamata’.
Katherine also co-wrote the film’s end credit song, ‘One Single Voice’ with Skylar Grey, and performed on the film score written by Sakamoto.

“Collaborating with this master with the goal to bring voice to the Minamata patients and the countless others affected by industrial pollution was an inspiring experience which I will always cherish.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion has announced a one-off show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.
The rap megastar will play the famous venue in north London, which has a capacity of just under 5,000, on August 24.
The gig announcement just comes weeks after the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ hitmaker wowed fans at Wireless festival.
During her performance of ‘Do It On the Tip’, the 27-year-old music star brought five fans on stage to twerk with her.
Meanwhile, Megan recently teased that she wants to take fans from twerking to tears on her new album.
The ‘Savage’ hitmaker has been working hard on the highly-anticipated follow-up to 2020’s debut LP ‘Good News’ and revealed she had 25 to 30 songs to choose from for the upcoming collection in May.
She said: “I want to take you through so many different emotions.
“At first you was twerking, now you might be crying.”
The Grammy winner revealed she is always writing, whether that’s in the car, in bed or even while she’s showering.
She added: “I put my phone outside the shower but close enough to where I could still tap it. S*** be getting wet all the time, f****** up my phones.
“It’s a whole movie trying to write in the shower, but I keep my speaker loud and I just freestyle, and then I write it down when I get out.”
Megan is keen to keep building her legacy as a writer and performer, and she wants to go down in history as “one of the best”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Wolfgang Van Halen says a tribute concert for his late father Eddie Van Halen couldn’t “get off the ground” because “some people” are “difficult” to work with.
Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted had recently let slip that guitarist Joe Satriani and drummer Alex Van Halen were in talks to put on a special show in honour of the ‘Jump’ group’s late axe-slayer.
However, Wolfgang, 31, has claimed it was “in such an early stage that it never even got off the ground.”
Without giving any names, the musician – who ended up playing bass for his dad’s band – alleged that there are some people in the Van Halen camp that make it hard to plan anything.
He told Rolling Stone: “What I can say is that there was an attempt at doing something.
“I don’t like to speak negatively about people, but there are some people that make it very difficult to do anything when it comes to Van Halen.”
He went on: “I know how Van Halen fans get.
“They are very motivated by which specific people they like in the band. It’s just not worth it. We made an attempt, and some people can be hard to work with, and made it not happen.”
The journalist then asked Wolfgang if “a certain singer with three initials” is “the main problem”, which is David Lee Roth.
Not willing to single anyone out, he replied: “I would say, ‘Do your research on the history of Van Halen, and come to your [own] conclusions.'”
David, 67, quit the heavy rock group in 1984 to pursue a solo career, despite them being one of the most successful bands of the time, and Sammy Hagar, 74, was hired by the group in a bid to reinvent their career.
David reunited with his bandmates in 2007, and appeared on the 2012 LP ‘A Different Kind of Truth’.
Eddie passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer in October 2020 at the age of 65.
Sammy had confirmed that he had been in talks about joining a Van Halen reunion tour with Eddie, Alex and David before his passing.
He said: “Eddie and Al and Irving Azoff, their manager [and] my dear friend, we were looking at doing the reunion tour with everybody, which is the way it had to be. I’ve been pushing for that for 10 years. I was ready to put [any differences] aside. Let’s go give the fans the biggest band in the world, you know what I mean? You don’t get bigger than Van Halen, and the fans deserve to see it all, hear every song.”

The ‘Afterglow’ hitmaker, 28, is “honoured” to be performing at the women’s football final at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 31.
The performance marks the first time a live music production of this scale has taken place at the UEFA Women’s EURO final.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi turned to Sir Elton John for some advice on his long-awaited second album.
The Scottish superstar has been taking his time with the notoriously difficult second album after the record-breaking success of his 2019 debut studio effort ‘Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent’.
And the 75-year-old music legend has revealed the ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker got him to listen to the tunes to give his honest opinion.
Speaking to the latest issue of Music Week magazine, Elton spilled: “He’s made a second album and he’s got apprehensions about it, which is normal.
“He came down to play me some tracks and it’s a no-brainer.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker admitted in the same interview that he finds it “depressing” that “people like [him]” are keeping new artists out of the chart.
Elton is concerned that so many veteran performers are still scoring Top 20 hit singles and albums while fresh talent barely makes it into the chart for more than a week, and he can’t understand why that is the case.
He said: “It’s lovely to see Kate Bush at No.1, but there’s not many good records in the Top 20. And the albums chart is full of things like me, ABBA and Queen. The odd thing comes through, like Sam Fender or Harry Styles, or you get a new artist coming in at Number three and then disappearing to 80-something.
“It’s depressing – there are a lot of good albums that deserve to be in the albums chart, like Juanita Euka, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen.
“What I want to know is why aren’t they there? Because of people like me!”
The ‘Rocket Man’ hitmaker thinks there are a lot of young women, in particular, making exciting new music.
He said: “It’s so great to see Nova Twins, Wet Leg, Let’s Eat Grandma, The Linda Lindas, Haim and all these girls rocking out and making the best music. Apart from Sam Fender, none of the boys are doing it, the girls are. It’s a breath of fresh air, because it comes from innocence and pure joy and that, for me, is what music is about.”
Elton singled out his ‘Cold Heart’ collaborator Dua Lipa for particular praise.
He gushed: “She’s so professional, so charming and right on the money. It was easy peasy. She’s got everything there is to have as a female artist. She’s bright, modest and not carried away by her own success. I loved working with her.”

Joining Kevin Parker and co at London’s Victoria Park on August 25 will be singer-songwriter Omar Apollo, Yorkshire synthpop band Working Men’s Club, Atlanta star Mattiel and Floridian soul star Q.
The latest additions to the bill for the multi-day event follow H.E.R. and Lil Silva being added to Disclosure’s date.
The R’n’B superstar and the esteemed electronic music producer will join James Blake, Charli XCX, Mura Masa, Fred Again.., Koffee, Freddie Gibbs, Channel Tres, Overmono, Shy FX and ENNY on August 27.
Gorillaz headline APE on August 19.

OHMYGOSSIP — Peter Hook and The Light will bring ‘Joy Division: A Celebration’ to North America this August and September.
The show sees the 66-year-old bassist and co-founder of the post-punk group and his band perform their two seminal albums ‘Unknown Pleasures’ and ‘Closer’ in full with additional Joy Division rarities and an opening set of New Order material – the group Peter, Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris formed following the suicide of frontman Ian Curtis in 1980.
The North American run kicks off on August 11 with two consecutive nights in Toronto, Canada.
Special guests will be El Ten Eleven at the two sold-out Chicago shows, Boston, Silver Springs, MD, Philadelphia, New York, San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The 26-date run is Peter and co’s biggest jaunt across the pond to date.
It follows the UK and France dates to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Joy Division and Ian’s continuing influence, which were originally planned for May 2020, but delayed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Peter is just as excited to perform for their American and Canadian fans as he is for his “first coffee shop breakfast” across the pond.
He said of his ninth tour of the States: “Definitely one of the highlights/lowlights of my profession is the travelling. It was amazing what a blessing it was not to have to do it over lockdown but amazing again how soon you missed seeing all these wonderful places the world has to offer. You lot in America are so lucky to have such a varied and wonderful country. I can’t wait to get back there, and my mouth is watering at the thought go my first ‘Coffee Shop’ breakfast. I am easily pleased.
“We have always been lucky to have been appreciated as much as we have in The States, ever since our first tour in September 1980. I am hoping for much the same this time. There is definitely a great appreciation for both Joy Division’s and New Order’s music.”
On the reception to the gigs so far, he added: “The gigs so far have all been wonderful and the fans and the band have been wonderful too! It does nothing for my imposter syndrome.
“I am very grateful that we have all risen back to this after what we have been through these past few years. Thank you all.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mabel is keen to write more music with Little Mix.
The ‘Let Them Know’ singer wrote the track ‘Trash’ on the chart-topping girl group’s final album before they announced their hiatus, 2021’s ‘Between Us’, and she’d love to work with Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock again.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I am such a big Little Mix fan and I love writing tunes – the songwriting process is one of my favourite things
“The song came so quickly and the Little Mix girls heard it and I love them. I was like, ‘If they want to sing it, let’s do it’.
“They’re all going to do their individual things and I hope to work with them again.
“I love all of them. I’m excited to see what they will do – they’re all going to smash it.”
The trio are focusing on their solo ventures for now.
Meanwhile, Mabel is eyeing up an acting career in the future after doing just that in her recent music videos.
She said: “I would love to. Doing it in these videos was the first time I’d ever tried.
“I’ve really enjoyed it and I would love to learn properly and do something.
“Right now it’s all about my music and I still have big goals for what I want to do musically. I want to be a global artist and making more tunes will always be my first love.
“But I would absolutely love to act at some point.”
The 26-year-old star – who is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry and producer Cameron McVey – has been open about struggling with the pressures of being in the spotlight.
And she has contemplated quitting the music business over the negative attention she has been bombarded with on social media about her looks and singing abilities.
She said: “I was super overwhelmed with everything.
“I was not prepared to be out there on stages in front of thousands of people or to be doing award shows aired to the whole world.
“Then you’re going out there in fear of what people might say about you. You manage to get through it but you couldn’t give your all because the fear was there, and it’s crazy what fear will do to your mind and your body and your voice.
“Then afterwards you get negative comments about it then you have to do it again. You end up in this cycle of not being able to perform. It knocked my confidence a lot.”
The “constant” fear that people hated her kept her awake at night.
She added: “I was stressed all the time, constantly feeling what I was doing wasn’t good enough.
“It would be difficult to sleep. And I had this constant fear thinking, ‘I’m going to do this interview but I feel like I’m being set up because they don’t like me,’ or, ‘I’m going to do this shoot and somebody said online that I look like I’ve gained weight’.
“I was so involved in other people’s thoughts about me to the point where I didn’t even know how I felt about myself.”
She went on: “You can’t not read it. That’s why I had to get rid of it for a bit. If you go looking, you’re going to find, and it’s really bloody hard to not look because I think in a sense we all want validation from people.
“As artists, we want to be liked. I want to be as big as I can be, I want to appeal to as many different people as I can and I always think of my journey as an artist to be inclusive, not exclusive.
“But along with opening yourself up to everybody, you are allowing people to judge you and everyone is entitled to have their opinions. And it can still be difficult.
“It felt like a hamster wheel. I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing and how to do things.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot will release new album ‘The End, So Far’ later this year.
The heavy metal legends – whose most recent record was 2019’s ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ – have dropped single ‘The Dying Song (Time To Sing)’ and unveiled plans for their highly anticipated next record.
Percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan – who also directed the new music video – has teased: “New music, new art, and new beginnings. Get ready for the end.”
The album is set to be released on September 30,
and the group – who debuted new masks in the exciting visual – have unveiled the tracklist.
As well as featuring ‘The Dying Song’ and previous single ‘The Chapeltown Rag’, the LP will open with a song called ‘Adderall’, and end with the appropriately titled ‘Finale’.
Meanwhile, the album will also mark the end of their longtime partnership with Roadrunner Records.
Last year, Clown said: “What I can tell you right now is that we are getting off of our record label.
“This is a very fascinating time in my life because I’ve lost both of my parents and if they were alive my dad would be so excited that I have fulfilled a contract.
“It’s not about what I’m going to do afterwards, it’s that I gave my word, I extended my hand and my penmanship and I’m literally getting off of something that I had agreed I can get off of.”
Asked to clarify if he meant Slipknot’s next album will be their last on Roadrunner, he added: “Yes sir, seven albums, no greatest hits, no best of, no live albums, straight up rock n’ roll. That’s what we’ve given.”
In December, frontman Corey Taylor promised fans something special, and insisted he loves the new collection “more” than their previous record.
He said: “[It’s] really good; I’m really, really stoked on it. I actually like this one more than I like ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, and I loved ‘We Are Not Your Kind.’ ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Simple Minds’ “key music interests” have been acquired by BMG.
Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill of the seminal Scottish rock band have inked an agreement with the major label, which covers the publishing rights to more than 240 songs, their neighbouring rights and royalties from their back catalogue.
Frontman Jim, 63, said: “We are very pleased to have struck this deal. It feels like the right time for us and our families. We look forward to working with everyone at BMG.”
Alistair Norbury, BMG President Repertoire and Marketing UK, commented: “There are few bands who can claim to have changed music, but over a period of 45 years Simple Minds have done precisely that.
“It has been a long courtship, but we are delighted to have the opportunity to be custodians of their outstanding catalogue. We are thrilled that BMG is now the musical home of Simple Minds, past, present, and future.”
BMG has secured a number of deals of late, including a 50 per cent stake in Primal Scream’s publishing.
Mötley Crüe are also said to have sold their catalogue to the label for a whopping $150 million.
Last year, Tina Turner sold the rights to her solo back catalogue to BMG in a landmark deal.
Meanwhile, Simple Minds are set to release their 18th studio album ‘Direction of the Heart’ on October 21, the follow-up to 2018’s ‘Walk Between Worlds’.
The lead single, ‘Vision Thing’, is a moving tribute to Jim’s late father, who passed away in 2019.
The LP also includes a duet with Sparks singer Russell Mael on the track ‘Human Traffic’.
The collection was recorded in the “worst of times”, but ended up being a lot of “fun” for the Glaswegians.
Jim said: “How to make a feel-good ‘electro-rock’ record, during the very worst of times?
“‘Direction Of The Heart’ is the result of that challenge. Who would have thought we’d have so much fun creating it?”
The ‘Belfast Child’ hitmakers have sold more than 60 million albums to date, and have scored five No.1 albums over a career spanning almost five decades.

OHMYGOSSIP — Duran Duran are set to headline the Opening Ceremony of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ hitmakers – comprising Simon Le Bon, Roger Taylor, John Taylor and Nick Rhodes – join fellow Birmingham legends, including Black Sabbath’s axe-slayer Tony Iommi, in performing at the multi-sport event.
The Opening and Closing ceremonies on July 28 and August 8, respectively, will be staged at the “newly-redeveloped” Alexander Stadium in front of a live audience of more than 30,000 and an anticipated television audience in excess of a billion.
Frontman Simon, 63, said: “The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is a momentous event for the great city of Birmingham. And we in Duran Duran are honoured to be a part of it in our home town.”
Drummer Roger, 62, commented: “We are so proud to be returning to our home town to close the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony. It is a true honour to be part of a global event that will bring sportspeople of all cultural backgrounds around the world together as one. Another milestone in a most incredible year for us.”
Bassist John, also 62, added: “It is so good to be participating in the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games this year, performing for the first time with the CBSO. It will also be exciting to hand around some of the world’s greatest athletes, hoping to get some fitness tips…”
Heavy metal legend Tony, 74, and acclaimed saxophonist Soweto Kinch will lead a dream sequence, ‘Hear my Voice’, based on the title track from 2020 film ‘Trial of the Chicago Seven’, reimagined by local RnB vocalists Indigo Marshall and Gambimi.
Birmingham Conservatoire graduate and mezzo-soprano Samantha Oxborough will perform the National Anthem for the United Kingdom as part of the formal opening of the Games, supported by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
The Closing Ceremony line-up will be announced in the coming weeks.
Commonwealth Games Minister, Nigel Huddleston, said: “The Birmingham 2022 Opening Ceremony is the next blockbuster in our major year of sport and culture – the curtain-raiser for an incredible 11 days of sport.
“London 2012 brought spectacles of this kind to a whole new generation. Ten years on, this ceremony will connect a new, global audience and showcase the very best of Birmingham and the whole of the UK.”
The Opening Ceremony marks the start of 11 days of sport, with 19 events over 16 venues.
It’s a history-making event already, with “the biggest ever para sport programme and featuring more women’s medals than men’s for the first time ever”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Ware has returned with her new single ‘Free Yourself’.
The ‘Spotlight’ hitmaker is back with her first new music since her acclaimed 2020 LP ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ and its expanded edition ‘The Platinum Pleasure Edition’.
The carefree dance anthem is the first taste of what’s to come from the star’s upcoming fifth studio album.
She teased: “I’m so excited for people to have this song for the end of their summer; to dance, to feel no inhibitions and to feel joyful because that’s how I’ve been feeling recently being able to tour again and being able to sing again. Enjoy yourself, Free Yourself!”
In October, Jessie teamed up with Kylie Minogue on a duet of ‘Kiss of Life’ for the Australian pop princess’ deluxe edition of her 2020 ‘DISCO’ album.
Both stars had gone in a Disco-direction on their records and were part of the revival, which was headed up by Dua Lipa’s ‘Future Nostalgia’.
The pair “hit it off” when they recorded an episode of Jessie’s hit podcast ‘Table Manners’.
Meanwhile, the 37-year-old singer is set to support Harry Styles at his upcoming concerts in Chicago as part of his ‘Love On Tour’.
They play five nights at Windy City’s United Center between October 6 and 14.
Jessie previously admitted her latest record requires people to dance freely and be intimate, which wasn’t possible amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
She said at the time of her delayed run: “It’s moved to December which is sensible and realistic, and the album is a sexy dance record – people need to be up close and personal.”
Speaking of the fantasy-led album, she said: “I got there through pure fantasy and desire! I needed to feel like I was almost reacting to the opposite of how I was living my life, however much I adore my life.
“I wanted to pretend that I could write about strangers meeting in clubs, the freeness of that, and it being escapist and fantasy-led. I’d never really explored flirtation through music and it was actually really, really fun and quite addictive.”
