OHMYGOSSIP — Serge Pizzorno had “no choice” but to step up and front Kasabian after Tom Meighan’s exit.
The 41-year-old singer was thrown out of the group he had fronted for two decades after drunkenly assaulting his then-fiancée – and now wife – Vikki Alger on April 9, 2020, an attack for which he was later found guilty of but spared jail.
His conviction and sentence of 200 hours unpaid work prompted his long-time friend Serge and his other bandmates to axe him from the band, saying they could not “condone” Tom’s conviction as “domestic violence is something that can never be excused”.
Tom has since gone solo and Serge says there was no way he could give up on Kasabian because the mountain of songs he’s written single-handedly over the past three decades are so sacred to him.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, he said: “Those words are in my blood.
“I know where I was when I wrote every one of those songs. That counts for something on stage when the words come from within. So, I had to stand up and I had to step up. I had no choice really.”
The guitarist-turned-frontman admitted not only would it have been heartbreaking to disband, but he needs to pay his mortgage.
And despite letting Tom go, Serge – who is also joined by Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews in the ‘Club Foot’ group, with Tim Carter enlisted as their touring guitarist – insisted they are always there for their ex-bandmate if he needs them.
He went on: “To park Kasabian’s songs for the rest of my life didn’t just affect me. It affected Dibs (Chris) and Ian, our crew, and families.
“What else were we going to do? Go and do something else? I have to pay my f****** mortgage and so we had to do what made us happy .
“We made the decision as a band to carry on with me as singer. Tom knows that we’re there if he needs us. We spoke to him and he knows that. But subsequently, he’s moved on. He went solo before we even knew what we were going to do.”
Serge admits he has never wanted to be a lead singer and compared it to jumping out of a plane and “freefalling” when he steps out on the stage.
He said: “I didn’t want to be the singer. It’s not my calling. But out of necessity I am now.
“There’s not been that much time to think too deeply, which is good for me as I can overthink.
“I can go to places when I’m on the sofa, but when I am on that stage the focus is absolutely insane. I just get on with it. It’s like jumping out of a plane.
“As long as you pack the parachute yourself, you’re OK. Once you’ve made the choice and stepped on to that stage, there’s no turning back. You are freefalling and I can’t be worrying about any of it by then.”
Kasabian will release their first studio album since Tom left, ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’, on August 12.

OHMYGOSSIP — Calvin Harris was surprised Jorja Smith agreed to work with him because he assumed she was “standoffish”.
The 38-year-old superstar DJ-and-producer has just dropped his star-studded first album in five years, ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2’, which features the likes of Halsey, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Dua Lipa, Pharrell Williams, and Pusha T.
And the British star lent her vocals to the track ‘Somebody Else’, which also features Lil Durk.
The ‘Potion’ hitmaker admits he got Jorja’s vibe totally wrong and she was thrilled to be asked to feature on the laidback funk tune.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Calvin said of teaming up with the 25-year-old BRIT Award-winning and Grammy-nominated artist: “It was amazing. It was actually surprising, initially, to me that she wanted to work [with me]. Like, that she was receptive to that. Because the persona I feel like that she puts out is a little bit, for me, a little bit standoffish. So, I was like, ‘Well … she’s probably not up for it.” And, she was so up for it. Not only was she up for it, she was very, sort of, excited and happy to do it, and the song turned out amazingly, I think. Like, when she put out, I think on a second album (sic) [EP ‘Be Right Back’], this song called ‘Bussdown’, and her voice seemed to hit this new level that I’d never heard anything like it in my life. I’ve rinsed that record just in the car, and everywhere. And, I thought, ‘Wow, if I can get her to sound like that, over one of these kind of beats, it would just be phenomenal.’ And it turns out it actually just sounds like that. So, it was easy.”
Meanwhile, Calvin has ruled out playing any of his ‘Funk Wav’ songs – including those on 2017’s ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ – during his DJ sets, though ‘Slide’ with Frank Ocean and Migos is an exception.
He said: “It’s impossible. I play ‘Slide’ now and that was ever since Hampden [Park] – a nice little interlude! But, as for everything else, no. There’s no point in trying, man. There’s no trying to shoehorn. I could play ‘Slide’ but I couldn’t play ‘Feels’. I would feel strange about playing that. So, it’s one of them. But no, there’s nothing from this album I’m going to try and shoehorn in there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — YUNGBLUD has released the new single ‘The Emperor’.
The ‘fleabag’ rocker’s latest tune has been chosen as the official 2022 anthem for ESPN’s College Football Season.
YUNGBLUD – whose real name is Dominic Harrison – follows in the footsteps of the likes of Imagine Dragons, 30 Seconds to Mars, and the late Juice WRLD in soundtracking the televised campaign.
The 25-year-old musician was just 17 when he penned the track and always knew it would “have its moment one day”.
He said: “It’s a massive honour to have my song ‘The Emperor’ chosen as the anthem for ESPN’s College Football Season. I wrote this song when I was seventeen, it was just an outburst of unfiltered energy that I knew would have its moment one day. I played it live for years but never found the right time to release it until now. College football is such a massive part of American culture and all I ever want to do is bring energy to people, so I can’t wait for the song to bring that energy to the fans and the players at the games all season.”
The ‘cotton candy’ star releases his self-titled album on September 2, it includes the already released Ozzy Osbourne-featuring single ‘The Funeral,’ ‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today,’ and ‘Memories’ with Willow.
Meanwhile, YUNGBLUD is eyeing a collaboration with The Rolling Stones after meeting idol Sir Mick Jagger.
He got the chance to meet the ‘Satisfaction’ singer at their Liverpool concert at Anfield football stadium in June, and the 78-year-old music legend had also applauded him for carrying the torch for rock ‘n’ roll in the 21st century by presenting him with a guitar inspired by the late Buddy Holly’s Gibson J-45.
YUNGBLUD said: “He’s a real hero of mine. We talked about music, the state of rock ’n’ roll, the energy within it and the diversity in rock music right now.
“Thank f*** people are getting p***** off again. “People need to be p***** off.
“That’s what rock ’n’ roll is founded on – energy and love.”
Asked if a Stones collaboration is on the cards, he replied: “I’d love that. We’re in contact, we’ve met and if the opportunity arises, absolutely.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Elbow and Easy Life will play Glastonbury’s legendary Pilton Party.
After a three-year break owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the world-famous music festival’s annual fundraising gig for villagers, workers and local people will be back on September 2.
Both Manchester rockers Elbow and Easy Life performed at the main event at Worthy Farm in June.
The Velvet Hands and Inkara are also on the bill, and DJ Patmandu will bring the party to a close.
Tickets are only available in person at the Festival Office, in Northload Street, Glastonbury from 10am to 4pm, Saturday (06.08.22).
The 2019 event was headlined by Supergrass, who performed for the first time in a decade.
The Britpop legends – comprising Gaz Coombes, Danny Goffey, Micke Quinn and Rob Coombes – celebrated their 25th anniversary with the comeback set.
The ‘Moving’ rockers split in 2010 after 17 years together and six albums, due to creative differences.
The 2018 charity gig was headlined by another Britpop hero, Liam Gallagher.
Glastonbury 2022 was headlined by Sir Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar.
No one has been announced for the 2023 festival, however, Melanie C – who teamed up with Stockport rockers Blossoms on a cover of ‘Spice Up Your Life’ this year – previously hinted at reuniting with Victoria Beckham at Glastonbury.
The fashion designer didn’t join the ‘Wannabe’ hitmakers on their reunion tour in 2019 and Melanie believes the only thing that could entice Posh Spice to join the group on stage again would be if they got a slot at Glasto, so she urged fans to start a petition to campaign organisers Michael and Emily Eavis to book them for the event.
She said: “I don’t think we’ve been asked in all honesty, we haven’t been asked to do it, but I do believe it could be the thing that would see all five girls on stage. So should we start a petition?”
Despite her comments last year, Diana Ross played the coveted Legends slot in June, which the Spice Girls had previously been tipped for.

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay was hard on himself for not being as big as Ed Sheeran when he supported the Grammy winner.
The ‘Let It Go’ hitmaker – who has opened up about struggling with anxiety and impostor syndrome – was the opening act on the ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker 2019 stadium run, and James admits the “really disproportionate” comparison was “unhealthy”.
He told the ‘Diary Of A CEO’ podcast: “It is really disproportionate and ­probably unhealthy when I think, ‘OK, Ed Sheeran has invited me to open for him in football stadiums around Europe for three months and there are 80,000 people every night. Wow’.
“And the bit I hate to admit – and I’m anxious to ­confess – is that there is a voice in my head saying, ‘Why aren’t you doing the stadiums?’ I call myself all sorts of names. ‘Why isn’t it your show?’ ”
Nevertheless, the 31-year-old star – who shot to fame in 2014 with the hit ‘Hold Back The River’ – was grateful to the flame-haired pop megastar, who is the same age as him, for giving him the chance to perform to the masses.
He added: “I was very thankful in that moment that Ed brought me in front of such big crowds because it was exciting to see that my music was still reaching.”
Ed rose to prominence a few years before James in 2011 and has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling musicians.
The Hitchin-born star just released his third studio album, ‘Leap’, while Ed dropped his fifth record, ‘=’, last October.
James previously confessed to having a difficult time on Ed’s tour.
He shared: “To be really f****** honest with you, I lost myself a bit.
“I’m going back to 2019, I was rolling around the world, I got invited on tour with Ed Sheeran and I was having a nice time on the surface.
“But inside I felt weird and I did some writing and it was all a bit of a blur.
“When I was feeling weird I was feeling lonely and I felt like I couldn’t connect with anybody. It’s a difficult thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Black Eyed Peas halted their LooseFest set while a fan received medical assistance.
The group were midway through their headline set at the music event in Newcastle on 30 July when will.i.am suddenly stopped their performance of recent hit ‘Girl Like Me’ and urged spectators to “clear the way” as medics moved through the crowd to attend to the reveller.
The ‘Voice’ coach told the crowd to put “safety first” and the band – including new singer J. Rey Soul – then restarted the song before finishing off their set with some of their biggest hits including ‘Where is the Love?’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’.
The band were among over 70 artists performing at LooseFest, with others taking to the stage including AJ Tracey, Paul Woolford, Patrick Topping, Example, Alan Fitzpatrick, Wilkinson, Clean Bandit, and Sunday’s (31.07.22) headliner Mabel.
Festival bosses were particularly thrilled to have the ‘Good Luck’ singer close out the event amid the publication of statists that showed just 13% of festival headliners this year were women or minority groups.
Brian Austin, one of the directors of LooseFest said; “There are some very talented female artists on the music scene with emerging talent more prolific than ever. We love to champion talent, many who have emerged after finding their musical vocation (and decks) in lockdown.
“Securing international music artists like Mabel and Black Eyed Peas was a huge moment for the team, especially after the challenges for the music industry, It’s been intense, but we were determined to make it happen. We’re so proud of what we have achieved.”
After pulling together LooseFest in just four months, LooseFest 2023 has already been confirmed.
Dean Saunders, a director of LooseFest, said: “This has been everything we have ever dreamed of, so much work has gone on behind the scenes, day and night to try and make it as amazing as possible for everyone. It was incredible to see loads of people enjoying themselves again”.

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Richards thinks Steps wouldn’t still be together now if they hadn’t split in 2001.
The 44-year-old star thinks it was important that the pop group – also made up of Lee Latchford-Evans, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, and Ian “H” Watkins – broke up at the “height of [their] career” in the early Noughties, rather than during a low period.
She told Bella magazine: “I believe that everything happens for a reason. If we hadn’t split up when we did back in 2001, I honestly don’t think we would be here doing it now.
“We finished at the absolute height of our career – we were coming to the end of a sold-out arena tour and the greatest hits album had been number one, so we were riding high.”
But following the group’s break up, Claire admits she and H didn’t ever expect the band to reunite.
However, they did in 2011 and filmed a four-part Sky documentary, ‘Steps Reunion’, in which the pop group discussed the highs and lows of their time in the band.
Claire believes Steps being able to speak out about their experiences has led to the ‘To the Beat of My Heart’ hitmakers – who will celebrate their 25th anniversary this year – being “stronger than ever”.
She added: “As far as H and myself were concerned, when we left, it was done – and I don’t think we ever thought we would come back.
“But we’ve been together longer this time now than we were the first time, since 2011, when we aired out dirty laundry for the whole world to see.
“It’s made us stronger than ever and we’re committed to working together to keep on.
“It’s about the fans now. They wanted us back, so as long as they want us, we will be here. We still love what we do.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyonce and Madonna have joined forces for a ‘Break My Soul’ remix.
The 40-year-old singer has dropped ‘The Queens Remix’ of ‘Break My Soul’ featuring snippets of Madonna’s 1990 hit Vogue.
Imitating Madonna’s classic spoken-word section of ‘Vogue’ Beyonce name-drops iconic Black women in music, including Aaliyah, Nina Simone and her own sister, Solange Knowles.
She also gives a shoutout to Madonna, 63, singing: “Queen Mother Madonna, Aaliyah, Rosetta Tharpe, Santigold, Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, Betty Davis, Solange Knowles. Lauryn Hill, Roberta Flack, Toni, Janet, Tierra Whack. Missy, Diana, Grace Jones, Aretha, Anita, Grace Jones.”
This is the first collaboration between Madonna and Beyonce.
Beyonce had already surprised fans by releasing four different versions of her ‘Break My Soul’ earlier this week.
The first song on the four-track EP is a three-minute 58 seconds will.i.am remix of ‘Break My Soul’, while US DJ Terry Hunter provides a five-minute 30-second version.
A six-minute 27 seconds Honey Dijon remix is the third song, and the final one is a mammoth nine-minute 54-second Nita Aviance Club Mix.
The release came after fans spotted Beyonce – who released seventh studio album ‘Renaissance’ last week – appeared to have removed samples of two Kelis tunes from one of the new album’s tracks, ‘Energy’, on some streaming platforms, just days after Kelis accused the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker of using them without her approval.
It comes after Beyonce also removed an offensive term for disabled people from the lyrics of the song ‘Heated’.
The multi-Grammy winner announced the move earlier this week, after it was called “ableist” and “offensive” by disability charities and activists.
In the tune – which was co-written with rapper Drake – Beyonce used a derogatory term for spastic diplegia, a form of cerebral palsy, in the lines: “Spazzing on that a**, spaz on that a**.”
A representative for the musician revealed the lyric would be changed, saying: “The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Numan regrets retiring at the age of 23.
The 64-year-old musician says announcing at Wembley in 1981 after two years of huge global success that he was giving up his career will always be one of his biggest regrets.
He told Big Issue magazine: “It’s easy to look at all the mistakes that you made and wish that you could go back and fix them. But the mistakes make a shape to the life you have now. So if you go back and fix them, the trajectory of your life might change. I made really big mistakes – retiring at Wembley is the obvious one.”
But Gary admitted he also has made mistakes in his personal life too.
He said: “There are some really major things I wish I’d never said, people I’ve hurt and have enormous regrets over, and definitely the way I let my mum and dad down at school. But I’ve lived the life I have because of those mistakes.”
The ‘Cars’ hitmaker also revealed he struggled with fame, and the way it impacted on his life.
He explained: “There’s a whole other side of fame which arrives just as quickly [as success] and it’s just as enormous. That’s much more difficult to deal with but you have to pretend it isn’t because it spoils the image of everything about success being great.
“Some people do love it and thrive in it, like they were made to be famous. Some people get druggie and drinkie and some even die. And some are like me – this bit is great, but I can’t get through all the stuff that comes with it. It’s like jumping on a speeding train. It’s thrilling and incredibly exciting at first but then it gets frightening and horrible and you’re getting bashed to f***. At some point you just lose your grip and fall off and then you find yourself in the middle of nowhere.
“It look me such a long time to find my way back on track. In 2013 I got to number 20. The album after that went to number two and my most recent one was number two. In 1994 I didn’t even have a record deal. I literally couldn’t give tickets away for gigs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Willow Smith says it took “courage” to take a career break.
Following the success of her single ‘Whip My Hair’ in 2010, when she was just 10 years old, Willow was due to record her debut album with Roc Nation but she walked away and took a break from 2011 to 2014.
She told Billboard: “It took a lot of courage for me to say ‘no’ because everyone was rooting for me and trying to support me and expected me to do it. I was just going to dig myself a deeper and deeper hole if I didn’t advocate for myself as early as I did.”
Roc Nation co-president Omar Grant said: “We’re invested in the long-term career of artists. Giving her that space and knowing how young she was and how long of a runway she has… it’s fine for her to take a break and to find herself.”
Willow, 21, now steers her career in the way she wants and she is happy that she has been able to work in the rock genre.
She said: “I wanted to go for rock. I didn’t want to go for pop punk. I didn’t want to go for what’s necessarily popular right now. I wanted to go for the heart of rock music, which to me is a deep outcry — maybe about pain, maybe about joy.”
Roc Nation co-president Shari Bryant said: “We want to make sure that we are supporting and we’re not manufacturing an artist. If an artist is telling us, ‘This is the state that I am in today, and this is where my passion lies,’ from a label standpoint, it’s up to us to support that. Willow has always shown nothing but pure authenticity. She has been a self-starter. She has been involved in every project. Once that comes across, it’s like, how could you deny it?”

OHMYGOSSIP — KT Tunstall’s sudden success felt like “being fired like a human cannonball”.
The 47-year-old star had been trying to forge a career as a musician for 10 years to no avail when she received just 24 hours notice to step in and perform ‘Black Horse and the Cherry Tree’ on BBC’s respected music programme ‘Later… With Jools Holland’ and things took off very quickly from there.
She recalled to Red magazine: “It was like being fired like a human cannonball.
“It was completely bananas. I was running my own website at the time, so people could email me. I’d usually get a couple of emails a day, but when I woke up, I had 600.
“But the experience spawned one of my favourite sayings, ‘Luck is being ready.’ You may as well ot have the opportunity if you don’t make use of it. You have to be prepared to step into the light and f****** shine.”
KT admitted she relied on alcohol to handle the pressure that came with fame, and though she doesn’t think she had a “massive problem”, she eventually quit boozing completely for several years.
She said: “I definitely used alcohol. I had a great time but I definitely employed the, ‘Keep your head down and pretend it isn’t happening’ mentality.
“I loved getting drunk. But I did feel this shift where drinking started becoming a medicine – that wasn’t good.
“So in 2012, when I had this epiphany, I stopped drinking entirely for six years.
“I wouldn’t say I had a massive problem – I wasn’t drinking in the day or before a show, always afterwards, but it just wasn’t fun any more.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Richards can’t believe she’s still a member of Steps.
The ‘5, 6, 7, 8’ hitmakers celebrate their 25th anniversary this year and the 44-year-old singer admitted she and her bandmates Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, all now 46, and Lee Latchford-Evans, 47, never expected the group to keep going for so long when they first formed in 1997.
She told the latest issue of new! magazine: “I don’t think any of us knew or realised that it would be 25 years and we’re still going.
“It’s over half my life that I’ve been in Steps. I’ve been in it longer than I haven’t been in it! I can’t actually believe it’s been 25 years – that’s a long time.
“When you get to that point in your life and look at your career, it’s quite unbelievable because I don’t feel a day older than I did when we first started. And our relationships with each other are pretty much the same as they were 25 years ago, too.”
After four years in the band, in 2001 H and Claire quit to form a duo of the same name, a partnership that led to three Top 10 singles.
Ten years later, Steps temporarily reformed, before going on a break to pursue solo projects and getting back together again in 2017.
But Claire says they are now spending a lot of time together.
She added: “We’ve been seeing each other a lot because we’re doing some shows for a summer festival tour.
“We’ve got promo for our new album and we’ve been working hard on new material as well as touring, I think we might be due a break!”
Claire added they were originally brought together to be a line-dancing band, hence the name.
She said: “I’m proud of all of our careers. We have proven people wrong time and time again, we’ve exceeded all of our expectations and everyone’s expectations.
“Pete Waterman (the producer who signed the band) is probably the only one that saw it right from the start.
“I’m proud of everything that we’ve achieved. I know that we’ve got a legacy that we can be proud of, and we should be because we’ve worked hard to keep it going.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Courtney Love has finally finished writing her memoir.
The Hole frontwoman originally planned to release ‘Girl With the Most Cake’ in 2013 but she has been “dragging [her] a**” on the book and it’s taken until now for her and ghostwriter Alex Abramovich to finish work on the tome.
She wrote on Instagram: “Dude(s). I think I might have just signed off on my book…. After a fucking DECADE of dragging my ass (@abramovich.alex patience of a SAINT) @harpercollins don’t pop the champagne quite yet. “The sex work is in! The sex work is in”
“Yeah but the doll is on a FULL MEDIA BLACKOUT (quoting the great Del Rey genius “NO-ONE TELLS MY STORY BUT ME” motto. Bible)

Although the 58-year-old singer has finished writing, she warned fans they may still have a long wait to read the book because of supply issues.
She continued: “There’s a (no kidding) very real paper supply chain back up, so don’t ask me when (The important thing is that it’s good now.) (sic)”
Courtney – who has 30-year-old daughter Frances with late husband Kurt Cobain – explained the book will reflect on her “crazy luck” and she has “changed the phony rags to riches narrative” to tell the real story of her life.
She said: “Lots of what Alex calls my ‘Victorian adventures’ and I seem to have 29 lives counting. With crazy luck of being in the right place, right time (and sometimes way wrong!)

OHMYGOSSIP — Jimmy Cliff is returning to music with a new single and album.
The reggae legend has teamed up with Wyclef Jean for the new track ‘Refugees’, which was released on Friday (29.07.22).
The new song is the title track for Jimmy’s first album for over a decade which will be released on August 12.
With both a Dance Version and Rap Version, ‘Refugees’ captures the spirit of Jimmy’s classic output with a hip-hop twist courtesy of Fugees co-founder Wyclef Jean.
The son continues the creative connection between the pair after Wyclef inducted Jimmy into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
Jimmy, 77, said of the new track: “I’m very proud of this, because it sees Jimmy Cliff in a new musical direction. I’ll always go into something new. Even though ‘Refugees’ is a heavy title, you’re going to be moving your feet, because it’s on the dancefloor. There we go. I love it.”
Wyclef commented: “For me, coming to America wasn’t easy when I first got here. Having family members who suffered political torment, it wasn’t easy for us. When I say ‘Fugees’, ‘Fugees’ is short for ‘Refugees’.
“I was always like, ‘If I could penetrate a message, it would be that.’ And who inspires that? Jimmy Cliff is one of my biggest inspirations ever, and he has always stayed on message when it comes to peace, love and unity. The collaboration with this record is just what we are, talking for the forgotten. In an era where love is needed, I don’t think anybody can convey that better than the king.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Beyoncé has the “same level of intensity” in the vocal booth as Michael Jackson, their producer Rodney Jerkins says.
The ‘Halo’ hitmaker – who has just released her seventh studio album ‘Renaissance’ – is a perfectionist like the late ‘Thriller’ hitmaker and will keep doing takes until her vocals are absolutely “flawless”.
Speaking on the ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’ podcast, Rodney spilled: “When I work with her, it reminds me so much of working with Michael Jackson.
“She has that same type of intensity in the booth. And she pushes herself… There’s moments where she’ll do something and everybody in the room knows it’s flawless. And she’ll say, ‘Let me get that again.’”
Rodney aka Darkchild produced the megastar’s 2006 mega-hit ‘Déjà Vu’ and her band Destiny’s Child classics ‘Say My Name’ and ‘Cater 2 U’, while he’s also the studio wizard behind the late King of Pop’s 2001 hit ‘You Rock My World’.
Rodney also revealed there are several unreleased Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child tracks from their time working together.
He said: “If she ever wanted to put out unreleased stuff, her fans would go crazy for those ones.. I’m sure she has so many songs she could put out for years.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Love On Top’ singer revealed that ‘Renaissance’ is part of a “three-act project”.
The 40-year-old singer has been working on the extensive collection over the last three years throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a statement posted online marking the release of ‘Renaissance’, Beyoncé explained: “This three-act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.”
She included a special thanks to her three children, Blue Ivy, and twins Rumi and Sir, as well as her husband Jay Z and added of the record: “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world.
“It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking.”

OHMYGOSSIP — JLS took a “massive risk” in going on tour last year.
The quartet split in 2013 but reunited in February 2020, with a comeback concert series originally scheduled for November that year, but it was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Marvin Humes admitted it was a bold move eventually going ahead with the dates in October 2021 because there was no guarantee further restrictions would be put in place.
Marvin told heat magazine: “We were the first major tour back on the road last October and November and we took a massive risk by doing those dates because it may not have happened and we would have had to move it for the fourth time.”
The former ‘X Factor’ contestants didn’t get to socialise much outside of the concerts because of the pandemic.
Marvin continued: “The rules were so strict, so we were in a bubble and after the show we would just go back to our hotel.
“We’d have a communal room for the four of us and our management and security where we’d have a drink and play poker or computer games.
“It was actually quite nice. I missed a lot of DJing on the tour but in hindsight, we were so knackered, there’s no way I could have gone out after a show to do the DJ set.”
The ‘Beat Again’ hitmakers – which also include Aston Merrygold, J.B. Gill, and Ortise Williams – made sure their families were at the heart of their tour arrangements.
Marvin said: “It was all about our kids and our families.
“That was nice, because we were all on the same page.
“The lovely things was that when we were in rehearsals, if one of us had to shoot off early to do a school pick-up or miss a day because of a school play or whatever, we all totally got that.
“All our kids came onstage one night and that’s a great memory for them to have.
“There was no pressure this time around and everything had changed around us, but also nothing has changes around us.
“We all respect each other and there are no massive egos. We planned to do 12 shows and ended up doing 30 and we loved it.”
