OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes has teased her collaboration with The Weeknd is arriving this summer.
The 34-year-old experimental pop artist – who has son X Æ A-Xii, two, and eight-month-old Exa Dark Sideræl with Tesla tycoon Elon Musk – has claimed fans don’t have long to wait for her new song and music video with her fellow Canadian to drop.
Speaking in a cover interview with Vogue China, she spilled: “It will be a trip. Definitely worth watching to the end, listening to the monologues and then getting into the drama.”
The track in question is called ‘Sci-Fi’, according to a Discord server exchange between the ‘Oblivion’ star and a fan.
When one user asked: “Grimes an weeknd collab when (sic)”, she replied: “It’s called Sci Fi.”
Grimes previously revealed she had been working with “genius” Canadian songwriter Illangelo – a long-time collaborator of The Weeknd.
She said of the collaborations she has in the pipeline: “Just did a lot of work with Illangelo.”
And on working with Caroline Polachek, she said: “CAROLINE AND I HAVE STARTED A THING BUT SHES RLY GOOD AT MUSIC AND ITS DAMNED COMPLEX! IM LIKE WTF IS THIS. (sic)”
The music star – whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher – was also asked if she’d like to collaborate with the likes of Travis Scott and Dua Lipa and hailed Doja Cat her “favourite” artist.
Grimes’ new album will be the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Miss Anthropocene’.
In the Vogue China interview, she also revealed the upcoming LP titled ‘Book 1’ is part of her AI girl group project NPC.
The visual artist explained: “They all exist in the same dimension, NPC girls literally live in ‘Book 1’ – If we were living in the cosmic lore of ‘Book 1’, NPC would be the pop girl group that dominated the culture and their EP would be called ‘Fairies C** First’, so all these projects would come together and merge into one project at the end.”
As for The Weeknd, the ‘Blinding Lights’ hitmaker released his most recent LP ‘Dawn FM’ in January, which is part of a trilogy.

OHMYGOSSIP — Depeche Mode are back in the studio for the first time since Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher’s passing.
Dave Gahan and Martin Gore have seemingly revealed they are “focusing” all their energy on recording new music following the tragic loss of co-founding member and keyboardist Fletch in June aged 60.
Alongside the studio snap, they wrote on Instagram: “Finding stability in what we know and love, and focusing on what gives life meaning and purpose.”
The synth-pop pioneers’ last record was 2017’s ‘Spirit’.
The surviving members of the ‘Enjoy the Silence’ group thanked fans for the “outpouring of love” for the musician amid this “strange, sad, disorienting” time.
They said in a previous Instagram post: “We wanted to take a moment and acknowledge the outpouring of love for Andy that we’ve seen from all of you over the last few weeks.
“It’s incredible to see all of your photos, to read your words, and to see how much Andy meant to all of you.
“As you can imagine, it’s been a strange, sad, disorienting few weeks for us here, to say the least.
“But we’ve seen and felt all of your love and support, and we know that Andy’s family has too.”
Confirming his cause of death, the pair revealed Fletch suffered an aortic dissection, a tear in the large blood vessel of the heart, and “passed naturally” and peacefully.
They added: “A couple weeks ago we received the result from the medical examiners, which Andy’s family asked us to share with you now. Andy suffered an aortic dissection while at home on May 26. So, even though it was far, far too soon, he passed naturally and without prolonged suffering.”
Martin, 61, and Dave, 60, also revealed they joined Andy’s close family and friends at a “beautiful” celebration of life in London.
The duo signed off the post: “So thank you for all of the love you’ve shown Andy and his family and friends over the last few weeks. It honestly means the world to all of us. Andy, you’ll be missed, but certainly not forgotten.”
In a joint statement announcing the shock news of Andy’s death, they wrote: “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher.
“Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Hoppus has insisted he’s “open to whatever the next phase of Blink-182 is” after denying reports suggesting Tom DeLonge had re-joined the band.
Earlier this month, the 50-year-old musician put a stop to speculation that his ex-bandmate was in the ‘Feeling This’ group again.
However, the Simple Creatures star insisted he’s very “hopeful” about the future and wouldn’t rule anything out.
Speaking to the latest issue of People magazine, Mark – who was declared cancer-free in September 2021 – said: “I keep writing music, and I’m open to whatever the next phase of Blink is.
“I’m hopeful for the future. I’m just damn glad to be here.”
Mark, Tom and drummer Travis Barker, 46, were in the same room for the first time in around five years while he was battling an aggressive form of lymphoma.
He said: “It was the first time that all three of us were in the same room in like five years.
“There was no agenda. There were no lingering grudges. It felt very back to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room.”
And former co-vocalist and guitarist Tom, 46, even suggested a “panacea” to help with the side effects of the intense chemotherapy sessions he underwent.
Recently, Tom’s replacement Matt Skiba admitted he was unsure whether he’s still in the trio, and then Tom appeared to hint he had re-joined on social media.
The 46-year-old Alkaline Trio frontman started touring with the rock veterans in 2015, following the second departure of Tom.
He remained in the group and went on to record two albums (2016’s ‘California’ and 2019’s ‘Nine’) with them.
However, he did not appear on their 2020 single ‘Quarantine’, which was released amid the global pandemic.
And when one Instagram user commented on Matt’s selfie with “no Blink content” and “the Blink guys don’t post pictures with Matt” last month, he replied: “Your guess is as good as mine.
“Regardless, I am very proud of and thankful for my time with Blink 182. We shall see…”
Then, eagle-eyed fans noticed Tom updated his Instagram bio to include: “I make music (@blink182 and @angelsandairwaves)…”
He also posted a black-and-white photograph of the ‘Feeling This’ trio and simply tagged the group in the caption.
However, taking to his Discord page, Mark insisted Tom had not returned and suggested his throwback post was for sentimental reasons as Blink turned 30 that week.
He wrote: “There is no news to share. There is no announcement. Today is thirty years of BLINK-182!
“If and when blink has any announcement about anything, you will hear it from the official BLINK-182 outlets. Not teased on a radio station like ‘tune in for a major announcement…Tom tagged Mark in a photo from two decades ago. (sic)'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato’s “dream collaboration” is still Hayley Williams.
The ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer was inspired to switch up her sound by noughties pop rock stars Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson and Paramore.
And while discussing the heavier direction of her forthcoming album, ‘Holy Fvck’, Demi put it out into the world that she would still very much like to duet with the ‘Misery Business’ group’s lead singer.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, she said: “One influence that really changed where I wanted to go directionally into music was Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’. It was a monster record. And I saw the transformation of her as an artist go from R’n’B soul pop to pop rock. And I was like, wait, that’s what I want to do. And there’s also Ashlee Simpson ‘LaLa’, and I was like, I want to do that. So I got inspired and then I found bands like Paramore and Flyleaf. I’ve known Hayley since … I think I met her when I was 15. She seems like the type of person that would be pulling for me during those times. But yeah. I didn’t get to know her that well, but she’s one of my biggest influences vocally. Oh my God. I mean she’s still my dream collaboration. It’s never happened, but she’s still my dream collaboration. To be honest, I gave up on that dream collaboration. So I didn’t say it for years, but that’s always been my dream collaboration.”
Elsewhere in the wide-ranging interview, Demi admitted she previously chased radio hits and lost sight of the artist she truly is.
The ‘Cool for the Summer’ singer felt “miserable” singing the songs on stage and despised dressing in leotards in heels because that wasn’t her style.
However, she has since been on a road to discovering herself again.
She recalled: “When I started my first two albums, I feel like my instincts were on track and I was doing the music that I loved listening to. And then I strayed away from it because I thought, ‘Well, I want radio songs.’ You know what I’m saying? I want songs that are going to be played on the radio, so I started doing more pop music. And I started to lose myself as well as myself as an artist … and honestly, it didn’t reflect what was inside of me. And I would get on stage, and I’d be in these leotards and these stiletto shoes that I was miserable in. And I danced. I did choreography and stuff like that, and I just wasn’t happy. And so I think that that led to me completely losing myself to find myself again, and I’ve started to find myself over time. And it’s funny that when you just go back to who you were in the beginning, as a 15-year-old, my instincts were correct. And I just got to stick to those but harder.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Proclaimers have been surprised by their own longevity.
Craig and Charlie Reid formed the group in 1983, and Craig admits that they’ve already surpassed their own expectations in the music business.
He said: “We’ve had a much longer run at it than we thought we would, so now we are at 60 we just want to do the best that we can and do it for as long as we can and to keep enjoying it.”
The group are currently touring and their classic tunes remain as popular as ever.
Charlie, 60, told the BBC: “‘500 Miles’, ‘Letter from America’, ‘Let’s Get Married’, ‘Sunshine on Leith’, we always do them at every show.
“The fact that people still want to hear them 30 years later is great for us and I suppose for the audience it connects them with their own past as well. But to do a show without any new songs would not be right because I think as writers we’ve got better as time’s gone on.”
The Proclaimers’ latest album, ‘Dentures Out’, is much more political than many of their recent records. And Craig suggests that Britain is in a state of “terminal decline”.
He said: “I think Britain has been diminishing in power and reach since World War Two, but I think that in the last 10 years Britain has nose-dived as regards its own self-worth and certainly in regard to its own place in the community of nations.”
Charlie also admits that the new album has a strong sense of “nostalgia” about it.
He reflected: “For the first time ever there’s a constant theme in an album we’ve done. A lot of it is about nostalgia, about people looking back and perhaps looking back with rose-coloured glasses or not remembering at all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kid Cudi is a “relationship man”.
The 38-year-old rap star has previously dated the likes of Jamie Baratta, an entertainment attorney, and actress Raquel Deriane – and although he’s currently a single man, Cudi would actually love to settle down with someone.
The ‘Just What I Am’ hitmaker – who has a 12-year-old daughter called Vada – told Esquire: “I want a girlfriend. I want a girlfriend. I need to be with somebody. Most people would think I enjoy being single, because I’m single a lot. But I’m a relationship man.
“My goal is to find someone. Soon, hopefully. And get married and have more kids.”
Cudi is also looking forward to seeing his daughter go on her own journey of self-discovery.
The rap star explained: “She might not have it all figured out. But once she’s out in the world and she’s in college, whatever she chooses to do, she’ll have some living under her belt. She’ll be out in the world on her own. And she can maybe understand some things.
“It might take her some time.”
Cudi checked himself into rehab in 2016 for depression and suicidal urges.
And the chart-topping rapper previously admitted that he felt “ashamed” to speak about his mental health struggles.
He shared: “I was really good at keeping my troubles hidden … even from my friends.
“I really was good with that. And it’s scary because you hear people say, ‘I had no clue.'”
On the other hand, Cudi’s music has actually helped him to cope with his mental health issues.
He said in 2018: “I’m focusing on my art again and throwing myself back into it and wanting to write something with more of a positive outlook on things, because I’ve written the dark so well for so long.
“I wanted to bring the opposite of that, you know? I’m at a place where I was able to do that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Libertines are to play “two last-minute shows” in the UK.
The ‘Can’t Stand Me Now’ hitmakers – made up of Pete Doherty, Carl Barat, John Hassall and Gary Powell – will hit the road for a pair of gigs “very soon”, but they have so far kept fans guessing about the location and dates.
A tweet on the band’s official Twitter account read: “2 last minute UK shows to be announced very soon, where we heading?”
This year, the group have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album ‘Up the Bracket’.
But Gary has admitted he is more interested in making a new album than celebrating their first record.
He told NME: “My mind is more in line with the opportunity to record a new album than anything regarding 20 years ago. We’ve been playing the majority of the album [‘Up the Bracket’] for 20 years now, so this year for me, is a great opportunity to draw a line under this part of the saga and move on to the next phase.”
Gary also admitted that while the group aren’t going to take on a full genre change with their new material, he hopes they will be able to “push the boat out a little more”.
He added: “The good thing is everybody’s been writing. I’m hoping there’s going to be a whole new fervour and interesting dimension added to how we approach things.
“Obviously, we’re not going to try and reinvent the wheel and be like Depeche Mode going from rock ‘n’ roll to electronic, but I think we can push the boat out a little more while still bringing something that has the same emotional integrity and dynamism that the audience craves when they come to a Libertines show.”
Pete recently teased plans for a follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’, saying: “We still feel there’s unfinished business and there are more
songs to write. But he [Barat] doesn’t want to do it in England, or in France, which he sees as my turf.
“So the plan is to go to Jamaica and try to make another Libertines record.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne wishes he had made “more varied” music.
The ‘Paranoid’ rocker is proud of the way Black Sabbath made heavy metal “big” but he admitted he would have like to have explored outside of the genre and produced some songs that were less “aggressive”.
Asked if he wishes he had ever moved away from heavy metal, he told The Sun newspaper: “You know what, I would have liked to have been a little more varied.
“Black Sabbath music is very aggressive even if some of it is foot-tapping.
“But we fought the f****** world to make it big. But mind you, it’s a good thing we didn’t get our royalties when we were 23 because I would have f***** myself into another planet.”
The 73-year-old rocker admitted there are some collaborations he’d loved to have been able to secure.
He said: ““John Lennon if he was alive. [I’m a] giant f****** Beatles fan.
“And I’d have to have Jimi Hendrix, right?”
He then reflected on how he’d have liked to have done more with Randy Rhoads, who played on Ozzy’s first two solo albums, ‘Blizzard of Oz’ and ‘Diary of a Madman’ before dying in a light aircraft crash in 1982 aged just 25.
Ozzy said: “Randy was so good, so f***ing clever. He’s up there, man.”
The ‘Changes’ singer’s upcoming new album, ‘Patient Number 9′, features a long list of guest artists, including his former Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses, and Jane’s Addiction’s Chris Chaney.
And Ozzy admitted he was “blown away” by all the musicians.
He said: “I’ve never been someone who has guests on albums.
“You can’t reproduce what they do when you’re playing live but I’m blown away by those people on my record.”
The veteran rocker doesn’t think so many collaborations would have happened if it wasn’t for the COVID-19 pandemic.
He explained: “So they weren’t going on a tour bus and, for about three months, they weren’t even going out at all.
“As usual, America went over the top when the pandemic started. People were buying a thousand f****** kitchen rolls!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj has released her X-rated single, ‘Super Freaky Girl’.
The 39-year-old rap megastar doesn’t hold back on the racy new track, which samples Rick James’ 1980s’ classic ‘Super Freak’.
She spits over the funky bassline: “You can smack it, you can grip it, you can go down and kiss it / And every time he leave me alone he always tell me he miss it.”
The new single comes days after it was announced that the ‘Super Bass’ hitmaker will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the VMAs.
Nicki will be bestowed with the special honour at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.
She reacted: “I’m receiving the Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 #VMAs! You DO NOT !!!! I REPEAT!!!! You do NOTTTTTT want to miss my performance – Sunday August 28 at 8p on @MTV.”
Along with securing the gong, she will also take to the stage at the award show on 28 August for the first time since 2018, along with other named performers Anitta, J Balvin, Marshmello x Khalid and Panic! At The Disco.

Madonna – who was given her 69th VMA nod for ‘Madame X’ – became the first artist to be nominated in five decades.
Fans can vote for their favourite acts in the 22 gender-neutral categories up until 19 August.
The star-studded ceremony takes place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, and will be simulcast on The CW, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, Pop, TVLand and VH1.

The Queen of Pop “worships” the Grammy and Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper and hailed his latest LP ‘Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers’ “mind-bogglingly brilliant”.
Appearing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, she spilled: “There’s one artist that I worship more than anything in life and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar.
“His new record is history-making. Mind-bogglingly brilliant. It’s insane.”
The ‘Lucky Star’ hitmaker is currently promoting her 50-song remix album, ‘Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones’.
The 63-year-old pop culture icon made history when she topped the Billboard Dance Club chart for the 50th time with the release of ‘Girl Gone Wild’ back in 2020, and she has celebrated the milestone with the career-spanning compilation.
The epic anthology will be released on streaming services and as a 3-CD and a 6-LP edition on August 19, but an abridged 16-track version of the collection simply titled ‘Finally Enough Love’ is out now.
The ‘Vogue’ hitmaker has included her favourite remixes of classic tracks such as ‘Like a Prayer’ and ‘Express Yourself’ but it also boasts rare and unreleased versions of hits such as ‘Ray of Light’ and ‘Everybody.’
All tracks have been remastered and the album revisits classic anthems such as ‘Material Girl’, ‘Beautiful Stranger’ and ‘Hollywood’.
What’s more, a newly-digitised version of her iconic 2003 Britney Spears duet ‘Me Against the Music’ and an exclusive version of her 2012 hit ‘Bitch I’m Madonna’ with rapper Nicki Minaj are included.
The release of the 220-minute album marks the first in what has been described as a multi-year-reissue initiative with music giants Warner, so fans can expect more to come from the music legend.

OHMYGOSSIP — The 1975 will co-headline Reading and Leeds with Halsey – after Rage Against The Machine pulled out.
The ‘Killing In The Name Of’ rockers were forced to cancel their UK and European shows this summer, including the world-famous festival, due to frontman Zack De La Rocha suffering an injury.
Matty Healy and co – who release their new album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ on October 14 – will now top the bill with ’11 Minutes’ hitmaker Halsey at Leeds on Friday, August 26, and Sunday, August 28 at Reading.
It will be the first chance for fans to see the ‘Somebody Else’ group perform in the UK since 2019, when they last headlined Reading and Leeds.
Frontman Matty, 33, previously said the reason he started a band was to headline the legendary festival one day.
He said: “The reason we’re doing it is I need to headline Reading and Leeds festival, because we went there as fans when we were kids.
“Every time I [play] it, it’s like I might as well have just been there in the pit, jumped over the barrier and grabbed the mic.
“That’s how I feel at that festival. It’s sick. We went to Leeds like 10 times when we were kids.”
In a statement regarding the postponement of their shows, RATM announced: “It is with great disappointment that we announce this cancellation.
Rage Against The Machine will be finishing their run at Madison Square Garden on August 11, 12 and 14 and then Zack must return home for rest and rehabilitation.
“The flights, travel time and rigorous schedule in the UK and Europe are simply too much of a risk for a complete recovery.
“We are so sorry to all of our fans who have waited years to see us and hope to Rage again soon. Please contact your point of purchase for refunds to any headline shows. Brad, Tim, Tom and Zack.”

The ‘Foundations’ hitmaker has returned to her UK garage and piano roots on her latest tune, ‘Wasteman’, and she got cockney geezer Danny – who starred as The Vic pub landlord Mick Carter on the iconic British soap ‘EastEnders – to star in the promo with his 15-year-old girl.
The 45-year-old actor walks the streets of London as he endeavours to return a lost phone in the nostalgic short.
Speaking of the “agony-aunt” single, Kate said: “‘Wasteman’ is about owning your power and being in a confident enough place to call someone out for their bad behaviour in a toxic relationship. It’s realising you deserve better. It’s the moment you recognise yourself again and see yourself smile after years of fighting for respect in a relationship. You learn over the years that the most important respect comes from yourself and that you can choose who you have in your life. Basically if they ain’t treating you right and your friends are sick of telling you they’re not worth it, dump them. It’s giving London sass with a throwback to my UK garage and piano roots #nomorewastemen.”
‘Wasteman’ is taken from the 35-year-old star’s upcoming fifth studio album, due for release in 2023.
The new record will be released 15 years after the ‘GLOW’ star took the music world by storm with her seminal 2007 LP ‘Made Of Bricks’.
A press release notes that: “Kate is busy hatching plans on how to celebrate the anniversary of its release”
It will also feature the previously released singles ‘Misery’, ‘Horsie’ and ‘Imperfect’.
The ‘Mouthwash’ hitmaker was just 17 when she signed a record deal with Polydor, and scored a number one album with debut record ‘Made of Bricks’.
She previously said her meteoric rise to fame at such a young age left her without a support system, as she slammed those around her at the time for not being “concerned about [her] health in any way”.
She said: “Artists often have mental health issues. And their lifestyles are unstable because of all the travelling and the media commentary on their lives. Now I’m like: ‘How were all these 40-year-old men hanging out with me and happy to profit from me and not concerned about my health in any way?'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion has released her new album, ‘Traumazine’, amid her record label legal drama.
The ‘Sweetest Pie’ hitmaker has shared the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Good News’ and the 2021 compilation LP ‘Something For Thee Hotties’.
The 18-song collection includes her Dua Lipa smash hit ‘Sweetest Pie’ and Future-featuring ‘Pressurelicious’, plus songs with Jhené Aiko, Rico Nasty and more.
And Megan has declared herself “almost out” of her contract with 1501 Certified Entertainment as she claimed this is the final album she will release on the label.
She told her fans – nicknamed Hotties – on Twitter before her latest record’s release: “We almost out.
Y’all know I always have problems with dropping my music under this label.
“[A]ll these games and having to go to court just to put out my art has been so stressful.”
She added: Thank you hotties for rocking with me through the bull**** WE ALMOST OUT LETS STAY FOCUSED AND RUN THIS LAST ONE UP. (sic)”
The 27-year-old star was countersued by 1501 over ‘Something for Thee Hotties’.
The ‘WAP’ hitmaker – whose real name is Megan Pete – filed a lawsuit against 1501 Certified Entertainment in February, “seeking a declaration that her album, ‘Something for Thee Hotties’ constituted an ‘Album’ as defined in the parties’ recording agreement.”
The record in question was released on October 29, 2021.
She claimed she was told on January 5, that the record was not classed as an album under her recording contract.
Her lawyers said in the filing: “1501’s new position, taken months after the album’s release, is clearly a ruse in an effort to try to take further advantage of Pete, at great expense and not in good faith.”
However, 1501 disagreed and filed a fresh lawsuit claiming the release was “made up of 21 recordings and includes spoken interlude recordings on which MTS does not appear as well as several previously-released recordings.”
They argued that the ‘Savage’ hitmaker was only featured on the whole release for less than 30 minutes and that her contract with them includes a clause which states that for it to constitute an album it “must include at least 12 new master recordings of her studio performances of previously unreleased musical compositions.”
However, Megan’s side insisted she was only told that it would have to be 45-minutes long.
She took to Twitter to call out the label for allegedly telling her she doesn’t make enough money for them one minute and wanting to make more money from her the next.
She penned: “First the man over my label said I don’t make him any money … now he counter suing trying to keep me on his label because he wants to make more money lol if I ain’t making you no money why not just drop me? (sic)”
In 2020, Megan accused the label of blocking the release of her new music.
The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper explained that she tried to negotiate aspects of her contract with 1501 after signing a deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management – who enlightened her to some of the clauses in the deal.
And she insisted she is “not a greedy person” and doesn’t like “confrontation”.
Megan said at the time: “I’m not a greedy person. I’m not a person that likes confrontation. I’m nice and I’m real family-oriented.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dave Mustaine wasn’t going to let cancer impact his guitar playing after a doctor told him he would lose “80 per cent use of his arm” to a previous hand injury.
In 2002, the Megadeth rocker suffered nerve damage after falling asleep with his left arm over the back of a chair, and one doctor told him he would never be able to play his beloved instrument again.
Not willing to give up hope, Mustaine sought a second opinion and started on a course of shock therapy, and has continued to play ever since.
The 60-year-old musician was diagnosed with throat cancer in the summer of 2019 – but was declared “100 per cent cancer-free” in October of that year.
And although he still has some “nerve damage” and his arm makes a clicking noise, Mustaine hasn’t let the injury he sustained two decades ago or his cancer stop him from axe-slaying.
Speaking to the latest issue of Guitar World magazine, Mustaine said: “I had to wear these crazy contraptions, and there’s still a little bit of damage to the arm.
“But having 80 per cent use of my arm and never playing again versus shredding my a** off and having a little clicking sound … Yeah, it’s a good thing I started with a piece-of-s*** car.
“I’m used to all kinds of clicks and cracks when I drive.
“So, having made it through that, I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to let cancer affect the way I played.”
Dave also insisted he’s never been afraid of dying, even after he died briefly when he overdosed on Valium in 1993.
He said: “I never thought I was going to die because I had already died once before.
“And even though I knew I was really sick, I wasn’t scared because I wasn’t afraid of dying.
“I was ready [just in case I didn’t make it].
“It’s very comforting when you get to that place in your life where you’re so happy and you’re so full of love that you’re ready.
“You’ve made peace with everything and everyone.
And that if your time is now – today – it’s okay.
“If that happened, I would have peace with that and be ready to go.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson has finished work on his second solo album.
The former One Direction singer has wrapped up ‘Faith In The Future’ and the record is set to be released on November 11, with the lead single slated to come out in the next few weeks.
Louis, 30, worked on the album during lockdown and was still busy in the studio while on his world tour.
Despite the problems created by COVID-19, the singer revealed that he found the recording process a lot more enjoyable than working on his debut effort ‘Walls’.
Louis is quoted by The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column as saying: “I’ve enjoyed the process 20 times more than the first album.
“There was just so many different opinions on the first album and me trying to find my feet coming out of a band the size of One Direction, so there was just so much going on in my head.”
Louis recently branded One Direction’s debut album ‘Up All Night’ as “s***” as he reflected on the 12 years since he, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne were put together on UK talent show ‘The X Factor’.
Speaking on the ‘Smallzy’s Surgery’ podcast, he said: “Twelve years ago today the band got formed, but the first album was s*** any way.”
Louis confessed that he feels pressure to make ‘Faith In The Future’ a success so he can live up to the popularity of the boyband, who went on hiatus back in 2016.
He said: “There’s still pressure obviously for me to deliver a good record . . . and me trying to find my feet coming out of a band as big as One Direction.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kim Wilde wants Harry Styles to headline Glastonbury.
The 61-year-old singer thinks the former One Direction star is “very cute” but also has the talent and personality to top the bill on the world-famous music festival’s Pyramid Stage next year.
Harry had previously been rumoured to headline the Worthy Farm extravaganza this June, but Sir Paul McCartney, Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar were given the honour.
Speaking to Best UK, the 80s pop star said of the ‘Golden’ singer: “Well I do think he’s very cute. I have to stay.
“He’s like a breath of fresh air. I love his voice; I love his fashion style.
“So yes, I have a wee crush on Harry. He should play Glastonbury next year.”
The ‘Kids In America’ hitmaker confessed in a previous issue of the magazine that she fancies the 28-year-old singer – who is dating another Wilde, actress-and-filmmaker Olivia Wilde, 38.
Asked who her celebrity crush is, Kim said: “Don’t laugh … Harry Styles!
“If he walked into my house, I think I would blush.”
Kim also recalled falling “passionately in love” with the late David Bowie when she supported him on tour, though she knew she wouldn’t “get a look in”.
She said: “I fell passionately in love with Bowie – but he was in love with his wife-to-be at the time, Iman – I didn’t get a look in.
“I loved him from afar.
“As soon as I saw him, I thought, ‘My God, you are the most incredible person.’
“How could you not love David Bowie?!”
