Blur’s Dave Rowntree wants to attend Britpop rivals Oasis’ reunion tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Blur’s Dave Rowntree would “definitely go and see” old Britpop rivals Oasis on their reunion tour.
Despite the two groups’ intense rivalry in the mid-1990s, which saw them trade insults and fight each other in the charts, the 60-year-old drummer insists he would jump at the chance to see former enemies Noel and Liam Gallagher back onstage next year.
He told the BBC: “Blur and Oasis combined changed what the pop music genre meant, and that doesn’t happen very often.”
Dave, who is also a politician, noted how their clashes were heightened by the “North-South” divide in the UK.
He said: “So people wanting to see England as a North-South divided country could lay that on there, people that wanted to view it in terms of class could do that.”
Blur’s frontman Damon Albarn – who predicted Oasis would get back together – previously admitted to getting “caught up” in the hype.
The ‘Parklife’ hitmaker also conceded that he couldn’t beat Noel “in a war of words”.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “We were young and we let ourselves get caught up in it. And the competitiveness was ridiculous for a while, but, you know, I was never gonna beat Noel in a war of words.”
Whilst there is no animosity between Blur and Oasis these days, Noel once infamously wished that bassist Alex James and Damon would “catch AIDS and die” at the height of their chart battle.
Years later, the ‘Supersonic’ hitmaker teamed up with Damon to perform backing vocals on his band Gorillaz’ track ‘We Got the Power’ in 2017, and Noel admitted his teenage self would have been decidedly unimpressed.
He told Big Issue magazine:” What would my younger self think of me working with Damon Albarn?
“It would depend entirely on what side of the bed I got out of on that day.
“If you caught me on a good day I’d be like, yeah, I could see that happening.
“On a bad day, I’d f****** knife myself in the b*******.”

Charli XCX declares the end of Brat Summer as fans await her next move

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX has bid farewell to “Brat Summer”.
The ‘Apple’ hitmaker has shared a roundup of TikTok videos from the viral pop culture phenomenon she created with her latest LP ‘Brat’, which saw the party persona and the sickly green colour used on her album cover takeover social media, fashion and even the US presidential election.
However, the hyperpop star has taken to social media to declare the end of an era.
She captioned the clips on Instagram: “Goodbye forever brat summer.”
Describing a Brat girl, Charli had said: “That girl who is a little messy and likes to party and maybe says some dumb things sometimes. Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown.
“But kind of like parties through it, is very honest, very blunt. A little bit volatile. Like does dumb things. But it’s Brat. You’re Brat. That’s Brat.”
‘Uncut Gems’ actress Julia Fox was part of the inspiration for ‘Brat’.
Charli – who made headlines for branding US Vice President runner Kamala Harris a “brat” as a compliment – is hotly tipped to win the Mercury Prize with ‘Brat’ on Thursday (05.09.24).
In a record high for the award nominations, eight of the 12 shortlisted artists are women or female-fronted bands, including Corinne Bailey Rae, Cat Burns, CMAT, The Last Dinner Party, and Nia Archives.
Last year, the Mercury Prize was won for the first time by a jazz act, with Ezra Collective taking the gong for their second release, ‘What I’m Meant to Be’.

David Gilmour receives ‘way too much deference’ because of Pink Floyd past

OHMYGOSSIP — David Gilmour thinks people show him “way too much deference”.
The former Pink Floyd rocker admitted the “dizzying heights” he has experienced in his career over the years has left many of his collaborators too scared to give him frank and honest feedback because they feel they need to give him unyielding respect.
He told The Sun newspaper: “After you achieve these dizzying heights, people tend to show you way too much deference,” he admits. “It becomes hard to retrieve the setup you had when you were young.
“In the earlier stages of Pink Floyd, we could be as rude and insulting to each other about our personalities and our music as we wanted — and yet everything would be all right in the end.
“No one ever stomped off permanently — until that bloke [Roger Waters] did…
“I was thrust into being band leader of Pink Floyd and, later, into being a solo artist. But I feel a more collaborative approach is better for me.”
On his new album, ‘Luck and Strange’, the 76-year-old star enlisted the services of Charlie Andrew, who is best known for his work with Alt-J and Marika Hackman, on the suggestion of his wife Polly Samson – who he writes his lyrics with – and appreciated the fact the producer had a “total lack of knowledge” about Pink Floyd.
David said: “I looked at all the people I knew but I’d got to a point in life where I wanted to move things forward in a different way…
“I made contact with Charlie and he came down to the house. He had total lack of knowledge of Pink Floyd and the side of the music industry that I come from.”
And when they were in the studio, David recalled: “Charlie was refreshingly blunt with some of his opinions. He was brilliant’’.
The ‘Wish You Were Here’ hitmaker heaped praise on his “lovely wife” and collaborator Polly.
He said: “As a married couple, we discuss our fears and our joys. She knows my preoccupations.
“It’s a great skill that she can inhabit my head.
“But her input is not limited to the lyrics. She has solid opinions on every aspect of what we do and is not scared to voice them.”

Noel and Liam Gallagher offered ‘millions’ film reunion documentary

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel and Liam Gallagher could be set to rake in even more millions – as they are said to have been offered big bucks to make a film out of their reunion.
The siblings ended their 15-year feud to reunite and announce the ‘Oasis Live ’25’ tour, which kicks off at the Cardiff Principality Stadium on July 4, and now it’s been revealed the likes of Apple, Netflix and Prime Video are in a fierce bidding war to try and get the frontman and guitarist to allow cameras to document their hotly anticipated return.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Noel and Liam’s teams have been inundated with offers from production companies, who are desperate to secure the rights to a documentary.
“A dedicated team over at Apple have met to discuss the bid they are putting forward, and companies who work with Netflix and Prime Video are doing the same.
“The Oasis reunion is the biggest music story of recent times and to have access to Noel and Liam would be a huge coup.
“To see the brothers coming together again and putting their bitter split behind them would make for sensational viewing.
“The offers being tabled run into their millions.
“They know the price has to be right to get Noel and Liam to do it.
“Their team is collating the offers and will go through them in due course.
“Whether Noel and Liam would agree to filming their comeback is another thing.
“They don’t need it and they’re focused on the music.
“But a warts-and-all documentary lifting the lid on their return would go down in history.”
Noel and Liam – who had been estranged ever since a backstage bust-up ended the Britpop group in 2009 – separately contributed to the 2016 documentary film ‘Oasis: Supersonic’ in 2016 by Mat Whitecross, which made $1.5 million (£1.3 million) at the box office.
Meanwhile, it was recently suggested that the tour could be worth around £400 million and could dwarf Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras World Tour’.

A$AP Rocky drops leaked tune Tailor Swif

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky has released his latest single, ‘Tailor Swif’, after the track leaked online.
The rapper recently announced that his eagerly awaited LP ‘Don’t Be Dumb’ will be delayed due to “leaks and sample clearances”, but that hasn’t stopped him dropping the new tune, which is a reference to pop superstar Taylor Swift but has no lyrics about her.
He posted to X: “SINCE U DUMMIES LEAKED IT ALREADY.”
The LP was due to be released on August 30, but there have been a few setbacks, forcing the record to be pushed back until autumn.
After Billboard reported the release date change, Rocky wrote on X: “LEAKS AND SAMPLE CLEARANCES ARE DISRUPTING THE ALBUM. ITS BEEN 6 YEARS AND I WANNA MAKE THE BEST ALBUM EVER. IM SORRY FOR THE WAIT. (sic)”
In his interview with the magazine, the 35-year-old star – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – revealed the legendary filmmaker Tim Burton has heard the record and is an unlikely fan.
He spilled: “I sat and I played the album for Tim Burton, and he was f****** with it heavy, he was rocking his head and he’s like, ‘Wow! I didn’t know you made that kind of music!’”
The two were in contact as the ‘Praise The Lord’ hitmaker wanted the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ director to design the artwork for the LP, but unfortunately, they couldn’t make it happen.
However, Danny Elfman, the famed composer who has collaborated regularly with Burton, did work on some of the music.
It’s a highly collaborative effort, with guests expected to include Tyler, The Creator, Metro Boomin, Madlib, Pharrell Williams, Swedish House Mafia, and Mike Dean.
Rocky’s last studio album was 2018’s ‘Testing’.

ABBA warn trump to stop using their music at his rallies

OHMYGOSSIP — ABBA are the latest music stars to request Donald Trump stop using their songs at his rallies.
After Foo Fighters, Celine Dion and Beyonce warned the former president about playing their music without prior permission, the Swedish pop icons and their labels have vented their frustration after he played ‘The Winner Takes It All’ and ‘Money, Money, Money’ at his Minnesota rally in July.
A spokesperson for the ‘Eurovision’ legends told the Stockholm outlet Svenska Dagbladet: “We, together with the members of [ABBA], have discovered that videos have been released where ABBA’s music has been used at Trump’s events and have requested that such use be immediately taken down and removed.”
They added: “Universal Music Publishing AB and Polar Music International AB have not received any request, so no permission or license has been granted to Trump.”
Trump’s representative Steven Cheung told Fox News Digital: “The campaign had a license to play ABBA music through our agreement with BMI [Broadcast Music, Inc.] and ASCAP [American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers].”
Dave Grohl and co were left disgruntled after Trump played ‘My Hero’ to introduce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to his Arizona rally last week.
A spokesperson for the US rockers said: “Foo Fighters were not asked permission and if they were, they would have not granted it.”
They also stated that royalties from the usage of the song by Trump would be donated to Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz for their bid to take charge of The White House.
Celine recently condemned Trump’s use of her ‘Titanic’ theme song ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at his Montana rally.
The Canadian singer called out the “unauthorised usage” of the video, musical performance, and “likeness” of herself that was used as part of his campaign as he continues to battle it out with Harris to be re-elected.
A statement on her official social media channels read: “Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing “My Heart Will Go On” at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana.
“In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use.
“…And really, THAT song? (sic)”

‘You Really Got Me’: The Kinks’ Dave Davies horrified by AI cover of the band

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kinks’ Dave Davies has blasted an AI cover of the band.
Fortunately for him, the YouTube clip of the song claiming to be a “new original song” called ‘Hop Skip Jump!’ has since been deleted.
Reacting to the video that was uploaded back in January, the group’s horrified guitarist posted to X: “What the f** is this??? This Kinks AI cover is like horror show sounds f**in horrible.”
‘Star Wars’ actor Mark Hamill commented to say it had been taken down.
He wrote: “You will be happy to know when I clicked on this it said “video unavailable”. (Still curious what The Kinks AI would sound like though).”
The 77-year-old musician recently took to his X account to share his shock that his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame trophy up for sale on eBay “without his consent”.
The marble plaque from the ‘You Really Got Me’ group’s 1990 induction was listed on the re-sale site for $12,500 (£9,860).
Dave – who was joined by brother Ray, Pete Quaife and Mick Avory in the influential sixties group – insisted he had no idea how he lost the award but believes it could have been at the time of his stroke in 2004, as he was “incapacitated”.
He began a series of updates: “Regarding ebay listing for my RRHOF award statue has been made without my consent. I lost track of my award years ago and didn’t know where it was. If the person bought it at a storage unit it may have been and the time of my 2004 stroke when I was incapacitated in UK … I’m grateful to have made a full record from my stroke but it’s a shame that I wasn’t contacted. I’m assuming this is what happened. (sic)”
Dave contacted the seller and hoped to come to an agreement, so he didn’t have to fork out $12,000 to get his prize back.
He added: “We’ve written to the seller and are waiting to hear back. I don’t want to have to pay 12 grand to get my own award back. But maybe we can work something out more reasonable.”
Asked how it got in someone else’s hands, he replied: “I don’t know except that it got lost when I was taken ill from my stroke decades ago.”
The owner of Colony Records in New York was the seller and said he would come to an agreement with Dave.
He wrote: “follow me and shoot me a message on X we will work it out (sic)”
And it seems they did as the listing was removed.

James Bay drops new song penned with Brandon Flowers

OHMYGOSSIP — James Bay gained “unbelievable experience and insight” writing his new song with Brandon Flowers.
The ‘Hold Back The River’ hitmaker is hoping he gets to work again with The Killers frontman after the pair teamed up on his latest tune, ‘Easy Distraction’, out now.
James said: “The song is about realising too late that someone means so much to you, but you still want to show them and let them know.
“It’s exploring how, in the face of adversity we can still reach out, we can still connect.”
On how he came to work with the ‘Somebody Told Me’ hitmaker, he added: “I found out from a mutual friend that Brandon was interested in writing with newer artists, so I jumped at the chance and went to work with him in Park City, Utah over in America.
“It was an unbelievable experience and insight into writing with one of my heroes. I hope we get to do more!”
The song has been in the works for a few years now, as back in 2020, the ‘Wild Love’ hitmaker revealed he’d been in the studio with ‘Mr. Brightside’ rocker.
He told NME at the time: “[Flowers] invited me into the studio, and we wrote and demoed a song.
“The insight I got from working with him was incredible, and to be in his presence watching him work and write music the way he does is something I’ll never forget. He is a consummate pro and deserves the legendary status he already has.
“I brought a melody to our session, and he said, ‘F***, it’s like a straight-up Beatles melody right there’. I was like ‘OK, so Brandon Flowers is comparing a melody I wrote to The Beatles’ – it was surreal! It was a very cool moment.”
The track is taken from James’ upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Changes All The Time’.
‘Easy Distraction’ follows the lead single, ‘Up All Night’, featuring Noah Kahan and The Lumineers.

Rita Ora is teaming up with Meghan Trainor for her new album

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora will collaborate with Meghan Trainor on her next album.
The ‘Ask and You Shall Receive’ hitmaker is thought to be travelling to Los Angeles next month so she can go into the studio with the ‘All About That Bass’ singer as she works on her fourth studio record.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Rita and Meghan have been huge fans of each other for years.
“They were meant to go into the studio earlier this year. Now Rita is flying over to the US to work on her fourth album and she has rearranged time with Meg.”
Meanwhile, Rita recently revealed that she likes to indulge in a “big lunch” and a shot of tequila before heading on stage.
The 33-year-old star, who performed at Manchester Pride last weekend, told The Sun: “I like a good, big lunch to keep my energy up before a show. It’s very important for me.
“I would love to have a chippy if I have time. And for me, it’s gravy all the way.
“And I love a tequila soda or vodka soda with lime.”
Rita also described how she always felt a sense of belonging in the gay community as she recalled falling “in love” with dance music when she went clubbing on the scene.
The ‘Let You Love Me’ singer said: “I would always go to the underground bars and the underground clubs and that is where I fell in love with dance music and make-up melting off my face.
“I had not got a clue what was going to happen in my career.
“I fell in love with dance music by being accepted in the gay raves in the clubs in the underground scene.
“Growing up I felt the acceptance, through music, of being in the community.”

Oasis add three extra dates to reunion tour following ‘unprecedented demand’ for tickets

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis have added three extra dates to their reunion tour.
The ‘Wonderwall’ band confirmed that they were getting back together earlier this week after 15 years of feuding between siblings Noel and Liam Gallagher and have now scheduled additional concerts in the UK due to “unprecedented demand” for tickets following registration for a pre-sale ballot.
The rockers said: “Due to unprecedented demand, three new UK dates will be added to Oasis Live ’25. Heaton Park – July 16th Wembley – July 30th Edinburgh – August 12th. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, 31st August at 9am BST.”
The additional gigs mean that the Britpop icons will play five shows at Wembley, five in their home city of Manchester and three in the Scottish capital.
Meanwhile, Oasis guitarist Gem Archer is expected to join the Gallagher brothers on the tour next year – along with Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs – having featured in both Liam and Noel’s post-Oasis work as a member of Beady Eye and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds respectively.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “None of the band is 100 per cent confirmed yet, but Gem is looking very likely along with Bonehead. The key is getting people who both brothers get on with and also respect and ideally of course they would also have been in the band before too.
“Gem ticks all those boxes and he also contributed to the writing of some Oasis songs. He is an obvious target and it would be a huge shock if he was not on the stage for the UK tour.
“He knows the songs, he knows the band inside out and he has been on tour with the Gallaghers before and so he knows what he would be signing up for.”

Morrissey says Johnny Marr ‘ignored’ a ‘lucrative’ offer for Smiths reunion

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey says Johnny Marr “ignored” a “lucrative” offer for The Smiths to reform in 2025.
The 65-year-old former frontman of the iconic Manchester group, who released their debut album in 1984, spoke out about the missed chance for a reunion in the wake of news Oasis are staging a comeback tour next year.
He said in a statement on the Morrissey Central website amid questions from fans on whether the band might reunite like Oasis he gave a “yes” to an offer made by the AEG Entertainment Group to tour worldwide as The Smiths in 2025.
Writing in the third person, the singer said guitarist Johnny, 60, “ignored the offer”, adding: “In June 2024 AEG Entertainment Group made a lucrative offer to both Morrissey and Marr to tour worldwide as ‘The Smiths’ throughout 2025.
“Morrissey said Yes to the offer; Marr ignored the offer. Morrissey undertakes a largely sold out tour of the USA in November. Marr continues to tour as a special guest to New Order.”
After putting out much-loved albums ‘The Smiths’ and ‘Meat is Murder’ – and landing three Top 10 hits – Morrissey and Co split in 1987 after only five years together.
Johnny staged an emotional homecoming gig in his native Manchester on Saturday (24.08.24) at Wythenshawe Park ahead of a set from New Order.
He told fans how much the show meant to him as it was in the park where he while away his youth minutes from his family home.
Noel and Liam Gallagher said on Thursday (29.08.24) they were adding three extra concert dates in the UK for their 2025 reunion tour due to “unprecedented demand” following registration for a ticket pre-sale.

Liam Gallagher teases Oasis comeback at Reading Festival

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher teased Oasis’ potential reunion during his performance at Reading Festival on Sunday (25.08.24).
The 51-year-old star played Oasis‘ debut album, ‘Definitely Maybe’, in full at the festival, while he also gave a shoutout to his brother Noel during the gig.
Before singing ‘Half The World Away’, Liam told the crowd: “I wanna dedicate this song to Noel Gallagher.”
‘Definitely Maybe’ was released on August 29, 1994, and featured a host of hit singles, including ‘Supersonic’, ‘Shakermaker’, and ‘Live Forever’.
The record also became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history at the time.
Oasis split in 2009, following a falling out between Liam and his older brother Noel Gallagher – but the duo are reported to have reunited in recent weeks, and Liam teased a mysterious date towards the end of his set at Reading, when “27.08.24” appeared on a screen behind him.
The same date also appeared on Liam and Noel’s X accounts, and earlier in the day, the singer dropped another hint about Oasis’ potential comeback.
Liam said on X: “I never did like that word FORMER (sic)”
Oasis split in acrimonious circumstances 15 years ago, when Noel claimed that he couldn’t work with his brother “a day longer”.
Noel said in a statement at the time: “It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
Noel also claimed that he was left with “no other option”.
He said: “The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.”

Will.i.am launches AI-led RAiDiO.FYI

OHMYGOSSIP — Will.i.am is launching an AI-influenced interactive radio platform.
The 49-year-old rap star – who is best known for his success with the Black Eyed Peas – has announced plans to launch RAiDiO.FYI, a new radio service that will feature AI presenters.
The company website explains: “How… Through the pulse of conventional Ai blended with the power of music…
“We are turning the airwaves into interactive blended media. It’s more than just tunes; it’s a new dimension of connection…
“RAiDiO.FYI is where Hits, insights, data, and dynamic dialogue leap directly from either into your speakers, crafting an audio experience tailor-made for you (sic)”
The website also explains the role that AI will play on the platform.
RAiDiO.FYI says: “Encounter Ai-driven hosts that do much more than chit chat and drop tracks; they curate the news, knowledge, and wisdom bites you crave and interact with in real time (sic)”
What’s more, it’s been suggested that RAiDiO.FYI will “reimagine radio the way the iPhone did for the telephone”.
Despite this, Will previously voiced his concerns over the influence of AI on the music business.
The rap star said on SiriusXM: “We all have voices, and everyone’s compromised because there are no rights or ownership to your facial math or your voice frequency.”
Will – who has invested in various tech products over the years – suggested that musicians could easily be undermined by AI technology.
He explained: “You’re getting a FaceTime or a Zoom call and because there’s no intelligence on the call, there’s nothing to authenticate an AI call or a person call.
“That’s the urgent thing, protecting our facial math. I am my face math. I don’t own that. I own the rights to ‘I Got A Feeling’, I own the rights to the songs I wrote, but I don’t own the rights to my face or my voice?”

Johnny Marr shuts down Smiths reunion as Oasis confirm comeback

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Marr has reminded fans of why a Smiths reunion is unlikely as fellow Mancunians Oasis prepare to reunite after 16 years.
The Britpop legends announced on Wednesday morning (27.08.24) that they are to embark on a 14-date stadium tour in July and August 2025 – including four dates at London’s Wembley Stadium and four homecoming concerts at Manchester’s Heaton Park – putting an end to the lengthy feud between siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher.
When the reunion news was teased by the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers, fans took to social media to suggest that other groups like The Smiths should reunite if Oasis can do it.
One X user wrote: “If Oasis can do it The Smiths can too (I’m delusional).”
Johnny responded by sharing a picture of former UKIP leader Nigel Farage to point out again that the group’s former frontman Morrissey’s controversial political views are the problem.
The singer was pro-Brexit and hailed Farage “a liberal educator” when it was confirmed that the UK would exit the EU.
In response, Johnny jokingly tweeted: “Nigel Farage on guitar.”
Morrissey courted controversy when he said the result of the EU Referendum in June was “magnificent”.
Johnny later addressed his comments and insisted he has nothing to do with his bandmate’s political opinions and that he doesn’t see the band – which was also comprised of Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce – making a comeback anytime soon.
He said: “I can only really speak for myself, I don’t feel like it’s necessary at all really.
“I really like moving forward. Myself and Andy (Rourke, bass player) play together when I’m over in New York … he plays a couple of songs with me and that’s always really nice, but that’s really as far as it needs to go I think.”
He also previously insisted Morrissey’s outbursts can’t taint the ‘This Charming Man’ hitmakers’ legacy because people know they’re nothing to do with the band.
He said: “It seems to be upsetting people more than it’s actually upsetting me.
“Me and Morrissey were always very different people. It’s OK. You can’t change history.
“The Smiths stood for the marginalised, and the disenfranchised, whether that was because of your sexuality or your lifestyle or your sensibility, or where you were born, or your race.
“Everybody knows The Smiths were never about hate. I don’t think of The Smiths any differently.
“Anything else, it’s not The Smiths, it’s something else. And that hasn’t been anything to do with me for 30 years.”

Oasis reuniting for first UK and Ireland tour in 16 years

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis have announced their first UK and Ireland tour in 16 years.
The ‘Don’t Back In Anger’ Britpop legends split in 2009 after Liam and Noel Gallagher fell out on tour, but now the brothers have posed for their first photograph together in well over a decade to confirm their reunion shows.
The live run will kick off on July 4 with back to back nights at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium before four hometown shows at Heaton Park in Manchester.
The group will then move onto Wembley Stadium in London, and two nights at Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium before bringing the tour to an end at Dublin’s Croke Park.
The band said in a statement: “The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.”
Tickets for the UK dates go on sale from 8am on Saturday, August 31st on Seetickets, Ticketmaster and Gigsandtour.com, with Dublin tickets available an hour earlier via Ticketmaster.
There had been speculation and hopes for a reunion for years, but things picked up steam over the last week, particularly after Liam teased fans during his Reading Festival performance on Sunday (25.08.24).

‘Definitely Maybe’ was released on August 29, 1994, and featured a host of hit singles, including ‘Supersonic’, ‘Shakermaker’, and ‘Live Forever’.

Megadeth’s Marty Friedman snubbed by KISS for being ‘too short’

OHMYGOSSIP — Marty Friedman was rejected by KISS for being “too short”.
The former Megadeth guitarist – who spent a decade with the iconic heavy metal group between 1990 and 2000 – was once offered the chance to audition for the ‘Crazy Crazy Nights’ rockers, but the opportunity was taken away almost immediately.
Speaking to ‘Sam Ash Music’, Marty was asked if there was any KISS song he would like to have played on, and recalled: “I would’ve wanted to be on any KISS song.
“I’ll give you a quick story about that – when they were changing guitar players a long time ago, I got a call from KISS’ people.
“They say like ‘Do you think you’d be interested in auditioning for KISS?’ I’m like ‘Tell me when and were’.
“They came back and were like ‘We’ve got a couple of questions for you. You don’t have any facial hair, do you?’ No. ‘You got long hair right?’ Right. ‘You’re skinny right?’ Right.
“‘And you’re over 6 feet tall?’ and I’m like ‘What? I’m 5’ 7” but I’ll have an operation, I’ll do something.’
“And they were like “‘I’m sorry, it’s not going to work out.’ I was so bummed.”
Marty was disappointed to miss out on a chance to play alonogside the ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ hitmakers, who completed their final tour last year with founding members Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons still part of the lineup.
However, he admitted he understood the decision to pass on him due to his height, given how important the band’s image.
He added: “I get why they did it. KISS is meticulous about their image, and having a height difference wouldn’t fit the band’s aesthetic.”
Earlier this year, KISS made a deal with Pophouse – the Swedish company behind ABBA’s ‘Voyage’ show – for its publishing, recording royalties and trademarks, including the group’s logo and makeup design, with plans for an avatar-led live show.
CEO Per Sundin said: “We want to keep to the legacy. We want to extend it and amplify it for new generations.”
