OHMYGOSSIP — YUNGBLUD has The Cure’s Robert Smith to thank for wearing eyeliner.
The ‘I Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’ rocker has come full-circle as Robert, 63, approved a sample of the band’s 1985 hit ‘Close to Me’ on YUNGBLUD’s new track ‘Tissues’ from his upcoming self-titled LP.
And the 25-year-old star – whose real name is Dom Harrison – has shared how The Cure, particularly eyeliner-wearing frontman Robert, inspired him to “express” himself without a “filter”.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, he said: “I put on eyeliner because of Robert Smith. They represented and personified my happy and my sadness all at the same time. As a 15-year-old kid in the north of England in the rain made me feel like I could express myself without a filter, without conforming. They taught me conforming was death. When I would put on The Cure, I’d celebrate the idea that nobody wanted to talk to me.”
The pair met at the NME Awards in 2019 after YUNGBLUD’s mother started chatting to the goth icon.
He recalled: “About two hours into the awards show, I’d lost my mother and I turn around and she’s talking to Robert Smith and I’m like, ‘NOOOO!’
So, I walk over and I’m like, ‘Alright mum, hello Robert, honoured to meet ya,’ and he was like ‘I love what you’re doing…'”
YUNGBLUD ended up exchanging emails with the ‘Lovecats’ hitmaker, and he was more than happy to let him use the song.
He added: “And then I got his email through some connection, and then I emailed and was like, ‘Hello Robert Smith of The Cure… ‘Close To Me’ — probably the most iconic British beat of all time. May I use it in the song?’ And I was like I don’t know what I’m gonna do if he says no. But he got back in a couple days. He types in all caps, Robert. He was like, ‘HELLO DOM, YOU CAN USE IT ALL GOOD HERE, LOVE ROBERT.’ Called my boys up and was like, ‘I’ve sampled ‘Close To Me’ they’ve let me use it.’ It was like a mosh pit – my boys in the North were like, ‘YOOOOOO!'”

OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie is set to receive a stone on London’s Music Walk of Fame in Camden.
The late ‘Starman’ hitmaker – who died following a secret battle with cancer in 2016 aged 69 – will be honoured with the tribute on September 15 at Camden Town Tube station.
The music legend’s stone joins those for The Who, Soul II Soul, Madness, and late icon Amy Winehouse.
Lee Bennett, who launched the Music Walk of Fame in 2019 in north London, commented: “David Bowie is a global influence, one of the ultimate influencers, and sooner or later we had to have him on the Music Walk Of Fame.
“Our intention is for this to be the highest honour a music figure can receive in the UK and beyond, the unveiling of David’s stone ensures that legacy.
“We have huge plans for the future, but for now let’s celebrate one of the greats of music.”
Bowie’s collaborators and friends will attend the unveiling.
Bowie getting the London Music Walk of Fame treatment comes ahead of the release of Brett Morgen’s new immersive film about the ‘Let’s Dance’ hitmaker, ‘Moonage Daydream’, which is heading to Imax on September 16 and UK cinemas from September 23.
The unique movie is comprised of thousands of hours of rare performance footage of the trailblazing artist.
It’s been described as “an immersive cinematic experience”.
Bowie’s long-time producer, Tony Visconti, is on board.
The 78-year-old studio wizard first worked with Bowie on his 1968 single ‘In the Heat of the Morning’ / ‘London Bye Ta-Ta’, and their working partnership continued right up until the release of his farewell LP, ‘Blackstar’, which was released two days before Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016.
As are several members of the sound and design team from the blockbuster Freddie Mercury biopic, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, who were in charge of mixing.
The film is supported by the ‘Space Oddity’ star’s estate.
Helmer Morgen also directed the 2015 documentary ‘Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck’ about the late Nirvana frontman.
Bowie’s widow, Iman, previously insisted a fictional movie about her husband is off the cards.
She said: “It’s always a no.
“We always ask each other, ‘Would he do it?’ He wouldn’t.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Barlow has promised lots of Take That “stuff” is on the way.
The ‘Back For Good’ hitmakers – also comprising Mark Owen and Howard Donald – have been busy working on solo ventures this year, but the frontman recently revealed a new album and tour is on the way in 2023, and fans can expect lots more from their favourite trio.
Speaking on ‘The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’ on BBC Radio 2, he said: “So there’s a lot of Take That stuff coming up in the future. And just to answer your question properly, yes, we’re back together next year.
“Brand new music coming your way.”
The ‘Patience’ group have a musical film on the way in ‘Greatest Days’
The new album will be the first since 2017’s ‘Wonderland’, while there are also plans for a world tour.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column in June, he said: “We’ve kind of started already. We’ve learnt to work remotely because we live in different parts of the world.
“So I’ll send off a chorus and say, ‘Let me know what you think, lads’, then it will be back a few days later and it’s had a little more written on it.
“You’ll hear a single just before the summer next year and the album will be released around October. And the following year we’ve put the whole of it aside for a world tour. We haven’t done a world tour for years. So we will take this new record everywhere and there will be a few surprise places that we haven’t toured before.”
Mark is California-based and has been busy with his solo career, with his fifth solo album, ‘Land Of Dreams’, set for release on September 23.
Howard, meanwhile, has been DJ’ing and Gary’s latest ventures include launching his own brand of wine, Gary Barlow Organic Rose.
Gary insists the ‘Giants’ hitmakers have a lot left they want to achieve together yet, and he believes they will be around for “years” to come yet.
He said: “We’re feeling ambitious and ready for hard work. Music isn’t about repetition, so we always want to feel like we are moving forward and chasing new dreams.
“We’ve done a lot as Take That but we haven’t achieved everything we want to achieve. I believe we have years to go yet.”
As well as ‘Greatest Days’, former member Robbie Williams, 48, has his biopic coming out, parts of which Gary and his bandmates have seen.

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse have tried to be “more understandable” than “vague and strange” on their new album.
The ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ hitmakers’ latest LP, ‘Will of the People’, is inspired by recent events including the Black Lives Matter movement, the COVID-19 pandemic and the Capitol riots and frontman Matt Bellamy was keen to approach the topics in a clear way.
He told The Sun newspaper: “There was the Black Lives Matter riots and also the Capitol riots in support of Trump. During these periods, it felt like we were on the brink of civil war.
“We all know there is a need for some kind of systemic change. But at the same time, you don’t want that to be absolute chaos, and be taken over by an authoritarian kind of mentality.
“So how do we change something without it being a violent insurrection, or a civil war?
“I’m not saying I have the answer but this album is partly an expression of that…
“We’ve made an effort to be more understandable rather than be vague and strange.
“But simultaneously, the world has shifted in a very fast way in the last three years, where some of those thoughts correlate more. Dystopia and reality have converged and so this album is a bit more relevant to previous albums and how it fits into this era.”
The 44-year-old singer admitted watching Los Angeles change during the pandemic sent the group in a different direction to their previous album, ‘Simulation Theory’.
He explained: “Coming to the studio every day in Santa Monica and seeing how it changed from shopping streets to completely pin drop quiet, dead. I was still going in and you’d only see homeless people.
“All the shops were boarded up, and windows had been smashed in during the Black Lives Matter riots and there were militarised vehicles patrolling the streets during the riots. So the album was made looking out at all that was happening.
“It drew us into reality and out of the dystopian, fictional world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Cyrus has released a song inspired by the divorce of her parents.
The 22-year-old singer is the daughter of ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ hitmaker Billy Ray Cyrus, 61, and his former wife Tish, 55, – who filed for divorce in April 2022 after 28 years of marriage – and teamed up with Death Cab for Cutie star Benjamin Gibbard to pen the track ‘Every Beginning Ends.’
She said: “That was such a surreal experience. I’ve always been such a huge fan, so it was pretty daunting to get in the room with him, but once we got to work it all came very naturally. We talked about past relationships, failed relationships, our parents’ relationships and relationships that have lasted forever. He told me his dad has a saying: ‘You have to wake up and choose to love someone every day,’ and it sparked this conversational song about the twilight of a relationship and the reluctance to admit that something has run its course.
The GRAMMY Award nominee – who is the younger sister of pop superstar Miley Cyrus, 29, as well as Brandi, 35, Trace, 33, Braison, 28, and – explained that she could “relate” to her co-writer’s words and that the song gave her more “understanding” of her parents’ divorce.
She told ETOnline: “I relate to that in many ways, not only with me, but also just with my parents’ relationship. Writing about that gave me more understanding.”
Meanwhile, Billy Ray – who tied the knot with Tish back in 1993 and initially filed for divorce in 2010 while Tish filed for divorce in 2013 but the pair ultimately reconciled – insisted back in April 2022 after a third filing was announced that they will “always be a family” and the decision to separate was “not taken lightly.”
A representative said at the time: “We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents. We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important. With Love and Hope… Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Aitch is determined to become part of Manchester’s musical legacy.
The 22-year-old rap star feels proud of his Mancunian roots and he’s eager to leave a long-lasting impression on his city.
He said: “Ask anyone if they know Aitch, and if they say ‘Yes’, ask them where he’s from. They’ll all say Manchester.”
Aitch has emerged as one of the city’s new poster boys in recent years.
But the ‘Straight Rhymez’ hitmaker was recently angered when a local mural of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis was painted over to promote his new album.
Aitch – whose new record is called ‘Close to Home’ – told the BBC: “It’s annoying because I don’t have any control over it. I don’t decide where to put the billboards, they just turn up.
“As soon as we got wind of it, we told them to stop, take it all down and then got hold of the artist who originally done that Ian [mural]. We’re gonna get him to re-do it.”
Meanwhile, Aitch recently confessed that he’s still learning about himself.
The rap star also conceded that his dad is “more clearly a man” than he is.
He shared: “I’m waiting for the day where I actually do say, ‘I’m old now.’ It’s like, you think you know everything, you think you know yourself, and then a couple of years go by and you’re not even the same person anymore. I wonder when I’ll look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘This is just me now, forever.’
“I look like my dad but like, my dad is more clearly a man. You could call me a man but – do you know what I mean?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Marcus Mumford’s new album is all about “freedom” and “healing”.
The 35-year-old singer is set to release his new solo album, ‘(self-titled)’, next month, and Marcus has given fans an insight into what they can expect from the project.
Speaking about his approach, he shared: “I think it was important to start at the beginning of the story of making this record for me. The first song I wrote was a song called ‘Cannibal’, and that felt like the first song that had to go on the track listing, first song to come out as well. Then it was followed closely by ‘Grace’, which is the answer to it in my view, and songwriting-wise, it was the second song I wrote for the record. Pretty much going in chronological order.”
The Mumford and Sons star explained that ‘(self-titled)’ is “a record about freedom”.
Marcus also observed that the album is constantly evolving, beginning with “the hardest stuff”.
The singer – who is married to actress Carey Mulligan – told Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1: “What people hadn’t heard yet is where it gets to, which really it’s a record about freedom and it’s a record about healing. I think, certainly in my story, it’s important to face up to some of the gnarlier stuff first in order to get to that place of freedom and healing.
“In the way we’ve rolled out this record, it starts with some of the hardest stuff. If people can get through that, it’s worth the wait, I think, because we do get to a place where it is fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is “up for” making a surprise appearance at Reading and Leeds 2022.
The former Oasis star has confirmed that he’d love to perform at the twin festival, which is being held between August 26 and 29.
Liam made the confession after a fan tweeted: “Announce surprise act at leeds I beg you (sic)”
The 49-year-old singer then replied: “I’m all for it.”
The fan was unsurprisingly enthusiastic about the prospect.
They wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “Get it done then Rasta x (sic)”
Liam reaffirmed his ambition to play the festival in a separate conversation on Twitter.
Another fan said: “If you aren’t a surprise at reading fest I’ll go home fr (sic)”
And the ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker replied: “I know I’m up for it.”
Then, the fan said: “Please liam I’m begging man (sic)”
Liam performed at Knebworth earlier this summer, having previously played the iconic venue in 1996 with Oasis.
The band performed two nights in front of 125,000 at Knebworth, and Liam admitted to feeling like the “best thing since sliced bread” at the time.
He reflected: “Obviously, when you’re young and we did it with Oasis, I was 20-something, or whatever, and you know, you are sitting there thinking, ‘Oh we should have played there for a week’ because you think you are great, and you are the best thing since sliced bread.”
Liam turns 50 in September and he admitted to being blown away by his continued popularity.
Speaking before his return to Knebworth, Liam said: “At 50, doing it around my 50th is something to be, like, I’m blown away by it, man. But I know I’ll deliver, I ain’t gonna thank God for it and all that. You know what I mean?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John hopes his collaboration with Britney Spears will boost her confidence.
The 75-year-old star has teamed up with Britney, 40, for ‘Hold Me Closer’, and Elton believes the single could have a transformative impact on the pop icon, who won her long-running conservatorship battle last year.
Elton said: “She’s been away so long – there’s a lot of fear there because she’s been betrayed so many times and she hasn’t really been in the public eye officially for so long. We’ve been holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be alright.”
Elton believes the single could help Britney to understand the “love” and “care” that fans have for her.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “I’m so excited to be able to do it with her because if it is a big hit, and I think it may be, it will give her so much more confidence than she’s got already and she will realise that people actually love her and care for her and want her to be happy. That’s all anybody in their right mind would want after she went through such a traumatic time.”
Elton has helped numerous musicians to overcome personal problems over the years, including George Michael and Robbie Williams.
And the chart-topping pop icon believes that he can relate to Britney and what she’s been through.
He said: “It’s hard when you’re young. Britney was broken. I was broken when I got sober. I was in a terrible place. I’ve been through that broken feeling and it’s horrible. And luckily enough, I’ve been sober for 32 years and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been.
“Now I’ve got the experience to be able to advise people and help them because I don’t want to see any artists in a dark place. A lot of artists, you’d think they’d have a lot of self-esteem but they don’t, and that’s why we go onstage and we get the applause, and then we come offstage and we’re back to square one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Arctic Monkeys debuted new song ‘I Ain’t Quite Where I Think I Am’ at Zurich Openair festival on Tuesday night (23.08.22).
Alex Turner and co treated fans to what is believed to be the first taste of their follow-up to 2018’s ‘Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino’ LP, with the new tune very much still in that space-rock vein.
The ‘R U Mine?’ group – who headline Reading and Leeds Festivals this weekend – are said to have recorded their new album in Suffolk last summer.
Alex and co were reported to have stayed at Butley Priory, a former gatehouse to an Augustinian monastery, while they worked on their hotly-awaited follow-up to 2018’s ‘Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino’.
The venue itself let slip in a since-deleted blog post on their website: “We’ve had a band staying with us for the last month recording an album.
“Musicians love the acoustics in the Great Hall and Drawing Room, with their huge vaulted ceilings.
“Being serenaded while watering and weeding the garden, listening to the double bass, drums and piano wafting out of the open double doors, was pretty nice. Thank you, Arctic Monkeys.”
Earlier that year, drummer Matt Helders revealed the ‘505’ rockers were in the “early stages” of trying to “write a [new] record”.
However, they were “faced with various obstacles” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
He said: “Being separated by the sea is one of them.
“We’re all eager to do it – we would have been doing it by now in a normal time.
“There’s definitely a desire from our end to do a new record, as soon as we can.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gerard Way has been praised for “defying gender norms” after he rocked a cheerleading dress on stage at My Chemical Romance’s Nashville show on Tuesday night (23.08.22).
The frontman of the emo group donned the white and green dress with a W emblazoned on it as they gave the debut live performance of the studio version of ‘The World Is Ugly’ at the Bridgestone Arena.
The 45-year-old rocker was seen moshing along on stage much to the delight of fans who took to social media to share footage of the special moment.
The group surprise released their first new music in eight years, ‘The Foundations Of Decay’, in May.
Meanwhile, Gerard previously revealed that their 2006 classic ‘Welcome the Black Parade’ nearly got cut.
The lead single, which ended up being the central track of their LP ‘The Black Parade’, was originally titled ‘The Five of Us Are Dying’ and required some “reconstructing” before it became the “touchstone” for the concept of the record.
Speaking to mark the 15th anniversary of the acclaimed album last year, Gerard explained: “Originally, that song was called ‘The Five of Us Are Dying’. We played it and we really liked it, and I had felt that we needed that one song on the record, that touchstone that kind of introduces your concept, and the lyrics and the themes of that song kind of embody the themes of the record.
“All the other songs had really strong themes and titles and things like that.
“But we didn’t want to just give up on the song, so then I started to bring the concept into the musical side of things, where I was like, ‘I want to call this ‘Black Parade’, I want there to be a parade on the record’, and we started breaking the song and reconstructing it.”
Before they nailed the iconic opening piano notes, Gerard would refuse to consider the song because it was “about nothing”.
He added: “Once we re-approached it from the perspective of starting with a completely new introduction and a new way to start the song, it helped us fix the rest of it.
“Anytime it got brought up before we started breaking it, any time it kind of got brought up, especially by my AR, Craig Aaronson, I would just kind of shoo him away about it and be like, ‘Yeah, that song’s about nothing. I’m not interested in that one.’”

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato hasn’t ruled out releasing a rock version of ‘Cool for the Summer’.
The 30-year-old star has just released her heavy rock record ‘HOLY FVCK’, and she has admitted she’d be open to re-recording the pop hit from her 2015 album ‘Confident’ in the style of her new era.
Taking part in a new episode of ELLE’s ‘Song Association’ series, she said: “You never know what I might do in the future.”
Upon the album’s release, Demi said making the record gave her the “freedom to express” herself “in ways I didn’t know were possible.”
The former child star got to reclaim the artist she truly is on her follow-up to 2021’s ‘Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over’- and it was a “cathartic and exhilarating” experience.
In a typed-out note to fans on Twitter, she said: “HOLY FVCK gave me the freedom to express myself in ways I didn’t know were possible and find joy I’d been missing when making music.
It’s cathartic and grounded, yet exhilarating and a hell of a good time.”
She added: “I don’t know where I’ll be in life in a year, or in five or 10 years – but what I do know is that this record is exactly where I am now, and I am damn proud of it. I hope everyone who listens is too.”
The singer admitted in a recent interview that she won’t be hurrying to listen back to the album’s predecessor.
She said: “What I learned about myself making this record is that it’s okay to own your truth. The last album that I made, I’m proud of it, but I don’t feel like there was a lot of myself in it. There was a lot of authenticity in the lyrics, but sonically, let’s just say I don’t go back and listen to that music today. This album, I’m excited to perform it and listen back to it. I haven’t gotten tired of it.”
Demi admitted she previously chased radio hits and lost sight of the artist she truly is.
The ’29’ singer was “miserable” singing the songs on stage and despised dressing in leotards in heels because that wasn’t her style.
She recalled in a separate chat: “When I started my first two albums, I feel like my instincts were on track and I was doing the music that I loved listening to. And then I strayed away from it because I thought, ‘Well, I want radio songs.’ You know what I’m saying? I want songs that are going to be played on the radio, so I started doing more pop music. And I started to lose myself as well as myself as an artist … and honestly, it didn’t reflect what was inside of me. And I would get on stage, and I’d be in these leotards and these stiletto shoes that I was miserable in. And I danced. I did choreography and stuff like that, and I just wasn’t happy. And so I think that that led to me completely losing myself to find myself again, and I’ve started to find myself over time. And it’s funny that when you just go back to who you were in the beginning, as a 15-year-old, my instincts were correct. And I just got to stick to those but harder.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne attempted to change a lyric to his new song ‘One Of Those Days’ after Eric Clapton took issue with what he thought was an anti-Jesus stance.
The 73-year-old rocker has clarified that it’s not a song opposing Christ and revealed he struggled to come up with a replacement lyric after guitar legend Clapton, 77, who features on the rock song, questioned it.
Speaking to the new issue of Classic Rock magazine, Ozzy insisted: “It’s not an I Am An Anti-Christ song.
“It’s about those days where everything goes f****** wrong, and you’re going nuts trying to fix everything up.”
On Clapton’s query, he went on: “He said, ‘Oh, I’m not sure about that lyric’.
“So we tried to replace it with some alternatives. We did ‘One of those days where I don’t believe in Christmas’ but it didn’t sound right. Losing faith in Jesus makes much more sense when the world is turning to s***.”
The track is featured on his upcoming solo LP ‘Patient Number 9’.
The Black Sabbath legend said: “I think that song and the whole album turned out great.”
Ozzy is determined to get back onstage again as a “thank you” to his fans, but it’s not been possible so far due to his health issues.
The ‘Crazy Train’ rocker suffers from Parkinson’s disease and recently underwent surgery to readjust 15 metal rods on his spine, which were fitted following a quad-bike accident in 2003, but became dislodged after he suffered a nasty fall.
The Prince of Darkness added: “One of the reasons I made this record is so that people don’t forget me, and by hook or by crook I’ll be onstage again one day to say ‘thank you’ to the fans. If I can’t, I can’t, but my desire is strong.”
Ozzy is hoping to bag a number one album with ‘Patient Number 9’.
The ‘Changes’ singer managed to score a number three in the UK and US with his 12th solo record ‘Ordinary Man’ in 2020, and he’s hoping to jump two places in the Official UK Chart with his new record, which drops on September 9.
He said: “I still want to have a No.1 record in England. And this album is worthy of being the one.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Arctic Monkeys have announced their new album ‘The Car’.
The ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ band will release their seventh studio album on October 21 and frontman Alex Turner has revealed the record will bring the group “back to earth” following the intergalactic sound of their last album ‘Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino’.
Alex told The Big Issue: “I think we’ve got closer to a better version of a more dynamic overall sound with this record.
“The strings on this record come in and out of focus and that was a deliberate move and hopefully everything has its own space. There’s time the band comes to the front and then the strings come to the front.”
The record was made with the group’s regular producer James Ford and recorded at Butley Priory, a converted monastery in rural Suffolk.
Turner – who is joined in the band by Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders – explained that the decision to snub a typical recording studio was inspired by legends of rock-and-roll.
The 36-year-old musician said: “There’s a bunch of Led Zeppelin and Stones records where they were in this house in the country and then they went and sorted it all out and overdubbed it elsewhere.
“We went there in the summer, took all the equipment, got the raw material and then took it on elsewhere.”
The release of ‘The Car’ comes 20 years after Arctic Monkeys were formed in Sheffield and Turner wants the group to stay true to their roots.
He said: “You have to follow your instincts in the same way you did in the first place. In that way, it does all feel like it’s connected to us 20 years ago in the garage when it was pure instinct.”

The 70-year-old musician – who is in the band alongside Gene Simmons, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer – admitted the group won’t be making a follow up to their last studio album, 2012’s ‘Monster’, anytime soon because any new tracks won’t have that “connection to important times in your life”.
When asked if KISS are working on new music, he said: “No. Because at this point, I came to the conclusion that it can never compete with the past. Not because it’s not as good, but it hasn’t the connection to important times in your life.
“It doesn’t have that patina to it of, ‘Gee, I remember I heard this song when I was 18,’ or, ‘I heard this song when I was on my first date or whatever.’
“You can’t compete with that. It’s more than a song; it’s a snapshot of your life at a certain point.
“We did two albums in the last, I think probably 10 years, and there are songs on those that are every bit as good as anything I’ve ever written, but they’re new.
“Somebody says, ‘Why don’t you do a new album?’ You do a new album and do a song — we have one song, ‘Modern Day Delilah’, which is as good as ‘Love Gun’ or any of these songs, but it hasn’t aged; it’s not like wine that has a chance to have grown in importance. Not just because of what it is, but because what it’s surrounded by.”
Paul admitted it would be “setting myself up for disappointment” if he were to pen new songs.
Speaking on the ‘Howie Mandel Does Stuff’ podcast, he added: “I think it’s setting myself up for disappointment. Not crushing disappointment, but when you put your heart and soul into doing something and it kind of gets a polite nod, there’s other things I’d rather do.”
Earlier this month, Gene insisted KISS will “continue” beyond touring.
The ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ group are planning to bow out of live gigs after their ‘End of the Road’ farewell tour – which keeps getting extended – meets its conclusion.
He said: “KISS the touring band will stop. But the touring band. KISS will continue in other ways. I have no problems with four deserving 20-year-olds sticking the makeup back on and hiding their identity.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blur are reportedly planning a major music comeback with a huge gig in London.
The Britpop legends are said to have been “privately masterminding” their return over the last year and they are hoping to schedule a massive concert at London’s Wembley Stadium to celebrate 30 years since the release of their 1994 album ‘Parklife’.
A source told The Sun: “Britpop fans will want to shout this from the rooftop – Blur are back. The lads have been talking about this for a while and now it is becoming a reality.
“Their plans are being kept closely guarded but there is a concert at Wembley which has been pencilled in which will coincide with the 30th anniversary of their second album ‘Parklife’.”
No more details have been revealed but the 30th anniversary of ‘Parklife’ would be celebrated in 2024.
The publication reports all four bandmembers – Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree – are “onboard” with the idea and they have been “clearing their schedules” to make sure their comeback can happen.
Blur have been on hiatus since 2015 when they toured following the release of their last album ‘The Magic Whip’. Frontman Damon has been touring with his other band Gorillaz this year while guitarist Graham recently launched his new music project The WAEVE with The Pipettes star Rose Elinor Dougall.
Speaking to Metro last year, Damon insisted he wasn’t ruling out a reunion. When asked if Blur are “dead and buried”, he replied: “Not at all.”
Damon went on: “I am just about to have a conversation with people about Blur and I would love to sing all those songs again. I miss the songs. I miss playing with Blur … (It’s) not something I would do just for the sake of it. There has to be a really good reason to do it all again and then I will wholeheartedly engage with it.”
