OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift says the red scarf in ‘All Too Well’ is a “metaphor.”
The 32-year-old pop star released the track and its accompanying 10-minute short film towards the end of 2021 and sparked rumours that the “red scarf” she sings about was still in the possession of ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal but has now admitted that the garment was simply a storytelling device, with the colour chosen after its parent album’s title.
Speaking on stage at the Toronto International Film Festival, she said: “Basically, the scarf is a metaphor and we turned it red because red is a very important colour in this album, which is called ‘Red’. And, I think when I say it’s a metaphor … I’m just going to stop!”
The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker alleges in the lyrics that she left a scarf at the house of a sister to a man she was dating and fans believe that she is alluding to the ‘Brokeback Mountain’ actor – whom she dated from October 2010 until January 2011 – and his sister Maggie.
On the track, Taylor sings: “I walked through the door with you, the air was cold. But something about it felt like home somehow. And I left my scarf there at your sister’s house. And you’ve still got it in your drawer even now.”
However, at the time, Maggie admitted that she “never understood” what the scarf was about and why she was repeatedly asked about it.
She said: “I never understood why everybody asked me about this scarf. I am in the dark about the scarf. It’s totally possible. I don’t know. I have been asked this before!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson put “a lot of pressure” on himself with his new album.
The 30-year-old pop star is due to release sophomore record ‘Faith in the Future’ in November 2022 but in the meantime has released lead single ‘Bigger Than Me’ and admitted that t was “important” to him that the songs fit within the context of live shows.
He said: “We wrote it in London and there was a lot of pressure – or at least I’d put a lot of pressure on myself in terms of what I wanted out of this first single. And I knew that I kind of had to come out with something that feels pretty big in size. I’m a massive, massive fan of that chorus and it gives you that kind of feeling and feels like an ambitious song to come out with. But also something that has been important to me throughout “It was the writing process is that it is something that you can imagine easily in the context of the live show and that’s really important for me because that is my favourite stuff to do. So I’m really looking forward to doing this one live.”
The former One Direction star – who released his first album ‘Walls’ back in 2020 almost five years after the boy band went on hiatus – went on to tease that although he doesn’t want to “give too much” away about his upcoming record, it is about his “relationship with his fans” and how he felt during lockdown.
Speaking on the ‘Smallzy’s Surgery’ podcast, he added: “I feel like I gave a lot away on my first record but without giving too much away it’s just kind of feelings that I had in lockdown and understanding what my job is and what my relationship is with the fans and what all of that means really.”
‘Faith in the Future’ is due for release on November 11 2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Duran Duran dedicated ‘Save a Prayer’ to Queen Elizabeth during a live performance at the Hollywood Bowl.
The rock band – currently made up of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor – was appearing at the LA amphitheater on Friday (09.09.22) and encouraged the crowd to light up their phones as they played their 1982 ballad in memory of the late monarch, following her death on Thursday at the age of 96.
Simon Le Bon told the crowd: “So, you know that it’s a real sad time for a lot of us Brits, and a lot of other people around the world, and we would like to make our own tribute to Queen Elizabeth, If you’d like to join us and show your respect, please take your cell phone out, switch the light on. Let’s fill the Bowl with light for the queen. We say goodbye.”
The performance was preceded by the display of a portrait of the Queen, which was said to have been shown on the screen moments before the band took to the stage.
The gesture came just hours after the ‘Come Undone’ hitmakers – who performed outside Buckingham Palace back in June for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – took to social media in the wake of the Queen’s death to pay their respects.
They wrote: “Her Majesty the Queen has presided over the UK for longer than any other British monarch. She dedicated her life to the people and set an extraordinary example to the world throughout her reign

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande is allegedly planning at least one collaboration after she wraps ‘Wicked’.
The 29-year-old pop megastar is focusing on her big-screen adaptation of the Broadway classic, in which she will play Glinda the Good Witch.
The film is to be released in two parts in 2024 and 2025.
And Grammy winner Kali Uchis has claimed the ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker has promised to hit the studio with her once she is finished with ‘Wicked’, suggesting it might be a little while yet until Ariana releases her follow-up to 2020’s ‘Positions’.
During a TikTok live-stream, Kali teased: “She’s not recording right now because working on her movie stuff; her play that she’s doing… She said that when she’s done with that, we are going to work. I’m excited for that.”
Ariana previously admitted her role as Glinda and her beauty brand REM Beauty are taking priority – with music taking a backseat for the time being.
She said in May: “This is a question I’m nervous to answer, but I feel like I want to have a little bit of transparency and honesty with my fans. Why not, you know? … The truth is, I have not begun an album. I know, I hear through the grapevine that you have a lot of theories and expectations in that department. But after ‘Positions’, I was not ready to start another album yet, so I have not begun another album.
“That’s the main … I mean, that was really the only reason, but aside from that, that was kind of around that time that I started hearing murmurs about a ‘Wicked’ audition coming soon, so I went into full preparation mode while I was also shooting ‘The Voice’. So I was shooting and then also doing lessons every day, cause I just wanted to be prepared for when the call came. I had no idea what it was coming, but I was just like, ‘I want to be ready to go in.’ I know the material like the back of my hand, but I still have so much to learn and I want to be in prime condition.
“So I went pretty hard getting ready, and now, thank god … thank goodness, literally, the most incredible gift of my entire life is, you know, this role that I’ve adored since I’m ten years old, and that is going to have every piece of me; every minute, every ounce of my heart, my time, my soul, my everything that I can give it.
“So my hands are quite full with a lot of other thrillifying work at the moment, and this being a part of it. REM Beauty is really fun and we work really hard on that as well. But yeah, I am spending all of my time with Glinda. I just was not ready. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fall Out Boy have put a “guitar-based” new album “on the back burner”.
The ‘Dance Dance’ group were planning to go “back to [their] roots” on their next album but have set the songs aside, much to the apparent frustration of guitarist Joe Trohman, who would like to see the band return to their old sound, but in a fresh way.
He revealed: “We were working on some stuff that was guitar-based. I don’t know know what’s happening with it. I think it unfortunately went to the back burner. It would be nice to make a record where the guitar is a little more upfront.
“We did start that way, as a guitar-based rock band, and it’d be cool to go back to those roots. We’d have to find a way to do it that doesn’t sound like Fall Out Boy from 2005. It might be cool for somebody else to do that, but it wouldn’t be cool for us to do it.”
Joe also admitted he wasn’t a fan of the group’s 2018 record ‘Mania’, expressing his frustration that he would rather make a “cool record” than aim for chart success.
Speaking on the ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’ podcast, he admitted: “I’d say, ‘I’m gonna extricate myself from this. This is not what I want to do. When you have some stuff together, give it to me. If you want me to throw some ideas on there or whatever, I’ll do it in my recording studio.’
“And I did that a little bit, but overall, I stayed pretty much out of it, more or less.
“‘Mania’ has some cool ideas and interesting stuff in there. But it didn’t work as well, and I can’t say I love it.
“That’s what leads me, hopefully, to go back to making a record… with guitars, bass, drums, vocal.
“I love synthesizers, synthesizers that we play. We can play music; let’s play the music. Let’s not go for samples. Let’s not try to reach for singles.
“At this point, we’ve had so many hit singles. Do we really even need to reach for singles anymore? I think we should just make a cool record.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Luke Grimes has a country album on the way.
The ‘Yellowstone’ and ‘Fifty Shades’ actor – who plays Kayce Dutton in the Emmy-nominated neo-Western drama series and Elliot Grey in the blockbuster erotic trilogy, respectively – is never without his beloved guitar and is constantly playing even when he’s not working on a record.
Luke, 38, told Country Living: “The first place I moved after Ohio was New York City. Having a drum set in New York is impossible—your neighbors would kill you—so I got a guitar and started teaching myself chords.
It’s been a part of my life ever since. If I have an acting gig, I always have a guitar. And not just because I’m working on an album.
It’s always been a little buddy that I can take around anywhere. It’s somewhere to put some of that energy when you’re in a new place and don’t know what else to do.”
It was his pastor father who got the ‘American Sniper’ star into country music.
He said of his childhood musical influences: “Church music was the first music in my life. My dad was a pastor, and I was at church three days a week. I was the church drummer starting at age nine.
“From there, my dad listened to Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard—all of those old-school outlaw country guys.
We would always play that on boys’ trips. It’s what got me into country music.”
Luke used to be the drummer of the alt-country band Mitchells Folly, and he’s set his sights on returning to his roots.
He previously said: “I think it would be weird if Kayce stared singing.
“But here pretty soon, you’ll see Luke singing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roxy Music are rumoured to be playing Glastonbury’s legends slot in 2023.
Bryan Ferry and co reunited for a 50th anniversary tour this month, their first in 11 years, and it’s now been claimed the glam rock legends are being eyed for the Sunday tea-time slot at the world-famous music festival in Somerset, England, next summer.
The official eFestivals Twitter page tweeted: “I’m hearing that Roxy Music will do the Legends Slot at next year’s Glastonbury.
“Like all rumours, it might be wrong but I don’t think it is.”
It was on the eFestivals forum that someone said “a very reliable source” let slip that the ‘Slave to Love’ hitmakers were chosen for the slot, which has seen the likes of Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, Barry Gibb and Diana Ross grace the Pyramid Stage.
In July, Graham Gouldman claimed 10cc were offered the legends slot.
The ‘I’m Not In Love’ hitmaker admitted it’s unlikely they’ll make it to Worthy Farm because organisers Emily and Michael Eavis would like the original line-up – also including Kevin Godley, Lol Creme and Eric Stewart – to play the Pyramid Stage.
The 76-year-old star said: “We’ve had an offer to play the legends slot at Glastonbury.
“But they want the original line-up to reform. I don’t think that’s likely.”
In 2012, 10cc embarked on a 40th-anniversary tour, however, the only original member to hit the road was Graham.
The touring line-up currently comprises Graham, Paul Burgess, Rick Fenn, Keith Hayman and Iain Hornal.
Kevin and Lol quit the band in 1976 due to artistic disagreements and became a duo, while Eric departed in 1995.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John’s final-ever US show will be live-streamed on Disney+.
The music legend’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ jaunt will stop at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 20, and the performance will be available to watch live on the streaming service.
In May, it was announced that the ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker’s extraordinary life and career will be documented in an upcoming Disney+ documentary.
‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years that Made His Legend’ will feature never-before-seen archival footage and new interviews.
It will be released to coincide with the 75-year-old icon wrapping the North American leg of his final tour at the Dodger Stadium, the world-famous venue Elton played two shows in 1975, where he was joined for a duet of ‘Philadelphia Freedom’ by tennis ace Billie Jean King.
R.J. Cutler, who helmed the Billie Eilish documentary ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ for Disney, is directing, while the ‘Hold Me Closer’ hitmaker’s husband, David Furnish, is producing.
Cutler said: “What a thrill and an honor it is that David Furnish and I get to create this intimate and unique look at one of the world’s most celebrated artists.
“As it has for so many others, Elton John’s music has had deep meaning for me for decades, and this opportunity is nothing short of a career highlight and privilege.”
Bob Chapek, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, commented: “There are no superlatives left to describe Elton John and his impact on music and culture — he’s simply unrivaled.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pearl Jam honoured the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks at their New York City concert on Sunday (11.09.22).
Eddie Vedder and co were playing their 37th concert in the Big Apple at the world-famous Madison Square Garden on the 21st anniversary of the coordinated attacks by the Islamic group al-Qaeda on September 11, 2001, in the US, which saw two planes crash into the World Trade Center and one into the Pentagon, killing almost 3,000 people.
And the 57-year-old frontman admitted the milestone concert will likely be their “most memorable” of all, as he stood in “solidarity” with his fellow Americans and paid his respects.
He told the crowd: “There was a time we supported each other. That’s the part we cannot forget. Let those lessons be remembered as our solidarity to come together and keep this country straight.”
The Seattle legend noted a few songs later: “This is the 37th time this band has played in New York City. I think we’ve only played Seattle 50. Here’s the thing – I don’t remember half of those f****** Seattle shows. I just don’t. But I feel like we remember every Manhattan show.
“This potentially has the chance to be the most memorable of them all. We are quite honoured to be spending this important date with you.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Alive’ rockers dedicated a shortened rendition of The Beatles’ ‘Her Majesty’ to the late Queen Elizabeth II at their Toronto gig on September 8, which took place just hours after the 96-year-old British monarch passed away peacefully at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
Eddie – who is back on stage after suffering vocal issues due to inhaling “dust and smoke from the fires” in France in July – told the audience at the Scotiabank Arena: “This is just one I’m gonna do from Paul McCartney.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Clean Bandit have released the French The Kid and Rema-featuring Afrobeats tune ‘Sad Girls’.
The ‘Rather Be’ hitmakers – comprising Grace Chatto, Jack Patterson and Luke Patterson – have a number of “future-facing pop” records on the way, including yet-to-be-released collaborations with Central Cee, Burna Boy, Ckay and Omah Lay.
For now, their latest earworm is with the rising British rapper and Nigerian artist Rema.
French The Kid previously provided a verse on a version of Clean Bandit’s 2021 track ‘Drive’.
As for Rema, he had just 24 hours to lay down his part on ‘Sad Girls’, which was nailed at 5am and blew the ‘Rockabye’ hitmakers away.
The trio said in a statement: “We met French The Kid last year, after falling in love with his song ‘Thrill’, and we were honoured that he recorded a verse for our ‘Drive’ remix. After that, he came to our studio and we made two songs from scratch, one of them is ‘Sad Girls’.
Rema is one of our favourite artist in the world, so we were again honoured when during a recent 24-hour stopover in London he spent a night with us in the studio. He wrote his verse for ‘Sad Girls’ at about five in the morning towards the end of the session. We were so tired but he was totally energetic, and witnessing his creative process was one of the best experiences we’ve had in the band’s history.
The meeting of musical styles contained in this song is exactly what we strive for and have always strived for since the beginning of Clean Bandit – the weaving of unexpected sound worlds in organic moments, creating songs that we love.”
The tune is the follow-up to February’s A7S-featuring ‘Everything But You’.
Clean Bandit’s last studio album was 2018’s ‘What Is Love?’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mötley Crüe are plotting a 2024 US tour and have hinted at another Las Vegas residency.
Frontman Vince Neil – who is joined by drummer Tommy Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist Mick Mars in the ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ group – has revealed the foursome are planning a jaunt across America after their ‘The Stadium Tour’, which wrapped in Vegas last week.
Speaking with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Vince said: “We’re far from being over.
“When we come back in ’24, we’re going to do it all over again.”
The ‘Shout At the Devil’ rockers previously had stints at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel in Sin City in 2012 and 2013.
And Vince, 61, says they haven’t ruled out a return to the Vegas strip.
He said: “We have definitely talked about doing it, and everybody loves to do the residencies, so I say, ‘Yeah, we’re gonna do it.’
“We just have to look at some time in ’24, to be back in Vegas. But we will be back.”
And while they aren’t retiring from the road anytime soon, Vince insisted new music is not on the cards.
He told the publication before the final gig on September 9: “We are strictly a touring band.
“When you see this show at Allegiant, you’ll see why. You’re going to see something that’s unbelievable, lights and lasers, three dancers. There are a lot of cool special effects, and a cool band putting on a rock show.”
Mötley retired from touring in 2015 after their ‘The End Tour’ before reuniting three years later.
The band released three new songs – ‘Ride With The Devil’, ‘Crash And Burn’, and ‘Like A Virgin’ (Madonna cover) – for the soundtrack to the 2019 film adaptation of the band’s biography, ‘The Dirt’, for Netflix.

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Blackstone wants to take Dr. Dre’s Super Bowl show on the road.
The musical director – who just won an Emmy Awards for his work on the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show – brought together an all star cast earlier this year with the ‘Forgot About Dre’ hitmaker joined by Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar for the performance.
Speaking to Variety, he addressed the huge success of the show and said: “I’m calling them all out. Let’s take this on the road.”
Although Dre was headlining, the legendary guests making their cameos added to the special feel on the night, and Adam’s goal was to put on “a great music show”.
He added: “It wasn’t about Black or white. It wasn’t about hip-hop versus pop music.
“I pride myself on making that a great music show that will continue to show the legacy of each of those artists.”
A big challenge for him was the fact that everyone involved could have headlined the Super Bowl in their own right, but he was having to find a way to fit them all in.
He quipped: “People can’t be mad at me saying, ‘You should have added that.’ Mary could do 12 minutes by herself. So could Snoop and Dre.
“It was my job to curate a playlist and you get your favorite artist for 90 seconds.”
While currently serving as musical director for Nicki Minaj and Justin Timberlake, Adam has collaborated with a whole host of big name stars including Janet Jackson, the Jonas Brothers, Maroon 5 and Demi Lovato.
Meanwhile, after reuniting for the Super Bowl, Dre has confirmed he and Eminem are officially worked on some new material together for the first time in three decades.
Last month, he teased: “We’re cooking up a little something. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again.
“It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora will “never forget” performing in Tirana.
The 31-year-old pop star – who is originally from Kosovo geographically but is of Albanian descent – counts the capital city of Albania as home and took to the stage on Tuesday (06.07.22) in Skederbej Square after she was awarded the Naim Frashëri order by the President of Albania, Mr Bajram Begaj for her services to art and culture.
She said: “There are some things in life you never forget, this trip will be one of them. Today has been an unreal day. I had the great honour of being awarded the Naim Frashëri order by the President of Albania, Mr Bajram Begaj. This is something awarded to Albanians and foreign citizens for their valuable works and activities in science, art and culture. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.”
The ‘Body on Me’ hitmaker – who was born in Pristina, Kosovo but moved to London with her parents as a child when they sought refuge in the U.K – opened her set with 2019 song ‘Ritual’ before ripping through a selection of her biggest hits including ‘ I Will Never Let You Down’, ‘Your Song’ and ‘Hot Right Now’ before wrapping up the night with an encore consisting of;’ Lonely Together’ and the chart-topping single ‘Anywhere’.
Rita was dressed in a custom piece created for her by fellow Albanian and renowned fashion designer Valdrin Sahiti, who has created outfits for the likes of Beyonce, Cardi B, Paris Hilton and Angelica Ross.
The free concert was organised by the Mayor of the city, Erion Veliaj, to celebrate Albania’s Capital city, Tirana, being named the EU’s Youth Capital for 2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson will lift the lid on her split from husband Brandon Blackstock on her new album.
The 40-year-old singer is preparing to release her first record in five years in 2023 and she’s revealed the new songs will focus on her heartache as her marriage broke down – revealing she was writing around 25 tracks a week in the aftermath of the couple’s separation back in 2020.
Speaking to Variety, Kelly explained: “When my ex and I first separated, there were many emotions. It was hard. My producer and I were laughing yesterday because I was like, ‘Remember that time we wrote, like, 25 songs in a week?’
“A lot of those are the ones that are on the album. I literally wrote most of these almost two years ago. Then I told my label, ‘I can’t talk about this until I’ve gone through it’, and it’s just taken some time to do that.”
Kelly insisted she wasn’t focused on her music for a long time due to other work commitments as well as raising her two kids with Brandon, but the divorce prompted her to get back to the studio.
She added: “I hadn’t really been working hardcore on an album until I needed to. I was just very busy. There were so many jobs, and I’m a single mom – well, even with being married, it’s a lot, trying to fit kids’ schedules in and all that stuff.
“But then the whole divorce thing happened, and I needed to write it. And then I didn’t know if I was going to release it, because you can be very angry in that state of mind. So some of the songs, they definitely cover the gamut of emotions; there’s everything on the album.”
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ star added of the new record: “It’s almost like the arc of a relationship, because the beginning is so beautiful and so sweet, and then it evolves. And sometimes it doesn’t evolve how you want.”
Kelly and Brandon married in 2013 and became parents to daughter River and son Remy before splitting in 2020 with the singer filing for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
The divorce was finalised in August 2021.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Libertines are in “shock” after their original drummer, Paul Dufour, died on Tuesday (06.09.22).
The late sticksman – who was also known by the nickname “Mr Razzcocks” – has sadly passed away with a cause of death unknown at this time.
In a statement, the band wrote on social media on Wednesday (07.09.22) alongside a picture with the drummer: “Paul Dufour, our much loved drummer from the early days, passed away last night.
“We are all in great shock and sadness. Sending love and thoughts to Paul’s friends and family. It was honour to play with you Mr Razzcocks. Forever in our hearts x. (sic)”
Paul had a brief stint with the band in 2000 and was replaced by current drummer Gary Powell a year later.
This year, the group have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed debut album ‘Up the Bracket’.
But Gary recently admitted he’s been more excited about their new album.
He said: “My mind is more in line with the opportunity to record a new album than anything regarding 20 years ago. We’ve been playing the majority of the album [‘Up the Bracket’] for 20 years now, so this year for me, is a great opportunity to draw a line under this part of the saga and move on to the next phase.”
Gary also admitted that while the group aren’t going to take on a full genre change with their new material, he hopes they will be able to “push the boat out a little more”.
He added: “The good thing is everybody’s been writing. I’m hoping there’s going to be a whole new fervour and interesting dimension added to how we approach things.
“Obviously, we’re not going to try and reinvent the wheel and be like Depeche Mode going from rock ‘n’ roll to electronic, but I think we can push the boat out a little more while still bringing something that has the same emotional integrity and dynamism that the audience craves when they come to a Libertines show.”
Co-frontman Pete Doherty recently teased plans for a follow-up to 2015’s ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth’, saying: “We still feel there’s unfinished business and there are more songs to write. But he [Barat] doesn’t want to do it in England, or in France, which he sees as my turf.
“So the plan is to go to Jamaica and try to make another Libertines record.”
The Libertines are completed by co-frontman Carl Barat and bassist John Hassall.

OHMYGOSSIP — Guitars owned by music legends Sir Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Slash are being sold to raise funds for the people of Ukraine.
The Gibson Guitars For Peace Ukraine Relief sale will see profits from the sales of the instruments go towards humanitarian efforts amid Russia’s ongoing invasion of its neighbouring country.
Julien’s Auctions is accepting bids from October 11, with a live auction set for November 11 to 13 online and in-person at the Hard Rock New York.
Beatles legend McCartney, 80, said: “I’m happy to auction this beautiful guitar of mine to benefit the fine people of Ukraine.
“Hopefully it will help them through this aggressive Russian invasion.”
Guns N’ Roses’ axe-slayer Slash said: “It is an honour to represent the brave sovereign state of Ukraine.

Several bands and artists have been performing with Gibson guitars in the colours of the Ukrainian flag in solidarity with the war-torn country.
Gibson has also created a limited set of four Guitars For Peace Les Paul Custom electric guitars, which come with autograph books signed by a number of musicians, including Chic, My Chemical Romance, The Vaccines, and even Hollywood actor Jason Momoa.
Meanwhile, Sony Music Group has just announced it has suspended all operations in Russia.
The major label said in a statement: “Sony Music Group calls for peace in Ukraine and an end to the violence. We have suspended operations in Russia and will continue our support of global humanitarian relief efforts to aid victims in need.”
