OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John will take a mini “hiatus” from music making “to figure out” what’s next.
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker will quit touring on July 8, 2023, after he’s played the final date of his mammoth ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour in Stockholm, Sweden.
And while he won’t rule out collaborating with other artists, the 75-year-old music legend has no plans to release any new music next year and is planning to take a little break from the studio to decide what he wants to do.
Elton reassured fans that he will never give up music because it’s so “incredibly healing”.
Speaking on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, he said of future collaborations after his latest, ‘Hold Me Closer’ with Britney Spears: “I’m open to anything but I’ve got to finish my tour and I probably won’t release anything next year but who knows! I may get an offer from somebody, you never know… I might do something on someone else’s record but not on mine.”
The ‘I’m Still Standing’ hitmaker has some musicals on the way in the meantime, having penned the music for ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ stage adaptation and ‘Tammy Faye’ with Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears.
He went on: “After next year when I finish [the tour] in Stockholm I’ll go on a bit of a hiatus and figure out what I’m going to do next. It won’t be performing but what it will be, who knows. There’s a documentary out next year, I have a musical coming out next year. I have a musical coming out this year at the Almeida Theatre called ‘Tammy Faye’ which I’ve written with Jake Shears from the Scissor Sisters. I like to keep myself busy but music to me is the most incredibly healing and fabulous thing. My whole life has been informed with music and it’s not going to stop now.”
Elton – who has collaborated with fellow music icons, including the late John Lennon, Aretha Franklin and Little Richard, in the past – revealed that 40-year-old pop idol Britney was “a little nervous” recording her vocals with him but he hailed her for doing an amazing job and said he was eager to help the star revive her career after she was freed from her lengthy conservatorship last year.
He said: “It was my husband David [Furnish] who said ‘how about Britney Spears doing this?’ We’ve been in a bit of a Britney bubble because we watched the documentary and been following what’s been happening to her and I said I’d love her to do it; I’d love to sing with her and I think it would be good for her, tremendously good for her. So we approached her and I think she was a little nervous but she went in to the studio in LA and she sang brilliantly and the result is ‘Hold Me Closer’. It all worked out and I’m happy because this is not about her personal life – this is music and so many people are on her side, and love her and haven’t had any music from her since 2016. It’s a real big bonus for me to have her on the song, she still sings amazingly and I’m trying to get her back to what she does – singing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A newly mixed and extended edition of the Beatles’ seminal 1966 album ‘Revolver’ features an acoustic rendition of ‘Yellow Submarine’ by John Lennon.
The special boxset has been freshly mixed by producer Giles Martin – the son of the legendary Liverpool group’s late studio wizard George Martin – and engineer Sam Okell in stereo and Dolby Atmos, utilising the latest technology.
And it boasts never-before-released studio recordings and demos, including the downbeat rendition of ‘Yellow Submarine’.
Giles said at a listening event for the boxset: “I didn’t realise it was very much a John Lennon song, that Paul commercialised in a way [until that clip].”
The Beatles classic was penned as a children’s song by Sir Paul McCartney and Lennon, but it was drummer Sir Ringo Starr who performed lead vocals.
Elsewhere, one of the outtakes sees McCartney joke with string players about using vibrato.
Giles said: “You’d think the strings players wouldn’t like playing on a pop record too much, but they were actually engaged with how the record would sound. They had an opinion, and you can hear it on here.”
Other gems include the first take of ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ from a session on April 6, 1966, an unreleased mono mix and a special mix highlighting the overdubs of three trumpets and two tenor saxophones on ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’.
There’s also the first take and rehearsal of ‘Love You To’ featuring late band member George Harrison playing his beloved sitar and McCartney on tambourine, plus a version of ‘Taxman’ with alternative lyrics.
Fans will also hear chatter amongst the band in the studio.
Giles is quoted by Billboard as saying: “It was that constant evolution with the Beatles. They got bored really quickly, and he was open-minded enough to [trust them.] I think this was the point where my dad was learning just as much from them as they were from him.”
The physical and digital Super Deluxe collections come with the album’s original mono mix, 28 early takes from the sessions and three home demos, and a four-track EP with new stereo mixes and remastered original mono mixes for ‘Paperback Writer’ and ‘Rain’. The album’s new Dolby Atmos mix will be released digitally on October 28.

OHMYGOSSIP — Stewart Copeland “cried” during the late Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane’s rehearsal for the Wembley Stadium tribute show.
The 16-year-old offspring of the Foo Fighters drummer – who tragically passed away aged 50 in March – stole the show at his father’s memorial concert at the weekend, slaying the drums on ‘My Hero’ with Dave Grohl and the gang.
And the former Police drummer – who performed ‘Next To You’ and ‘Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic’ with Foos at the charity event – wept as he saw the teenager emulate his father’s musical “stance”.
Speaking on ‘CBS Mornings’, the 70-year-old rocker said: “It is very emotional to be here and perhaps the most emotional moment of this whole thing, because we’re all staying in one big hotel together and laughing it up, talking about Taylor and enjoying the brief time he was with us, all too brief.
“But the most emotional moment for me was at sound check a couple of days ago here and to see young Shane Hawkins on the drums. I started crying. He’s got it. He’s got such power, enthusiasm. He’s got his father’s stance, musical language. That was really emotional to see young Shane up there.”
The evening also saw a few surprises along the way, with Sir Paul McCartney coming out for a duet with The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde.
Taylor was a Queen mega-fan and guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor were also part of the celebration of his life.
They were joined by ‘Eurovision’ runner-up Sam Ryder for a rendition of ‘Somebody To Love’.
Liam Gallagher – who was good pals with Taylor, who adored his former band Oasis – opened the show with ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ with Foos.
The Los Angeles edition of the memorial concert takes place at The Forum on September 27.

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Trainor will release the new single, ‘Don’t I Make It Look Easy’, on Friday (09.09.22).
The ‘All About That Bass’ hitmaker has announced the release date of her second single from her upcoming album, ‘Takin’ It Back’, which follows the Teddy Swims-featuring ‘Bad For Me’.
Alongside a 25-second teaser clip of the upbeat tune, Meghan simply tweeted: “Don’t I Make It Look Easy out on Friday 9/9.”
The 28-year-old singer recently revealed ‘Don’t I Make It Look Easy’ is about social media and how it can distort the truth about parenting.
She said: “I talk about how we post on social media, how easy our life is. We don’t post the bad. And I’m like, ‘Don’t I make being a mom, a hardworking mom look easy?’ That’s what I’m really talking about. But also, social media’s a lie.”
‘Takin’ It Back’ – which is released on October 21 – also features a number of sexy songs she penned with her brothers.
The pop star delved into the songwriting process revealing a number of the saucy tracks on the record were a group effort with her siblings Ryan and Justin Trainor.
During an appearance on E! News’ ‘Daily Pop’ show, she talked about her upcoming song ‘Dance About It’ and explained: “It’s like, ‘Let’s just like hook up and have a good night’. And I’m like, ‘God, I’m writing this with my bros.’ But it’s just like normal for us. We’re just writing songs, telling stories.”
Meghan became a first-time mum last year when she welcomed baby Riley with husband Daryl Sabara, and she admits her new role as a parent has influenced her music.
She also tackles difficult subject matters including a tricky relationship with a family member in the song ‘Bad For Me’.
Meghan added of the track: “I like when people take it into their own world and their own life situations. On TikTok, I see a lot of people telling their stories in it. It makes me emotional and makes me feel like, ‘Oh, it’s important that we put this out.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Taylor is to release a recording of ‘The Outsider Live’ as an album.
The 73-year-old musician – who is best known as the drummer of legendary rock band Queen – embarked on a solo tour in support of his sixth solo studio album ‘The Outsider’ back in 2021 and is now wants his fans to “enjoy” the album after such “dark times.”
He said: “For some time now, we’ve all just been trying to get by. Now, it’s back to the basics, myself and some great musical pals getting back out there to play some rock. I just want everybody to enjoy it, get away from the depressing time we’d been having.”
The live recording is a combination of various shows from the 22-date tour and is due to be released as a 2CD set, and digital release at the end of September but will be preceded by a new version of ‘Surrender’ – a 1999 track that highlighted domestic violence – which has been taken from a live recording at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth.
When it comes to his solo music, Roger explained that he “doesn’t try” to emulate the sound of Queen – with whom he sold 300 million records worldwide – and would rather just be himself.
He said: “I don’t try and sound like Queen or not like Queen. I just want it to be me.”
The live album sees Roger take audiences through renditions of solo efforts such as ‘Strange Frontier’, ‘Gangsters Are Running The World’ and ‘Outsider’ before closing out the show with Queen classic ‘Radio Gaga’ live from Guilford.
Roger dedicated the album to Foo Fighters star Taylor Hawkins – who was found dead at the age of 50 back in March 2022 – and described the late rocker as his “brother.”
He said: “This album is dedicated to the memory of Taylor Hawkins. My wonderful brother who brought sunshine into all our lives.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Two Door Cinema Club have cancelled their tour as Kevin Baird battles an “incurable autoimmune disease”.
The ‘Sleep Alone’ band won’t be performing their upcoming European headline tour due to the health of their bassist, who had been receiving treatment for the illness.
In a lengthy statement shared on social media, he said: “Earlier this year I was diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease and have been receiving treatment for this by the incredible NHS.
“I’ve loved every second of playing shows again this summer, especially after such a long time away but the harsh reality is that it’s been really hard on my body.
“I’ve been experiencing a lot of ups and downs in managing this b****** of a disease and after a lot of long chats with my doctor we’ve
decided that the next step is surgery to remove the affected organ after which it should be much more manageable.
“I’m scheduled to have the operation in a few weeks so I’m really sorry to have to tell you we’re going to have to cancel our EU tour in September/October.”
The musician added that his current medical advice is to “wait and see how recovery goes” after the operation before making a decision on shows later in 2022.
He continued: “We will of course keep you guys updated as to whether the North American tour will proceed, as soon as we know, you’ll know.
“I know this is far from ideal and we’re so sad we won’t be able to make these EU shows happen, we’ve been so looking forward to seeing you after so long!”
Kevin also thanked the NHS and his bandmates Alex Timble and Sam Halliday, as well as the fans for their support.
He said: “I want to say thank you to the amazing NHS for taking such good care of me, thank you to Sam and Alex for their support an understanding but mainly thanks to all of you for being the best fans in the world.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Cliff Richard is releasing his first Christmas album in almost 20 years.
The 81-year-old music legend has announced his new Yuletide collection ‘Christmas With Cliff’ will arrive on November 25.
As well as festive covers such as ‘Joy To The World’, ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ and ‘Sleigh Ride’, the ‘Devil Woman’ hitmaker has recorded brand new original tracks ‘First Christmas’, ‘Six Days After Christmas (Happy New Year)’ and ‘Heart Of Christmas’.
The ‘Summer Holiday’ singer ironically recorded the festive songs in sunny Florida.
He said in a statement: “I have always loved being in recording studios ever since Studio 2, Abbey Road, in 1958.
“I recorded this album in Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida – 4,427 miles away from Abbey Road – and once again I felt that I was in a world of my own.
“I had the help of two producers, Sam Hollander and Chris Walden.
“They guided me through the ‘well-known’ Christmas songs and freed me to sing them my way.
“They had differing approaches to the songs that I asked them to produce for me, and they gave this album the dynamics that I had hoped for.
“This album is not just mine – it belongs to all of us involved in creating it, and I hope that we add a little something special to your Christmas season.”
The ‘Honky Tonk Angel’ singer released ‘Cliff at Christmas’ in 2003 and ‘Together With Cliff Richard’ in 1991.
Cliff has had four UK Christmas No.1 singles, two as a solo artist with ‘Mistletoe and Wine’ and ‘Saviour’s Day’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Martin has revealed Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ world tour very nearly didn’t happen due to a “big financial crisis”.
The ‘Paradise’ hitmakers are currently amid the mammoth jaunt in support of their ninth studio album but the band are lucky it happened at all and are thankful the run was “saved” and they could “sustain” the “losses”.
Seemingly referring to losses from the COVID-19 pandemic when touring wasn’t possible frontman Chris Martin is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: “It became financially stressful, which we hadn’t had before. We never really had a big financial crisis.
“This was the first time where there was a point where we couldn’t do the tour due to all the money stuff.
“But luckily we had some help and they saved the day and we did a few changes here and there.
“This tour was about trying new things and some of them work and some don’t. We are so lucky that we can survive and sustain losses and that’s OK.”
The fantastical show they ended up with sees Chris and co perform with alien masks and with the fictional puppet band The Weirdos.
However, the ‘Yellow’ hitmaker has admitted his bandmate, drummer Will Champion, has to reign in some of his more wacky ideas.
Chris said: “We have ideas people and filters in the band.
“Without both we couldn’t operate. For every idea that you see on stage there has been about 51 that Will said, ‘No way’. But that is how it works. He has to feel it. Once he feels it, we do it.
“That is why Will is the heart and the anchor of the band.
“If it doesn’t resonate with him, we don’t do it. If it’s close, we keep going until it does.”
He went on to explain that they used aliens instead of naming and shaming those they take issue with.
Chris – who is vocal about politics and sustainability – added: “The aliens and all that stuff, it’s allegorical. It’s us talking about life on Earth but without naming names because we are not really into criticism or finger pointing.
“But having alien heads is us saying we really believe in the equality of all people and all beings. So when people say they don’t really understand, I feel like that’s OK, it is maybe not for everybody.
“It is only for, like, six minutes. It allows us to go even more free and that is the whole reason we exist these days — to be free and to encourage others to be free.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Ryder is set to play an intimate gig at London’s Lafayette on September 26, in aid of War Child for National Album Day.
The 2022 ‘Eurovision’ runner-up – who has just announced his debut studio album, ‘There’s Nothing But Space, Man!’, will be released on November 18 – will play to a small crowd to raise funds for the non-profit that supports children affected by conflict.
The show comes ahead of National Album Day on October 15.
Sam, who is a NAD Ambassador, said: “With my debut LP out in November, I couldn’t be more thrilled to launch National Album Day with this exclusive concert to celebrate the journey of creating an album. I’ll be performing brand new songs and some special favourites, and in the process we hope to raise much-needed funds for War Child and for children affected by conflict, not least in Ukraine. Can’t wait to see you there and sing our heads off!”
The annual celebration of the album format has the theme of Debut Albums this year.
As well as the ‘Space Man’ hitmaker, Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand, rap star KSI, Liverpool’s rising rock outfit The Mysterines, and English indie-folk trio The Staves have been chosen as this year’s Ambassadors.
National Album Day is presented in association with official audio partner Bowers and Wilkins and official broadcast partner BBC Sounds.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pixies have shared their first song penned by guitarist Joey Santiago.
‘Dregs Of The Wine’ is taken from the punk rock veterans’ eagerly-anticipated eighth studio album, ‘Doggerel’, which promises “new orchestrated, cinematic flourishes to their sound without losing sight of the visceral, high tension alt-rock that they’re renowned for.”
The song was a happy accident recorded in the musician’s “zombie state” after giving himself a hard time.
On how the track came to be, Joey said: “I guess I was in kind of a zombie state, just playing. After I stopped playing I put it down and went, ‘Well, that was a f****** waste of time, what a piece of s*** I am.’ I beat myself up a lot, but my girlfriend, unbeknownst to me, was recording me. She played it back to me and I go, ‘F***! Hold on a second here! This stuff is good!'”
The track name drops Van Halen and Black Foxx and is about trips to Las Vegas and drinking under the Hollywood sign.
Frontman Black Francis said it’s about: “Living in Los Angeles in the ’90s with my then-wife, hanging out with Joey and his ex-wife, lots of trips to Las Vegas, a lot of drinking, little bit drug taking, some genuine good times.”
The latest tune from the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Beneath the Eyrie’ follows the recently released singles ‘There’s A Moon On’ and ‘Vault of Heaven’.
The prolific band release ‘Doggerel’ on September 30.

OHMYGOSSIP — Gaz Coombes says performing at Taylor Hawkins’ tribute concert at Wembley Stadium was “one of the most incredible moments of my life”.
The Supergrass frontman, 46, took to the stage with music legend Nile Rodgers, 69, as part of the stacked bill of rock icons paying tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer, with the pair performing David Bowie’s ‘Modern Love’, and Gaz found the emotional evening an “overwhelming” experience.
Speaking to Sky News, he said: “It was a beautiful night.
“I sang ‘Modern Love’ with Nile Rodgers and it was just one of the most incredible moments of my life. I mean, that song means a lot to me. It was a song that was a big part of my wedding.
“To be able to sing it with Nile Rodgers at Wembley Stadium was quite something. I will never forget it. And what an amazing day for Taylor, what an incredible celebration for Taylor.
“I couldn’t imagine that it would be like that but being there on the day and seeing how it all came together, all the work that was put into it, all the love in Wembley Stadium, it was kind of overwhelming.
“I think if he was looking down, Taylor, he would kind of say, ‘Dude, what’s all the fuss!’ But he’d be like, ‘Oh my God, this is insane.'”
Taylor was a massive Supergrass fan and Foo Fighters toured with the ‘Alright’ rockers in the 90s.
The late sticksman – who died suddenly aged 50 in March – was also a Queen mega-fan, and guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor were also part of the celebration of his life.

OHMYGOSSIP — Annie Macmanus (Mac) will have the honour of announcing the winner of the 2022 Mercury Prize.
The former BBC Radio 1 DJ-turned-author – who is part of the judging panel – has been confirmed as a guest presenter at the Mercury Prize with FREE NOW Awards Show on Thursday night (08.09.22).
The overall winner of the prestigious music prize will be revealed at the star-studded ceremony at London’s Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith.
The main host for the night is ‘Desert Island Discs’ host Lauren Laverne.
Sam Fender and Wet Leg are among the performers confirmed to take to the stage.
As well as the former’s acclaimed LP ‘Seventeen Going Under’ and indie duo Wet Leg’s self-titled LP, records by Harry Styles, Little Simz, Self Esteem, Joy Crookes, Fergus McCreadie, Gwenno, Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler, Kojey Radical, Nova Twins, and Yard Act also made the shortlist.
Harry – whose LP ‘Harry’s House’ earned him his first-ever Mercury nod – is unable to perform live due to being on tour in the US, however, the ‘As It Was’ hitmaker has pre-recorded a special performance “to celebrate” his record which will be aired on the night.
Other performers include Fergus, Gwenno, Jessie and Bernard, Joy, Kojey, Simz, Nova Twins, Self Esteem, and Yard Act.
The judging panel – which includes musicians Anna Calvi, Jamie Cullum and Loyle Carner, and is chaired by Head of Music, 6 Music and Radio 2 Jeff Smith – commented on the selection for the Albums of the Year: “Getting down to 12 albums this year was not easy, simply because there were so many remarkable ones to choose from. That serves as proof that British and Irish music thrives during unsettled periods in history, with the albums chosen covering everything from imaginative pop to pioneering rap to Cornish language folk-rock. We feel that these 12 amazing albums each have something to say artistically and socially, all in their own unique, enriching ways. Now comes the really hard part… choosing only one overall winner.”
The Prize’s broadcast partner, BBC Music, will be providing coverage of the event across BBC TV, BBC Radio 6 Music, online and social media.
Digital partner Amazon Music will provide playlists and programming from now until the Awards Show.
The 2021 Mercury Prize was awarded to Arlo Parks for her much-lauded debut studio album ‘Collapsed in Sunbeams’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Unseen Led Zeppelin footage from the band’s legendary LA Forum show has been made available for the first time.
The ‘Whole Lotta Love’ rockers’ performance at the iconic venue on September 4, 1970 has gone down as one of their most famous shows, and the ‘Live on Blueberry Hill’ LP is regarded as one of the first rock bootlegs.
Until this week, footage from the show hadn’t been seen but fan Eddie Vincent has finally shared seven minutes of his recording on YouTube after 52 years.
In an introduction to his video, Eddie – who snuck a Kodak Brownie 8mm camera into the venue to capture some material – said: “When my friends and I got to the Forum, I tucked it under my jacket.
“There weren’t any problems at the door back in those days. The seats were excellent, first row behind the stage.
“We were behind John Bonham’s gong, so you couldn’t really see him much, but the sound was great.”
Although the fan kept the camera – which could only film for 30 seconds at a time – off for most of the gig, he did get snippets of a number of songs, including ‘Whole Lotta Love’, ‘Thank You’ and ‘What Is And What Should Never Be’.
Eddie added: “During the acoustic set, John ducked behind the gong to grab a cigarette and very graciously acknowledged our slavish praise.
“He even posed twice for my still camera, and both times the flash failed to go off. Those pictures came out worthless, unfortunately. But a few others, along with that 8 mm film, survived.”
He recently found his old footage and sent it to another Zeppelin fan, John Waters, who put it with audio from ‘Live on Blueberry Hill’ and uploaded it to YouTube.
He told Classic Rock magazine: “The music needs to be out there. I know a lot of collectors and traders that don’t give their stuff away, and that’s a shame to me.
“Music’s to be shared, and today you need it to get away from the crazy world.
“And if this film brings a lot of people happiness, hey, we did a good job.”

The ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker flew into London from her home in Australia last week to secretly meet with executives from her label BMG so they could hear the finished tracks and plan the next steps for the record , which is expected to be released next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Everything is being treated as top secret. Most people at the label didn’t even know she was coming.
“She quietly flew into London to visit bosses at BMG.
“They were really impressed and talks moved on to how they will roll it out.
“Details are being ironed out but the album is scheduled to drop in the first half of 2023.”
BMG boss Alistair Norbury confirmed last month that Kylie would be bringing out the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Disco’ in 2023.
He said: “So next year we’ll start our third album with Kylie, and we only expected to do one. So the roster is building to a size where it is almost self-sustaining. We already know our first Q1 and Q2 releases for next year.”
It is believed the 54-year-old star has teamed up with a number of “exciting” artists for the record, including songwriter Kamille.
A source said in July: “Kylie didn’t get a chance to tour her last album because of COVID restrictions, but she’s thrown herself back into writing music.
“She really loves being in the studio and is spending this summer working on her next record with some really exciting collaborators like [the songwriter] Kamille.
“‘Disco’ proved that she still has what it takes to make a massively successful pop album and people are queuing up to work with her.
“There are major plans in the pipeline and she can’t wait to have another record out and to be back on the road.”
While Kylie is anxious to get back on tour, she wants to make sure she has new music for her fans before that happens.
The insider added: “It has been more than three years since her ‘Golden’ tour and she is itching to perform.
“But that won’t happen now until this new album is out. It’s going to be well worth the wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd is set to resume his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ tour later this month.
The ‘Earned It’ hitmaker – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – had to abruptly cancel his Los Angeles show at SoFi Stadium just four songs in due to vocal issues, but now he’s ready to hit the road again with a double header in Toronto, Canada on September 22 and 23.
He wrote on Instagram: “Doctors says my voice is safe and with rest I’ll be solid and able to bring the show my TORONTO fans are waiting for.
“LA date is being worked out soon. Thank you SO much for all the love and understand that’s come my way. I love you all so much…”
On Saturday (03.09.22), The Weeknd left the stage after a few songs before returning to address the 70,000 fans in attendance.
Met with loud boos from fans who had packed the arena, he said: “I can’t give you the concert I want to give you. I’m going to make sure everyone’s good, gets your money back, and I’ll do a show real soon for you guys, but I wanted to come out and personally apologise and not tweet it or Instagram it.
“I wanted you guys to know that I can’t give you what I want to give you. I apologise. I’m so sorry.
“You know how much this kills me. I love you. Thank you so much.”
Later in the evening, he took to social media to again apologise.
He said on an Instagram story: “My voice went out during the first song and I’m devastated. Felt it go and my heart dropped. My deepest apologies to my fans here. I promise I’ll make it up to you with a new date.”
The Weeknd’s tour has already run into problems, starting when he pushed it back in January to play more stadiums after it was twice postponed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
When it eventually started in July, the opening gig in Toronto was postponed due a wireless network outage.

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian Johnson will release his autobiography next month.
The AC/DC frontman’s book – which is titled ‘The Lives of Brian’ and was first announced in April 2021 – is said to be a “riotous, lovable memoir packed with outrageous stories” from the ‘Black In Black’ rocker’s life.
In a statement, he said: “I’ve had some long nights and some great nights, bad days and a lot of good ones.
“Now I’ve gone and written a bloody book about it… ‘The Lives of Brian’ is coming this October.”
The autobiography will be published by Penguin Books with an initial UK release on October 13, followed by the US on October 25.
It will start with his life growing up in Dunston, Tyne and Wear with the town emerging “from the shadow of the Second World War” before he saw Little Richard performing on the BBC, which inspired the choir boy and sea scout to be a singer.
The synopsis continues: “For over a decade he tried to make his mark with a succession of bands. He appeared frequently on TV and toured Europe and Australia with Geordie, yet real success slipped out of reach.
“Brian had a family to support and a mortgage to pay, so was forced to take a succession of jobs eventually leading to him running his own business. But if fate had a plan for Brian… fate didn’t stand a chance.
“Out of the blue, he was invited to London for an audition for one of the world’s best up-and-coming acts.
“AC/DC were a band in crisis following the tragic death of their lead singer, Bon Scott, but with Brian on board they would record their masterpiece: Back in Black.”
After a glittering run, he was forced to quit in 2016 after being diagnosed with hearing loss, but he returned four years later on the album ‘Power Up’.
