OHMYGOSSIP — Serj Tankian is releasing his new EP through an augmented reality app.
The System of a Down frontman has announced plans for his new collection ‘Perplex Cities’ – the follow-up to 2021’s ‘Elasticity’ – as he looks to drop a new track each week via the Arloopa app.
Starting on Monday (19.09.22), Serj will release a new song with the musician “appearing in the same space as the listener-viewer to explain the music and listen along”.
In a statement, he said: “I’m always trying to create new and interesting ways to connect with people via my music.
“We made some amazing videos for the last EP ‘Elasticity’, so I wanted to try something different for ‘Perplex Cities’.
“I love the idea of appearing in the room with someone listening to my music. It’s intimate, fun, and different.”
The record will feature the songs ‘Pop Imperialism’, ‘The Race’, ‘I Spoke Up’, ‘Rumi Loves His Cares’ and ‘Forgive Me Father’.
On October 21, the EP will be released in its entirety on streaming services via the singer’s Serjical Strike label.
He teased: “[‘Perplex Cities’] is a completely different sound than what I’ve done before. “More electronic, subtle and deeper in terms of its layers of presentation musically. ‘Perplex Cities’ gives off an aura that is unique and unlike my previous releases.”
Meanwhile, the most recent System of a Down tracks – ‘Protect the Land’ and ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’ – were released in 2020, with no plans to record a new album.
He previously explained: “We still have something to give to the world, and when you put something out that actually makes an impact, you’re, like, ‘Why aren’t we doing this all the time?’
“And then I go down the rabbit hole of frustration and anger. I’m a sensitive person, so I can’t just hold this stuff in — it has to come out one way or the other.
“And it takes me a long time to deal with it and to cope with it because I also am realistic in that life is finite; you only have a certain amount of time. And here we are.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey plans to release a new version of her alt-rock album.
The ‘Fantasy’ singer secretly recorded ‘Someone’s Ugly Daughter’ under the moniker Chick in the late 1990s, but her record company had reservations and ultimately released a re-recorded version with her collaborator Clarissa Dane on lead vocals.
However, Mariah has tracked down the original version of the record and has plans to let fans hear it in some form.
She said: “[It] will become something we should hear, but also, I’m working on a version where there will be another artist working with me…. Possibly something built around the album…
“This was my outlet and nobody knew about it. I would just write these things. I’d say, ‘Can you play [sings guitar part] to the guitar player who happened to be there while we’re working on records like ‘Always Be My Baby’ and ‘One Sweet Day’ and eventually ‘Fantasy’ and whatever from that era.
“It was like, ‘Let me just do this.’ Because after the session, why not? There’s energy. And we were like working for whatever, 15, 16 hours on scrutinising stuff.
“And then we just made this record at the same time. I would write the lyrics, go and sing it. There was a fear [from the record company] because some of the lyrical content was not what people were [expecting]. I honestly wanted to put the record out back then under the same pseudonym and just let them discover that it’s me, but that idea was kind of stomped and squashed. So Clarissa came in.
“And yeah, there were a lot of big records that were in that genre, that grunge moment… And of course there was the Courtney Love era of Hole and all that going on at the time. I even did the artwork! The artwork for the album was like the dead roach and some lipstick.”
At the time, the 53-year-old singer was in an unhappy marriage to record company boss Tommy Mottola and working on the album gave her some “freedom”.
Speaking on the ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’ podcast, she said: “I had no freedom during that time. That was my freedom. I would drive around with my assistant with the top down in upstate New York and be screaming the lyrics to these songs that nobody else knew. It was my release and it was just fun. And I started out like, ‘Oh, this is just for laughs, whatever,’ like we’re having fun. But then I was like, ‘No, this is me screaming. This is literally what I’m going through.’”

OHMYGOSSIP — GAYLE has cancelled her 19-date North American tour so she can learn “how to be an adult”.
The ‘abcdefu’ hitmaker was due to kick off the ‘Avoiding College’ run on October 8 in Oklahoma, however, she has offered refunds to those with tickets as she doesn’t feel she is mentally prepared for what a full tour entails.
The 18-year-old pop star is still set to appear at a number of festivals.
In a statement on her Instagram Story, she said: “Hey everyone, I am cancelling my tour that starts next month. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets. It really does mean the world to me. You’ll get a refund and I hope to see you at these shows next year.”

And she teased she’s got new music in the pipeline.
GAYLE added: “I love it so much and I’m trying to do it the best way I can. I’ll still be playing the festivals and working on new music.”
The American star has previously received support from fellow teenage pop star Olivia Rodrigo, 19.
She said last year: “Olivia [Rodrigo] DM’d me, which is crazy – I thought it was a fan account at first! She sent a super sweet message, where she was like, ‘Congrats on your success, girl. You’re killing it.’
“It meant a lot to me because we are both young women making pop music, so we are going to get compared a lot. On social media, people like to pit artists against each other, so it is really great to share these moments with other artists. It’s almost like saying, ‘Hey, I’m successful, and I’m acknowledging the fact that you’re successful too’. We can both be in this space without having to compete against each other or bring each other down.”
GAYLE’s tour cancellation comes after a number of artists have postponed tours recently due to their mental health, including Sam Fender and Shawn Mendes.

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams would love to play Glastonbury’s legends slot.
The former Take That star played the world-famous festival in Somerset in 1998, and as he celebrates 25 years as a solo artist, the ‘Rock DJ’ hitmaker says returning to play the Pyramid Stage on Sunday afternoon next year would be a huge thrill.
Asked if he’d like to play the tea time slot reserved for music royalty, he replied: “Yeah, that’d be cool. Actually, I’d like to do that. I’d like another go round on that stage and feel that audience and get the chance to do it.”
Melanie C has repeatedly said the Spice Girls would like to play the Worthy Farm extravaganza.
Robbie commented: “The Spice Girls trumps a Robbie Williams so maybe I’ll have to wait”.
The 48-year-old pop star said it would be a “big deal” to perform at the “epicentre of the music world”.
He said: “It is the epicentre of the music world for that weekend. Everybody’s watching, everybody’s got their eyes on it.
“And that kind of thing doesn’t exist these days because music on TV has died a death and music being a potent, viable thing that gets you to sit down on a Thursday night at seven o’clock for a half an hour now doesn’t exist.
“So yeah, it’s a big deal.”
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker – who is one of the biggest-selling artists of all time and has just overtaken Elvis Presley’s record for the solo artist with the most UK number one albums – also admitted he’s grateful that he’s managed to keep his career moving “forward” because being labelled a “has been” would bruise his “brittle ego”.
Speaking on ‘BBC Breakfast’, Robbie – who has just released the chart-topping orchestral greatest hits collection, ‘XXV’ – said: “My big feeling is, my best years professionally could have been from when I was 16 to 21 when I was in Take That.
“I know how brittle my ego is and I know how fragile I am as a human being and to be a has-been … or whatever it was that would have happened to me after Take That, I’m incredibly grateful that the ship still goes forward. That’s it.

OHMYGOSSIP — Chad Kroeger says his second name has been mispronounced for years.
The Nickelback frontman has had people say Kroeger wrong so many times he’s not bothered by it, but he confirmed it should be said like the horror villain Freddy Krueger.
He told Loudwire: “It’s [Kroo-ger], don’t trust the internet.
“If I just stop and go, ‘Actually, it’s Kroo-ger,’ I’m gonna look like such a d***. So I’m just like whatever, I don’t care.”
Alice In Chains‘ Jerry Cantrell once corrected an interviewer’s pronunciation of his name.
Canadian Chad, 47, recalled: “I sort of looked over at Jerry, and he goes, ‘It’s your name, dude. That is your last name. Tell that dude across there how to say it properly so that he stops saying it wrong into that microphone and misinforming people. That is your last name, brother.’ And I was like, ‘Wow you really care about this s***!’”
The ‘How You Remind Me’ rockers are gearing up to release their 10th studio album, ‘Get Rollin”, in November.

As well as the Vegas residency, the 57-year-old country pop star has recently been promoting her Netflix documentary ‘Not Just a Girl’ – which follows her tumultuous personal life and stellar worldwide career – and she is also set to be a judge on the UK show ‘Starstruck’.
The ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman’ hitmaker is also said to be planning a stadium tour of Britain to celebrate her 30-year career.
Shania will reportedly play a string of arena shows in 2023 after her long-running Las Vegas residency.
Her tour will include multiple nights at London’s The O2 Arena as well as shows in Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham, according to The Sun.
It will be her first performances in the UK in five years and the gigs are set to coincide with an album of new music 25 years after the release of her record-breaking ‘Come on Over’ album, which sold 40 million copies and is the best-selling record by a solo female artist.
A source told the newspaper in August: “The tour is going to be massive. After 30 years, Shania is still one of the best performers around and she puts everything into her live shows.
“She has had stellar reviews this year of her Las Vegas residency but this tour will be a new hit-packed concert with new songs mixed in.
“Fans can expect an announcement in the next few weeks.
“Shania has spent the last few years hunkered down in the studio working on a follow-up to 2017’s Now and it is ready to go, so it won’t be long until there’s new music out there.”
Mum-of-one Shania last played in Britain in 2018 and has been performing at Zappos Theatre in Vegas for almost two years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rolling Stones’ longtime keyboardist Chuck Leavell says not a day goes by that they don’t think of the late Charlie Watts.
The legendary group’s drummer died aged 80 on August 24, 2021, and Sir Mick Jagger, 79, Keith Richards, 78, Ronnie Wood, 75, and even replacement sticksman Steve Jordan, 65, are still devastated by the loss but continue to honour his memory.
Speaking to Goldmine magazine to reflect on the ‘Satisfaction’ hitmakers’ 60th anniversary and the changes they’ve gone through, Chuck said: “Well, the obvious is the loss of Charlie.
“It still stings, and we all think of him all the time.
“Steve Jordan as well, who is doing a fine job for the band.”
Chuck – who has served as the principal touring keyboardist and musical director of The Rolling Stones since 1982 – says Charlie would have wanted his bandmates to continue his legacy by continuing to perform for fans.
He said: “It was so sad and tragic to lose Charlie last year, but he would never want to be the reason the band would stop, so we honour him in part by carrying on.”
And the ‘Paint it Black’ rockers plan to keep rocking until they can no longer play at this “level” and until it’s physically impossible.
The 70-year-old musician added: “How much longer can it go on?
“I don’t think any of us know, really.
“I say that as long as it makes sense, as long as we are able to perform at this level, as long as we stay healthy, as long as the fans will come.
“One thing for sure is that none of us have lost the desire or passion for doing this.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has seemingly confirmed Jack Antonoff has worked on her new album.
The ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ singer announced last month she will release ‘Midnights’, her 10th studio LP, in October but details about the 13-track record have largely been kept hidden until now, including who she has collaborated with on the record.
However, a new behind-the-scenes video about the making of the album shared by the 32-year-old singer featured a clip of her and Jack – who she has worked with on her most recent five albums, including the re-recorded versions of ‘Fearless’ and ‘Red’ – working together at the piano.
There will be several different vinyl releases of the record, and the ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker revealed earlier this week that they all come together to make a clock face.
Taylor previously explained the album tells the story of 13 sleepless nights.
Alongside a picture of herself sitting with her head in her hands Taylor wrote on Instagram in August: “We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back.
“We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.
This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.
“For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll meet ourselves.”
Taylor concluded: “Midnights’, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”
The post revealed there will be an A and B side with all the tracks titled by their number from one to 13.
‘Midnights’ is the follow-up to the ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker’s 2020 sister records ‘Folklore’ and ‘evermore’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Louis Tomlinson insisted it “won’t be the end” if his new songs don’t get played on the radio.
The former One Direction singer has been left perplexed that the exposure his songs receive don’t reflect his huge fan base but he’s not too concerned if the tracks from his upcoming LP ‘Faith in the Future’ isn’t a “commercial success” so long as he can keep touring and connecting with people that way.
He said: “Obviously my experience in One Direction is the pinnacle. We got played on radio all the time but my last album didn’t. Not really.
“To be fair, there wasn’t really a song that would fit that well on radio. But what I find interesting is that I’m lucky enough to have the ability to tour globally, but I might not get the support I need on radio. That feels like a slight contradiction to me.”.
Of his new album, he added: “Listen, I would love some commercial success on this record, don’t get me wrong.
“Will it get played on radio? I have no idea. But if it doesn’t it won’t be the end…
“I love my tour bus, I love my fans, I love travelling the world.”
While some artists struggle with life on the road, it’s something which Louis embraces and the 30-year-old singer believes the key to being comfortable with spending months away from home is to avoid hotel rooms and sleep on the tour bus.
He told the BBC: “Eventually, you lose the feeling of home [in a hotel].
“I’m not one of those people who demands a master bedroom at the back of the bus.
“As if I’m going to climb into my double bed and say goodnight to the band as they crawl into tiny bunks. No.
“My bunk is like all of the others. And it’s the best night’s sleep you can get. Once you’ve shut that curtain and all the lights are off, it’s pitch black and the noise of the engine just lulls you to sleep. It’s dead nice, man.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C says there’s no escaping the Spice Girls being “caricatures” of their alter egos.
Sporty Spice – who is joined by Ginger (Geri Horner), Scary (Mel B), Baby (Emma Bunton), and Posh (Victoria Beckham) in the iconic 90s girl group – admits she and her bandmates are “d********” because they wear the same clothes and acted just like their respective personas.
Speaking to heat magazine, she said: “When we were rehearsing for the [reunion] tour in 2019 [sans Posh], there were just moments when – whether it’s our behaviour, or what we were wearing – when we went, ‘We’re just d********.’
“Because Mel B will be in leopard print, and I’ll be in me trackies.
“Even just the way we behave – we are caricatures of our nicknames – there’s not getting away from it.
“If anyone ever doubted it or felt that it was a marketing idea, if you spent any time with us, you’d be like, ‘No, they literally are what they say on the tin.'”
While this rings true for the reunited Spice Girls, Melanie previously admitted Victoria was the only one who wasn’t suited for her Posh Spice nickname.
The ‘Viva Forever’ hitmakers were given the nicknames on the back of a Top Of The Pops magazine story in 1996, but Mel believes the now-fashion designer’s showbiz moniker was the least appropriate.
She said: “That is probably the one which rings the least true.”
On the other hand, she claimed that Mel B’s Scary nickname was the most appropriate.
She explained: “Scary makes sense. She is petrifying. I remember at times being on tour, and I am sure everyone has people in their lives when they hear their footsteps coming down the corridor you cower – that is how scary she can be. I love her.”
She admitted, too, that Emma’s Baby nickname was similarly accurate on account of her being the youngest member of the record-breaking band.
She said: “She is the youngest, and she will always be the youngest and the baby. It is quite nice.”
By contrast, she claimed that Geri’s name Ginger has become increasingly less relevant over time.
Melanie said: “She is not the bright ginger she was back in the day, there is definitely some red tones.”
And in regards to her own nickname, the ‘Who I Am’ hitmaker admitted it has always been something she has taken as a compliment.
The DJ – whose real name is Melanie Chisholm – shared: “Obviously one of the great things is that we had our individuality and it appealed to so many different kinds of girls. But my nickname came more from the way I dressed.
“It was just a silly thing in the front of a magazine, and I don’t suppose that the person who thought it up knew it would stick. In America, they didn’t know our names.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Puth says his latest album is his most “personal” work so far.
The 30-year-old singer is set to release his third record ‘Charlie’ in October 2022 and admitted that although it is a “cliche, the album is closest to his heart because of how much of his “personality” he has put into it.
He said: “It may be a bit of a cliche for an artist to sit on this white couch and be like ‘Oh this is my most personal work’ but for me it is for be because I’ve never had an entire body of work that was my personality with some melody attached to it.”
The ‘Attention’ hitmaker – who is currently thought to be single but previously dated the likes of model Charlotte Lawrence and pop star Selena Gomez – can be seen posing against a white backdrop with music notes behind him and explained that the artwork “speaks for itself.”
He told Billboard News: “I mean, the album cover speaks for itself too. All of those little thoughts and coming out of my head and the notes. There’s a song called ‘Smells Like Me’ and there’s a song called ‘There’s a First Time For Everything’ and I want your brain to go into a million places when you read these titles but I also want people to be familiar with them like they’ve heard them before because they have heard them before.
“This whole album is produced by me, I wrote it with a very, very small group of people.”
‘Charlie’ is set for release on October 7.

OHMYGOSSIP — Post Malone injured his ribs after crashing through a hole in the stage at his St. Louis concert over the weekend.
The US megastar was performing his hit song ‘Circles’ at the city’s Enterprise Center when he tripped and fell through the gap where his guitars were stored underneath before he swiftly pulled himself back up.
Despite appearing to be in excruciating pain, after being seen to by paramedics, he came out on stage again around 10 to 15 minutes later to wrap the set, with six songs scrapped from the setlist.
The 27-year-old musician vowed to return to St. Louis to play a two-hour set to make it up to his fans.
In a video message, he said: “Next time I’m around this way, we’re gonna do a two-hour show for you to make up for the couple songs that we missed.”
Recalling how he took a tumble, he said: “Whenever we do the acoustic part of the show, the guitars on the guitar stand goes down and there’s this big a** hole, so I go around there and turn the corner and bust my a**. It winded me pretty good, it got me pretty good.”
The ‘I Fall Apart’ star has been put on pain relief and reassured his fans he will be fit enough to continue his ‘Twelve Carat Tour’, which resumes in Toronto, Canada on Tuesday (20.09.22).
He added: “They gave me some pain meds and everything so we can keep kicking a** on the tour.”
Meanwhile, Post recently admitted he has “messed up” his voice by smoking up to 80 cigarettes a day.
He explained how that was “probably” the most he’s ever consumed in a day, but he typically smokes half that amount, even though he knows it’s bad for him.
Asked about his habit on the ‘Full Send’ podcast, he said: “On a really terrible day — there’s a very fine line between a terrible day and a good day… 40 to 45.
“By the time I ask Ben for that second pack I’m like, ‘Alright dude, chill out,’ you know. But by the time I open that third pack I’m like, ‘I’m a total piece of s*** and I need to go to sleep.’…
“It definitely has [messed up my voice], but I mean, Johnny Cash smoked his whole life. He sounded cool, you know?”
The ‘One Right Now’ hitmaker has a “special zone” where he goes to “rip cigs” and play games, having broken the habit of smoking in bed.
He said: “I used to [smoke in my bed] but not really anymore. Now I have a special zone that has my PC in it and my ‘Magic: The Gathering’ s***, so I just go down there and f****** rip cigs and build decks and die in ‘Apex Legends’.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Post admitted he has rekindled his passion for music, having gone through a period of questioning his own motives.
He said: “What you love to do, at a certain point, it becomes your job. And then it gets very hard to say, ‘am I actually doing this for me and my fans or am I doing this to make a living?’
“I got to a point where I was like, I love making music. This is what I’m supposed to do. This is what makes me happy.”

The ‘Potion’ singer has never felt more “in control” of a musical project before.
She said: “As I’m writing my new album, I feel even more liberated in a completely different way.
“And even more in control than I thought.”
Asked what liberation means to her, she told Vogue Australia: “Freedom, especially as a woman, means to be able to take things into your own hands, to have control over the things that you believe in.
“To really have a voice.”
Dua recently admitted she was “not afraid to talk about things” on her “grown-up” third album.
The ‘Levitating’ hitmaker, 27, says her follow-up to 2020’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ is her most mature record to date, and she doesn’t hold back when speaking up on what matters to her.
She said: “I’ve definitely grown up. Overall, whether it’s sonically or in terms of the themes, I’ve matured.
“It’s like I’m coming into my power and not afraid to talk about things.
“It’s about understanding what I want.”
In March, the pop star revealed the record was “50 per cent done”.
The Grammy winner said she was happy with the progress she’s made and feels “very excited” about some of the songs she’s already recorded for the LP.
Speaking to Sir Elton John on her ‘Service 95’ podcast – which returns on September 24, with special guest Monica Lewinsky – she said: “It’s starting to feel good.
“It’s starting to take shape. I’m very excited about some of the new songs so it’s always exciting to look forward towards something.”
Dua’s update came just two months after she said her third album was “still in baby form” and she was “in no rush” to debut new material.
However, she had a firm “vision” for the record and had already chosen a title.
She said: “It has a vision. It has a name, I think—for now. It’s just been fun experimenting. I’m always going to make pop music, but it has its own unique sound, which is exciting and something that feels like a movement from ‘Future Nostalgia’.
“In all honesty, it’s probably not what my fans want to hear – but I’m in no rush to release a new album.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey has a number of projects in the pipeline, including a “themed album”.
The ‘Hero’ hitmaker has revealed she’s been working on lots of music, including brand new tunes for what looks set to be either a “scripted series or documentary”.
Speaking on the ‘Rolling Stone Music Now’ podcast, she spilled: “It’s about three or four different things. One is a project that I’m almost finished with that I was doing some background vocal tweaks on. One is (new) songs that could be for the scripted series or could be for a documentary. And then, there’s a themed album.
“It’s something that people have been asking me to do for years, but it’s not done in the traditional sense. It’s not done yet, but I’m really excited about it. I’m working (on that album) with some very eclectic, newer artists, as well as some legendary folks.”
The 53-year-old pop icon also admitted it did her voice good to have a rest amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as it had been “damaged” and started sounding “hoarse”.
She said: “Travelling and getting hoarse and doing this and doing that did damage my voice for a minute.
“But having that moment to kind of get it back to a place where I felt really good about it was its own gift. I mean, none of us were thrilled to be dealing with Covid, but that did give me a chance to get back into the studio and just strictly focus on music.”
Last week, the Grammy winner celebrated the 25th anniversary of her seminal 1997 LP ‘Butterfly’.
And she’s been working on the new recordings at her Butterfly Lounge studios.

The Spice Girl – who is known as Sporty Spice in the 90s girl group – has been preoccupied with the writing and promoting of her memoir ‘Who I Am’, and can’t wait to get back to work on the follow-up to her 2020 self-titled LP.
Speaking to the October 2022 issue of Retro Pop magazine, she said: “It’s had to take a bit of a backseat because writing and promoting the book has been a lot more work than I anticipated. But I’ve done some sessions, there are some new songs and I’ve begun the process for the next album. Back in the day there was this cycle of writing, recording, promoting, touring. Technology has changed so much that now it feels like you can do everything at the same time. And music is my passion. Doing a book has been fun but if it keeps me away from music for too long I’m gonna get a bit bitter about it.”
The 48-year-old pop star put pen to paper to document both the highs and “difficult lows” of fame for ‘Who I Am’, which shares a name with her 2020 solo single about embracing being both Melanie Chisholm and her alter ego Sporty.
The ‘Northern Star’ hitmaker details the “shaming and bullying” she has faced and her battles with her body image and mental health.
She said in a press release about the book: “It’s taken a long time to feel ready to tell my story. The past few years have given me an opportunity to reflect on the incredible career I’ve had and the huge obstacles I’ve managed to overcome. I’ve really enjoyed going back and reminding myself of the wonderful journey life has been so far. I’m very excited to share my experiences with you all.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sixx says Mötley Crüe have been “having a blast” playing stadiums after retiring from touring in 2015.
The glam metal band quit the road seven years ago after their ‘The End Tour’ before reuniting three years later.
And the 63-year-old bassist admits he’s “so grateful” to be given a second chance after they played at the biggest venues across North America as part of ‘The Stadium Tour’, which wrapped in Las Vegas on September 9.
He said: “It’s been unbelievable.
“I’m so grateful to be doing this, and it started, like, three years ago when the movie came out — two and a half years ago. We kind of, we broke up the band. We just decided to quit touring. We’ve been doing it for, god, 35 years at that point.”
He went on: “Tommy does other stuff, and I do other stuff, and I remember getting the phone call from management, and I was, like, ‘No.’
“And they go, ‘You haven’t even heard what I have to say.'”
Drummer Tommy, 59, said: “We were done. We were done.”
The ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ rockers had signed a legal agreement promising not to perform as Mötley Crüe after 2015, and they felt bad going back on their word when they reunited in 2018.
Nikki continued: “And we were friends, and we were fine and everything’s good.
“We’re just like, ‘No, it’s a lot of work.’ When you see the show out there, you’re gonna go, ‘Wow.’ I mean, it’s years of work putting it together, and then they were like, ‘No, not eight arenas, eight stadiums,’ and I was like, ‘Let me call Tommy.’
“I was like, ‘Hey, dude, they’re talking about us touring,’ and he’s like, ‘No.’ Because we wanted to be — stand by what we said, and then it was 16 and 36, which we just entered our 36th stadium, and there’s, what, another 120 next year and the year after that, so, we’re grateful we said yes.”
Nikki admitted: “We’re having a blast.”
Tommy told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “How can you say no to stadiums?”
Nikki concluded: “I mean, we’re all having a blast, everyone’s just having a good time …it’s amazing to be 41 years together? I mean, sometimes it’s just like, ‘What?’ Stepping into some sacred territory there.”
And the band – also comprising frontman Vince Neil, 61, and guitarist Mick Mars, 71 – are not done yet, with more shows planned and a potential third Las Vegas residency.
