OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Aguilera is releasing a 20th anniversary edition of ‘Stripped’.
The 41-year-old pop princess is dropping a special edition of her smash hit fourth studio album – which sold 12 million copies internationally – to mark its two decades on Friday (21.10.2022).
The commemorative digital celebration – which will be available in Dolby Atmos for the first time ever – will include fresh cover art and two bonus tracks. A vinyl edition will make its way into the world on 3 March 2023 and is available for pre-order now.
The 2002 LP- which spawned many of Christina’s biggest songs such as ‘Dirrty’, ‘Fighter’ and ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’ and is certified five times Platinum – will be marked with a reimagined music video to her empowerment anthem ‘Beautiful’ by award-winning director Fiona Jane Burgess
The video – which will arrive on the Grammy winner’s official YouTube channel on Wednesday (19.10.2022) – will spread the self-love anthem’s message via young people who have experienced the pressures of social media.
Last week, Christina – who is mother to 14-year-old son Max with her ex Jordan Bratman and eight-year-old daughter Summer Rain her fiance Matthew Rutler – first teased the video to ‘Beautiful (2022 Version)’ “in celebration” of World Mental Health Day.

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Simz has won the 2022 Mercury Prize.
The 28-year-old musician’s album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ saw off competition from the likes of Sam Fender, Harry Styles and Wet Leg to be named the winner at this year’s ceremony, which took place at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London on Tuesday (18.10.22) evening and was hosted by Lauren Laverne.
Simz was announced as the winner by Jamz Supernova and was given a trophy and a cheque for £25,000 before closing out the evening’s celebrations.
She was initially speechless when she took to the stage but then said: “Wow. I’m very very overwhelmed, I’m very grateful.
“Glory to God – God thank you so much; to my family over here, my loved ones right here.
“I wanna say a huge thank you to the Mercury for this incredible, incredible prize. I wanna say a thank you to my brother and close collaborator Inflo – Flo [has] known me since I was so young, he’s stuck by me, we created this album together.
“There was times in the studio I didn’t know if I was gonna finish this record, I was going through all the emotions … he stuck by me.”
She then praised the other nominees.
She added: “All of you guys are incredible, we all made incredible albums, we all change people’s lives with our music and that’s the most important thing, so this is for us really, you know what I’m saying?”
The record was chosen for being “accomplished and complex yet entirely accessible”.
The judging panel said: “In a year that has, to put it mildly, presented rather a lot of challenges, British and Irish music has thrived more than ever. That made it extremely hard for the judges to choose an overall winner from the 12 ‘Albums of the Year’ on the 2022 Mercury Prize with FREE NOW shortlist, simply because all of them had so much to offer.
“When it came down to it, the judges were so impressed by ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ by Little Simz that everyone could get behind it. This accomplished and complex yet entirely accessible album is the work of someone striving constantly to push herself.
“It deals with themes both personal and political while putting them against music that is as sophisticated as it is varied. The Mercury Prize is all about shining a light on albums of lasting value and real artistry. ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ has both.’”
Of the 12 shortlisted artists, 11 of them – including Fergus McCreadie, Gwenno, Jessie Buckley and Bernard Butler, Joy Crookes, Kojey Radical,Nova Twins, Self Esteem, and Yard Act – performed live at the ceremony, while a filmed performance was shown to celebrate Harry’s nomination as he is currently in the US on tour.
The ceremony was originally due to take place on 8 September but was postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth.

OHMYGOSSIP — My Chemical Romance played the rarest song in their catalogue to wrap up their Kia Forum residency.
The ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ hitmakers played their fifth and final show of their run at the venue in Inglewood, California this week and treated fans to only the second performance ever of 2003 rarity ‘Sister To Sleep’ early in the gig.
On Monday night (17.10.22), MCR played the song with difference lyrics to original version, including a totally new second verse.
The track was initially written during sessions for the band’s breakthrough second album ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’, which was released in 2004.
The previous year, they performed the track for the first time at a club show in New York City, while a low quality bootleg from the night was the only known recording to exist.
While they never released a studio recording, it does exist and a snippet was leaked on Tumblr shortly after their split in 2013.
Meanwhile, back in 2003 frontman Gerard Way revealed that the track was inspired by DC Comics character The Sandman.
He explained: “It’s about sleep deprivation, being in an institute for that – and not being able to sleep.
“And then people trying to make you sleep, but if you go to sleep, you’re going to die – and you know it, so you’re trying not to.”
My Chem included more treats for fans in the set earlier this week, including the first rendition of ‘SING’ – taken from their most recent album ‘Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys’ – since 2012.
They also performed ‘Fake Your Death’ – which was the final song they released after calling it quits before their current comeback – from the ‘May Death Never Stop You’ compilation, and it marked the first time ever the song has been played live.

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz has co-written two songs on Taylor Swift’s upcoming album.
The 33-year-old singer and actress – who fronts R and B duo LOLAWOLF alongside Jimmy Giannopoulos – had a hand in penning tracks ‘Karma’ and ‘Lavender Haze’ on the 32-year-old star’s 10th studio album ‘Midnights’, which will drop on Friday (21.10.22).
Taylor co-wrote 11 of the album’s 13 songs with her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff, and Lana Del Rey for song ‘Snow on the Beach.’
The ‘Love Story’ hitmaker is the only writer credited for tune ‘Vigilante S***’.
Last month, Taylor appeared to confirm Jack had worked on her new album.
A behind-the-scenes video about the making of the album featured a clip of her and Jack – who she has worked with on her most recent five albums, including the re-recorded versions of ‘Fearless’ and ‘Red’ – working together at the piano.
There will be several different vinyl releases of the record, and the ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker previously revealed that they all come together to make a clock face.
Taylor previously explained the album tells the story of 13 sleepless nights.
Alongside a picture of herself sitting with her head in her hands Taylor wrote on Instagram in August: “We lie awake in love and fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back.
“We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake.
This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS can take part in “national-level” events while serving in the military, says the South Korean government
The ‘Dynamite’ K-pop group may be able to take to the stage while carrying out their mandated time in the army as the government hinted they will be able to participate at occasions with a “national interest”.
Moon Hong-sik, the acting spokesperson for the South Korean defence ministry said: “Our position is that we will provide an opportunity if they wish to participate when there is a national-level event for the public good or an event designed in light of the national interest.
The development comes after it was announced all seven members – Jin, 29, Suga, 29 , J-Hope, 28, RM, 28, Jimin, 27, V, 26, and Jungkook, 25 – would fulfill their full army conscription after politicians considered the chance of an exemption or alternative option as all able-bodied men in the country must perform 18 to 21 months of military service. Exemptions are given out to some athletes, classical and traditional musicians and dancers.
Their label said: “Big Hit Music has focused [on] the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that’s now,” before adding that Jin – the oldest member – would enlist first after finishing the promo for his solo single later in 2022 with the other members following after their own independent endeavours.
Big Hit Music also unveiled the plans for a 2025 reunion for the Grammy nominated group, implying that Jimin, V and Jungkook may sign up earlier than once thought.
The said: “Both the company and the members of BTS are looking forward to reconvening as a group again around 2025 following their service commitment.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher thinks there’s “no point” to an Oasis reunion.
The 55-year-old rocker says the Britpop band sells “as many records now” as they did during their 90s heyday.
While appearing on the ‘Pub Talk’ podcast this week, Noel was asked if they would ever reform, prompting him to quip: “Er, would you go on holiday with your ex-missus?”
“As funny as this sounds. Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We’re as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were. And I’m happy with it.
The Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds frontman believes “there’s no point” to getting back together as everyone is thriving – including his estranged brother Liam who sold out Knebworth this summer after their iconic 1996 shows – since they left the group behind.
Noel continued: “If we got back together there would be a circus – and there’s no point. Just leave it as it is. I’m happy. He’s [Liam Gallagher] doing his thing. He’s still selling out Knebworth. It’s like, mate, good luck to you, do you know what I mean?”
Earlier this year, Liam mused the ‘Definitely, Maybe’ band – which has sold more than 70 million albums across the world – “should never have split up” and would “love” them to get back together after their 2009 break up.
The 50-year-old singer said: “If it happens, it happens. But I’m quite happy doing [my solo career]. We should never have split up, but we did, and this is where we’re at.”
In the same interview, Liam reflected on seeing his brother as “a different person” since they last talked and it’s “like he’s been abducted”.
Earlier this month, Graham Coxon – from their musical rival Blur – mused he was keen for an Oasis reunion while discussing the prospect of a Pulp return.
The 53-year-old musician said: “That would be fun. Just need Oasis to do it. Knock those brothers’ heads together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Melanie C was once pelted by a Weetabix when she performed at the V Festival.
The Spice Girls star – whose real name is Melanie Chisholm – is confused how someone could “throw” the wheat-based breakfast cereal but recalled being the victim of one during one her solo performances in 1999 at the event which was less “pop friendly” at the time.
While speaking to Jools Holland and Jim Moir on their ‘Joyride’ podcast on Wednesday (19.10.2022), the 48-year-old singer – who is also known as Sporty Spice – said: “One of my first gigs as a solo artist was V 99, and I’d made this album, my first solo record and couldn’t wait to get out there with my band. I think I was a little bit naïve and at the time… I think V Festival became quite pop friendly through the years, but back then I think I went on after Faithless. And Manic Street Preachers were headlining so it was quite a strange line-up and I was positioned really weirdly within it. I had bottles of things thrown, and in my memory there’s even Weetabix. I don’t know how you throw it because they’re quite light, but it has definitely stuck in my memory!”
Last week, Melanie teased that she and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) were “gung go” to reunite with her fellow girl group band mates Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Geri Horner (Ginger Spice) after they hit the road in 2019 without Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), who is focusing on her eponymous high-end fashion line
She said: “That’d be the dream. It’s something we’re discussing, we’re just trying to get it all into shape.”
“Both Mel B and I are very gung ho for getting this show on the road, and I’m sure it will happen at some point. It’s just making sure it’s right for everybody at the right time.”

OHMYGOSSIP — John Frusciante is heavily influenced by 80s British music.
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers star “has a lot of memories” of listening to the Human League when he and his band – which also currently includes Anthony Kiedis, Flea and Chad Smith – were working on their 2002 LP, ‘By The Way’.
The 52-year-old guitarist told MixMag: “I have a lot of memories associated with [The Human League], especially by the time we were writing ‘By The Way’. I would blast ‘Reproduction’ to-and-from rehearsal every day. I especially love the first two albums and their early singles. And you have stuff like that all-instrumental ‘Dignity Of Labour’ EP, the basis for a lot of ambient music. Those guys were just going into the unknown!”
John also labelled himself a “huge fan of” new wave act Depeche Mode – who had an original line up of Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher, and Vince Clarke – and recalled buying all the ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ hitmakers’ records on vinyl.
He said: “I’m a huge fan of Depeche Mode, when the Red Hot Chili Peppers started writing ‘Californication’ back in ‘98, I was 28 and had just restarted my life. When I came back into the world, I was a different person and Depeche Mode became my favourite band. I bought every 12” of theirs at a place near me called Vinyl Fetish that stocked a lot of UK imports. ‘Master And Servant’ is one of the weirder ones.”
John called being the band – that he rejoined in 2019 before releasing and touring the 2022 album ‘Unlimited Love – the only “real job” he has ever had in music despite his performing as a solo artist Trickfinger, where he makes “electronic music”.
He said: “I don’t make a lot of money for my electronic music. I probably spend more on gear than I’ve ever made but I did nothing but electronic music for about 12 years before I rejoined the band [in 2019]. It’s definitely a full-time job being in the Chili Peppers. Really, the Red Hot Chili Peppers is the only real ‘job’ I’ve ever had in music.”
The rocker – whose band is gearing up to release their second album of this year ‘Return of the Dream Canteen’ – also enthused about his love of Kraftwerk.
John said: “But synth-pop: to me, that really starts with Kraftwerk. It’s a different sense of melody than regular pop music — It’s more mechanical in a sense.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has claimed that estranged brother Noel Gallagher has “blocked” him from using Oasis songs in his ‘Knebworth 22’ documentary.
The 50-year-old singer will document his return to Knebworth as a solo star earlier this summer as he performed at the Hertfordshire site 26 years on from the ‘Wonderwall’ band’s iconic shows in 1996 but says that none of the band’s classic tracks will feature in the film because of his “angry squirt” sibling.
Asked by a fan on Twitter if Oasis songs would feature, Liam replied: “No Oasis songs as the angry squirt has blocked them.
“(Noel) also blocked the Oasis (song) I sang for Taylor Hawkins tribute, he’s a horrible little man.”
Another fan replied to Liam’s tweet, saying: “(Noel) was praising u on (sic) his last interview. This is maddening. The doc will still be excellent tho.”
In reply, Liam – who has been in a public spat with Noel, 55, since the guitarist quit Oasis split in 2009 – said: “What (Noel) says and does are two different things he’s a sad little dwarf.”
Returning to the subject later on Wednesday (19.10.22), the ‘Once’ hitmaker said: “You can stop us using the songs but you can’t erase our memories shame on you Noel Gallagher.”
‘Knebworth 22’ was announced earlier this week and will be released in cinemas worldwide on November 17.
Discussing the project, Liam said: “I’m still in shock that I got to play Knebworth two nights, 26 years after I played it with Oasis. I’m still trying to get my head around it. To have played to multiple generations at the same venue so many years apart was beyond Biblical. I’m so glad that we documented it.
“Knebworth for me was and always will be a celebration of the fans as well as the music. Enjoy the film and let’s do it again in another 26 years. LG x”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa is working with Mark Ronson on her new album.
The 27-year-old singer snuck into a recording studio in New York City earlier this month to work on her eagerly-awaited third album.
And Dua – who released her last album, ‘Future Nostalgia’, in 2020 – was joined in the studio by the acclaimed record producer, according to The Sun newspaper.
Mark, 47, has worked with a host of big-name artists over the years, including the likes of Amy Winehouse, Adele, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Bruno Mars.
Whats more, he previously joined forces with Dua to record ‘Electricity’, the hit single that also featured Diplo.
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Dua gave fans an insight into what they can expect from her new album.
The London-born star admitted to feeling “even more liberated” at this stage of her career.
She shared: “As I’m writing my new album, I feel even more liberated in a completely different way. And even more in control than I thought.”
Dua revealed that she now feels more confident than ever before.
The singer thinks that her new-found confidence is reflected in her music.
She said: “As an artist, as you evolve and you practise your craft – the more you spend time really honing things – the more comfortable and confident you are. And that’s how I felt with ‘Future Nostalgia’.”
Dua has also relished the experience of touring following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The chart-topping star likened the feeling of performing in front of thousands of fans to being “invincible”.
She said: “I get to see it take on a whole new lease on life. Once I’ve sung the first line of the first song, there’s a feeling of almost being invincible, of joining forces with the music … and just having fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bjork reflects on the death of her mum in songs on her new album.
The pop star has released her first new offering in five years and she’s now revealed several of the tracks on ‘Fossora’ explore her grief over the loss of her mother Hildur in 2018 as well as her reflections during the COVID-19 pandemic when she was writing her new tracks during lockdown.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Bjork explained: “I think this is the longest it’s ever taken me to do an album. It’s almost five years and I really, really loved that because usually I’m in such a hurry. I think maybe the pandemic, like with a lot of people, allowed myself to spend more time on this. But also, life is life … and it just keeps going. My mother also passed away during this time which is something we all have to face at one point I guess, is to say goodbye to your parents. So yeah, there are two songs sort of about that.”
Bjork recored the album during a time of change as she sold her home in New York and moved back to her native Iceland and she said being at home for long periods of time helped her creativity.
She went on: “I had already started a little bit to write when the pandemic hit, and I guess I got blessed because it sort of hit exactly at the sort of time when it would have been really good to go to a desert island and not have any interruptions.
“So, I did get lucky with the timing. I got really blessed in that sense. What happened is I just got every more into whatever I was into and didn’t get distracted by having to travel or tour or anything.
“So, I actually loved it, and I don’t think … I was home for two years year without travelling once and I absolutely loved it. It was amazing.”
She added of her move: ” During the pandemic I sold my flat in Brooklyn and so all my stuff was in containers crossing the Atlantic. It was the first time in 20 years that all my belongings were in one house and then the pandemic hit, and it sort of exaggerated that feeling of ‘Yes! I’m home at last. I love it.’ I was just pretending I was a proper villager.”

The ‘Good Without You’ hitmaker believes “mums are always right” so always seeks Sue’s counsel on all her tunes.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, she said: “I love playing her the songs just to make sure she’s happy. Mums are always right.”

The 62-year-old singer has revealed he kept messing up his takes when recording his former band Spandau Ballet’s 1980 debut single because he “had too much champagne”.
Speaking to the Wired column in the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “In the blink of an eye it’s gone. I still remember recording the vocals to ‘Cut A Long Story Short’ and the mistakes that were made because I’d had too much champagne.”
Spandau Ballet became one of the biggest bands of the 1980s leading from the front of the New Romantic era, but Tony can recall feeling as though he and his bandmates – Gary Kemp, Martin Kemp, Steve Norman and John Keeble – had really “arrived” in the music industry when they performed on the iconic BBC music show ‘Top of the Pops’
He said: “Doing ‘Top of the Pops’ was just ‘Wow’. It felt like you’d arrived. Having our first number one with ‘True’ was bloody amazing, we were all about 23 and I was naked. I remember Martin Kemp and Steve Norman coming in with a bottle of champagne spraying it everywhere.”
The ‘Gold’ hitmakers eventually broke up in the ’90s and Tony admits it was a “slow disintegration” after it stopped being “fun” working together.
They did reunite in 2009 for new album ‘Once More’ and to go on a series of tours, before Tony quit the group again in 2017.
Tony said: “It was a slow disintegration, but the early and middle period, we were a fun band. Then it all started to change, people got serious. It ceased to be fun.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is releasing a a documentary film on his return to Knebworth.
‘Liam Gallagher – Knebworth 22’ will tell the story of the 50-year-old singer’s two sold out performances at the iconic English location over the Platinum Jubilee weekend to 170,000 fans in June.
The mammoth concerts came 26 years after Oasis’ legendary 1996 shows, which saw the ‘Supersonic’ band play to 250,000 people over two nights.
The documentary – directed by Toby L – traces Liam back to the site of his former band’s defining performances, including all-new interviews, behind the scenes and concert footage captured from 20 camera positions. It also contains contributions from fans, collaborators and archive footage.
Discussing the project, Liam said: “I’m still in shock that I got to play Knebworth two nights, 26 years after I played it with Oasis. I’m still trying to get my head around it. To have played to multiple generations at the same venue so many years apart was beyond Biblical. I’m so glad that we documented it. “Knebworth for me was and always will be a celebration of the fans as well as the music. Enjoy the film and let’s do it again in another 26 years. LG x”
Toby L says the film is a “love letter to live music”, especially with those shows coming in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which shut down gigs all over the globe.
He said “We wanted to add another layer to Liam Gallagher’s life and story by not just commemorating his return to such hallowed grounds as a solo artist, but also sharing the light with those that make Knebworth such a landmark location – the people. Few shows will ever hit such scale, and precious few moments such as the one experienced earlier this summer, can mean so much to so many. At a time when it’s easy to feel powerless to the weight of the world around us, hopefully this film can be a small reminder of what we’re capable of overcoming. It’s a love letter to live music and being together again.”
‘Liam Gallagher – Knebworth 22’ will be in cinemas worldwide from Thursday 17th November 2022 for a limited time with tickets going on sale at www.LGKnebworth22.com at 9am BST on Friday (21.10.22).
The theatrical event screenings will also feature two additional songs from the Knebworth performance to be played after the main feature, this content is exclusive to cinemas and will not appear on any further release of the film.
The documentary will be coming to Paramount+ globally later this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is dropping the ‘Anti-Hero’ music video on Friday (21.10.22).
The pop icon will share the first promo of her ‘Midnights’ era – her 10th studio album – on its release day and she revealed the exciting news in a video posted to her Instagram account that included her diary.
On Monday (17.10.2022), the 32-year-old singer captioned the post: “Mark your calendars! Meet the Midnights Manifest.”
Of the track, Taylor said that it was “one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written. I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before.”
She continued: “I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized… Not to sound too dark, but I just struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person – don’t feel bad for me, you don’t need to. But this song really is a real guided tour through all the things I tend to hate about myself; we all hate things about ourselves.”
The first of the ‘Midnights’ promotional events starts on Thursday (20.10.2022) with a teaser trailer dropping during Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Thursday Night Football’.
Taylor – who is a known fan of Easter Eggs and leaving hints for her devoted fans – then promised a “special very chaotic surprise” on at 3am EST, just five hours before the ‘Anti-Hero’ video. YouTube Shorts will then host the #TSAntiHeroChallenge and then lyric videos for the tracks are due out at 8pm.
Last week, the Grammy winner teased one of the hotly anticipated tracks, ‘Snow on the Beach’, a duet with Lana Del Rey, who Taylor is a “massive fan of”.
She said: “‘Snow On The Beach’ is about falling in love with someone at the same time as they’re falling in love with you, sort of in this cataclysmic, fated moment moment where you realise someone feels exactly the same way that you feel at the same moment.
“And you’re kind of looking around going, ‘Wait, is this real? Is this a dream? Is this really happening?’ Kind of like it would be if you were to see snow falling on a beach.”
