OHMYGOSSIP — The Hollywood Vampires are to tour the UK next summer.
The rock supergroup – which consists of Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith rocker Joe Perry – are to play shows across Britain in 2023 after being forced to cancel dates in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hollywood Vampires sees the trio, accompanied by guitarist Tommy Henriksen, play songs in tribute to the “great lost heroes of music” and perform original material from their two album releases.
Discussing the new tour, Alice said: “Well, it’s already been three years since the Vampires have toured because of Covid.
“Also, Johnny has his movies, Joe’s in Aerosmith and I’m in Alice Cooper, so we have to look at that whole thing and see when we can all get a month or two off where we can go out and tour. And, we are going to be doing that, next summer coming up, 2023.
“I can’t wait to get back with the guys, I really love being in that band. My band is great and wonderful, but playing with the Vampires is an entirely different situation.”
The ‘School’s Out’ rocker continued: “I don’t necessarily do any theatrics at all, I’m just the lead singer, in a band, and the band just happens to be one of the best bands around! It’ll be great to see Johnny and Joe and Buck and Chris and all the guys.
“We’ll be rocking these places, especially the UK, I can’t wait to get to the UK! Lock your doors, put garlic all around, because the Vampires are coming.”
Johnny has returned to the world of music following his high-profile court battle with ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year.
As he awaited the verdict on his US defamation case – which ultimately went in his favour – the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor performed shows in the UK with rock legend Jeff Beck.
The pair then released a joint album, called ’18’, which featured a number of classic rock covers as well as two original tracks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sheryl Crow felt “demoralised” to find out how the music industry works.
The 60-year-old singer shot to fame when she was given the chance to tour with late global superstar Michael Jackson – who died in 2009 at the age of 50 following a tumultuous life in showbusiness – in 1987 and admitted that while she found the experience “inspiring”, she felt exposed to things she didn’t necessarily want to see.
She said: “When I toured with Michael Jackson, literally six months before, I was a school teacher. By the end of 18 months, I was definitely worn out. I was seasoned. I had experienced sexual harassment and seen things I didn’t really want to see. You can’t take away the story of a young man who was damaged and sugarcoat it. Watching him do incredible moves that no one had ever seen before was definitely inspiring. I think learning how the music business work was demoralising.”
The ‘If It Makes You Happy’ hitmaker is discussing her story as part of new documentary ‘Sheryl’ and explained that while she initially had reserves about charting her life in showbusiness when first approached, it has been “liberating” to tell her own story for the first time.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’, she added: “I was approached about doing a documentary actually at the beginning of the pandemic and I absolutely did not want to do it but when it was all said and done it has been quite liberating to tell the story on my own terms. Certainly, the high highs have been GRAMMY Awards and singing with incredible artists from Eric Clapton to Pavarotti to meeting presidents.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Una Healy wants to make dance music.
The ex The Saturdays star enthused that the genre “gives” her “such a good feeling” and it is something she uses to push her fitness regime to the limit.
The 41-year-old singer old the Daily Star’s Wired Column: “I just love dance music. It gives me such a good feeling.
“When I am working out it is dance music. I have an ear for dance music. I have an ear for dance music so I would love to do something like that.”
Una has her eye on a collaboration with the Belters Only – a DJ duo made up of Bisset and Robbie G – because they are “killing it” by dominating the charts in their native Ireland.
“Belters Only are Irish and huge at the minute so they would be good to work with at some point, being Irish and killing it and all that.”
The ‘What About Us’ hitmaker – who split with Ben Foden, the father of her daughter Aoife, 10, and son Tadhg, seven, , in 2018 after six years of marriage – doesn’t like “holding a grudge” but acknowledges the importance of going through all the stages of heartbreak.
She said: “I don’t believe in holding a grudge, it can make you feel bitter but you can feel down and sad and you’re allowed to have those sorts of feelings… but you have to let them go as well.”
Earlier this month, the ‘Ego’ hitmaker – who made up the girl group with Mollie King, Rochelle Humes, Frankie Bridge and Vanessa White – admitted to “enjoying” single life but used to feel “empty” without a man.
Una said: “I’m enjoying it. I did worry about it for a while. I came out of the divorce like kind of like ‘Oh, I’m all on my own again and I felt almost empty without another half’, but then you get really used to being on your own and maybe a bit too used to it.
“In the bed, I don’t have to compete for space! I enjoy it’s exciting, it’s nice.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Gorillaz have teamed up with Smirnoff to launch their own bottle of special edition vodka.
Damon Albarn’s band has created an exclusive limited edition Smirnoff x Gorillaz bottle featuring the group’s characters as well as their own cocktail recipes including the Vodka Murdini – a spin on the classic vodka martini inspired by Gorillaz character Murdoc – and the Smirnoff Brooklyn – which pays homage to the vodka Manhattan and character Russel’s love of chilli.
Both recipes feature n the bottle, and a description of the Vodka Murdini states: “Murdoc Niccals is affectionately regarded by the Gorillaz fandom community as Pickle (owing to his green skin) and we wouldn’t put it past him to consider himself the ideal candidate for the next Bond, so it was a no brainer to take the shaken-not-stirred classic and whack a pickle in it… Hold the olive.”

The ‘Break My Soul’ hitmaker unveiled her plans to take her seventh studio album on the road next year while auctioning off a special VIP bundle at the 2022 Wearable Art Gala hosted by her mother Tina Knowles-Lawson and her step-father Richard Lawson on Sunday (23.10.2022) in Santa Monica.
According to footage posted on social media, the 41-year-old superstar offered up a “concert ticket package” for her upcoming world tour at the star-studded auction in aid of Where Art Can Occur Theatre Centre’s arts and mentorship programmes in the ‘Crazy in Love’ hitmaker’s home state of Texas.
Beyonce’s listing – which was broadcast on the screen – included a pair of tickets to any stop of the purchaser’s choice, airfare, hotel and one-of-a-kind backstage experience dubbed as “guided backstage tour with Miss Tina.”
It read: “Concert Ticket Package. Valued at a total of $20,000, United x WACO offers you a chance to see Beyonce on her Renaissance Tour starting in the Summer of 2023 at any of United’s national and international destinations around the world.

OHMYGOSSIP — Loyle Carner says his new album ‘Hugo’ “wouldn’t exist without” driving lessons from his estranged father.
The ‘Ottolenghi’ hitmaker third album – and follow up to his 2019 ‘Not Waving, but Drowning’ – was inspired by getting to know his dad after he wasn’t around when he was growing up with his mother Jean, stepfather Nik and little brother Ryan.
The 28-year-old rapper – whose real name is Benjamin Coyle-Larner – told the Daily Star’s Wired Column: “My father taught me to drive during lockdown.
“We spent time in his little red Polo and if it wasn’t for him and those conversations in that car, this album wouldn’t exist.”
Loyle – who welcomed a son in 2020 with his girlfriend – believes the reconciliation has made him a better father and able to find more “joy and happiness”.
He said: “I also wouldn’t be as good a father as I could be, or in a place where I’ve found so much joy and happiness.”
The Mercury Music Prize nominee thinks offering “forgiveness” to his dad is so special because it’s rare in his social circle.
Loyle said: “I really stand behind saying, ‘I forgive you’ to my father on this album, because it’s not something tried and tested in my community. A lot of my friends grew up without their father and the attitude is, ‘Let’s just get on with life on our own, give the money we make to our mums’. It was good that I’ve been able to express forgiveness to my father.”
The Brit School alum shared that his dad is a fan of the LP because “it’s an honest reflection” of their father-son relationship.
Loyle said: “He likes the record because it’s an honest reflection of our reconnection, and it’s not too clean or super-nice about him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘Midnights’ has sold more than one million copies in its first three days on sale, making it the top-selling record so far of 2022.
The 32-year-old singer’s tenth album, released Friday (21.10.22), shifted the units in America – a record only previously reached by Taylor’s album ‘Reputation’, put out in 2017.
Taylor also broke the Spotify record for the highest number of streams on the first day of a release.
If her critically acclaimed ‘Midnights’ debuts at No1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, it will make it her eleventh chart-topping album, according to MailOnline.
A basic edition of the record was put out at midnight before she released an extended version title ‘3AM’ that included seven extra tracks.
Taylor has said ‘Midnights’ contains themes of “self-hated” after it was the subject of intense speculation over its apparently personal lyrics.
She told ‘New Music Daily’ on Apple Music About the song ‘Karma’ from the record: “So one of the themes about ‘Midnights’ is how you’re feeling in the middle of the night, and that can be intense self-hatred.
“You go through these very polarising emotions when you’re up late at night and your brain just spirals – it can spiral downward or it can spiral way up and you can just be really feeling yourself and ‘Karma’ is written from a perspective of feeling like really happy really proud of the way your life is… feeling like this must be a reward for doing stuff right and it’s a song that I really love because I think we all need some of those moments.
“You know, we can’t just be beating ourselves up all the time. You have to have these moments where you’re like, ‘You know what karma is, my boyfriend, and that’s it.”
It was a rare public mention from Taylor about her actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 31, who she has been dating since 2006.
Taylor made ‘Midnights’ on a break from currently re-recording her early records due to a dispute with music mogul Scooter Braun, 41, and is her first original record in two years.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono wants U2 to release a “noisy, uncompromising, unreasonable guitar album” before ‘Songs Of Ascent’.
The U2 frontman has revealed the upcoming record – which the group have been teasing since 2009 – is on hold because he is keen to first drop an AC/DC-style rock record.
He said: “We all make mistakes. The progressive-rock virus gets in, and we needed a vaccine. The discipline of our songwriting, the thing that made U2 – top-line melody, clear thoughts – had gone.
“With the band, I was like, this is not what we do, and we can only do that experimental stuff if we have the songwriting chops. So we went to songwriting school, and we’re back and we’re good! Over those two albums, ‘Songs Of Innocence and Experience’, our songwriting returned. Now we need to put the firepower of rock ‘n’ roll back.
“I don’t know who is going to make our f***-off rock ‘n’ roll album. You almost want an AC/DC, you want Mutt Lange. The approach. The discipline. The songwriting discipline. That’s what we want.”
But Bono believes U2’s time for having hits could be over, so he is keen to create a “f***-off-to-the-pop-charts rock ‘n’ roll song”.
He added to The New York Times newspaper: “I would have loved to have a pop song on the radio. Probably we’ve run a road on that.
“So right now I want to write the most unforgiving, obnoxious, defiant, f***-off-to-the-pop-charts rock ‘n’ roll song that we’ve ever made.
“I spoke to Edge about it this week. He’s going, ‘Is it that call again?’ ‘What call?’ ‘The one about we’re going to write the big f***-off rock song?’
“And I say, ‘Yeah, it’s our job!’ We can make songs famous now, but I don’t think U2 can make them hits.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne is bringing Ozzfest to the Metaverse Music Festival.
Set to take place between November 10 to 13, the second iteration of the multi-genre event will see the Black Sabbath legend perform virtually with other acts set to be confirmed for Ozzfest at MVMF.
The festival takes place in the virtual blockchain world of Decentraland.
The lineup also includes rapper Soulja Boy and DJ Dillon Francis, the latter of whom has joined forces with Vegas City to create his own club and will also open the festival.
MVMF promises unique “Web3-enabled” experiences, which typically uses blockchains, cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
The debut festival in 2021 featured Paris Hilton, Deadmau5 and Alison Wonderland and was attended by more than 50,000.
The virtual gig announcement comes after Ozzy has repeatedly said he’s “determined” to tour again – even if it means being “nailed to a board and wheeled on” stage.
The 73-year-old singer – who recently took some time away from the spotlight as he dealt with his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis and spinal problems – insists he will be back on stage for a run of shows because it is where he “belongs”.
He said: “I am determined to get back on stage even if I have to be nailed to a board and wheeled on. Survival is my legacy.
“It’s where I belong. The relationship I have with my audience is the biggest love affair of my life.”
Ozzy insists he feels “young at heart”, but knows he is getting older because “things go wrong”.
He added: “That’s the only thing that reminds me I’m getting older: things going wrong and not working anymore. But I still feel young at heart.”
Ozzy returned to the stage in the US last month for a half-time performance at the Los Angeles Rams’ SoFi Stadium, as they took on the Buffalo Bills in the NFL season opener.
The Black Sabbath star opened his performance with the song ‘Patient Number 9’, the titular track from his new 13th solo studio album, and he was later joined by guitarist Zakk Wylde for ‘Crazy Train’.
It was Ozzy’s first US performance since he joined forces with Post Malone and Travis Scott to collaborate on their ‘Take What You Want’ tune at the 2019 American Music Awards, while he hasn’t played a full gig since 2018.
But he did make a surprise appearance at this summer’s Commonwealth Games closing ceremony in his home city of Birmingham, England, to perform alongside fellow Sabbath legend Tony Iommi, and drummer Tommy Clufetos and bassist Adam Wakeman.
Ozzy – who was born in the inner Birmingham area of Aston – told the crowd: “I love you, Birmingham – it’s good to be back.”
The ‘Paranoid’ star suffered a fall at his Los Angeles home while he was battling pneumonia in 2019 and at one point in time, he was left contemplating the worst.
He recently said: “It got so bad that at one point I thought, ‘Oh God, please don’t let me wake up tomorrow morning.’ Because it was f****** agony.”
Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in February 2019, which he publicly revealed in January 2020.

The pop megastar has just dropped her recording-breaking album ‘Midnights’ – which is already the highest-selling record of 2022, within just days of its release – and the ‘Karma’ singer is keen to reconnect with her Swifties when she tours again.
Appearing on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, she said of hitting the road: “I think I should do it. When it’s time, we’ll do it. I miss it. I really miss it.”
She went on: “I miss when you write songs and you’re proud of the songs and you have the fans reacting. The most potent way that you can see them react is when you’re looking into their faces … I really miss that connection.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bob Dylan thanks fans for being music and art lovers on his new tour.
The 81-year-old has been speaking to audiences only a few times during the shows on his ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways World Tour 2022’.
Sitting behind a piano for almost the entirety of the gigs – emerging only a handful of times to stand in front of crowds – Bob has been saying halfway through: “Thank you art lovers” and “Thank you music lovers”.
He also broke his long-standing form of not addressing fans on Thursday night (20.10.22) when he played the London Palladium by announcing the late Joe Strummer’s wife Lucinda Tait was in the audience and asking her to stand so she could be applauded.
Aside from that and a thank you to the assembled “music lovers” he only spoke again to thank his band members by name.
Fans at the Palladium are told to hand in their phones ahead of the gigs, which are kept in sealed pouches only unlocked at the end.
Bob said: “Thank you music lovers” at Thursday night’s gig after playing ‘When I Paint My Masterpiece’ – one of only a handful of his well-known hits played on his current tour.
On Wednesday (19.10.22) the singer, now also a top-selling painter and sculptor, had thanked the audience for being “art lovers” after playing the track.
He is set to play two more nights at the Palladium, Sunday (23.10.22) and Monday (24.10.22), before continuing his tour in England and Ireland.
One fan at Thursday’s gig was sleepy and rowdy – nodding off around 15 minutes into Bob’s piano-playing and singing before waking up when the singer launched into up-tempo rockabilly numbers and repeatedly yelling: “Go Bobby, boogie-woogie”.
The largely quiet tone of the gigs on his tour have been branded “serene” and “haunting” by reviewers, with the Palladium stage a simple backdrop of a huge plain curtain lit by a few yellow spotlights, and the venue going dark in between songs.
Bob plays nine of the 10 songs on his ‘Rough and Rowdy Ways’ album – leaving out only the 17-minute ‘Murder Most Foul’, which recently gave him his first US No 1 hit single of his 60-year recording career.
In its place he plays a handful of his better-known songs recorded between 1966 and 1981, alongside his backing band – Bob Britt and Doug Lancio on guitars, Tony Garnier (string bass and bass guitar), Charley Drayton (drums) and Donnie Herron (steel guitar, fiddle and electric mandolin.)
Among the older tracks are ‘Watching the River Flow’ ‘I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight’, ‘I’ve Made Up My Mind to Give Myself to You’ and ‘Most Likely You’ll Go Your Way (And I’ll Go Mine.)’
His Palladium gigs have so far finished with ‘Every Grain of Sand’.
The rendition ends with Bob playing the harmonica for the first and only time in the show, before he stands briefly before disappearing without giving an encore when the stage is again plunged into darkness.

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean-Michel Jarre is releasing his 22nd studio album.
‘OXYMORE’ is billed as the 74-year-old’s “most ambitious and groundbreaking to date”, with him having produced, composed and recorded the record.
He said about his cutting-edge recording method: “In real life stereo does not exist, our audio field is 360 degrees. Today, technology allows us to explore composition in spatial audio and that opens a whole new experience for us musicians in the creative process.
“Music will be more easily experienced by anyone with regular headphones or the new generations of sound systems, offering a more physical and natural way of listening to sound and music in full immersion.”
‘OXYMORE’ is said to be “a tribute to the French roots of electronic music” and an homage to the late French composer Pierre Henry, an iconic figure in electronic and classical music and one of Jean-Michel’s influences at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales where he studied.
Since his death in 2017, Pierres’s widow provided the musician with original sounds which had been intended for use in this collaboration.
Jean-Michel added: “Pierre’s work inspired me for ‘OXYMORE’ and working around some soundbites of his led me down a creative path that I may not have taken otherwise.
“I chose some of his sounds precisely from one track to another. ‘OXYMORE’ is also a tribute to the French way of approaching modern music, electroacoustic music, and my early studies at the GRM where Pierre definitely influenced the future of electronic music worldwide,
along with Pierre Shaeffer.”
The project is also inspired by the French movement “musique concrete”, a genre that utilises recorded sounds as raw material – a movement first developed in the 1940s and went on to revolutionise the way music is produced.
As part of an immersive project, Jean-Michel is also launching ‘OXYVILLE’, a VR world which accompanies the album release, providing a digital stage for him to perform the album live in VR.
To celebrate the launch of the album, he will perform ‘OXYMORE’ live in 360 spatial audio at the Palais Brongniart in Paris, in partnership with GL Events, to a selected audience at exclusive, invitation-only events between 23 and 25 October.
The concert on 24 October will be live and available on invitation to the world in VR within the musician’s custom built and designed Metaverse ‘OXYVILLE’ via VR Chat in partnership with VRROOM, and
simultaneously in Livestream 2D across the artist’s social media channels.
‘OXYMORE’, out now, is available on CD, Double Vinyl and digital in Stereo, Binaural, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos.
The physical product also includes a code to access the highest quality Binaural master.

OHMYGOSSIP — Joan Armatrading’s 50-year music career is being marked with the release of a new live album.
The 71-year-old’s ‘Live at Asylum Chapel’ is out November 18 on BMG after the BBC recently honoured the singer with a screening of the show, which was streamed worldwide during lockdown last year for one night, and was followed by the documentary about her life and music ‘Me Myself I’.
Joan said: “Fifty years is a long time but for me it’s flown by and I still get the same thrill from writing songs as when I started.
“This live album is a great way to look back and also bring my story right up to date by including songs from the latest album. I’m really happy that so many people still want to listen to them and sing along.”
Joan’s concert from south London’s Asylum Chapel featured some of her most famous songs including ‘Drop the Pilot’, ‘The Weakness in Me’, ‘Me Myself I’ and ‘Willow’.
Songs from her latest Top 10 studio album ‘Consequences’ also got their live debut, such as ‘Natural Rhythm’, ‘Consequences’, ‘Already There’, ‘Better Life’, ‘Glorious Madness’ and ‘To Anyone Who Will Listen’.
The album features Joan’s live band – Jennifer Maidman on bass, Paul Stewart (drums), Alex Lee Richards (keyboards) and Jamie Anderson (saxophone.)
Arriving on her own to join her parents in Birmingham from St Kitts aged seven, Joan taught herself to play piano and guitar before becoming Britain’s first female singer songwriter to gain international success.
She has produced and played every instrument on her records since 2003.
Her admirers range from Bob Dylan to Arlo Parks and she is the first UK female artist to debut at No1 in Billboard’s Blues charts and the first female UK artist to be nominated for a Grammy in the Blues category.
She has an Ivor Novello Academy Fellowship Award, Lifetime Achievement from the Radio 2 Folk Awards and an MPG Outstanding Contribution Award to UK Music.
Awarded an MBE by Queen Elizabeth in 2001, she was given the CBE in 2020.
The same year, she was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from Woman of the Year.
She also holds six honorary degrees, doctorates or fellowships from various universities – and has appeared in ‘The Beano’.
Her 50-year landmark is also being celebrated by Faber, who will publish ‘The Weakness In Me: Selected Lyrics’ on November 3, featuring a foreword by revered record producer Glyn Johns.

“You go through these very polarising emotions when you’re up late at night and your brain just spirals – it can spiral downward or it can spiral way up and you can just be really feeling yourself and ‘Karma’ is written from a perspective of feeling like really happy really proud of the way your life is… feeling like this must be a reward for doing stuff right and it’s a song that I really love because I think we all need some of those moments.
“You know, we can’t just be beating ourselves up all the time. You have to have these moments where you’re like, ‘You know what karma is, my boyfriend, and that’s it’.”
It was a rare public mention from Taylor about her actor boyfriend Joe Alwyn, 31, who she has been dating since 2006.
Taylor made ‘Midnights’ on a break from currently re-recording her early records due to a dispute with music mogul Scooter Braun, 41, and is her first original record in two years.
It comes after she said she has secretly based the genres of her songs on what type of pen she is using to write.
The singer admitted it is “dorky” she has three different types of tune – which have been written using a quill, fountain pen or glitter gel pen.
She recently said about her creative process: “I’ve never talked about this publicly before because, well, it’s dorky. But I have secretly established genre categories for the lyrics I write.
“They are affectionately titled Quill Lyrics, Fountain Pen Lyrics and Glitter Gel Pen Lyrics.
“This sounds confusing but I came up with these categories based on what writing tool I imagined having in my hand when I scribbled it down. I don’t have a quill. Anymore. I broke it when I was mad.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Turner says the ‘Arctic Monkeys’ steered clear of science-fiction lyrics on their new record.
The band’s frontman was speaking about the group’s seventh album ‘The Car’, which comes after 2018’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino’ – a concept album about a resort on the Moon.
Alex, 36, told The Yorkshire Post newspaper on Friday (21.10.22): “I would imagine at some point there was an intention to not go anywhere near science fiction-sounding things with this record – in the lyrics or the music.
“We may have successfully evaded science fiction in the music side.”
But he added: “There are actually a few instances where a bit of that language hangs over from the last one, probably more than I even realised.
“There’s plenty about it that feels different to me from the last one. There’s a progression in the dynamics of the whole thing. Perhaps it executes those ideas more effectively.”
Alex also added about the new release, out now, in an interview with the NME on Friday the band didn’t think they would still be making records when they started out.
He added: “The records we’re making now are definitely different now to the ones we probably thought we would be making when we started out – actually, we didn’t think we’d be even making records anymore.
“Twenty years ago, I didn’t envision ourselves going beyond… well, the fact we gave ourselves the name ‘Arctic Monkeys’ alludes to the extent of ambitions we had.
“When I think back to earlier times, I feel like we were just running on instinct, creative decisions included.
“I mean, like, first and foremost, we didn’t really know how to play our instruments at the start. But beyond that, I don’t really think that much within the band has changed a great deal; we might know a few more tricks, but we’re still rolling on that very same instinct.
“I think that’s the key difference maybe with (‘The Car’) and the last record… perhaps we didn’t quite have a grasp of the dynamics of the bigger, newer sounds we were exploring.
“But playing together live again certainly helped us to get there, and we developed a better awareness of each other. You find yourself in a different place when you take the songs to a new setting beyond where they were recorded.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran can’t sleep after a concert without having some wine to calm him down.
The 31-year-old pop star always thought that having a drink after a show was an “excuse” used by alcoholics but now feels he “has to have” at least half a bottle of wine to wind down after playing to the crowds.
He said: “I always thought that was an excuse for alcoholics because all the musicians I knew were like mad alcoholics. I always was like ‘Oh I guess it’s just an excuse to think that the adrenaline is so big that I have to have 40 beers. ‘So if I finish a gig, I have to have like half a bottle to a bottle of wine when I’m winding down and a steak or a bit of chicken or something afterwards.”
The ‘Shivers’ hitmaker is currently on his ‘+–=÷x ‘ world tour and embarked on marathon-style training regime in preparation for the run, even though he has “never been” an exerciser before.
Speaking on ‘That Peter Crouch Podcast’, he told the former England footballer: “There’s a certain time you have to eat and don’t eat anything too funky. Just plain. Otherwise, you’re jumping around on stage and you’ve got curry coming up the back of your throat. The fitness you have to have to be a footballer – if I play 10 minutes of football I’m f***** but running around a stage and trying to be at all angles at all times, I found at the beginning of this tour I really had to get into serious shape for it. I’ve never been an exerciser before and I’ve never done weights or gone on long runs. But training for this tour was pretty much like training for a marathon.”
