OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Wyman says he and The Rolling Stones send each other Christmas presents every year.
The 86-year-old bassist played in the iconic rock band between 1962 and 1993, and he insists he has remained close to singer Sir Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards – who, along with Bill, formed the group with guitarist Brian Jones and drummer Charlie Watts.
Bill gets scented candles from Keith every Yule Tide and says the trio are “like distant relatives”.
Speaking to Classic Rock online, he spilled: “Keith still sends me scented candles at Christmas. We all send each other birthday and Christmas presents. It’s still a family thing, social not business, and it works really well. It’s like distant relatives – you’ve got an Auntie Elsie and an Uncle Fred who are really charming but you don’t want to see them all the time.”
Bill admits when he left The Stones for good it did take time for him to get back on friendly terms with Mick, 79, and Keith, 78, because they were desperate for him to keep playing with the band.
The Rhythm Kings musician – who last played with the ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ hitmakers was on the ‘Urban Jungle Tour’ in 1990 – said: “When I first left the Stones it took a few months to rebuild that relationship with them. It was quite stressful and they didn’t want me to leave. So they became b*****. Instead of being nice and saying, ‘Great 30 years. Cheers mate.’ Mick would say the most absurd, stupid things, with that spoilt attitude he had. He’d say things like, ‘Oh well, if anybody has to play bass I’ll do it. It can’t be that hard.’
“And Keith said, ‘No one leaves this band unless they’re in a wooden box.’ Anyway, they left the door open for me for two years. Charlie and Mick would phone and say, ‘You’re not really leaving are you? Have you re-thought it?’ Then when it came time for them to do the ’94/’95 tour they had to make a final decision. Mick and Charlie came over and spent the evening with me, trying to talk me into staying. Have I had any regrets about not going back? None whatsoever.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish was surprised to find out that people thought her music was “depressing”.
The 20-year-old pop star had never considered her songs to have that vibe, and she thinks musically she has more in common with The Beatles than “dark” music made by other artists.
Speaking on new Audible series Origins, she said: “It was so weird to me when I was first coming up and, and the thing everybody said was, like, ‘Billie Eilish’s music is so depressing, and it’s so sad, and it’s too dark.’
“I was like, ‘What are you talking about? Have you listened to The Beatles and ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ and ‘Yesterday’, and Lana Del Rey? Like, what the hell?’”
Instead, Billie thinks her hits like ‘bad guy’, ‘everything I wanted’ and ‘Happier Than Ever’ are just examples of lyrics that are “real”.
She added: “It was so surprising to me that people thought anything I was creating was dark. I mean, it’s real.”
Billie along with Doja Cat, King Princess, Koffee, Mickey Guyton, Flying Lotus, Camilo and Tobe Nwigwe all explore their musical beginnings in Origins.
All episodes of Origins will be available on Audible from November 17 and as well as interviews the episodes will also feature musical performances.

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake and 21 Savage have announced that their album ‘Her Loss’ has been delayed by a week due to producer Noah “40” Shebib catching COVID-19.
The joint LP was due to drop on Friday (28.10.22) but it will now become available on November 4 after Shebib – a long-time collaborator of Drake’s – was unable to finish his work on the tracks due to the effects of coronavirus.
In a post to his Instagram Stories, Drake revealed: “Our brother @OVO40 got COVID while mixing and mastering the crack so he’s resting up and NOVEMBER 4th is HER LOSS day we’ll see you soon.”
Drake and 21 Savage only announced ‘Her Loss’ was coming last weekend.
The title of the record and original release date appeared midway through the video for ‘Jimmy Cooks’, a track from Drake’s 2022 album ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ that features 21 Savage.
Drake and 21 Savage previously worked together on 2021 track ‘Knife Talk’ – which featured on Drake’s sixth studio album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ – and ‘Mr. Right Now’ from Savage and Metro Boomin‘s 2020 release ‘Savage Mode II’.
Drake’s seventh studio LP ‘Honestly, Nevermind’ was a surprise release on June 17, 2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Mötley Crüe have “accepted” Mick Mars’ decision to retire from touring.
The 71-year-old rocker – whose real name is Robert Alan Deal – served as lead guitarist of the band since its inception in 1981 but announced his decision to retire from touring on Wednesday (26.10.22) because of his long struggles with degenerative disease Ankylosing Spondylitis and now remaining members Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx have vowed to “continue the legacy.”
In a statement, they said: “While change is never easy, we accept Mick’s decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health. We have watched Mick manage his Ankylosing Spondylitis for decades and he has always managed it with utmost courage and grace. To say “enough is enough” is the ultimate act of courage. Mick’s sound helped define Mötley Crüe from the minute he plugged in his guitar at our very first rehearsal together. The rest, as they say, is history. We’ll continue to honor his musical legacy.”
The ‘Red Hot’ hitmakers are due to hit the road once again in 2023 for a world tour with fellow rock band Def Leppard and the remaining members went on to explain that their “good friend” and former Marilyn Manson rocker John 5 has agreed to step in.
The statement continued: “We will carry out Mick’s wish and continue to tour the world as planned in 2023. No doubt will it take an absolutely outstanding musician to fill Mick’s shoes so we are grateful that our good friend, John 5 has agreed to come on board and join us moving forward. We’ll see all you Crüeheads out on the road!”
John 5 said: “I’m honored to carry on Mick’s legacy and am looking forward to playing these songs.”
The comments come just hours after it was announced that Mick had decided to step back from live shows due to his “ongoing painful struggle” with the disease and while he will continue to be a member of the band, he cannot “handle the rigors” of touring life.
The statement read: “Mick Mars, co-founder and lead guitarist of the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe for the past 41 years, has announced today that due to his ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis, he will no longer be able to tour with the band. Mick will continue as a member of the band, but can no longer handle
the rigors of the road. A.S. is an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Dolly Parton has no plans to tour anymore.
The ‘Jolene’ hitmaker – who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 5 – doubts that she will ever hit the road again for “full-blown tour”.
The 76-year-old country superstar told Pollstar: “I do not think I will ever tour again, but I do know I’ll do special shows here and there, now and then. Maybe do a long weekend of shows, or just a few shows at a festival. But I have no intention of going on a full-blown tour anymore.”
Dolly mused that she had spent her “whole life” travelling to perform but now wants to “stay a little closer to home” with Carl Dean, her husband, who she tied the knot with in 1966.
She said: “I’ve done that my whole life, and it takes so much time and energy. I like to stay a little closer to home with my husband [Carl Dean]. We’re getting older now, and I don’t want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time. Something could happen. I would not feel right about that, if I were gone and somebody needed me. Or I would feel bad if I had to leave a tour if somebody got sick at home and needed me and then I had to walk out on the fans.”
The Grammy award winner – who also has a side career as a children’s literacy advocate with her charity, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – wants to collab with 70s rock gods Jimmy Page and Robert Plant on her Led Zeppelin-inspired bluegrass album.
Dolly said: ”But I’m going to redo that really on the money. I did it kind of bluegrass-style when I did it; but when I do the rock album, I’m going to actually re-record it – and do it more true to the regular record. I’m trying to see if Robert Plant might sing on it. Maybe Jimmy Page might do the pick-up part on it. I’m looking forward to dragging in some of the great classic people, girls and boys, to sing on some of the songs. I’m not far enough along to discuss who and what, but I am going to do an album.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan is to release new music early next year.
The 29-year-old singer – who shot to fame as a member of One Direction – is planning to drop some new tunes in the new year, and revealed he will be releasing a third studio album in 2023.
Speaking in a surprise Twitter video, he said: “It’s been a while, which I know you’re very aware of. But I just wanted to give you an update about what’s going on. I’m back.
“I’ve got new music coming in the new year that I’m really, really proud of.
“I appreciate you being so patient with me while I’ve done it. I have a whole new album, too.”
The ‘Put a Little Love on Me’ hitmaker is also planning to play some shows on the festival circuit next year, because it is something he has “wanted to do forever”.
He added: “Something that I’ve wanted to do forever is festivals, and I’ve never really had the opportunity to do it.
“So I think we will be announcing some festivals in the next couple of days and weeks and months for next year, which I’m really excited about. I can’t wait to get back on the road and see you guys all over the world, and have a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see you soon. Love you very much. See you in the new year.”
In July, Niall vowed to finish his third solo album “as soon as I can”.
He said at the time: “I’d love to try to get this album done as soon as I can.
“After this, I will be back to America for the foreseeable and then once I’m finished I won’t be too long about getting back out there because I’m going to these gigs these days and getting very jealous.”
The former One Direction star was forced to cancel his ‘Nice To Meet Ya’ World Tour in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher says The Beatles are “more culturally significant” than any other act.
The former Oasis guitarist and songwriter has hailed the legendary Liverpool band as a “level above” everyone else in the music business.
Asked if he’s ever discussed songwriting with a Beatle on Revolver Radio with Matt Wilkinson to mark the release of the reissue of The Beatles’ 1966 album ‘Revolver’, Noel said: “Although McCartney is a massive Beatles fan. He’s like the biggest Beatles fan. People will not accept that you don’t have a f****** clue about ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ or who that girl is or any recollection of writing it. They get really annoyed because it’s the song that saved their life and you have, I f****** don’t know, I was waking up with a hangover and there it was.
“Ray Davies, Jagger and Richards, and all the ones that we love we’ve all written culturally significant songs in youth culture anthems. But the thing is if people say, so what is it about the Beatles? It’s just like, they’ve done it more. Their songs are more culturally significant and they did more of them. and they’re just, yeah, they’re a level above. And McCartney and Lennon are in it. Bob Dylan. After that you’re kind of like, everybody’s probably on par after that, I would say.”
Oasis – who split in 2009 after a backstage bust-up between estranged siblings Liam, ex-frontman of the Britpop group, and Noel – were often compared to the ‘Helter Skelter’ group.
And while The Fab Four – the late John Lennon and George Harrison and surviving members Sirs Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney – were a huge influence on their music, Noel found comparisons between them embarrassing because the ‘Wonderwall’ group weren’t as good in his eyes.
He said previously: “When Oasis started, we were so big we were compared to them size-wise and musically, embarrassingly, compared to them as well.
“(It’s embarrassing) because we weren’t as good as them.”
The Beatles’ songs still dominate Noel’s listening and remain the biggest influence on his own tracks.
He shared: “They mean everything to me.
“They’ve definitely got the best tunes … hands down. In my record collection, they’ve got the greatest tunes by far.
“They influenced everybody who influenced everybody else, who influenced everybody that came and went.
“Their influence is absolute. I don’t know a single guy playing the guitar or writing songs that wouldn’t cite the Beatles as an influence.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That are reuniting for a one-off gig at American Express presents BST Hyde Park next summer.
The trio – comprising Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen – will headline the concert series at London’s Hyde Park on July 1, 2023.
Take That said: “We’re so excited to be back together and that BST Hyde Park will be the first stage we perform on in almost four years. We have incredible memories of playing there in 2016, and we can’t wait to see everyone in July.”
Sugababes and The Script will open for the ‘Back For Good’ hitmakers.
Tickets will go on general sale on Thursday 3rd November via www.bst-hydepark.com.
Next year’s BST will also see headline performances from Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band, Pink, BLACKPINK and Billy Joel.
Take That have largely been focused on solo projects with Mark, 50, releasing his latest solo LP ‘Land of Dreams’ in September.
Gary, meanwhile, toured his one-man theatre show, ‘A Different Stage’, which shares a name with the 51-year-old singer’s tell-all memoir.
Meanwhile, Mark recently said he “would love” Robbie Williams to rejoin Take That.
The ‘Angels’ hitmaker quit the group in 1995, a year before they split, and after they reformed in 2005, he went on to rejoin in 2010 to work on their album ‘Progress’ and a subsequent tour.
Although he’s keen to welcome Robbie back into the group, Mark teased another album as a three-piece is in the works.
He said: “I would love for it to happen in the future but I think this next record will be the three of us.
“We don’t need to talk about whether he will come back — it’s like this intuition thing.
“He might — if he knows we are in the ­studio — come down and get involved somewhere, maybe in the writing, because that’s just how it happens.”
Fifth member Jason Orange quit the band in 2014 to lead a quiet life away from the spotlight but Mark would also love him back as well.
He added: “I would love the five of us to do something again one day in the future but we don’t know what will happen.
“When [all five of us reunited] in 2010, for us as a band it was really important to make that record.
“To come together and work together for so many reasons, on so many levels — it was really special.
“If anything happens again it will be because everyone really wants to hang out and have fun together and because our diaries have worked out.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna is back with her first single in six years.
The ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker, whose last solo release was her 2016 LP ‘ANTI’, has returned with the moving ballad ‘Lift Me Up’ for the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack.
The slow-burner is a touching tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman – T’Challa in the 2018 original film – who passed away following a secret battle with cancer in 2020 at the age of 43.
The movie’s director and writer Ryan Coogler received a co-writing credit along with Beyonce and Drake’s songwriter Tems and producer Ludwig Göransson.
Tems said: “I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them.
“Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour.”
Rihanna was Coogler’s first choice for the soundtrack.
The new mother was the perfect fit because motherhood is a big theme in the Marvel flick, and they were “looking for artists who would embody it thematically.”
He said this week: “Rihanna, man, we knew she was at a point in her life as well where she was focusing on different things — focused on business, motherhood, which is a big theme in our film. We were holding out hope that maybe it could work out and boy did it for this song.
“I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
The 34-year-old singer gave birth to her first child, a baby boy, with A$AP Rocky in May.
The film hits cinemas on November 11, stream ‘Lift Me Up’ on all major streaming services now.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS star Jin has released his Coldplay-assisted solo single, ‘The Astronaut’.
After the K-Pop boy band collaborated with Chris Martin and co on the mega-hit ‘My Universe’ on the band’s 2021 LP ‘Music of the Spheres’, the 29-year-old star teamed up with the ‘Yellow’ hitmakers to pen his latest solo tune.
As well as adding to the lyrics, Coldplay play on the track and Chris plays a news presenter in the accompanying music video.
A press release states that the track “tells a story of an astronaut who accidentally landed on Earth. Jin’s detailed expressions and acting absorb the viewers’ attention.”
The video plot is as follows: Jin, the astronaut, lives on Earth after an emergency landing. One day, he sees a mysterious beam calling for home and he is determined to return to his home planet. Coldplay’s Chris Martin appears as a news presenter delivering the breaking news. On his way to the spaceship where we first landed, Jin recalls his memories on Earth as flashbacks. The video sees a heartwarming ending as Jin decides to stay on Earth to stay with his loved ones, eventually finding his ‘true’ home.”
Jin will join Coldplay on stage to give the live debut of ‘The Astronaut’ on the Argentina stop on their ‘The Music of the Spheres World Tour’ on October 28.
Meanwhile, Chris previously admitted he doesn’t think Coldplay will ever beat their BTS collaboration.
The 45-year-old musician said: “I don’t think we’ll ever be able to match the BTS surprise. That was surprising even for us.
“The journey from the first time it was mentioned – I was just like ‘how could that ever work?’ – to the song itself arriving and me thinking, ‘that could be for BTS’ – to now it feeling like the most natural collaboration in the world.
“It’s an amazing lesson for myself in keeping an open mind all the time, because you just never know what life or music is gonna throw you.”
Speaking previously about working with BTS, Chris said: “I think it’s very special to me that the most popular artist in the world speaks Korean and is like a group of brothers not from the West. And it just feels very hopeful to me in terms of thinking of the world as one family.
“Then of course, when you see who they are as people and their songs. It’s really a message of togetherness and finding, being yourself. All the stuff I agree with.
“The song is about how the power of love transcends all things, borders, and rules, and genders, and race, and every sexuality.
“If you look at people right now who are divided by a border or can’t be together, that’s what this song is about. About how nothing can really stop people loving each other.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue’s next album will have a new sound.
The Australian pop princess admits it’s challenging to establish a new sonic direction, even after being in the music business for more than three decades.
Kylie is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying: “I’ve been making albums now for over 30 years but each one is a different journey.
“I’m ready for new music.
“I can’t reveal what the sound is yet but it is all super exciting.
“It’s always a challenge to find that next sound.”
She added: “My last album was mostly made during lockdown.
“To be back in the studio with some of my favourite people is simply a joy.”
Kylie went back to her disco-pop roots on 2020’s ‘DISCO’.
BMG boss Alistair Norbury confirmed recently that Kylie would be bringing out the follow-up to ‘DISCO’ in 2023.
He said: “So next year we’ll start our third album with Kylie, and we only expected to do one. So the roster is building to a size where it is almost self-sustaining. We already know our first Q1 and Q2 releases for next year.”
It is believed the 54-year-old star has teamed up with a number of “exciting” artists for the record, including songwriter Kamille.
A source said in July: “Kylie didn’t get a chance to tour her last album because of COVID restrictions, but she’s thrown herself back into writing music.
“She really loves being in the studio and is spending this summer working on her next record with some really exciting collaborators like [the songwriter] Kamille.
“‘Disco’ proved that she still has what it takes to make a massively successful pop album and people are queuing up to work with her.
“There are major plans in the pipeline and she can’t wait to have another record out and to be back on the road.”
While Kylie is anxious to get back on tour, she wanted to make sure she had new music for her fans first.
The insider added: “It has been more than three years since her ‘Golden’ tour and she is itching to perform.
“But that won’t happen now until this new album is out. It’s going to be well worth the wait.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Charli XCX says you have to “do a deal with the devil” to be mega-famous.
The ‘Used To Know Me’ singer admits that becoming a pop star means you have to sacrifice your soul and be prepared to “run people over” to achieve superstardom.
Speaking to NME for this week’s Big Read, she pondered: “To be famous – a stratospheric level of famous – you have to f****** want that s*** to happen to you, and you have to do the deal with the devil.”
Speaking about playing the mainstream game on her last LP ‘Crash’, Charli added: “You have to f****** go there and run people over. I’m not saying it’s a negative thing, it’s not, but I think with ‘Crash’ I definitely wanted to play that game. But I think because of who I am, and the artist that I am and the reference points that I have and the world that I come from, it’s like … there’s just this part of my brain that doesn’t want to function like that.”
The ‘Boom Clap’ hitmaker didn’t go into the project with the aim of selling out.
She added: ”I don’t think I was ever like: ‘I’m going to sell out the mainstream, but I’m going to do it my way’. I was like, ‘I want to sell out and be mainstream… ‘”
Charli insists she will move forward with her career with “no more fear” of being held back by record labels or disappointing people.
She explained: “I think I’ve just been really inspired by conviction recently.
“I always have been, but I had to witness it in person to really, fully understand that. I want to be completely committed and convicted to an idea and just f*** fear. I think that’s really what it is. No more fear going forward.
“No fear of anyone on the business side holding you back, no fear of people not understanding, no fear of fans being disappointed if maybe you don’t do exactly what they think they want from you, and no fear from yourself. No f****** fear! I want tunnel vision. That’s the way forward!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blue have released their first album in 7 years, ‘Heart and Soul’.
The ‘Breathe Easy’ hitmakers – comprising Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James and Antony Costa – have returned to their roots with one foot in the future on the 10-track LP.
The four-piece never expected to make another album, but ended up working with their old producer Hugh Goldsmith again.
They said: “Our career started with Hugh so it’s nice to come back and work with him again. He’s got an amazing understanding of music.”
Fans can expect to hear some of the new songs – including the lead single ‘Haven’t Found You Yet’ – and old classics on their upcoming tour in support of their seventh studio album in December.
Their pals B’Witched are joining Blue on the jaunt.
The ‘C’est La Vie’ hitmakers – comprising twins Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou and Sinead O’Carroll – are thrilled to be reuniting with the ‘Guilty’ hitmakers.
The Irish group said: “We are so excited to announce that we will be joining Blue on their Heart and Soul arena tour in December 2022. We have been wanting to tour together for some time now after nicknaming ourselves Bluwitched several years ago and are thrilled it is finally happening.
“We’ve known the guys for so long and have always loved their energy and their approach, so we know this is going to be a mega show. We will be bringing our hits of course but we have a new single and expect some surprises from us too! We want to put on an amazing show and can’t wait to see all the fans and some new faces too. What better way to end the year!”
Blue commented: “We are really excited to be teaming up with the girls from B’Witched on our UK tour. We had great fun touring Australia and New Zealand with the girls a few years ago and we are looking forward to round two!”
The two acts toured together for ‘The Big Reunion’ shows in 2013, along with Five, 911, Atomic Kitten, Honeyz, and Liberty X.
Megan McKenna – who is best known for appearing on ‘The Only Way is Essex’ – is also performing.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pulp’s reunion will kick off in 2023, with headline slots at Latitude and TRNSMT festivals and more.
Jarvis Cocker and co have confirmed a number of dates after cryptically teasing their first concerts in a decade.
Pulp will headline Latitude in Suffolk on July 21, and Glasgow’s TRNSMT on July 7.
The dates include two homecoming gigs in Sheffield on July 14 and 15, plus a massive outdoor gig at London’s Finsbury Park on July 1.
The ‘Do You Remember the First Time’ rockers reunited in 2011, with Jarvis joined by Russell Senior, Candida Doyle, Nick Banks, Steve Mackey and Mark Webber.
They played a surprise set at Glastonbury followed by a headline slot at Reading and Leeds.
Their last performances were in 2012, including a hometown show in Sheffield and a pair of shows on the SS Coachella Cruise.
In 2020, Jarvis said: “We got back together in 2011 and 2012 and we did quite a lot of shows and for me, that really brought that chapter to a satisfying end.”
“We rehearsed for quite a long time and I think we’ve managed to play the songs convincingly and authentically, and by that I just mean that we managed to locate what the songs were about. They still rang true.
“I thought it was pretty much a perfect tour, really; and that was a good end to that. But then I just had to try and think about what I would do after that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roger Daltrey wishes Oasis would “just get back together”.
The Who frontman has spoken highly of the iconic Britpop group’s former frontman Liam Gallagher but wishes he and his estranged brother, Noel, their ex-guitarist, would sort out their differences and get the ‘Some Might Say’ rockers back together.
Speaking to Yungblud for Rolling Stone, he said: “He’s just got an edge, and I wish [Oasis] would just get back together.
“Liam, though, has really carved out a niche for himself now, and I love him. I think he’s fabulous. He’s totally honest. He’s not frightened of saying how he feels. Very similar to you [Yungblud]. You remind me of him a bit.”
Oasis split in 2009 following a backstage bust-up between the rival siblings, and all hopes of a reunion have been dashed.
Despite Liam previously begging Noel repeatedly to get back on stage with him, he accepts that’s never going to happen.
His brother, on the other hand, admitted last week he thinks there’s “no point” to an Oasis reunion.
The 55-year-old rocker says the band sells “as many records now” as they did during their 90s heyday.
While appearing on the ‘Pub Talk’ podcast, Noel was asked if they would ever reform, prompting him to quip: “Er, would you go on holiday with your ex-missus?”
He went on: “As funny as this sounds. Oasis sell as many records now per year as we did when we were together. We’re as popular now in the eyes of the people as we ever were. And I’m happy with it.”
The musician insisted everyone is thriving – including Liam, who sold out two nights at Knebworth this summer after their iconic 1996 shows – since they left the group behind.
Noel added: “If we got back together there would be a circus – and there’s no point. Just leave it as it is. I’m happy. He’s [Liam Gallagher] doing his thing. He’s still selling out Knebworth. It’s like, mate, good luck to you, do you know what I mean?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Johnny Marr is on the lookout for Salford’s next big star to benefit from his Johnny Marr Award.
The former Smiths rocker has teamed up with the Salford Foundation Trust to offer under 25s the chance to receive financial support to boost their music career.
The Mancunian said: “It’s a privilege to make a contribution to the creative development of young people. The Salford Foundation Trust is a great example of positive local action that makes a difference. It’s an honour to be involved.”
Peter Collins CBE, Managing Trustee from The Salford Foundation Trust commented “I am very grateful for the support from Johnny Marr – we can’t let financial difficulties stand in the way of talent and this fund gives a young person in Salford for each of the next three years a chance to progress their talent.”

Meanwhile, Johnny previously admitted he gets mistaken for another famous Manchester musician, Noel Gallagher, at least “every month”.
The guitar legend said: “I think he thought I was joking about this, until he saw it. If I’m walking around – if not every week, every month – someone says to me, ‘Are you Noel Gallagher?’
“And I’ve told him this – I’m obviously not Noel, but it’s because I look like a guitar player. So he’s become the sort of generic term for ‘rock musician’, so I’m alright with that … I sometimes go ‘yeah’. But occasionally [if it’s] some little kid in Manchester … I go, ‘Look, you know I’m not Noel Gallagher, right, ’cause he’s so recognisable.’ And they go, ‘Well who are you then?'”
The 58-year-old songwriter also revealed that Noel, 55, is a favourite with taxi drivers outside of the pair’s hometown.
He explained: “Taxi drivers love him. I get it, ’cause I’m from the north and I guess I look like a musician, I get the ‘You from Manchester then? I had Noel in my cab a few weeks ago. Great, top guy.’
“I won’t tell you what the rest of the conversation goes like. ‘Top man, top man – mates with him are you? Were you in Oasis?’ Oh, it’s a long story mate.”
