OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd has released his track from the ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ soundtrack.
The ‘Creepin” singer has shared the epic tune, ‘Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength’), on the same day the eagerly-awaited sequel hits cinemas (16.12.22) – 13 years after the original film.
The Weeknd has previously had huge success with his film work – winning a Grammy award and an Oscar nomination for his 2014 tune ‘Earned It’ from the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ soundtrack.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ features the original film score by the late great James Horner and new work by Simon Franglen, who took over the project after the composer’s death in a plane crash in 2015.
The film stars returning actors Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver, and new cast member Kate Winslet.
The latter recently gushed that she was thrilled to reunite with her ‘Titanic’ director James Cameron on the project, saying: “I absolutely loved the first ‘Avatar’ movie. The deeper themes it conveys about our declining planet, were extremely poignant, and that mattered to me.
“So, I had no reservations at all. Plus, I was jumping into a well-oiled machine, so I was excited to think that everything they had learned as filmmakers from the first movie, would have only been ironed out and amplified in its second go around. And that’s fun!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosalia has released her Cardi B-assisted remix of ‘Despachá’.
The original track was released in July and featured on the deluxe edition of the genre-defying Spanish star’s album ‘Motomami’, which Cardi had gushed over.
She told her millions of Twitter followers: “Loving the Rosalia album…..soooo fireeee.
“Even if you don’t speak Spanish you will get into it.”
Meanwhile, Bebe Rexha previously revealed she sent the 30-year-old singer a song to consider adding her vocals to, but she wanted to be a part of the entire writing process.
The ‘I’m A Mess’ hitmaker said in 2019: “Rosalia, I’m obsessed with her, I think she’s a superstar.
“Her and Billie (Eilish).
“I Respect Rosalia a lot because I sent her a song that I wrote and I wanted to sing it to her and she was like, ‘Babe, this is a hit!’, but she wouldn’t cut it, she wants to be in the room and write with me.
“She wants to be a part of the writing process from start to finish and I really respect her for that.”
That same year there were also whispers of Beyonce collaborating with the ‘La Fama’ hitmaker.
An insider claimed at the time: “She reached out to her recently and they’ve now arranged to go into the studio together later this year.
“Beyonce featured on J Balvin’s ‘Mi Gente’ in 2017 so she knows how popular Latin-inspired music is right now.
“Rosalia has huge relevance and appeal and they are both super excited about what they could do together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Maneskin have shared the new single ‘LA FINE’ from their eagerly-awaited third studio album, ‘RUSH!’.
The 2021 Eurovision winners will drop their follow-up to 2021’s ‘Teatro D’ira: Vol. I’ on January 20, 2023.
The full track-listing has also been unveiled, revealing a feature from Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello on the track ‘GOSSIP’.
The LP also includes the singles ‘THE LONELIEST’, ‘SUPERMODEL’ and ‘MAMMAMIA’.
Damiano David and co covered Elvis Presley’s classic ‘If I Can Dream’ for Baz Luhrmann’s biopic ‘Elvis’ earlier this year.
Meanwhile, the Italian rockers recently admitted they feel they’ve proved their critics wrong with their recent success.
The popular group – formed in 2016 – have enjoyed a meteoric rise since winning the Eurovision Song Contest, and the band believes their recent success has justified their stubborn approach.
Frontman Damiano explained: “Everything started well, and then all of a sudden, people started trying to stop us from doing what we thought was the best thing for us.
“That kind of music with that aesthetic, communicating that way and people weren’t agreeing with us. But we kept believing in it and, in the end, they said we were right.”
Ethan Torchio, the band’s drummer, insisted the group have never deviated from their original plan, despite facing outside pressure and criticism.
He said: “The people who criticised us in the past days now are struggling. And they’re like, ‘You’re the best rock band ever, you’re incredible, you’re great.’ But you never said that before we were famous, so we don’t trust you.”
Damiano added: “Where are those people now? I don’t know. I think they’re having tough nights because we made it. I think they have a lot of itches.”
Despite this, Damiano has struggled to deal with his new-found fame.
The singer prefers spending time at home but he’s now having to adjust to his new reality.
He said: “I think it’s hard and everybody reacts in a different way.
“I struggled a bit because I’m a home guy, and I’m very chilled and I don’t really like to stay away from home for too long. But of course, you have to deal with it and find some ways to feel like you’re at home, even if you’re not. So I learned some tricks that helped me stay focused and healthy.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish wowed fans by bringing out Dave Grohl at her Los Angeles gig.
The ‘bad guy’ hitmaker was joined on stage at the Kia Forum on Thursday night (15.12.22) by the Foo Fighters frontman to cover the rock band’s 90s classic ‘My Hero’ acoustically.
Fans were in for one more treat, as Phoebe Bridgers came out to duet with Billie on her song ‘Motion Sickness’.
Earlier this week, Labrinth performed ‘I’ve Never Felt So Alone’ from the ‘Euphoria’ soundtrack with the 20-year-old Grammy winner.
Meanwhile, Billie is among the headliners for Reading and Leeds 2023.
Lewis Capaldi, Sam Fender, The Killers, Foals and Imagine Dragons have also been confirmed to top the bill when the iconic festival returns to Reading’s Richfield Avenue and Leeds’ Bramham Park on August 25 to 27 with its biggest lineup to date.
The six major headliners will be joined by an eclectic mix of artists in rock, indie, alternative, hip-hop and dance.
Becky Hill, Bicep Live, Wet Leg, Central Cee, Declan McKenna, Don Broco, Steve Lacy, MK, Inhaler, Slowthai, Tion Wayne and Trippie Redd were also confirmed in the first line-up announcement.
Along with the likes of Slowthai, Eliza Rose, Baby Queen, You Me At Six and The Snuts.
More names will be added to the bill in due course.
Headliner Sam said: “I first went to Leeds Festival with Dean when we were teenagers. We had a wild time, a rite of passage. Ten years later and we’re headlining. I’m so excited, it’s going to be f****** intergalactic! See you down the front.”
Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis said: “We’re so hyped to be back at Reading and Leeds. We’ll never forget the rush of headlining Leeds in the absolute pouring rain in 2016, a show that was one of our most intense ever, or back in 2008 at Reading feeling possessed, climbing the rigging and launching myself headfirst into the crowd.
“We’ve always had an amazing and feral time playing here, one of the greatest festivals in the world. It’s so special to be given a headline slot and we’re gonna rock it. Oh, and we might throw in a surprise or two.

Ronnie Vannucci of The Killers commented: “We have been hearing about Reading and Leeds since ever we can remember. Each time we return is a bigger mountain to climb. 2023 serves as no exception. See you at the top.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bono has announced the ‘Stories Of Surrender’ New York residency.
Due to phenomenal demand, the U2 frontman’s solo show in support of his memoir, ‘Surrender: 40 Songs, One Show’, will be heading to
The Beacon Theatre for eight evenings in April 2023, kicking off on April 16 and wrapping on May 3.
Much like the Irish music legend’s 14-city run across the UK, Europe and Ireland, Bono will offer the audience his “words, music and some mischief”.
The tome was released in November, and tells the remarkable story of the life of Bono – whose real name is Paul David Hewson – as he went on the “unlikely journey” from childhood tragedy in his native Ireland to becoming part of one of the world’s most successful bands of all time.
Fans get a candid and in-depth insight into the musings of the iconic musician, with 576 pages and 40 chapters named after the songs.
The deeply personal book recalls key moments “from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was 14, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his 20 years of activism dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty.”
In a statement regarding the memoir, Bono, 62, said: “When I started to write this book, I was hoping to draw in detail what I’d previously only sketched in songs.
“The people, places, and possibilities in my life. ‘Surrender’ is a word freighted with meaning for me. Growing up in Ireland in the seventies with my fists up (musically speaking), it was not a natural concept.
“A word I only circled until I gathered my thoughts for the book. I am still grappling with this most humbling of commands. In the band, in my marriage, in my faith, in my life as an activist. Surrender is the story of one pilgrim’s lack of progress… with a fair amount of fun along the way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — A lost SEGA game featuring the late Michael Jackson was discovered at a car boot sale in the UK.
The King of Pop’s FMV (Full-motion video) footage from his appearance in the 1993 arcade game ‘Scramble Training’ was bought second-hand and uploaded to YouTube for all to see.
‘Michael Jackson in Scramble Training’ would see players become pilots trained for their mission in an eight-man spacecraft by Commander Jackson.
However, it was rebranded to just ‘Scramble Training’ following the 1993 scandal that Jackson was broiled in when he was accused of abusing 13-year-old fan Jordan Chandler – and it no longer exists.
The pop culture icon was long connected to SEGA, and earlier this year, it was finally confirmed that the Moonwalking star composed the music for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3′.
Yuji Naka, the former head of Sonic Team at the Japanese video game company, confirmed the long-time rumour that Jackson – who died in 2009, aged 50 – created music for the 1994 video game whilst complaining that the soundtrack for the title has been changed in new compilation release ‘Sonic Origins’.
Yuji wrote on Twitter: “Oh my god, the music for Sonic 3 has changed, even though Sega Official uses Michael Jackson’s music.”
Yuji – who was a developer on the game – also questioned: “Does Sonic Origins 3 have a different song?”
SEGA social media manager Katie Chrzanowski stated in an interview with Tails’ Channel, a Sonic news Twitter account, that the original music had to be changed.
Katie said: “While unfortunately we can’t use the original sounds from the Mega Drive version of the game, Jun Senoue has been working really hard to adapt the original music that was composed in 1993 for ‘Sonic Origins’.”
The first rumours that surfaced questioning if the ‘Bad’ hitmaker was involved in the game’s creation came to prominence in 2006, after YouTuber Qjimbo produced a video highlighting the similarities between the music in the game and music made by Jackson.
It came after a 2005 interview with Robert Hector, the ex Sega Technical Institute director, who stated that the ‘Billie Jean’ singer was commissioned to be part of the project but was removed for the aforementioned 1993 abuse allegations.
Qjimbo asserted that the music was not removed and remained in the game as they are eerily similar to songs, such as Jackson’s ‘Jam’ to the game’s ‘Carnival Night Zone’.
In addition, the Grammy winner’s musical director Brad Buxer repeated the claims in 2009 but they were never confirmed by SEGA.
A 1997 PC port connected to the game held ‘new’ music was once discovered with tracks allegedly to replace Michael’s music. However, it is not known if they were scrapped for legal or technical reasons.
SEGA teamed up with the King of Pop to develop a beat ’em up game based on the 1988 film ‘Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker’.
The title – which featured Jackson’s biggest hits – was originally released in arcades and was a huge hit, later being ported to several home consoles.
It was well documented that Jackson was an avid gamer and had a gaming arcade at his Neverland ranch.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rina Sawayama, Years and Years, Kojey Radical and more set for BRITs Week presented by Mastercard for War Child 2023.
Each year, ahead of the main BRIT Awards ceremony, which will take place on Saturday, February 11 at the O2 arena, London, a series of intimate concerts take place in the British capital to raise money for the charity that supports children living in war-torn countries.
Rina is headlining Lafayette on February 10, Olly Alexander’s Years and Years will bring the fun to HERE at Outernet on February 2, and Mercury Prize-nominated Kojey plays XOYO on February 3
The Hunna kicks things off at Lafayette on January 29.
Other artists performing across the city include, Metronomy, Beabadoobee, The Snuts, easy life, Sea Girls, Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls and Bob Vylan.
More shows will be announced in January.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bublé has jokingly vowed to “cancel Christmas” if Lewis Capaldi’s song ‘Pointless’ doesn’t make it to number one.
This week, the latter joked he had a “gripe to grind” with the ‘Home’ singer as his new single is being thrashed by festive songs in the charts.
He quipped that he needed to have a word with the Canadian star, whose 2012 cover of ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’ is among those keeping his track co-written with Ed Sheeran from the top spot.
Lewis told the audience during filming for ‘In Concert with Lewis Capaldi’ for BBC Radio 2: “No one told me that it was probably a bad idea to release a song at Christmas, a song that has no reference to Christmas.
“We’re really being hammered in the charts by Christmas songs.
Not that it matters, but you know, these record labels want some money.”
He then quipped: ‘So, if anyone sees Michael Bublé, you let him know I’m looking for him. I’ve got a gripe to grind with Mr Bublé!”
And now, the 47-year-old star has backed Lewis to top the chart.
In a TikTok clip, he said: “This is a message to Lewis Capaldi and only Lewis Capaldi.
“Hi Lewis, now that I have you alone let me just tell you how deeply crushed I am that my music could ever get in the way of your song going to number one.
“It’s an amazing song and you’re an amazing dude, I am putting it on my Christmas playlist right now and I am telling you right now, Pointless is so beautiful.
“If it doesn’t go to number one, Christmas should be cancelled, and maybe even Hanukkah.”
Michael’s cover is currently number 10 in the Official UK Top 40, while Lewis’ tune is number 20.
Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is keeping the Queen of Christmas’s crown firmly on at the top spot.
Wham!’s ‘Last Christmas’ is at number three and Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John’s ‘Merry Christmas’ is up 15 places to number three.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith and Kim Petras look are discussing a follow-up to mega-hit ‘Unholy’.
The pop stars stormed the charts with the record-breaking tune earlier this year, and now Kim has revealed they are hoping to record a follow-up and continue their collaborative relationship.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Kim, 30, said: “I definitely am talking to Sam right now about having a song on my album that’s coming up.
“I would just love to keep collaborating because it’s really rare that you find artists that you’re on the same page with, who you write well with and who you want to be in the studio with.
“I really feel like we were meant to meet and we just have such a connection – like lost sisters from a past life. The song has been such a blessing which has brought me so much joy.
“I hear it at McDonald’s and every Uber I get into, it’s so wild.”
‘Unholy’ made them the first non-binary and transgender artists to sit atop the Billboard 100.
Meanwhile, Sam’s upcoming LP ‘Gloria’ is set to feature Ed Sheeran, Jessie Reyez and Koffee.
Jessie will be included on two of the record’s songs; the duet ‘Perfect’, and ‘Gimme’ along with Koffee, while Ed makes a guest slot on the last track on Sam’s fourth album – which is due out on January 27, 2023 – ‘Who We Love’.
Sam recently teased that the record will be filled with “absolute fun”.
The ‘Diamonds’ singer set out to make a record that “was full of joy” in their “sexy, raunchy, honest” LP ‘Gloria’, which will be released next month, they think they have achieved that.
Speaking backstage at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard at The O2 in London, Roman Kemp asked Sam: “You described the Ball as filthy, tinsel time, so how would you describe the album? What can we expect?”
To which they replied: “Filthy golden goose time. Oh you’ll see on tour… I mean there’s no gooses on tour actually…
“[Expect] Fun. Absolute fun. It was my task to write an album that was full of joy and I think I did it. And so it’s fun, it’s sexy, raunchy, honest. Yeah, I’m proud of it.”

The 75-year-old singer has teamed up with Roblox for a 10-minute virtual live experience called ‘Elton John Presents: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road’ and he’s delighted to have found a new way to connect with fans as he looks ahead to the end of his touring life, which will conclude in September 2023 following the final leg of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.
He said: “Throughout my career, I’ve always been interested in finding new ways to connect with my fans worldwide. As I finish touring, Roblox and the metaverse are perfect for this next stage of my life; it’s a new, innovative way for me to express my love of music, fashion, and the limitless creativity that comes from both.
“The beauty of Roblox, to me, is that there are no limitations. It offers people all over the world the opportunity to be themselves wholly and connect with people in a way they never have before. It’s a new world that allows fans and creators to be themselves completely.

OHMYGOSSIP — Muse have “always looked up to” Iron Maiden.
The ‘Won’t Stand Down’ hitmakers – comprising Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme, and Dominic Howard – “connected” over 90s American bands such as Nirvana, but always admired the “punk rock” attitude of the heavy metal veterans.
Matt told Classic Rock magazine: “Metal has always been around for us.
“When we were growing up we were listening to bands like Iron Maiden.
“And though we connected more through Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine and the Smashing Pumpkins, we always had this love for eighties metal. Metallica were also a big one for us, but Iron Maiden were the British band and also felt a bit more punk rock in ways.
“The song ‘Phantom Of The Opera’ [from Iron Maiden’s self-titled debut album] doesn’t feel as bloated or overtly classical as other metal songs. There’s still something quite angry and scary about it. That’s why Maiden are a band we’ve always looked up to.”
Matt also spoke of his admiration for Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen but admitted when he realised he’d never attain his technical mastery of the instrument, he opted for “noise, chaos and carnage” instead.
He said: “Yngwie was one of those people I got into in the early nineties when I first started playing. Clearly back then, I thought there was a chance! After a while I realised I simply couldn’t get to where he was, and sort of veered off towards more classical and flamenco guitar styles.
“Then I started listening to players like Hendrix and Cobain and felt: ‘You know what? I can do chaos. I can’t do this unbelievable technical precision, but what I can do is create a mess.’ So I went down the road of noise, chaos and carnage…. and little elements of the other things stayed with me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Feeder and Jake Bugg will headline the 2023 Teddy Rocks Festival.
The ‘Buck Rogers’ hitmaker will top the bill at the non-profit event – which raises money for children’s cancer charities – for the second time, while the ‘Lightning Bolt’ hitmaker makes his headline debut at Charisworth Farm in Dorset, with other artists announced on the diverse line-up include The Amazons, Vengaboys, The Reytons, East 17 and Goldie Lookin Chain.
The festival takes place over 28-30 April 2023, and Vengaboys, East 17 and Goldie Lookin Chain will form part of the 10 Year Pop Party being staged to celebrate its tenth anniversary.
Tom Newton, Teddy Rocks Festival founder said: “It has been an absolute rollercoaster taking this festival from the back room of a pub to where it is today. There have been some big lows and some unbelievable highs throughout. We have built an incredible team of volunteers who all share the same passion and vision to do good, so to be here launching our 10th teddy rocks is amazing! I’m really excited to see the event take on the next chapter and provide critical support for children and their families battling cancer.”
Tom launched the event in 2011 after his 10-year-old brother Ted died from a rare bone cancer called Ewings Sarcoma.
It began in the restaurant of The Greyhound pub in Blandford and raised £400, with the money used to fund the first Teddy Rocks event at The Corn Exchange in 2012, which raised £2,500.
In 2013, it moved back to The Greyhound and raised, £6,500, a sum which was more than doubled the following year, with £15,000 raised, rising again to a staggering £24,000 in 2015.
In 2016, the festival changed locations again to incorporate a growing audience and raised £42,800.
By 2017, Teddy Rocks was staged on a site large enough to host parking and camping and raised £42,800.
Since 2018, it has taken place in its current home of Charisworth Farm and to date has raised over £460,000 for charity.
All proceeds from Teddy Rocks Festival go to Teddy20 and other partner cancer charities including Young Lives vs Cancer, Bone Cancer Research and George’s Rockstars.

OHMYGOSSIP — Lizzo finds it “very hurtful” that she’s been accused of writing “music for white people”.
The ‘Good As Hell’ hitmaker accused her critics of “diminishing” her identity with the accusation, insisting she makes music which is for “literally everybody and anybody” because she doesn’t want to “gatekeep” her message.
Asked how she feels about the criticism, she told DJ Howard Stern: “[It’s] very hurtful, only because I am a Black woman, and I feel like it really challenges my identity and who I am, and diminishes that, which I think is really hurtful.
“I don’t try to gatekeep my message from people. So all three of those things for me, I’m just like, ‘You don’t even get me at all’.

The ‘Juice’ singer views her style as “funky, soulful, feel-good music” which has its roots in “a lot of Black music – that was made for Black people – in the ’70s and ’80s.”
Lizzo previously claimed pop music has “racist origins”.
She explained: “I think if people did any research they would see that there was race music and then there was pop music. And race music was their way of segregating Black artists from being mainstream, because they didn’t want their kids listening to music created by Black and brown people because they said it was demonic and yada, yada, yada.
“I think when you think about pop, you think about MTV in the ’80s talking about ‘We can’t play rap music’ or ‘We can’t put this person on our platform because we’re thinking about what people in the middle of America think’ – and we all know what that’s code for.”

OHMYGOSSIP — KISS have announced their final UK concerts.
The glam metal icons – comprising Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer – will bow out of touring after completing their ‘End of the Road’ farewell tour next year.
And their last-ever UK shows have now been announced, kicking off with Plymouth Argyle’s Home Park Stadium on June 3, before heading to Birmingham, Newcastle, London’s The O2, Manchester, and Glasgow on July 8.
The band said of the farewell jaunt: “All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years. This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t. KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable.”
The final UK shows follow their show-stopping headline set at Download Festival this summer.
Co-frontman and bassist Gene, 73, recently insisted KISS will “continue” beyond touring.
The ‘Rock and Roll All Nite’ hitmaker suggested this isn’t the last time fans will see them in their black makeup.
He said: “KISS the touring band will stop. But the touring band. KISS will continue in other ways. I have no problems with four deserving 20-year-olds sticking the makeup back on and hiding their identity.”
KISS first announced their retirement way back in 2000, and with 2023 set to mark the end of their touring career, it’s the longest farewell in musical history.

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Simz has released her latest album, ‘No Thank You’.
The 2022 Mercury Prize winner surprised fans last week by announcing her follow-up to her fourth studio album ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ would be released on December 12.
The news came only with the deep statement: “Emotion is energy in motion. Honour your truth and feelings. Eradicate fear. Boundaries are important.”
The 10-track LP is produced by Simz’ long-time collaborator, Inflo – who is a member of the R’n’B collective SAULT and penned three songs on Adele’s latest LP ’30’ – and the pair build on the strength of previous releases with this emotionally-charged outing.
Simz said her Mercury Prize triumph left her felling “humbled”.
She tweeted at the time: “Incredibly grateful and humbled. Mad journey. Thank you for the love, still processing so I don’t have many words but from the bottom of my heart thank you.”
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old star is also focusing on her acting ambitions, having already played Shelley in Netflix’s ‘Top Boy’ revival along with other projects.
She said recently: “For me, the idea is to be stretched, and not repetitive.”
Earlier in the year, the singer-and-rapper was forced to reschedule her US tour due to financial concerns.
She explained: “I take my live shows seriously and would only want to give you guys nothing but the best of me.
“Being an independent artist, I pay for everything encompassing my live performances out of my own pocket and touring the US for a month would leave me in a huge deficit.
“As much as this pains me to not see you at this time, I’m just not able to put myself through that mental stress.
“It’s important for me to speak my truth about this and be honest. I appreciate the love and excitement you guys have for seeing me live. Rest assured I will be there soon, back bigger and better.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift has “never felt more free to create”.
The pop megastar has not only been re-recording her first six albums, starting with ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’, but the prolific star has released three albums of original music in quick concession, 2021’s sister records ‘folklore’ and ‘evermore’ and October’s ‘Midnights’.
Speaking to ‘The Banshees Of Inisherin’ filmmaker Martin McDonagh for Variety’s ‘Directors On Directors’ series, she said: “I definitely feel more free to create now.
“And I’m making more albums at a more rapid pace than I ever did before, because I think the more art you create, hopefully the less pressure you put on yourself.”
The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker insisted she is “happier” when she’s busy making.
She added: “It’s just a phase I’m in right now. And everybody’s different. There are people who put an album out every five years and it’s brilliant and that’s the way they work. And I have full respect for that. But I’m happier when I’m making things more often.”
The ‘Karma’ hitmaker explained that an idea or a melody can come to her at any time of day, and she’s always swift to play it on the piano so she remembers it.
The 33-year-old star explained: “Sometimes it’s a fragment of a melody that has a lyric on it already. Sometimes it’s just a line and I’ll write it down and I’ll use it later.
“Sometimes it’s a melody that I have to go to the piano and then record and remember it. But the more that I’m writing, the more those ideas come. I’m just going with it.”
Taylor also helmed the short film ‘All Too Well’ to accompany ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’, and it’s just been revealed that the Grammy winner is to direct her first feature-length film from a script she wrote.
The musician, who has directed herself in music videos for songs including ‘The Man’ and ‘Anti-Hero’, is helming a movie that will be produced by Searchlight Pictures, it was announced last week.
Its plot and any casting is under wraps, but Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield hailed Taylor a “once in a generation artist and storyteller”.
They said in a statement announcing the project: “It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”
