OHMYGOSSIP — LFO co-founder Brian “Brizz” Gillis has died aged 47.
Brian’s former bandmate Brad Fischetti – who also co-founded the 90s boy band – admitted he is “struggling to process” his pal’s passing.
He wrote on Instagram: “Every story is made up of chapters. Some develop naturally. Some you have to cut up in your mind. The first two chapters of the LFO story lost a main character yesterday. Brian ‘Brizz’ Gillis passed away. I don’t have details and it wouldn’t be my place to share them if I did. I am really struggling to process this tragic loss. I’ve said it before and I will continue to say it; the LFO Story is a tragedy. If you know what I’ve been doing, you know I’m trying to bring light into the darkness. Trying find redemption in pain and suffering. Trying to honor the legacy. (sic)”
Brad admitted he had a “complex” relationship with Brian – who was in LFO from 1995 to 1999 – but he will now “lean on” the positive aspects of their friendship.
He wrote: “Today I honor my former bandmate and friend, Brizz. If you watched the LFO Story livestream or have seen the band and me play it live, you know what Brian meant to LFO. If it wasn’t for his hard work and dedication in the early days of LFO, the first two chapters, the LFO you came to know and (hopefully) love would not exist.
“My relationship with Brian was complex. It contained moments of great tribulation but also of great joy. I learned a lot from him about the business of music and how to put together and rock a show. And it’s those positive aspects of our relationship that I will lean on now and forever.
“I’ve prayed for Brian every day for many years. And I will continue to pray for him, for his beloved father, for his friends, his family, and those who loved him. Special prayers for Pistol Pete and Terry Edwards; two men who hold a special place in my heart and undoubtedly held a special place in Brian’s heart. (sic)”
Brad now hopes Brian is making music in a different place with late LFO co-founder Rich Cronin, who passed away in 2010 aged 36 from leukaemia, and Devin Lima, who replaced Brian in the group and passed away in 2018 aged 41.
He added: “I know that soon or maybe already, Brizz will be greeted by Rich and Devin. And I hope that together, they will make some sweet sounds. I would really like that.
“Rest east bro. Rest easy. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue has teased that the band could start making electronic dance music.
The 42-year-old singer is best known as the lead singer of the rock band alongside Mark Sheehan and Glen Power but has hinted that the boys could see a shift in their musical direction as they head back into the studio 18 months on from releasing their greatest hits album ‘Tales from the Script’ in 2021.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Since we did ‘Tales From The Script’, I feel like that’s a full stop on that era. I’m soaking up music right now. There are so many amazing people. When you’re successful, it’s very hard to keep your ear to the ground. I’m in the studio with the boys on Monday and we’re going in with electronic beat machines.”
Meanwhile, the ‘For the First Time’ hitmakers are due to support ‘So What!’ superstar P!nk later this year when she comes to the UK for her stadium tour over the summer but Danny went on to add that outside of being on stage, he has been behind the scenes songwriting with the likes of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ star Calum Scott and various Irish bands such as Picture This.
He added: “I’ve been in with Calum Scott and a lot of Irish bands like Picture This. I’ve had a few people down to the studio like James Morrison and Tom Walker.
I love it. But the more time I spend on other people, the more I want to get back out there myself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Perrie Edwards is enjoying “discovering” her own sound as she records her first solo album.
The 29-year-old pop star shot to fame as part of Little Mix alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, and Jade Thirlwall when they became the first band to win ‘The X Factor’ but since the group went on hiatus in 2022, she has signed a solo deal and explained there is “no deadline” for new music because she is “going with the flow.”
She told Grazia magazine: “My label have told me to just go with the flow and enjoy discovering what my sound is going to be, the fact there’s no deadline in my life just makes me the happiest person. I feel so lucky to just be having fun.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that close to signing a record deal with Columbia Records, which is also home to Harry Styles and Beyonce.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Perrie is super-talented and label execs think she could be a global star. They are very keen to ink a deal soon and talks have been ongoing. Perrie is bursting with ideas for solo material.”
The ‘Shout Out to my Ex’ hitmaker recently admitted she has been having “so much fun” in the recording studio working on her solo tracks.
She told OfficialCharts.com: “It’s all going really well. I’m just having so much fun experimenting with different sounds. It’s really good. I’m so lucky, I’m working with such amazing people. “I’m really grateful. I want to make music that I love.”
Of the Little Mix girls, Jesy – who quit the group in 2020 – became the first member of the group to release solo material when she teamed up with Nicki Minaj for ‘Boyz’ in 2021 and was having a home studio built earlier this year, whilst Leigh Anne signed a solo deal Warner Records in March 2022 and Jade has been in the studio working on her album with help from her Rizzle Kicks star boyfriend Jordan Stephens.
Speaking on the ‘Straight Up’ podcast, he said: “The big part of the relationship is sharing creative ideas. I absolutely love that. I love having her in the studio and I love going to the studio with her. I like telling her my ideas.”

OHMYGOSSIP — RAYE has got “big plans” for her Glastonbury performance.
The 25-year-old pop star – whose real name is Rachel Agatha Keen – is due to take to the stage at the annual Worthy Farm festival in June and teased that it will be the “best damn show” she has ever put on.
She told Apple Music: “I’ve got big plans for that, I have to go hard. Well, it’s Glastonbury. It’s got to be big, the best damn show I’ve ever put on.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Escapism’ singer went on to pay tribute to fellow pop star Charli XCX – who is also due to perform at Glastonbury – as she thanked her for directing her 2016 music video ‘I, U, Us’ and noted that her help “changed everything” for her.
She added: “Charli XCX took time out to direct a video for me. She invited me round to her house, we were practising lyrics in the mirror and different poses, and how I can perform and be more confident. It changed everything for me.”
RAYE – who became an independent artist after parting ways with her former record company Polydor – recently admitted that she would love to form a rock band with Charli XCX, along with ‘This Hell’ hitmaker Rina Sawayama and rap star Ivorian Doll before noting that she was “overwhelmed” by the success of her debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues.’
Speaking to POPSUGAR, she said: “Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, and Ivorian Doll. I feel like that would be a really dope, brilliant rock band.
“It felt and feels amazing. A long time coming. I’m honestly just really grateful – tired – but very, very grateful. It’s been very overwhelming, but beautiful.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Marti Pellow is “hugely proud” of his early hits.
The 58-year-old singer shot to fame as the lead singer of Wet Wet Wet in the 1980s alongside Neil Mitchell, Tommy Cunningham, Graeme Clark, and Lindsey McCauley, and as he prepares to head out on the road solo with the ‘Popped In Souled Out’ orchestral tour in 2024 in honour of the band’s award-winning debut album, noted that the record served as a “catalyst” for his dreams.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, he said: “I’m quite happy to have songs like ‘Angel Eyes and ‘Sweet Little Mystery’ in my repertoire, I’m hugely proud of that body of work that I did as a teenager. “That was the first album that brought me my BRIT Award, I got to our people like Elton John at a very young age around America, it was a catalyst for my dreams and it was all poured into that. I remember when I was looking at the arrangements for these songs when I was about to orchestrate them, I was looking at these songs as a 17-year-old or an 18-year-old and it conjured images of my mum and dad, my mum’s house. I remember thinking ‘If these songs are successful, I’m gonna be on ‘Top of the Pops’.”
The ‘Love Is All Around’ hitmaker went on to add that his “interaction” with music has changed over the years and noted his surprise at the fact that he has managed to garner a younger fanbase as he is often greeted by teenagers at the stage door.
He added: “And the closer I’m getting to 60 now, the way I interact with my music is completely different. As every decade unfolds, ‘Angel Eyes’ resonates in a different way with me.
“But most importantly, with the fanbase, they come, the generations change because of how people access music. So I will come out the stage door and see a 17-year-old with a ‘Popped In Souled Out’ t-shirt on and I’ll say ‘When were you born?’ and they’ll say ‘Two thousand and something!””

OHMYGOSSIP — Lisa Scott-Lee is “thrilled” to be part of the line-up for Manchester Pride 2023.
The 47-year-old pop star is best known as a member of dance group Steps alongside Faye Tozer, Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian ‘H’ Watkins but took to social media on Thursday (30.03.23) to announce that she will be performing a solo slot at the annual gay pride festival, which takes place from 25 until 28 August this year.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’ve got some electrifying news for you all! I am thrilled to announce that I’ll be performing at @manchesterpride this August! [rainbow emoji] It’s going to be an incredible celebration of love and acceptance, and I am so honoured to be a part of it! OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha and David Guetta are planning to make a dance album together.
The duo most recently came together for chart topper ‘I’m Good (Blue)’, and the 33-year-old singer already has big ideas for her next album even before her new record ‘Bebe’ drops next month.
She told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I’ve finished my album and I’m already thinking, what’s the next thing?
“I am thinking of doing a super dance thing, not over thinking it. David’s been talking to me about it.”
While the two stars have collaboration on a number of tracks over the years, at this point they are more like siblings than co-workers.
She added: “I get on his nerves sometimes and he gets on my nerves.
“He texted me the other day and said, ‘Bebe I love you so much even though you are like my annoying little sister.’
“And I was like, ‘Cool? Well you’re my annoying older brother.’ ”
Meanwhile, Bebe’s dream has come true after Dolly Parton agreed to feature on ‘Seasons’ on her upcoming LP.
She recently told the Metro newspaper’s Guilty Pleasures column, she said: “We connected to Dolly and sent her the song. A week later – it was so chill – she sent us her vocal, and I cried the first time I heard it. It’s about the seasons changing and also wanting to change for the better, after getting stuck in bad habits.”
The 77-year-old icon sings about “looking at herself in the mirror and still feeling like a child, nobody warning you that, when you grow older, you’re born and you die alone.”
Bebe said: “It’s a cool perspective because you’re getting it from her, where she is in her life versus where I’m at in mine … no matter what age you are, you’re searching.”
After the ‘Jolene’ hitmaker phoned in the vocals, Bebe got to meet her idol in person.
She gushed: “It was everything I expected: kind and beautiful, inside and out.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rage Against the Machine have yet to discuss rescheduling their cancelled tour.
The ‘Killing in the Name’ group had to cancel their 2022 UK and Europe dates and North American shows in 2023 after frontman Zack de la Rocha tore his Achilles tendon while performing, but his bandmate Tom Morello insisted he currently has no idea when or even if they will be going back out on the road.
Asked if they will tour again once Zack recovers, Tom told Rolling Stone magazine: “We’ll see. If there is to be any more shows, we will announce it as a band. I don’t know. I know as much as you do, honestly. Right now we’re in time of healing.”
And he claimed he doesn’t know if the band are now on indefinite hiatus.
Pressed on if that’s the current status of the group, he replied: “There is no term. Rage Against The Machine is like the ring in Lord of the Rings. It drives men mad. It drives journalists mad. It drives record industry people mad. They want it. They want the thing, and they’re driven mad.
“If there are Rage shows, if there are not Rage shows, you’ll hear from the band. I do not know. When there is news, it will come from a collective statement from the band. There is no news.”
The 58-year-old guitarist apologised for the lack of information but said he and his bandmates hadn’t been discussing musical matters.
He said elsewhere in the interview: “The conversations I’ve had with band members since the tour have been about life. It’s hard for me to explain…
“I don’t have news for you on that. I apologise. There’s nothing internal in our discussions that says either yes or no.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Neighbourhood star Jesse Rutherford launched his solo career because he “just needed a moment” for himself.
The 31-year-old singer – who is currently dating pop superstar Billie Eilish – has served as the frontman of the rock band since their formation in 20111 but now they are on hiatus has broken out as a solo artist with new songs ‘Joker’ and ‘Rainbow’ and admitted he knew it was going to happen “sooner or later.”
Speaking on Apple Music 1, he told Zane Lowe: “It’s a true solo journey, and the music is just kind of soundtracking what I’m going through in my life. And I thought it was kind of time to grow as an individual because I’ve put a lot of my time and energy into growing within relationships, which is a great thing. I mean, I love and I hold dear all my relationships, and I feel like I have a lot of strong ones.
“And even the ones that didn’t last, I feel like we’re lovely, and nobody’s on any sort of bad terms or anything. I just needed a moment for myself. It was just kind of like it had to happen sooner or later. ”
The ‘Sweater Weather’ hitmaker – who is now going by the mononym of Jesse as a solo artist – last released music in 2020 with the band’s fourth studio album ‘Chip Chrome and The Mono-Tones’ and added that having taken a break from the spotlight meant that now was the “best time” to launch into his solo career.
He added: “So this felt like the best time to do it. Honestly, taking some time away from touring and music in general was probably a really good thing for me. And even now, jumping back in, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, here we go.’ I wish I could sit here and be like, ‘Man, I’m so excited. Everybody’s got to go hear it.’ But I’m kind of like, ‘I mean, I’m being honest. I think it’s good, if you get around to listening to it.'”

The 31-year-old singer – who is best known as a member of Rizzle Kicks alongside Harley Alexander-Sule – has been dating former Little Mix star Jade, 30, since 2020 and explained he “loves” being in the studio with his significant other as she works on her first solo record away from the girl group after signing with RCA Records.
Speaking on the ‘Straight Up’ podcast, he said: “The big part of the relationship is sharing creative ideas. I absolutely love that. I love having her in the studio and I love going to the studio with her. I like telling her my ideas.”
The ‘Confetti’ hitmaker first found fame alongside Jesy Nelson, Leigh Anne-Pinnock, and Perrie Edwards in 2011 when they became the first group to win TV talent show ‘The X Factor’ and the quartet went on to sell more than 60 million records before Jesy quit in 2020 and the group ultimately went on hiatus two years later.
Jesy became the first member of the group to release solo material when she teamed up with Nicki Minaj for ‘Boyz’ in 2021 and was having a home studio built earlier this year, whilst Leigh Anne Pinnock signed a solo deal Warner Records in March 2022 and Perrie had been working on an album with songwriter Kamille but a source claimed towards the end of last year that while Jade has “what it takes” to be a solo singer, she was in “no rush” to do so.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “The stakes are massive. Jade has what it takes to become a huge star. It would be foolish to rush-release some half-hearted track. Jade has been in the studio a lot but at the moment it’s about planning for the future while enjoying a break following her 11 years in Little Mix.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran’s new album was inspired by his “unbreakable bond” with his wife Cherry.
The 32-year-old pop star has been married to childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn, 30, 2019 but she was diagnosed with a tumour while she was pregnant with their second child, Jupiter, and explained whilst launching his new album ‘Subtract’ on Monday (28.03.23) evening that the track ‘No Strings’ was inspired by the ordeal as well as advice his father had given him on marriage.
As he introduced the song to the audience at the Eventim Apollo in London, he said: “My dad said to me when I got married, ‘You will not know what real love and marriage is until there’s death and real sickness’. He said that because that happened when he first married my mum. There was real, real grief that happened in the family and real, real sickness that ended up in grief that they had to go through.”
Cherry is now recovering from her illness but the ‘Eyes Closed’ hitmaker – who also has two-year-old daughter Lyra with his wife – went on to add while he has always felt a “real closeness” with his significant other, it was her tumour that created an “unbreakable bond” between the pair.
He said: “He said that it really brought them together and once that happens it’s an unbreakable bond. I’ve been married now almost five years and I’ve always felt real, real closeness. But last year was when that unbreakable bond was made. I know you should feel that before with a marriage and children, but I really feel like ‘if we can get through 2022, we can get through anything’.
Ed also debuted track ‘Spark’ at the intimate event and explained how that song explores the notion of “moving on” from trauma.
He said: “You know in movies when people have break-ups and they put everything into the fire and go, ‘It’s a new dawn’? I feel like that’s a healthy thing sometimes, to move on and be like, ‘That was then and this is now’. The lyrics in this chorus are ‘We’ll build a fire, we’ll torch our old life and hope that the original spark of what made it amazing survives and we’ll just move on from it.'”
‘Subtract’ is due for release on May 5.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamera Mowry-Housley is to record three new songs.
The 44-year-old actress shot to fame alongside twin sister Tia in 1990s Nickelodeon sitcom ‘Sister, Sister’ and occasionally sang on the programme but according to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she will now return to music when she records ‘Dream That Dream’, ‘Bring It Back’ and ‘So Right’ for upcoming Hallmark movie ‘Dream Moms’, where she stars as a former backup singer who had dreams of making it big on Broadway.
Describing the movie – which is set to premiere on Mother’s Day in the US on May 14 – Elizabeth Yost, Senior Vice President of Development at Hallmark Media said: “On Mother’s Day weekend, we are excited to bring our viewers a movie celebrating moms and the overwhelmingly important role they play in their family’s lives. We hope people will be inspired by seeing the magic that can happen when you have the courage and support to follow your dreams.”
The ‘Twitches’ star – who competed on the US version of ‘The Masked Singer’ as Seashell in 2021 – recently admitted that she was desperate to sing and had hopes of releasing a festive album but explained that time constraints were the only issue.
She told OprahDaily: “This is the thing. I want to sing so badly. I want to do like a Christmas album, an inspirational album. I grew up listening to gospel. My mom, at one point that was the only thing you could listen to. It’s just the time. It’s funny because the moment I’m always like ‘I’m going to take a break, I don’t want to do nothing for a year…’ And then…now I’m in Canada. So my thing is I’ve got to just find the time. That’s not something that I want to just throw out. I want it to be my baby. I want it to be the only thing that I’m focusing on, and I know that if it’s in the cards for me to do it, I know God will present the opportunity. ”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Leadon has died at the age of 70.
The musician was one of the founding members of Tom Petty’s original band, Mudcrutch in 1970 and returned to the lineup along with Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, and Randall Marsh in 2007 but his brother Mark announced on Monday (28.03.23) that he had died of “natural causes” almost a week earlier.
In a statement, he said: “It is with great sadness, but profound love and gratitude for his life, that the family of Tom Leadon Nashville, Tennessee, and Gainesville, Florida, announce his passing on March 22, 2023. [He died] peacefully of natural causes.”
Tributes to Tom – who was also the brother of Eagles guitarist Bernie Leadon – were led by former bandmate Mike, who explained that he will “miss his spirit and generosity.”
He said: “Tom Leadon was my deepest guitar soul brother, we spent countless hours playing acoustic guitars and teaching each other things. A kinder soul never walked the earth. I will always miss his spirit and generosity. Sleep peacefully, my old friend.”
The ‘Scare Easy’ rocker last performed with Mudcrutch in 2017, a decade on from when they initially reunited, but in the 1970s had also acted as a temporary bassist for Linda Ronstadt’s band and joined country-rock band Silver in 1976 around the time they released their signature hit ‘Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang.’
Just two years after forming Mudcrutch, Tom quit the band and years later revealed that he chose to leave after wanting to branch out following arguments with bandmate Tom Petty, who passed away himself in 2017.
He is quoted by Variety as saying: “The reason I really left the band was, I had been wanting to go to Southern California and be part of the country-rock thing that had been going on there for a long time. great and they were doing the kind of thing I wanted to do which is more of a country-rock kind of thing. I became impatient at that point with the band’s progress toward that, and I didn’t have a lot of patience when I was 20 years old. I was kind of hot-headed and I had some kind of arguments with Petty. I was getting where I wanted to do more bluegrass and country music, and we weren’t hanging out as often any more.”

The 54-year-old pop superstar became the first female to have chart-topping albums across five consecutive decades when she released the smash hit ‘Disco’ in 2020 and will return to the music scene next week as she teams up with house DJ Oliver Heldens to release the brand new single ”10 Out of 10′ on Wednesday (05.04.23.)

OHMYGOSSIP — Owen Wilson had a lifetime access-all-areas pass to any Rolling Stones show in the world – but it was rescinded after just 24 hours when the self-confessed “bozo” wandered onto a forbidden part of the stage mid-gig.
The 54-year-old actor was watching the band play in Argentina when he decided to test out just which areas his AAA pass would allow him into, only for him to end up on a part of the stage that the band’s frontman and his pal Sir Mick Jagger, 79, was hurtling towards during his performance of ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’.
Speaking on ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’, he said: “I was kind of friendly with some of the band and then my friend was really good friends with Mick Jagger.
“We got [presented with] these special laminates, kind of all access, that were good for the rest of your life.
“That night, at the concert, I’m kind of wandering around and testing it out – like, ‘I’m going to walk over here and see if anybody stops me.’ And no one would stop me any place.
“I ended up right at this place where I could look over and see Mick Jagger on the stage, and right there and then, all of a sudden, he bolts during ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’ and comes running down.
“It turns out, where I was, was kind of part of the stage a little bit, so I just sort of froze and tried to be inconspicuous, and he kinda came down and left, and then someone came running over, [shouting,] ‘Get out of here! Move! You’re not supposed to be here!’ And I [said], ‘I didn’t know! I’m so sorry!’
“I go to bed that night still thinking, ‘Well, gosh, that was kind of a gnarly experience.’ ”
The ‘Wedding Crashers’ star also found out afterwards he was supposed to be wearing dark colours to the gig.
He said: “I was also dressed in a white T-shirt and white pants, and if you are at this part of the stage – where you’re not supposed to be – you should be in like dark colours where you blend in. So I get it, you know? He’s got a show to do.
“He doesn’t need some kind of bozo just cruising around distracting him.”
The show was ended up being the first and last time Owen would wear his AAA pass, as Mick’s security team picked it up the following day.
He explained: “Then I get a call the next morning from Mick’s security team asking, ‘Do you have that laminate?’ ‘Yes, I still have it.’ ‘OK, we’re going to come over and pick it up.’
“I only had it for 24 hours.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Procol Harum songwriter Keith Reid has died at the age of 76.
The composer – who was best known for having written the lyrics for almost every original track released by the English prog band, other than their twelfth and final studio LP ‘Novum’, released in 2017 – passed away last Thursday (23.03.23) after living with cancer for the past few years.
On Wednesday (29.03.23), the group – whose final line-up before disbanding in 2017 consisted of guitarist Geoff Whitehorn, bassist Matt Pegg, keyboardist Josh Phillips and drummer Geoff Dunn – wrote on Facebook: “We are sad to hear of the death of Keith Reid. An unparalleled lyricist Keith wrote the words to virtually all Procol Harum songs, as well as co-writing the John Farnham hit ‘You’re The Voice’. His lyrics were one of a kind and helped to shape the music created by the band. His imaginative, surreal and multi-layered words were a joy to Procol fans and their complexity by design was a powerful addition the Procol Harum catalogue. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.”
A further statement confirmed that the ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ lyricist – who is survived by his wife Pinkey – had been receiving treatment for cancer over the course of the last few years.
The statement read: “It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce the passing of the lyricist Keith Reid, who died suddenly on 23 March 2023, in hospital in London. He had been receiving cancer treatment for the past couple of years.
“Keith was the co-founder and lyricist for the band Procol Harum, notably penning their biggest hit ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’, which contains some of the most enigmatic lyrics of all time. He always said that, at the end of his life, he would explain what it all meant: but sadly he didn’t get this opportunity.
“Keith was also involved in numerous other projects within entertainment, and was a co-writer on what became known as the unofficial Australian anthem ‘You’re The Voice’, sung by John Farnham.
“His family would like to thank numerous well-wishers for their very kind messages. A private funeral will be held, and this page will be updated soon with details for those who would like to make a donation in his memory.
“Keith will be greatly missed.”
