OHMYGOSSIP — Future has cancelled the final two dates of his North American tour.
The rapper’s ‘One Big Party’ trek kicked off at the start of the year before being extended with more shows and it was due to conclude at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Saturday (08.04.23).
However, he has now axed the last show as well as another planned performance at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri on Friday (07.04.23) – meaning the last night of the tour was Thursday evening’s (06.04.23) performance at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Future told Billboard in a statement: “It breaks my heart that I will no longer be connecting with my fans in Kansas City and Minneapolis. I look forward to reconnecting with each of you at another time. Thank you for all your love and support through the years. Love Future.”
No reason was given for the cancelled shows.
The tour previously took in cities including Dallas, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and featured special guests including Don Toliver, G Herbo, Mariah The Scientist and Dess Dior.
Future recently hinted he’s working on new music this year, telling fans back in February he was in “album mode”.
In a post on Twitter, the 39-year-old hip-hop star – real name Nayvadius Wilburn – wrote: “Moving different all 2023. I’m in album mode.”
His previous collaborator Metro Boomin also suggested they have worked on some tracks together, telling Apple Music’s Ebro Darden: “I was like, ‘Look, the last time anybody’s really heard a song from me and you was ‘Mask Off’. So instead of us randomly throwing one or two songs we did on here, we got to wait and just give them a joint’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Mason would love a Pink Floyd reunion.
The ‘Comfortably Numb’ group’s sticksman, 79, would drop everything to perform again with his former bandmates – but it’s unlikely due to an ongoing war of words between David Gilmour and Roger Waters.
Nick told The Sun newspaper of the possibility of a reunion: “You never know what will be thrown up. I’m tempted to say I’m available for anything.”
Bassist and vocalist Roger, 79, and guitarist David, 77, have had a fraught friendship over the years.
Just recently, the former – who quit the group in 1985 – has been re-recording their seminal album ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’, and he took aim at David and late keyboard player Richard Wright, rubbishing their contributions to the psychedelic rockers’ success.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph newspaper, Roger said: “They can’t write songs, they’ve nothing to say. They are not artists! They have no ideas, not a single one between them. They never have had, and that drives them crazy.”
Meanwhile, David’s wife accused Roger of being an anti-Semite.
Polly Samson claimed that he holds anti-Semitic views and is a “Vladimir Putin apologist”, with David sharing her message on Twitter along with the statement “every word demonstrably true”.
The author-and-lyricist appeared to be responding to an interview Roger gave to a German newspaper, in which he defended some of Russia’s actions in the war with Ukraine.
Roger previously attempted to make peace with David when he met up with him and Nick, but it didn’t go to plan and he insisted that a reunion is just not going to happen.
He told Rolling Stone in 2020: “It wouldn’t be nice. It would be f****** awful. Obviously, if you’re a fan of those days of Pink Floyd, well then you have a different point of view. But I had to live through it. That was my life. I know in the wake of it I’ve been cast as something of a villain by whoever … so be it! I can live with that. But would I trade my liberty for those chains? No f****** way.”
Roger insisted that he had tried to make amends.
He shared: “About a year ago, I convened a sort of Camp David for the surviving members of Pink Floyd at a hotel at an airport in London, where I proposed all kinds of measures to get past this awful impasse that we have and the predicament we find ourselves in. It bore no fruit, I’m sorry to say, but one of the things I asked for, I suggested that because whoever the 30 million of you are who subscribe to the web page, you do so because of the body of work the five of us created: That’s Syd (Barrett, me, Rick (Wright), Nick (Mason) and David (Gilmour) over a number of years. And in consequence, it seems to me that it would be fair and correct if we should have equal access to you all and share our projects. David thinks he owns it. I think he thinks that because I left the band in 1985, that he owns Pink Floyd, that he is Pink Floyd and I’m irrelevant and I should just keep my mouth shut.”

OHMYGOSSIP — George Ezra has announced a Sunday takeover at Latitude festival.
The ‘Green Green Grass’ hitmaker has selected three up-and-coming artists, Lewis McLaughlan, Ella Clayton and Iris and Steel, to play the renowned extravaganza’s Alcove stage on July 23 to give back to the festival he’s a regular at and will headline that evening.
He said: “Latitude festival holds lots of brilliant memories for me, from being in the crowds to performing over the years. This year I am not only performing on Sunday but have been given the pleasure of curating the line-up for The Alcove Stage, these artists have been soundtracking my travels for the past few months and I can’t wait for them to light up The Alcove Stage.”
The festival takes place at the picturesque grounds of Henham Park, Suffolk, between July 20 and 23.

The ‘Shotgun’ hitmaker recently shared how he thinks about festival crowds when working on new music.
George, 29, feels “at home” performing in a field amongst a wide range of artists, and because his songs always go down well in the environment, he thinks about how new tracks would come across in a live setting when he’s in the recording studio.
He explained to Magic Radio: “With every show you do, especially at the beginning, you start to learn what you’re a part of, and it was obvious early on that we were so at home at festivals, and then when you go back to the studio, of course that’s in your mind to some degree, that’s where the music is. So festivals and live performances, that’s what we look forward to.”
George’s last album was June 2022’s ‘Gold Rush Kid’.
Meanwhile, George recently shared his mammoth trek from Land’s End to John o’ Groats, which saw him walk 30 miles a day and complete the route in 95 days, in the Amazon Prime Video doc ‘End to End’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich feels “younger and more clueless than ever” as he approaches his 60th birthday.
The sticksman will turn the milestone age in December but insists he doesn’t feel “old” thanks to his obsession with the gym and his Peloton exercise bike.
He told the new issue of Metal Hammer magazine: “Surely there must be some mistake.
“When people turn 60, aren’t they supposed to feel old?
“I don’t feel very old. I feel in some perverse way younger and more clueless than ever. But it is what it is. I’m accepting of the things you can’t change.”
The heavy metal legends are preparing to release their 11th studio album ’72 Seasons’ on April 14, while they are also gearing up for the mammoth ‘M72 World Tour’ – but show no signs of slowing down.
Asked about how long they can keep going, Lars said: “How long is a piece of string?
“If I keep sitting on that Peloton and everybody else stays in good shape, then knock on wood, hopefully, a few years still. Look at the Stones. Look at McCartney.”
When it comes to making albums, Lars insists the ‘Nothing Else Matters’ rockers still haven’t figured out a shortcut to make records faster.
’72 Seasons’ is the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hardwired… to Self-Destruct’, a gap of seven years.
He said: “I don’t know how possible it would be to make an album in a shorter amount of time.
“We do take it seriously and we do try to do the best we can.
“But as we get older, it doesn’t feel like we’re any closer to cracking the code on any of it than we were 10 years ago, or 20 years ago, or 30 years ago.
“I mean, you can romanticise about having to finish an album on the 28th of the month because you’re about to run out of money, especially if you’re sitting freaking the f*** out and trying to figure out what’s up, down and sideways, but I guess at the end of the day, I wouldn’t change a thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen are set to record new songs with Adam Lambert.
32 years after the band dropped ‘Innuendo’, their final album released in late frontman Freddie Mercury’s lifetime, guitarist Brian May has revealed that they are considering recording new music with former ‘American Idol’ star Adam.
Speaking on US radio, Brian said: “We have dabbled a little. It is just that you haven’t heard any of it. It would have to be something so special that we would feel we would want to launch it on the public.”
Adam added: “It’s a lot of pressure if you think about it. If they’re going to put something out that’s new, it’s got to be at a certain level. It has to be the right thing. And I’ve always said, ‘Is it appropriate for me to be doing new material?’ I feel like it scares me.”
Talk about new Queen music will come as a surprise to fans, as Brian recently said he doesn’t think Queen will ever make an album of new songs with Adam because the band’s fans love Freddie too much.
The legendary rock band have been touring with the ‘American Idol’ runner-up since 2012 with their tours earning rave reviews and getting bigger and bigger.
There has been much talk and speculation about Queen recording their first LP of new material since Freddie died from AIDS in November 1991 at the age of just 45, and although Brian, Adam and drummer Roger Taylor have laid down some potential songs in the studio, they have been deterred by Queen fans who are opposed to the idea.
In an interview with Total Guitar magazine, he said: “We have been in the studio. We did knock a few ideas around in the middle of one of those tours. But it just never quite reached the place where we felt it was going to be right. So we haven’t pursued it that far.
“I really don’t know. But I think there’s a bit of a barrier there. I think if people see Queen on a record label, they still want it to be Freddie singing. It could be Jesus Christ on it, but they’d still want Freddie, and I don’t blame people for that.
“There are people on Instagram who get annoyed with me, ‘Why are you still carrying on without Freddie?’ And I go, ‘Don’t tell me what I should do! I do what I feel I should be doing.’”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue’s new album will be filled with dance tunes.
The 54-year-old popstar is working on the follow-up to her 2020 record ‘Disco’ and it is set to usher in her “strong and empowered era”.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “There’s a real sense of power and freedom across all the new songs on the album. It definitely feels like Kylie’s strong and empowered era.”
Songs Kylie has recorded include ‘When You Love Someone’, ‘Hold On To Now’ and ‘Tension’.
However, despite the upbeat dance tracks on the album, Kylie is expected to pour her heartbreak over her relationship splits into a new single.
The star recently split from her boyfriend of five years Paul Solomons, 47, and has reportedly teamed up with producer Sky Adams, with whom she worked on hits ‘Dancing’ and ‘Stop me from Falling’.
A source told Mail Online: “Kylie has partnered with the producer Sky Adams to produce emotional dance music for her next record and will detail the breakdown of some of her past relationships with the record.
“The pair have spent weeks writing new songs for her album and have found a single which addresses the need for people to communicate clearly in a relationship.”
Kylie was reported in February to have split from former British GQ creative director Paul after they apparently struggled with the long-distance aspect of their relationship, as the singer lives in Australia, while the Welshman is in London.
A source told The Sun: “Kylie and Paul really tried to make things work but ultimately the time difference was a killer.
“Paul couldn’t exactly nip to Melbourne for a long weekend whenever things got strained.
“Kylie initially wanted to keep the split quiet though as she really does not want the narrative to be ‘poor, unlucky-in-love-Kylie’s heartbreak’s again’.”
Kylie was engaged to actor Joshua Sasse, 35, after they began dating in 2014, before they split three years later, and previously dated model Andrés Velencoso, 45, and French actor Olivier Martinez, 57, from whom she split in 2007 after a five-year relationship,

OHMYGOSSIP — Europe’s Joey Tempest admits it was a “drag” having their looks compared to Bon Jovi.
The ‘Final Countdown’ group’s frontman admits teen magazines made up the “rivalries” between Europe and other 80s bands, including the ‘It’s My Life’ group, but they couldn’t “complain”.
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, the 59-year-old rocker said of the comparisons: “It was quite a surprise for these suburban kids from Stockholm.
“We had done two albums, but then the promotion for ‘The Final Countdown’ kicked in and suddenly the teeny magazines were all over us. My initial thing was that I wanted to look like Robert Plant, but [the big hair] became something. We were being pitted in rivalries with these other bands, which was not the case. Right from the start we had wanted to be a touring rock band like Deep Purple, and suddenly these stupid questions [from pop magazines] were coming left, right and centre. We hadn’t expected that. It was kind of a drag for a while but we’re Swedes, we work hard and don’t complain.”
The band are embarking on a 40th anniversary tour entitled ‘The Time Capsule’, which kicks off in Switzerland on September 30, and Joey has confirmed new music is in the works.
He said: “Some writing has been going on and we’re at the stage where we are listening to what we have. It seems as though there’s more than we need. Some of them are amazing. I would like to release a couple of songs before the anniversary tour, though I’m not going to promise that will happen – because we want them to be special – but we will try to make it happen.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Rutherford says Genesis’ final show felt “bizarre” and “emotional”.
The prog rock legends – also including Phil Collins and Tony Banks – played their last-ever concert at London’s The O2 arena on March 26, 2022, and the co-founding member admitted it started to get real for him when he glanced at their setlist and saw there were only a handful of songs left to perform.
Speaking to Classic Rock magazine, he said: “It was nice afterwards when everybody, including Peter [Gabriel] and Richard McPhail [tour manager from the seventies), was together in the dressing room. Apart from that we kept backstage closed off.
“But the actual show felt bizarre. I was kind of okay until I saw on my setlist that there were just four songs left. Seeing that in print made me emotional, but having got through all of the problems with Covid, it felt very good to see things through.”
However, Mike, 72, admits their last tour, entitled ‘The Last Domino?’, was a “joy”.
He said: “I tend to forget how much the music means to people’s lives. For instance, we did a couple of shows in America in a city we hadn’t played in 30 years and sold out both nights. It proves what a lovely reach Genesis had. There was some sadness, but I thoroughly enjoyed our last tour. It’s always a joy to be onstage with Phil and Tony.”
The musician’s other band, Mike and The Mechanics, are embarking on a tour, which kicks off in York on April 12, and they will be joined by Phil’s son Nic Collins on drums as Gary Wallis has been having medical treatment.
The 21-year-old sticksman also got behind the kit in the place of his 72-year-old dad on the Genesis tour, as due to a spinal injury, he’s struggled to perform in recent years, having to sit to sing and play tambourine on the run.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosalia admits touring is “very draining”.
The 29-year-old Spanish star admits being a “nomad isn’t easy psychologically or emotionally” and she is glad she has her partner, Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro, 30, on the other end of the phone.
Asked how she copes on the road in a joint interview with her boyfriend, the ‘Malamente’ hitmaker told Billboard magazine: “Notwithstanding the joy and goodwill, and the love you get from fans, it’s very draining. It’s like constantly building and destroying your home. You arrive at a hotel, you organise everything with all the care in the world, and the next day, you have to dismantle everything and leave. Being a nomad isn’t easy psychologically or emotionally.
“But it helps me a lot that you and I speak so much over FaceTime.”
The pair insist their relationship comes before their music careers.
Rauw said: “When I met Rosi, she was positioned much better than me, and that was never a problem.”
Rosalia added: “I’m lucky to be your partner, and I want to be there for you, sabes? And I feel you’re there for me, independent of the careers. For me, our relationship is first, and then there’s everything else. Of course my career is super important in my life, but at the same time, in my life, you’re my companion, and everything else comes second.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Talia Mar feels “much more at home” making pop music.
The 26-year-old singer initially achieved success when she collaborated with Sigala on the hit dance song ‘ Stay the Night’ but is after releasing her own single ‘Self Portrait’ and admitted that while it was an “honour” to have worked in the house genre, she is much more comfortable now she is back on the pop scene.
She told The Daily Star’s Wired column: “I was really honoured to have had the opportunity to work on those songs but they are dance and you can
really pigeonhole yourself. Growing up | didn’t sing that kind of music and it didn’t come super natural to me doing the dance sound. I feel much more at home doing the
poppy, R and B music. | love the 90s, early 2000s R and B and, where | can, | try to interject that into the music I am making.”
Talia went on to tease that an EP could be on the cards at some point in the future, because people have “no idea” what to expect from her right now so a small album would act as a “showcase” for them.
She added: “I really want to put together an EP, a showcase of what | am trying to do, as | think right now people have no idea what to expect.
Talia previously described her own music as being a cross between that of country superstar Taylor Swift and pop singer Craig David as she noted that making her chart debut as a solo artist felt like a “dream.”
She told OfficialCharts.com: “If I could describe my music in a sentence, it would be if Taylor Swift and Craig David had a baby. I love that. That’s what I want to be. It actually feels like I’m dreaming. I feel like I’m dreaming because this can’t be real, right? If I wake up, the song won’t be coming out. I have moments where I’m really nervous, but then I get excited again. The closer we get, the less nervous I get. That’s a good sign, right?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Doja Cat has declared she’s done with pop because it’s no longer “exciting”.
The musician made the admission in a series of post on Twitter in which she told her followers she’s eyeing a musical change for her upcoming fourth album and plans to focus her efforts on rap in future even though she admits many of her spoken word verses are “mid and corny”.
She wrote: “No more pop … Pop isn’t exciting to me anymore. I don’t wanna make it.”
The singer added: “I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that I can’t so I will …
The singer went on to tease her followers by joking about her new album – believed to be titled ‘Hellmouth’ – in a post which read: “It’s gonna be a french conceptual experimental country/bohemian fusion with the essence of blue-grass.”
Doja Cat went on to joke she’s done with music all together before adding that she was only playing about, tweeting: “Ima finish this album y’all don’t worry.”
The singer previously announced she was planning to call her fourth record ‘Hellmouth’ and reports suggested it had been slated for a 2023 release.
Late last year, Doja Cat hinted the album will feature a change of direction as she was excited about being able to rap on ‘Vegas’ the song she contributed to the ‘Elvis’ movie soundtrack.
Speaking to Variety, she explained: “I went in and I was like: ‘Finally, I get to rap again.’ A lot of people discredit me, so it’s nice to just put another one in the f****** bucket for a great rap song.”
Doja Cat added of her musical ambitions: “I want to explore punk. But not pop-punk. I feel like we have enough pop-punk artists right now. And if there needs to be more, then let there be more, but I don’t think I’m the one to do it.
“I want to explore more of a raw, unfiltered, hardcore punk sort of thing. It’s just something that I’m doing for my own personal fun – getting some drummers and guitarists together. And I don’t even know if that’s gonna make it out there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Anitta has parted ways with Warner Music after 11 years.
The ‘Envolver’ singer has amicably left the major label after complaining that they were not doing their job properly.
In a joint statement, the label and artist said: “After eleven years of successful partnership, we’ve agreed to go our separate ways.
“Anitta would like to thank the Warner Music team for all their support. And the Warner team wishes Anitta all the best in future.”
The 30-year-old Brazilian star recently wrote on Instagram: “I asked the label to just do the simple job they were supposed to: promote my music.”
Anitta admitted she would have sold her organs to get out of the contract.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, she divulged in Portuguese and English: “My love, if I had a fine to pay, I would have already auctioned off my organs, no matter how expensive it was to get out. But unfortunately, it doesn’t [work that way].
“When you’re young and still don’t know much, you have to pay close attention to the things you sign… if not you can spend a lifetime paying for the mistake.”
Anitta also hit out at Warner for using her photo and song to mark International Women’s Day last month.
She fumed: “Communication at Warner is so good that [they’re] posting me on a Happy women’s day looping post, even tho I had to go public to ask for the ‘woman respect’ that this date represents. (sic)”
And she claimed they told her ‘Envolver’ wouldn’t be a hit without getting a major artist featured on it.
She added how the label’s post used the song “they said would never break without a feat cuz I wasn’t strong enough for that. (sic)”
Variety reports that the label hoped ‘Envolver’ – which went viral on TikTok last year – would have the same success in the US as it had in Latin American.
However, Warner hasn’t commented on this.

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan wants to make a “heavier” rock record.
The former One Direction singer is a big fan of 1970s bands such as Led Zeppelin and would love it if he could channel his influences into some new songs that would take his music in a very different direction from his signature sound.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I really want to lean into that 70s rock thing.
“I really want to lean into it, some of my favourite stuff is from the 70s and it is heavier.
“So I would love to get into that because I feel like it really suits my voice when I do sing it whether that be drunk or on karaoke or something.
“But yeah, I like that kind of thing.”
The 29-year-old singer joked writing his upcoming third solo album ‘The Show’ was harder than usual because he’s so happy with girlfriend Amelia Wooley.
He said:” It’s different to what I have done before, the heartbreak stuff because I am not heartbroken so I had to think of something else!”
Niall also admitted he may have taken his love of knitwear too far after being teased by fans over his cardigan collection.
He laughed: “I probably have 20-something, 20 cardigans, you can only wear one every day, well maybe 30…”
The ‘Heaven’ singer recently admitted it was “scary” bringing out a new album after a three-year break.
Announcing ‘The Show’ in a letter to fans, he wrote: “What makes this record incredibly special to me is it’s a reflection of where I am in my life today, as a person, a musician, and of course, as a songwriter. Can’t say I’m not a little nervous, but hopefully, you’ll still like this version of me when you listen to the new record.
“There’s something really scary about being away for so long and coming back with new music, but I couldn’t be more thankful for all you amazing people that have stood by and supported me all of these years.
“These songs are for you, as much as they are for me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelly Clarkson takes a swipe at her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock on her upcoming song ‘Mine’.
The ‘Since U Been Gone’ hitmaker has shared a preview of the new tune, which is set for release on April 14 and is the lead single from her forthcoming LP ‘Chemistry’.
She sings: “Someone’s gonna show you / How a heart can be used / Like you did mine.”
Announcing the album last month on Instagram, Kelly wrote: “It is officially time to tell you that I’ve been working on this project for close to three years now. I wasn’t sure I was going to release it, but I am.
“It’s called Chemistry because I was trying to find a word that really described the whole thing ’cause I didn’t want everybody to think that I was just coming out with some just like, ‘I’m angry. I’m sad,’ just one or two emotions.”
Fans can expect to hear about “the good, the bad, and the ugly” from her relationship with Brandon.
She continued: “This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn’t be just brought down to one thing. So there’s the good, the bad, the ugly thing kinda going on in it,” the Kelly Clarkson Show host continued. “Chemistry can be a really amazing sexy, cool, fun thing, but it can also be very bad for you. I thought it was kinda the perfect title to describe the entire album.”
The 40-year-old singer previously admitted making the record was like therapy for her following her divorce.
The ‘Breakaway’ hitmaker poured her heart out on her follow-up to 2017’s ‘Meaning of Life’, which encapsulates “every emotion” of being in a relationship and a breakup.
Kelly – who filed for divorce after seven years of marriage to the 46-year-old talent manager in June 2020 – teased that it’s her “most personal” record to date.
Speaking on ‘Sunday Today with Willie Geist’, she spilled: “This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released.
“The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship, to the end of what it is now.
“It’s been very therapeutic for me.
“It’s very honest.”
The pair’s children, River, eight, and Remington, six, had been singing along to one track on the record, which was “weird” for Kelly, as it’s about her relationship with their father.
She said: “There’s one that my kids sing in the car. ‘Cause I’m going through mixes, and I’m just, like, ‘This is weird.’ “Like, it’s your relationship. I’ve never written about my life to where my kids are, like, singing along.”

The 32-year-old pop star – who is the daughter of music legend Annie Lennox – has shared a collection of songs that capture “a moment” in her life.
In a statement, she said: “I called this EP ‘Dreamer’ because I wouldn’t be who I am today without dreaming. Being a dreamer showed me my heart’s desire and gave my life vision and purpose. The word perfectly encapsulates every song on the EP because they were created from the seed of a dream, from a wistful moment where I lose track of the literal world and connect to something transcendent. I am very excited to share this body of work, each song captures a moment in my life, and together they portray a story of me, a broader sense of my experiences and reactions. Making the music on this EP has been some of the best times of my life, it has been so rewarding to see my ideas come to life, to be challenged and to grow, and finally, to share my work with others.”
Lola’s mother, 68, had a hand in executive producing the EP alongside her daughter’s 32-year-old musician partner Braeden Wright.
She previously admitted she felt insecure about following her parent into the music industry.
Lola admitted that the idea of becoming a singer like her mum was daunting at first.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she said: “When I was younger, I had insecurity around this. The bar felt incredibly high and it felt like I had to do a lot of work to get to a place where I was good enough to be an artist in my own right. But that made me work really hard. I got better as a singer and was able to write songs that I thought deserved to be heard. So I feel like I’ve worked through it.”
Lola’s father is Israeli film producer Uri Fruchtmann, 68, and her sister is model Tali Lennox, 30, but she says they were not a starry family growing up.
She said: “[My mother] doesn’t feed into the celebrity lifestyle. She was just like a normal mum, never in front of the cameras much. I’m proud of her for the balance she found between working and being a parent. When we were little, she didn’t tour for a long time. It wasn’t until I was about ten that she started again.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Childish Gambino originally wrote ‘This Is America’ as a “Drake diss”.
The 39-year-old actor-and-rapper – whose birth name is Donald Glover – has revealed his 2018 hit, which was about the Black Lives Matter movement and features a host of rappers including Young Thug, Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, BlocBoy JB, Quavo of Migos, and 21 Savage, was intended to poke fun at the ‘God’s Plan’ hitmaker.
He told GQ magazine: “[It] was a funny way of like doing [a Drake diss], but then I was like, ‘This s*** sounds kind of hard, though.’ So I was like, ‘Let me play with it.’ So we just had that for a long time, I told Hiro [Murai, his regular collaborator] the idea, and he was like, ‘Oh, let’s do it.’”
The song was released at the same time Glover hosted ‘Saturday Night Live’.
He used his time on the late-night sketch show to highlight the lack of diversity in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.
Reprising his role of Lando Calrissian, he said: “I’ll say it — turn out was a little low.
“I held out hope that there was a black human planet somewhere but I guess it’s just us. Lots of lizard-men wearing vests. Just four black people, though.”
He recalled: “I was like, ‘How do you make people care about anything anymore? There’s just so much s***.’ Well, you have to have a moment in real time – which was [‘Saturday Night Live’].
“Fam and Chad, Wolf and Rothstein were like, ‘OK, we’re going to do this ‘SNL’ thing, we’ll drop it at midnight…’ Also the feeling of what was happening at the time – because [of] all the uprisings and riots that were happening – [that] really informed my writing and stuff. I was having sessions with [Young Thug] and all these people, and I was like, ‘Hey, would you want to get on [this song]?’ I was making it like ‘We Are The World’ for trap. It just became something where I was like, ‘Yo, it needs to feel like all of it.’”
In the same interview, Glover admitted he doesn’t believe his career would have been the same if he had succeeded in his ‘SNL’ cast audition.
He said: “I dodged so many bullets. Me being on ‘SNL’ would’ve killed me.”
Glover added: “But if I got on ‘SNL,’ my career wouldn’t have happened. And thank God.”
