OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has revealed that he is likely to take to the stage even after retiring.
The 76-year-old music legend confirmed that he will “not be going on tour again” once his marathon Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour comes to a close in Stockholm on July 8 but hinted that he is not prepared to give up on performing completely.
Elton said: “Touring is exhausting for me now, and it takes me away from my family and my children.”
He added: “There maybe the odd show…”
The ‘Rocketman’ hitmaker explained that he was ready for “a little bit of freedom” after spending so much time away from his husband David Furnish and their sons Zachary, 12, and Elijah, 10.
The singer will occasionally play gigs such as the Emmy promotion evening in Los Angeles to promote the Disney+ show ‘Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium’.
Elton’s farewell tour began back in 2018 and is already the most lucrative in music history, earning £678 million with two months of performances still remaining.
It is estimated that it will earn an astonishing $1 billion by the 330th and final gig.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed by his husband that Elton wants to celebrate his retirement with a holiday to the Antarctic.
David said in a chat with ‘Your Money Map’: “There are places I’d like to travel and take the boys. I have a real fascination and love of India… and our sons both want to go to the Antarctic, and Elton wants to go as well.
“I have no idea how to get there. Or what you do when you get there. But it’s something that we can all do together, which is great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Timbaland thinks everyday life is “full of music”.
The 51-year-old record producer has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry during his career, including Jay Z, Madonna, Rihanna, and Justin Timberlake, and he’s admitted to finding inspiration in all sorts of places.
The producer – whose real name is Timothy Mosley – said during the 2023 Pop Conference at New York University: “I feel like life is full of music. As soon as you wake up, hearing the trees, that’s music. Hearing the crickets, that’s music. I feel like everything that we do is music.”
Timbaland explained that he was forced to look in unusual places for musical inspiration, because he grew up in modest surroundings.
The producer has always leaned on the sounds of nature for his hit records.
He shared: “When you come outside, listen to the trees, the birds, the crickets, the animals, they all make music. So that’s always been my thing because we didn’t have money when I was growing up, so how could you make music? And my thought was how do you get your gift out when you don’t have the necessary tools to do it?
“So I always pulled on nature, ’cause I pulled on buckets, spoons, cans to make my beats because I couldn’t afford a drum machine, so I never dialled away from nature, because nature moulded who I am today.
“I always wanted to use nature to be in my songs, just things that we see every day, things that we hear every day.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Blink-182’s new album is likely to be finished before they complete their upcoming tour.
The rock band are set to embark on a world tour later this month, and Travis Barker – the group’s drummer – has revealed via social media that they expect to have completed the record before they finish the tour.
Travis – who is married to reality star Kourtney Kardashian – wrote on Twitter: “Album will be finished before we leave on tour.”
Earlier this year, Travis was forced to undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in one of his fingers.
The drummer hurt the finger twice during rehearsals in February and he recently confessed that it also caused him some discomfort during the band’s performance at Coachella.
He wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “2 Coachella weekends in a row with an unhealed finger. Recorded last 4 songs on the album while I still had stitches. Tour in 4 days (sic)”
Blink-182 announced their reunion and plans for a world tour in 2022, and Mark Hoppus previously admitted that he felt relieved to share the news with the world.
He told ‘After School Radio’ on Apple Music Hits: “Man, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. That was a burden to carry that secret for so long.”
Mark, 51, also recalled being asked by a fan about a possible reunion during a baseball game.
He shared: “I was at the Dodgers game the other night, and a fan came up. It was a guy and his wife, probably late twenties, early thirties.
“We take our picture, and he’s like, ‘I love your band. Grew up on your band.’ He’s like, ‘Dude, is there any way, any way at all?’ And I’m like, ‘Any way for what?’ And he’s like, ‘Is there any chance of a Blink-182 reunion tour with Tom back in the band at all?’ And he had such hope and desperation in his eyes, and I just wanted to put my hand on his shoulder and say, ‘My friend, just you wait. Just wait three, four more days.'”

OHMYGOSSIP — Fall Out Boy have sold a vinyl of their new album containing actual human tears.
The ‘Love From The Other Side’ rockers have launched a bizarre limited edition version of their LP ‘So Much (For) Stardust’ filled with real tears for “maximum emotional fidelity”.
The so-called Crynyl records sold out of pre-orders within an hour on Monday (01.05.23) with just 50 copies available, although the band said some have been held back for a giveaway.
The package includes a double-sided, tear-filled LP in a gatefold box with built-in tissue dispenser.
On the Crynyl site for the special edition album, it reads: ‘Music is more than just sound waves. It’s passion, struggle, and emotion.
‘That’s why we developed a new kind of record: one that contains the artists’ actual tears.
‘When you listen to a Crynyl release, you’re not just listening to what the artist played, you’re feeling what they felt.”
The band joked that the records “may contain eyeliner traces”.
They added: “Every Crynyl release is filled with actual tears from the artist.
“We gather tears samples using sterile collection kits, dilute them into a sonically-optimized solution, then seal them into each record using proprietary Crynylseal technology.”
Fall Out Boy returned to their rock roots on ‘So Much (For) Stardust’, which came after 2018’s ‘MANIA’ was them trying to survive in a hostile industry.
Bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz previously told Variety: “I feel like our thoughts on ‘MANIA’ were taken a little out of context.
“Two records before, we were making albums in a landscape that was not particularly friendly to bands, and so we were just trying to figure out how to survive.
“It was like The Last of Us: The Pop Radio Version, starring Fall Out Boy fighting the zombies that do not want bands existing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Ware thinks it is “all fair in love and war” when it comes to chart battles.
The 38-year-old singer has this week released her fifth album ‘That! Feels! Good!’ but faces competition from rock band The National with their record ‘First Two Pages of Frankenstein’ and indie pop rockers The Lottery Winners with ‘Anxiety Replacement Therapy’ but during her launch party in London on Wednesday (26.04.23), she begged the audience to buy her album instead.
According to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, she told the crowd: “Thank you to everyone who has supported me and who is continuing to support me.
“Buy the record, please, because I really want to beat The National but I want to f****** take them down. And there’s a band called The Lottery Winners, so we have The National Lottery winners this week. I want to take all these f****** down. Please buy the record. It’s all fair in love and war!”
The ‘Pearls’ hitmaker – who is also known for interviewing a host of A-list celebrities such as Dolly Parton, Kylie Minogue, and Sir Paul McCartney on her culinary podcast ‘Table Manners’ alongside her mother Lennie -recently explained how she channeled Madonna on the record, having worked with her producer Stuart Price and even sang into the same microphone used by the Queen of Pop for her 2005 record ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor.’
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “Stuart had worked with Madonna, and so she was in my mind, too. It’s hard to forget when you’re holding the same mic that Madonna recorded Confessions on a Dance Floor on to not feel like maybe you are hopefully going to be a bit blessed by something.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wham!’s 40th anniversary will be marked with a Netflix documentary and the reissuing of their records.
Surviving member Andrew Ridgeley has been in talks with the estate representatives of his late musical partner George Michael – who died in December 2016 – to make plans to mark the milestone, and as well as the film, which will be released on 5 July, there are also plans underway to re-release their back catalogue.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “There are loads of things being lined up to celebrate Wham! for the 40th anniversary.
“Andrew has been working with George’s estate to come up with ideas to honour the group’s legacy and one of those is the Netflix documentary.
“It features loads of unseen footage.
“There are still millions of Wham! fans around the world and it will be really special for them to hear the group’s stories because there’s lots in there that Andrew has never spoken about before.”
Earlier this week, a TikTok channel for the ‘Club Tropicana’ group was launched to bring their music to a new set of fans.
Andrew said: “It’s heart-warming to know that the TikTok generation embrace Wham!’s vibrancy and its appeal to the young and youthful endures.”
George and Andrew met at school and the 60-year-old singer previously admitted he particularly misses doing “ordinary” things with his late pal.
Speaking on TV show ‘This Morning’, he previously said: “The last time I saw George was over a game of Scrabble, making up for a humiliating beating the previous week.
“He liked to do ordinary things with his friends. Those moments were the ones I enjoyed the most as well.
“I miss him a lot on occasions. I think anyone who has lost a close friend or relative will understand.”
‘Wham!’ enjoyed huge success in the first half of the 1980s before splitting in 1986. George then went on to enjoy a successful solo career but Andrew felt that the band’s progress took them by surprise.
He said: “The scale and speed of our success, I don’t think either of us could have anticipated.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jess Glynne says her comeback single is about “growing” and learning from mistakes.
The 33-year-old track ‘Silly Me’ marks her return to music following three years out of the spotlight after she was left feeling “lost” due to a close friend’s death.
Jess, who has the most No1s of any British female solo artist, told Metro about the single: “This song really is about learning from your mistakes and growing from it.
“Life isn’t perfect, we all mess up along the way and have moments where we have felt silly, but what matters is picking yourself up and not being too hard on yourself.”
The new release is her first after being signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label.
She announced her comeback to music on Monday (24.04.23) in a long Instagram post in which she told fans: “I want to re-introduce myself. It has been a while, a lot of time has passed and a lot has changed.
“In 2021 I lost a friend in a really tragic way and it has changed the way I see and feel life. I was deeply unhappy and I was so lost in my career and I felt trapped by people who didn’t believe in me during such a sensitive time.
“I made a decision to walk away from all that negativity and start again because I saw how short life is and how important it is to look after you.
“This was probably one of the toughest, scariest things I have ever done and at the time I had no idea how it would work out but I had to put my happiness and my mental health first no matter what.”
Opening up about the toll the last few years have taken, Jess added: “These past (three) years have been the most trialling on me emotionally and physically but I feel as though they have made me the best version of myself.
“I was out in LA alone pushing through and I was finally inspired by the journey I had been on and the path in front wasn’t so scary. I began writing again with new people.
“I am so lucky to finally be surrounded by such excited, caring people who allow me to be my authentic self. I hope this album holds your hand and this side of me is the Jess I want you to get to know.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx thinks the bands biopic ‘The Dirt’ left young fans amazed the world doesn’t “make bands like that anymore”.
The band’s acclaimed 2001 biography was turned into the hit Netflix show in 2019, and introduced a new generation to tales of debauchery involving the group’s drummer Tommy Lee, who infamously featured in a sex tape with ‘Baywatch’ actress Pamela Anderson, and bassist Nikki Sixx, who once bet with Tommy on who could go the longest time without showering while still sleeping with groupies.
Nikki, 64, told the Daily Express: “When ‘The Dirt’ film came out, younger music fans had only kind of heard who Mötley Crüe were.
“When those kids saw the movie, they went: ‘Holy s***! They don’t make bands like that anymore!’
“There are still plenty of kids who love rock’n’roll who are discovering classic rock like us, Guns N’ Roses and Metallica.”
After years of debauchery in the 80s, Nikki has got clean and lives a quietl life in Wyoming with his model wife Courtney Bingham, and their three-year-old daughter Ruby.
The bassist said: “I’ve been sober for a long time. After seeing ‘The Dirt’, some people tell me: ‘Oh man, it’s so great that you’ve finally got your life together.’ That’s a fantastic sentiment, but ‘finally’ was a long time ago.
“Staying sober isn’t difficult. I try to remember who I am on a daily basis as a human being, not as a rock star.
“I try to be the best version of myself, as a husband, a father, a bandleader, a writer. Sobriety comes before anything else in my life.
“If I use drugs or alcohol, I will lose my family, my band, my house, my financial security. If I use drugs or alcohol, I will lose everything, so there’s nothing more important to me.”

OHMYGOSSIP — McFly’s Harry Judd says their group therapy was “s***”.
Four-piece Harry Judd, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, all 37, and Dougie Poynter, 35, went into counselling when it was hit by issues such as Dougie going into rehab, Tom struggling with his mental health.
Harry told the i newspaper about the problems: “We all had different ways of communicating. Dougie and Danny hate confrontation. So it creates problems and resentment. And people can be too controlling.
“All these layers build up. It’s men not talking, really.”
When asked what their group therapy was like, he admitted: “S***.”
Danny said about the counselling sessions: “I think all that did for us was create a safe space to say hard things.
“But it’s like a marriage. You’re together for ever, right? And a one-year blip in 20 years is absolutely nothing.”
McFly got back together in 2019 after forming McBusted in 2013 with fellow group Busted, and they say things are now better than ever.
Dougie says their upcoming seventh studio album ‘Power to Play’ wase inspired by seeing the ‘Hella Mega’ tour, featuring Green Day, Fall Out Boy, and Weezer.
When asked if the inspiration meant they were moving away from the boy band image of their heyday, Tom said: “I mean, I’m nearly 38.”
Harry added: “Now and for ever more, I don’t see us as a boy band. McFly are a pop-rock band. It’s always pop-rock.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Moby wanted to fall on the floor and worship David Bowie when they played the icon’s ‘Heroes’ track in his living room.
The dance hitmaker, 57, became such good friends with the singer before his death aged 69 from liver cancer on 10 January 2016 they went on holidays together, but Moby admitted he ended up feeling like Mike Myers’ character in ‘Wayne’s World’ when he met his hero Alice Cooper in the film.
He told Metro’s 60 Seconds column: “He was my favourite musician of all time. I used to work just long enough to save money to buy his albums. When we became friends, ostensibly we were peers, but then again very ostensibly because he was David Bowie – and I was not.
“But we were neighbours, we went on tour together, we had holidays together. I tried to keep it together but the entire time we were working on music together, like when we played ‘Heroes’ on acoustic guitar together in my living room, I wanted to fall on the floor like Mike Myers in ‘Wayne’s World’ does when he meets Alice Cooper.”
Moby – born Richard Melville Hall –  also admitted he has been made so paranoid by the ‘Mr Robot’ series he has disabled all his cameras out of fear he is being spied on.
He said: “Did you watch the TV show ‘Mr Robot?’ There was a recurring plot point where their computers get hacked and people are spying on them through their cameras.
“So I disabled all my phone and laptop cameras, and now I can’t figure out how to turn them back on.”
He also admitted the reason he collaborates with so many musicians is he thinks his voice is “average”.
Moby said: “When I was really young, like seven, I wanted to be a great singer, but when I started playing in bands I learned pretty quickly that I’m an average B-minus singer at best.
“I learned during the late Eighties and early Nineties that if I wanted to have beautiful, interesting and diverse voices on my records, I’d have to work with other singers.
“And I’ve worked with hundreds of them – everyone from Ozzy Osbourne and Britney Spears to David Bowie.”

The new record combines heartfelt and meaningful lyrics with some of the most impassioned vocal performances that Shaky has ever summoned – more than 50 years on from his first recordings.

Tracks such as ‘All You Need Is Greed’ and ‘Tick Tock’ provide compelling observations about the state of our planet and the album features a final call to arms with the closing song ‘Re-Set’.
Shaky, 75, said: “It’s a serious thing, what’s happening in the world. If people pick up on that, and it reminds them what’s happening, then someone is listening, and we’ve done something good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted’s James Bourne has purchased special trainers so he can do the band’s signature guitar jumps.
The reunited pop punk trio – comprising James and Matt Willis, both 39, and Charlie Simpson, 37 – are hitting the road in September for their 20th anniversary tour, and they’ve revealed how they are preparing for the road.
Matt told Heat magazine: “Funny you should say that – James has bought some special trainers for his knees.”
James continued: “I was speaking to Dougie [Poynter, from McFly and James’ McBusted bandmate] and he was saying he’s been struggling to jump because he wore bad trainers. It’s actually a big deal, choosing the right footwear for stage…”
Matt takes daily ice baths and Charlie – who was recently crowned the winner of TV’s ‘The Masked Singer UK’ as Rhino – keeps in shape but found sitting in freezing water too much.
Charlie said: “I guess keeping fit is good. I’ve also tried using an ice bath, , as apparently they’re good for you. It was horrible.
Matt chipped in: “I do one every day.
“You come up with your best ideas in that ice bath.
“I come up with some good s***. It gives you an instant dopamine hit.”
James has taken it one step further and does cryotherapy.
He said: “I’ve been doing the cryo chamber thing in LA, which is quite nice.
“When you come out, you feel amazing.”
Cryotherapy – which has many health benefits such as muscle and injury recovery to weight loss and relief from inflammatory conditions – is popular among stars including Justin Bieber and Take That’s Gary Barlow.
The ‘You Said No’ group’s 15-date run kicks off in Plymouth on September 2 and wraps in Manchester on September 24.

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha was thrilled to finally collaborate with Dolly Parton after the superstar singer previously declined her request.
Dolly previously refused to work on one of Bebe’s songs about “heaven and hell” but she was happy to later collaborate on the song ‘Seasons’.
Bebe explained to Variety: “She wrote me a thoughtful, handwritten note once just to say she was grateful for the request but the song I had submitted was about heaven and hell, and well, she didn’t have any interest in singing about hell that way.
“I understood completely, and the gesture was so thoughtful. I knew one day there would be a perfect song for us to share and ‘Seasons’ was it. She sent me her verse and her harmonies, and we got to film this really fun video together.
“I was in the studio, and we recorded the guitar and my vocals at the same time and didn’t edit much — just sang through a straight take. Then Dolly added her vocals and the result was just perfect.”
And Bebe, 33, jumped at the chance to film a music video with 77-year-old icon Dolly.
She explained: ““Dolly is so funny — one of the funniest people I’ve met. I was in awe of her, wowed by her six-inch heels. I just [have] such strong admiration for her, not just as an artist, but as a songwriter. I started my career as a songwriter and would look up to Dolly because she’s able to write songs for other people, while also having success for herself.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes has parted ways with Columbia Records.
The alternative pop star’s manager, Daouda Leonard, confirmed the departure to Billboard.
No reason was given for the split.
Grimes – whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher – had only been with the major label since 2021.
The news comes days after Grimes gave permission for her voice to be used on songs generated by artificial intelligence.
The 35-year-old singer weighed in on the topic of AI music and insisted she’s totally open to it because it’s “cool to be fused [with] a machine” and she is happy for her voice to be used as long as any royalties are split 50/50 with her.
In a series of posts on Twitter, she wrote: “I’ll split 50 per cent royalties on any successful AI generated song that uses my voice. Same deal as I would with any artist I collab with. Feel free to use my voice without penalty. I have no label and no legal bindings. (sic)”
Grimes then added: “I think it’s cool to be fused [with] a machine and I like the idea of open sourcing all art and killing copyright … We’re making a program that should simulate my voice well but we could also upload stems and samples for ppl [people] to train their own. (sic)”
Her initial post was a comment on an article about a song called ‘Heart on My Sleeve’ by TikTok user Ghostwriter977 who used AI to generate vocals which sounded just like musicians Drake and The Weeknd.
The song became a huge viral hit and reportedly racked up 230,000 plays on YouTube and more than 625,000 on Spotify.
However, it is no longer available on services including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal and YouTube.
The takedown came after bosses at Universal Music Group requested the streamers block any AI which might be using the services to train algorithms and fuel the creation of unauthorised tracks.
A spokesperson for Universal said: “The training of generative AI using our artists’ music as well as the availability of infringing content created with generative AI on DSPs [digital signal processors] , begs the question as to which side of history all stakeholders in the music ecosystem want to be on: the side of artists, fans and human creative expression, or on the side of deep fakes, fraud and denying artists their due compensation.”
Grimes – who has two children with tech mogul Elon Musk – has long vowed to release her album, ‘BOOK 1’, which will come in two parts.

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Goes To Hollywood have announced their first concert in 36 years for ‘Eurovision’.
The ‘Power of Love’ hitmakers hail from Liverpool, the host city of the 2023 song contest, and they will be back with lead singer Holly Johnson at The National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome event outside the city’s St George’s Hall on May 7.
Holly, 63, announced on Instagram: “Frankie Goes To Eurovision. To celebrate the UK hosting the @eurovision song contest for Ukraine in our hometown of Liverpool, I’m happy to announce that Frankie Goes To Hollywood will reunite to perform at the opening concert of this very special event.”
A music insider had told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column earlier this month: “Eurovision organisers have put them at the top of their wish list and have asked them if they would consider performing.
“The group haven’t played together with lead singer Holly in more than 20 years, so it would be massive to get them back.
“To host Eurovision in Liverpool is massive for the city and the organisers want to make sure it is one to remember.”
Their 1983 debut hit ‘Relax’ was banned by broadcaster the BBC in 1984 for its sexual references while at number six in the charts and subsequently topped the UK Singles Chart for five consecutive weeks, before going on to earn them a BRIT Award for Best British Single.
The source added: “For the band it would be a monumental moment too.
“’Relax’ got banned by the BBC when it was released and this year marks its 40th anniversary, so to be back performing it on the Beeb would be huge.
“Eurovision are hoping the group says yes but it might not be that simple.”
FGTH – also including Paul Rutherford, Mark O’Toole, Brian Nash and Peter Gill – were last known to be in the same room in 2003 for VH1’s ‘Bands Reunited’, however, they did not perform.
In 2007, Peter, Paul, Mark, and vocalist Ryan Molloy formed Forbidden Hollywood to play their new songs and old FGTH material to avoid legal issues with Holly over use of the band’s name.

OHMYGOSSIP — Katy Perry has vowed to release new music “very soon”.
The ‘American Idol’ judge’s fans – who are nicknamed Katy Cats – are in store for a treat in the not-so-distant future.
She teased in an interview with ‘Extra’: “I’m gonna give them what they deserve very soon.”
The ‘Roar’ hitmaker – who released her sixth record ‘Smile’ in 2020 – previously teased that she would focus on a new record once her Las Vegas residency ends on November 4.
Appearing on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “I’ll probably go and make another record soon and write it and tour the world after this, which will be so great.”
The 38-year-old superstar admitted she has a “persona” when she takes to the stage for the ‘Katy Perry:PLAY’ show at the Resorts World Theatre, and she saves “a lot of that energy” for her live shows.
She explained: “I think, obviously, there’s an onstage persona. And I save a lot of that energy for being onstage and I dial it up.
“I really love this show that I put on. It’s my favourite show, it’s bringing the most joy.”
Katy explained she doesn’t “talk a lot offstage” as she prefers to wait until she can turn things “up to 11” in front of a live crowd.
She added: “I’m pretty, like, even offstage. I’m more, like, businesswoman; I don’t talk a lot offstage… I’m very, kind of, an observer.
“I really save my energy for when I have to go and turn it on. ‘Cause when I turn it on, it’s up to 11, girl.”
