OHMYGOSSIP — David Bowie had basic butties on his BRITs rider.
Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant – who featured on a re-make of Bowie’s ‘Hallo Spaceboy’ in 1996 – has recalled bumping into the late music legend backstage at the then-notoriously boozy bash, where the ‘Life on Mars’ hitmaker was chowing down on a ham baguette.
Neil spilled on ‘Dermot O’Leary’s Reel Stories’ on BBC2: “Bowie was fun and weirdly not pretentious.
“I remember him backstage at the BRITs eating a ham baguette.
“You imagine him to have Indonesian sardines, but there he was with a ham baguette.
“I loved Bowie. We went to see him at Newcastle City Hall (in the Seventies).
“I have still got his autograph.
“That was a big influence.”
Neil’s Bowie tale comes after Moby recently admitted he wanted to fall on the floor and worship the ‘Let’s Dance’ hitmaker when they played his 1997 classic ‘Heroes’ in his living room.
The dance hitmaker, 57, became such good friends with the singer before his death aged 69 from liver cancer on in 2016 that they went on holidays together, but Moby admitted he ended up feeling like Mike Myers’ character in ‘Wayne’s World’ when he met his hero Alice Cooper in the film.
He told Metro’s 60 Seconds column: “He was my favourite musician of all time. I used to work just long enough to save money to buy his albums. When we became friends, ostensibly we were peers, but then again very ostensibly because he was David Bowie – and I was not.
“But we were neighbours, we went on tour together, we had holidays together. I tried to keep it together but the entire time we were working on music together, like when we played ‘Heroes’ on acoustic guitar together in my living room, I wanted to fall on the floor like Mike Myers in ‘Wayne’s World’ does when he meets Alice Cooper.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Wham!’s 40th anniversary will be marked with the release of ‘The Singles: Echoes From The Edge Of Heaven’ on July 7.
For the first time, fans of the iconic pop duo – which comprised Andrew Ridgley and the late George Michael – can get their hands on a multi-format set, including a special edition 7-inch vinyl singles carry case containing every hit from their four decades in music; from 1982’s ‘Young Guns (Go For It)’ to 1986’s ‘The Edge Of Heaven’.
The collection also includes, ‘WHAM! RAP! (Enjoy What You Do)’, ‘Bad Boys’, ‘Club Tropicana’, ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’, ‘Freedom’, ‘Last Christmas’, ‘Everything She Wants’ and ‘I’m Your Man!’
Meanwhile, ‘Wham! The Documentary’ is set to arrive on Netflix on July 5.
The film offers “unprecedented access to both George and Andrew’s personal archive including remarkable and never-before-seen footage, alongside rare, candid and previously unheard interviews, WHAM! charts their incredible journey from school friends to superstars.”
Earlier this week, a TikTok channel for the ‘Club Tropicana’ group was launched to bring their music to a new set of fans.
Andrew said: “It’s heart-warming to know that the TikTok generation embrace Wham!’s vibrancy and its appeal to the young and youthful endures.”
George and Andrew met at school and the 60-year-old singer previously admitted he particularly misses doing “ordinary” things with his late pal.
Speaking on TV show ‘This Morning’, he said: “The last time I saw George was over a game of Scrabble, making up for a humiliating beating the previous week.
“He liked to do ordinary things with his friends. Those moments were the ones I enjoyed the most as well.
“I miss him a lot on occasions. I think anyone who has lost a close friend or relative will understand.”
‘Wham!’ enjoyed huge success in the first half of the 1980s before splitting in 1986. George then went on to enjoy a successful solo career but Andrew felt that the band’s progress took them by surprise.
He said: “The scale and speed of our success, I don’t think either of us could have anticipated.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica’s axe-slayer Kirk Hammett is almost nine years sober.
The 60-year-old guitarist says he credits ditching booze with his “personal growth” in many areas of his life.
He told the band’s fanzine So What!: “I’m going on nine years sober pretty soon. I [attribute] so much of my own personal growth to getting sober. And I wish I would’ve gotten sober a long time ago, but it just wasn’t in the cards, you know? But since getting sober, everything is improved in my life, pretty much everything is improved. I have focus, and I put myself in situations now that I know are positive and win-win situations, where it contributes to everyone else’s well-being. And the best thing that I can do nowadays is to find ways just to contribute to other people’s well-being, whether it’s through art, music, just hanging out with people, doing cool creative stuff, connecting with people, being positive, and just working toward the well-being of everyone. That’s what I want to do these days.”
Before abstaining from alcohol, the ‘Enter Sandman’ rocker admits his life was chaos and he would get himself into “trouble all the time”, describing his former self as an “emotional animal who would just lash out.”
He continued: “I’m not as chaotic as I used to be. And I know that I’m not as unpredictable as I used to be. When I was younger, I had this thing; I always had this feeling that I needed adventure. I was mischievous. So, I would get myself into trouble all the time, only because that was the energy that was in me. But I don’t have that anymore. I feel like I’m very well grounded. I also feel that I am my own person, and I will always be my own person. And everything that has anything to do with me begins with me and ends with me. At the end of the day, it really doesn’t have anything to do with anyone else. And having that realisation? It’s changed me. It’s changed my approach to just about everything. It’s given me an awareness so that I’m less reactive and more responsive to almost every situation. Whereas back in the day, I was a reactionary, emotional animal who would just lash out all the time without even thinking because I was conditioned.”
Kirk says his anger stemmed from his childhood.
Referencing the group’s latest LP ’72 Seasons’, he added: “That was the situation around me as I was growing up. Those are my ’72 seasons,’ you know? Being in a totally reactive mode all the time because I had to be that way because that’s what people need to be for survival. You know, during those 72 seasons, most of it was spent in survival mode for me. And you know, it gets tiring being in that mode. I’ve found a way to just write myself out of that narrative and be my own person. And I realise that’s all I can do, so that’s what I do now.”
Frontman James Hetfield, 59, has also battled alcoholism over they years, with the metal legend entering rehab as recent as 2020.

OHMYGOSSIP — Pink and Sheryl Crow are Judas Priest fans.
The heavy metal group’s frontman Rob Halford has claimed the 43-year-old pop star and the 61-year-old country icon have both told him how much their music means to them.
Rob, 71, told Metal Hammer magazine: “Pink came up to me and said, ‘I need to tell you something,’ and I was thinking, ‘Oh god, what have we done?’
“She said when she was in school, she and her friends used to stencil the Judas Priest logo on their notebooks!
“Then Sheryl Crow came up to me and she said, ‘I love your voice, it’s amazing!’ All of these things solidify the fact that your music can reach and connect with people you’d never expect.”
The ‘Breaking The Law’ group just announced their first UK and Ireland tour in almost nine years.
Rob and co are bringing their ‘Metal Masters World Tour’ to six arenas next year, with support from peers Saxon and Uriah Heep.
The UK leg kicks off in Glasgow OVO Hydro on March 11 and wraps at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on March 24.
They said: “We are thrilled to start this world tour in the renowned traditional homes of heavy metal and can’t wait to see our amazing family of Priest maniacs!”
It’s their first jaunt across the UK since 2015’s ‘Redeemer of Souls Tour’.
The ‘Breaking the Law’ rockers were due to support Ozzy Osbourne in Europe and the UK and Ireland later this year, but last month he confirmed he was halting live performances due to ongoing health issues.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Hives have made their comeback with their first new music in 11 years.
The Swedish rockers have announced their upcoming album, ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’, and shared the lead single, ‘Bogus Operandi’.
The follow-up to 2012’s ‘Lex Hives’ is set for release on August 11.
Frontman Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist, 44, has declared that “rock’n’roll can’t grow up”, teasing that the album is like a “perpetual teenager”.
In a statement, he said: “There’s no maturity or anything like that bull****, because who the f*** wants mature rock’n’roll?
“That’s always where people go wrong, I feel. ‘It’s like rock’n’roll but adult,’ nobody wants that! That’s literally taking the good s*** out of it. Rock’n’roll can’t grow up, it is a perpetual teenager and this album feels exactly like that, which it’s all down to our excitement – and you can’t fake that s***.”
The ‘Hate To Say I Told You So’ hitmakers shared the following in a press release: “As the album’s macabre title hints, the band’s extended absence from the studio has been no hiatus but rather a horror story.
“The Hives now admit they have not seen nor spoken to their founder, mentor and songwriter, the perpetual limelight-shunning Randy Fitzsimmons, since the release of 2012’s Lex Hives. Following the recent discovery of a hidden away obituary and cryptic poem in the local paper of the Northern Vastmanland town where The Hives are from, the band members were led to Fitzsimmons’ tombstone.
“Upon digging the freshly interred ground, the band found not a body but instead several tapes, suits, and a piece of paper bearing the words ‘The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons’.”
Randy Fitzsimmons is a pseudonym for Niklas Almqvist, however, the band claims that it’s Randy that writes their songs and manages the group.
Meanwhile, fans can catch the band supporting Arctic Monkeys, and at their own festival shows and in-stores.

OHMYGOSSIP — Fred Again.. and Brian Eno are releasing the album ‘Secret Life’ on Friday (05.03.23).
After the former dance-pop hitmaker and electronic musician Four Tet helped step in for Frank Ocean during his second headline set at Coachella last month, genre-hopping Fred and ambient legend Eno have a joint project coming out on Tet’s Text Records.
Tet – whose real name is Kieran Hebden – tweeted: “The album Secret Life by Fred again and Brian Eno is coming out on my label Text Records on Friday.”
He then teased: “it is the most beautiful album of 2023 (sic)”
Fans can also check out the radio station secretlife.fm, where Fred and Tet will be previewing songs from the LP at 10pm BST daily, up until the day of release.
Fred Again.., Skrillex and Four Tet performed after Blink-182 in the place of Frank at the California festival in April.
Fred teased his performance on Instagram with two cryptic posts on his Story.
In one, he wrote: “okay I can’t believe I’m saying this again, but does anyone know where Sonny [Skrillex] is?(sic)
Fred also released ‘Baby Again’ with Skrillex and Four Tet earlier this year.
As for Eno, his last album was October’s ‘FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE’.
The record was inspired by his thoughts regarding the “precarious” nature of the future regarding climate change.
He said in a statement: “Like everybody else – except, apparently, most of the governments of the world – I’ve been thinking about our narrowing, precarious future, and this music grew out of those thoughts. Perhaps it’s more accurate to say I’ve been feeling about it…and the music grew out of the feelings. Those of us who share those feelings are aware that the world is changing at a super-rapid rate, and that large parts of it are disappearing forever…hence the album title.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes has invited fans to use her Elf.Tech software to create music with her AI voice.
The alternative pop star recently gave permission for her voice to be used on songs generated by Artificial Intelligence.
And she has since revealed that her software, which enables users to upload or record a capellas that will be turned into her ‘GrimesAI-1 voiceprint’, is being beta tested.
She tweeted: “If you go to elf.tech u can upload ur voice singing or record directly into the app (click the “create” button to do this). It will output the same audio but with my voice (sic)”
However, the artist will want 50 per cent royalties and has asked fans to be “tasteful” when they use “her name and likeness”.
She added: “You can use Grimes name and likeness (I humbly ask that you please be tasteful tho). Grimes is now open source and self replicating.
“in exchange for a Grimes feat and distribution.”
Grimes also has real new music on the way, ‘Music For Machines’, as well as another software called ‘I Wanna Be Software’.
She teased: “I’ll be releasing real Grimes music in the coming weeks and months too ofc.
Music for Machines and I wanna be software coming soon !
“And again plz excuse any hiccups or bugs – this is all new and we’re workshopping it! (sic)”
The 35-year-old singer recently weighed in on the topic of AI music and insisted she’s totally open to it because it’s “cool to be fused [with] a machine” and she is happy for her voice to be used as long as any royalties are split 50/50 with her.
In a series of posts on Twitter, she wrote: “I’ll split 50 per cent royalties on any successful AI generated song that uses my voice. Same deal as I would with any artist I collab with. Feel free to use my voice without penalty. I have no label and no legal bindings. (sic)”
Grimes then added: “I think it’s cool to be fused [with] a machine and I like the idea of open sourcing all art and killing copyright … We’re making a program that should simulate my voice well but we could also upload stems and samples for ppl [people] to train their own. (sic)”
Her initial post was a comment on an article about a song called ‘Heart on My Sleeve’ by TikTok user Ghostwriter977 who used AI to generate vocals that sounded just like musicians Drake and The Weeknd.
The song became a huge viral hit and reportedly racked up 230,000 plays on YouTube and more than 625,000 on Spotify.
However, it is no longer available on services including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube.
The takedown came after bosses at Universal Music Group requested the streamers block any AI which might be using the services to train algorithms and fuel the creation of unauthorised tracks.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande’s debut album ‘Yours Truly’ was originally intended for Jordin Sparks.
The producer of the 2013 hit record, Harmony Samuels, has claimed Jordan, 33, is “the blueprint behind who” Ariana is as an artist.
He told ‘Rated R’n’B: “While I was doing that album for [Fantasia], I was working on those records for Ariana Grande, but they weren’t Ariana Grande records — they were Jordin Sparks records.
He continued: “Jordin Sparks is the originator of those records and the blueprint behind who Ari is now. My vision was for Jordin to be that person.”
Samuels – whose songwriting and production credits also include Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Fifth Harmony, and Janet Jackson – bemoaned: “Unfortunately, RCA didn’t see the value in what I was producing for Jordin, and they proceeded to go in a different direction.”
The album featured Big Sean, Mika, Mac Miller, and The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes.
Meanwhile, Ariana recently joked that fans have heard “every bad song” she’s ever made after her unreleased music was leaked.
The 29-year-old pop superstar responded after a batch of unheard material leaked online in March, and she admitted it’s “impossible to keep things” from her passionate fanbase.
In a new R.E.M. Beauty video, she said: “You guys have heard every bad song and b******* demo that I’ve ever made. Hilarious.
“It’s impossible to keep things from you. You gotta take some swings and misses.”
Later in the video – which saw her applying various makeup products as she answered questions from fans – the ‘7 Rings’ hitmaker was asked if there were “any secrets soon to come”.
She replied: “Hmm… no secrets. I’m all out of secrets. You’ve stolen all my unreleased music, it’s horrible [laughs].”
Elsewhere, she described her life as “beautiful and surreal” as she continues to grow “so much right now”.
She added: “Life is beautiful and surreal and I’m learning so much, and I’m growing so much right now, and I’m working my a** off, and I’m enjoying and savouring every moment of it as much as I possibly can. So yeah, very grateful.”
Back in February, Ariana – who has not released an album since 2020’s ‘Positions’ – made her return to music on The Weeknd’s ‘Die For You’ remix as she teamed up with her friend and collaborator on the new version of his 2016 track from the album ‘Starboy’.
The ‘Dangerous Woman’ singer previously reassured fans she is still very much a singer and reminded them of her vocal prowess on a rendition of ‘Over the Rainbow’ from 1939 classic ‘The Wizard of Oz’, as she’s been busy working on the two-part movie adaptation of its Broadway musical prequel ‘Wicked’.
After being asked by a TikTok user why she is no longer a singer, she replied: “Literally on set filming two musical movies all day every day.”

OHMYGOSSIP — K-Pop group AB6IX have announced a new EP and world tour.
The South Korean boy band – comprising Jeon Woong, Kim Dong-hyun, Park Woo-jin and Lee Dae-hwi – will drop ‘The Future is Ours: Lost’ on May 29 at 6pm KST.
On May 1, the band shared a creepy trailer with caskets and gravestones to tease their comeback.
The group also announced that their global jaunt will be titled ‘The Future’.
The run will begin with two consecutive nights at Seoul’s Yes24 Live Hall, kicking off on May 27. Fans around the world will be able to watch the live stream.
More dates for the world tour will be announced in due course.
AB6IX released their sixth EP ‘Take a Chance’ in October.
The band – formed by Brand New Music in 2019 – used to be led by Lim Young-min, however, he left in June 2020, following his drunk driving incident.
A statement from the band’s label read at the time: “Hello, this is Brand New Music.
“First of all, we express sincere gratitude to the many fans who give love to AB6IX.
“After thorough discussion with AB6IX member Lim Young Min, Lim Young Min’s departure from AB6IX was decided today with respect for his wish to no longer cause harm to the group.

“As announced previously, AB6IX will continue promotions reorganized as a four-member group, and we will contribute even further effort to support AB6IX for their future.

OHMYGOSSIP — Neil Young says the late folk-pop legend Gordon Lightfoot was in good spirits, just weeks before his death aged 84.
The 77-year-old musician covered his pop hits ‘Early Morning Rain’ and ‘If You Could Read My Mind’ on his 2014 covers LP ‘A Letter Home’.
And in a touching tribute on his website, Young said: “I just spoke to Gordon a few weeks back, and he sounded happy, although he had cancelled some shows and was reorganising his touring. I was saddened when I learned today of his passing.”
The ‘Heart of Gold’ hitmaker added how Lightfoot’s music will live “through the ages”.
He penned: “Gordon was a great Canadian artist. A songwriter without parallel, his melodies and words were an inspiration to all writers who listened to his music, as they will continue to be through the ages. There is a unique and wonderful feeling to Gordon’s music. Lightfoot is a Canadian legend. His song just came up today by itself on the Hearse Schedule. PEACE Gordon. Love Neil.”
The seminal Canadian artist passed away at a Toronto hospital on Monday evening (01.05.23), his publicist Victoria Lord confirmed.
His death came after his declining health caused him to axe his tour three weeks earlier.
No cause of death was given.
However, the guitarist suffered from Bell’s palsy and was once placed in a coma in 2002 after an artery in his stomach ruptured.
Adored by music legends, including Bob Dylan, Lightfoot’s songs were also covered by the likes of Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash, and even punk rockers Jane’s Addiction.
Fellow Canadian Bryan Adams led tributes to the man who pioneered the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s.
He wrote on Instagram alongside a picture with his idol: “This one is really hard to write. Once in a blue moon you get to work and hang out with one of the people you admired when you were growing up. I was lucky enough to say Gordon was my friend and I’m gutted to know he’s gone. The world is a lesser place without him. I know I speak for all Canadians when I say: thank you for the songs Gordon Lightfoot. Bless your sweet songwriting heart, RIP dear friend.”
Dylan once said of Lightfoot: “I can’t think of any Gordon Lightfoot song I don’t like. Every time I hear a song of his, it’s like I wish it would last forever … Lightfoot became a mentor for a long time. I think he probably still is to this day.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are marking the 30th anniversary of ‘Doggystyle’ with a pair of orchestral shows.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic are performing with the West Coast rap legend and special guest at ‘Snoop Dogg Friends: 30th Anniversary of Doggystyle’ at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on June 27 and 28.
They will be backed by the ReCollective Orchestra led by Derrick Hodge.
The shows are produced by the studio wizard behind the record, Dre.
Released on November 23, 1993, the record followed Snoop’s contributions to Dre’s seminal debut solo album ‘The Chronic’ in 1992.
Meanwhile, Snoop previously announced plans to produce a biopic about his own life.
The ‘Gin and Juice’ hitmaker joined forces with Universal Pictures, director Allen Hughes and writer Joe Robert Cole to make the upcoming film.
Snoop – who will produce alongside Allen and Sara Ramaker – said in a statement: “I waited a long time to put this project together because I wanted to choose the right director, the perfect writer, and the greatest movie company I could partner with that could understand the legacy that I’m trying to portray on screen, and the memory I’m trying to leave behind.
“It was the perfect marriage. It was holy matrimony, not holy macaroni.”
Donna Langley, the chairwoman of Universal, added: “Snoop Dogg’s life and legacy make him one of the most exciting and influential icons in popular culture.
“We met with Snoop shortly after he acquired Death Row Records and had the opportunity to hear his story in his own words. We are humbled to be able to create the lasting document of this singular artist.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Courteeners viewed fellow Mancunian rockers Oasis as “superstars from outer space.”
The Liam Fray-fronted indie band have often been compared to the Britpop legends but they never felt worthy of such a comparison.
Speaking to Record Collector magazine, Liam said: “I used to say Oasis were our big influence.
“But Oasis were like superstars from outer space. The reality was looking at Stephen Fretwell’s career. We thought that was doable.”
It just so happens the band have been writing with Stephen and he and Liam have covered Oasis’ ‘Sad Song’ for a charity compilation.
He said: “It’s hard to pin Stephen down.
“He came to my house and, before you know it, he’s playing my piano He’s got a song I added to that’s just gorgeous.”
The ‘Emily’ singer, 41, went under the radar for 14 years before returning with the album ‘Busy Guy’ two years ago.
The 37-year-old rocker confessed to downing at least six pints of beer before rambling to the press because he wanted to experience what is what like in the 90s when the Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher were at each other’s throats.
He said: “In the 90s. It was funny back then, a free-for-all. I had a misty eye of thinking: ‘I wish I’d grown up then, so I could read all this in Melody Maker.’ But I’ve seen some of those interviews recently and I just think: Jesus! Chill out!’ It wasn’t a true depiction of who I was. By the same token, I’d rather NME had been writing about us than someone else.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Ware’s new record features Kylie Minogue, Clara Amfo and Aisling Bea.
The 38-year-old singer and podcaster revealed that the opening song on her latest album ‘That! Feels Good!’ contains secret audio clips from a number of her famous friends.
Jessie told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “There are lots of friends and some famous people.
“I went through my phone and had the audacity to message and ask.
“We had made the song ‘That! Feels Good!’ and I knew it had to start the record.
“I started voice-noting people saying, ‘Can you say, ‘That feels good’ a load of different times’.
“It ranges from my mum to Kylie Minogue.
“Bless her, she sent three different versions because she’s that much of a pro and we love her for that.
“Roisin Murphy sent hers from a toilet in an airport in Finland.
“There’s also Aisling Bea, Clara Amfo, Jamie Demetriou and Benny Blanco.”
‘That! Feels Good!’ is Jessie’s fifth studio album and she revealed she finally feels confident in her career.
She said: “Totally, yeah. I feel like I’m riding high and having such fun with it.
“I’m going to be everywhere.
“People are going to be sick to death of me by next week, and then I’ll go away for a bit.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lewis Capaldi has recorded a song with Calvin Harris – but he’s lost it.
The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer got into the studio with the ‘Miracle’ hitmaker two years ago but the 39-year-old DJ admitted they’re unsure whether the track will ever see the light of day because his fellow Scotsman managed to misplace the recordings from their session.
Calvin told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “We made a tune together two years ago and then something happened to it. He put it on his laptop and then lost it or something.”
Last week, Lewis’ ‘Wish You The Best’ knocked ‘Miracle’, Calvin’s collaboration with Ellie Goulding, off the number one slot in the UK singles charts but the ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ hitmaker has now reclaimed it.
But Calvin insisted the pair aren’t rivals and he’s just happy to see Lewis doing well.
He added: “He’s a great lad and even though we’re not best friends or anything like that, it’s always nice to see a Scottish lad doing well.”
Lewis’ work with Calvin isn’t his only collaboration that fans may never get to hear.
Niall Horan recently admitted he and the ‘Hold Me While You Wait’ singer had recorded some songs together but he doesn’t think they are “good enough” to release.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “There was a night we went into the studio and wrote a couple of songs.
“They clearly weren’t good enough because we would have heard them by now.
“One of them was actually decent to be fair. But you get one go at a collab and until we both absolutely adore it and spend more time in the studio, there’s not much point in releasing it I don’t think.”
The 28-year-old singer admitted he hasn’t spent a lot of time with Lewis lately because he’s trying to cut down on his partying.
He laughed: “We do get on very well behind the scenes.
“He’s just an absolute legend and it usually involves a lot of drinking so I’ve been trying to stay away from him for that reason – the hangovers come quick and fast and strong.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher is set to record a new album this summer.
The ‘Everything’s Electric’ hitmaker recently claimed a reunion with his former band Oasis – who split in 2009 due to tensions between the singer and his guitarist brother, Noel Gallagher – was “happening” but that could be some time away because the 50-year-old star is preparing to start work on a new solo LP with frequent collaborators Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Even though Liam is on better terms with Noel, he is still focused on his solo material and has another record in him before he can think about an Oasis reunion.
“He’s been in a great headspace and the creative juices are flowing. He can’t wait to get back in the studio again.”
Responding to a Twitter follower who asked what the chances of them reuniting are last month, Liam replied: “It’s happening.”
And days later Noel, 55, urged his younger sibling to “get his people to call my people” to discuss the possibility.
Speaking in a radio interview in France on France Inter, Noel said: “There’s something in the papers back in England today.
“[Liam] should get his people to call my people; they know who they are, they know where we are. Stop talking on the f****** internet, and let’s see what you’ve got to say.”
The reporter then asked if that’s all it would take to reunite Oasis, to which he replied: “You would think, right? You would think. He’s got my number, he’s got my manager’s number, call us. But you know what? He won’t call.”
Noel had admitted earlier this year that he’ll “never say never” to a reunion.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: “You should never say never, [but] it would have to take an extraordinary set of circumstances.
“That’s not to say that those circumstances would never come about.”
The ‘Champagne Supernova’ hitmaker was then asked how he and Liam are getting on these days, to which he replied: “Oh, brilliantly, yeah. Genuinely, yeah.”
However, Noel recently squashed speculation the group would get back together to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ this summer.
But promising there would be a special release of the record coming out, which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions, he told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions.
“We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.
“There won’t be a tour – we won’t come back to play them together.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen’s Roger Taylor has refused to confirm or deny if his son Rufus Taylor is going to replace the late Taylor Hawkins as Foo Fighters’ drummer.
The sticksman – who tragically died aged 50 in 2022 – was a Queen mega-fan and following rumours that suggested Rufus, who plays drums for The Darkness, could take Taylor’s seat behind the kit for Dave Grohl and co, Roger has said he’s worthy enough.
The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ rocker told BBC Radio 2: “Well, Rufus is phenomenal.
“He’s turned into this scary, great drummer with The Darkness […] My son, he’s just annoyingly powerful and he’s become very, very good. I can’t say any more!”
Asked if he could join the band on tour, he insisted: “Well, he does play brilliantly with them. He knows all their stuff, knows them all very well.
“He did play ‘Best of You’ with the Foos, and it was phenomenal at Wembley, and at The Forum in LA. What exactly is happening now, I don’t know.”
Taylor and Roger were good pals.
On his legacy, he added: “We’re never going to forget him. I can’t take him out of my phone.”
Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron recently quashed gossip he would be taking over from Taylor.
He told fans on Instagram: “FYI the internet rumours are false, I haven’t joined the Foos.”
The ‘Learn to Fly’ rockers recently returned with their first new song since Taylor’s passing, ‘Rescued’, taken from their upcoming album ‘But Here We Are’.
The follow-up to 2021’s ‘Medicine at Midnight’ is described as: “A brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.”
The ‘Everlong’ rockers reunited with producer Greg Kurstin on the 10-track collection, which signals their new era.
A press release adds that the album is “informed by decades of maturity and depth.”
It continues: “‘But Here We Are’ is the sound of brothers finding refuge in the music that brought them together in the first place 28 years ago, a process that was as therapeutic as it was about a continuation of life.”
Taylor was found dead in his hotel room in Colombia, in March last year, hours before the band was due to play a festival in Bogotá.
No cause of death was given.
