OHMYGOSSIP — Duran Duran want to release a Halloween album.
The ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ hitmakers are huge fans of the spooktastic holiday after playing a pair of Halloween-themed shows in Las Vegas last year, where they donned ghoulish outfits and performed covers of ‘Spellbound’ by Siouxsie And The Banshees, ‘Ghost Town’ by The Specials and ‘Super Freak’ by Rick James.
Synth player Nick Rhodes told Record Collector magazine for a special edition about the new wave legends: “We had so much fun doing that Vegas show.
“I love the idea of a Duran Duran Halloween album, as it’s one of those crazy ideas where people go, Why would you do that?’ Well, it’s precisely because it’s so different from anything else we’ve done.”
The band are already recording a new album with terminally-ill guitarist Andy Taylor.
The 62-year-old musician – who left the band in 2006 – revealed last November when the group were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that he had been battling stage 4 prostate cancer for five years, and bassist John Taylor recently revealed their former bandmate had agreed to part of a “meaningful” new record they are working on.
Speaking at the ‘Unforgettable Evening in LA event’, which raised £1.6 million for the Women’s Cancer Research Fund, John said: “When he dropped the bomb two days before the Hall of Fame, it was really shocking and terribly sad. We’re working on an album right now that is going to be coming out at the end of the year and he’s playing guitar.
“Had he come to LA and just gone on the TV show, we probably wouldn’t have even thought about it. That [the album] happened as a result of this. There’s a lot of cover songs on the album, songs meaningful to us when we were kids. So having him be a part of that project is great.”
The ‘Girls on Film’ hitmakers will record most of the record in Los Angeles and London, but frontman Simon planned to fly to Ibiza to record with Andy in his studio.
John added: “LeBon is flying to Ibiza to work with Andy. I kind of wish I was there. I think it’ll be great.
“It’ll be really profound for them. They haven’t been in the studio together in maybe 10 to 20 years.”
The musician also hinted at the possibility the sessions could feature in a documentary because he suggested they will be filmed.
He said: “Somebody will have an iPhone on it.”
And John told Record Collector: “Simon [Le Bon] was with him for a week, they did a bunch of recording.”

OHMYGOSSIP — LL Cool J has announced the star-studded line-up for his first tour in 30 years.
The hip-hop legend is set to be joined by the likes of The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Queen Latifah, Common, De La Soul, Ice-T, and many more for ‘The F.O.R.C.E. Live’ arena run to mark 50 years of the genre.
FORCE stands for Frequencies Of Real Creative Energy.
To announce the shows, the 55-year-old rapper – whose real name is James Todd Smith – shared a video of himself entering an arena and silencing voices who tried to fill his mind with doubt that he could perform in front of the masses again.
The voice in his head says: “You haven’t been on an arena tour in 30 years, you really think you ready? You think somebody’s really going to pay to see you?”
The room was filled with applause and cheers as they asked: “You sure you ready for this?”
And J asserted: “I’m ready!”
The jaunt kicks off in Boston on June 25 and is due to wrap in Los Angeles on September 3.
The tour promises special “mash-ups” from the special guests.
The record producer captioned the clip on Instagram: “This is not a moment, it’s a movement.
“”For my first Arena tour in 30 years, I am bringing you THE F.O.R.C.E. (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy.) @theroots, @ztrip @djjazzyjeff215 will join me in the ultimate Hip-Hop mash-up with a legendary non-stop continuous set!

OHMYGOSSIP — McFly have released the new “party rock” anthem, ‘God Of Rock and Roll’, and announced a UK tour.
It marks the second single from the pop rock group’s upcoming album, ‘Power To Play’ – which will be released on June 11 – and follows the equally guitar-driven lead single, ‘Where Did All The Guitars Go?’
Of the new song and album, the ‘Obviously’ band said: “Once we had landed on the fact that we were going to do 80s rock, there was just something in it that had such a McFlyness within it. High concept, guitars front and centre, colourful. It’s all the things we have always loved about music and what we do with this band. It’s a party rock song at its core, but its seed was that if there was a god of rock and roll, we would undoubtedly be worshipping him. A lot of that came from going to shows ourselves. We all went to see Green Day, Fall Out Boy and Weezer last year and seeing so many people had come to the same place to enjoy rock music was incredible. Rock music celebrates life and having fun, and it feels like we all got deprived of that for such a long time.”
The songs on the LP have been inspired by ‘Stranger Things’.
The ‘All About You’ hitmakers have gone for a heavier sound, and not only are they “mega stoked” to be bringing back guitar-driven songs, but bassist Dougie Poynter also revealed a particular scene in the Netflix sci-fi series last year, which saw Eddie Munson perform Metallica’s ‘Master Of Puppets’, was a driving force.
He recently told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It was really sad when the guitar music disappeared for a little while so we’re mega stoked (to be bringing it back).
“I almost f****** cried when I was watching ‘Stranger Things’ and Eddie defeated the bad guys by playing a Metallica song.
“I was like, ‘this is absolutely huge’.
“I thought that was one of the coolest things.
“That was f***ing rad.
“We’d finished the album by the time I saw ‘Stranger Things’ but then I saw that scene with Eddie and that was the beginning of the song ‘God of Rock + Roll’.
“The biggest inspiration behind that song was Eddie from ‘Stranger Things’.”
As for the tour, the group – also comprising Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones and Harry Judd – are playing a number of intimate underplay shows, as well as rocking London’s Alexandra Palace for the very first time on October 27.
Tickets for the UK tour go on general sale from May 5.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie has reportedly been inspired by her love of musical theatre on her new album.
The 32-year-old singer is said to have finished work on her upcoming third record – the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Therapy’ – and has seemingly channelled ‘I’d Do Anything’ from the iconic musical ‘Oliver!’ on one of the songs after appearing on the West End when she was younger.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Anne-Marie has been working really hard on this album for the best part of two years and is super proud of the record.
“Like with ‘Therapy’, lyrically it’s been inspired by her own experiences but the sound has advanced.
“One track is a nod to her musical theatre days and inspired by ‘I’d Do Anything.’ ”
Anne-Marie previously admitted her experience in musical theatre meant it was a shock when she got signed to her first record deal aged just 17.
She told TimeOut magazine: “I was like: ‘What the f*** is this world?’ I was so invested in musical theatre, when you become other people and sing other people’s songs.
“Then, all of a sudden, it was like: ‘Who do you want to be? What music do you want to make? What do you stand for?’
“I don’t f****** know. I’m still figuring that s*** out.”
Despite the demands of fame and life as a Top 40 artist, Anne-Marie has remained self aware and learned to shrug off people who might dismiss her music for being “just pop”.
She added: “I could have only sung songs written by someone else. But it doesn’t bother me if people don’t see I tried really hard at writing a song.
“If they don’t appreciate it, I don’t get mad. As long as I know that I’m speaking my truth and that it could touch one person, then I’ll do it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Take That are to release their first new music in five years after teaming up with Calum Scott.
The trio – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald – have re-recorded their 2008 number one hit ‘Greatest Day’ with the 34-year-old singer.
Calum told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “I was really nervous about jumping on a song that was already such a smash and recording on my vocal in there but it was also such an honour.
“Gary and I hit the studio together for a day working on a new section and doing new vocals and then we went it to the boys [Mark and Howard] to rerecord their parts.”
Calum also chatted to Gary about writing some new, original music together.
He said: “We said after this track we want to get in the studio together and write original music.
“I’m in the middle of working on my third album so hopefully we can do something for that.
“I’m excited to be able to work with him. Even being linked to a band like Take That is wild.”
DJ Robin Schulz has added some dance influence to the stripped-back, anthemic number, which is released on May 5th and will feature on the band’s musical film ‘Greatest Days’, which is due to drop on June 16th.
Speaking about the new song, Take That said: “‘Greatest Day’ is a special song for us – it was one of our biggest singles, and our 11th No.1.
“It’s been fantastic being in the studio working on the new version of the track with Calum and Robin, both such talented artists.
“With the movie ‘Greatest Days’ coming out this summer we wanted to do something special with the title track and we were really excited that Calum and Robin agreed to be involved.
“They have been brilliant! We’re really excited for everyone to hear it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Winehouse’s innermost thoughts will be laid bare in a book being released ahead of what would have been the singer’s 40th birthday.
Fans of the ‘Back to Black’ singer, who died aged 27 in 2011 from alcohol poisoning, are set to get a deeper understanding of her life as ‘In Her Words’ will features Amy’s never-before-seen journals, handwritten lyrics and family photographs.
An announcement on its release on Amy’s Instagram account, now managed by her estate, said about the 288-page hardcover book, which will be published on 29 August: “Coming this August, ‘Amy Winehouse: In Her Words.’
“Much has been said about Amy Winehouse since her tragic death aged just 27. But who was the real Amy?
“‘Amy Winehouse: In Her Words’ shines a spotlight on her incredible writing talent, her wit, her charm and lust for life.
“Bringing together Amy’s own never-before-seen journals, handwritten lyrics and family photographs together for the first time, this intimate tribute traces her creative evolution from growing up in North London to global superstardom, and provides a rare insight into the girl who became a legend.”
The full-colour book is available to pre-order now and a link was provided so fans could reserve a copy.
It will show her “fun and witty side”, according to her parents, Janis and Mitch Winehouse, who have written a foreword to the book.
They said in a statement: “This beautiful new collection of Amy’s notes and musings shows another side of Amy – her fun and witty side. We wanted to share this with Amy’s fans so that they too can enjoy Amy, in her words”.
The release of the book will come two weeks before what would have been Amy’s 40th birthday on 14 September.
Her estate has pledged to donate all royalties from the book’s sales to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, with a minimum donation of £70,000 promised.
A biopic about the singer, ‘Back to Black,’ is also currently in production, with Sam Taylor-Johnson at the helm.
The film will star Marisa Abela as Amy and Jack O’Connell as her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, with Eddie Marsan and Leslie Manville playing her dad and maternal grandmother.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has blamed ‘Friends’ for helping destroy music sales.
The High Flying Birds frontman, 55, who is currently promoting his latest solo album ‘Council Skies’, added the explosion in expensive coffee houses has also contributed to the collapse of culture as it leads to people talking rubbish and spending money on massively inflated food and drink they could be using to support artists.
He was quoted by the Daily Star saying: “It is sitting around in sweaters drinking overpriced coffee and talking about nonsense.
“Since the rise of the coffee shop, culture has disappeared. People are horrified that they have to pay for music!
“But $20 for two coffees, oh, absolutely. I haven’t got the brain capacity to process this.”
In 2018, he ranted to NPR: “Since the rise of the coffee shop, culture has disappeared, don’t you think? People are horrified that they have to pay for music. Music! But $20 for two coffees, ‘Oh, absolutely’.
“I feel like the resistance to pay for music came after people got used to that. Maybe it’s that they got used to spending a lot on commodities that feel like culture – like coffee – and then changed their financial priorities. Or maybe it’s that, all of a sudden, music was free.”
Noel added in the chat in a previous dig at the ‘Friends’ sitcom: “I blame ‘Friends’ (for) the rise of the coffee shop. Sitting around in sweaters drinking overpriced coffee and talking about nonsense.”
Asked what he thought embodied the spirit of rock ’n’ roll, Noel said: “To me, it’s freedom of thought. Freedom of expression. It’s not about the leather jacket and the Jack Daniels, though that always helps.
“Rock and roll to me was about Led Zeppelin and The Beatles and the Stones and the Sex Pistols.
“Somewhere in the middle of the ’90s, people started mass-producing Rolling Stones 1971 tour t-shirts and MC5 T-shirts.
“People would say, ‘That’s so rock and roll, innit?’ and it lost its thing.”

OHMYGOSSIP — N-Dubz have released their latest single ‘February’ after signing a new global deal with EMI Records.
Cousins Tulisa Contostavlos and Dappy – born Costadinos Contostavlos – both 34, along with Fazer, real name Richard Rawson, 36, co-wrote the song which was produced by Fazer.
It premiered on Kiss FM on Tuesday (27.04.23) morning and is now available on all streaming services.
The track features the band’s trademark back-and-forth storytelling, with a press release on the tune saying it features “production that sounds both current and classic N-Dubz”.
In 2022, the three-piece reunited and went on a massive sold-out arena tour – one of the biggest music tours of the year – playing four nights at London’s O2 Arena.
The band also played to more than 250,000 fans in 27 sold-out arenas across Britain.
N-Dubz dominated the UK charts with their first two albums, ‘Uncle B’ and ‘Against all Odds’, with both going platinum.
In 2009, they collaborated with Tinchy Stryder for ‘Number One’, which topped the UK Singles Chart.
The band has won four MOBO awards, including best newcomer in 2007, best album and best act in 2009, as well as best song in 2010 for their single ‘Playing with Fire.’
They also won an O2 Silver Clef Award in 2009 and were nominated for best British single at the BRITs in 2010.
The trio’s third album, ‘Love.Live.Life’ from 2010 charted at number seven and became their third successive platinum-selling album, but the group then took an 11-year hiatus to pursue solo careers before announcing their reunion in May 2022, marked by the release of single ‘Charmer’ and a sold-out UK arena tour in November and December.

OHMYGOSSIP — McFly rejected the chance to enter Eurovision a decade ago.
Bandmates Harry Judd, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, all 37, and Dougie Poynter, 35, said despite being asked to join the contest they didn’t think it was the right fit, but added they would “never say never” about another go as they feel it’s a great launching pad for new artists.
Harry told Metro.co.uk: “We were actually really pursued (for Eurovision) about 10 years ago. But it wasn’t right for us.”
He added he felt the contest is better suited to “new artists” waiting “to be discovered”, but insisted: “It’s a great platform, you get seen by European countries – I guess never say never.”
The group are gearing up to release new album ‘Power to Play’ and Dougie said their producer called their ideas “boring” before making them write with “everything we loved about our band” in mind.
He said about what they ended up focusing on: ‘It was live shows, the fact we don’t take ourselves too seriously, guitar solos, air drumming, loads of fun live s***. We took it from there.”
Harry added their days of touring now are very different from the 200s as they will be taking their kids on the road.
The dad-of-three said: “They’re entering that age where they’ll come on the bus a bit.
“It would be a dream for me to play alongside my kids. It’s hair at the back of your neck excitement.”
Harry also said playing live gave the group “some of the best times” he thinks he will “ever have”.
And he recalled “fever dream”-style high points for the four-piece included the time they “jammed” with Queen guitarist Brian May.
The band have already released their new single ‘God of Rock and Roll’ and they are set to tour from autumn.
They also already have their eye on the distant future, joking their days on the road could end in the same way as Abba, who have used holographic technology to stage a comeback.
Dougie said: “The Abba show – that’s where it’s heading. We’ve maybe got another 10 years left before it’s AI!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has declared there will not be an Oasis reunion tour next year despite a new album on the way from the band.
Fans’ hopes had been building brothers Noel, 55, and Liam, 50, would reform, but the older Gallagher sibling has squashed talk they will get back together to mark the 30th anniversary of their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, released on 29 August 1994.
But promising there would be a special release of the record coming out, which will feature a host of previously lost songs from the recording sessions, he told Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera: “In the Sony archives we’ve found tapes dating to those sessions.
“We thought they were lost, but they were mislabelled. They are wonderful versions of those songs, some acoustic versions.
“There won’t be a tour – we won’t come back to play them together.”
The new tracks being added to the re-release will include acoustic versions of classics such as ‘Live Forever’, ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Supersonic’.
Noel added about he knew he was onto a hit when he played ‘Live Forever’ to Oasis bandmates Bonehead: “We were nobody. I was in a flat in Manchester on a Tuesday afternoon. I took it to rehearsal and Bonehead said, ‘You didn’t write that.’
“I knew it’d be a classic.”
Noel recently said Liam had only to “get his people to call my people” about getting Oasis back together, with Liam saying: “It’s happening.”

OHMYGOSSIP — SUGA says his upcoming solo world tour will show who BTS’ SUGA, his solo alter ego Agust D, and the real Min Yunki is.
The K-Pop star is the first member of the South Korean boy band to embark on a solo jaunt across the world, and each of his personas and the real person behind the music will be present in what he’s teased is “a tour beyond what everyone can imagine.”
He told NME: “This tour will show Suga and Agust D as an artist, and Min Yunki as a person.
“I’ll just put it like this, ‘SUGA, Agust D and Min Yunki’s tour that will burn it up’. I dare say it’ll be a totally different tour from previous BTS tours, and a tour beyond what everyone can imagine.”
The ‘SUGA Agust D Tour’ takes in North America, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan.
Alongside his debut album, ‘D-Day’, SUGA’s Disney+ documentary, ‘SUGA: Road to D-Day’, was released last week.
The film chronicles the artist’s solo album journey, which saw him visit the US, Korea and Japan in search of inspiration for the record, which marks the bookend of his trilogy of solo EPs, following 2016’s ‘Agust D’ and 2020’s ‘D-2’.
The doc features collaborators and friends in the industry, including Halsey, Steve Aoki, Anderson .Paak and the late Ryuichi Sakamoto.
The 30-year-old rapper-and-songwriter said: “Just finding joy in travelling is itself a new discovery for me.
“Also, I gained a lot from having genuine interactions with greatly renowned international musicians who I had a chance to collaborate with or was very close with personally. It was [a] great lesson for me as an artist and also from person to person.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Damon Albarn would love to see Gorillaz collaborate with Kate Bush.
The Blur star has admitted he hopes the animated band – which he launched with artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998 – can get the ‘Running Up That Hill’ hitmaker on one of their songs after working with the likes of Sir Elton John and Lou Reed in the past.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “Well, Kate Bush, that would be wonderful.
“I’ve never formally asked, but sometimes it’s better to drop hints and hope for a reaction. But it’s almost impossible to get her out of her world.”
Although Damon isn’t sure if the reclusive singer would be interested, he joked he could have a way to find out.
He added: “I actually know where she lives because we are neighbours in Devon.
“If I want, I could go to her place by foot. Maybe one stormy night I’ll risk knocking on her door.”
Meanwhile, the musician revealed how Gorillaz – which just played at Coachella over the weekend joined by the likes of Bad Bunny, De La Soul and Beck – is able to stay fresh and relevant because of the animation.
He said: “That’s the reason this adventure continues.
“You know, for someone my age to aspire to be popular among teenagers normally shouldn’t be on the agenda, but the fact is is, is thanks to Gorillaz.”
And he admitted he has long had the desire to one day see Murdoc, 2-D and the other animated characters perform live as holograms or a similar form of technology.
He teased: “ABBA eventually did it before us, this was obviously something we were legitimately working on.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Missy Elliot was inspired to take up a music career after witnessing her mother in an “abusive relationship.”
The 51-year-old rap superstar has now sold more than 40 million records worldwide since releasing her first album ‘Supa Dupa Fly’ in 1997 and when asked by her fan on social media to share the “inspiration” for her career, she admitted it was to help her mother get out of a troublesome time and to combat a male-dominated industry.
The fan tweeted: “I wanna know like what inspired her and what was her drive to remain persistent in a male-dominated industry at the time.”
Missy replied: “I seen many strong women in the industry be4 me that made it through and my mom was in a abusive relationship so I told her I would make it so I could get her out of that situation ad I would make sure she’d never have to work again that’s what really kept me going.”(sic)
The ‘Work It’ hitmaker previously revealed that she never felt as if she “fitted in” anywhere and wasn’t entirely sure that people understood her music as she noticed that fellow rap star Doja Cat was starting to carve out her own lane in the industry.
In an interview with the ‘Woman’ hitmaker for Interview magazine, she said: “Sometimes you gotta take a chance. I never felt like I fit in, period. I don’t think there was a lane for the music that we did. The only reason they found a lane is because I was rapping over the tracks. But at first, I don’t think people understood the music. You’re starting to create your own lane. It probably won’t ever fit, but people will love it. ”

OHMYGOSSIP — U2’s upcoming Las Vegas residency will be unlike anything else in the world as the crowd is placed in a “360-degree sonic spectrum”.
The Irish music legends are set to perform their acclaimed 1991 album ‘Achtung Baby’ at the “immersive” Sphere venue at The Venetian in Sin City in September and October.
And the ‘With or Without You’ hitmakers have explained why it will be a special performance like no other due to the venue being built for cinema and performance, not sport.
Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, frontman Bono said: “Most music, over playing a theatre, most music venues are sports venues. They’re stadiums, they’re arenas. They’re built for sports. They’re not built for music, they’re not built for art. So this building was built for immersive experiences in cinema and performance. It was not built for [sports], you can’t come here and see an ice hockey game.
“There are no speakers. The entire building is a speaker. So wherever you are, you have perfect sound is the plan.”
Guitarist The Edge said: “There’s nothing else like it in the world and won’t be for many, many years.”
He went on: “So what this has been designed to achieve is completely immersive sound. So you’ve got the main array of speakers is above our heads, but throughout the entire building are speakers that are focused so that you have the capability of placing the audience inside a whole 360-degree sonic spectrum.”
The musician hailed the visuals “ground-breaking” and the sound “cutting edge”.
The Edge added: “This can do that kind of Atmos mixing in a live context, which has never ever been possible before. So not only is the visual side of it ground-breaking, but the audio side of it is again, cutting edge.”
It’s a unique experience for fans lucky enough to get tickets, but the band still plan to return to touring stadiums and arenas.
Bono said: “We’re not touring ‘Achtung Baby’ anyway. So, with ‘The Joshua Tree’, we took that album around the world. This will only be here.”
The Edge added: “Touring itself is not over. Don’t forget it’s 18,000 to 20,000 people a night, so it’s not like you’re not going to be doing a hundred shows.”

The second wave of artists set to play the huge summer concert at London’s Wembley Stadium, on June 11, have been confirmed on ‘Capital Breakfast’.
Joining the ‘American Idol’ alum and ‘Easy Lover’ singer are Calvin Harris, who will likely perform mega-hit ‘Miracle’ with Ellie, plus Jax Jones, rising star Coi Leray, girl group FLO, Niall Horan, and rapper ArrDee.
The Jonas Brothers and Lewis Capaldi were among the first acts confirmed for the ball.
On the Capital FM show on Monday morning (24.04.23), Roman Kemp, Chris Stark and Sian Welby announced that the US pop trio, ‘Forget Me’ singer, plus Anne-Marie, Sigala, RAYE, Tom Grennan, Jess Glynne, Joel Corry, Mimi Webb, and Zara Larsson are set to perform.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Smith has postponed a second date on their ‘Gloria’ tour after they and their team came down with a virus.
The ‘Unholy’ hitmaker rescheduled their concert at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro Arena on Saturday (21.04.23) due to a mystery virus, and now they’ve been forced to push back Tuesday’s (25.04.23) Birmingham show at the Resorts World Arena until May 27.
In a statement on social media, Sam said: “Sailors, I am so sorry to let you know that my team and I are still really not well, so unfortunately we need to reschedule out Birmingham show to the 27th of May 2023.
“It’s so important to me that we give you the very best version of Gloria. I don’t want you to experience it at anything less.
Thank you so much for understanding, I know how excited everyone is to see the show, and I feel the same about seeing all of you.

The Glasgow date will now take place on May 25.
Sam said in a previous statement regarding the Scottish gig: “Sailors, I’m so sorry to say but we have to reschedule the Glasgow show to 25th May 2023.
“Myself and a lot of my team have been hit with a virus, that’s made us really unwell.”
The 30-year-old singer has been trolled online for their daring outfits and dancing in stripper heels, while the show continues to be branded “satanic”.
The star dresses up as the Devil like they did when they performed ‘Unholy’ at the BRITs and Grammys earlier this year.
Some people were so offended by the hell-themed performance that they complained to Ofcom.
A spokesperson said after the BRITs: “We received 106 complaints about The Brit Awards on ITV1 on 11 February.
“The majority of complaints related to Sam Smith’s performance, with the remainder about the use of offensive language and consumption of alcohol.”
