OHMYGOSSIP — Rick Astley and Blossoms are to reunite at Glastonbury to perform their tribute to The Smiths.
The 80s pop legend – who has just announced his ninth studio album, ‘Are We There Yet?’ – and the indie rock band performed covers of the iconic Manchester group’s hits at shows in 2021, and according to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, they are set to do just that on the Woodsies stage at Worthy Farm on Saturday (24.06.23).
The Pretenders have also been confirmed as a last-minute addition to the Park Stage that day.
Lead vocalist Chrissie Hynde said of playing the world-famous festival: “It’s been there for most of our lifetimes.
“There has never been a festival like it.”
Pulp and Hozier are also reportedly playing secret sets on the Woodsies stage – formerly the John Peel Stage.
The Britpop legends are said to be taking to the stage at 6pm on Saturday (24.06.23), while the ‘Take Me To Church’ hitmaker’s set is to take place from 7.30pm on Friday (23.06.23).
A source told the newspaper earlier this week: “Every year Glastonbury likes to keep fans on their toes and this year is no different.
“Both Pulp and Hozier have signed up to play the festival ages ago but bosses decided to keep their names under wraps.
“Neither have played the farm for a while so no doubt their sets will be extra-special.”
The Foo Fighters are also said to be performing as The Churnups after the mystery band name appeared on the stage times.
Glastonbury takes place from June 21 to June 25 in Somerset, South West England.
Arctic Monkeys are topping the bill on Friday (23.06.23), Guns N’ Roses are headlining on Saturday (24.06.23), and Sir Elton John closes the festival on Sunday (25.06.23).
Cat Stevens/Yusef is playing the Sunday afternoon teatime slot reserved for music legends.

OHMYGOSSIP — Dr. Dre is set to be bestowed with the first-ever Hip-Hop Icon Award at the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards’ Celebration of 50 Years of Hip-Hop.
The 58-year-old music and tech mogul will be recognised for his trailblazing in the genre.
ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams commented: “Dr. Dre’s groundbreaking early work laid a foundation for Hip-Hop as we know it today.
“As a champion for some of today’s biggest artists and a successful entrepreneur, he changed the culture around Hip-Hop. Dre continues to be a pivotal figure in the music industry and we are thrilled to recognise him with the inaugural ASCAP Hip-Hop Icon Award as we mark 50 years of Hip-Hop.”
The former co-founder and co-owner of Death Row Records – who started out as a member of World Class Wreckin’ Crue in 1985, before finding fame with gangsta rap group N.W.A. – was previously handed ASCAP’s Founders Award in 2010.
Dre – who co-founded Beats Electronics with Interscope Records co-founder Jimmy Iovine – is credited as the pioneer of the West Coast G-funk subgenre of Hip-Hop.
West Coast rapper Snoop Dogg became the new owner of Death Row last year.
The 51-year-old star shot to fame after appearing on Dre’s seminal 1992 LP ‘The Chronic’, released on the legendary label, which Snoop was signed to himself and went on to put out his debut album, ‘Doggystyle’, a year later.
Dre will be honoured at the ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday (22.06.23).

OHMYGOSSIP — The Weeknd has teased that the title of the third album in his current trilogy will be unveiled “soon”.
The ‘Double Fantasy’ hitmaker – whose real name is Abel Tesfaye – is putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to 2020’s ‘After Hours’ and 2022’s ‘Dawn FM’, and he will be sharing more information about it shortly.
He told Variety: “I’m finishing the third part of this saga, of this trilogy. The name of it will come out soon, but it’s not called what some fans think it’s called… what they think it’s called is actually a song on the album, but that’s not what the actual album is called. [It’s unclear which speculative title he’s referring to.] So I’m just gonna say that.”
The ‘Idol’ star is currently on his ‘After Hours til Dawn Tour’, and he’s loved performing in the daylight because he can have a more “intimate” connection with his fans.
Gig-goers have been sharing videos of Abel, 33, rehearsing different songs for each night of the jaunt whilst they queue outside, as he has been dropping in surprise songs, including deep cuts, when he feels like it.
The ‘Take My Breath’ hitmaker said of the tour: “The performances are mostly in the daytime, so I get to see the audience. It’s easier to connect with their eyes and feels a bit more intimate, so instead of a performance, it feels like more of a conversation with them. Every night I’m changing up the set — I never do that, it’s usually very formulaic — so I’m spicing it up and going into deep, deep, deep cuts and older songs. I’ll rehearse it the day-of, and if the band is down, we’ll just throw a mini-set in there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Morrissey has announced the ’40 Years Of Morrissey’ global tour.
The former Smiths frontman is set to mark four decades in the music business with an epic jaunt that will take in Mexico City, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
The North American leg includes stops in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington D.C. and New York.
It all kicks off in Mexico City on September 10, and wraps with a four-night residency at New York City’s United Palace, concluding on October 25.
The 64-year-old musician recently announced a UK tour, which kicks off on July 8 in Portsmouth and wraps in London on July 22.
Meanwhile, the ‘Panic’ singer previously revealed he was seeking a “record label or private investor” to put out his new album ‘Without Music The World Dies’.
The musician – who was dropped by BMG in 2020 – left Capitol Records, as well as his management company, in December after signing a deal the previous year and accused them of refusing to release his 14th solo LP ‘Bonfire Of Teenagers’.
And he later announced another album he’s hoping to release, which he unveiled on his blog with the full tracklisting.
The bottom of the post read: “Capitol Records Los Angeles recently terminated their contract with Morrissey, therefore if any record label or private investor has interest in releasing this project, please contact Donnie Knutson at marfagiant@gmail.com.”
The record is produced by his long-time producer Joe Chiccarelli.
Morrissey accused Capitol of shelving his album to “proudly” promote Sam Smith’s “satanism” on their album ‘Gloria’.
Writing on his website, Morrissey ranted: “Capitol Records (Los Angeles) proudly promotes Sam Smith’s ‘satanism’; yet they consider the honest truth of Morrissey’s factual ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’ to be their biggest threat and they will not release it despite their contractual obligation and promise to do so.”
The singer went as far as accusing Capitol of signing ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’, “in order to sabotage it”.
A statement on his website read: “Morrissey is ‘too diverse’ for Universal Music Group. Capitol Records (Los Angeles) will not, after all, release Morrissey’s 2021 album ‘Bonfire Of Teenagers’.
“At the same time, Capitol Records (Los Angeles) are holding on to the album.
“Although Morrissey officially signed to Capitol Records Los Angeles, there has been no mention of Morrissey on Capitol’s website or on their Artists roster.
“Morrissey has said that although he does not believe that Capitol Records in Los Angeles signed ‘Bonfire of Teenagers’ in order to sabotage it, he is quickly coming around to that belief.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Greta Van Fleet’s Josh Kiszka has come out and revealed he’s been in a “loving” relationship with a man for the past eight years.
The 27-year-old frontman of the Grammy-winning rock band felt compelled to speak his truth after a number of anti-LGBTQ+ laws were passed in his home state of Tennessee.
In an inspiring statement, Josh wrote on Instagram: “Where I’ve settled a home in Tennessee, legislators are proposing bills that threaten the freedom of love. It’s imperative that I speak my truth for not only myself, but in hopes to change hearts, minds, and laws in Tennessee and beyond.
“The LGBTQ+ community is a cultural pillar, constantly championing positivity and acceptance through art, music, literature, film, and most importantly, legislation.
“The greatest mortal gift of all is our capacity to love and as we travel through time, may our greater understanding of the matter around and within us teach us to love ever deeper.”
Passed in February, the anti-drag bill – officially titled the Tennessee Senate Bill 3 – has since been temporarily halted, but was to prohibit adult cabaret from performing on public property and other places where minors could be present, and it included “male or female impersonators” under the banner of “adult cabaret”.
Violators were to face a fine of up to $1,000, and up to two years in prison.
However, US District Judge Thomas Parker issued a temporary injunction after hearing from both sides of the argument and decided the bill was too vague, with the word drag not even mentioned.
Another bill in the state prohibits gender-affirming care for minors.
Paramore’s Hayley Williams, 34, Sheryl Crow, 61, Jason Isbell, 44, and Brittany Howard, 34, performed a charity concert in protest of the bills.
In solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community, Hayley wrote on social media: “Once again our state has passed two regressive and unfathomably harmful bills.
“We stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ family and local LGBTQIA+ orgs in this fight, not only for inclusion for our friends and family in the queer community, but for radical acceptance and empowerment for each of them.
“Drag is not a crime. Gender-affirming healthcare for all, including our youth, is a necessity.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Perry would “put everything” he’s got into a new Aerosmith album – but he’s not sure it’s going to happen.
The ‘Dream On’ rocker would love to make a follow-up to 2012’s ‘Music From Another Dimension!’ but he admits it takes “a lot” to make a record and he and his bandmates aren’t getting any younger.
Asked by Classic Rock magazine if a follow-up to his 2018 solo record ‘Sweetzerland Manifesto’ is happening, he replied: “Not right at the moment. I just don’t see the time for it. I would put everything I have into doing another Aerosmith album if that’s even on the cards.”
When asked to expand on the possibility of a new Aerosmith record, the 72-year-old guitarist – who is also a member of Alice Cooper’s supergroup The Hollywood Vampires – admitted touring is more important at this stage.
He said: “I don’t know. At this point, I want to tour as much as we can. I want to get out and play to the fans. That’s really the focus right now, to get out and play live. If we get time to work on some new music, that would be great, but knowing [singer] Steven [Tyler] and knowing our age and what it takes to do an album… I don’t know. I’m always playing, I’m always writing stuff, but at this stage, I can’t say. I just want to get through this next tour and play live and give something back to the fans.”
However, Joe – who is joined by Steven Tyler, 75, Tom Hamilton, 71, Joey Kramer, 73, and 71-year-old Brad Whitford – insisted it’s impossible to rule out an album.
He added: “We’ve never been the kind of band that you can sit back and go, ‘Well, this is what the next three years are gonna be like, this is what our next five years are going to be like.’ Especially now, at our age. The air is getting thin up here, man. So many people are passing on into the next step, so to speak.”
The legendary rock band will begin their ‘Peace Out’ farewell tour in September.

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher thinks Guns N’ Roses headlining Glastonbury is “crazy s***”.
The former Oasis star is baffled by the decision for Axl Rose, Slash and the band to top the bill at Worthy Farm this weekend, and he thinks the slot should have gone to a top British act.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “What I found out Guns N’ Roses are headlining Glastonbury, I thought, ‘What? Are you being serious? That’s crazy s***’.
“When you think of all the huge British artists who’ve had albums out this past year, having Guns N’ Roses headlining the Saturday is mad.”
As well as the ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ rock icons, the other headliners announced for the festival this weekend are Arctic Monkeys and Sir Elton John.
Noel – who recently released new album ‘Council Skies – explained he won’t be in attendance as either a performer or punter due to his scheduling.
He said: “I would have been smart to play Glastonbury this year, but I played it last year because I’d been booked to do it in 2020 and everything got pushed back.
“There’s always next year to go back to Glastonbury – I’m not going anywhere.
“Because of lockdown, the band hadn’t played together for ages – and touring again is joyous.”
Instead, this summer Noel has decided to play a run of smaller festivals including the likes of Splendour, PennFest and Bingley Weekender.
He noted that while it’s not the best move in terms of growing an audience, it does almost guarantee a “great night” in front of a receptive audience.
He added: “What I like about boutique festivals is that pretty much everyone will go to see you.
“That makes the festival more like one of our own gigs. You won’t get new fans out of it, but you’ll have a great night.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has admitted there are “back-up plans” in place in case Arctic Monkeys have to pull out of their headline slot on Friday (23.06.23).
The rockers had to cancel their show at Dublin’s Marley Park on Tuesday night (20.06.23) after frontman Alex Turner was struck down with “acute laryngitis”, but Emily is confident the group will be “all right” to headline the iconic Pyramid Stage on Friday.
She is quoted by The Times newspaper as saying: “I think we are going to be all right.
“They’ve cancelled that, he’s recovering. I’m sure we’re going to be all right.
“We’ve got a couple of back-up plans if not. We’ve always got back-up plans for everything.”
Quizzed about whether a rumoured appearance by US rockers Foo Fighters could turn into a Friday headline slot if the ‘Mardy Bum’ hitmakers had to pull out, she said: “I wouldn’t like to give anything away.
“You’ve got to allow the surprise to happen. It’s all about the surprise.”
Emily co-organises the music festival, which takes place at Worthy Farm, Somerset, south west England, with her father Michael Eavis, 87, and Emily admitted he is “still very much here” at the spectacle.
Speaking as the gates to this year’s festival opened at 8am on Wednesday (21.06.23), she said: “He’s going to be waving everybody in. He’s doing really well. He had a late night last night.”
Arctic Monkeys said sorry to fans after pulling out of their Irish gig earlier this week.
A social media statement posted on Sunday (19.06.23) read: “We are extremely sorry to announce the cancellation of Arctic Monkeys’ show at Marley Park in Dublin Tomorrow.
“Alex and the band apologise for the huge disappointment this will inevitably cause to all their Irish fans. Full refunds will be credited back to the ticket purchaser’s account by Ticketmaster within the next six working days.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John will have four special guests for his Glastonbury show.
The ‘Rocket Man’ legend is headlining the Sunday night (25.06.23) at the iconic Worthy Farm festival this weekend and his husband David Furnish has teased a “very special” concert for everyone in attendance.
Speaking to Sky News presenter Beth Rigby, he said: “Four collaborators of his choosing. People, he just thought, ‘I’d really like to do something with these artists at Glastonbury’.
“And that’s all I’m going to say.”
David was asked who the guest stars could be, but he insisted he is “sworn to secrecy”.
He added: “This one is very special. It is not just another day in office. It’s a different setlist – it’s a huge outdoor live festival.
“He’s got four different collaborators joining him on stage at different times, who I won’t name, sorry.
“So, he’s done a lot of changes. A lot on his plate, so I think he’s anxious. Yeah, but I think good, anxious, healthy anxious.”
Meanwhile, David insisted his husband will be keeping busy and has more music plans even after his ongoing final ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour comes to an end next month.
He quipped: “I don’t think he’ll be sitting on the sofa with a remote control.
“He’s going to go back into the studio in October and start his next album. Which will be great. He’s not done a studio album in a long time.”
Sir Elton, 75, previously admitted he was “a little intimidated” by stepping out on the Pyramid Stage for the first time.
He told BBC Radio 2: “I’m a little, not frightened, but I’m a little intimidated by it because I haven’t played there, I haven’t been there.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Bush has thanked her fans after ‘Running Up That Hill’ hit one billion streams on Spotify.
The 64-year-old singer has seen her 1985 single enjoy a massive resurgence after it played a key role in the fourth season of Netflix hit ‘Stranger Things’ last summer, and now the track has hit an incredible milestone.
In a rare post on her website, Kate wrote: “A billion streams!
“I have an image of a river that suddenly floods and becomes many, many tributaries – a billion streams – on their way to the sea. Each one of these streams is one of you…
“Thank you! Thank you so much for sending this song on such an impossibly astonishing journey. I’m blown away.”
Last summer, the ‘Wuthering Heights’ songstress admitted it was “just extraordinary” to see ‘Running Up That Hill’ rising to the top of the charts after almost 40 years.
Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’, she said at the time: “I thought that the track would get some attention. But I just never imagined that it would be anything like this.
“It’s so exciting. But it’s quite shocking really, isn’t it? I mean, the whole world’s gone mad.”
Kate also explained that one “wonderful” thing about the revival is the way it is now reaching “a whole new audience” who have “never heard of [her]” in many cases.
She added: “The thought of all these really young people hearing the song for the first time and discovering it is, well, I think it’s very special.”
In ‘Stranger Things’, the song has a profound impact on Sadie Sink’s character Max, with a prominent placement and significance to the story.
Kate found its involvement “very touching”, and hailed the track as “a kind of Talisman, almost” in the context of the show.

OHMYGOSSIP — Andre 3000 is reportedly working on a new album.
The Outkast star is said to be preparing to release his first ever solo album after his guest spot on Killer Mike’s ‘Scientists and Engineers’, which marked his first track since appearing on Kanye West’s 2021 song ‘Life of the Party’.
During an interview with ‘Sway in the Morning’, host Sway mentioned Andre having an LP on the way, and Mike replied: “Yeah. I think we fly out in a couple weeks to go listen to it.”
After Mike showed Andre 3000 the track they collaborated on – which also features Future and is on his new album ‘Michael’ – the ‘Hey Ya!’ hitmaker showed him a heap of new material.
He added: “[He] played like nine, 10 joints for us and he said, ‘Well, just pick what you like and do something with it.’ ”
He noted Andre gave him two tracks to work with, and he teased that fans will hear one of them “in the future” which clocks in at 11 minutes.
He said: “Over the past decade, I’ve sent him records for me, Run The Jewels and stuff, and he’d come back like ‘Man, that shit’s hard. I’m just not into rapping right now.’ ”
Outkast’s last album dropped in 2006, and since then Andre 3000 has delivered guest verses for a range of musicians.
Most notably, he’s contributed to ‘Pink Matter’ with Frank Ocean, ‘Party’ with Beyonce and ‘Come Home’ with Anderson .Paak.
Andre previously admitted the reason for not making music for so long was simply having his “focus” elsewhere.
In an interview with the Broken Record podcast back in 2019, he told producer Rick Rubin: “I’d like to, but it’s just not coming.
“I haven’t been making much music, man.
“My focus is not there, my confidence is not there.
“Once the attention is on that world, the world goes away.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Roy Stride tells his kids that his covers of 1980s classics are his own.
The 44-year-old singer – who has Freddie and Rosie with his wife Lucy – has released a string of top-selling albums since launching Indie rock band Scouting For Girls with Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard in 2005 and has also covered 1980s pop classics like Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ and Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ as part of their 2021 record ‘Easy Cover’ but because his children don’t really understand his job, he passes the songs off as his own.
He told The Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “My kids, especially my son, don’t really get what we do. But they do love the 80s covers and I pass them off as my own! They go ‘Daddy, is this one of yours?’ and I go ‘Yeah, yeah this is one of mine, Rosie. Pretty good, isn’t it?”
Pete quipped: “She will be so heartbroken when she finds out. She’ll be like ‘Dad, someone called Cyndi Lauper has covered your song!'”
Meanwhile, the ‘She’s So Lovely’ hitmaker went on to add that his daughter has even been earning her pocket money by helping out the band with their new album, and was given the duty of removing all the cling film from copies of the CD ahead of the release ready for the rockers to sign.
He added: “She was paid to take all the cling film off the records before we signed them, it wasn’t quite minimum wage and it took her a lot longer than we thought it would!”
The ‘Heartbeat’ rockers were the “largest unsigned band in the UK” after they found fame on now-defunct social media platform MySpace but Roy went on to admit that they are a bit “too old” now to think about utilising more modern platforms such as TikTok and Instagram to connect with their fans.
He added: “Honestly, we’re not really sure on TikTok, we are a bit too old. We were the biggest unsigned band in the UK and I remember when we had a meeting with Sony when they first signed us we said ‘Look, we don’t need a website, we are massive on MySpace and that’s not ever going to go” How wrong I was! We were really late to Instagram and we are already late to TikTok.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Rod Stewart is swapping rock ‘n’ roll for swing.
The veteran performer, 78, has declared he’s keen to take on new challenges in the recording studio because he’s determined to leave “all the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind” – and has revealed he’s laid down a new swing album with piano man Jools Holland.
Speaking on ‘BBC Breakfast’, the ‘Maggie May’ star explained: “I am actually stopping … I’m not retiring. But I want to move on. I had a lot of success with the Great American Songbook, all American standards and I’ve just done a swing album with Jools Holland, which is going to come out next year, so I want to go in that direction. I just want to leave all the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind – for a while, maybe.”
He added: “Everything has to come to an end sooner or later … I’m really looking forward to doing something else. Especially singing with Jools’ band. It borders on rock ‘n’ roll anyway, it’s just not ‘Maggie May’ and ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy’.
As well as walking away from rock ‘n’ roll, Rod is also said to be moving back to his native UK after putting his home in Los Angeles on the market. He’s said to be keen to spend more time in Britain especially as his wife Penny is working as a volunteer police officer in London.

OHMYGOSSIP — Legendary saxophonist Leo Green is performing a residency at QT at Middle Eight in London.
The 50-year-old musician – who has also worked as a broadcaster on Radio 2 and Jazz FM – is performing at the venue, which is located inside luxury hotel Middle Eight in Covent Garden, every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Leo Green Experience show sees Leo and his band and singers take audiences through the hits of the last 30 years, putting Leo’s unmistakable and high energy on an array of popular songs from artists like Lizzo, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, George Michael, Prince and more.
Green has been one of the most in-demand saxophone players for decades and has worked with the likes of Rita Ora, Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles and Van Morrison.
Featuring table service, delivering an array of small plates and cocktails, the show features all of the surroundings of a glamorous old school nightspot but with a modern attitude, as dancing is encouraged.
Leo is currently working on around 50 projects, including programming the music at QT at Middle Eight, where his show takes place each week.
Recently, ‘Line of Duty’ star Adrian Dunbar attended one of Green’s shows and at one point he stepped on stage and surprised the audience by performing an Elvis Presley classic.
The 64-year-old actor performed a rendition of ‘That’s All Right’ accompanied by the band.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John has created an entirely new show for his Glastonbury performance.
The 76-year-old star is preparing to perform at the world-famous festival at Worthy Farm, and Elton has warned fans to expect the unexpected.
He told BBC Radio 1: “I’m starting with a song I haven’t played for about ten years, so we’ll see how it goes.
“I’ve got the setlist down, I’ve got rehearsal dates booked for the guest artists, so we just have to hope the weather will still be nice.”
Glastonbury marks the end of Elton’s touring commitments in the UK, and the chart-topping icon believes it’s the “perfect ending” for him.
Elton shared: “It’s a different show to what people have been seeing. On Farewell Yellow Brick Road, there’s quite a lot of deep cuts, it’s not all hits, and you’ve got to keep people interested.”
The singer’s upcoming appearance will mark his first-ever visit to Glastonbury, and Elton can’t wait to perform at the festival.
He said: “I’ve watched Glastonbury on the TV, and the thing that I love about Glastonbury is not the headliners, per se, it’s the people on the smaller stages that they give the chance to shine.

Elton is actually looking forward to watching some other artists perform at Glastonbury.
The ‘Your Song’ hitmaker explained: “There’s so many girls out there rocking it: You’ve got the Linda Lindas and you’ve got Wet Leg and you’ve got the Nova twins, who are just unbelievable.
“I’m so looking forward to seeing them live because they are, for me, phenomenal.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted are working on brand new music.
The ‘What I Go To School For’ trio have been re-recording their classic songs for an upcoming 15-track album celebrating their 20th anniversary, and it seems they’re also looking to the future.
On Monday (20.06.23) night, James Bourne tweeted: “We’re recording a new song.”
The group haven’t offered any further details about the new material, leaving fans to wait and see.
So far, they have released re-recording ‘Loser Kid 2.0’ featuring Simple Plan, while they have teamed up with Neck Deep on a full band version of acoustic track ‘Meet You There’.
They also dropped a surprise collaboration with Hanson – who will be supporting them on their anniversary tour UK tour later this year – as the two bands came together on ‘MMMBop 2.0’.
The ‘Year 3000′ group’s 15-date run kicks off in Plymouth on September 2 and wraps in Manchester on September 24, and the pop punk trio – which also features Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson – are making sure they’re in tip top shape.
Matt recently revealed that bandmate James had bought special trainers to help him nail their signature guitar jumps and protect “his knees”.
James added to Heat magazine: “I was speaking to Dougie [Poynter, from McFly and James’ McBusted bandmate] and he was saying he’s been struggling to jump because he wore bad trainers. It’s actually a big deal, choosing the right footwear for stage…”
Matt takes daily ice baths and Charlie – who was recently crowned the winner of TV’s ‘The Masked Singer UK’ as Rhino – keeps in shape but found sitting in freezing water too much.
Charlie said: “I guess keeping fit is good. I’ve also tried using an ice bath, as apparently they’re good for you. It was horrible.”
Matt chipped in: “I do one every day.
“You come up with your best ideas in that ice bath.
“I come up with some good s***. It gives you an instant dopamine hit.”
