OHMYGOSSIP — Dogstar want to continue to make new music.
The band – featuring bassist Keanu Reeves, guitarist-vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse – is back with new single ‘Everything Turns Around’ after a 23-year hiatus and will release an album ‘Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees’ on October 6.
However, they insisted that this is just the beginning and they plan to follow up the new single and album with even more music in the next few years.
Keanu told Variety Music: “We want to make another record. We wanna get in the studio, we wanna tour, we wanna play, we wanna travel, we wanna have great shows and have people have a really good time.”
While they are glad that their old fans are excited about the reunion, the band insisted that the new Dogstar music will be different to their previous work.
Bret said: “I think this is a little lighter maybe than some of the last albums, subject-matter-wise. I think we’re 20 years older, and a lot of life has been lived since the last time we made a record, and it was a nice surprise to see that this is what came out of us. You know, it turns out we’re not as depressed as we used to be. Not every song is summery and happy, but… I hate to say it, but it’s fun.”
Keanu added: “I would say it’s definitely representative of Dogstar today and not a comp with the Dogstar of the past. I think it’s developed, as Bret said, just who we are now. We had an amazing record producer, Dave Trumfio, and engineer, Ruddy Lee Cullers, and I think it’s a little more sophisticated. I think there’s a lot of craft in it to make it a feel so summery. so there’s a lot of intention and skill and craft behind the song. And I feel like it’s different than what we were in the past.”
And, Keanu thinks the band were unfairly labelled as “grunge” in their early days.
He said: “We were never a grunge band. Dogstar never chased a sound; we never chased being like anybody else. And we certainly weren’t grunge, ever.
“We have guitars. It’s rock songs. … I do want to call it indie pop rock folk.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Natasha Bedingfield wants to make her tours greener.
The 41-year-old singer/songwriter revealed she has been inspired by eco-conscious artists including Ellie Goulding and Coldplay, and she is considering travelling by boat rather than plane to her concerts.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s difficult [for people to speak out] in the music industry because we do use a lot of energy on our events when we fly, so it is hard because we’re all a part of the problem.
“I’m just trying to learn as much as I can. Maybe I can do a tour where we do it all by sailing boat.
“It would take a long time to get around the world.”
Coldplay previously shared how they are actively working to make their ‘Music Of The Spheres’ world tour as eco-friendly as possible.
They wrote on their website: “When we first announced the ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour, we hoped to make it as environmentally beneficial as possible and reduce our direct carbon emissions (from show production, freight, band and crew travel) by 50 per cent. We’d like to share how it’s been going; some things work and some things need improving.
“The emissions data from the first 12 months of the tour has now been collated, assessed and independently validated by Prof. John E. Fernandez of the MIT Environmental Solutions Initiative.
“On a show-by-show comparison, the Music Of The Spheres Tour has so far produced 47 per cent less CO2e emissions than our last stadium tour (2016-17).
“This is a good start – and something that our incredible crew should be very proud of – but clearly there’s still room for improvement.
“Now that we’re into the second year of the tour, we’ve started to run the entire show (audio, lights, lasers etc) from an electric battery system that allows us to use 100 per cent renewable energy as efficiently as possible. We have been using electric vehicles and alternative fuels wherever we can, as well as reducing waste and plastic usage to a minimum.
“Thank you to all the brilliant people and creative minds who’ve helped us so far .
“Thankyou too, SO MUCH, to everyone who’s come to a show and made all of this possible. You have helped charge the show batteries on the power bikes and kinetic dance floors; travelled to shows by foot, bicycle or public transport; used the recycling bins; ride-shared; brought refillable water bottles; returned the LED wristbands after the show. And just by coming you have had a tree planted, and helped a range of environmental organisations like The Ocean Cleanup and ClientEarth (a team of lawyers who defend the environment).

OHMYGOSSIP — George Michael was worried about Wham! “overshadowing” his solo career, according to Andrew Ridgeley.
The school mates former the pop duo in the 1980s and scored a string of huge hits including ‘Club Tropicana’ and ‘Careless Whisper’ before George walked away in 1986 to become a solo singing star – and now Andrew has revealed they had an unspoken agreement not to promote Wham! in case it hindered his pal’s plans to become one of the world’s biggest musicians.
Andrew told The Independent newspaper: “There was nothing to say [about Wham!]. It was an unspoken understanding between us that there would be no active development of the Wham! legacy, because Yog [George] wouldn’t want anything overshadowing the GM career.”
The band broke up following a farewell gig at London’s Wembley Stadium in June 1986 with George going on to become a solo superstar and Andrew fading into the background after mostly shunning the limelight since the early 1990s.
However, Andrew has insisted he wasn’t bitter about the end of Wham! He told the publication: “[The last concert] wasn’t tinged with any kind of sorrow or sadness or sense of loss. We hoped for a record deal. You had a record deal, you wanted a hit single. Hit single, you want a number one.
“I had no trepidation about what my life would be from that point. Because to be in a band with Yog [George] was the only ambition that I ever held with any great resolution; the prime feeling was just one of a job well done.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mark Ronson banned Bradley Cooper from using Lady Gaga’s ‘Joanne’ in ‘A Star Is Born’.
The producer recalled how he was working with the ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker on her fifth album, also called ‘Joanne’, at the same time she was preparing to work with the Hollywood hunk on the romantic drama, and the 48-year-old actor had come to visit them in the recording studio.
Bradley, who made his directorial debut with the film, was excited by what he got to hear, but while Mark knew he was a “big star and everything”, he stood firm in wanting to keep the track away from the movie.
Mark told NME: “We were working on Gaga’s album ‘Joanne’ and Bradley Cooper stopped by the studio one afternoon. I like his films. He showed up looking like a movie star. So we hung out.
“He was really sweet, talking about this new script that they were both doing. I played him the song called ‘Joanne’ and he’s like, ‘That’s great, can I have it?’
“I know he’s a big star and everything, but I really liked that song. And I kind of needed it for Gaga’s record.”
As a compromise, Mark agreed to find time in his schedule to work on a different track for the movie with Gaga, and he recalled the exact moment he knew ‘Shallow’ – which went on to win an Oscar – would be a hit.
He said: “We were working in this incredible studio in Malibu – Rick Rubin’s studio, Shangri La – and it had this really long echoey hallway.
“I have this very distinct memory of Gaga’s voice coming from 30 feet away, sounding so excited about something as she came in. She sat down at the piano and started singing ‘I’m off the deep end…’”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Williams has undergone a “week of misery” after cancelling a number of Paramore concerts.
The group postponed four shows on their current US tour due to illness, and the 34-year-old frontwoman took to Instagram to reveal her body “just gave out” after she initially tried to battle through her undisclosed symptoms.
She wrote on her Instagram story ahead of the band’s return to the stage at the BOK Center in Tulka, Oklahoma, on Saturday (29.07.23): “As you know, we postponed a handful of dates due to illness. We kick back up Saturday in Tulsa (!!!) after a week of misery, sadness, and bellyfuls of antibiotics and steroids.
“For the record, we did not have food poisoning or a band-wide s*** fest.
“In all seriousness, this past week has been really tough. Nobody would know this but I started getting sick in Houston (non contagious) and muscled my way all the way through LA. Adrenaline is a wonder! But by the time the excitement and the nerves from all the LA shenanigans wore off, my body just gave out.”
The ‘Ain’t It Fun’ singer admitted touring has grown more and more difficult as she’s got older, but she still finds going out on stage “very healing”.
She continued: “Touring is different at 34 than it was at 16, when leaving home felt like the greatest escape.
“At this age, I have my own home life, a community, a dog, my sisters and the rest of my family who are getting older… Alf and I go on neighborhood walks with my elderly neighbor and her dog. It’s quite a lot to leave behind.
“But then, we get on stage for 2 hours and I see the world through this joyous, hopeful and wide-open lens. It’s a view I simply cannot get from home. And it’s very healing — especially as obsessed and addicted to the daily doom-scroll of local, national, and global news as I am.”
Hayley went on to thank audiences for helping to “revive” her.
She wrote: “This tour has done my heart a lot of good. I couldn’t be more grateful for the faces I see the first few seconds after we walk onstage during the intro. Those people revive me, nightly.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora has described her new album as a a diary that has been “turned into songs”.
The pop star released her third record ‘You and I’ earlier this month and she’s now revealed it’s her most personal offering to date as she sings about her life and love affair with husband Taika Waititi in tracks that reflect her journey towards happiness.
In an interview with Tatler magazine, she explained: “My first album [2012’s ‘Ora’] set the tone, and the second [2018 record ‘Phoenix’] was an intensified version of the first. It was me trying to hit all the marks and impress. Trying to be this pop star by the book.
“But I never really was by the book. I was never on the safe side – and that’s what made my fans back me’. So the third album is a real diary, almost. A diary turned into songs.”
She also touched on her varied career which has now spanned more than a decade and involved singing, acting and even being a judge on UK reality TV show ‘The Voice’, revealing she hopes to model herself on her hero Jennifer Lopez.
Rita added: “A lot of people who started at the same time as me are not still doing it … I always try to find little corners and little cracks that work for me. And that comes from my inspiration, which growing up was Jennifer Lopez – women who were expected not to do as well as they have done. The underdogs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Foo Fighters teamed up with Alanis Morissette to pay tribute to Sinead O’Connor at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival.
Dave Grohl’s band were on the bill alongside the ‘Ironic’ star on Saturday night (29.07.23) and they joined forces to put on a special performance dedicated to the late singer who passed away on Wednesday (26.07.23) aged 56.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave told the crowd: “For a very special reason, ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome to sing a song with us, Alanis Morissette. We’re singing this song for a reason tonight.”
Alanis then added: “For a beautiful woman, with high intelligence and deep empathy, way ahead of her time, who’s no longer with us, this is for her.”
They then performed Sinead’s track ‘Mandinka’ – the second song from her 1987 debut album ‘The Lion and the Cobra’.
After they finished, Alanis told the audience: “May Sinead rest in some peace.”
Sinead was found dead at a flat in Herne Hill, south London just weeks after moving to the city.
Following the tragedy, her family confirmed the sad news in a statement which read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinead. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”
A statement from the Metropolitan police added: “Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Sinead’s death came 18 months after the mum-of-four’s son Shane, 17, took his own life in January 2022 after leaving a hospital where he was on suicide watch.

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey is “approaching” her new album with “no strict genre parameters”.
The ‘Nightmare’ singer has provided fans with an update on her follow-up to 2021’s ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’ and revealed she’s done “some of my best songwriting” penning tunes in the same way she did for her 2020 LP ‘Manic’.
Asked by a fan on Twitter how she is doing with the record, she replied: “As of right now I’m approaching it kinda how I approached ‘Manic’. No strict genre parameters or anything. Just making what feels good and what hits home.”
She added that she’s done “some of my best songwriting” and that “a lot of life has happened to me since I wrote [‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power’] (sic)”
Last month, the ‘Without Me’ hitmaker signed a new record deal with Columbia Records after parting ways with Capitol.
In April, the ’11 Minutes’ singer’s managers, Anti-Pop’s Jason Aron and Anthony Li, confirmed Halsey – who uses the pronouns she/they – had departed Capitol Records after eight years, however, she also teased new music is on the way.
In a statement issued to Variety, Halsey said at the time: “After eight great years the decision to leave Capitol is bittersweet, but we are excited about exploring a new partnership and sharing new music with fans.”
The label added: “Everyone at Capitol poured their hearts and souls into helping Halsey achieve their dreams and present their music to the world.
“We are incredibly proud of all we accomplished together and wish Halsey the very best in all their future endeavours.”
And the outlet later confirmed that the singer is back with the major label she released her hits ‘Closer’ and ‘Without Me’ via.
While no reason for the split from Capitol’s Astralwerks imprint was made clear, the 28-year-old pop star previously got into a dispute with Capitol about her song ‘So Good’, with the label allegedly wanting the track to go viral on TikTok before its release.
In an ironically viral TikTok, the ‘Bad At Love’ singer claimed the label wouldn’t release the tune, “unless they can fake a viral moment on TikTok.”
She had written in the caption: “Basically I have a song that I love that I wanna release ASAP.
“But my record label won’t let me.”
She later shared a clip of the track on the video-sharing app and said: “After a tremendous amount of f*** s***, ‘So Good’ is finally coming out June 9th. Video dropping the next day. And now I can go back to using TikTok for my real plan: Using witchcraft to take over the world.

OHMYGOSSIP — Anne-Marie is planning to have “a little” break before diving into her next release.
The 32-year-old pop star has just dropped her third studio album, ‘UNHEALTHY’, and she admits she needs to take a breather rather than continue to pen lyrics about “the same ex” from when she was a teenager.
Speaking to Rebecca Judd on Apple Music 1, she said: “You know what? Every time I release an album, I go straight into working on the next one and I think I need to live a little bit. Otherwise, I’m just going to keep writing about the same ex I’ve had from when I was 18. So definitely after these few weeks, I’m going to just chill and then figure out what the next me is.”
‘UNHEALTHY’ features her collaboration of the same name with country icon Shania Twain, ‘PSYCHO’ with rapper Aitch, and ‘You and I’ with Khalid.
And the ‘2002’ hitmaker admitted she was surprised that the ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ hitmaker, 57, agreed to feature on the track.
She shared: “Because everyone was saying she was really busy and stuff. And I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah. They’re just saying that to make me feel better.’ But then she did. I was honestly over the moon and she was so great. When I met her, I was trying to be cool and she was screaming and so excited, which made me feel like I can just be a little weirdo as well. Just, yeah, totally great. And when I meet people like Shania and [Sir] Tom Jones and David Guetta who have been in the industry for so long … I love the energy that they give off because they have done it for so long and they still love music so much. It’s like they’re not just over it. They just, they still love it. And she had that energy, so I loved it.”
Anne-Marie – who collaborated with Ed Sheeran in the past and recorded at his Suffolk studio called Decoy – is a huge Eminem fan and hopes her pal can organise for her to record a song with the rap icon.
Asked who else is on her bucket list to collaborate with, Anne-Marie replied: “Eminem. But Ed brought him on stage the other day and I’m like, ‘Ed, can you help me out?’ Imagine that. Ed Sheeran, can you get me in contact with Eminem? Who would’ve thought?”
Ed, 32, brought out Eminem, 50, at the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, on July 15, for ‘Lose Yourself’ and ‘Stan’.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Shins’ former bassist, Neal Langford, has died aged 50.
The American indie rock band’s frontman James Mercer, 52, confirmed the sad news on the band’s official Instagram page in a touching tribute, in which he credited his late ex-bandmate and best friend with helping him get over his stage fright.
He began: “Just want to let you guys know one of the best friends I’ve ever had has passed.
“He was in several bands with me including the Shins. A very important figure in my life you could say.
“I mean this is the guy who talked me into getting over my shyness and up on the stage. He put me in front of the microphone!”
Recalling their antics growing up, he continued: “He was the catholic school kid who showed me how to sneak into the back of the old El Rey theatre and get a “free” beer. An invaluable person! Who turned me onto Dinosaur Jr. and Interview Magazine and the Cocteau Twins and countless other piles of cool stuff. He would pick me up in his stepdad’s El Camino and we’d listen to his latest mixtape. With our swerve on. Driving when we probably shouldn’t have been. Where we shouldn’t have been. We were like that. A long time ago. There’s too much to the story but I loved him. And I owe him a lot. Neal Langford you were always loved and you always will be.”
Neal, who co-owned hot air balloon company, IBX Balloon Flight, and was a balloon pilot, was pronounced dead on July 21, after being found in Bath Creek in South Carolina, near a private dock, WITN reports.
At the time of writing, the musician’s cause of death is not known. However, it’s not being treated as suspicious.
James and Neal started out in the band Flake, which became Flake Music, in the 90s.
Drummer Jesse Sandoval formed The Shins in 1996, with Neal coming on board in 1999, and Flake Music going their separate ways.
They released their debut studio album, ‘Oh, Inverted World’, in 2001.
However, Neal quit two years later, before they released their second record, ‘Chutes Too Narrow’.
It was their third album, 2007’s ‘Wincing the Night Away’ (2007), that proved to be their biggest success, scoring them a Grammy Award nomination.
They then signed to Columbia Records. However, frontman James parted ways with the original lineup, calling it “an aesthetic decision”.
After five years away, The Shins returned with the LP ‘Port of Morrow’, in 2012.
Their latest record is 2017’s ‘Heartworms’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Azealia Banks has former BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw to thank for stopping her from quitting music.
The 32-year-old rapper contemplated giving up her music career to go to college to study teaching because she didn’t think people cared about her music when she was dropped by XL Recordings after sending them her biggest known track, 2011’s ‘212’.
In a New York Times profile marking the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop, she confessed: “I was thinking maybe I should go get a GED (General Education Development Certificate) and go to college.”
However, Nick loved the song and regularly included it on his playlists, and a little while after, she started getting offered larger sums of money to play gigs.
She added: “Then I just get this phone call from Nick Grimshaw on BBC Radio 1, and he’s played it (‘212’) like a million times.
“I didn’t even know what BBC Radio 1 was. And then very quickly you go from getting paid $150 and a bottle of Smirnoff to perform to getting like, $5,000 at some weird charity event. I’d never had 5,000 anything all at once in my hands, ever. All I could think was, I’m going to get a weave and a laptop.”
‘212’ went to number 12 in the UK and went platinum and was lauded by critics.
It ended up featuring in movies including ‘The Heat’, ‘The Bling Ring’, ‘Pitch Perfect’, and more recently, 2022’s ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’, starring Pete Davidson.
Earlier this year, Azealia vowed that the music industry “cannot get rid of [her]”.
Although she hasn’t released an album in almost a decade, Azealia insists she’s not a “has-been”.
The rapper told The Guardian: “What is success in music anymore? Nobody knows, and for the people who do know, it means scheduling your smiles and crafting some weird character.
“I think it’s really unfair that people call Azealia Banks a has-been – you are a never-was, and a never-f******-will-be. You didn’t have the courage to put yourself out there because you were afraid you were going to fail, but I’ve had success.
“You only have to be right one time to be considered successful, and my batting average is very f****** high.”
Azealia feels proud of her new music and she’s also proud that she’s managed to battle against the odds in the industry.
She added: “My music is good as s***! If you can’t get off to your own s***, then you probably should not be making music.
“I’ve done this by myself, with knives in my back, rocks thrown at me, kicked off cliffs. And I still keep coming back – you cannot get rid of me.
“Y’all have all the help in the world, y’all got writers, y’all got producers, y’all got f****** everybody! And you still sound like s***.”
Despite this, Azealia is aware that she’s become an easy target for criticism over the years.
She said: “Even though I know that the internet is not a real place, there are enough people who take it seriously enough to feel like they can put their hands on me in real life.
“They feel like they can launch frivolous lawsuits and use this villainous, stupid narrative against me.”
Azealia released her debut studio album ‘Broke with Expensive Taste’ in 2014.
Her career has been far from plain sailing, with the star being accused of homophobia and racist slurs over the years.
She infamously made such remarks about former One Direction star Zayn Malik on Twitter.
Azealia was later dropped by her UK booking agency and a festival, and her Twitter account was suspended.
And, in January 2021, she courted controversy by posting a video on Instagram of her digging up and cooking her dead pet cat. She later clarified that she did not in fact eat the pussy but exhumed it for taxidermizing purposes.

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish’s upcoming headlining set at Lollapalooza in Chicago will be partially solar-powered.
The 21-year-old star’s set will be powered by intelligent, zero-emission battery systems, in partnership with environmental non-profit Reverb and comes via a temporary onsite solar farm from Overdrive Energy Solutions, Variety reports.
Eco-conscious Billie helped launch and fund the Music Decarbonization Project, in a bid to combat climate change and the solar-powered set is one of the initiatives from it.
A press release stated: “This bold and revolutionary move will be a powerful example of an emerging clean energy solution that can help rapidly reduce the carbon emissions of live music. The goal at Lollapalooza is to further prove clean energy technology’s ability to provide power to large stages and drive the music industry toward a future that is less reliant on highly polluting diesel generators.”
Adam Gardner of Reverb added: “We hope and believe this will be a watershed moment for the music industry. There are real climate solutions available right here, right now. By showcasing this technology with one of the biggest artists in the world, on one of the most revered festival stages, we’re accelerating the necessary transition toward a decarbonized future, for music and beyond.”
Eilish has previously worked with Reverb on her 2022 ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour, while the company has also partnered with Maroon 5 and Harry Styles in the past.

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney is to tour Australia for the first time in six years.
The Beatles legend, 81, will head Down Under in October and November for his ‘Got Back’ tour, and he can’t wait for an “incredibly special” time in Australia once again.
He said: “I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years.
“Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special.
“Australia, we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”
Paul will kick off his Australian shows at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide, on October 18th, before heading to Melbourne and then Newcastle, and rounding off his October dates at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on October 27th.
He will then play Brisbane on November 1st and the Gold Coast’s Heritage Bank Stadium three days later.
Paul previously toured Australia in 2017, and the latest announcement comes a year after he celebrated his 80th birthday with a three-hour headline set at Glastonbury.
Last month, Paul joked that Bruce Springsteen has “ruined it for everyone” because fans now expect three to four-hour gigs.
Speaking on Conan O’Brien’s ‘Needs A Friend’ podcast, he said: “These days, pretty much there’s the main act and there might be a warm-up act.
“Then [the 1960s], it was a lot of people on the bill because nobody did long, now people will do three or four hours. I blame Bruce Springsteen – I’ve told him so, I said, ‘It’s your fault man.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga’s ‘Jazz and Piano: The Las Vegas Residency’ is returning to Sin City later this month.
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker is returning to Nevada to perform songs from the Great American Songbook and reworkings of her hits.
The jazz show will return to Dolby Live at Park MGM on August 31.
The Grammy winner will then play September 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 10, 28 and 30, before returning for three dates on October 1, 4 and 5.
The residency started in January 2019, and featured Gaga’s covers of ‘Luck Be A Lady’, ‘Mambo Italiano’, ‘La Vie En Rose’ and ‘Fly Me To The Moon’, as well as jazz renditions of her hits ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Paparazzi’ and ‘Born This Way’.
After a 21-month long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the residency returned to the theatre on October 14, 2021, and concluded in May 2022.
As well as performing the stripped-back jazz show, Gaga also gave her Little Monsters the choice to see her pop show ‘Lady Gaga Enigma’.
News of the return of ‘Jazz and Piano’ comes after the ‘A Star Is Born’ star paid a touching tribute to late jazz icon Tony Bennett, whom she performed and recorded with a number of times.
The ‘Poker Face’ singer – who made two albums, ‘Cheek to Cheek’ in 2014 and 2021’s ‘Love For Sale’, with Tony, as well as appearing on his 2011 record ‘Duets II’ – has been left heartbroken following his death on 21 July at the age of 96 and reflected on the “magical power” they had when working together.
She wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of them embracing: “With Tony, I got to live my life in a time warp.
“Tony + I had this magical power. We transported ourselves to another era, modernized the music together, and gave it all new life as a singing duo. But it wasnt an act. Our relationship was very real.
“Sure he taught me about music, about showbiz life, but he also showed me how to keep my spirits high and my head screwed on straight. ‘Straight ahead,’ he’d say. He was an optimist, he believed in quality work AND quality life.
“Plus, there was the gratitude…Tony was always grateful. He served in WWII, marched with Martin Luther King Jr., and sang jazz with the greatest singers and players in the world.(sic)”
Tony had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016, which meant Gaga had been able to say a “very long and powerful” goodbye to the veteran entertainer and she insisted the 59-year age gap between them had never mattered.
She continued: “I’ve been grieving the loss of Tony for a long time. We had a very long and powerful goodbye.
“Though there were 5 decades between us, he was my friend. My real true friend. Our age difference didn’t matter– in fact, it gave us each something neither of us had with most people.
“We were from two different stages in life entirely–inspired. Losing Tony to Alzheimer’s has been painful but it was also really beautiful.
“An era of memory loss is such a sacred time in a persons life. There’s such a feeling of vulnerability and a desire to preserve dignity.
“All I wanted was for Tony to remember how much I loved him and how grateful I was to have him in my life.
“But, as that faded slowly I knew deep down he was sharing with me the most vulnerable moment in his life that he could–being willing to sing with me when his nature was changing so deeply. I’ll never forget this experience. I’ll never forget Tony Bennett.(sic)”
The ‘House of Gucci’ actress ended with a message to fans urging them not to “discount your elders”.
She concluded: “If I could say anything to the world about this I would say don’t discount your elders, don’t leave them behind when things change. Don’t flinch when you feel sad, just keep going straight ahead, sadness is part of it.
“Take care of your elders and I promise you will learn something special. Maybe even magical. And pay attention to silence—some of my musical partner and I’s most meaningful exchanges were with no melody at all.
“I love you Tony. Love, Lady (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Hayley Williams revealed the reason Paramore postponed a series of shows was due to her battling a lung infection in response to “internet bros” who criticised the singer for the move.
The ‘This Is Why’ singer received a series of nasty reactions after the emo pop legends postponed four shows on their current US tour due to illness after the 34-year-old frontwoman’s body “just gave out” after she initially tried to battle through.
One user went as far as to call the singer the C word and said if Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, 54, can break his leg onstage and continue to perform, Hayley should be able to carry on.
They tweeted: “b****es about how hard [touring] is at 34 … Dave f****** Grohl, falls off stage, breaks his leg and returns to finish set in wheel chair at 50 odd years of age… she’s a winey hypocrite **** (sic)”
Hayley reacted to the post and proceeded to reveal she had a lung infection that prevented her from being able to sing properly.
She responded: “I have a lung infection you soft s***! Not a broken limb. One you can sing with for 2 hours, another you cant.
“But worry not! The shows weren’t cancelled, merely postponed a week. (sic)”
She then suggested: “Maybe you should come out to one of them… like Dave did.”
Hayley went on to write another post calling out the “internet bros” who pit female artists against their male counterparts.
She moaned: “Internet bros have been pressed by my proximity to rock music and all its subgenres since 2005. The only thing that’s changed is the platform from which they spew their ignorance.
“Don’t think for a second your fav bands – metal or punk or otherwise – endorse your weird incel a** lifestyle.
She added: “So many of these bands have stood side stage at our shows and treat us with respect. Why? bc they aren’t threatened by a strong woman front[ing] a great band in a completely diff genre of music.
“Crying from laughing at myself I love when I have so so so much time. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bebe Rexha “stares” with pride at her Official UK Charts Number 1 Single award every day when she wakes up.
The ‘I Got You’ hitmaker landed her first UK No1 with ‘I’m Good (Blue)’, her 2022 dance anthem with David Guetta, and she keeps the trophy in her bedroom, so she’s reminded every morning of the achievement.
Bebe also revealed she’s just worked with Ella Henderson and dreams of duetting with ‘Padam Padam’ hitmaker Kylie Minogue one day.
She told OfficialCharts.com: “Yes! I have my Number 1 Single Award in my bedroom. It’s the only award in my bedroom right now, I stare at it when I wake up. I’d always wanted a UK Number 1, because I’m such a big fan of the UK music scene. Everything in the UK feels much more experimental; the sounds always manage to make it to the US eventually. I love the drum ‘n’ bass, it’s so fresh.
“I just worked with Ella Henderson the other day, she’s phenomenal. I’d love to do a song with Kylie Minogue, too. That’d be a moment.”
Bebe admitted she still feels like an “underdog”, despite a decade in the music business.
She added: “It’s been 10 years, which feels like forever. A lot of people put a song out and see massive success with it, but I feel like the underdog that’s been consistently delivering. I’m just glad that I get to do what I love, and I’m still so excited for this summer of shows.”
Bebe recently duetted with Dolly Parton on their collaboration ‘Seasons’, and while she was “nervous”, she was in awe of the country music legend, 77, who arrived in “six-inch heels” and was “so happy, perky and ready to go”.
She said of the ‘Jolene’ hitmaker, “I’ve always looked up to her. Not only is she an incredible artist, but she’s a boss b****! She owns a lot of business and wrote one of my favourite songs of all time; ‘I Will Always Love You’.
“Working with her was awesome, she’s so funny. She had six-inch heels on and was so happy, perky and ready to go. Such great energy. I grew up listening to Dolly; my grandmother would play her music all the time. I was so nervous, but it was so fun. She said she’d adopt me – I’m waiting for the papers.”
