OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt is finally set to release his song about the late ‘Star Wars’ legend Carrie Fisher.
The 49-year-old singer was close friends with the Hollywood icon – who passed away in 2016 aged 60 – and even stayed with her whilst he was in Los Angeles to record his albums and she is godfather to his son.
And the ‘Goodbye My Lover’ hitmaker has waited “a few years” to pen the emotional song ‘Dark Thought’, which is about the time he went to knock on the Princess Leia actress’ gate after she died.
The song is featured on James’ upcoming album, ‘Who We Used To Be’, and he’s promised that while there are some sad songs, there are some more up-tempo “sweet ones” as well.
Speaking to Music Week, he said: ‘Dark Thought’ is the song I always wanted to write for Carrie Fisher, but never got round to writing for her while she was alive. That’s taken me a few years to write. It was about the moment I went back to her house after she had died and knocked on the gate. The ‘Girl That Never Was’ will speak for itself, it’s a very sad song. But then there are some really sweet ones.”
The ‘Bonfire Heart’ singer also divulged that after releasing his biggest-selling single ‘You’re Beautiful’, he’s “not supposed to” use beautiful in his lyrics, but he made an exception for the track ‘Some Kind Of Beautiful’.
He added: “I’m not supposed to use the word beautiful in any song, but track two is called ‘Some Kind Of Beautiful’ and it’s about someone I’ve lived with and loved and the excitement I still feel for them. No matter how many years go by, that excitement is only greater. There, I found a positive one for you!”
James previously shared the moving story about touching her gate and bursting into tears.
During an appearance on ‘People Now,’ he recalled: “I had an amazing moment going back to Los Angeles last time to do this album, and I was staying in a hotel because obviously I’m homeless now, I can’t stay with her. And I thought ‘You know what, I’ll drive back. I’ll drive to the house.’ And then I had an internal conversation: ‘That would be weird’, ‘No come on, I’m driving to the house’.
“So I drove up to her gate, and I put my hand on her gate and I immediately started crying. I was say ‘Oh god Carrie, I miss you so much.’ And as I did that, three StarMap vans, who drive tourists to various celebrity’s houses pulled up beside.
“And I heard on the intercom, ‘And on your left, you’ll see the late great Carrie Fisher’s house, and you’ll see some fans are still deeply moved by her passing’. I was that fan. I think she would have enjoyed the irony.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher has referred to his rival brother Liam Gallagher as the “tambourine player” in Oasis.
The siblings have been at war ever since the legendary Britpop group parted ways following a backstage bust-up between guitarist Noel, 56, and frontman Liam, 50, at their final concert in Paris in 2009.
Noel was discussing the fact he never gets “nervous” before a show” when he said, “loose cannon” Liam – who still uses a tambourine and maracas during his solo sets – would make the shows unpredictable whilst belittling his role in the ‘Little by Little’ band.
Asked on Radio X if he has had stage fright, Noel replied: “Never, and it really f****** annoys people as well.
“Towards the end of Oasis, you were always stepping into the unknown because the tambourine player was a bit of a loose cannon and it was like, ‘Well is this gig gonna finish?’
“Now you put a band together and all the people around you, you know, it’s cool. I don’t get nervous at all.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ songwriter also mocked groups who huddle-up as a pre-show ritual.
He said: “Even in the early days with Oasis, we used to see bands at festivals go into a huddle before the gig and we’d be like, ‘What do you think they’re f****** saying to each other?’
“‘Right lads, you go to keep tight at the back, make sure you go forward as a unit, defend as a unit, give it your best, play to the whistle?’ I mean, what are you f****** saying? I’ve seen thousands of bands do it, I wouldn’t know what to say.”
Meanwhile, Damon Albarn recently said he’s convinced Oasis are on the verge of a huge comeback with reunion shows and a new album.
The Blur frontman previously joked he’d “put money” on his former Britpop rivals getting back together, and now he’s insisted the “road is clear” for warring siblings Liam and Noel to put their bad blood behind them and bring the band back for a massive money-spinning comeback.
Damon told Consequence: “Well, of course they were gonna [reunite]. The road is clear for them to do that now. I think that’s great. You know what I mean? Obviously I expect an excellent new record to accompany it.”
It comes after Damon previously told The Sun newspaper: “I can guarantee they’re going to reform. In fact, I’ve put money on it.”
Damon and his Blur bandmates have reunited every few years and have been back on tour over the summer.
Liam regularly says he’s in favour of getting the band back on the road and blamed Noel for refusing.
However, Noel recently insisted it’s up to his brother to make peace – even calling him a “coward” and insisting he’ll never make the call to reunite Oasis.
Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Noel explained: “Well, I put it out there. [Liam] won’t call … I mean, he should call me, because he’s like, he’s forever going on about it. You’d have thought by now, he’d have some kind of plan.
“He doesn’t have to speak to me. He won’t speak to me, he’s a coward. So he should get some of his people, his agent, to call my people and say: ‘Look, this is what we’re thinking.’ And then we’ll have a conversation about it. Until then, he’s being a little bit disingenuous.”
However, Liam later responded to Noel’s comments in a post on Twitter, ranting: “He’s full of s*** he HATES Oasis fans [but] doesn’t mind them buying his records.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Renee Rapp says she only signed up for the ‘Mean Girls’ musical to help her pop career.
The 23-year-old singer and actress – who recently quit ‘The Sex Lives of College Girls’ to focus on her music – admitted she told ‘Mean Girls’ producers Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels that she would sign on to the show if they promised to help her advance with her music.
She told The Cut: “I was like, I know you m************ do SNL. So I will do it if you agree to help my music career for the rest of my life,. And they have. It was just always as a means to make this happen. It took a minute.”
Rapp also revealed she became disheartened by her own team, who wanted her to focus on acting.
She said: “That’s what benefits them, or whatever. But for me, it wasn’t like a lack of support. It became this thing where I was like, You are just being so mean to me. You’re sending me mean texts about how you’ve done everything for me and I need to respect you more.”
And, she insisted the only thing she cares about is her music.
She said: “It’s not that I don’t care. I don’t even give a f*** how I acted in that f****** episode of that show or that movie or whatever. It’s going to be what it will f****** be. Like when ‘Mean Girls’ comes out, it will be what it f****** is.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish dedicated her performance of ‘Never Felt So Alone’ to Angus Cloud at Lollapalooza.
Just days after Cloud passed away at his home in Oakland at the age of 25, Billie took to the stage at Lollapalooza, Chicago, where she performed the popular track from Cloud’s TV show ‘Euphoria’.
After finishing the song, Billie said: “RIP to Angus Cloud, everybody”.
21-year-old Billie’s performance came after Cloud’s co-star Dominic Fike also paid tribute to the late actor during a show at Houston’s 713 Music Hall.
The musician and actor said: “I guess I lost a friend of mine recently. He died the other night, which is wild to say because I don’t deal with grief often. I haven’t had a lot of death happen around me, and this was the first time I feel like I knew the person well enough to cry over and feel something. It was weird.
“I was on my way to get a massage, which sounds so f****** stupid, at the time, and I got this call. And it f***** me up, obviously. I still got the massage. I felt really stupid. He probably would’ve been like, ‘Yeah, go ahead,’ you know? Even this tonight, I was sitting in the green room, and it felt… You know when things just feel trivial? You feel really small, and the timeline gets sort of stretched out.
“I sometimes look at people like sparks. I zoom out, and I think people have wavelengths. If you zoom out far enough, you see some people — probably not a lot of us at all — but I think if you zoomed out millions of miles, you would see this kid’s spark. You could see it from so far away, even if it was a short flash. He would light up a room, any room he walked in. He’s a f****** good dude. I felt stupid coming out here. Like, this is so stupid, doing a show and being happy. But he would’ve wanted me to do that. He would’ve been like, ‘No, do the show, have fun’.”

OHMYGOSSIP — The Kinks’ John Gosling has died at the age of 75.
The rock band have taken to social media to announce the passing of the keyboard player, who joined the group in 1970.
The band said on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of John Gosling. We are sending our condolences to John’s wife and family.”
Gosling’s former bandmates have also paid glowing tributes to the musician.
Ray Davies – the band’s lead vocalist – said: “Condolences to his wife Theresa and family. Rest in Peace dearest John. (sic)”
Dave Davies has admitted to having a “deep affection” for his former bandmate.
He said: “I’m dismayed deeply upset by John Gosling’s passing. He has been a friend and important contributor to the Kinks music during his time with us. Deepest sympathies to his wife and family. I will hold deep affection and love for him in my heart always. Great musician and a great man.”
Meanwhile, Mick Avory has hailed Gosling as a “great musician” and revealed that he also had a “fantastic sense of humour”.
The 79-year-old drummer said on Instagram: “Today we lost a dear friend and colleague, he was a great musician and had a fantastic sense of humour… which made him popular member of the band, he leaves us with some happy memories. God Bless him…. (sic)”
Gosling left The Kinks in 1977 and in 1994, he became a founding member of the band The Kast Off Kinks, which also included Avory, Jim Rodford, John Dalton and Dave Clarke.
The keyboard player stayed in the band until he retired in 2008.

OHMYGOSSIP — A replica of Kanye West’s childhood home is up for sale.
The ‘Bound 2’ hitmaker stood in front of the model during a listening party for his still-unreleased ‘Donda 2’ album in Miami, Florida, in February 2022, and fans can bid to take home the “900 sq. ft modular house” when The Levy Recovery Group auction starts on 2 October.
It is unclear if the replica house is the same one used in three other listening parties staged by the rapper in Chicago and Atlanta in 2021 for his first ‘Donda’ record.
Levy President Jason Levy told TMZ they had been hired by a production company to sell the house, which is currently broken down into pieces in a Chicago warehouse, but the winning bidder can have it reassembled for a fee.
A listing for the sale states: “Own Kayne West’s replica of his childhood home that was used in his 2022 Donda 2 listening parties! Pre-Auction offers are being considered..
“Replica of his childhood home that was on display at his listening parties
“900 sq. ft. modular house.
“Includes both crosses from the tour.”
The ‘Donda 2’ listening party saw fans take a seat in a pitch-black stadium, with the only light coming from the replica of Kanye’s childhood Chicago home, which was burning and surrounded by water.
The event caused controversy over the ‘All Day’ rapper’s decision to bring out controversial rocker Marilyn Manson, who had appeared on the ‘Donda’ album.
Other guests to make an appearance included The Game, Alicia Keys, Migos, Jack Harlow and Da Baby.
While ‘Donda 2’ was never officially released, ‘Donda’ broke Olivia Rodrigo’s Spotify record for the most-streamed album in 24 hours when it was brought out in August 2021.
And on Apple Music, the record topped their chart in 152 countries, and all but eight songs made the top 20 on Apple Music’s Daily Top 100 Global songs chart within two days of release.
However, Kanye released a brief statement accusing his record label of making his 10th studio album available without his approval, as well as blocking him from releasing ‘Jail, Pt. 2’, which features controversial rapper DaBaby and scandal-hit Manson, who has been accused of abuse by a number of women, including his ex-fiancee Evan Rachel Wood.
In the typed-out message, Kanye told his 7.8 million Instagram followers: “UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy is set to collaborate with Calvin Harris.
The ‘Vossi Bop’ hitmaker hit it off with the DJ when he saw him behind the decks at Ibiza’s Ushuaia when he jetted to the party island with friends last month as part of his 30th birthday celebrations, and now they’re planning to get into the recording studio together.
A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “Stormzy’s admired Calvin for a long time. Both are huge fans of the dance capital, with Stormzy previously holding his #MerkyFestival at Ibiza Rocks. Stormzy’s been surprising everyone by dropping songs on almost a weekly basis.
“But so far, he hasn’t made it to the top spot with his collaborators. Ibiza is the perfect setting to let their creative juices come together. They’ll work on a project next time he’s there.”
The news comes a few weeks after Stormzy’s producer, PRGRSHN, recently teased the follow-up to his November album ”This Is What I Mean’, will be released “sooner rather than later.
He was quoted by the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column as saying: “We’re always trying to stay creative and make new music.
“You might see him sooner rather than later, I’m not sure.”
The producer admitted Stormzy needs to be “inspired” to create.
He added: “Ultimately he’s an artist that has to be inspired so once he’s inspired there will be new music for sure.”
It was claimed earlier this year Stormzy is “at the strongest and most creative” he has ever been.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Stormzy isn’t resting on his laurels and has been writing and recording new songs already.
“Artistically he seems to be the strongest and most creative he has ever been.
“Stormzy has been doing some stuff at Qube studios in London.
“He registered a new track on a songwriting database earlier this month.
“The track is called ‘Fire’ and it’s been pegged as a potential hit.”
And, it is believed that Stormzy could release another album this year.
The insider added: “Those around Stormzy think the song could spawn another album.
“It is really empowering and moving – and is very much in the vein of ‘This Is What I Mean’.
“His label is really excited about what they are hearing and no one should be surprised if Stormzy strikes while the iron is hot and releases new music this year.

OHMYGOSSIP — Delta Goodrem’s new album is inspired by the late Tina Turner, Backstreet Boys, and her late friend Olivia Newton-John.
The ‘Born to Try’ hitmaker returned earlier this week with the new single ‘Back To Your Heart’, which comes ahead of her debut UK headline tour this month through September.
The ’80s-inspired single is the first taste of the forthcoming eighth studio album, and she has revealed some of the artists she was inspired by, including the late ‘Proud Mary’ hitmaker, the US boy band – who she toured with on their 2022 North American – and her dear friend, ‘Grease’ legend Olivia.
Speaking about 2021’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Dreams’ in a cover interview with RETROPOP magazine, she said: “That last album was so intense and heavy; it was me at the piano asking, ‘Where do we come from? How did I get here? What do I need to do to heal and work through?’… It was a real deep dive.
“But when the borders opened up and we could go back to travelling, I toured with the Backstreet Boys and I was surrounded by so much fun, which gave me a sense of freedom in what I wanted to do now!”
On her shimmering new 80s-tinged single ‘Back To Your Heart’, she continued: “It was like, ‘This is my lane, let’s lean into that.’
“My shows are about empowering everybody in the room and having that unity that comes from being together, which is what made me want to write this particular album.”
On Tina’s influence, Delta – who battled cancer like her idol – said: “She went through so much then at 40 years old moved into this amazing new chapter and started playing stadiums. It was insane!
“I feel like this is my Tina Turner era.”
The 38-year-old Australian star is feeling “fired up and ready for a new chapter”.
She said: “There’s all these different sidelines that I have going on at the moment, but after waiting so long it’s really important for me to get out there and do it now.
“There’s not one singular trajectory and I’m proud of my story; to have continued to do what I love to do throughout all these years and have No. 1 albums consistently, but I still feel like I’m fired up and ready for a new chapter and a new era.
“You know, everyone’s journey is different and it really is an individual thing, but this era right now feels really good and I’m looking forward to seeing where the music takes me!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessie Ware has hinted at collaborating with Kylie Minogue again, and revealed Cher and Barbra Streisand are on her duets bucket list.
The ‘Spotlight’ singer, 38, has just been nominated for the second time for the Mercury Prize – having received the nod for 2012’s ‘Devotion’ – for her 2023 disco album ‘That! Feels Good!’, and while discussing the honour, Jessie revealed some of her other idols that she’d like to work with.
Jessie and Kylie, 55, have collaborated twice before on 2021 hit ‘Kiss of Life’ and the pop princess also appears on the title track on ‘That! Feels Good!’.
Speaking to NME, she said: “Yeah, I reckon. I’m really enjoying the fact I’m with Róisín Murphy at the moment and have a record [‘Freak Me Now’] out with her.
“I’m just working with my icons and that’s an amazing thing to be able to say that I’m doing. Kylie one year, Róisín Murphy the next, Cher maybe next year? Barbra Streisand? I don’t know!”
Jessie – who is up against the likes of Arctic Monkeys, RAYE, Shygirl and Fred Again to be crowned Album of the Year at the prestigious FREENOW-sponsored music ceremony on September 7 – previously revealed ‘Spinning Around’ hitmaker Kylie has become a “mentor” to her.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: “She talks on it, and I managed to get a lot of my friends who I’d had on my podcast, and Kylie – ever the pro – did me a very sexy voice note.

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica got charged hundreds of thousands of pounds for cushions destroyed by fans at Long Beach Arena.
Drummer Lars Ulrich has revealed gig-goers used the pillows as frisbees and they’d have to fork out $300,000 to pay for the cost of replacing them.
Speaking on Conan O’Brien’s ‘Needs A Friend’ podcast, he recalled: “What are there 16,000 seats in there? We’ve paid for about 15,000 of those 16,000 seats over the years because every time we were playing Long Beach Arena, people would just take the cushion, you know, play frisbee with it inside the arena.
“The next day [the venue staff] would be like, ‘Okay, Metallica, here’s those $300,000 worth of cushions that you have to pay for.'”
The 59-year-old revealed they had to put out a warning to fans on a local radio show to tell them not to destroy the venue’s property because the ‘Enter Sandman’ rockers are the ones who pay the price, not “authority” or “the man”.
He went on: “We had to go on KNAC [radio station] multiple times and go ‘Listen, whatever. You know, you’re our fans, and we’re your fans and we’re all in this together. We want you to have a good time and we support that. But understand one thing, if you think you’re rebelling against the building or rebelling against authority or rebelling against the man or whatever the f*** it is, do you think you’re rebellious? The only people you’re really rebelling against is Metallica.”
The James Hetfield-fronted heavy metal group once had a scary incident happen at The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (LA Coliseum) where 40,000 folding chairs were precariously thrown onstage, forcing them to stop the gig.
Recalling the show at the iconic venue, he added: “At that time, things were maybe slightly more unpredictable about the physical elements of the makeup of the shows, and in front of the stage the whole lawn, the football field at the LA Coliseum was [made up of] all folding chairs.
“I don’t know if any of you would like to guess where 40,000 folding chairs ended up three songs into the set. Yeah. That’s right. All those – whatever there was – 30, 40,000 folding chairs ended up on stage. And so we had to stop the show.”
Throwing items onstage has become a concerning trend lately, with the likes of Bebe Rexha, Harry Styles and Ava Max having random items pelted at them.

OHMYGOSSIP — André Rieu is waiting for a call from Bruce Springsteen to ask to share a stage with him.
The Dutch music maestro, 73, has performed with the likes of The Village People, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and The Hoff himself David Hasselhoff.
However, his dream is to perform The Boss’ classics ‘Born In The USA’ and ‘Dancing In The Dark’ in his hometown of Maastricht in the Netherlands.
In a Q+A, he said: “There’s only one more guest I’ve been a fan of myself for many, many years now … Bruce Springsteen! We are about the same age, but this man’s energy is fabulous! Have you ever seen him on stage while playing his guitar? My oh my, that’s pure gold! It would be a dream come true when he would give me a call and say: ‘Hey André, let’s share the stage in Maastricht!’ Together, we would perform his classics ‘Born In The USA’ and ‘Dancing In The Dark’… can’t wait!”
The conductor-and-violinist already has fond memories of performing countless times in his breathtaking hometown.
Each year, tens of thousands of people from around the world make the pilgrimage to see the King of Waltz perform his summer concert series in Maastricht with the star making the Vrijthof Square his home for two weeks with his Johann Strauss Orchestra.
This year, his musical concert celebrating romance, ‘Love Is All Around’, will be exclusively shown in more than 500 UK cinemas for one weekend only so people across the nation can immerse themselves in the cinematic experience.
On the joy his Maastricht concerts give him, André said: “In 2019 I received a bronze plague for my 100th concert from the Mayor of Maastricht, which can now be seen on the square.
“That was very emotional and made me very proud. During the same summer we welcomed our Millionth visitor to our summer concerts.
“The simple fact that people from all over the world travel to my hometown to attend my concerts there moves me every year. “When I’m standing in front of the theatre and I see all these happy and loyal fans in front of me, I’m perfectly aware of the choice for the correct job. This home game is a feast for everybody: we give about 100 concerts per year, and these series on the Vrijthof feel like coming home. And when my special guest arrives during the encores, the audience is getting even more ‘crazy’ than before – that’s also a joyous moment!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Josh Homme says it’s “a little c****” when bands refuse to play their most popular songs live.
The Queens Of The Stone Age frontman hates when musicians act as if the songs that made their careers are a burden and he believes they owe it to the fans to play the classics as well as new material.
Speaking to the ‘Tuna on Toast With Stryker’ podcast, he said: “I understand that I’m always going to play ‘No One Knows’ because I still like playing that song and that’s something that it’s an agreement with the audience. I assume that this is a part of coming here to see us, and here you go.
“When there’s bands that don’t want to play their big song or their big songs, I always think it’s a little c**** to do that. Acting like a song that a lot of people like is a burden is just a strange reaction to the gift that your fans have given you. Seems like an odd reaction.”
Homme believes part of the reason for not playing the hits is because some bands struggle with their success.
He explained: “In the years of doing this, I’ve seen a lot of artists… sort of get angry at their own music for doing well. Having fans is a cool thing. And they want stuff. And when it comes to playing the stuff that they want, I feel like that’s why this is happening, right?”
“You guys are all here because you want to hear some stuff and also have no idea what’s going to happen. And you need to have that basic food group in order for me to surprise you, too. Surprise requires knowing some constants are going to happen. So I don’t sweat stuff like that.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher admits he’s not “interested” in being a performer like his pal Bono and Chris Martin.
The former Oasis frontman, 56, is all about singing and playing guitar at his High Flying Birds gigs – and that’s it.
Whilst the U2 and Coldplay frontmen are known for their flamboyant shows.
He told Radio X: “Some people are cut out for that kind of thing. Chris Martin for example, can do that thing with the crowd. Bono can do that thing with the crowd. I can’t. I’m not interested in it.”
The Britpop legend insists his huge hits, including ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’, speak for themselves and don’t require anything else to leave his fans in awe.
He said: “That song’s bigger than me. That song will be around long after I’m gone. So those big songs like that and ‘Wonderwall’… I don’t feel like I have to be larger than life.
“I mean people are here to see me. They know who I am. They know what I’m like. And that’s what you pay for and that’s what you get.”
Noel similarly recently admitted he’s “not really comfortable” playing massive arena shows because he’s not a “larger-than-life” perofrmer like his former Oasis bandmate and arch-rival sibling Liam Gallagher.
The ‘Pretty Boy’ hitmaker prefers more intimate concerts for his solo shows.
Speaking to the same radio station, he said: “I think I prefer doing my own shows but festivals are great, because I don’t tend to headline them, Glastonbury’s for instance was great because I got to go on before McCartney… but I don’t really have much of a preference. If I could go on tour and just do theatres all over the world that would be great, in England I do big arenas which I’m still not really comfortable about…”
Asked why that is, he replied: “I think you need a singer for that kind of thing who’s a bit larger than life, I’m a bit like, ‘Look I’ve got these songs and that’s it.’ I don’t tend to do the audience participation things. Whereas when you do theatres, you’re a bit closer to the crowd, and if they start heckling you and asking ridiculous questions you can just go, ‘What was that?'”
The guitarist also quipped that Oasis’ lesser-known tunes don’t go down as well with US audiences as the hits.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rick Springfield works out “every day” and follows a pescatarian diet to maintain his “sex symbol” status at 73.
The sex-obsessed ‘Jessie’s Girl’ singer tried going vegan but admitted it made him look like “hell”, so he decided to add fish back into his diet, and he insists he’s never looked better.
Asked what the secret to staying “sexy” in his seventies is, the musician, who often performs topless, told the new issue of PEOPLE magazine: “I work out every day.
“I just got a trainer, and I’ve been working out with him. Basically, I watch what I eat, and I try and stay active.”
On ditching veganism, he added: “I tried being a vegan, and it made me feel great, but I looked like hell.
“A friend of mine came up to me and said, ‘Are you OK?’ I got so thin. So I had to put fish back in [for protein].”
Rick’s upcoming album, ‘Automatic’, his first in five years, is all about “sex, God and death”.
He told USA Today about the song ‘Come Said the Girl’: “That one is all about sex, obviously. This album is about my three favourite things – God, sex and death. That’s basically what I’ve written about the last 10 years. I’m still searching for God, interested in sex and curious about death.”
The former Zoot guitarist – who has been married to the mother of his two children, Barbara Porter, since 1984 – often has fans throw their undergarments at him on stage but he’s rather have than the beer cans that were pelted at him in his native Australia.
He previously told E! News: “We used to have a huge collection of bras and underwear but I grew up in Australia playing the pubs, so I’ve had beer cans, full beer cans, thrown at me. There were no bouncers or anything in the late 60s or 1970s. So you had a mic stand or a guitar to protect you!”

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift-mania is hitting Los Angeles as the pop superstar prepares to perform a record-setting series of concerts at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium.
The ‘August’ hitmaker’s ‘Eras Tour’ comes to Inglewood on Thursday (03.08.23) for six nights, with further shows on August 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9, which is the most times an artist has performed at the venue, and the city is going all out to celebrate.
The Grammy Museum in Downtown Los Angeles has opened its own exhibit with 11 costumes and two instruments on display from the ‘Style’ hitmaker’s ‘Speak Now’ era.
It’s inspired by the promo for ‘I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)’, featuring Joey King and her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner.
Jasen Emmons, Chief Curator and Vice President of Curatorial Affairs at the landmark, commented: “We’re thrilled to honour this achievement by creating an immersive space for her fans and our community to continue celebrating her all month long.”
As well as items designed by the likes of Valentino, Reem Acra and Jenny Packham, the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer’s instruments, such as her sparkly red Gibson Les Paul and a Deering banjo, will be on display until September 18.
Swifties can also attend a themed Soul Cycle session, attend a ‘Cruel Summer’ beach party, and even purchase Sweet Lady Jane’s ‘Taylor’s Version’ Cupcakes.
The Grammy winner setting a record in LA comes after Taylor allegedly caused record-breaking seismic activity in Seattle.
The musician is said to have caused a 2.3 magnitude earthquake with her Seattle shows last month, according to a seismologist.
Taylor played to 144,000 over two nights at the city’s Lumen Field on July 22 and 23.
And Jackie Caplan-Auerbach believes the noise from fans and the sound system caused the biggest earthquake since 2011’s “Beast Quake”.
The latter was caused by the crowd’s piercing reaction to Marshawn Lynch’s touchdown for the Seattle Seahawks during their match against the New Orleans Saints.
The geology professor at Western Washington University explained how the “shaking was twice as strong”.
She told CNN: “I grabbed the data from both nights of the concert and quickly noticed they were clearly the same pattern of signals.
“If I overlay them on top of each other, they’re nearly identical.”
Taylor had said of the sold-out shows: “Seattle that was genuinely one of my favourite weekends ever. Thank you for everything. All the cheering, screaming, jumping, dancing, singing at the top of your lungs.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted’s Matt Willis could pay off his mortgage thanks to royalties from the Jonas Brothers’ cover of ‘Year 3000’.
The 40-year-old bassist – who is married to TV star Emma Willis – couldn’t believe it when he received a much larger royalties’ cheque than usually and was surprised to find out it was from the US pop trio’s clean 2006 rendition.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column, he said: “I got a message from my publishers because me and James [Bourne, bandmate] wrote that song, and so I got a message saying, ‘There’s this Disney band that want to cover ‘Year 3000’, and I was like, ‘Cool’ – you know Busted wasn’t happening so I was like yeah, great.
“Then I kind of forgot about it until I got a royalty cheque, and royalties cheques are always a certain amount per quarter, so I got this royalty cheque and it was like 20x what a normal royalty cheque was and I was like, ‘What the f*** has happened?’
“Then that song just paid my mortgage for f****** years because of the Jonas Brothers.”
The ‘Camp Rock’ stars – Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas – made the 2003 hit less crude by swapping the line, “Triple-breasted women swim around town, totally naked” to “girls there, with round hair like Star Wars, float above the floor.”
They also swapped “Everybody bought our seventh album, it had outsold Michael Jackson” to “it had outsold Kelly Clarkson”.
The groups have come full-circle, as they teamed up on a new rendition of the pop-punk hit for Busted’s ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ album.
Matt – who is also joined by Charlie Simpson in the noughties band – said: “We sent them the track and they just sung over it and they just sounded f****** amazing.”
