OHMYGOSSIP — Lana Del Rey recorded some “beautiful” songs with Jon Batiste that he hopes will see the light of day.
The 36-year-old musician appears on ‘Candy Necklace’ and the ‘Jon Batiste Interlude’ on the ‘Video Games’ hitmaker’s latest LP ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd’, while Lana, 38, returned the favour and is featured on his song ‘Life Lesson’ on his new record ‘World Music Radio’, which is out on Friday (18.08.23).
Asked how they came to work together, Jon told NME: “We had a great first meeting after our mutual friend and musical collaborator Zach Dawes introduced us because he thought we would have a great creative spark. We met and it just turned into a beautiful collaboration.
“I met Rick Rubin in Italy, and he suggested I go to Shangri-La [Rubin’s studio in Malibu, California]. I told him I was inspired to create a new album and I was creating with all types of different musicians and producers and in that creative spur, I had a lot of things that I was recording with Lana, and I recorded a lot of things with Lana that no one has even heard yet. But two of those things ended up on her last album [2023’s ‘Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd’] and ‘Life Lesson’ on my album is like the palate cleanser after the credits roll in the movie. It’s a spiritual relative of the album sessions.”
Asked if we will ever hear the other tunes they recorded together, he said: “It’s some incredible, really great, beautiful stuff we’ve made together. We’ve talked about doing something together. But this music, I mean, hopefully, at the right time, I don’t want to say too much, but I hope one day I have more to say about what will happen with it [laughs].”
Elsewhere, Jon spoke about performing with late music legend Prince and how the ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker has inspired him.
He recalled: “Oh it was so real [laughs]. I was literally in my dorm room in the year before meeting Prince and I was studying recordings. I was trying to dissect his album, ‘Dirty Mind’. I made a few songs inspired by that album and his approach to [making music], his own Prince style. The next year, I get the call. Prince had heard our band playing in a club: he’d been at the show the whole time – I didn’t know he was even in the audience! He said he wanted to take the band to do a collaboration on one of his tours and we ended up doing that. The first time I ever performed in a stadium aged 19 was with Prince and seeing how he curated his show, how he presented his music and just being around that was really inspiring.”
Sharing the advice he got from the ‘Raspberry Beret’ singer, Jon said during a recent appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’: “I was a kid. I was about 19 or 20, so I wasn’t having a dialogue with Prince. I was with Prince, but it wasn’t like we were having a conversation. But whenever we did speak, I tried to get some nuggets of wisdom out of him. And he said, ‘Privacy,’ and I remember that because he was talking about more than just music.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Springsteen has postponed two shows due to illness.
The legendary musician had been due to perform at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park on August 16 and 18, but shortly before Wednesday’s (16.08.23) gig it was announced he and the E Street Band wouldn’t be taking to the stage as planned.
In a statement on Bruce’s X page, his team said: “Due to Bruce Springsteen having been taken ill, his concerts with The E Street Band at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 have been postponed.
“We are working on rescheduling the dates so please hold on to your tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows.”
The tour kicked off in February, although it was initially announced in 2020 to support his ‘Letter To You’ album before being delayed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It finally got underway earlier this year for a 28-date run across the United States, before a 31-show European leg.
The 73-year-old star returned to the US with a show in Chicago on August 9, while the latest axed gigs mark the second time he’s had to postpone shows on the tour.
In March, the ‘Dancing In the Dark’ hitmaker was forced to rescheduled three shows due to an unspecified illness.
At the time, E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt wrote on Twitter: “No need to be anxious or afraid. Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon.”
Meanwhile, the following month Bruce was struck down with COVID-19 and had to pull out of plans to attend the American Music Honors awards show at the Pollak Theatre on the campus of Monmouth University in New Jersey.
He had been due to attend the ceremony – which raised funds for the university’s Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music – alongside his wife Patti Scialfa but had to appear via video message instead after they both fell ill.
Bob Santelli, the Archives’ executive director, broke the news to the audience at the show, telling them: “It broke our hearts around 6 a.m. this morning when I got a call that two of the most important people who were supposed to be here, Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, unfortunately came down with COVID.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B’s second album is “almost ready” and is set to be released “soon”.
The 30-year-old rapper is gearing up to dropping a follow up to her 2018 debut studio album ‘Invasion of Privacy’, and she is expected to release the lead single from the record this September.
Cardi is also said to have “pulled out all the stops” with the music video for her upcoming song.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “It’s been a long time coming but Cardi is finally ready to kick off her new era.
“She has pulled out all the stops with the video, money wasn’t an object.
“Cardi has made sure it has been well worth the wait. The album is almost ready and will be out soon.”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker is no stranger to working with her husband, 31-year-old rapper Offset.
But Offset recently insisted he and Cardi don’t release collaborations often because they are “very” critical of each other.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning America’, he said: “Me and her got great energy.
“We don’t really put a lot of records out because we’re very hard on each other about the records.”
The ‘Clout’ rapper is just as critical of his own music as he is of his ‘WAP’ hitmaker spouse’s.
Asked about his upcoming second solo album – the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Father of 4’ – he said: “I didn’t rush it. I love y’all, but I didn’t rush it because I want it to be perfect.”
Earlier this year, Offset admitted he needed to “master who I was” before releasing his next record.
The music star was a member of the popular trap trio Migos until he parted ways with the group early last year, with Quavo, 32, and the late Takeoff continuing as a two-piece until the tragic death of the latter, who was shot dead in Houston, Texas on November 1, 2022, aged 28.

OHMYGOSSIP — George Benson is set to play two nights at London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall as part of a string of dates in the UK next summer.
The 80-year-old soul legend will kick off the run at Bournemouth International Centre on June 26, before playing two consecutive nights at the RAH on June 28 and 29.
He’ll then head to Scotland to play Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on July 1, and wrap up the five-date tour at Leeds First Direct Arena.
The guitar legend will be supported by 55-year-old Tony-nominated Broadway star Melissa Errico.
As well as classics including, ‘Give Me The Night’, ‘Lady Love Me (One More Time)’, ‘Turn Your Love Around’, ‘Inside Love’, ‘Never Give Up On A Good Thing’, and ‘In Your Eyes’, fans can expect to hear some new tunes.
Benson teased: “I can’t wait to return to the UK and share my music with my incredible fans. See you all soon!”
His most recent album was ‘Weekend In London’, a live LP of his 2019 performance at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
That same year, he also released ‘Walking to New Orleans’ in tribute to Chuck Berry and Fats Domino.
He said at the time: ″I’m a great appreciator of the music made by both of those guys.
″Chuck Berry was a great showman and a great musician, and Fats Domino cut nothing but hit after hit after hit.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Megan Thee Stallion gave her “haters” the middle finger at Outside Lands festival.
The ‘Hot Girl Summer’ rapper took a moment during her set at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Sunday (13.08.23) to tell her critics nothing they can do can get her down.
She told the crowd: “I just wanna say… F*** all my haters! None of that s*** you was doing or saying broke me.”
Her comment came days after Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for shooting Megan.
The 31-year-old rapper was convicted of first-degree assault, discharge of a firearm with gross negligence and having a concealed and unregistered firearm in a vehicle in relation to the 2020 incident, but he has insisted he was “wrongly” found guilty and maintained he is innocent.
In a statement shared to his Instagram account, Tory – whose real name is Daystar Peterson – wrote: “I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never never let no jail time eliminate me.
“Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.
“This week in court, I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved… That’s it.
“In no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of. I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something that I did not do. (sic)”
The ‘Say It’ hitmaker is determined to keep “fighting” to clear his name and is convinced he’ll be released from prison eventually.
He added: “I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came out on top. This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till come out victorious.
“Tough times don’t last, tough people do.
“To my family, friends and umbrellas, thank you for your continued support. See you soon.”
He captioned the post: “Through Good Times and Bad Times … Stay Strong … I’ll See You All Soon.”
In court this week, Tory described the ‘WAP’ hitmaker as “someone I still care for dearly to this day” and urged the judge to give him a “chance”.
He said: “We both lost our mothers. We would sit there and drink, and drink until we got numb.
“As a celebrity I’ve made mistakes but your honour, I’m not standing in front of you as a celebrity but as someone asking for a chance.
“A common misconception is that I have no remorse, which is not true. Everything I did wrong that night I take full responsibility for. I will do better.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Guns N’ Roses’ unreleased track ‘Perhaps’ has leaked on digital jukeboxes after it wasn’t released as reported on Friday (11.08.23).
Fans were anticipating the release of the tune from the ‘Chinese Democracy’ era, as a since-deleted listing on Universal Music was spotted with a pre-save link for the track on Spotify and Apple Music.
Even though it wasn’t released to streaming platforms, several bars in the US allegedly got to hear the song on the TouchTunes digital jukeboxes, which also had what appears to be the artwork for ‘Perhaps’.
The ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ hitmakers still haven’t officially confirmed anything yet.
The ‘Patience’ rockers released two tracks, ‘Absurd’ and ‘Hard Skool’, both reworked outtakes from 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’, in 2021.
The notorious record was delayed for years and held up by legal hassles, while guitar-slayer Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Matt Sorum quit the group, and only frontman Axl Rose and keyboardist Dizzy Reed remained.
Slash has previously teased more new music from the hard rock band.
The band reunited with original members Slash and Duff for the 2016 ‘Not in This Lifetime… Tour’.
Slash previously admitted he and his bandmates hadn’t penned any new material since reuniting.
He said in October 2021: “As far as new Guns is concerned; we haven’t even gotten to that point of really in earnest sitting down and writing.
“We’ve been doing a lot of material that’s been sort of sitting around for a while. So that will be a whole focused endeavour unto itself.”
Axl, Slash and Duff’s last studio album was 1993’s ‘The Spaghetti Incident?’.
This June, the ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ rockers headlined Glastonbury festival with special guest Dave Grohl joining them for a rendition of ‘Paradise City’.
Introducing his friend, singer Axl said: “There’s never such a thing as too many guitars!”
However, the hit-filled set appeared blighted by sound issues.
And at one point, Axl told the crowd: “I can’t walk out here that far because when I do I can only hear me and I can’t hear the band. I’m not trying to wuss out they were.”

OHMYGOSSIP — You Me At Six have cancelled their upcoming United States tour due to “personal reasons”.
The ‘Save It For The Bedroom’ rockers have scrapped the dates – which would have marked their first headline tour across the US since 2019 – and revealed that refunds are available at “point of purchase”.
In a statement shared on their social media accounts, the band said: “We regret to announce that our tour of the US due to start next month is cancelled due to personal reasons.
“We’re sorry to all our American Sixers who have tickets. We really do love you and we will try to make it up to you.
“Refunds are available from your point of purchase.”
The tour – which was due to take place in September and October – would have seen the band supported by Mothica, and Wolf and Bear as they planned to promote their latest album ‘Truth Decay’.
The record – which was their eighth album and dropped in February – includes singles like ‘Deep Cuts’, ‘No Future? Yeah Right’ and ‘Mixed Emotions (I Didn’t Know How To Tell You What I was Going Through)’.
It saw the group return to their emo roots as frontman Josh Franceschi previously admitted the revival of the scene inspired You Me At Six to try and reclaim their throne.
He told NME: “There’s nothing better than healthy competition. There’s a very obvious revival of the scene that has become really poignant and I just saw a lot of other people doing it and thought, they can’t do it like us.
“They woke up a sleeping giant… I’ve really enjoyed seeing what other people have done with this emo sound, but there is a reason we were known as the British band that did it.
“We did it best back then, and I want to prove that we can still do it the best now.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Minogue has added 10 new dates for her Las Vegas residency after she was left “humbled” by the “overwhelming” response to her shows.
The 55-year-old singer announced her first-ever Las Vegas residency, at The Venetian Resort’s Voltaire nightclub, in July, and her shows are set to begin in November.
But the in-demand star has added dates in December, March, April and May after fans snapped up the initial tickets.
She wrote on Twitter: “OMG… Sold Out!?! So humbled by this overwhelming response. So much so, that we are adding ten more dates! I know many of you missed out on a ticket. Hope you can bag your [ticket emoji] for one of these new dates. (sic)”
Kylie will now also perform at Voltaire on December 15th and 16th, as well as March 8th, 9th, 15th, 16; April 26th and 27th; and May 3rd and 4th.
In July, the pop icon – who hasn’t toured in North America since her 2011 ‘Aphrodite: Les Folies Tour’ – admitted there will be plenty of “surprises” during her residency.
She said: “I’ve performed a couple of times at Vegas, but as part of a tour, and particularly when I did the ‘Showgirl’ tour in 2004 – at that time we said, ‘Oh, this feels like a Vegas show’.
“I want it to be the kind of essence of what a Kylie show has become, enough glamour and abandon.
“I’ve got some versions of songs that have not been heard, like reinterpretations of songs, which is exciting. Live bed dances, amazing costumes.
“That’s the base, and then we’ll see what surprises we can come up with.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper believes The Beatles would have reunited if John Lennon hadn’t been murdered.
The ‘Poison’ hitmaker had Sir Paul McCartney, 81, and Lennon in his infamous Hollywood Vampires drinking club – which shares a name with his supergroup with Johnny Depp, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, and more – and he believes the pals would have reformed the ‘Yesterday’ group if the ‘Woman’ hitmaker hadn’t been assassinated outside his apartment in New York City on 8 December 1980, a decade after the legendary band split acrimoniously.
Asked if he thinks they would have reunited, Alice told Ohio’s QFM96: “Absolutely. Here’s the thing about them. When they were after each other’s throats, when it came to the breakup and all that stuff, if anybody in the Vampires back in those days – that was our drinking club – if anybody said anything bad about Paul, John would take a swing at you, because that was his best friend.
“If anybody said anything about John to Paul, Paul would walk out of the room. He’d just walk out. Because you are not allowed to talk about their best friends. They were best friends no matter what was going on in the whole thing.”
Alice, 75, suggested Lennon wanted to make their music “more political” and that McCartney wasn’t keen.
He added: “One went one way, and one went the other. I think John wanted to be more political. Paul was not into that that much.”
In 2021, McCartney admitted he hates the misconception that he broke up The Beatles.
The ‘Let It Be’ hitmaker shared how he “only recently” got over claims he split up the group – which also featured Sir Ringo Starr, 83, and the late George Harrison.
During a talk with poet Paul Muldoon – with whom he has collaborated on ‘The Lyrics, 1956 to the present’ book – at the Royal Festival Hall in London, he was asked what the biggest misconception was about being Paul McCartney.
He replied: “That I had broken The Beatles up … so I lived with that because once a headline is out there it sticks. That was a big one that I’ve only finally just got over.”
The former Wings star also revealed his regret that he never told Lennon he loved him and said it was “miraculous” that The Beatles had found each other.
He said: “The four of us miraculously found each other. We grew up together. It’s like walking up a staircase and we’ve always been side by side on that staircase. I’m like a fan. I just remember how great it was to work with him and how great he was. Because you are not just messing around, you are not singing with Joe Bloggs you are singing with John Lennon.
“It’s very true. You say that I loved him and as 17-year-old Liverpool kids you could never say that. It just wasn’t done. So I never really said, ‘John, love you mate’ I never got around to it so now it’s great to know how much I love this man.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake has a new collaboration with Bad Bunny on his forthcoming eighth studio album.
The ‘God’s Plan’ hitmaker and the Latin superstar – whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio – have teamed up again on a track on Drake’s follow-up to 2022’s ‘Honestly, Nevermind’.
Headlining the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Sunday (13.08.23) on his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour, Drake told the crowd: “I want to tell y’all something ’cause y’all are L.A., and we love you. It’s been like six years since me and Benito did a song. So, we got a song coming for y’all on my album.”
Bunny, who the rapper last joined forces with in 2018 on ‘Mia’ from his debut album ‘X 100pre’, was in attendance at the concert.
Drake sent fans wild by revealing he’s planning to drop ‘For All The Dogs’ in “like two weeks”, meaning it’s due any day now.
During the tour’s stop at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on July 26, he teased fans about the imminent arrival of the new LP, which also follows his joint LP with 21 Savage, ‘Her Loss’.
He told fans at the iconic venue: “New York I will be back soon. I have an album dropping for you in like two weeks.”
Drake previously teased fans on the opening night of his joint tour with Savage that he has a new record “coming soon”.
The ‘Rich Flex’ rapper was performing at Chicago’s United Center with his collaborator on July 5, when he dropped some big news.
He told the crowd: “I have an album coming out soon for y’all.”
However, it was not the first time the ‘One Dance’ hitmaker had teased a new LP.
When the pair performed at the Apollo Theater in New York City for a SiriusXM special in January, Drake spilled: “I’ve thought about a bunch of things in life, but at this moment in time none of those things are stopping making music for you, so I’ll be here for you for a little bit at least.
“I hope I can strike up more emotions for you. Maybe this year – I might get bored and make another one. Who knows?”

OHMYGOSSIP — Drake is featured twice on DJ Khaled’s upcoming LP ‘Til Next Time’.
The high-in-demand rapper has worked with his regular collaborator again with the ‘To the Max’ hitmaker confirming two new songs with the ‘Rich Flex’ star, 36, have been “mixed and mastered” for his upcoming 14th studio album – the follow-up to 2022’s ‘God Did’ – which is due out this year.
During a recent Instagram Live, Khaled teased: “Ayo Drake fan hub, you know I got two Drakes in the can. Mixed. Mastered. You know I got two Drakes, two Champagne Papi’s on my album. You know that right? The album’s Til Next Time.”
Earlier this year, Khaled joined Def Jam Recordings in a bid to take his career to the “next level”.
The 47-year-old producer felt “blessed” to bring his We the Best imprint to the record label, following his eight-year stint at Epic Records, and cannot wait to “achieve greater heights”.
He said: “This new chapter marks a special time for me.
“The energy at this point in my career is at an all-time high and I’m grateful to Sir Lucian Grainge for allowing me to join his empire at this stage in my journey.
“Together, we will achieve even greater heights and take it to the next level.
“I feel blessed and so inspired with renewed energy.”
The rapper was appointed the president of Def Jam South, a music division of Def Jam, in February 2009, before leaving in 2011.
And he is excited to “come back home” and is confident he and Def Jam can “make history” together.
Khaled added: “I’m excited to not only partner, but to come back home to Def Jam.
“Tunji Balogun is not only an extraordinary A and R, but a true music-man and visionary who continuously is responsible for introducing the world to some of its next greatest superstars.
“I’m excited to join my sister and visionary executive LaTrice Burnette once again, as we have had tremendous success on every single project we have collaborated on in the past.

OHMYGOSSIP — BTS will end their hiatus in 2025.
The K-Pop boy band – comprising RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook – broke the news of their hiatus to their armies of fans during their annual FESTA dinner last year, which celebrated the hugely popular band’s ninth anniversary.
As well as focusing on solo projects, some members have had mandatory military service to complete.
The South Korean outfit will reunite but fans have a little while longer to wait.
Noting a conversation he had with his bandmate Suga during a livestream on Weverse, RM said: “He told me that there were a great number of ARMY across the globe wanting the seven of us to reunite and perform again.”
He continued: “But as I’m working on my solo project, I keep thinking this way: ‘This is like a vacation’.
“What I mean by that is that it’s a kind of vacation that we, BTS and ARMY, need to take to successfully come back as a whole. So, I believe all our solo activities are important trips for our next chapter, and they’re also trips which we must go on in order to safely come back home.”
RM insists: “We’ll be joining together again. And that will be in 2025.”
Announcing their hiatus, RM said it was time for them to work on their own, adding: “I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature.
“You have to keep producing music and keep doing something.”
J-Hope said: “I think we should spend some time apart to learn how to be one again. I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan. I think BTS will become stronger that way.”
V insisted they were not splitting and vowed the band’s “synergy will be like no other” when they regroup.

OHMYGOSSIP — Nick Jonas stumbled and fell backward into a hole onstage at the Jonas Brothers’ Boston gig on Tuesday night (15.08.23).
The ‘Jealous’ singer was mid-song at the TD Garden arena when he slipped and allegedly mouthed “Ouch!” before getting back up on his feet and continuing the performance with his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas.
It was the third show of the trio’s ‘The Album’ tour.
The run kicked off at the Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York City at the weekend, and Nick’s wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas gushed over the show and how “lucky” she is to be married to the singer.
The ‘Citadel’ actress – who has 18-month-old daughter Malti Marie with the 30-year-old pop star – was in the audience for the opening night on Saturday (12.08.23) and hailed the concert as “awe-inspiring”.
She wrote on Instagram: “You are a magnet @nickjonas MM and I are so lucky to have you.
“Congratulations on the start of an incredible tour. You’re all in for a huge ride! Let’s gooooo! Great job JB team the Band, the crew. The show was seamless and awe-inspiring. Round 2 tonight!(sic)”
She also shared a photo of the ‘Sucker’ hitmaker backstage on her Instagram Story.
She captioned the image: “My heart. So proud of you @nickjonas.”
Before the show, the 41-year-old star had taken her daughter to watch her dad and uncles at soundcheck.
Nick shared pictures of him and Priyanka walking arm-in-arm at the venue, and of the toddler sitting with him by a drum kit, clutching a pair of drumsticks and wearing noise-cancelling pink headphones.
He captioned his Instagram post: “From sound check to the stage with my girls. Yankees night one was beyond words. Can’t wait for night two tonight. @jonasbrothers (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran hasn’t been asked to record a new version of ‘End Game’ with Taylor Swift yet.
The ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker is working her way through re-recording her first six albums to reclaim ownership of them following a masters dispute with her former record label Big Machine Records and has so far released ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’, with ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ set to follow in October.
With a new version of 2017’s ‘Reputation’ expected to follow, Ed was quizzed on whether he has been back in the studio to lay down vocals for ‘End Game’, the pair’s collaboration with Future which featured on the record but admitted he hasn’t yet.
Asked about the subject on Andy Cohen’s ‘Deep + Shallow’ podcast, he said: “No, I haven’t. No. No.
“But ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ is the next one coming out. That’s the next one.”
The ‘Eyes Closed’ hitmaker – who previously joined Taylor to re-record their duet from ‘Red’, ‘Everything Has Changed’ – admitted he’d “love” to see his friend on tour but it’s proven difficult to catch either her ‘Eras’ show or Beyonce’s ‘Renaissance’ concerts because they are all on the road at the same time.
He said: “I think what’s nice about everyone’s show is everyone’s show is so individual to them.
“And everyone’s got a different show, so, uh, so yeah. I mean, but we’re all playing. I would love to go and see Taylor’s show, but we’re all playing on the same dates every single weekend. I think there’s a chance next year when she’s in the UK.”
Taylor recently vowed to make “as many albums as humanly possible”.
According to Variety, Taylor said at one of her six Los Angeles shows on ‘The Eras Tour’: “The reason we didn’t tour for five years — that was not a normal or scheduled thing. We had a global pandemic; we had much more important things that we had to worry about.
“But I’ve been playing shows sort of as a coping mechanism my whole life since I was about 12 years old. I go through this process where I feel things, I write a song about that thing, I show it to you and I go, ‘Do you like it? Did you ever feel this way too?’
“And so, when you guys are at a show if you even nod your head or make eye contact with me or sing the words to a song during a show, that to me validates that emotion and makes me feel like I wasn’t alone in feeling it. It’s sort of my coping process in life — so all of a sudden that was gone.
“And so I decided, in order to keep that connection going, if I couldn’t play live shows with you, I was going to make and release as many albums as humanly possible.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Supergroup Mantra of The Cosmos have released their new single, ‘X (Wot You Sayin?)’.
The band – comprising Zak Starkey from The Who, Oasis bassist Andy Bell, Happy Mondays stars Shaun Ryder and Bez, and, more recently, Brix Smith of The Fall and Sharna Starkey of SSHH – performed the track during their debut at Glastonbury on the Glade Stage in June.
The psychedelic number is inspired by Shaun’s schoolboy nickname “X”.
Zak – who is the son of Beatles legend, Sir Ringo Starr – said: “It’s a brilliant allegorical lyric by Britain’s Bob Dylan and velvety underground drone from Andy Bell.”
Andy commented: “It’s a pleasure to be part of Mantra of the Cosmos. Four like-minded souls who get off on the same music.”
Shaun added: “It’s a f***ing blast mate!! It’s great when we’re not all irate.”
Shaun recently admitted he got so paranoid about being poisoned by Vladimir Putin he changed lyrics mocking the despot.
The Happy Mondays frontman wrote lines poking fun at the Russian warmonger in tunes for Mantra of The Cosmos.
Shaun told Uncut magazine that even though he started off wanting to “put the boot into Putin” with his new tracks, he toned down the words after he started to get scared they could make him a target for assassination.
He said: “It started off worse than that, but we thought, ‘Let’s give this band a chance before we all get poisoned.’”
Shaun’s fears came after the 2018 Salisbury Novichok poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia – and amid warnings that Putin, who experts have said could be suffering from Parkinson’s disease, cancer and dementia, could launch a nuclear attack on the Ukraine and the West.
Dad-of-six Shaun added that instead of going down the political route, he started doing fun rhymes such as matching “laughing gas” with “working class”.
The former drug addict and party animal said about his chaotic songwriting technique: “We just press record and I get to throw a s***load of ideas down.”
He said lyrical themes have become “whatever floats me boat at the time”.
Meanwhile. Zak described Mantra of the Cosmos’ first single ‘Gorilla Guerilla’ as “a fantastic psychedelic groove from a band of misfits, outsiders and innovators”.
Shaun previously said about the group: “It doesn’t sound like the Mondays or Black Grape or Oasis or The Who, it’s what we’re doing all together.”
The group was described in a press release announcing its formation as “a dubby, electronic, 21st century Hawkwind of a band destined to be experienced through epic live performances.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo went through “ups and downs” making her upcoming second studio album.
The ‘good 4 u’ hitmaker has admitted she felt immense “pressure” making ‘GUTS’, the follow-up to her record-breaking 2021 debut LP ‘SOUR’.
Speaking on Hits Radio Breakfast, to Fleur East and James Barr, Olivia said: “Making this album definitely had its ups and downs. “And there were some days where I’m just like, wow, the pressure is just insurmountable. I just feel, I don’t know what I’m gonna do, and other days where it was really fun and, you know, had a great time.
“But uh, you know, I think at the end of the day, the most important thing, it sounds like so cheesy and cliché, but I just wanted to make an album that I really liked and felt really proud of.”
Despite being a huge star, the 20-year-old Grammy winner’s private life hasn’t changed.
She said: “Yeah, I mean, it’s a weird dichotomy.
“Because it’s like, my life is completely different in every way, but also like exactly the same and I hang out with the same three people and just the right songs in my living room.
“I have like three close friends and like my parents, and that’s like, social circle. And I like it that way.”
The ‘drivers license’ hitmaker also denied that the single ‘vampire’ is inspired by the ‘Twilight’ saga.
On how the song came to be, she said: “I love like the concept of a vampire. And it’s like such a cool word to me. And so I had that title written and like the Notes app on my phone under my, you know, Title List section of my phone for a while. And I just was sitting at the piano one day, and I started playing those chords and I got that song.”
