OHMYGOSSIP — Depeche Mode have announced the support acts for their North American tour.
The band have revealed that Kelly Lee Owens, Young Fathers and DIIV will be joining them for all 35 shows when the tour kicks off with three dates in Mexico on September 21, 23 and 25, before moving on to Austin, Texas.
The tour will also visit cities including Miami, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Vancouver, Seattle, and San Diego.
They will wrap up with four dates in Los Angeles, California in December.
The band – which is comprised of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan – has previously shared its admiration for Scottish group Young Fathers.
Gore told NME: “I’ve been having to listen to a lot of stuff for remixes and support artists lately. A band I thought were very unique were Young Fathers. I’ve been listening to their albums and watching live performances, and they’re just so different to everything else.”
And, they personally chose Owens for the support slot.
Gore added: “We were given a massive list of potential support acts; some of them I knew, like Kelly Lee Owens who I actually really liked, and we decided she’d be a perfect fit. What she does is very atmospheric and it never seems like there’s only one person playing – she really puts her soul into it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Malaysia’s Good Vibes Festival is seeking over $2 million in damages from the 1975.
After frontman Matty Healy’s on-stage protest against the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws at the festival on July 21 – where he kissed his male bandmate, bassist Ross MacDonald during their performance – resulted in authorities cancelling the event, the band is now being pursued for damages due to “breach of contract”.
Future Sound Asia attorney David Matthew said in a statement provided to Variety: “They entered into a binding contract with Future Sound Asia to perform and the position of Future Sound Asia, among others, is that this contractual obligation was breached. Further, Mr. Healy’s representative categorically provided a pre-show written assurance that Mr. Healy and The 1975’s live performance ‘shall adhere to all local guidelines and regulations’ during their set in Malaysia. Unfortunately, the assurance was ignored.
“[The 1975’s] actions have had repercussions on local artists and small businesses, who relied on the festival for creative opportunities and their livelihoods.”
According to a legal letter issued on August 8, the band has a limited number of days to present compensation.
During the band’s performance, Healy said: “I made a mistake. When we were booking shows, I wasn’t looking into it. I don’t see the f****** point… of inviting The 1975 to a country and then telling us who we can have sex with.
“I’m sorry if that offends you and you’re religious… but your government are a bunch of f****** r******.
“I don’t care anymore. If you push, I’m gonna push back. I’m not in the f****** mood.
“I’m sure a lot of you are gay and progressive and cool. I pulled this show yesterday, and we had a conversation.
“We said, ‘You know what? We can’t let the kids down because they’re not the government.’
“If you want to invite me here to do a show, you can f*** off. I’ll take your money, you can ban me, but I’ve done this before, and it doesn’t feel good.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Mötley Crüe have been recording brand new music with Mick Mars’ replacement John 5.
The former Rob Zombie guitarist has taken over from the original member after Mick filed a lawsuit against the glam metal group – also comprising Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee – for allegedly trying to force him out after he had to step back from touring due to longstanding health issues that have worsened.
And John has revealed they’ve been working with the famed rock producer, Bob Rock, who produced their 1994 self-titled record and 1989’s ‘Dr. Feelgood’, on some “super heavy” material.
In the new issue of Total Guitar magazine, John spilled: “We’ve been in the studio with [rock producer] Bob Rock, and we’ve been having a great time just like we do on tour, laughing and playing music. It’s coming along really quickly. The songs are super heavy and everybody’s excited.”
The band haven’t released an album since 2008’s ‘Saints of Los Angeles’.
Asked how long he sees himself being in the ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ group, he replied: “I envision staying with Mötley Crüe… As long as Mötley Crüe are around, I don’t plan on leaving and I hope I never get fired. It’s such a wonderful band to be in. It really is a dream to be playing with your friends. It’s something I never envisioned, but I’m so thankful it’s happened.”
John is friends with Mick and insists there’s no bad blood between them, however, he didn’t seek his permission to join the ‘Home Sweet Home’ group.
He said: “I know Mick. We’re good friends and things like that. But I didn’t talk to him beforehand.”
John says playing with Mötley is like being in a dream that he’s frightened to wake up from.
The musician said: “These things are so strange to me.
“I’ll be on stage with them, and I’ll be like, ‘I still can’t believe this?’
I’ll start laughing when we’re playing a song. The guys will say, ‘What’s so funny?’ And I’ll be like, ‘This is just so weird?’ We’ll play ‘Same Old Situation’, and it’s so cool. Or we’ll play ‘Home Sweet Home’ in front of 60,000 people, and I’ll look at Vince and say, ‘This is just like the video!'”
He added: “This is where it’s going to sound funny, because it sounds like a dream. I’m so worried that I’ll wake up and tell my wife, Whoa… I had this dream that I was in Mötley Crüe.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Busted want to make a fly-on-the-wall documentary.
The ‘Year 3000’ hitmakers – comprising Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne – have reformed to mark their 20th anniversary and will be embarking on a 26-date arena tour in support of their ‘Greatest Hits 2.0’ collection, and they revealed two of the gigs will be filmed, with the hope of making a film about their careers to date.
Charlie told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “We are filming two of the shows. We don’t know what we will do with it.
“I would like to make a documentary about the story of Busted, and we are in talks with a couple of people about ­possibly doing that
“It is a very cool moment in the band’s career.”
But fans may not get to see any wild partying from the trio.
Asked how they will unwind after the gig, Charlie quipped: “Herbal tea or something? Rock ’n’ roll, man!”
And Matt will be focusing on his fitness.
He said: “We have got a cold plunge pool on tour — I am obsessed with it.
“I have been ­training for the last two months because I don’t want to be out of breath.
“I am 40 now so I need to sort myself out and prepare for the tour.
“I still want to jump around and go crazy and I don’t want to do two songs and be exhausted.”
The ‘Crashed the Wedding’ group plan to invite former England striker Wayne Rooney to see them play after they were invited to his 18th birthday party in October 2002.
James said: “Wayne came backstage when he was 18 — but I feel he likes hip-hop now.”
Charlie insisted: “We will invite him, James!”
Matt added: “Yeah, once you love Busted it never goes away.
“You could be normal with [Wayne].
“He wasn’t a ‘celeb’ kind of guy — he was like us, so he just wanted to party and have fun.
“He was a Premiership footballer so maybe he shouldn’t have partied so much, but it was a different time.
“We always liked hanging out with him. He was great.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Midge Ure says successful musicians who say they no longer get starstruck meeting their heroes might as well “give it all up”.
The former Ultravox and Visage star – who co-organised the charity concerts Live Aid, Band Aid and Live 8 with Bob Geldof and co-wrote and produced the charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’ with the Boomtown Rats star – will never get over meeting and working with the likes of David Bowie and Eric Clapton.
He told The Big Issue: “I’m imagining going back and popping out of the Tardis to meet my 16-year-old self and saying, one day kid, you’ll meet David Bowie. See that Cream live at the Albert Hall album you’ve got under your arm? One day you’re gonna stand on stage playing guitar with Eric Clapton and he’ll know your name. You’ll meet your heroes and you won’t be disappointed. The magic of those moments never goes away. And despite all the platitudes and the platinum records and the awards and all that stuff, you’re still that 16-year-old kid with a gleam in your eye and a dream in your heart. And when you stand on stage or you meet somebody who was a hero, you still pinch yourself. If that moment dies, you might as well give it all up and go and do something else completely.”
Midge recently confessed that fame went to his head and turned him into an “absolute d***”.
The songwriter – who admits alcohol turned him into someone even he wouldn’t want to hang out with – mistreated his crew at the height of his success and didn’t appreciate their efforts.
Speaking on the ‘How To Be 60′ podcast, Midge, 69, said: “I couldn’t see it at the time of course, but I was notorious with my crew.
“If they got it wrong, I’d pull them in and say, ‘What happened?’
“That should have happened, those lights were still on, that should have gone off’.
“That must have been horrendous for them.
“Those guys worked so hard, and I couldn’t see it.”
He added: “I must have been an absolute d***.
“But then success starts to wane, and you find your humility again.
“You find who you were and revert to that person and you gain an understanding of how to do it, and stamping your foot with a jackboot on sometimes isn’t the way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Offset will release his second solo album in October.
The 31-year-old rapper originally planned to release the follow-up to 2019’s ‘Father Of 4’ last November but delayed the release out of respect for his late bandmate Takeoff, who was shot dead on 1 November, and he’s now revealed the record will be coming soon.
Speaking to Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, he confirmed: “[The album is] coming in October but right now we just applying pressure”.
Offset plans to “show way more personality” on the album.
He said: “Creatively, content-wise, I’m going to just keep my rollout going.
“The rollout started from ‘Jealousy’, so I’m going to just keep the rollout starting from right then. So with this album, I’m definitely going to be showing way more personality, way more [of] who Offset is, creatively. Taking to the next level.”
A few months ago, the rapper explained he needed to do some soul-searching before sharing the record with the world.
He told Variety: “This is me going full-fledged into my solo career. The objective is to do it fully and smash s*** and f*** the game up as a solo artist. It’s all set, my next chapter. It’s my time.
“I really wanted to drop the album like two years ago, but it wasn’t time. I had to master who I was, and I got it now.”
Offset was asked about Takeoff – who was like family to him – but had to walk away from the interview for the night because he was overcome with grief.
The only way Offset can get through is by pretending that his death was “fake”.
He said: “It’s hard for me to talk about s*** right now. I’ve never talked about this stuff. Seriously. Talking about Take is hard, man. Talking about all this s*** is hard. That’s why I don’t, to be honest. That s*** hurts. Like, it’s gonna put me in a mood, and I don’t want to get in that mood. Some things I don’t never tell nobody. He’s not here. That s*** feels fake, bro. I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say nothing to nobody about it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Slipknot are finally planning to release their “long-lost” album ‘Look Outside Your Window’ more than 15 years after it was recorded.
The rockers laid down the tracks for the record in 2008 at the same time they were working on their album ‘All Hope Is Gone’ but the second record got shelved and has yet to see the light of day – however, frontman Corey Taylor has revealed they are hoping to drop it in 2024.
Speaking to NME, he explained: “I was talking to Clown [bandmate Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan’ about it [the record] the other day and he goes, ‘One of the reasons it hasn’t come out is because you keep putting s*** out which keeps conflicting with when I want to release it!’
“I was like, ‘F*** dude, why didn’t you tell me?’ He says, ‘F***, Taylor – you just got too much s***!’
“It’s sounding like he’s got a release date that he can finally lock in and I have promised him that I won’t release anything that will ruin that. I think it’s going to be next year – finally, man!”
Corey added of the album: “I just went back and listened to all that stuff and it’s so dope and so different. People going into this thinking it sounds like ‘Slipknot’ Slipknot are so wrong. It doesn’t sound like anything Slipknot have ever done, that’s why it’s its own thing. To me, it really is the long-lost album. The music is so beautiful … People are really going to dig it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Lionel Richie postponed his Madison Square Garden gig due to “severe weather”.
The ‘Hello’ hitmaker admitted he was “bummed” after he was forced to pull his performance at the legendary venue in New York City on Saturday night (12.08.23), because the aircraft he was arriving on was “unable to land”, leaving thousands of fans disappointed.
Lionel, 74, rescheduled the concert for tonight (14.08.23).
A statement posted on his social media pages read: “Due to severe weather and being unable to land in the NY and surrounding areas, I’m unable to make it to the show tonight. I’m so bummed. We are rescheduling the show to Monday Aug 14. Can’t wait to perform for you all. Tickets for tonight’s show are valid for the show on Monday.”
Many fans were left “frustrated” and one suggested the ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ hitmaker could have been driven in a limo.
One wrote: “You can’t sell out Madison Square Garden and [cancel due to] a weather issue.”
Another wrote: “Hope you’re OK but you should have taken a limo for your fans for four hours. He’s loaded … take a f****** limo.”
Earlier this year, Lionel brushed off criticism of his Coronation concert.
The singer was slammed for the quality of his voice by music fans after appearing at the event in Windsor Castle on May 7, a day after Britain’s King Charles was crowned, but later posted about his pride in his performance on his Instagram.
He shared a nine-minute clip of his gig on his Instagram Stories and, in reference to one of his biggest hits, captioned the video: “All night long at Windsor Castle England.”
His show reel showed him in a black and white outfit as he sat at a piano and kicked things off with a performance of his classic ‘Easy’, while Charles, 74, and his 76-year-old wife Queen Camilla were seen watching while other audience members danced along.

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bublé performed ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ with Foo Fighters at the Outside Lands festival.
The ‘Learn to Fly’ rockers were headlining the music event at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Saturday evening (12.08.23) when frontman Dave Grohl spotted a “superfan” in the crowd holding a sign that read “I [heart] Bublé”, which just so happened to be the Canadian singer.
Foos’ drummer Josh Freese – who replaced the late Taylor Hawkins – used to play for the ‘Home’ hitmaker.
And Dave quipped: “This mother****** better know the song.”
He later joked: “We’ve been doing that thing where people from the audience come up and say ‘I know that f****** song,’ and they walk up and they know the first verse, they don’t know it.
“So this badass mother****** — and I’m not even kidding — flew in today from Argentina to f****** sing that song to you guys. Because there’s no such thing as taking a joke too far.”
The ‘Feeling Good’ hitmaker performing with the heavy rock band comes after Foos teamed up with Alanis Morissette to pay tribute to Sinead O’Connor at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival.
They put on a special performance dedicated to the late singer who passed away on July 26 aged 56.
Dave told the crowd: “For a very special reason, ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome to sing a song with us, Alanis Morissette We’re singing this song for a reason tonight.”
Alanis then added: “For a beautiful woman, with high intelligence and deep empathy, way ahead of her time, who’s no longer with us, this is for her.”
They then performed Sinead’s track ‘Mandinka’ – the second song from her 1987 debut album ‘The Lion and the Cobra’.
After they finished, Alanis told the audience: “May Sinead rest in some peace.”
Sinead was found dead at a flat in Herne Hill, south London just weeks after moving to the city.

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran is to release a new album next month.
The ‘Shape of You’ hitmaker only put out ‘Subtract’ – the final record in his mathematics series – in May, but he’s already lining up his next studio effort for September after he wraps his ‘Mathematics’ tour.
During his set at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Saturday (12.08.23), he teased after performing three new songs: “Autumn is coming, I will see you soon.”
And a source has since told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Ed is going to be dropping a brand new record next month.
“It’s going to be massive for his fans, who’ve never had him drop two albums in a year before.
“It’s a massive change for him, as for years he has followed the traditional path of releasing a major album then going on tour.
“Now he’s going to drop the album to give fans something to look forward to after he wraps up the Mathematics tour next month.
“He has started testing out the material on fans at recent concerts and the reaction has been incredible.
“Everyone has been hugely respectful by not filming or recording the songs so they can be a surprise to those who weren’t at the concerts.”
The ‘Bad Habits’ hitmaker, 32, recently admitted he has been “questioning” a lot of things as he prepares to switch things up and admitted he wants to try country music at some point.
Speaking on NBC’s ‘Today’ show, he said: “I’ve known for the past 13 years what Mathematics would be, and now it’s, like, what to do next There’s lots of questions going around in my head. I lived in Nashville for a couple of years, and I kind of fell in love with country music there. That’s something I would love to do at some point.”
The ‘Eyes Closed’ hitmaker previously explained that he “loves the culture” that surrounds country music after spending time in Nashville and discovering the “community” of songwriters there but explained that he had “never really listened” to the genre until he supported Taylor Swift on her ‘Red’ tour in 2013.
He told Billboard: “I love the culture of it, I just love the songwriting. It’s just like brilliant songs. It’s like a community. There’s not really a place in Europe where you could point and say, ‘That’s the home of songwriting,’” he says. “It’s not just for country music. Nashville is just a hub of incredible songwriters, incredible performers. And I really felt inspired just being there being around everyone.
“I’d never really listened to country music as a kid growing up. It was only being on Taylor’s Red tour and living in Nashville and her basically introducing me to that side of it.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Corey Taylor has insisted people in Slipknot’s home state are “ashamed” of the band.
The ‘Psychosocial’ rocker – who has fronted the iconic heavy metal band since 1997 – suggested people are “so mad” about their success, pointing to the state’s conservatism as well as “bitter” musicians chasing the same dream.
Appearing on the ‘Zach Sang Show’, he said: “We were judged for so f****** long about who we were, I mean we came from The Fringe and what we represented was something that, to do this day, is still anathema to a lot of people in Iowa.
“There are a lot of people in Iowa that are very ashamed of the fact that Slipknot comes from there and it’s because of this newfound Resurgence and conservative bulls***.
“As much as Iowa – when I was there – was a purple State it’s very red now and there’s a lot of people who I know who are not happy about it.”
He claimed people he has known for three decades give him a lot of “side-eye”, and he shrugged off surprise at the reaction.
He added: “Not if you come from there, not if you know the people. There’s a lot of f****** d***s who still live in Des Moines, Iowa, that are so mad.
“I know dudes that I’ve known for 30 years, I run into them and they side-eye me hard. There’s so many bitter p****s in that goddamn town and and they’re just hanging on you know, like they just don’t want to accept the fact that they didn’t want it [success] as much as we did.”
While Corey noted there are certainly a lot of acts who didn’t get the same break, there are some didn’t match Slipknot’s drive.
He said: “And I’m not going to sit here and say that they didn’t deserve it because there were a lot of great bands in this scene that we came out of, but for whatever reason, they didn’t push hard enough and even when we did make it, and we tried to shine that spotlight on the Des Moines scene, because it was almost in a weird way like a pseudo Seattle moment.
“There was a lot of people trolling through Des Moines trying to find the next Slipknot.
“Everybody who we tried to help blew it, they just didn’t f****** want it as much as we did you know: I mean we would have lived and died for the s*** and these guys just thought it was a crumb.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Shakira is in talks to receive the Video Vanguard Award at next month’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The 46-year-old singer is said to be chatting to MTV bosses about being presented with the lifetime achievement gong, and performing at the music extravaganza at New Jersey’s Prudential Center on September 12th.
A source The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “This is a massive deal for Shakira. It is about celebrating her entire career and the mark she has had on music globally.”
Should Shakira accept the prestigious prize, she will perform a number of her hits – which could include ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and ‘Whenever, Wherever’ – at the star-studded ceremony.
The source added: “The deal isn’t done yet. If you accept the award, you have to give a major performance, so they are still working out the details.
“But everyone really wants it to happen. It would be a real honour.
“She has been hard at work on new music and this would be the perfect way to enter the next era of her career.”
Even if Shakira doesn’t receive the award, she may not leave the event empty handed.
The star is up for three gongs at the ceremony, including two nominations for Best Latin, for her song ‘Acrostico’ and her and Karol G’s tune ‘TQG’, which is also up for Best Collaboration.
Shakira will also do battle with several big-name stars for the Artist of the Year prize.
She is up against Beyoncé, Doja Cat, Karol, Nicki Minaj, and Taylor Swift, who leads the VMA nominations with eight nods.

OHMYGOSSIP — Alice Cooper has released the foot-stomping glam rock tune, ‘Welcome to the Show’.
The third single from the theatrical rocker’s upcoming album ‘Road’ is out now and follows ‘I’m Alice’ and ‘White Line Frankenstein’, the latter of which featured Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello.
Alice said of the song: “’Welcome to the Show’ is just that: telling the audience here it is. The show is ready to go, and we are fully loaded. Here it comes!”
The legendary shock rocker, 75, is back with his first new music since his 2021 LP ‘Detroit Stories’, for which he has reunited with longtime rock producer Bob Ezrin.
He’s backed on the record by his revered live band: Ryan Roxie [guitar], Chuck Garric [bass], Tommy Henrikson [guitar], Glen Sobel [drums], and Nita Strauss [guitar].
A press release notes that: “‘Road’ channels the spirit of old school Alice with instantly recognisable grit and plenty of gusto.”
The ‘School’s Out’ hitmaker commented: “For Road, I wanted the band to be involved in the foundation of all the songs.
“I only see these guys when we’re on the road. So, I wanted them to be as tight as they are for the show but on all new material. When you have a band this good, I believe in showing it off, and this is my way of doing so.”
On ‘I’m Alice’, which is out now, the ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ rocker – who dons his signature goth clown eyeliner look in the music video – declares himself: “The Master of Madness; the Sultan of Surprise…so don’t be afraid, just look into my eyes.”
The new LP will be released on August 25 and is accompanied by a bonus DVD/Blu-ray of Alice’s full live show at Hellfest 2022.

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift is set to drop ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ in October.
The Grammy winner surprised fans at the last of her six ‘Eras’ tour shows at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium on Wednesday night (09.08.23) by unveiling the album’s artwork.
And she shared the news that her “favourite” re-recorded record of her first six albums is dropping on its ninth anniversary on October 27, 2023.
On Instagram, she wrote: “Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you soon!”
The ‘Blank Space’ hitmaker moved away from her country-tinged sound for 80s pop on the popular record and has teased the “insane” From The Vault tracks, which didn’t make the original cut.
She continued: “The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long! (sic)”
The ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker is working her way through re-recording her first six albums to reclaim ownership of them following a masters dispute with her former record label Big Machine Records.
So far, she has released ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’, ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’ and ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’.
Taylor recently vowed to make “as many albums as humanly possible”.
The ‘Shake It Off’ hitmaker wants to keep the special connection she has with her Swifties alive for as long as she can by creating new records that they can relate to and react to when she performs them live, as it’s her “coping mechanism”.
According to Variety, Taylor said at one of her six Los Angeles shows on ‘The Eras Tour’: “The reason we didn’t tour for five years — that was not a normal or scheduled thing. We had a global pandemic; we had much more important things that we had to worry about.
“But I’ve been playing shows sort of as a coping mechanism my whole life since I was about 12 years old. I go through this process where I feel things, I write a song about that thing, I show it to you and I go, ‘Do you like it? Did you ever feel this way too?’
“And so, when you guys are at a show if you even nod your head or make eye contact with me or sing the words to a song during a show, that to me validates that emotion and makes me feel like I wasn’t alone in feeling it. It’s sort of my coping process in life — so all of a sudden that was gone.”
She concluded: “And so I decided, in order to keep that connection going, if I couldn’t play live shows with you, I was going to make and release as many albums as humanly possible.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher would love to be in a supergroup with surviving Beatles Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr.
The former Oasis rocker took influence from the iconic Liverpool band throughout Oasis’ career and beyond and has already performed with music legend McCartney, 81, at his daughter Stella McCartney’s 50th birthday party last year.
The ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ hitmaker also released a charity cover of Beatles classic ‘Come Together’ with former The Jam star Paul Weller, 65, in 1995 and would love to be in a band with his pals Weller and ex-Smiths rocker Johnny Marr, 59.
He is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: “I’d definitely join a supergroup. I don’t know if I would start one. Who would I like to be in a supergroup with? I could be in a band with [Paul] Weller and I could be in a band with Johnny [Marr], easily. Playing the bass… Ringo and Macca would be f*****g great.”
Gallagher has worked with Marr, too, who plays guitar on the tracks ‘Pretty Boy’, ‘Open the Door, See What You Find’ and the instrumental ‘Think of a Number’ on his latest High Flying Birds LP, ‘Council Skies’.
The ‘Easy Now’ singer also recorded a cover of ‘Mind Games’ by late Beatles frontman John Lennon for the record.
Meanwhile, the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker has confessed to forgetting the lyrics to Oasis hits and admitted he might need to invest in a couple of autocues to get him by.
The 56-year-old musician – who often lets his fans sing the Britpop group’s big hits for him at his solo gigs – also admitted he’s not as fit as he used to be.
He said: “I’ve found myself on this tour, and I’m sure it’s a symptom of the ongoing march of time, but I’ve consciously found myself thinking, ‘What is the next line to this song?’ And, I mean, thankfully, I’m not ­forgetting a lot. But I’ve just got to think.
“The [lyrics] autocue… I’m sure, ­eventually, I’ll need one or two. It was a couple of years ago that I ran a mile. I need to get back in the gym.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher reunited with former Oasis bandmate Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs at his intimate London gig on Wednesday (09.08.23).
The Britpop group’s former frontman, 50, put on a small show at the iconic KOKO venue in Camden, and he welcomed the group’s ex-guitarist, 58, back onstage after he got the all-clear from cancer last year.
Before performing the first song of the evening, ‘Morning Glory’, Liam said: “Big round of applause for Bonehead.”
He dived straight into ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ star before his debut solo tune ‘Wall Of Glass’.
Liam then told the crowd: “This place is a mad little gaff innit?”
Treats included a piano version of ‘Paper Crown’ from 2017’s ‘As You Were’ and a finale of Jimi Hendrix‘s 60s classic ‘Are You Experienced’.
On Friday (11.08.23), the rock star will release a live album of his 2022 Knebworth Park concerts.
The ‘Supersonic’ singer played two triumphant concerts at the venue of his former band Oasis’ era-defining shows in 1996, at which they performed to 250,000 people over two evenings.
‘Knebworth 22’ contains Oasis classics such as ‘Some Might Say’, ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’, which saw legendary Stone Roses guitarist John Squire perform with the band, as well as Liam’s solo tracks, including ‘Wall Of Glass’, ‘Everything’s Electric’ and ‘Once’.
The live LP captures the energy in the crowd from the roar of approval that greets Liam as he steps on stage to open the show with ‘Hello’ right through to the mass singalongs for the iconic hits of the past.
Announcing the album, Liam said: “So, we recorded the Knebworth gigs we did last year. We all sound Biblical, turn it up ENJOY, LGx.”
Demand for the two 2022 summer shows was high and all 170,000 tickets for the weekend sold out almost instantly.
‘Knebworth 22’ is released alongside a live video of the weekend’s surprises such as ‘Roll It Over’ from Oasis’ fourth studio LP ‘Standing On The Shoulder of Giants’, which the group had never played live.
In addition to its digital release, physical formats include standard and deluxe CDs, black double-vinyl and sun yellow double-vinyl.
A striking olive and black marble double-vinyl edition is also available exclusively from Liam’s official store.
In 2023, Liam, 50, is playing a variety of international dates, including a UK exclusive headline set at Boardmasters before culminating with Summersonic shows in Tokyo and Osaka.
