Pretenders urge followers to ‘give local fans a chance’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Pretenders have sparked outrage by asking their supporters to “give local fans a chance” to be on the front row at their concerts.
The ‘Brass In Pocket’ hitmakers are currently in the middle of a UK tour and have admitted dedicated followers who have booked tickets for multiple shows may be asked to move in order to keep things “new” for the band and allow those who don’t see the band in action so often a better view.
Singer Chrissie Hynde shared a letter to Instagram which read: “Hi All!
“First of all, thank you to everyone who’s come to see our shows. We’re in the homestretch of this year‘s tour and it’s been a real pleasure. Fantastic cities and fantastic audiences. We’ve had a great time playing for you.
“One thing we feel obliged to explain:
“When we go on tour, the whole point of it for the band is that we are playing to a different audience every night.
“That’s why we go on tour!
“So if we’re in Edinburgh (like we are tonight), we look forward to seeing local faces.
“This is what makes it new for us every night.
“We appreciate those of you who follow us and buy tickets for multiple nights, so please don’t be offended if we request you to move out of the front row.
“All we are asking is that you give the local fans a chance. This is what keeps it new for us…especially after being on tour for so many months.
“See you later! XCH (sic)”
The post was instantly flooded with criticism from fans, with some pledging not to buy tickets to see the band again.
One commenter wrote: “Fans that spend money on tickets, merch and make travel arrangements deserve better. Put their life on hold for their favorite band are the ones who love and support you unconditional. There are level for fans. Casual fans are just casual. They don’t even buy you records.(sic)”
Another posted: “What a stupid comment, so loyaĺ fans spending money to follow you around get asked to move. Hope they dont follow you anymore, disgusting attitude. (sic)”
And a third wrote: “How disrespectful to your fans. If you were one of my top bands, I would be brokenhearted to see you say this. Traveling and following my favorite bands on tour brings me so much joy. Locals can lineup early for a GA show or buy tickets to be in front just like anyone else.(sic)”

‘There’s been enough said about this band…’ Liam Gallagher denies Oasis reunion doc is in the works

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has denied an Oasis reunion documentary is in the works.
The 52-year-old frontman insists the Britpop legends’ comeback gigs next year – which will see him and his formerly estranged sibling, guitarist Noel, 57, back onstage for the first time since 2009 – will speak for themselves after years of “yapping and scrapping”.
And he shut down claims top studios are in a fierce bidding war to land the rights to a film about the reunion.
A fan on X asked: “How’s the new doco filming going? (sic)”, prompting Liam to reply: “We’re not doing 1 I’m not gonna be in it anyway I’m doing the gigs there’s been enough said about this band it’s time to get Rocking and Rolling not yapping and scrapping. (sic)”
The brothers are also not planning to give any joint interviews ahead of the ‘Oasis Live ’25 Tour’, which kicks off in Cardiff on July 4.
Liam responded to another fan: “Exactly we’ve been over this b****x a million times and some people have different versions to others we’re back and that’s all that matters to me and should donto the REAL fans of the band (sic)”
A source had told The Sun on Sunday that Apple TV+ bosses were battling to sign them up for a big-money documentary about their reunion.
They claimed: “This is set to be the film of the decade, with Apple TV+ proposing huge money to bag the rights to this documentary.
“They are facing competition from other streamers such as Amazon Prime and Netflix but Apple have thrown all their weight behind this one.
“Fans can expect it to be in the same style as the Beatles documentary (2021’s ‘Get Back’ from Disney+) which gave a never-before-seen insight into the band.”
This week, it was also claimed that Richard Ashcroft and Cast will support Oasis.
Speculation has been rife about whether they would recruit fellow 90s’ stars as warm-up acts.
A report in The Independent this week claimed indie group Cast will perform first before former The Verve frontman Richard, 53, takes to the stage ahead of Oasis at the shows.
Representatives for Oasis declined to comment on the rumour, but it is understood support act confirmation is expected next week.
Richard has a long history with Oasis – and his wild 90s’ antics were the inspiration behind Oasis’ 1995 song ‘Cast No Shadow’.
Cast supported Oasis at Knebworth in 1996 and split in 2001 before they reformed in 2010, and their seventh album ‘Love is the Call’ came out in February.
Oasis are set to be supported on their North America shows by US rock band Cage the Elephant, but no support act for their shows in Australia has been announced.
Manic Street Preachers have also been rumoured as a possible back-up group for Oasis.
The report about Richard and Cast comes weeks after Liam teased Oasis fans on social media about the prospect Richard – as well as their old Britpop rivals Blur – and the Manic Street Preachers supporting the band on their reunion gigs.

Dua Lipa brings out Elton John at Royal Albert Hall concert

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Elton John was a special guest at Dua Lipa’s Royal Albert Hall concert on Thursday night (17.10.24).
The 77-year-old music legend retired from touring last year following his mammoth 330-date ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour but reaffirmed that he will still perform from time to time by joining the 29-year-old pop star onstage to perform their hit ‘Cold Heart’ in London this week.
In his recent tome, ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road: Memories Of My Life on Tour’, Elton said: “I’ve been clear with my fans that while the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour is the culmination of my touring career, I still plan to perform live.
“What this will entail I don’t know yet.”
The ‘Tiny Dancer’ hitmaker revealed earlier this year that he planned to do a “a one-off thing” after he retired from touring.
He said at his final show in Stockholm: “I will never be touring again, but I may do something in the future – a one-off thing – but that’s miles away.
“I want to appreciate my family, my sons, my husband, everything. I’ve earned it.”
Elton’s stage return comes just over a month after he revealed he was left with “limited vision” in one of his eyes after an infection.
He wrote on Instagram: “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.
“I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.
“I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.
“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

Queen star Brian May hails The Last Dinner Party as ‘new British rock royalty’

OHMYGOSSIP — Brian May has hailed The Last Dinner Party as “new British rock royalty”.
The Queen guitarist attended the ‘Nothing Matters’ hitmakers’ show at London’s Eventim Apollo on Wednesday night (16.10.24) following an invite from lead guitarist Emily Roberts.
Brian admitted the group – also made up of Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Georgia Davies, and Aurora Nishevci – “completely smashed it” at the show.
He wrote on Instagram: “I got to meet the new British Rock Royalty tonight – The Last Dinner Party – and they completely smashed it tonight at the Eventim Apollo. What a great show ! What a joy !!! Thanks Emily for inviting me. (sic)”
Brian also admitted the gig provided him with a “good old dose of rock tonic”, which was exactly what he “needed”.
He wrote: “That was just what I needed – a good ol’ dose of Rock Tonic. Folks, you have to see these guys. Bri (sic)”
It comes after The Last Dinner Party had to axe shows in Lincoln and Cardiff last month “due to a sudden illness within the band”, and they then cancelled four more tour dates – in Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, and Southampton, which were due to take place on October 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th respectively – due to “unforeseen illness”.
A post on the band’s official X page at the time read: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming headline tour dates in Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, and Southampton.
This is due to an unforeseen illness in the band and, following medical advice, we have to prioritise our health at this time.
“We are devastated not to be sharing these nights with you, and to have missed the shows in Lincoln and Cardiff. You should all know you’ve made this the most wonderful year of our lives and we can’t thank you enough for your love and support. Truly.”

Mariah Carey still hoping to release secret grunge album

OHMYGOSSIP — Mariah Carey is still hoping to release her secret grunge album which was recorded back in the 1990s.
The 55-year-old pop superstar moved away from her musical roots back in 1995 to put together an alternative record but it was never released and the singer has now admitted she’s “mad” it’s been buried for so many years.
During an appearance on ‘Las Culturistas’ podcast, host Matt Rogers asked the singer: “Can you drop that grunge album?” and Mariah replied: “I know, right? I’m so mad that I haven’t done that yet … but who do I drop it with?”
Rogers then suggested she should release it independently using “Garage Band or something, like, a grungy thing” and the singer added: “I could do that.”
She went on to say: “It’s a good album. OK, you will hear it. I was getting life from that, seriously. It was jokes, as well. They’re everlasting.”
Mariah previously opened up about the buried album in an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 in 2020 revealing music executives banned her from releasing it.
She said: “I got kind of in trouble for making this album – the alternative albu – because back then, everything was super-controlled by the powers that be.
“I never really was like, ‘Oh, we’re going to release it.’ But then I was like, I should release it. I should do it under an alias. Let people discover it and whatever, but that got squashed.”
The album -titled ‘Somebody’s Ugly Daughter’ – did get a release under the band name Chick with Mariah’s pal Clarissa Dane taking over lead vocals. Mariah’s singing was heard only as backing vocals and she was credited as D. Sue.
However, the original recordings with Mariah singing lead are believed to still exist.
The singer opened up about the project in her 2020 memoir ‘The Meaning of Mariah Carey’, writing: “I was playing with the style of the breezy-grunge, punk-light white female singers who were popular at the time.
“You know the ones who seemed to be so carefree with their feelings and their image. They could be angry, angsty, and messy, with old shoes, wrinkled slips, and unruly eyebrows, while every move I made was so calculated and manicured.
“I wanted to break free, let loose, and express my misery – but I also wanted to laugh.”

Dua Lipa ‘ramps it up’ for Royal Albert Hall show

OHMYGOSSIP — Dua Lipa is “going all out” for her gig at the Royal Albert Hall.
The ‘Training Season’ hitmaker is playing a one-off show in London on Thursday (17.10.24) before setting off on her Radical Optimism world tour next month and is set to wow the crowds with her debut performance at the famed venue.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Playing the Royal Albert Hall is a huge milestone for Dua and after her Glastonbury headline set, she will be going all out to impress.
“She will be extending the stage to fit in all of the musicians.
“If anyone thought the Royal Albert Hall show was going to be more pared back, they are in for a surprise because she has ramped it up a notch.
“Cameras are going to be following her too, so if you’re in the audience, make sure you’ve dressed to impress because you could see yourself on camera.”
Although she seeks to impress with her stage performances, Dua recently explained that she will never make her music overly personal and suggested that other artists are “ruthless” at exposing their private lives with their material.
In an interview with Anderson Cooper for ’60 Minutes’, the 29-year-old pop star said: “It’s something that I just naturally hold back.
“Some people are just so ruthless with their own private life that they decide to put it all out in a song because they know that it’s gonna attract people’s attention.”
The ‘Houdini’ singer continued: “For me, it was always important to make music that people really loved, not because I was putting someone out on blast.
“Not because I’m doing it for the clickbait at maybe someone else’s expense.”

Sam Ryder’s manager recruited to lead search for UK’s 2025 Eurovision entry

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Ryder’s team have been recruited to lead the search for the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest entry next year.
The 35-year-old singer gave the nation its best result in the annual competition for 24 years in 2022 as he finished runner-up with his song ‘Space Man’ and his manager David May has been tapped by the BBC in an attempt recreate the success as Britain has slipped back towards the bottom of the leaderboard in the subsequent years.
May – a leading figure in the music industry – is at the forefront of the search for a UK entry for next year’s contest that is being held in Basel, Switzerland and is said to be keen to get a “diverse” act to perform as it has been more than decade since a non-white artist represented Britain at the event.
A music insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “The UK has some of the best musical talent in the world and they are trawling that to find someone from a more diverse background who can put in a great performance.
“There is a key focus on finding a performer who can deliver a powerhouse vocal every time on stage. There is no room for a pitchy singer this time around.
“The song is very important too, so there are lots of things to consider. But David is throwing himself into the challenge.”
The BBC has confirmed that the identity of next year’s UK entry will be revealed before next March and David has expressed excitement at his involvement.
He said: ‘I’m excited to be working with BBC Studios and the BBC on this journey. We’re seeking talent and a song that embodies the essence of UK music.
“We want to collaborate with an authentic act who has a genuine, heartfelt story to tell, and an unmatched vocal tonality and range.
“Ultimately we’re looking for a powerful three-minute performance that resonates with and moves audiences across Europe and beyond.”

Coldplay to feature on FC Barcelona shirt in latest Spotify partnership

OHMYGOSSIP — Coldplay will feature on FC Barcelona’s shirt.
The ‘WE PRAY’ band have teamed up with the club’s sponsors Spotify to launch a brand new design featuring a logo inspired by their chart-topping new album ‘Moon Music’ that was released earlier this month.
Barcelona will wear the special shirts for the El Clasico match against Real Madrid on October 26 whilst the women’s team Barcelona Femeni will also be in the unique kit when they take on Eibar in Liga F on November 2.
The Catalan club and Coldplay have had a shared history for several years as the song ‘Viva La Vida’ became the team’s unofficial anthem during the Treble-winning 2008-09 season.
There will only be 1899 of the shirts available in honour of Barca’s founding year whilst there will also be 22 special glow-in-the-dark jerseys – 11 signed by the starting men’s team and the other 11 by starting players in the women’s side – with all net proceeds going to The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), which began a partnership with the La Liga club in 2022.
Coldplay are the latest band to sponsor Barcelona as the team have incorporated Drake and The Rolling Stones into their famous kits in previous years.
The group said in a statement: “We’re honoured that Spotify has chosen to feature our Moon Music design on the shirt of FC Barcelona. We’ve had a special relationship with the city and the club for many years. We’re also proud to support the UNHCR in their life-saving work to protect refugees and displaced people around the world. Heartfelt thanks to Spotify and FC Barcelona for making this happen.”
Juli Guiu, VP Marketing at FC Barcelona, said: “We are delighted that through our partnership with Spotify, that Coldplay will feature on the FC Barcelona shirt for El Clásico. The band and the club have a mutual love which stretches back many years from the band visiting training sessions, to Barça players watching Coldplay live in Barcelona over the years, to the band’s music soundtracking some of the club’s best moments.”

Colin Greenwood thinks Radiohead will have musical ‘freedom’ if a reunion happens

OHMYGOSSIP — Colin Greenwood believes Radiohead will have plenty of “freedom” should they reunite.
The ‘Creep’ rockers have been on hiatus since 2018 but the 55-year-old bassist has realised through conversations with Nick Cave that the band will be able to play whatever they like if they make a comeback.
Colin – who has been touring with Cave’s band the Bad Seeds – told NME: “I was talking to Nick about this too. He’s just such an amazing listener, and he was saying that Radiohead would be in a position to go and do whatever we wanted in terms of when we play, what we play and how we play.
“He was talking about Bob Dylan, who can just be on the road for two years or not at all and play all the hits or something different each night.
“You can put out a new album or you can do crazy projects. There’s a freedom that we have that we should appreciate. It’s not like we’ve reached a point where people are only interested in listening to something from the first three albums.
“I think we’re still a band where people might want to know what might happen next. We’re very lucky to have that.”
Colin recently revealed that Radiohead – which also features frontman Thom Yorke, his guitarist brother Jonny Greenwood, guitarist Ed O’Brien and drummer Philip Selway – had reunited for some rehearsals in the summer but is uncertain if it will lead to anything more.
He explained: “We got together in the summer just for a couple of days and just ran through all the songs and picked up where we left off in 2018. It was really fun and nice to see everyone.
“We were going to do three or four days but knocked it on the head after two because it was fine and we could still do it. My brother said that we’d just need a couple of weeks’ rehearsal and we could go on the road, no problem.
“Beyond that, everyone’s heads are focused on finishing up what they’ve been doing. My brother has been unwell (hospitalised with a serious infection) and is still recovering. Rehearsals were really fun and amicable, though.
“It was great, but beyond that get together, I’m sure we’ll get together and make plans – but for what, I don’t know.”

Courtney Love reveals she’s an unlikely fan of East 17

OHMYGOSSIP — Courtney Love is an unlikely fan of East 17.
The Hole rocker, 60, who had daughter Frances Bean, 32, with her late ex-husband Kurt Cobain, is renowned for her love of grunge, but reveals on the upcoming new series of music quiz show ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ she loved the boyband, most famous for their Christmas hit ‘Stay Another Day’.
She says in an episode of the long-running comedy panel series that will air on Wednesday (16.10.24) night while discussing rock with the group’s frontman Terry Coldwell, 50, she listens to their smash song every year.
Presenter Joel Dommett, 39, who also guests on the new show, said after Terry took to the stage: “To be fair, a great funeral song would be East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’.”
Courtney chipped in: “On my Christmas playlist every year.”
Terry replied to the 1990s rocker: “I saw you on YouTube, saying it was one of your favourite songs!”
Courtney responded: “I know someone – Bret – he’s friends with my actor friend. The guy from East 17 that manages bands… what’s his name?”
Along with Terry, East 17 was made up of Brian Harvey, 50, Tony Mortimer, 53, and John Hendy, also 53, and as well as ‘Stay Another Day’ had hits with tunes including ‘Steam’ and ‘Deep’.
Courtney also left her fellow guests baffled with a bizarre story about Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
She said about the 47-year-old singer and his band: “I went to see Coldplay at the National History Museum, and I love many things about Chris Martin.
“A – he’s a feminist in the best way. And B – I had to fake my way through a three-hour conversation on Muse. I faked it really good. That’s not the point.”
The new ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ series is on Sky Max and NOW.

Perrie Edwards reveals Little Mix was originally split into two groups

OHMYGOSSIP — Little Mix was originally split into two groups.
The foursome – made up of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson – soared to global fame after winning the 2011 series of ‘The X Factor’, but it’s now emerged judges were so confused about who to include in the final line-up they were put in separate groups.
Perrie, 31, told Radio 2’s ‘Tracks of My Years’ show about how they were finally put in one band as they were all 5ft 3in tall and judges thought they looked good together: “We were actually in two separate groups. Me and Jesy were in a group with two other girls, and Jade and Leigh-Anne were in a different group with another girl.
“They tried so many different formulas on the show. It just didn’t work. We all got No’s.
“Then they were like, ‘Actually can you four come back?’ They based it on our heights.
“They were like, ‘These four girls will work because they’re all the same height’.”
Perrie stressed about how she has no bitterness about how the band were put together by chance: “I’m so grateful. It changed our lives completely.”
Despite their huge fame and earnings, Little Mix was rocked by 33-year-old Jesy Nelson’s decision to quit the group in December 2020.
Leigh-Anne, 33, recently said the remaining three members of the band secretly sought therapy after Jesy’s abrupt exit.
She said in her autobiography ‘Believe’: “It was a complex and painful thing to come to terms with. We all felt it, that pain and sadness. “The whole thing felt like a weird break-up, and I wasn’t prepared for it.
“I wasn’t prepared for the intensity of those emotions.
“The whole thing was abrupt and sad and then it was messy, which made it even more painful.”
Before Jesy’s exit, Little Mix were inseparable for almost a decade, and became the biggest girl group since Spice Girls, selling millions of records and achieving five UK No1s.
At the time she quit, Jesy said she was struggling with her mental health and struggles with the pressures of fame.

Oasis ‘set to be supported by Richard Ashcroft and Cast on reunion tour’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis are reportedly set to be supported by Richard Ashcroft and Cast on their reunion tour.
The group’s frontman Liam Gallagher, 52, and his formerly estranged brother Noel, 57, are kicking off their UK, Ireland, US and Australia tour in 2025, and since the comeback gigs were announced speculation has been rife about whether they would recruit 1990s acts as warm-up acts.
A report in The Independent has now claimed indie group Cast will perform first before former The Verve frontman Richard, 53, takes to the stage ahead of Oasis at their comeback gigs.
Representatives for Oasis have declined to comment on the rumour, but it is understood support act confirmation is expected next week.
Richard has a long history with Oasis – and his wild 1990s antics were the inspiration behind Oasis’ 1995 song ‘Cast No Shadow’.
Cast supported Oasis at Knebworth in 1996 split in 2001 before they reformed in 2010, and their seventh album ‘Love is the Call’ came out in February.
Oasis are set to be supported on their North America shows by US rock band ‘Cage the Elephant’, but no support act for their shows in Australia has been announced.
Manic Street Preachers have also been rumoured as a possible back-up group for Oasis.
The report about Richard and Cast comes weeks after Liam teased Oasis fans on social media about the prospect of the former Verve frontman – as well as their old Britpop rivals Blur – and the Manic Street Preachers supporting the band on their reunion gigs.
Liam took to X earlier this month to respond to fans’ questions about the acts being lined up, and declared Richard’s involvement with the Oasis tour would be “Biblical”.
When a fan on X asked the singer if the ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ singer would be appearing on the tour, Liam replied: “That would be BIBLICAL”.
Responding to one fan suggesting Blur singer Damon Albarn, 56, and his band should open for them, Liam said about the group: “I love Blur and at sone point we have to do n old dears tours.”
He then added: “Richard Ashcroft or Manic street preachers as support”, before adding shortly after: “The Manics it is”.
Liam also said about Richard: “Only kidding we never set sail without the 1 and only RICARDO he’s our boy from day DOT come aboard Rkid.”

Rick Astley sank into depression after career went downhill in 1990s

OHMYGOSSIP — Rick Astley sank into depression after his pop career went downhill in the 1990s.
The ’80s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ singer, 58, has recently seen his popularity surge after he appeared at Glastonbury in 2023, but he has now reflected on how he hit a rough patch more than 20 years ago, when his career started to tank – and he had difficulties in his relationship with his partner of 35 years Lene Bausager.
Rick told the Daily Mirror about how they grew apart while he spent time away from their main home renovating a second house in London: “I spent so much time at the new house it was almost as if Lene and I had separated.”
He added he and Lene sought couples therapy and he did counselling to save their relationship.
Rick went on: “The therapy helped me switch the overthinking off and to see things in a different way… it really sorted me and Lene out.
“It didn’t fix anything exactly, but it gave me the tools to deal with stuff better.
“Gradually Lene and I managed to close the gap and get back onto something like an even keel.”
Rick’s wife Lene is now his manager, with the pair meeting when Rick left another woman for her at the peak of his fame.
His career resurgence also saw him appear in a Blossoms music video – based on the true headline-grabbing story of a huge fibreglass gorilla being stolen from a garden centre.
The band revealed details of the promo as they announced their highly anticipated fifth studio album ‘Gary’ was coming out – with the record named after the primate sculpture that inspired the video.
Blossoms singer Tom, 31, said: “The video is directed by myself and my brother Ewan Ogden and it picks up where our last video left off.
“The song is based on a true story I heard on the radio last year – Gary the 8-foot fibreglass Gorilla was stolen from Reynard Garden Centre in Carluke, Scotland.
“We’ve recreated the story on screen with Rick Astley playing Andrew Scott, the owner of the garden centre, and the band stealing Gary.
“This video was so much fun to make and was shot again on 16mm film, on location around Stockport, the Peak District, and Derbyshire.
“The song itself is the centrepiece of the album and after toying with different titles, we kept going back to Gary. In the end, it could only be ‘Gary’.”
The giant Gary primate statue was stolen from a Lanarkshire garden centre in 2023 before being reunited with its owner Andrew a year later.

Alexandra Burke plans to drop new album in 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — Alexandra Burke has promised a new album in 2025.
The ‘Bad Boys’ hitmaker – who shot to fame in 2008 after winning the fifth series of ‘The X Factor’ – has revealed she has recorded a 14-track collection, her first full studio effort since 2018’s ‘The Truth Is’, and it chronicles her journey to motherhood.
Appearing on UK TV show ‘This Morning’, she spilled: “I was listening to the album before I came on. There’s 14 tracks. I actually got up and I was dancing to it.”
Asked when she plans to drop the record, she replied: “Next year, I promise, I promise, next year, it’s gonna happen. I’m so excited to release music again.
“The way I feel about music is the same way I feel about acting.”
The 36-year-old star – who has two young children, whose names she has not revealed publicly, with her fiancé Darren Randolph – hopes fans will feel “uplifted” by the “feel-good” songs.
She continued: “I’m on a whole new journey. With this album, I started before [having] kids.
“So there’s songs in there that were in there that have been written before I even met Darren, and then that journey with meeting Darren, having two children, all of that blossoms in there as well.
“I want this album to uplift people, to make people feel positive and feel loved, and feel like they’re enough.”
She added: “It’s about keeping people encouraged in life,. We all need encouragement. We all need a bit of a push and I’m hoping that this album can provide it. If it’s just one tune, great but if it’s the whole album, even better.
“I just want people to feel good when they listen to it. That’s all that matters right now in life, right? You’ve got to feel good!”

Oasis add third Melbourne concert due to ‘phenomenal demand’

OHMYGOSSIP — Oasis have added a third Melbourne date to the Australian leg of their reunion tour “due to phenomenal demand”.
The reformed rockers are preparing to embark on a huge world tour next year – dubbed ‘Oasis Live ’25’ – marking their first live shows together since 2009 with concerts in their native UK and North America as well as Australia.
Their gigs in Melbourne and Sydney registered huge demand leading to the ‘Wonderwall’ hitmakers adding two more shows.
The band will now play five shows Down Under on October 31, November 1, and now November 4, at the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, before moving on to a pair of dates at the Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 7 and 8.
Tickets for the additional Melbourne date go on general sale on October 18.
A statement on the band’s social media pages read: “Due to phenomenal demand, a third and final Melbourne date has been added on Tuesday 4th November 2025. If you weren’t successful in the initial pre-sale ticket ballot, you might have another chance! General onsale this Friday 18 October.”
It comes after the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ group announced the first international dates for the ‘Oasis Live 25’ tour with tickets for shows in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City swiftly selling out.
The Britpop icons have already sold out 19 stadium shows across the UK and Ireland next summer.
Support acts are yet to be revealed for any of the gigs, but frontman Liam Gallagher has teased the idea of Richard Ashcroft and the Manic Street Preachers being part of the bill.
When a fan on X – formerly known as Twitter – asked the singer if The Verve star would be appearing on the tour, Liam replied: “That would be BIBLICAL”. He then added: “Richard Ashcroft or Manic Street Preachers as support”, before adding shortly after: “The Manics it is”.

Guy discussed their conscious decision to avoid composing songs about the world’s “troubling” issues for their more optimistic record.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, he said: “We live in a troubling age. And I started writing my feelings on many issues, but I thought, not only do I not want to finish this, but I also don’t want to listen to it.
“Everybody’s on the same page in terms of fear and division and whatever side of whatever argument you’re on, everyone’s frightened and angry. The album is distracting from, rather than reflecting all the things that everybody is worried about.”
The 50-year-old vocalist also humorously noted that touring has become more challenging now that he’s in his fifties.
He quipped: “Controlling my booze consumption worries me far more than the performances. And also sleeping on tour buses with our 50-year-old bodies — I might need a back crack after a few days.
“No, we are buzzing. These are really exciting songs and we can’t wait to play them live. We haven’t played for a year and a half, so playing the old stuff, will be something too. We just can’t wait.”
