Jennifer Hudson feels ‘most connected’ to her Christmas album

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Hudson admits her new Christmas LP is the record she feels “the most connected to out of all my albums”.
The ‘American Idol’ alum just dropped the Yuletide collection ‘The Gift of Love’, and even though it mostly features covers of Xmas classics, the 43-year-old singer says some of the songs are deeply personal to her and her family.
She told GRAMMY.com: “I feel the most connected to this album out of all my albums, and very much for those reasons. It reflects me in some way. Obviously with covers, we don’t write them, we sing them, but they’re connected to my family traditions.
“My grandmother used to love ‘The Christmas Song’ and I remember her saying, ‘The man with the satin voice,’ about Nat King Cole, so that inspired me to do that song. And ‘Drummer Boy,’ the way we approached it I’m showing you my roots of where I came from musically.
“So in this album, whether it’s musically or lyrically, my story shows up. Even with ‘O Holy Night,’ I would make a different arrangement every year and pass it out to my family, so that had to be on there. But this year, I get to give my family a whole album instead of just one song.”
The ‘Dreamgirls’ star teased she has a special episode dedicated to the album planned for her eponymous-titled daytime talk show, as well as her ‘The Gift of Love: An Intimate Live Experience’ tour.
She said: “This is gonna be the biggest Christmas ever. I can’t wait, I’m so excited. I’m planning a special episode dedicated to the album as we speak. We’re gonna do some of the music from it, kind of like a listening party, but it’ll be like coming to my house for the holidays. Same goes for my holiday tour this year as well, it’ll be a very intimate experience. We’re gonna have a holiday, musical good time.”

Ian Broudie still hasn’t written the perfect song

OHMYGOSSIP — Ian Broudie still hasn’t written a song he is “totally happy” with.
The Lightning Seeds frontman has enjoyed a long and successful career and has tried to stop worrying it will all come to an end, because there’s always something that continues to spur him on.
He told Big Issue magazine: “It never ends, but sometimes you worry it will.
“So I’d tell my younger self not to worry that you won’t think of another song or write another lyric or want to play another gig.
“I still haven’t quite made the record I have always been trying to.
“And I’m still trying to write a song that I will be totally happy with. So in a way everything’s changed and nothing’s changed.
“But you’re a lucky b******, that’s what I’d say to my younger self. I have been doing what I love since I was 16.”
The 66-year-old musician is now joined in his band by son Riley and he admitted having the guitarist on board has given the group a “new chapter”.
He said: “To be working with him and in each other’s lives that much is a very beautiful thing for me.
“Being with him as he experiences big highs like playing Glastonbury last year has been very special.
“I’d lost focus on The Lightning Seeds, but having Riley involved has given us a new chapter.”
Lightning Seeds are now best known for their England football song ‘Three Lions’ – for which Ian teamed up with comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner – and while Ian wishes his legacy was another of the group’s tracks, he also finds the sporting anthem an appropriate association.
He explained: “It’s quite fitting that I will be remembered for ‘Three Lions’.
“When I was in Big in Japan, I had this instrumental track that went on an album called ‘Street to Street’ – which was a very early Liverpool indie compilation – and it was called ‘Match of the Day’ because it didn’t have a title but I figured it would sound good on ‘Match of the Day’.
“Years later, my song ‘Life of Riley’ – which is written about my son Riley – was suddenly on ‘Match of the Day’ and being played all the time.
“So some ways, it’s probably fitting that a football song, ‘Three Lions’, is the song I will be remembered for.
“But I’d rather be remembered for ‘Pure’.”

Nikki Sixx: ‘Music fans today are not as in love with the artist’

OHMYGOSSIP — Nikki Sixx feels music fans today “are not as in love with the artist”.
The Mötley Crüe bassist, 65, believes that young people are all about the music and not the person making the art, revealing his five-year-old daughter Ruby – whom he has with third wife Courtney Bingham – is crazy about pop star Dua Lipa’s hit song ‘Dance The Night’ but doesn’t “know anything” about the 29-year-old singer.
He told the latest issue of Classic Rock magazine: “My kids are, let me see… 33, 30, 28 and 22. As well I have a five-year-old daughter. So I’m listening to everything from turning my oldest son on to the Sex Pistols and him being turned on to stuff like Prince and Led Zeppelin and all kinds of new wave stuff, all the way down to my [youngest] who I’m listening to Dua Lipa and Dance The Night with every day. And I’m seeing the same reaction from a five-year-old to when my [eldest] son was young. It’s just a different way of consuming it. My daughter doesn’t know anything about Dua Lipa other than she likes the song.
I don’t know what it’s like to be a brand new band and feel somewhat one-dimensional. Okay, I make music, but fans don’t know everything about the lead singer or how the band got together. They’re not as in love with the artist.”
Nikki is father to Gunner, 33, Storm, 30, and Decker, 28, whom he has with first wife Brandi Brant, as well as Frankie-Jean, 22, with second wife Donna D’Errico.
The ‘Girls Girls Girls’ hitmakers released their first new music for five years, the EP ‘Cancelled’, this month, the first with new guitarist John 5 following the departure of Mick Mars in 2022.
And Nikki admitted the band will “go at our own pace” when it comes to releasing new music and refuse to put any old thing out just to keep up with the fast-paced streaming market.
He said: “You’ve got to follow the creativity, and the creativity has to follow inspiration. If you’re trying to do something you’re not inspired by, the audience can smell it and feel it. Following the creativity is also a way of throwing yourself into your addiction, whether it’s songwriting or creating stage shows or artwork, merchandise, it’s all part of it. But we just go at our own pace.”

Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS tour regret

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Rodrigo was terrified on the opening night of her ‘GUTS’ world tour.
The 21-year-old singer admitted to moments of doubt just before she took to the stage, where she told herself she should have rehearsed more.
She told PEOPLE: “I was like, ‘I should have rehearsed more… like I needed three more weeks to rehearse this thing. But I was like, ‘Oh well, I’m gonna go on.'”
However, following a successful first performance, she shared the celebrations with her family and friends.
She said: “I remember coming off stage and my mom, my dad, and all my friends were there to support me and just cheering. We popped champagne. And it was such a beautiful moment. I’ll remember it forever.”
She also revealed how terrified she was to play the piano on stage during the early shows.
Olivia said: “I was so scared that I was going to mess up. And in the last ones, I feel like could really, like, sit into it and just enjoy myself.”
Olivia has joined forces with Netflix for the ‘Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour’ documentary, which will be released next week and she can’t wait to share the ups and downs of the experience with fans.
She previously said: “I am so excited to share the ‘GUTS world tour with my fans. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to rock out in-person, now you can have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed, and danced with me, I am so glad we get to do it all over again!”

Rita Ora ‘over the moon’ to be fronting 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Rita Ora is “over the moon” to have been named host of the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.
The singer, 33, will be fronting the ceremony – set to be held at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena on 10 November – for her third time, with the announcement coming after rumours swirled she would be its main presenter.
There has also been reports Rita is due to take the opportunity to pay tribute to her tragic late friend Liam Payne, who died aged 31 on 16 October when he fell to his death from the balcony in his suite at a hotel in Buenos Aires.
The singer said in a video shared on MTV EMA’s official Instagram page confirming the news she is the event’s 2024 host: “I am this year’s MTV EMA’s host. I can’t wait to see you there.
“I’m over the moon that I get to be back with my MTV family hosting the EMAs for the third time.
“The EMAs stage has become like another home for me, and this year’s show in Manchester is going to be absolutely incredible!
“We’ve got an amazing lineup of music performances and plenty of surprises in store.”
Giving a nod to the Oasis reunion coming up in 2025, Rita added: “We’re all ‘mad fer it!’”
Bruce Gillmer, president of Paramount and Chief Content Officer of Paramount+, said about the event: “The MTV EMAs are taking over Manchester and we can’t think of a better way to supersize this global music event than by bringing back fan favourite Rita Ora.
“Rita’s infectious energy and talent are undeniable, and we’re absolutely certain she will elevate the show to new highs for fans around the world.”
Rita and the EMAs have reportedly been working on a tribute to Liam, which could range from a musical tribute or an in memoriam montage or both.
A source told The Sun before Rita’s Instagram announcement: “In the coming days they will start drawing up official plans.
“Officially Rita is yet to be announced, but she is hosting this year’s awards and will be involved in whatever MTV decides to do.
“She and Liam have been close for years and grew in the industry together. Obviously, she is devastated by his passing.”

Rihanna wants to collaborate with Billie Eilish

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna wants to collaborate with Billie Eilish.
The ‘Work’ singer – who hasn’t released a song since 2022’s ‘Lift Me Up’ from the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack – praised the ‘What Was I Made For?’ hitmaker as being “so good” and admitted she’s top of the list of people she’d like to record with.
Asked who her dream collaboration would be with, Rihanna told ‘Access Hollywood’: “If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish. Mm-mm, she’s so good.”
And Billie was thrilled with the endorsement from the 36-year-old star.
She shared the video clip on her Instagram Story and wrote: “What in the absolute f*** oh my god what the f***.”
The 22-year-old singer has repeatedly praised Rihanna over the last few years.
Last year, she told Vogue magazine she thought the ‘Diamonds’ hitmaker was the “hottest person to ever exist in the history of the world.”
And in 2019, she singled out Rihanna as the one celebrity she’d like to meet.
She added: “But, like, only if she wanted to. Because my entire life, I’ve never even wanted to meet my idols because I never wanted to bother them.”
She went on to admit she would “die a million times” over the idea of a collaboration.
But she added: “Only if she would want to.”
Earlier this year, Rihanna admitted she was “starting over” with her long-awaited new album, which would be her first since 2016’s ‘Anti’.
She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start – give me a second!
“Yeah, I’m starting over. But I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”

Stevie Nicks recalls intense reunion with Lindsey Buckingham after giving him ‘300 million chances’

OHMYGOSSIP — Stevie Nicks could only cope with “about three minutes” of being in the presence of former bandmate Lindsey Buckingham.
The Fleetwood Mac frontwoman, 76, and the 75-year-old fired guitarist briefly reunited last year at the late Christine McVie’s funeral, and not only did they have an awkward reunion, but she believes the group’s late keyboard player – who died at the age of 79 after suffering a stroke in November 2022 – was playing with the weather beyond the grave as they experienced a hurricane that made for a “really intense” atmosphere at the celebration of life.
In a lengthy interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Stevie recalled: “Christine threw down a hurricane on top of Nobu, which is where we had it.
“Almost blew the whole place away, honest to God. Tore down the entire deck that was all decorated and everything. So it was kind of crazy. We all felt like she was there, because it was really intense.”
Stevie admits she gave Lindsey – who was replaced by Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House after being ousted once again from the legendary group in 2018 – “more than 300 million chances” to change his ways.
She continued: “The only time I’ve spoken to Lindsey was there, for about three minutes. I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”
The firing came after an alleged altercation between the former couple at the MusicCares benefit in 2018.
The ‘Dreams’ hitmaker claimed Lindsey “wasn’t very nice” to “anybody”, including her pop star friend Harry Styles, and it was actually her parents who persuaded her to send him on his way.
The ‘Go Your Own Way’ hitmaker recalled: “I think that all just happened the way it should have.
“It happened one night, not planned, at a MusiCares [benefit concert]. I didn’t even tell anybody it had happened in my head until the whole ceremony was over. I took with me that night a song that I had done with LeAnn Rimes called ‘Borrowed.’ I took it with me to play for him because I thought we could do this song beautifully.
“That’s when he wasn’t very nice to anybody; he wasn’t very nice to Harry Styles.
“I could hear my mom saying, ‘Are you really going to spend the next 15 years of your life with this man?’ I could hear my very pragmatic father — and by the way, my mom and dad liked Lindsey a lot — saying, ‘It’s time for you guys to get a divorce.’ Between those two, I said, ‘I’m done.’”
Despite being at war over the years, Stevie says Lindsey – who suffered a heart attack in 2019 – will always been an “icon” and she wishes him well.
She added: “I hope he lives a long life and continues to go into a studio and work with other people.
“He’s also an icon, and he can teach people. He’s not stopped in his tracks. He can still make music and have fun.”
Stevie also reiterated that there are no plans for Fleetwood Mac – which also included drummer Mick Fleetwood, 77, and bassist John McVie, 78 – to reunite following the loss of Christine.
She said: “We had lots and lots of time, and lots and lots of tours that could have been the reconciliation tour and ‘now we’re going to quit’ tour. So, I just felt that Christine and I had done everything we could do to make it a happy place. And it wasn’t a happy place anymore.”

Kate Bush planning to make first new album in more than a decade

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Bush is “very keen” to make a new album.
The ‘Wuthering Heights’ hitmaker, 66, hasn’t put out a record for more than a decade, the last being 2011’s ’50 Words For Snow’, but she has “lots of ideas” and can’t wait to get back into the studio.
Speaking to Emma Barnett on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, she spilled: “I’m very keen to start working on a new album.
“I’ve got lots of ideas. I’m really looking forward to getting back into that creative space. It’s been a long time.”
Despite her desire to make new tunes, Kate – who has released 10 studio album since 1978 – is not ready to return to the stage, noting she is “not there yet”.
Kate has always ensured each release is “different” from the last, so maybe she could be persuaded to take up Damon Albarn’s offer to record something for his animated band Gorillaz.
The Blur star, 56, previously said he hopes the ‘Feel Good Inc’ hitmakers – which he launched with artist Jamie Hewlett in 1998 – can get Kate on one of their songs after working with the likes of Sir Elton John and Lou Reed in the past.
He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “Well, Kate Bush, that would be wonderful.
“I’ve never formally asked, but sometimes it’s better to drop hints and hope for a reaction. But it’s almost impossible to get her out of her world.”
Although Damon isn’t sure if the hermit singer would be interested, he joked he could have a way to find out as they live in the same county in England.
He added: “I actually know where she lives because we are neighbours in Devon.
“If I want, I could go to her place by foot. Maybe one stormy night I’ll risk knocking on her door.”
In 2022, Kate’s 1985 single ‘Running Up That Hill’ reached number one in the UK and saw the star enjoy a massive resurgence after it played a key role in the fourth season of Netflix hit ‘Stranger Things’, with the tune going on to rack up more than a billion streams.

Lady Gaga reportedly forced to delay her world tour until 2026

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga has reportedly decided to delay her world tour until 2026.
The 38-year-old pop superstar has just dropped the lead single, ‘Disease’, from her hotly anticipated seventh studio album, but fans hoping to see the ‘Born This Way’ singer live in 2025 have been dealt a blow.
Due to huge names, including Oasis and Coldplay, booking up multiple dates at stadiums across the UK, there are said to be no spaces available for Gaga – whose last tour was the ‘Chromatica Ball’ in 2022 – forcing her to push back the run by a year.
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Lady Gaga is planning the biggest tour of her career — but it will have to wait.
“She sold out two nights at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during her 20-date Chromatica Ball tour in 2022 and the demand was so huge, she wants to push the boat out even more this time.
“Her next album will be out in the new year and she hoped to spend much of the summer on tour.
“But acts like Oasis and Coldplay have thwarted it.
“She has been told there’s no room at the inn, so she will have to make do with touring in 2026 instead.
“That won’t be music to the ears of her fans but at least it will give them time to save for tickets.”
Appearing on the ‘Smallzy’s Surgery’ podcast recently, Gaga teased she was planning some concerts.
She said: “All I can tell you is that I’ve just been feeling so creative, and really connected to music and I’ve been working on so much music. I’m really excited to play it for the fans.”
‘Disease’ follows Gaga’s hit collaboration with Bruno Mars, ‘Die With A Smile’, and her starring role as Harleen “Lee” Quinzel in ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ alongside Joaquin Phoenix and her companion album ‘Harlequin’.

Primal Scream set dates for 2025 UK and Ireland tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Primal Scream are embarking on ‘The Come Ahead Tour’ in spring 2025.
Bobby Gillespie and co will play 14 dates across the UK and Ireland in March and April next year in support of their upcoming 12th studio album of the same name, which lands on November 8.
It marks their first jaunt since 2022’s ‘Screamadelica Live’ run and will see them play venues in Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, and London.
Alongside news of the tour, which will see the Scottish rockers supported by Fat White Family and Baxter Dury on select dates and more special guests, yet to be announced, they have shared the remix of ‘Love Insurrection’ by UK deep house pioneers Black Science Orchestra.
Frontman Bobby, 63, had feared he wouldn’t release another Primal Scream record, but in 2022, lyrical ideas started pouring out of him and it promises to be his most personal collection to date.
He said in a statement: “I’m very excited about this album in a way that you would be making your first record. If there was an overall theme to Come Ahead it might be one of conflict, whether inner or outer.
“There is also a thread of compassion running through the album. The title is a Glaswegian term. If someone threatens to fight you, you say, ‘come ahead!’ It’s redolent of the indomitable spirit of the Glaswegian, and the album itself shares that aggressive attitude and confidence. They have a word for this up there, gallus. ‘Come Ahead’ is quite a cheeky title too.”
This month saw Primal Scream perform as special guests to Alice Cooper at a series of gigs across the UK.
They will also play a major festival performance at Corona Capital in Mexico City next month.
Tickets for the 2025 tour are on sale from November 1. Fans who pre-order ‘Come Ahead’ from the official artist store will receive access to an exclusive fan pre-sale taking place from 10am on October 30.
The album is released physically on double vinyl and CD with a limited mirrorboard gatefold double silver vinyl available at HMV and indie stores, plus a limited mirrorboard gatefold double red vinyl and an exclusive t-shirt available on the official album store at https://primalscream.lnk.to/StorePR.

Raven Numan drops brooding new single In Your Head

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Numan’s daughter Raven Numan has shared her brooding new single, ‘In Your Head’.
The ‘Cars’ hitmakers’ 20-year-old daughter has dropped the pulsating industrial-laced goth rock tune – just in time for Halloween.
Raven’s brooding new song – which has arrived alongside a dark and twisted music video – is about being obsessed with someone she “can’t have”.
She said in a statement: “I wrote ‘In Your Head’ about three years ago, it’s somewhat directed towards someone I’ve known for quite a few years but have only met a few times. It’s about intense feelings of obsession for someone who’s out of reach. I found myself replaying every moment, feeling an overwhelming desire to know them more deeply. My thoughts were consumed by fantasies of what could be, creating a tension between my longing and the reality of our brief interactions. This song reflects my struggle with the powerful emotions that come from wanting someone I can’t have. Psychotic, I know, but we all are at times, especially when we want something bad enough.”
Raven – who is the eldest of Gary’s three girls with his wife Gemma, with whom he also has Persia, 19, and Echo, 17 – released her debut single ‘My Reflection’ earlier this year and has released a slew of singles since.
Previous track ‘Overwhelming’ explored her experience of “growing up with a famous parent”.
She explained: “‘Overwhelming’ is somewhat self-explanatory. It’s about being overwhelmed with everyone and everything, it’s also about growing up with a famous parent and how it’s affected me personally.
“My parents are incredible; they’ve done absolutely everything and more for me and I love them endlessly – but a big part of their job is going on tour for long periods of time and that has quite obviously affected me negatively.”
Raven believes that her dad’s fame and success led her to “develop borderline personality disorder”.
She added: “The song is partially about that; how my parents going on tour as a child caused me to develop quite a lot of issues.
“It caused me to develop borderline personality disorder, which involves the constant fear of being abandoned, severe mood swings, anxiety and it has also caused extreme social anxiety.”
Raven admitted that she struggled to cope with the situation during her younger years.
She explained: “The loudness of this lifestyle, the shows, my dad’s fame, the unpredictability, the fans, the unnecessary hate all because I was born caused so much stress and it was a lot for me to handle.
“It’s about totally shutting down and disassociating because everything was very overwhelming.”

BLACKPINK’s Lisa eyes Doja Cat collaboration

OHMYGOSSIP — BLACKPINK’s Lisa is eyeing a collaboration with Doja Cat.
The 27-year-old K-pop star has revealed the ‘Agora Hills’ rapper, 29, is at the top of her big wish-list of artists to record a duet with.
Asked who she’d like to collaborate with on Audacy, she said: “But for now that I can think of, Doja Cat. I love her,.
“Doja Cat, for sure, is my next goal.”
This summer, Lisa joined forces with Spanish pop star Rosalía, 32, on the track ‘New Woman’ – and was in awe witnessing her at work.
She gushed: “She’s amazing, she’s a professional, like every single take, that like action, she’s just doing her thing.
“She just maintains her identity with her music, with her art and everything. So, yeah, I wanted to be someone like her that can maintain my identity.”
Speaking of collaborations, Lisa’s bandmate ROSÉ has just teamed up with Bruno Mars on the hit single ‘APT.’
The song is named after a South Korean drinking game and saw Lisa plant a kiss on Bruno’s cheek in the playful promo.
The track is the lead single from ROSÉ’s eagerly awaited debut solo album, ‘rosie’, which lands on December 6.
Meanwhile, Lisa – who just made her solo debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, performing ‘Rockstar’ and recent tune ‘Moonlit Floor’ – recently reassured BLACKPINK’s fans that they are here to stay.
The singer might have launched her own artist management firm, LLOUD, and have a solo album in the pipeline, but she insists she and her bandmates in the K-pop girl group – Jennie, 23, ROSÉ, 27, and Jisoo, 29 – have no plans to call it quits.
She told ELLE US: “Of course, we’re continuing, for sure. We’re so proud of Blackpink, and I love Blackpink. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves. There was no doubt. This is our life.”

Justin Timberlake reschedules six concerts due to ‘bronchitis and laryngitis’

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Timberlake has rescheduled six dates of his ‘Forget Tomorrow’ North American tour after coming down with “bronchitis and laryngitis”.
The ‘SexyBack’ singer has been forced to postpone the concerts in Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Columbus, which were due to take place between October 23 through November 2, and has given new dates for February 2025.
Apologising to fans, he said in a social media statement: “Hey guys – I haven’t been feeling great the last few shows and turns out I have bronchitis and laryngitis. I’m so sorry to say I do need to reschedule the next few shows from 10/23 through 11/2. New dates listed above. Thank you for understanding – I’ll make it up to you.”
He will now head to Chicago on February 14, Grand Rapids, on February 18, Detroit on February 20, Milwaukee on February 22, St Paul on February 24, before wrapping up in Columbus on February 27.
Earlier this month, the ‘Cry Me A River’ hitmaker cancelled a concert in New Jersey just an hour before he was due onstage – due to an “injury” that was “preventing him” from performing.
The concert planned for October 8 at the Prudential Center ended up taking place days later on October 15.
He wrote at the time: “I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show.
“I have an injury that is preventing me from performing.
“I’m so disappointed not to see you all, but I’m working to reschedule ASAP.
“I promise to make it up to you and give you the show ya’ll deserve. Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always.”
The 43-year-old singer pleaded guilty to a traffic violation and driving while ability impaired last month, three months after he was arrested for allegedly running a stop sign and swerving between lanes in Sag Harbor, New York.
He was ordered to pay a $500 fine with a $260 surcharge and serve 25 hours of community service at a non-profit of his choosing.
Justin admitted it was a “mistake” to get behind the wheel after one drink and warned others not to do so.
He said: “Even if you’ve had one drink, don’t get behind the wheel of a car. There are so many alternatives. You can call a friend [or] take an Uber.
“This is a mistake that I made, but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake. I know that I certainly have.”

Justin Timberlake’s rescheduled tour dates:
February 14 – Chicago, IL – United Center
February 18 – Grand Rapids, MI – Van Andel Arena
February 20 – Detroit, MI – Little Caesars Arena
February 22 – Milwaukee, WI – Fiserv Forum
February 24 – St. Paul, MN – XCEL Energy Center

Olly Alexander surprised by how ‘political’ Eurovision is

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander admits he was shocked by the “drama and scandal” surrounding ‘Eurovision’.
The 34-year-old singer-and-actor represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, with his song ‘Dizzy’, which finished in 18th place, and he has admitted he had no idea just how “political” the show, which claims to be “apolitical”, was.
Speaking on this week’s episode of BBC Sounds podcast ‘Sidetracked’, for which he stepped in for co-host Annie Mac, Olly said: “There was so much drama and scandal in the week leading up to it, it was just really mad.”
Asked by host Nick Grimshaw if the politics made it less fun, he replied: “That definitely took the focus. To be honest, Eurovision tries to be apolitical, but it’s actually been political for a long time, maybe always.
“And maybe trying to be apolitical is itself a political act. I don’t know. No one could have expected that, but I definitely had not realised how political Eurovision was and how political it has always been.”
A series of protests took place after Israel was allowed compete despite the country’s ongoing war on Gaza.
Ireland’s act Bambie Thug was forced to remove the words “freedom for Palestine” and “ceasefire” from their costume.
Israel, who were represented by Eden Golan, were also forced to make changes to their song’s lyrics, and the title was changed to ‘Hurricane’.
The singer was also booed during the Grand Final.
What’s more, Netherlands act Joost was disqualified after an allegation of intimidation was made to the police by a female member of production crew following a rehearsal.
Despite the contest being drowned in controversy, Olly admits it was a “life-changing” experience that he is still “processing”.
He added: “It was still the most life-changing amazing experience, it really, really was. All the stuff I learned. It’s just mad, I will still be processing it for a while.”
