Hailey Bieber avoiding anything ‘physically, mentally and emotionally’ draining since giving birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber is avoiding doing any work that is “physically, mentally and emotionally” draining since having her first child.
The Rhode beauty founder gave birth to her and 30-year-old pop star husband Justin Bieber’s baby boy, Jack Blues, in August, and the 27-year-old model admitted she is easing herself back into work.
In her first interview since becoming a mom, Hailey told WWD: “I’m only doing what feels comfortable for me physically, mentally and emotionally.”
The trendsetter’s latest move with the popular brand was to hire 90s supermodel Claudia Schiffer as the new face of Rhode in a bid to “transcend generations”.
Hailey enlisted the 54-year-old supermodel to star in the promo for her latest skincare product Barrier Butter – an intensive night time moisturising balm – and Hailey had actually been keen to work with Claudia for a long time.
She told the outlet: “I really wanted to use someone who transcended several different generations and demographics.
“When I think of Claudia, the iconicness [sic] is just immediate, plus her reach and impact on so many different age groups. She’s somebody that I’m a big, big fan of.
“I’ve been inspired by her as a model and her imagery has been on several of our Rhode mood boards since we started.”
Hailey didn’t mention her baby boy in the interview, but a source recently said that Justin and Hailey are “over the moon” to be parents.
The insider told Us Weekly: “It’s total bliss for the two of them.”
Hailey is “enjoying and savouring these moments being a new mom.”
They added: “She is over the moon and in mom zone, and completely focused on the health of the baby.”

The 31-year-old singer died on Wednesday (16.10.24) after falling from the balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires and his former collaborators have reflected on their fond memories with the star.
Sandy Beales, who played bass for the band, wrote on Instagram: “Words won’t ever fully do you justice but thank you. For everything.
“Always so full of life and always up for a laugh, insanely talented and charismatic on stage, it was a pleasure and an honour to stand up there with you.
“It felt like we all grew up together on the road, even when theatres turned in to stadiums you and the lads would still have time for everyone in the crew and we felt the love on that wild, crazy, life changing ride.
“It’s hard to think that there won’t be a chance to reminisce on those crazy times. Huge love and strength to Liam’s family and the 1D boys at this horrific time. We are all thinking of you!”
Jon Shone, a keyboardist who was also musical director for the ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ hitmakers thanked Liam for the time they had spent together.
He wrote on Instagram: “It is always difficult to put into words the feelings in your heart when you loose someone that you shared such amazing memories with.
“So I want to say thank you. Thank you for the wonderful memories of being in this band with you, for the nights I got to play your music, to the nights we sat with a beer talking about how crazy the whole thing was.
“My heart goes out to the whole family, the wider 1D family, and everyone who knew Liam.
“I hope your mind is now calm and that you can sing the songs you love in peace and serenity in the paradise of heaven. Love always.”

His talent and professionalism had a big impact on the band especially in the early days as Liam always strived for the best during all of our sessions.
“Liam was fun and a joy to spend time with, he even re named some of my vocal exercises as he had such a wonderful sense of humour and upbeat energy. I will always remember Liam as a polite young man who was caring and kind.
“Whenever my son Cai would join the world tours Liam would invite him along on his tourbus, sit and play video games with him, make sure he was OK, such a person was Liam, warm and friendly.
“Thank you for all the wonderful years dear Liam, you will forever be in my heart and your voice will live on, not only in my memories but also in the incredible songs. Rest in peace sweet darling.”

Ice-T insists ‘controversy’ is not a way to make money

OHMYGOSSIP — Ice-T has insisted that “controversy” is not a way to make money.
The 66-year-old rapper – whose real name is Tracy Lauren Marrow – caused a stir in 1992 when he and his band Body Count released the track ‘Cop Killer’ but while the furore created “a lot of buzz” when it was decided that it was all an attack on the police, he has insisted that the move was not particularly lucrative.
Responding to a fan’s question in The Guardian, he said: “I never really questioned myself, but the heat came when they started sending bomb threats to [our record label at] Warner Bros. I threw the rock, that’s my heat. But when other people could get hurt, that’s nerve-racking. But I got news for people: anybody who thinks controversy is a way to make money, it’s not. You get a lot of buzz, but now you need lawyers. So don’t just say something stupid and then back-pedal – if you’re going to say something, stand on it.”
The ‘I’m Your Pusher’ hitmaker was the founding member of the heavy metal band and when a fan pointed out that, as a black man, that was a groundbreaking thing to do at the time, he never “really cared” about that angle of it and just followed his musical ambitions.
He said: “I didn’t really care, I was just trying to do me. Of course, yes, it feels good to see the genre merge and change, but that wasn’t my agenda. My agenda was simple: to play in a band with [guitarist] Ernie C. Touring in Europe with Public Enemy, I’d noticed the kids would mosh off of fast rap and that’s what sparked the idea to do Body Count, to do a fast rock band. It wasn’t like, ‘Let’s get black people in.’ It was just … I’m going to do this s***.”

Al Pacino ‘haunted’ by childhood injury

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino is still “haunted” by a childhood injury to his penis.
The 84-year-old actor was around 10 years old when he went through “one of the most embarrassing experiences” of his life and still feels “squeamish” to tell the tale now.
He wrote in his memoir ‘Sonny Boy’ in an extract obtained by People magazine: “I seemed to cheat death on a regular basis.
“I was like a cat with many more than nine lives. I had more mishaps and accidents than I can count.”
Recalling the uncomfortable incident, he wrote: “I was walking on a thin, iron fence, doing my tightrope dance. It had been raining all morning, and sure enough, I slipped and fell, and the iron bar hit me directly between my legs.
“I was in such pain that I could hardly walk home. An older guy saw me groaning in the street, picked me up, and carried me [to an aunt’s apartment].”
Once he got to his aunt’s home, Al and his family waited for the doctor to arrive.
He wrote: “I lay there on the bed, with my pants completely down around my ankles as the three women in my life — my mother, my aunt, and my grandmother — poked and prodded at my penis in a semipanic.
“I thought, God, please take me now, as I heard them whispering things to one another as they conducted their inspection.
“[My penis] remained attached, along with the trauma. To this day I’m haunted by the thought of it.”
The ‘Scarface’ actor recently explained he felt he was “due” to write a memoir.
He told People magazine: “It was due. I’m in my 85th year. When you get there and you start experiencing age, you understand why they do put things down.
“At least according to me, I’ve had quite a big life.”

Liam Payne’s preliminary autopsy finds ‘multiple traumas’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne died from “multiple traumas” that caused “internal and external bleeding”.
The 31-year-old singer died on Wednesday (16.10.24) after falling from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, and preliminary autopsy findings reported by the Daily Mirror newspaper found the result was consistent with his 10-metre fall.
Toxological and anatomical-pathologicial studies of blood and urine are being undertaken to determine any traces of drugs.
Police found a bottle of whiskey, a lighter, and a white powder in the room, as well as medications including clonazepam – which is used to treat epilepsy, panic disorders or involuntary muscle spasms – and energy pills.
A notebook and Liam’s passport were seized and handed over to investigators, as well as phone that may have belonged to the former One Direction star and will be checked for messages.
Police described “total disorder” in the room, with various things broken.
They earlier said they had been called to reports of an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.
Emergency services previously said Liam had died instantly.
Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti told The Sun: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
“Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
Audio from the two calls made by the hotel’s head of reception to emergency services has also circulated online, with the employee admitting staff were “worried” a guest would put their life at risk.
In the first call, he said: “We have a guest drunk with drugs and alcohol. When he [them, gender not clear in conversation] is conscious, he is breaking everything in the room…
“We have a guest who is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”
After the line went dead, he called back and said: “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger.
“They must be in a room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little bit worried he’ll do something, that he’ll put his life at risk.”
Liam’s body was found in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time.
TMZ.com reported witnesses stated Liam had been “acting erratic” in the lobby of the hotel with the outlet publishing statements suggesting the singer had smashed his laptop and had to be taken back to his room.

Raven-Symone confirms That’s So Raven bosses tried to make her ‘thinner’ on show

OHMYGOSSIP — Raven-Symone has confirmed ‘That’s So Raven’ producers tried to make her “look thinner” on the show.
The former Disney Channel star rose to fame as Raven Baxter in the early 00s sitcom, having first landed the role at 15 and stayed on the show for four years until its end in 2007.
In Ashley Spencer’s new book ‘Disney High: The Untold Story of the Rise and Fall of Disney Channel’s Tween Empire’, sources claimed show bosses told the visual effects team to make her thinner in the closing scene of an episode about body positivity.
Asked of the claims of CGI were true, Raven told E! News: “I love that you said CGI, this was before CGI! This is where they would take the film stretch it.
“Yeah, there were conversations that I do remember, that would make me look thinner.”
The season two episode ‘That’s So Not Raven’ saw another model picked for a runway show over Raven because of her slimmer frame.
The episode saw the character Raven try a range of diets before realising she is perfect jut as she is, and then sending a message of body positivity when she walked the runway at the end.
The 38-year-old actress – who appeared in Demi Lovato’s new documentary ‘Child Star’ reflecting on her own experiences – has now insisted she’d have strict rules about her own future kids following in her footsteps.
She added: “I would never let my child go into the entertainment industry before the age of 17. Enjoy the anonymity first, and take some classes, and then we can get into it.”
In the ‘Disney High’ book, ‘That’s So Raven’ co-producer and writer Savel claimed show bosses handled Raven’s fluctuating weight “in really bad ways”.
She said: “Disney Channel was going crazy about it. And they handled it in really bad ways. But it was never to her face.”
Producer Michael Feldman said: “It was shameful. I don’t know how they could look at themselves and do that.
“The very thing that she wanted to do a story about was literally done to her. It’s still a shocking thing to me that they were that tone-deaf.”
Adam Bonnett, Disney Channel’s former head of original programming, insisted while it wasn’t something he “would have asked for”, he can recall the same technique being used later in the sitcom’s run.
Remembering a school dance episode, he added: “There was some stuff done to make Raven[‘s attire] look more flattering in certain scenes.”

Theo James issues warning after seeing impact climate change has on refugees

OHMYGOSSIP — Theo James has warned people of the “precarious” state of the world after a visit to Mauritania where he saw the impact of climate change.
The 39-year-old actor – who has recently been appointed Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency – spent time on his strip with refugees from Mali who escape violence and insecurity but now find themselves struggling with climate change and the Sahel region’s humanitarian crisis.
The ‘White Lotus’ star – whose grandfather was a refugee – will be part of the UN’s Climate Change Conference (COP29), and he was moved by his experiences in Mauritania, which is home to over 262,000 refugees.
He said: “While we’re all affected by climate change, it’s the people least responsible who are bearing the heaviest burden.
“This past week, I’ve had the privilege of hearing from Malian refugees, like Momo, the 84-year-old community leader at Mbera camp, who told me, ‘The forest speaks a lot even if it is mute. The world must understand that the tree is suffering, that the tree cries out.’
“And with Mariama Walet Almahdi, a Malian refugee who said, ‘Tell them we are thirsty, tell them we don’t have enough water for ourselves, our children, our cattle, our vegetables—we cannot survive.’ ”
He met with refugees and the communities that have taken them in, seeing first hand the situations they are in, with droughts in the area now extending for eight to nine months – a huge increase on the previous three to four months.
Theo also saw many of the refugees leading local initiatives to benefit them and their communities, including an all-volunteer refugee fire brigade tackling bushfires.
He added: “Their strength in the face of such overwhelming challenges drives my commitment to ensure their voices are heard.
“But it’s not enough to just listen, the situation is precarious, and action needs to happen, and it needs to happen now. These communities deserve more than just our attention; they need a seat at the table.
“That’s why I’m heading to COP29—to stand alongside them and push for real, urgent change.”
UNHCR is heading to COP29 to advocate on behalf of refugees, displaced people, and their hosts, who are being hit the hardest by the impacts of climate change and are not getting the support they need.

Andrew Garfield felt ‘scared’ about working with Florence Pugh

OHMYGOSSIP — Andrew Garfield initially felt “really scared” about working with Florence Pugh.
The 41-year-old actor stars alongside Florence, 28, in the new rom-com ‘We Live in Time’ – but Andrew has now confessed to harbouring some nerves about working the actress.
He told PEOPLE: “I was really scared. I think we were both really scared and nervous because it takes a while to get to know someone.
“There’s layers there. There’s defences there. I am someone, who on first meeting someone, I can be quite shy and quite protective and it takes me a while to really let someone know me. But then, when they’re in, there’s no getting out.”
Despite this, Andrew and Florence developed a strong bond over time.
He said: “I could see quickly that I could trust her, that she wanted to have fun, that she wanted to play. And that is like catnip to me. Someone who wants to just p*** around and she started taking the p*** out of me. I really enjoyed that. I took the p*** out of her and she really enjoyed that.”
Andrew and Florence presented awards at the Oscars in 2023. But the actor has now admitted that they approached the responsibility in very different ways.
Andrew shared: “We just have very, very different styles of approaching something like that. I like knowing the structure of a thing and then letting go in the moment.
“And she was much more just in the flow of it. And I was trying to make sure I was breathing deeply beforehand, because I can get quite nervous and overwhelmed at those things. And I wanted to make sure I knew the route and I wanted to make sure I knew who was standing where.”

The 29-year-old model recently starred at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and Gigi admitted that being a mom has changed her attitude towards the event.
Gigi – who has daughter Khai, four, with ex-partner Zayn Malik – told ‘Extra’: “I think also being a mom and just appreciating the time that I get to work and prioritise the jobs that I really want to do … There’s more focus on being present and really taking it all in like what does it smell like, look around, don’t black out at the end of the runway, remember what you’re doing and really be there.”
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York featured musical performances from Cher, Tyla and BLACKPINK’s Lisa, while the likes of Ashley Graham, Valentina Sampaio and Bella Hadid – Gigi’s sister – also walked the runway.
Gigi relished the experience of appearing at the iconic show after a lengthy hiatus.
She shared: “It’s just really great.
“Like, there’s so many women that I’ve grown up in this industry with and have known through different chapters of my career, there’s girls that I watched in the show when I was still in high school and was such a fan of them, and it’s really fun now because Victoria’s Secret is really being run by and led by women.”
Gigi previously admitted that she loves being a mom.
The model told the Sunday Times newspaper: “She has already given me so much. I always wanted to be a mom, but I was never obsessive about it or [thought that] I was put on this Earth to be a mom.”
Gigi also thinks she had a baby at the perfect time in her life.
She said: “I’ve always been quite organised, so having Khai at the time that I did was a blessing. I’m so glad to be a young mom.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Liza Minnelli developed tinnitus when her dad “screamed” in her ear at the Oscars.
The 78-year-old actress won an Academy Award for her performance as Sally Bowles in the musical film ‘Cabaret’, and Liza’s dad, director Vincente Minnelli, screamed with excitement when her name was announced.
The Hollywood star told Interview magazine: “I never thought I’d win that Oscar. I was sure Diana Ross was going to get it [for ‘Lady Sings the Blues’].

“I worked and still work as hard as anyone can, and I love each person who supported me and cares about me for me. I love performing. How ’bout you?’ My work is real.”
Liza is currently working on a number of passionate projects.
The award-winning star told her showbiz pal Michael Feinstein: “I’m writing, creating, and working with Tiffany and Co.’s [creative director] Christopher Young, who is a pure genius. We’re collaborating on new ways to celebrate Elsa Peretti.
“I’m also recording again and producing with you, Michael, and Sam Haskell. Our baby business just keeps growing, and at this age that’s a helluva good time.
“You didn’t ask, but I have one piece of advice: Take care of your body ’cause you might live longer than you expect to.
“I just keep replacing parts and moving forward. You just deal with it and be happy, and as Dick Van Dyke sang and taught to me, ‘Put on a Happy Face’.”

Despite this, Liam suggested that he’d managed to overcome his own issues.
He said: “You know what the traps are and if you are lucky enough, like me, to be able to get out of that scenario and back into a sense of normality, then you know it’s a bit different.”
