The pop star died on Wednesday (16.10.24), aged 31, after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, but Liam was posting on Snapchat hours before he passed away.
Speaking about his plans for the day, Liam told his Snapchat followers: “Today, we ride. We’re going to ride some horses.
“Think I’m going to play polo again, which is going to put me out of action for about six weeks.
“It’s so hard to do, number one, my back and my neck from swinging that hammer around … or mallet, I think it’s called if you’re in the know. It hurts a lot, it’s very tough to do.”
Liam – who recently attended one of Niall Horan’s concerts in Argentina – died after falling from the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in the Argentine capital.
Liam enjoyed huge success as part of One Direction, and he embarked on a solo career after the band went on an indefinite hiatus in 2016.
However, he previously admitted that he needed to hit the “reset button and take a break” after struggling with alcoholism.
Liam told the BBC: “It was very erratic behaviour on my part – I was partying too hard.
“It was a tough little time. My family were very worried.”
The pop star acknowledged that he turned to alcohol in a bid to “mask [his] feelings”.
He shared: “I was coming off the back-end of a break-up, so I was dealing with all sorts of emotions that I hadn’t dealt with in a long time because I was always covering them up – heartbreak, nerves, all sorts of things.
“I’d gotten too used to this rhythm of life; of using alcohol and different things to mask my feelings, or get me through.”

Liza Minnelli ‘keeps replacing’ body parts and ‘moving forward’

OHMYGOSSIP — Liza Minnelli deals with health issues by “replacing” body parts and “moving forward”.
The 78-year-old entertainer has opened up about her health in a new interview urging her fans to “take care” of their bodies so they can stay healthy in their later years.
She told Interview magazine: “I have one piece of advice: Take care of your body ’cause you might live longer than you expect to. I just keep replacing parts and moving forward.
“You just deal with it and be happy, and as Dick Van Dyke sang and taught to me, ‘Put on a Happy Face’.”
Liza has undergone hip and knee replacement operations as well as jaw reconstruction surgery after falling over onstage during a show in Sweden in 2007.
During rehearsals for a UK tour back in 2008, Liza opened up about her health issues in an interview with the Guardian newspaper, saying: “[I’ve had] two [hip replacements]. And a wired-up knee. I’ve got two crushed discs too. Never stop moving or you’ll stop moving. I go to dance class every morning and it’s just good to stay strong; I like being healthy.”
When asked about her jaw surgery the previous year, she said: “I’ve got four [teeth] missing. I had serious, serious – they took out part of my jaw, they took out all of these teeth!
“And because I’m a dancer, I don’t complain, you just don’t complain, so I was thinking, ‘Ow, this really hurts’ [after the fall]. And then I went to the doctor and said, ‘Please give me something, this hurts me so much’.”
Throughout her life, Liza has also battled substance abuse issues and she was dealt another set back in 2000 when she was struck down with encephalitis which left her in a wheelchair.
She added to the Guardian: “I had to learn to walk again, had to learn to talk again. People don’t usually recover like I recovered but I would not give up. I just couldn’t – I don’t know how you’d do anything else … I really worked to get back. Most people don’t come through it.”

Artem Chigvintsev obtains shared custody of son

OHMYGOSSIP — Artem Chigvintsev has obtained shared custody of his son.
The 42-year-old dancer split from wife Nikki Garcia after two years of marriage in the wake of a row on 29 August that led to police being called and the dancer arrested on domestic violence charges, and while the retired WWE star had requested sole custody of four-year-old Matteo in her divorce filing, with her estranged husband to be given supervised visitation, a court hearing on Tuesday (15.10.24) rules in the former ‘Dancing With the Stars’ professional’s favour.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, a hearing in the Napa County, California court ordered the pair to share custody of the little boy and although Nikki had asked for Artem to be ordered to take anger management classes, the judge didn’t appear to do that but ordered them both to take parenting classes.
The dancer – who wasn’t charged following his arrest due to a lack of evidence – testified during the hearing that he doesn’t have anger issues.
Nikki and Artem’s two-day divorce trial has been scheduled for December.
Earlier this month, Artem and Nikki obtained restraining orders against each other, offering different versions of the events that led up to the dancer’s arrest.
Artem alleged his spouse appeared stressed due to work and “escalated the argument” by criticising him for not taking an equal share of parenting responsibility, which he insisted was “completely false”.
The dancer insisted he then left the room to “let her cool down” while he helped Matteo get ready to leave, but the former wrestler followed and allegedly continued to shout complaints at him, getting angrier at his “calm” responses before she “completely lost it” and told him to get out before “forcefully throwing both of Matteo’s sneakers” at him.
Nikki had admitted throwing the shows in her filing after growing “overwhelmed” by Artem yelling at her, but insisted they “weigh hardly anything and could not have hurt him.”
Artem told how he had taken Matteo to his room and wouldn’t let Nikki in, but when she forced her way in, the little boy began crying so he moved himself and his wife out to the hallway.
He alleged: “I tried to get her off me and away from the door frame so that Matteo would not witness any further conflict.
“I cannot stress enough how many times I pleaded with her to stop and calm down. There was a mutual struggle, and both ended up on the ground. At that moment, I knew that nothing I would say would get to her [and] make her calm down.
“I was hurt and scared of her continuing on. I needed help for her to stop.”
In her own filing, Nikki stated Artem had opened the door and “tackled” her to the ground before pinning her down when she tried to get in the bedroom, and pushing down on her chest.
Artem called police and remained outside until they arrived but was ultimately arrested, which he noted in his filing had surprised him as he wasn’t the primary aggressor.
He included photos of injuries he alleged had been caused by 40-year-old Nikki in his paperwork.

Liam Payne died instantly

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne died instantly after falling from his hotel balcony.
The 31-year-old singer passed away on Wednesday (16.10.24) after plunging from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires and emergency services have explained he sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, that meant there was no hope of saving his life.
Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti told The Sun: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life.
“Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”
Audio from the two calls made by the hotel’s head of reception to emergency services has also circulated online, with the employee admitting staff were “worried” a guest would put their life at risk.
In the first call, he said: “We have a guest drunk with drugs and alcohol. When he [them, gender not clear in conversation] is conscious, he is breaking everything in the room…
“We have a guest who is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come.”
After the line went dead, he called back and said: “We need you to send someone urgently because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger.
“They must be in a room that has a balcony. And well, we’re a little bit worried he’ll do something, that he’ll put his life at risk.”
Liam’s body was found in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time.
TMZ.com reported witnesses stated Liam had been “acting erratic” in the lobby of the hotel with the outlet publishing statements suggesting the singer had smashed his laptop and had to be taken back to his room.
Authorities in Buenos Aires have since launched an investigation into the star’s death and the UK Foreign Office has confirmed officials have been in touch with authorities in Argentina “regarding reports of the death of a British man”.

Maya Henry ‘in shock’ over Liam Payne’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne’s former fiancee is “in shock” following his tragic death.
The former One Direction singer passed away on Wednesday (16.10.24) after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Maya Henry – who he split from in May 2022 after a three-year on/off romance – was left stunned by the news.
Her representative told DailyMail.com: “She is understandably in shock.”
Just days before Liam’s death, Maya claimed the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker had predicted his early death and warned he needed “help”.
She said on the ‘Internet is Dead’ podcast: “There was one time I tried to get him help, but he was not taking it.
“He would always message me after we broke up, he would say, ‘I’m not well’.
“He would always play with death, and be like ‘well I’m going to die, I’m not doing well’.
“I know the lifestyle that he lives and there is a day that something is going to happen.
“So I would always be like, OK, he’s saying these things, I am going to have to help him because I am not going to be able to live with myself if something happens to him.”
The 23-year-old model had instructed her legal team to send a cease and desist letter to her former fiance earlier this week after she accused him of repeatedly contacting her and her friends.
Her spokesperson told The Sun newspaper in a statement: “Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information.
“She has retained attorneys Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna to represent her. At this time, that is her only comment on the matter.”
The legal move came after Maya accused Liam – who had seven-year-old son Bear with former partner Cheryl Tweedy – of bombarding her with calls and messages from different numbers.
She said on TikTok: “Ever since we broke up he will blow up my phone.
“It’s always from different phone numbers too so I never know where it is going to come from.
“He will create new icloud accounts to iMessage me. It’s always a damn new iCloud account. Each time I see a new one pop up on my phone I’m like ‘oh here we go again’.
“He will also email me.
“There is no right and wrong time to speak out on these topics.
“It’s disturbing that this man is still doing these things to me.
“I am disgusted by this diabolical behaviour. This is beyond disgusting and flabbergasting to say the least.”

Mikey Graham calls for ‘duty of care’ after Liam Payne’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Boyzone’s Mikey Graham wants record companies to bring in new duty of care standards to look after young stars following the death of Liam Payne.
The One Direction singer, 31, died on Wednesday (17.10.24) after plunging from the balcony of his hotel in Argentina and he previously admitted to struggling with substance abuse issues since shooting to fame in the ‘X Factor’ boyband when he was just 16 years old.
Now fellow singer Mikey – who also experienced boyband fame back in the 1990s – has called on music bosses to change the way they take care of vulnerable young people. In a post on X – previously known as Twitter – he wrote: “RIP Liam Payne. Such tragic news.
“I think it would be a wise move for record companies to have psychologists on their books from now on in his memory as a duty of care for the vulnerability of their young talent.
“Fame can be very damaging especially in today’s world. Lots of money. Nobody to help. Lots of yes people. Nobody honest.”
Liam previously opened up about his struggle with alcoholism and revealed the One Direction singers were often confined to their hotel rooms due to the level of their fame and he would have a “party for one” using the mini-bar.
During an appearance on ‘The Diary of a CEO’ podcast, Liam said: “I was worried how far my rock bottom was going to be. Where’s rock bottom for me? And you would never have seen it. I’m very good at hiding it. No one would ever have seen it.
“There is some stuff that I have definitely never, never spoken about. It was really, really, really severe. And it was a problem. And it was only until I saw myself after that, I was like ‘Right, I need to fix myself.”
He added of his boyband days: “The problem was … the best way to secure us [the bandmembers], because of how big it got, was to lock us in a room. And, of course, what is in the room? A minibar.
“At a certain point, I just thought, ‘Well, I’m going to have a party for one,’ and that just seemed to carry on throughout many years of my life.
“It was wild, but it was the only way you could get the frustration out in the day.”

Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘buy holiday home in Portugal’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have reportedly bought a holiday home in Portugal.
The couple live in California with their two children, but the Daily Mail newspaper’s Richard Eden reports they have now snapped up a base in Europe following a three-night break in Portugal last year after visiting Germany to attend the Invictus Games.
The publication reports Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank also own a place in Portugal and split their time between their home in the UK and their property in the sun.
Harry and Meghan previously lived in Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle before stepping back as senior royals moving to North America.
They were offered the house by the late Queen Elizabeth after their wedding in 2018 but they were subsequently asked to hand back the keys by King Charles last year and they moved out the last of their belongings in June 2023 leaving them without a base in Europe.
The cottage had been leased to Eugenie and her husband, but subsequent reports suggested the property had been offered to Prince Andrew, who turned down a move from his longterm home at the nearby Royal Lodge.
Harry previously wrote about his love for the cottage in his book ‘Spare’ revealing he always thought the couple were “destined” to live there.
He wrote: “Meg and I moved our office into Buckingham Palace. We also moved into a new home. Frogmore was ready. We loved that place.
“From the first minute. It felt as if we were destined to live there. We couldn’t wait to wake up in the morning, go for a long walk in the gardens, check in with the swans. Especially grumpy Steve.
“We met the Queen’s gardeners, got to know their names and the names of all the flowers. They were thrilled at how much we appreciated, and praised, their artistry.”
